i somehow guessed 7/9 like two weeks ago (i say as if 5 weren't predictable)

the lineup is....alright. it seems that neither xingxing or daeul wanted to debut (xingxing kept saying no apparently and daeul kept making an X with his hands...?) so this is...interesting. im thrilled that zai made it in, i really wasn't expecting much but he was quite safe in the end. im a bit sad for daeul and xingxing but what can you do at this point...the most surprising part to me were the top 9 candidates actually (and hangyuls rank but im valiantly ignoring it). yoojun was definitely on the way up but i wasn't expecting rank 10...i wonder if hangyul fans tried to save him (and zai, maybe)? given the way this group was looking i think xilong wouldve fit well, but clearly he dropped quite a bit. i also haven't talked about congb, but i think he was kind of screwed over by the show being so short & all of the trainees who came in with large fanbases. i dont think he fits the top 9 but i wouldve been super happy to have him. anyways, ill do some brief member by member commentary:

shao ziheng: clear center from day 1, im glad he got it

junhyuk: my heart was beating so loudly when he wasnt called, i didnt realize he had so many rich fans since i never saw his name when galaxy donations were popping up. im proud that he's #2 but also still confused lmfao. im so happy that i didnt really have to worry about him on this show but the fear when 6 - 4 were called and he wasnt there kind of made up for that 😭

xu shihuan: i dont hate him but him being top 3 is annoying, sorry. i hope his family buys a lot of albums. also annoying that the ppl who do paid votes dont even start early to give the rest of us time to adjust to that person being in the top 9. like 37 to 3 just doesn't look good my guy

xinche: im a xinche supporter sorry. the problem that a lot of nugu groups run into is that they have a lot of talent and no stan attractors and well. that will not be a problem here. i almost expected them to be more of a variety group than a music group (unfortunately) and xinche's bond with hangyul, junhyuk, and zai especially will come in handy. plus, another rich fanbase. do i like his rank? no. is he ready to be a musician? no. but i think he'll be very popular and an asset to the team

pentor: there's not much to say about pentor. i love him, i think he's great, im glad he's debuting, that week where he dropped a bunch was scary, but all was corrected in the end. i think he'll be a great idol (again), i almost just wish he was on a better show actually. he seems to have a good bond with everyone so im not *expecting* issues, but i hope he doesnt run into an issues being the only thai member/only member without others who speak the same language. i know his mandarin is pretty good though so that's great. wow, more to say than i thought

hangyul: his rank bothers me but i suppose this proves that his fans are poor but dedicated. from to 2 to 6 does kind of make sense with the paid votes, i just had no idea that junhyuk's fans were richer 😭 tbh with his enduring popularity from the unit till now i think hangyul will still socially be treated like a top 3/5 member. plus he has a good shot at being the leader which will help his visibility

zai: my boy made it 😭 i wasnt scared about my main main picks bc i couldnt conceptualize them not making it but i was voting for zai like my life depended on it. i liked him ever since that pic of him in that hat dropped (i was having grandiose visions of an exo 2.0 and he was giving chanyeol) but then realizing just how close he was to hangyul and especially junhyuk made me a bit more desperate 😭 i almost bought firefly votes for him and the only reason i didnt is because iqiyi kept buffering lmfaoooo.

donghwa: so uhm. did the slb 9 pick make anyone realize that f4 isnt real or what 😭 anyways hes talented and im not mad at him debuting but i did stop voting for him in r1 because i was uncomfortable with his past. idk how that's gonna impact the team in the future. i think the prodction shouldve switched to highlighting han jeongwoo once calls not to vote for ydh started getting a lot of attention but by then "f4" was already locked in. we'll just have to see i guess. also lowkey, im not a hater but some of the things he does makes me side eye a little but that'll hopefully go away lmfao

