@sawasawako very sorry for the late reply - i have been very busy and then i fell sick fnejfjejjr - putting this under read more bc im not sure how long this will be (and also tagging you incase)
okay for the start i was definitely hesitant to start the show bc of two reasons (which are interrelated) it's about men and violence (more specifically bullying as a form of violence and its relation to masculinity)- movies + shows delving into this topic often misrecognize the reasons for where these forms of violence come from / end up steering in the wrong direction and/or start excluding things which were criticized in the beginning -- and for that very reason i knew there would be hundreds of bl fans who would watch the show and take it at face value (as in take the violence and obsessions and make it into a gay people are messed up thing) and me having to talk to anyone about the show and/or jump off their meta posts would be almost impossible (but then u and a few other people were watching the show so i decided to give it a go too)
anyways to the real points
> the show's exploration of cyclicality is incredible, abuse and violence don't just erupt from anywhere - and it really integrates both familial structures (adoption into a picture perfect nuclear family which snatches away community not only bc of the family structure but also because of it's irremovability from political positions that create certain images and expectations, divorce which again snatches away community and friendship not only because of the individual parents themselves being uncaring but also because the larger system fails children into being welcomed back into a community after being failed in certain capitalist structures, having to work from such a young age because of a lack of "proper family" which results in isolation) -- both familial structures and friendships within the larger landscape of capitalism (where give and take are never equal and always result in various forms of violence) and masculinity (more often than not expressed through violence as a means of staying ahead and above within these circles of violence) give way to this cyclicality - one example is that of bumseok wanting to solve any and every problem with money (it's an interesting form of agency i feel, stealing (transgressive action) his father's watch to save his friends with that money but still getting rejected by his friends about that money (he doesn't fully comprehend this action since this is how family operates, this is how relationships are formed and when you've never experienced a healthy relationship you do things you've seen help people form connections, we see his father paying people to keep quiet about a lot of things in the show, and that's the way he understands relationships are built) but he gets back again to the place of abuse from where his money comes from) - his small acts of agency end up ramming back into him from the back, and it's so upsetting and awful to see, that episode really made me take a break from the show for a weak because breaking away from abuse is so difficult - there's so much to it that you become alienated from yourself and others; resulting in perpetual confusion
> another thing is - and im truly hesitant to say this because i don't remember everything that happened - how class differences emphasize how different bumseok and suho are; while their personalities do clash in very obvious ways - as in suho being upfront and out there about everything, sometimes even to a fault, bumseok is reserved and keeps a lot to himself (wouldn't say to a fault because it's a form of protecting himself, a form of not arranging revealing everything to the person in front of him; the first persons he does to is siuen and suho) [and i feel like sieun comes as a middle point in all this, he's both reserved and protective but also doesn't stop himself from saying what he wants to say when it's necessary, he's warm hearted because he's observant and he's quiet because that makes him understand the violence he doesn't want to be a part of, he holds a lot of characteristics of both the characters and while bumseok and suho clash with each other; sieun clashes with himself] - their class positions put them in very different places in each other's eyes - because we as watchers know a lot about them we don't see their class positions as one dimensional but as affecting and being affected; the question becomes how does suho see bumseok using his wealth to get him beat up? how does bumseok feel when everyone including suho use his money to treat themselves while feeling excluded from their company/trio/friendship all the same? i don't think i can reach proper conclusions to this without watching the show again - do tell me what you think about this
> another thing is the precarious position of violence in the show; everyone executes the violence in a very typical way (the athletic kid is protective but also violent because he's protective, the smart kid calculates the results so he can keep the consequences in his head, the introverted reserved kid wanting to keep away from violence but being dragged into it anyways) but that never draws back from what violence results in - it's both a critique of masculinity resulting in violence being an entrenched and inescapable part of the society (it's interesting that the setting of the show is an all boys school, an all-encompassing place of masculine violence) while also understands the years of rage and grief kept in to be let out through only mediums of violence as a means of self-defense (which is a means of taking back some sort of power taken away from you - again what sort of power is taken away in a homosocial environment; is the lack of masculinity seen as pitiable as we see in bumseok? or is that which is pitiable the agony of violence which results in the last episode of bumseok and others kicking suho? his lack of willingness to fight back is seen as pitiable but it again traces back to violence itself taking a wrong turn when it's experienced in a certain environment [i.e.; all environments]] because that willingness has been taken away by his father and his former bullies, and what he sees as being taken away by sieun and suho, and what he doesn't see as being taken away by the now bullies he's befriended) - i wonder if it's intentional or not but the show does end up asking for a deconstruction of masculinity, of why patriarchy and capitalism result in these forms of violence, of why kids themselves become trapped in these cycles of violence whether it be as a means of protecting themselves or enacting that violence (bumseok becomes representative of the blurred lines between protecting and enacting)
> now women (or woman), so while youngyi's character didn't lack depth - she's restless and gullible but also fierce in her protection of people she considers close and as friends, she's not shy to express herself etc etc; i feel like we could've seen more of her as how she became affected by violence; it invisiblises her in most of the show; and quiet literally does that by removing her from the show -- i wonder then what her position becomes in such a male-dominated environment of violence; what do women become in such an environment of violence where they're often seen to be the afterthought, where when bumseok confronting her asks her why she doesn't give suho anything when he gives her everything she didn't have until she met him (i need to see this scene again to see if it had implied something and also ask people around about translation as well - i will expand on this more after that; from bumseok's point of view we're only shown women being objects of indulgence; while not directly it is what he sees around him, i wonder if the placement of women in certain scenes/places was intentional, as a way to understand what fitting in means - what women can give and what men can take, etc, or i might simply be reaching to a layer that i haven't properly thought about yet, so do tell me what you think about it!!!)
omgg what did you think of weak hero class
🥲 will get back to you in a day or two [but thought a lot about it - still thinking of that first shot in the last episode; the position in which everyone's sitting, the chronology in which everyone leaves/follows, who is seeing who/who is turned back to who -- incredible]
#im completing this help idk why it posted 😭#asks#dez#woah this show was .... and made me stare at the wall for hours i def have to rewatch it bc nuances#abuse tw#bullying tw#i didn't talk about sieun much .... :'(#i don't think my words can properly do his character justice; theres! just the scene in the last episode where he punches the window#and shouts that reminds me so eerily of myself at that age .. head in hands ... u never get out of violence when ur alone it really grabs u

Soulmates <3
summary: Yoongi and our MC, Hani, meeting for the first time.
pairing: Yoongi x Reader
genre: soulmates, fluff
word count: 3.7 k
warning: fluff, almost sickeningly sweet, boyfriend Namjoon
Yeah, soulmates existed but you never thought you would find your soulmate.
It’s not because you were a complete pessimist, it’s just that most people don’t. Historians talked about a time where everyone meet their soulmate. It was like a rite of passage to meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after. Then, it was like the world just… moved on. We shifted away from this romanticized idea of love. We prioritized money, productivity, and success. But the problem was that not everyone can agree on how to define success.
As a teenager, school became your whole life. Then, when you finally did graduate, work became your whole life. There was this need to progress in life at the fastest pace possible. And if you didn’t complete everything how everyone else wanted, then you were failing. If you didn’t do well in school, go to a good university, and land a well paying job where you could work for the rest of your life, then you weren’t successful. It didn’t matter what you accomplished. It didn't matter how you felt about any of it.
In this new world that demanded toxic productivity and limited happiness, there was no room for soulmates. Not in the traditional way anyways. Some people still found their soulmates. But the magic of it all wore off. It didn’t seem special anymore. If anything, people who found their soulmates were lucky because of the convenience of it all. You found the one, so you could stop pretending to care about love.
Historians describe soulmates as a magic that can’t be contained. An all consuming feeling that can’t be fully described because it’s too many positive things all at the same time.