lee daeul: kind of already said my piece but i feel sort of bad for him. at the same time, if he didn't wanna debut he should've dropped out instead of thinking that there wasn't a chance. to be blunt, and I've said this before: this was not the show for daeul. he needed to find a company (now we know that 143 is absolutely awful-boycott madein, support gaeun- but theoretically that shouldve been a good place for him if they hadnt dropped him, which didnt really make sense in the first place) and train for a bit before making a debut in a cuter group that gets to wear sweaters a lot. instead he is here. i think he would be more popular in a standard korean group so this probably wont do his career many favors. unfortunate

polarix as a whole: i like a lot about this lineup. this could go well or this could go poorly and it all depends on the company. if they dont get gen1e'd (activities in china only for the chinese members while the rest get nothing) and they dont get classy'd (trapped in a money laundering scheme) and they dont get loona'd (stuck in a contract where they cant profit) and they dont get uniq'd (where the market doesn't know where to put them and thus they dont get many group opportunities) and theyre not just straight up unpopular, it could be okay! i hope a company that wants a successful group takes them. money is super important but wanting your group to promote and do well is pretty much even more important and that's the true killer of so many groups. pls promote them well. whatever company they end up under 😭🙏

2023 MID YEAR CHECK IN

it's that time of year, and I'm only a week late! I was tagged by several people to list my top 10 title tracks of the year so far, but I had too many songs I liked (and opinions I wanted to share) to keep it to strictly 10 songs.

FINAL OBSERVATIONS:

my spotify was riddled with peak time songs, both originals and the covers. however, step by step (24k), hola! (bxb) and coco colada (dkb) are an unmoving top 3

ive fallen more and more for girl groups, especially ones i did not expect (nmixx, secret number, and ive, especially). as for girl groups i already stanned, they did not disappoint!!

ive liked way more boy group releases than i had in the past couple of years, but mainly from groups i didnt stan, which was strange. quick shoutout to tempest, atbo, xdinary heroes, p1harmony -- i'll have to get into them!

on the flip side, a lot of the releases i was looking forward to... did not hit like i wanted them to. im so sorry dkb & wei

also i am SO enjoying the new trend of boy groups going back to doing fun stuff!!! i know 'noise music' is an irritating (and untrue) generalization but im glad we're back to doing fun groovy upbeat stuff and not what the current trend was

the only reason don't call me is on this list is bc i listened to it so many times that it got burned into my brain and also theyre clearly having fun & not taking it seriously

Ch 1. Getting Ready.

Huffing in an attempt to calm my nerves, i stare into the mirror. The outfit Chloe had picked out for the concert felt odd against my skin. i normally just wore what was comfortable, but she insisted that i dress up for this. apparently id feel out of place otherwise. if i was honest i didnt even know what i was walking into. she had been listening to Bloodied Daisies alot long than i had, hell she had been to their concerts too. this was my first time going because she won a raffle for backstage tickets.

"Are you about ready??" Her voice boomed through the door. Pulling briefly at the tight netting over my arms i respond "Yeah i guess so." And with that im met with my best friend. she had her blonde hair up in a spiky looking bun, and a matching punky looking outfit to mine. She covered her mouth with her hands. "Oh my god! Y/n you look so handsome!" she snickered, her fingers shortly finding my face afterwards to fix the makeup i had most likely smudged it while putting in my top. "Perfect." She grinned.

I followed her out of the apartment i rented and out to her little black car, that she had of course stickerbombed. Once we sat i tuned back in to what she was saying to me. "-and i hear he's quite the party-er. though if im honest im mainly there for Grayson. god he's smokin' hot." she started the car and we were off. the venue was about a 30ish minute drive from my place since my complex was closer to the edge of the city. "plus, theyre small enough still that they'll most likely drink with us. is that okay?" she asked, turning to me as she hit her breaks for the red light. "I don't wanna be like, wasted." I mumble. the idea of drinking around strangers never was a good one. "You can though, i'll drive us home." I continued, giving her a small smile. And there was that giddy grin of hers, it always made me feel better. "Perfect! im so excited! i know you dont party much but i promise you'll love it." she cooed, before going on to explain that the tickets she gor were basically pay to get in party tickets, and were limited to about 10 ish people excluding the band obviously.

The next 20 minutes of the drive was us jamming out to the album they were touring. I had to admit, I loved this dudes voice. Chloe went over the band members names and what they played. Joel, the vocalist and guitarist, though apparently he could play several instruments too. Grayson, the drummer, her favorite. And lastly their bassist, Arlo, who also could play a few instruments. The more we sang, the more excited i got. i had never even been to a real concert before, let alone one like this.

Holding the CD case in my hand, i actually started to look at the members. inside the case was a picture of them together, with their signatures beside each of their heads. She had gotten this at their last concert. Joel, a kinda small dude, covered in tattoos and freckles with a dark fuzzzy mohawk and green eyes. Holy shit he had braces too. Grayson, a super tall scary looking man, with long black and blue hair, way more piercings than Joel, and gnarly cutting scares all over his body, even his cheekbones. I see why Chloes makeup was blue now. And Arlo, taller than Joel but shorter than Grayson, a lanky androgynous person, with long hair pulled up in a messy ponytail, glasses, and just as many piercings and tattooes as Joel.

The more i stared at the vocalist i started to giggle "How tall is he?"

"Uhh, five eight i think?"

"that voice comes out of that little man?"

"mhm!"

"thats funny as hell."

She giggled with me "isnt it? he's honestly scrunkly as hell. when i met him he smelled like cigarettes and like a woody smelling cologne"

"Chloe that's oddly specific. Why is that what you noticed?"

"It's hard not to when he's just below me in height. his forehead met my nose."

I rolled my eyes and tuned back into the song, into the venue parking we went.

media podcasts: i just recently started listening to a dnd podcast called gals and goblins im only on ep 2 but its very good so far! i also started listening to swiftlit made by tumblrs own @kingofmyborrowedheart its a taylor swift podcast with literary analysis its very good if youre new to podcasts!!! shows: ive watched a lot of new shows this month mostly with my partners. ive finally started watching avatar the last airbender but i did start watching this back in september but i watched it this month so its on the list, also started watching an anime called castlevania with my bf and everyone in that show is hot so 10/10, ofc i watched the amazing digital cirrus ive seen the pilot maybe four times now and im obsessed with it!!! im not caught up on either of these but i watched the first few episodes of loki s2 and our flag means death s2. ive also finally got back around to watching the boys with nex and we just started s3 and omg its so good, i also did my yearly rewatch of over the garden wall! and ive been rewatching how i met your mother with my bf! movies: most of my movies ive watched this month were on weekly polycule movie nights which were ghostbusters(the og one), beetlejuice, coraline, halloweentown, and all three of the kingsman movies, i also did finish watching the scream movies with a cute girl im flirting with! comics: for comics i just got back into reading comics again so most/all of it was just catching up on my favs! everything is fine by birchall, lovebot by chase keels and miranda mundt, ingrid the plauge doctor by harry amoros, hyperfocus by kip trevor and love me to death by toonimated! books: i also got back to reading this month so i only got back to where i was in rereading the percy jackson books games: i didnt really get to play much this month but it was mostly minecraft, sticky business an indie game about running your own small sticker business, paleo pines another indie game thats a dino farmsim and a tiny sticker tale another indie where you travel around an island helping people with your magic sticker book! lmk if yall have any suggestions for anything!! im really trying to branch out with stuff so dont be afraid to send an ask! 💕

so i mean when i was like. A Child like legitimately like seven years old i was like.. obsessed with some of her bigger hits at the time (love story, bad blood, 22, etc. all of which i stand by being rly fun and good songs though i know her actual fans dont like them as much LOL). so when i like.. actually started developing a music taste beyond what my parents put on the radio in the car it was like right around when lover came out, which i listened to in full and REALLY REALLY liked tbh its still my third favorite album of hers.

but then for whatever reason i never fully listened to folklore or evermore when they came out (honestly i think because at the time i didnt appreciate more slow/chill/sad music i was more into faster "edgier" stuff but my music taste has. broadened since then) and then i didnt rly know what was happening when fearless and red tv released lmfao. and then once midnights was announced stuff about the album was like, ALL OVER all of my socials so i decided to try listening to it and again i found i actually pretty good (its still my fourth favorite album).