Personally, you think that no one can describe soulmates because that’s part of the magic that has worn off. It’s just another causality caught in the cross fire. The very idea of soulmates is slipping away. You wonder how long it will be until everyone forgets there were soulmates to begin with. It’s already started.
“Please… It’ll be fun. I promise” Minji is begging you to go to dinner with her friends. It’s not that you don’t want to go or don’t believe her. You do want to met her friends and boyfriend, Namjoon. It’s just that you don’t really like meeting new people. Well, you don’t really like social gatherings, or people for that matter, in the first place. You prefer a night in with a good book and some music.
But you had been dodging Minji’s attempts for a whole group hang out for over a month now and she was getting desperate. You were starting to feel bad. And it was a Friday night so you didn’t have classes in the morning. Plus she was almost in tears and looking up at you with puppy eyes. Really, you were doomed from the start.
“Just dinner.” You don’t think she was listening anymore, too busy nodding happily as she texted her boyfriend about the slight change of plans. She said that there were already going to be nine people, so adding another person last minute would be completely fine. She always complained that she was in desperate need of more women in their hangouts. It was only Minji and Sieun, Hoseok’s girlfriend.
She always called them “the boys.” Even though her boyfriend was one of them, he was simply lumped in with the rest of them. It always made you laugh how she talked about them as if they were one singular unit. They all seemed to exist together. It made you smile, but also you were a little nervous because you had no idea what to expect. You had no idea who they were. You hadn’t even met Namjoon yet. Nor did you know much about him, despite being friends with Minji for so long. All you did know was that they all go to Seoul’s National University too. But it was a big school, so even that didn’t mean much.
You didn’t even know their names, well, only Namjoon and Hoseok.
Needless to say, you were nervous on your way to dinner. You and Minji were taking the bus over to the restaurant together. You sat quietly, wondering what Minji’s reaction would be if you decided to fake an illness to get out of dinner. She would realize what you were doing, but you wonder if she might let you off the hook if she could tell how hard you were trying. Minji was talking to you a little, but mostly to herself. She was going on and on about how much the boys were going to love you. That they needed someone like you in their friend group.
That is, someone smart. Apparently the boys were a little dumb. Don’t get it wrong, they were smart, they just were also ‘the boys.’ You took her word for it because you didn’t really know what that meant. But you also did understand that boys tended to be a particular kind of dumb smart. So you wouldn’t put it past the seven men to be both smart and dumb at the same time. In fact, they probably were most of the time.
She also gave you a brief introduction of each of them so you didn’t have to stress about trying to figure it all out while you were eating.
The oldest Seokjin had graduated last year with a business degree and worked at a start up while also working as a TA at the university.
Then, Yoongi who also graduated with a business degree with Seokjin last year, but decided to double major. So, he is finishing a music production degree.
Namjoon’s a literature major, focusing on classics. It makes you smile because it makes sense why Namjoon and Minji would get along. You can already tell that you are going to like her boyfriend.
Hoseok’s a senior and Jimin’s a junior, but they are both majoring in dance. Their dream is to a run a studio together. It’s honestly pretty heartwarming.
Then Taehyung, who is studying photography. Apparently he has a couple minors because he could never make up his mind about what to study and now has all of these extra credits and hobbies that he doesn’t know what to do with.
Finally, the maknae, Jungkook who apparently is your stereotypical ‘gym bro.’ That in itself makes you a little nervous. But he is studying graphic design instead of getting a business degree so it gives you hope. Minji says that Jungkook is a literal bunny, whatever that means.
Sieun greets you both at the entrance to the restaurant, having just gotten there herself. You had meet Sieun a few times when she’d eat lunch with you and Minji sometimes. She’s like a little ray of sunshine. Honestly, it’s adorable. You found yourself wanting to squish her checks together all the time.
“I’m so glad you are here.” Sieun, ever the princess, said brightly. “There are too many men, we need more women in the group.” She sighed hopelessly. Minji was quick to voice her agreement which made you burst out laughing. You think that you are really going to like this friendship. And its always great to have girl friends. There is something special about it.
It was a higher end KBBQ restaurant. So even though you could tell it was more expensive you didn’t feel underdressed. It felt homey which helped you relax a little but you were nervous walking to the table. You could see seven men sitting at a table in the back. It was not completely private, but farther in the back offering some privacy for your large group.
You assume that Namjoon was the first to see you because a tall man jumped up from his seat to hurry over and wrap Minji in a hug. Despite his large frame, you could already tell he was a teddy bear. You think you already like him, but had to put on the front of a protective best friend. Once he let go of Minji he turned to greet you, bowing politely.
“Haneul, right?” You nod, returning his bow. It felt pretty formal but you appreciated the gesture. You think Minji found a good man. “Hani is fine.” You say diplomatically while Minji stifles a laugh beside you, amused by your antics. Like she would be any different.
You turn towards the other men, intending to offer each a smile and expecting an awkward introduction back. But after the first awkward smile, you freeze. A man is looking back at you. He has cat-like eyes and dark hair. He looks so pretty. You aren’t sure how else to describe him, just pretty. You think that your brain might be malfunctioning a little because you aren’t able to form any words. Honestly, the man isn’t doing much better. He also is just staring back at you, mouth slightly agape.
Its only after the initial shock that you realize why you both are frozen. You are soulmates. You had never expected to meet your soulmate. You hadn’t planned for this. Judging by his expression, you don’t think he had either. No one does anymore. So, you aren’t completely sure how to react. You don’t know what is expected of soulmates the first time they meet each other.
Everyone else is watching the two of you in confusion, but neither of you even realize because you are both too preoccupied with just staring at each other. You think you could be happy staring into his eyes forever.
“You’re my soulmate.” The man finds his voice before you do. He states it so matter of factly, his voice void of emotions. Part of you understands his tone, you relate to his tone. But the other part of you cringes. Is it bad to wish that his voice held more emotion? Is it bad to wish that he cared?
You nod, suddenly unsure of yourself. God, you want the ground to swallow you whole. Why had you let Minji convince you to meet her friends. You could be at home right now instead of in the restaurant meeting your soulmate.
It’s not that you have something against soulmates or you don’t want a soulmate at all. It’s just that you don’t know what is expected of a soulmate. You didn’t expect to meet your soulmate so you hadn’t considered what you did want. Obviously, you are an overthinker. You like to have everything planned out before you need to make a decision. You don’t like surprises because it makes you feel out of control. This is a surprise and, right now, you definitely feel out of control.
You can feel your eyes begin to fill with tears. You play with your sleeves behind your back to try to stop your hands from shaking but it isn’t working because you can still feel them shake. You blink a few times to make sure you don’t start crying. God, you really don’t want to cry; that would be a mess. How would you even explain why you are crying to your soulmate. That is, if they even wanted to know in the first place. You are vaguely aware of just how much you are overthinking right now, but can’t seem to stop yourself.
Your soulmate’s words broke everyone else out of their spell. The man next to your soulmate pushed the man towards the end of the booth, muttering something about how he has to do something and how you look scared.
You don’t look scared. Right?
Your soulmate stands up and takes a hesitant step towards you. When you don’t move he approaches cautiously. “I’m Yoongi.” “Haneul” Your voice shakes which contrasts Yoongi’s voice which stays steady despite the emotion now on his face. You can see him struggling to say something, but you don’t know how to read his emotions. They are so clearly on his face, but its difficult to decipher. Maybe its the tears clouding your vision. You wonder if Yoongi even knows what he, himself, is feeling.
“Haneul” Yoongi repeats. You don’t think he was actually talking to you so you don’t respond. You don’t even know what you would say to him. You nod. “Hani” You end up saying. “Everyone calls me Hani” You clarify when he doesn’t speak. You open your mouth to say something else. What exactly? You aren’t sure. But Yoongi beats you to it when he repeats your name. Again. He smiles and for the first time. You feel butterflies, the good kind.