(god this is getting long sorry) so then i decided to just like fuck it go through and listen to all her albums, and i started ranking them mainly just bc i saw so many other people sharing their opinions about her albums i thought it sounded fun. i actually only finished this task this weekend because listening to new music is like. a LOT of effort for me but i finally did it lol, finishing off with fearless tv which i liked a LOT more than i thought i was going to tbh.

for a while i had reputation at the top of my list, but since its shifted to folklore, but i honest to god love all of her albums lmfao.

OHOHO! JACK STAUBER! its been a pretty long time since i listened to any jack stauber … but a fffffew years ago? i went thru an era where jack stauber was 90% of what i listened to but like, largely just the same few songs. i think.

Seriously, though, my taste in music is pure chaos; I listen to a bunch of different genres. Although heavier, more aggressive sounds will always have a special place in my heart--heavy metal/rap metal/death metal, rock, punk, hardcore, screamo, etc. There's just something about it that means I'm always returning to those sounds. (And by sounds I mean straight fucking screaming, haha). But I do enjoy rap/hip-hop, pop, alternative, indie, electronic, etc., etc. (Also, I am ashamed to admit there is a certain 10-15 year period of country music that I know so well that I could sing the exact words to the top 100-ish charted songs for each year. My mother is a big country music fan, so I heard it constantly growing up. My father likes classic rock, so I've got that covered too, lol.) I could go on for hours about music, lmao.

I am always listening to music.

I currently have 65 custom playlists on Spotify, and I follow way more than what I've made myself. I collect vinyls (and I have a bunch of CDs, I don't go out of my way to find them but, hey, if I see one at a thrift shop or something... I'll probably get it. I'm weak for music, lol). I am always in the top 1% of listeners in Spotify (as in, my wrapped always says, "you listen to more music than 99% of other listeners in the U.S.!") Last year, I actually listened to more music than 99.5% of people in the U.S., lmao.

back to ZEROBASE - the instrumental is very very good and the vocals ate!! i dont know whose voice is whose or basically ANYTHING about this group but this is so good and catchy !! is it REAAAAL !!!!! 8/10 a good promising start to the album. in bloom - i heard this all over the tiktok but this is my first time listening to the whole song and man it only got betteRRRRR THE INSTRUMENTAL OH LORDD fuck it up!!!! i love it so much AAAA everyone said it has seventeen vibes and while i dont see it i am definitely enjoying the song. the chorus makes me feel like im levitating or something AAAH just the kind of song i LOVE. idk who sings the chorus but i wanna give him a medal he slayed. 11/10 fuck it up! new kidz on the block - 👀👀👀👀👀 okayyyyyyy. the intro? OKAYYYY. the beat ??? okay..... it has slight house tendencies in the pre chorus and if i knew how to dance id definitely dance to this song. veryvery good 😩 very toned down clubbing music and u know i love me some club music. 8,5/10 !! and i - first boy your vocals eat so much. also prechorus boy. this song is such a feel good song its so FRESH too !! the chorus is soso catchy it makes me bob my head i am enjoying myself. 8/10 :p our season - RIGHT FROM THE START IM SITTING HERE LIKE :D LISTENING TO THIS IT JUST KEEPS ON GIVING EXSCTLY WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO GIVE. prechorus boys your voices!!! I resisted most kpop and all kpop fandom for a very long time 😆

I got into visual kei in high school (2007 ish) and one of my online friends also listened to some. She got me into J dramas, from where I got into KAT-TUN in 2010. She also watched K dramas and listened to kpop and she sent me some, but not being able to sing along by ear or through romanized lyrics frustrated me since I'd been able to do that with Japanese since I first listened to anime openings and such in middle school. I did listen to some 2ne1 and Big Bang, but mainly Japanese releases since at that point I was studying Japanese and reaching conversational fluency.

After college she and I mostly fell out of touch, KAT-TUN had slowed down after losing a member in 2013 and then another later, LiveJournal got taken over by a Russian "news" company, so all my sources of music and drama torrents were gone, the two main VK bands I listened two took hiatuses or had record company issues (one came back, the other eventually broke up), and so I was back to mostly listening to top 40 radio.

At some point, I got suggested a "reacts to kpop" video on YouTube, and I was like, "I wonder if I'll even recognize and of these groups." The answer was no, I did not, but one if the songs was Blackpink's Whistle, and I was like, "damn, this song is fun," so I started listening to them. I still didnt keep up with anything beyond just their music (and still dont), but it got some kpop on my radar again.

Then I went to Holiday Matsuri in 2021 and went to the hottest men in anime show, which is a men's burlesque contest. The winning act performed to God's Menu and Lisa's Money, two bangers that I hadn't heard because I wasn't actively paying attention to new music. I went and looked them up and played a Spotify kpop playlist the whole 6 hours drive home to add new songs to my library, but I still didn't look up any groups. I continued like that for about a year, just liking individual songs. Then, around when Time Out came out, something made me look up the Stray Kids youtube. I had watched the God's Menu video that first night I heard the song, but I didn't watch anything else. I subscribed to the channel that time, but u still didn't dive into the music videos or add a bunch to my library. Its like part of my brain new I'd not crawl out of that hole and it wasn't the right time for it lol

Finally, late August of last year, I let myself watch the music videos and listen to full albums. Then I resisted any additional content outside of "making of" videos for another month (which is a while for a disabled person with nothing to do but consume content).

Now, here I am. Awash in the swamp. Watching Han and Chan and understanding nothing 🤣

Thankfully I had already planned to learn some Korean since its the third most common language where I live and I had started watching kdramas, but its hard! I still have some bias to Japanese releases for that reason 😆 but it does vary by song since some don't fit/match rhythmically to the Korean versions as nicely as others. Hopefully I'll get there with Korean. I have to remember I have decades of familiarity with the sounds and basics of Japanese compared to very little familiarity with Korean.

this is a wholeeee journey u did not take the easels to mordor lmao but omg i’m learning so much about how things were found in the 00’s and 10’s when i was content to go to warped tour and never be online lmao but this journey feels educational with all the stuff u were into! and ur bias for japanese releases is understandable especially jyp groups they just hit different so i can understand having spent all that time learning japanese and being into japanese culture would only add to the fondness for them! your will power to get into skz so slowly is amazing I don’t know if i’ve ever done such a good job of avoiding diving straight into something the second i found a part of it i liked, but alas we all end up in the skz swamp one way or another lmao

in honor of tays new achievement occupying the top 10 songs (top 14 technically hehehe) on the billboard chart for the second time in her career and being the only artist to ever do so.... i wanted to talk torchiepo!! since i never did even though i said i was. (im busy im soz)

this is just going to be my really messy really scattered and disorganized thoughts on ttpd, bc i wanted to, so here they are. i think its tays most misunderstood album. i think that the media is heavily biased against her and her fans just so happen to speak louder than the critics and thats why you hear more positive than negative (thankfully). i think that her peers are extremely envious of her. taylor is unlike anything, any person, any artist. she is consistently peaking, she is consistently breaking her own records, therefore this is not someone that is going to be scrutinized or critiqued very fairly. people have these preconceived notions of her and their own thoughts on her as a person and how deserving she is of her fame and success. all of this is fine its just unfair when considering her art. CNN literally admitted to judging ttpd too harshly when it first came out. they were not judging the album. it is virtually impossible to consume and understand an artist's work just hours within it being released to the public, let alone a 2 HOUR, 31 TRACK ALBUM. they were judging HER. so they literally amended their review and yeah of course youre gonna like the album more after spending more time digesting it. stupid.