“Why don’t you two eat together? We can meet later.” The man who had ushered Yoongi to stand up earlier says with a smile. It’s a nice smile. It makes you feel like he cares about you. Minji really does have good friends. You glance at Minji and she smiles and nods encouragingly. She looks like she might burst with energy. Minji is slightly bouncing up and down like a toddler that ate too much candy. Namjoon is standing next to her. He is looking between Minji and you like he might need to step in and hold Minji back from hugging you.
You look at Yoongi who is looking at you with hopeful eyes. It’s the first emotion you can easily read. You don’t think you would be able to turn him down when he is looking at you like that, even if you didn’t want to eat with him. You nod quickly which makes him smile even wider. His smile is this gummy smile that makes your heart clench. You decide that you love his smile.
You and Yoongi move over to another booth for some privacy. You are just far enough away that the others won’t be able to hear you, but they still have a clear view which makes you shift nervously. You can tell that all of them are watching you and Yoongi carefully. Yoongi seems calm which is good because you are anything but calm. You need some calm. Maybe this whole soulmate thing had some merit to it. Maybe Yoongi will be able to balance you out. The thought makes you a little dizzy. If Yoongi balances you out by giving you some peace to your racing mind, you hope that you can balance him out in some way too.
You send him a shy smile, trying to see what Yoongi could possibly need help balancing out. He blushes. Like he actually blushes.
You knew the myth behind soulmates. It was said that your soulmate was your other half. They were like your missing puzzle piece. That they completed you. Obviously it was a nice thought. Doesn’t everyone want to meet their person? Someone who just completes you and makes all the worries go away. So of course soulmates sound pretty good. But the problem is that soulmates don’t promise anything. Back when soulmates were really popular, people would find their soulmate and fall in love, but still get their heart broken. Love between soulmates isn’t set in stone, you still need to put effort into your relationship.
Relationships are never easy, even with the perfect person, your other half. Your soulmate.
You think it is naive for people to think that soulmates would fix that. But for most, they want an easy love. They want all the perks of being in a relationship without the work. So the magic of soulmates began to fade. Simply people stopped valuing relationships and instead wanted ease, but nothing in life is easy, especially the things worth fighting for. And you can already tell that Yoongi is worth fighting for.
“Here” Yoongi begins to place cooked meat into your bowl of rice. You had been so caught up in your own head that you hadn’t even realized he had been grilling meat. You send him a shy smile that makes his eyes light up. You feel satisfied. You have always cared about people and put so much into making other people happy, but there is something special about making Yoongi happy.
“I never thought I’d meet my soulmate.” He leans back in his chair, giving you his full attention. In the best way possible, it makes you really nervous. There is something so unique about being watched by Yoongi. It is like he is truly seeing you and you aren’t sure you have ever felt so vulnerable with anyone. “I gave up.” You admit in a soft voice that makes Yoongi melt. You see it in the way that his eyes soften.
“People used to plan their lives around soulmates and now people give up their soulmates for whatever life they already have. It's like they are so scared of disappointment that they won't let themselves wish for the mere possibility of something better.” Yoongi’s voice is really nice. You wonder if he would consider recording an audiobook. He has the voice for it. “But… I’ve always dreamed of meeting my soulmate.” Yoongi’s confession makes your eyes snap up to his. A part of you wants to hide, worrying that you won’t be able to meet his expectations. On the other hand, the look of kindness in his eyes makes you think that he may just be a kind man. So, you find yourself wanting to trust him.
“Relationships aren’t easy. Soulmates don't guarantee anything.” You voice shakes a little bit and you hope Yoongi doesn’t realize but based on how closely he is watching your face you bet he does. He nods quickly.
“You jumped to relationship quickly” His eyes look playful as he watches you, so you know that he is teasing you. Briefly, you realize that he is trying to make you feel more comfortable. It’s working. “Oh? No relationship is fine for me too.” You keep your voice light so he knows that your teasing him and not serious. You are also fighting a smile that you know he can see.
Yoongi fights off his own smile as he watches your eyes shine. You look happy and it makes him happy. “Wait.” His voice comes out strained and it makes your heart skip a beat. “Relationship sounds good. Great actually.” He talks quickly as he watched you smile as his words. God, he would do anything to keep that smile on your face.
You breakout into a fit of giggles and it has him stopping. It’s like Yoongi’s whole world stops in that moment. He finally understands what all the historians are talking about. He doesn’t know how he thought that he was happy before because it’s in this moment that he realizes he will never be happy again if you aren’t in his life. He doesn’t know how he could go back to his normal life if he you left him. It is in this exact moment that Yoongi realizes that despite just meeting you, he would do anything for you.
He is already writing a album in his head. He wonders if it would be to bold to title it “Hani.”
“Relationship sounds good to me too.” Your voice is shy and it makes Yoongi want to wrap you in his arms and shield you from everything that could ever hurt you. You are too precious for this world.
The others watch the two of you from their table. They aren’t able to hear anything, but they don’t need to because they can see the big smiles on both of your faces. Neither of you have stopped smiling since you sat down together. “I’ve never seen Yoongi look like that” Jin states. The others simply nod, keeping their eyes on you and Yoongi. They don't want to blink and miss a part of your love story.
“They’re already in love.” Minji hasn’t stopped smiling since she heard the word soulmate. Minji has always loved the idea of soulmates. While she and Namjoon have been in a relationship for years now and she is absolutely in love with him, she has always loved the idea of soulmates. The idea that there is someone else out there that is meant for you. Someone that is your other half. Out of the two best friends, Minji is the romantic.
So now that you and Yoongi are soulmates, Minji is ready to live out her dreams of seeing soulmates fall in love. Many best friends might be jealous, but Minji loves you so much. She also knows Yoongi.
Unlike most people, Yoongi has always held out hope that he would find his soulmate. He has a file on his laptop of songs dedicated to his soulmate and love of his life. He hadn’t even met you yet and he was already in love. Minji knows that Yoongi is going to love you in the best way that he can. He is going to pour everything into your relationship. He would do anything to make you happy. To make you smile. To protect you.
Minji is overwhelmed with happiness. She feels so lucky that she gets to witness you be loved by someone like Yoongi. Minji also knows that while you are scared of love, you give everything you have to your relationships too. You and Yoongi are alike in that way.
You don’t have many friends, a fact that you aren’t ashamed to admit. You don’t have many friends because you value friendship so much more than most people. When you commit to a relationship, platonic or romantic, you give everything to it in order to maintain it. You understand how much work it takes to maintain a relationship, so when you commit you hold yourself to a high bar.
Minji isn’t sure if there is anyone better out their for either of you, you both seem to fit together perfectly. But that is the whole idea of soulmates, right? That you complement each other completely. She wipes a tear from her eye which catches Namjoon’s attention. Ever the attentive boyfriend. He reaches over to grab Minji’s hand, knowing that quiet reassurance goes a long way.
“I’m so happy that I get to witness their love.” Minji’s voice holds so much emotion in it. Namjoon smiles at his emotional girlfriend. He is so in love with her, its almost overwhelming to look at her.
“He is going to love her so much.” Minji smiles back at Namjoon.
“He already does.”

Rewatched weak hero class, and I can not stop thinking about how people change based on other's perspective of them. I'm specifically talking about that hospital scene where sooho calls sieun warm-hearted. Yes, he was always warm-hearted, but I think even he didn't know that about himself, and I doubt he has had many relationships where he could express that side of him. You can see how much he took that comment to heart from the way he treated his friends in the episodes after that. You can visibly see him become softer around the edges whenever he is with his friends 🥹.