anyway. this album is really textured and layered and youre gonna naturally appreciate it more if you understand taylors lore. lol that sounds so funny to say but its really true. her songs naturally evolve in pop culture and become sound tracks to not just her life but her fans lives and they can be applied and understood in different ways. her older songs are true testaments of this, how theyre more generic love songs with winks and nods that allow her fans to understand who theyre *really* about/ what they mean to her. but ttpd is deeper than that, its really personal and unique to her life. no youre not going to relate to clara bow this is unique to her experience in the industry. no youre not gonna relate to thanK you aIMee because youve never beefed with kim kardashian and forcibly exiled from america. no youre not going to relate to the manuscript this is distinctly about her relationship when she was barely an adult dating a 30 year old movie star and her harrowing revisit to that trauma as she wrote the script for atw10 short film. right. yes we all wish we couldve dated jake gyllenhaal but we didnt, you didnt, she did. she saved us. shes literally christ. hahaha. anyway.

ok also a lot of people kind of fail to recognize the funniness and satire of this album. it is SO funny, and shes trying to make it funny, she literally explains this past stage of her life as a manic little phase that naturally would occur when dating one matty healy (ok she didnt say that explicitly i did but shebasically said that. in not so many words). okay if you dont get the jokes in the album do you know matty? i thank my lucky stars that i was an avid 2014 tumblrina and fan of the 1975 and i literally saw them last year, was very fun, matty is also a self-satirizing performer but this post isnt for him so i wont get into all of that either. but yeah people trying to talk down on her and say 'awww sweetie no....taylor youre not a poet....be so serious' oh my god!!! i want to scratch ur eyeballs out. SHE IS NOT SAYING SHES A POET!!! "I laughed in your face and said 'You're not Dylan Thomas, I'm not Patti Smith This ain't the Chelsea Hotel, we'rе modern idiots' " IS HER TELLING MATTY YOU ARE NOT A POET AND NEITHER AM I! so she literally agrees with you on that front.

i want to go through all the songs and all the lines and just gush about the masterful lyricism she possesses but i still feel like i havent had enough time with this album after a week. its such perfection. all the callbacks to her old songs, the influence of her co-producers jack and aaron and past albums culminating into this perfect blend of red-folk-nights?! ugh!!!! i love her so much. i love this album. TO PIECES

i just have some thoughts to dump .

i first heard of wednesday a few years ago and "fate is..." was definitely in my top 5 most listened to songs on spotify in 2021 or 22. i didnt know til recent that mj lenderman was a member and didnt know til like yesterday that they might be even better (to me!!!!!).

my first full listen to their live album they put out in later 2023 was yesterday and it changed things for me. embarrassingly enough i only took interest in tyler childers a few months ago. after this neocountry ( i know thats not what its actually called ) awakening within me ive been on a quest to find a good country sounding band that fused with my other genres of interest well. like better than pinegrove well. a honky tonk shoegaze project would be an incredible thing to stumble on, though no im not sure how its going to work with time keeping and all that whatever, no ones proven to make it happen since. but mj is the closest i have ever gotten.

about halfway through the album, i was able to identify something about mjl's familiar vocal... cadence? and place it with neil young. from referencing dylan, john daly, rodeo clowns, michael jordan, tom brady, jack nicholson, jackass, and rust on a grill left in the rain, american citizenship and our often borderline-unbelievable and ever-entertaining popular culture in the digital age help define mjl's sound, especially on this combination of previous releases. from ethel introducing gen z coastals to dale sr. to realtree camo being in casual rotation in an urbanites closet for work or dive hopping, americas "middle" aesthetics are becoming more recognized and thus more commodified. as someone raised in the rural midwest to now residing in the urban midwest, the sudden "trendiness" of articles of clothing or topics of conversation that used to embarrass you if your dad sported either in public, is both affirming and maddening. if you have ever been to a meat raffle, if the deer and fishing openers were treated like holidays in your hometown, or if youve ever resided at a residence within 1 mile of a "trump store", then you know there is a certain valor that comes with it. it wasnt pleasant. it wasnt comfortable. but it was something you did, you survived, and you still probably feel like home there. im getting incredibly off topic and wil probably revisit this concept in a seperate manor........