SO THIS IS LOVE — HEESEUNG ONESHOT
“i’m serious. do you want to be my valentines?”
synopsis : Having a crush on a close friend was a nightmare of yours. Even though you didn't want it to happen, it did. You continued to crush on him in secret, not knowing he was interested into you too. If he asked you to be his valentine's day date, what would you say?
pairing : co-worker!heeseung x co-worker!fem!reader
genre : fluff, friends to lovers
featuring : sieun from stayc
warnings : mentions of overworking here and there (reader), pecks, lmk if i should add some more!!
word count : 5.4K+
author’s note : i def struggled a bit but i managed to complete it!! this took way longer than expected + 5.4K+ words??!!? that’s a lot then i planned but 😧 sorry if there’s any grammar / writing mistakes in advance! hope you enjoy <3
1 - A WEIRD FEELING
He was unique. You were drawn to Heeseung for no apparent reason. Love? Not your greatest forte. Although being in a relationship appeared burdensome to you, you were curious about what it’s like. What it's like to tell someone you love them. Or, how it feels to refer to someone as your partner. You had imagined being with Heeseung before, but your mind couldn't wrap around it. You truly ended up falling in love this time—you couldn't help it.
Only around him, you had a particular feeling all the time. Only with him, the butterflies in your stomach seemed to increase every time. Yes, you liked Lee Heeseung, a close friend of yours. You felt strange because you've spent your entire life rejecting affection. Why? It’s not like you hated it; you just didn't know how to handle it. It was way too overwhelming.
Have you ever had a crush on someone? Yes, but not any significant ones. They always seemed to not be interested in you anyways. It didn't bother you much. It was just that when you were younger, everyone would discuss their dates or talk about how much they admired their crushes. Although you were aware that you shouldn't feel upset, you still felt out of place. But, you knew love would come to you one day. Just one day.
And it did. Your heart keeps beating heavily for Heeseung. When you're around him, you always complain to your close friends about having a strange feeling in your stomach. Or how you felt yourself out of breath when you attempted to speak to him. Considering that he’s one of your acquaintances, it would be difficult for you to act normally around him. Your friends were shocked when you finally developed feelings for someone. At first, they didn't believe in you, and truth be told, neither did you.
You've never felt like a blushing mess around a guy like this. Your friends also observed how you behaved around him, so you realized you were in trouble. But it's alright, emotions can fade with time, right? At least that's what you hoped.
2 - ANOTHER DAY AT WORK?
At your home, you are currently scurrying everywhere. Were you about to be late to work again? Sadly, yes. Okay, but you stayed up late last night watching a show. Don't blame your alarm clock for it; it is ultimately your problem.
You made the decision to skip breakfast since you didn't want to miss the train. Fortunately, you managed to get to the station in time. You're lucky. 9 am, and the train is crowded, as usual. All the seats were taken, leaving you to stand up the whole way there. It's okay; you didn't care honestly. You only cared about getting to work on time and maybe even seeing Heeseung when you entered the building.
9:30 AM. You're on your way to the company. You finally reached the elevator and pressed the button, out of breath. As you walk in, you press the floor number where your office is located. A familiar figure appears as the door is about to close. To keep the doors open, you quickly press a button. Heeseung was the person in question. He releases a sigh of relief and thanks you.
"Thank you yn." he checks his watch, "I'm glad I didn't have to run and drop my coffee to get on the elevator with you." You both exchange smiles.
Heeseung breaks the silence, "Did you have breakfast?" His concern made heat rise up to your cheeks. It felt like he actually cared for you, with all the daily check ups he would do. Whenever he had the time, he would always shoot a text message to see if you've gotten home safely or had a meal. You cleared your throat and responded back.
"No, I haven't." you noticed Heeseung's eyes get wide. "Not even a drink?" You give him a no in response.
He shook his head and said, "You should eat breakfast, yn. How else will you stay energized throughout the day?" He was cute as you listened to him blabber about the importance of having breakfast.
The elevator door opens, you and him walk out at the same time. As you're walking to the office, he taps on your shoulder. He extends his coffee towards you, causing you to make a strange expression. He realizes you don't understand what he's trying to do, so he places the cup of coffee in your hands.
"Have it." You said before he walks away, "wait what-"
"You need it more than me. I ate already so, coffee is the least I could give you right now."
"No really it's okay—"
"I insist."
He comes to a halt as you are taken aback. He smiles as he turns to face you. "Just accept it. Think of it as my treat?” he waits for you to reply. You give a slight nod, making him smile. “Let's get to work before our boss yells at us." He motions for you to walk with him, causing you to rush over. He chuckles as you blush without his awareness.
3 - HE’S JUST THAT GUY.
You went straight to your desk when you walked into the office. You couldn't stop grinning about your short interaction with Heeseung earlier. Sieun, a coworker, noticed your cheerful demeanor. You didn't notice her sneakily go behind you as you sipped your drink.
"How come you're so cheerful on a Monday morning?" Sieun's voice jolted you out of your seat, nearly spilling your coffee on your shirt. She ignores your stare and settles back to await your response. You didn't respond to her, causing her to furrow her brows slightly. It made her think, prompting her to exclaim.
"Do you finally have a boyfriend?" she asks, pointing at you. You slapped her hand away, giving her another glare. "Will you lower your voice?" you asked, "And no, I don't have one."
Sieun sulks her way back to her desk. But, she's back in less than 5 seconds to question you. She turns to face you, making you wait silently to see what she wants.
"Do you like Hee-" you quickly cover her mouth with your hand. She notices your motion and slowly smiles. You quickly move away from her, pretending to sort through the stack of papers on your desk. "It appears that yn has a crush," she teased. In embarrassment, you groaned and messed up your hair.
Sieun is amused by your current state. She straightens your hair and assures you that having crushes is normal. "What do you like about him?" she inquired. You sat up and considered it. You were always asked that question, but you never really answered it clearly. Is it true that it was love at first sight? Not exactly, but it could be. His smiles? No, there had to be more to it. Should there really be a reason why you liked him if everything about him was perfect? Sieun flicks your forehead, bringing you back to your thoughts.
"Stop thinking too hard about it. You really don't even need to have a reason to like him. If you think he's pretty then there you have it. Even with no reason, I can tell you like him a lot. You guys would look cute together."
"Oh my god Sieun stop it."
"Just being honest!"
You fix your gaze on Heeseung, whose desk was in front of your row. You noticed him completely absorbed in his work, typing away at his computer. You noticed how his glasses complemented his face and how his black bangs fell over the eye.You liked the way he pushed his glasses up and his hair back when focusing. That was enough to convince you to fold for him. Who knew you had a thing for guys with glasses? Heeseung catches you staring at him, making him wave slightly at you. You immediately broke eye contact, cursing under your breath. You were caught staring at him once more. How obvious could you possibly be?
You're still at the office, overworking yourself yet again. It was always a problem for you, and it could never be resolved. You were passionate about your work. It was always important to you, causing you to work on projects weeks in advance or assist with important events. Your dedication had undoubtedly resulted in unhealthy habits, which you needed to solve. It was, however, difficult. So, you're in the office at 11 p.m. You sighed with relief when you finished your report. You stood up to stretch, then your gaze was drawn to Heeseung's desk. His belongings remained in their place. His work was still there and so were his personal belongings. Hm. Weird. He usually gets home around this time.
You go to make yourself a cup of coffee as you pass by his desk. You notice him near the printers while waiting for the coffee machine. You hurried back to your desk after quickly making your drink. Heeseung, unfortunately, observed your movements. He isn't surprised to see you working late at night again. Almost everyone knows you work the hardest; you certainly deserved to be named employee of the month. He's smiling because of your dedication to the team.
When he has finished printing his copies, he returns to his desk. Due to the cold weather outside, he notices you don't have a coat. He becomes concerned when he notices you packing your belongings. As a reflex, he grabs his jacket and holds it in his hand, wondering if he should give it to you. Was he always like this? He assumed it was just because you were his friend, but it could be much more. Why would he give up his coat for the sake of a friend? He has no idea; perhaps you are special to him. While you had an obvious crush on him, he was still figuring out his own feelings.
He approaches you, ignoring his thoughts. What exactly does he want from you now? You try to divert your attention elsewhere—it was unsuccessful. Heeseung hands you his jacket but you refuse. "There's no need, Heeseung—I'll be fine out there! It's also your jacket, I don’t want to take something you need. " You said in shock. "I drove here, are you taking the train? I just need to turn on the heat in my car. It's quite cold outside." He elaborated. "Unless you want a ride?”
He laughs at your nervous expression and as you take the jacket he offered you. "I don't want to be a problem, so..." You mumbled something. "Yn, you're never a bother. It's the least I can do for you once more." He returns to his desk. He calls you again while packing his belongings. "Let's walk out together and then say our goodbyes."
He walks alongside you while you finish packing. He rushes to open the door for you as you get closer to the exit. You shyly thank him before leaving. The silence is evident as you make your way to the elevator. The only sounds heard were the elevator opening and closing, so it's a calming silence. No one bothered to initiate the conversation, leaving him to fidget with his watch and you to fix the jacket he gave you.
Ding!
He waits for you to exit first as the elevator door finally opens. He comes to a halt and turns to face you. He smiles and gestures to his car in the parking lot. "It appears that we must part ways." He takes his car keys out of his pocket. "Will you be there tomorrow?" "Yeah... " you nod slowly. “I'll see you tomorrow. By the way, thanks for the jacket." Heeseung hums in response, “I hope you reach home safely!” He sprints over to his car, waving his hand. You chuckle at him and wave back.
You smile as you walk away from your workplace. The cologne scent was noticeable on his jacket. You couldn't believe he offered you his jacket, having you turning red not because of the weather, but because of his kindness. You knew you'd be thinking about it all night, let alone telling your friends about it. Just why couldn't he be yours already?
4 - THE JACKET
You've only had 5 hours of sleep. You didn't want to get out of bed because it was too cold. As you walked, you collided with your desk, causing you to groan in pain. You rubbed your knee as you made your way to the kitchen. Making toast with jam, you remembered Heeseung's words, “always make sure to have breakfast.”
You checked the time: 8:30 a.m. You dashed out the door, wearing the nearest jacket you could find. You had to wait 30 minutes for the next train. What else could possibly go wrong with your day? You've finally arrived at your workplace, rubbing your eyes as you walk to your office. You notice Heeseung as you sluggishly make your way to the elevator. You quickly fixed your appearance and walked towards him.
You greet him, and he gives you a surprised look before looking away, leaving you perplexed. Did you have something on your face? Did you look that bad this morning? He returns your gaze while clearing his throat. He pointed to your jacket after you made eye contact. When you look at the jacket you're wearing, your eyes widen from shock, and you become fully awake. His jacket is the one you're wearing right now. It’s the same one he gave you last night.
You decide to take the stairs before he says anything. As you rush up the stairs, you remove your jacket. You hear him calling your name yet you avoid him. You made sure you got into that office before he got onto the same floor as you. Sieuns, you were met with a familiar pair of eyes as you entered, out of breath. She looks at your exhausted state, confused.
You neatly folded Heeseung's jacket and placed it on his chair. Sieun notices, smirking slightly as you walk to your desk. She shuts down your laptop before you can begin working. You let out a sigh and locked eyes with her.
"What did you just walk in with?" Her voice had a playful tone to it. "It's just a misunderstanding. He gave me his jacket because I was going home by myself without a car." You confirmed it to her once more.
"It's clear that he likes you back!"
He clearly likes you back. Those words kept repeating in your mind, forcing you to think hard. Does he really? He was always such a nice guy; there's no way he only treats you this way. You were convinced that you were the only one who felt anything. But you never thought of him actually liking you. No, Sieun was simply trying to keep your hopes up. She’s just joking, obviously.
"No, he doesn't!" Sieun gives you a glare after you clear your throat. She thinks about what she wants to say before her anger takes over. This time, she was going to get a bad headache because of you—the roles had been reversed.
"What kind of guy gives you his jacket on a COLD—emphasis on COLD—day? That's only if you're in a relationship!"
"Please don't boost my ego up."
"I'm just saying you might have a chance! Make the most of February 14th when it arrives. Time flies by!"
Gosh, feelings are sure complicated.
So this is love? If so, you suddenly feel the need to explore it more.
5 - HE MAKES YOU GO CRAZY
Everyone else is clocking out except you. You're working on something for the company while Sieun packs her bag. "Yn, don't overwork yourself." She warns you before leaving. You hum quietly to her, knowing you won't listen to her words.
You look at your watch, and 11:30 PM appears when you click on it. You sighed and went back to work. To stay awake, you begin blinking frequently and rubbing your eyes. A quick nap wouldn't hurt, would it? You rested your head on your desk, dozing off within two minutes.
12:45 AM. The timer on your phone went off. You sluggishly pressed the snooze button and began to straighten your posture. You felt something heavy on your shoulders as you stretched from your nap. The scent of cologne is strong, similar to what you smelled yesterday. You're smelling things now, too? When you saw the black jacket, you grabbed the item from your shoulders. Didn't you just give him that jacket back? What was the meaning of it being draped over your shoulders?
Confused, you noticed a sticky note placed onto your laptop. You took the note in your hand, slowly smiling as you read it.
“Working late again? You should really take care of your health! Also, keep my jacket, it looked nice on you when you walked in today :)
Get home safely~
From the jacket owner!”
He surely knows how to drive someone crazy.
6 - THE MONTH OF LOVE
February, the so-called "Month of Love," has already arrived. There must be Valentine-themed decorations everywhere you go. Colorful hearts and pink and red themed foods begin to arrive. It was the month everyone was looking forward to—at least for the people who had been taken.
When you walk into the office, you notice heart streamers hanging from the ceiling and desks covered in red and pink paper. Everyone was chatting, which you'd assume was about their potential Valentine's date. Sieun appears in the distance, wearing a noticeable heart headband with hearts that can swing from side to side.
"You're certainly wearing a lot of pink today," you observe as you place your bag on your desk. "The company went above and beyond for this."
"I know right? They most likely did this to persuade people to ask each other out."
"Oh, Sieun, be quiet."
“Whatever!”
10:30 PM. People are crowding around the sweets-filled table. For the month of February, your company always provides coffee and other desserts. Perhaps it was their favorite month as well. Sieun is long gone—she went to get some sweets for herself. You looked at the crowd, unsure whether you should go get something. You open your laptop and decide not to satisfy your cravings. Someone eventually calls out your name in less than 5 minutes. You look around and see Heeseung approaching you.
He smiled as he placed a paper cup filled with coffee and a chocolate donut topped with the words "BE MINE?" written in pink frosting.
"I didn't notice you over there. So, I got something.” You stared at the sweets—you felt like exploding on the spot.
"Oh, and is that how you like your coffee?" He appears pleased with the sweets he chose for you, believing they were ideal for your tastes. "I remembered."
"How so…?"
"There was an elevator incident. Remember? My memory is pretty good—well in my opinion.” You nod slowly, looking at the cup, fighting the grin off your lips.
Before he walks away, you quickly call out his name. He's looking at you, waiting for you to say something. "I appreciate the coffee and donuts, as well as remembering my favorites."
"I see that you like chocolate frosted donuts! I'll keep that in mind for the next time." He gives you one last smile before entering the meeting room. You grabbed the coffee, it was still warm. You took a sip from your cup of coffee. It was exactly the same as before.
Heat began to rise up your cheeks and ears. "Don't panic, yn. Don’t. Remain calm." You returned to normal by whispering to yourself. Sieun shouldn't think of you as a blushing mess. Just maybe February was the month you were looking forward to the most.