anyways all that above is to be said because i need you all to know that i do recognize the sin i am committing in this next statement which is to refer mjl's voice with noneother than ontarian neil young. their tenor-ish ranges, along with each of their tendencies to undermix in favor of a raw, though mjl isnt pushing any major life lessons or reflecting on their 20s in any of this album (yet).

knockin, the second track, is where i officially got hooked. i love bob dylan. i love obscure interpolations used within songs. but the only other artist to reference a lyric as common as "knocking on heavens door" that comes to mind IMMEDIATELY is lana, and mjl did it complete justice. on similar note, rudolph was able to become a highlight for me for, once again, a dylan interpolation.

screaming "you are very girl to me!" doesnt have the same affect as passively referring to a love gone as simply "a sunday", but mjl's lyrics immediately reminded me of a few childers lyrics. i cant help but think these asheville guys are childers fans due to the addition of the cover of 'long black veil'. yeah sure its a classic country!, but mjl's lyricism suggests to me that this is more of a reference to a reference, of course referring to "jersey giant" (ORIGINALLY BY TYLER CHILDERS).

dunno how to wrap these. i was just so so impressed with this album and happy i finally bit the bullet and took the internets suggestion to give them a chance.

8.5/10, id like to listen to their discog and hear the studio versions of each song as well.

My mom said we'd start packing up the car around 10 (to quote her directly, she wanted to "haul ass at 10") but she didn't even get home from a doctor's appointment until 10:30.

I woke up at 9 anticipating we'd be hauling ass at 10 (I've been waking up at 1pm everyday for the past 2 weeks) and went to bed at 4 (not by choice) so I could've gotten at least a bit more sleep.

I'm already overstimulated cuz I'm tired and now more so cuz we're off the given schedule.

So much time just getting shit into the car.

A CD I got in May is stuck in my dad's car. My dad's car recently was taken into the shop for some repairs. My mom said she brought up my stuck CD. Is my CD unstuck? Nope!

(Also secondary rant but this CD being stuck has caused me so much more stress than it should. It was $12 so not a huge financial loss but it's also my favorite album and the CD is sold out. My family doesn't have a good way to listen to music from phones in our car cuz we don't have Bluetooth and auxcords always end up hella staticy so we use CDs and I was so excited to finally have some new music in the car but I got to listen to it once before it got stuck and won't even play music because my mom messed with it trying to get it out. And then there's the added feeling of when you're upset about something that isn't a big deal and you KNOW it isn't a big deal so you feel dumb about getting so worked up about it because it's just a fucking CD and you could probably figure out a way to download the album and burn a new one but you bought this one from an artist you love and want to support so now you just feel dumb and stupid and wanna cry everytime you think about it and WHY DIDNT THE REPAIR PEOPLE GET IT OUT DID MY MOM LIE ABOUT TELLING THEM? I remembered I'd have to spend a lot of time around my cousins (not necessarily a bad thing. But my social battery is a constant 0%. Also I came out to my uncle as trans a while back and he reacted badly and I really don't wanna be around him :/)

We're on the road and I forgot how loud and bumpy highways are in this shit stain of a country (#americacore)

Also my mom smokes. The smell + open window being loud is not helping.

I'm crammed in the back and everytime we make a turn I'm crushed by my aunt's wheelchair.

I love my family so much like genuinely, but being around them is hard cuz they're always up here 📈 all the time and I'm always down here 📉 all the time so being around them is hard due to how our energies don't align for lack of a better term.