The first week of February went by quickly. During that week, Heeseung would always leave sticky notes on your desk while showing no signs of making a move—or so you thought. You knew you shouldn't have had such high expectations, but you were disappointed. Maybe Heeseung did all of that because he considered you a friend? You sighed as you walked to the printer.
Sieun is the first to notice your mood shifts over the last week. She's right behind you, requesting that you print a few papers for her. She asks you a few questions as you slowly press the buttons to get the printer to work.
“YN, why are you so down today? Well, I mean for the past week?”
“Was it that noticeable?”
“Oh trust me it was.
“Oh. Well, then I guess yeah. It’s nothing serious though.” You waited for the printer to print out the pages of your report.
“Do you have a Valentine’s date yet?”
You sighed and shook your head slowly. "I don't believe so. To be honest, I'm not sure." Sieun looks at you strangely, unsure what you meant. She moves quickly over to your side to whisper something.
“Aren’t you and Heeseung a thing?” You considered her words carefully. Were you? Do friends allow each other to wear their clothes, write them sticky notes with heart drawings on them, or even remember their favorite things? Yeah, it’s not uncommon. You've come to the conclusion that you're going to be nothing but friends to Heeseung. And, to be honest, you might be fine with it. Maybe. (You lied! You wouldn’t want to be stuck in the friend zone forever—nobody does).
You shrug and grab the papers from the printer as your response. You walked away from it with your friend. What you didn't realize was that Heeseung had been listening all along. He didn't mean to, he just needed to print some papers. Yes, he did hear a few whispers here and there, but not clearly. But he did catch you saying you didn't have a Valentine's date. For some reason, he is content and feels compelled to change that. This time, his heart is beating faster than ever.
7 - WAIT WHAT?
February 13TH. There is one more day until Valentine's Day. You could just ask him out at this point. You're only afraid of being rejected. The only advantage is that you'll finally figure out the answer. Should you approach him? Or not? You're nervous about approaching someone and saying, "Do you want to be my Valentine's date?" That’s just scary.
You were getting tired of seeing these heart decorations and posters with "Happy Valentines!" written on them. It's as if it's telling you to confess while knowing you'd be too nervous. But that's okay—another Valentine's Day without a partner is fine, right? You still had your friend! You tried to reassure yourself, but you kept feeling bad for no apparent reason. You've started to develop a dislike for February, which is stupid.
You're in the break room, leaning on Sieun's shoulder. You fixate on one spot while she texts her partner on your phone. You were bored; time seemed to drag on forever, yet the days flew by way quicker than you thought. "Why don't you ask him out?" she asks. You sighed deeply and shrugged. "I'm just scared," you say. "Don’t be! It's okay to make the first move every now and then." "That's the thing—it’s difficult to be the one to ask the other person out."
"What is it that makes it so difficult?" She puts her phone down to listen to you speak.
“Heeseung? He's far too attractive. Quite out of my league I must say. If I try to maintain eye contact and speak with him, I'm going to end up a blushing mess. I'd probably puke on the spot."
Sieun laughs at your remark, and just as she's about to say something, someone walks in. When you see Heeseung walk in, you let out a quiet gasp. Oh, how you hoped he didn't hear what you were saying. You noticed him standing there awkwardly, as if he wanted to say something. "May I speak with you, yn?" Your friend pushes you in his direction, wishing you luck. You followed him out of the room, dragging your feet across the floor, unsure what would happen next.
You find yourself in a different room, with just you and him. You wiggle your fingers as you wait for him to say something. You noticed his ears turned red, is it that hot here? You can tell he's nervous because he cleared his throat. But why so?
"Okay, so where do I begin?" He sighs, which makes you nervous. Was he going to turn you down even if you didn't ask him out? "Would you like to be my Valentine's Day date?"
You were dumbfounded. Did you hear that right? Your heart began to pound—you couldn't hear your voice over the sound. You clear your throat as you notice him waiting for your response.
“Are you serious? Like you’re not joking?”
“I’m serious. Do you want to be my Valentine’s?”
Before you let that opportunity go to waste, you quickly nod. When you accept his confession, he smiles and breathes a sigh of relief.
"Wait- so you've always had a crush on me?" You asked him a question, and he nodded in response.
"I’m assuming the donut wasn’t enough? Sorry about that. Thought my signals were clear—I guess not.” He chuckles a bit. “I overheard your conversation with Sieun about not having a date, so I seized the chance to." He maintains eye contact with you.
"I was terrified, just like you. I'm afraid of being rejected. But I heard you mention me in that break room, which took away all my worries." Your stomach started forming butterflies as you watched his big smile form.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting.” Your stomach begins to churn with butterflies, just as it did when you first met him. You thoroughly enjoyed this sensation. You wished this kind of feeling would never leave you, especially around Heeseung.
“Let’s go back to the office together?” You nod, walking next to him.
“So, did you mean what you meant back there? You know, me being attractive.”
“Oh god, please don’t bring that up. I’m embarrassed.”
“Don’t be! And to be honest, you’re way out of my league. Can’t believe I’ll spend Valentine’s Day with someone like you.”
“Is this your way of making me feel good about myself?” You giggled at his words.
“A pretty lady deserves all the compliments, don’t you think?”
You notice your friend giving you a thumbs up as you blush over Heeseung's remarks. You give her one back, indicating that the conversation went well. She rushes up to you and interlocks arms with you. You motion to Heeseung while Sieun drags you away. He chuckles and waves back.
"You're going to have to explain what happened." Sieun rushes over to your desks, eager to hear everything that occurred earlier.
You were a happy mess—even when you got home, you couldn't stop smiling. Finally, you like February and the entire holiday, February 14. Maybe this is your favorite month right now. February 13, the day he asked you to be his date. It has to be fate.
8 - THE SPECIAL DAY.
You got up extra early to prepare. You were only doing it to look good for yourself—and maybe for him as well. You were putting different outfits together, unsure of what to wear. Should you dress comfortably? Perhaps just put on some jeans and call it a day? Or how about a simple dress? You dug deeper into your closet, hoping to find a suitable outfit.
You decided to wear a heart-printed dress to get into the Valentine's Day spirit. You completed the look with a flounce shirt, pearl earrings, red heels, and a white headband. You were certain that everyone would be dressed up, so you didn't have to worry about being the odd one out. Putting on one swipe of lip gloss, you walked out the door. You were way too excited for today.
You were in such a good mood. As you walked by, you smiled and said hello to everyone you saw. You even whistled a love song as you passed through the city. As you waited for the elevator, you hummed your favorite song. Someone tapped you on the shoulder, and you turned to face Heeseung. He was dressed simply in a buttoned-up shirt and black pants. He wore the same glasses that made you smile every time you made eye contact.
The way he walked over with gifts for you in his hand made him look great. You stared at the rose bouquet, the letter peeking out, and the box of chocolates he got you. He hands them to you with care, pleased that you are pleased with what you have received.
“You look great today.” He says this with a visible flush on his face. He couldn't keep his gaze fixed on you for long. You thank him and even compliment him on his appearance today. He was more nervous than you thought, despite his adorable appearance.
You walk into the office together, eliciting teasing and oohs from everyone. You saw Heeseung's friends congregate around him, congratulating him. You approached Sieun and placed the gifts on your desk. She looks at you in awe, admiring how well you put together your outfit.
"You look stunning, YN!!" she exclaims, causing you to smile. "Heeseung is a lucky guy."
“Oh stop it Sieun. You look great too! I’m jealous of your partner~” You make a lighthearted remark. She lightly hits your shoulder before pulling you into a hug.
"I'd be keeping my eyes on you if I were Heeseung."
"To be honest, nobody here could beat him."
"All right, loyal lady—we love to see it." You smiled as she spoke. "Let's go get some more sweets!" Sieun made certain that you were coming along this time.
Heeseung tried to stay with you as much as possible throughout the day. Whenever he needs to go into a meeting room for a quick discussion, he quickly places a sticky note on your laptop. You'd always smile when you saw his doodles or kind words. He would always try to make eye contact with you and would be all giggly when you paid attention to him. How can someone be this perfect? Ask Heeseung that.
It's already 11:00 p.m., and he persuaded you to leave at the same time everyone else did. "If you don't mind, I'll drive you home." You nod and slip your laptop into your tote bag. You grab the gifts he gave you and trail him behind. He opens the car door for you, ensuring your safety. He rushes over to the driver's seat and starts the engine.
You were able to maintain a conversation in the car. Heeseung would ask you random questions, and you'd respond with an answer—you did the same. The advantages of working together for a long time. You were laughing the entire time. He comes to a complete stop because of the red light. The only sound was soft music coming from the radio. You both look at each other, intending to do something.
“May I?” He asked for consent. You said yes, prompting him to give you a quick peck on the lips. When the light turns green, he smiles and resumes driving. It's as if he's finally accomplished a major goal of his. Did he actually just kiss you? So quickly? He's a dream come true. You looked out the car window shyly, surprised at how beautiful the night sky looked with all the tall buildings.
He arrives at your apartment and parks nearby. "We've arrived." He looked disappointed, as if he wished he could have spent more time with you. You asked him one last question before leaving his car.
“What are we?” He responds quickly to your question with a smile.
"My love, let's go on a proper date tomorrow." You flushed as a result of the sudden nickname. “My love?” He sees you cockily raise your brow, laughing at your reaction. "Does that mean yes?"
"Of course," you says. You return your gaze to his. You moved closer to him to kiss his cheek. "Not on the lips?" he says with a big smile.
"Bye, Heeseung." He laughs at your quick reaction. He watched you enter your apartment safely before driving away once you were inside. He couldn't stop smiling, and you couldn't either. He couldn't wait to meet you on a date. He made sure he arrived home safely so he could call you.
So this is love. You finally found the answer you were looking for. The event you'd been waiting for your entire life finally occurred. Younger you would’ve been shouting in joy (I mean, who said you weren’t doing the same thing right now?) You wished that this moment would never end. You wish your relationship with Heeseung was still full of love. It just so happened that it did. What does it feel like to finally have your happily ever after? It’s great isn’t it?

study, study, mwah - part two
kdrama! sieun x extrovert! affectionate! reader
// reader is feeling conflicted about the way sieun treats their relationship (what is their relationship, anyway?) here is part one!
tags: very light feelings of low self worth, kissing obv, reader kinda being rejected (not really, it's just sieun being kinda dense lol), neck kisses, sitting on someone's lap, mentions of kidnapping (as a passing joke)
note: hope you enjoy!! updates have been slow lately because i'm not as obsessed as i was before LOL, BUT DW, I STILL LOVE HIM VERY MUCH <3 anyway i barely edited this i hope theres no mistakes again sjsjsjs
♡
you listened to the soft scribbles of the boy who 's lap your head laid in, the background noise doing nothing to calm the churning in your stomach.
you sighed, scrolling through your phone, then quickly shutting it down and laying it onto your chest. you sighed again, a little heavier than before. noticing he didn't even flinch once again, you changed your tactics, instead shifting to stare at his stomach instead of up at the ceiling. you raised your hand to brush away the bangs that grew to cover his eyes. "im bored, sieun." you mumbled.
"you should finish your homework then." he swiftly replied. he didn't need to see your face to know you were pouting.
after the... exciting visit you had with sieun a few weeks ago, he slowly began to open up even more, and show parts of him you hadn't seen before, including his (slightly) more talkative as well as sarcastic side. it was almost like a reward for doing so well on the exams that happened a few weeks ago- you'd gotten an A!
you'd like to contribute your higher-than-expected grade to his kisses.
the thing is, ever since that day, you hadn't had anything like it with him, or anyone. only the occasional hugs at the door, but you hadn't kissed him since then.
"but.." you trailed off, not really having a valid excuse. "..do you really enjoy studying alllll the time?" you mumbled.
he shrugged, not bothering to give you a response, simply continuing his work. you frowned, sitting up to move out of his lap. sieun ceased his writing, waiting as you sat up from his lap before resuming his work, not giving you the attention you wanted in order to finish the problem he was on.
you crossed your arms. you knew you were being kind-of annoying, but you'd been waiting for him almost two weeks. he had been intensely studying for another exam (technically a practice), and you felt neglected. then again, did you really have any right to feel this way? none of you had made.. 'what you had' official. you just wished you could kiss him without him feeling uninterested again.
as one last attempt you caressed his cheek, gently turning his face toward yours and placing a soft but quick peck onto his lips. relishing in the way he looked at you while up close, you hoped he would kiss you this time, but he just blinked at you before turning back to his work.
you felt disheartened at his reaction, to say the least. you felt it was selfish to be behaving the way you are, and suddenly you were swept with guilt and slight embarrassment at the way you'd been acting; obviously he didn't want you the way you wanted him.
going back to your seat next to him on the floor, you went back to your work and began finishing you what you needed to do. it didn't take long before you finished your work, standing up and packing your things, you announced your departure. "i'm gonna go.. since i'm finished." you told him, not noticing how he glanced up at you.
"okay," he got up to see you out, even though the door was just a few feet from where you were sitting. you made your way to the door and put your shoes on after taking off your slippers, unlocking the door. as you were walking back, you barely glanced at him, "bye," you walked off.
he blinked in slight shock at your attitude, no hug? no 'love you'? he wasn't particularly bothered by it, just.. it felt like something was missing. he tried not to think about it too much, remembering the work he had for himself at the table. however, no matter how long he wanted to shake it, he felt as if something was off. like the world he felt in suddenly felt... off. wrong.

a day, two, then three days passed without you stopping by his house. he noticed you'd stopped texting him altogether, and started avoiding him in school and cram, choosing to switch seats with another student.
he tried reaching out to you, but, no response of course. he also tried to wait by the snack station you usually visited with your other friends, but he noticed you weren't there either.
meanwhile, you hid behind your friend in the line. "get off me, [name]! why're you even avoiding him anyway?" your friend tried to shake you off, but you remained attached to their shoulder. "pleaseplease, just for today! i don't want him to see me!"
"you've said that for the past three days! ah, i'm starting to get annoyed at you laching onto me- it makes my shoulders sore and i can't sleep at night!" they whined. "i'm sorry! it's just.. he doesn't feel the same way as me, and i don't wanna embarrass myself more than i already have! i want to put a distance between us."
your friend rolled their eyes. "clearly he feels some type of way towards you, he's literally waiting for you! i've never even seen him in the cafeteria without suhoo and bumseok before!"
you heave a heavy sigh before detaching from them, "and clearly you only want to fuel my delusions," you turn around, "i'm leaving to hide somewhere else."
they shake their head, watching you leave out the back of the cafeteria. "so annoying..." they jokingly stated as you walked off.
your friend made it to the end of the end of the line by themselves and buys their snacks, going to sit at their usual table before remembering the boy that was standing there, waiting for you.
trying to avoid him, they quickly moved past and made their way to the table before stopping in their tracks. “god..” turning around they walk back towards sieun, tapping his shoulder. “uhm.. sieun?” he turns around. “umm.. so, [name]’s been avoiding you. they think you don’t feel the same way about them.” he stared for a second before responding with a simple “oh,”.
he begins to walk away before your oh-so-loyal-and-faithful friend catches his shoulder, “yahhh, wait. im not dumb, i can tell you like them too. i have a plan.”
-
after another long day of school and cram school, you receive a text from your friend, wanting to hang out. you were really close to saying no, but they begged and promised you matcha tea and gimbap. you weren’t the biggest fan of matcha tea so you wondered why, but you accepted anyway.
“[name],” your friend grabbed your shoulder as you were waiting outside the cram building, and you jumped, quickly turning around. “you scared me!!” you pushed your friend and they laughed at your discontent, pulling out a cloth from the plastic bag in their hands. "listen, i know it's weird, but i promise the payoff will be amazing and you'll thank me." they stood behind you, getting ready to tie the blindfold over your eyes. "wha- what?" you stepped away in surprise. "what are you talking about?"
they moved closer, "PLEASE [NAME], don't you trust me?"
you blinked at them and slowly nodded. "...okay." you stood in front of them and closed your eyes. "really? that was fast," your friend tied it around your eyes, mumbling something about how fast you'd get kidnapped before tying the final knot and taking your hand. "let's go."
leading you through the streets at a fast pace, not abiding to the way you screamed "SLOW DOWN OH MY GOD," multiple times. you were led for about seven minutes, before reaching two sets of staircases, and for some reason, they seemed... familiar in a way.
reaching your destination, your friend stopped abruptly, and you heard some faint knocking before a door was opened. "all yours." your friend said, placing the bag they'd been carrying in your hands.
"wait, what?" you looked towards the direction of your friend's voice, suddenly concerned. "you're leaving? where are we?" your heart began to beat faster- was it a mistake to trust them? you've known them for several years now, they wouldn't do anything completely irrational.. right? you tried to calm yourself with those thoughts before you felt your blindfold being removed. you didn't get a response before the cloth fell from your eyes, and the person pulled back from you.
well, you shouldn't be surprised.
there stood sieun, and you remembered the flights of stairs you climbed, and as you looked around, your friend was nowhere to be found.
"you can come in." he looked at you, his eyes flickering to your lips for half a second before meeting your stare again.
you sigh heavily and barely look at him before moving past and into the apartment, sieun closing the door behind you. you take off your shoes and step into the house slippers that have been unworn for the past three days, pulling off your bag and you taking tiny steps towards the couch and table, feeling awkward. you don't know if he knows how you feel; not just about him, but this whole situation. you've avoided him for days and for anyone of you to expect things to just go back to normal would be completely and utterly irrationa-
"sorry." you feel his arms wrap around you from behind, and his warm breath at the back of your neck. "i didn't know if you wanted to..." he trailed off, hoping you understood what he wanted to say. in that moment, all your embarrassment and regret melted away.
you loosened his grip around your waist, turning around to meet him, taking pleasure in the way he retightened his hold on you. he looked into your eyes as you hesitantly cupped his cheeks, his eyes glossed over as you maintained eye contact. "if you're really sorry.." you took a deep breath to calm your nerves before opening your mouth to speak again. "you should be my boyfriend." you spoke at a low volume, almost as if you didn't want him to hear your suggestion.
moments passed as he didn't say anything, and you were about to remove your hold on his face and step away, but you saw the way the corner of his lips perked up, and he blinked before nodding once, letting out a quiet but affirmative "mm,".
you smiled at him and your chest felt fuzzy with affection and warmth. deciding to take another leap of faith, you opened your mouth once more, barely able to articulate your words to busy smiling at his response. "can i.. can i kiss you?"
the tiny smile on his lips remained as he nodded once more, and you could barely contain yourself as you leaned in to place a kiss on his lips. the lips you'd yearned for ever since you first made contact with them.
his lips felt complete with yours, and finally, everything in the world seemed right again.
the two of you stood there for a minute, and as much as you didn't want to, you broke apart from him, squishing his cheeks in your hands before walking towards the couch, gently pulling him along with you.
the two of you sat on the floor, partially leaning on the couch behind you for comfortability. limbs not yet entangled, his hand remained on your shoulder as you pulled him impossibly closer to you, wrapping your arm around his waist and tugged. he didn't hesitate to closer, and you filled in the gap to the point where your chests were almost touching.
you took in the atmosphere, it feels like your life stops when he kisses you. in that moment, you felt like there was no school, no world, only you and sieun. kissing him felt like heaven, and you were so sure you've never wanted anything more in your life.
your eyes remain closed when he stops, pulling away from you. he dips his head down, not taking any chances to rest before beginning his attack on your neck. you lightly whined at the contact, your volume dropping when he stopped. "did i hurt you?"
"no," you quickly shake your head, already wanting him back on your neck, "i don't think you could ever hurt me,"
he hid his face in your neck, resuming his previous actions, nipping and biting at your neck. you brought your hand to his head, the pleasure of his actions making you shiver.
the two of you stayed there for a while, and as time went by, you ended up being the one in sieun's lap instead of the other way around. you felt bad for interrupting his studies (even though that's what got you into this mess in the first place..), your chests facing each other, sieun with his front facing the table, and you with your arms laying on the couch, his back leaning against the couch as well. you insisted he do what he needed while you sat there, keeping him close to your heart, every now and then leaning back to get a look at his face, sometimes calling him cute just to see the way his ears lit up when you went back.
"im sorry for ignoring you for so long," you heard the way his scribbles haulted this time, listening to your words. it was only three days, but it felt like a week. "i think my friend already told you, but... i was embarrassed at the way i acted... i... like... no, i really like you, sieun."
he sighed with contentment and responded, "it's okay.." he waited for a bit, trying to gather the courage to finish, "i like you too." the way his short response gradually decreased in volume with each word he spoke calmed your nerves and you smiled, pulling back to watch him again, leaning forward and placing your lips on his.

"Hi Y/N, welcome to Dwight High School!" said a girl with bright blonde hair and warm smile, greeting me right when I stepped out of the principal's office. "I'm the school's president Park Sieun, and it's my pleasure to give you a tour today. Let's get started!"
I was relieved that my time with the principal was finally over, he was beginning to annoy me with the school's history and how it was formed. Being a new student is tiring
And boring
I nodded along as Sieun explained every little detail, and when Sieun said "everything," she really meant it
"This is your locker" she said with a bright smile as she pulled the locker key out of her pocket and handed it to me. "I'll take you to the cafeteria next."
In my opinion, Sieun was a nice girl. I can see why everyone respected her so much. Everyone greeted her with smiles and happy looks every time they turned a corner or passed someone else.
She's the school's president after all
However, this all felt like an act. The whole nice, bubbly girl personality felt fake, like a mask being worn by a much harsher person beneath. The kindness did not feel like genuine concern. I'd notice after every smile she gave to everyone an eye roll came after it
But I could be wrong who am I to judge
"Alright" Sieun said with a clap of her hands, prepared to explain the cafeteria. However, she couldn't finish her sentence because someone shoved her hard in the shoulder, making her stumble a bit.
I looked behind her, my eyebrows furrowing in concern and surprise. I was struck by an amazing sight.
Three beautiful girls stood behind us, their flawless appearance capturing my attention and making me unable to look away. They were breathtakingly perfect, their beauty overshadowing anything she'd previously seen.
They were wearing the school uniforms like everyone else, but somehow they made it look so expensive
The smirking tall girl who probably shoved Sieun smirked at her "Sorry miss president, I didn't see you there." she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she made it clear that she had done it intentionally.
The two other girls began laughing and that was it for Sieun, she was fuming
"I can report you three-" Sieun attempted to make her way outside through the crowd of students, but the dark haired girl who stood in the middle of the two other girls blocked her path. She moved over to Sieun's left, completely preventing her from passing. The girl's smile was gone now
"You and I both know you dont meet the basic requirments to be the president of this school" she said coldly and even I was scared for Sieun "So know your fucking place"
She then turned to me and looked "New kid hm" she paused "Cute bag" was all she said and then they were gone
"That fucking bi-" Sieun stopped herself, taking a deep breath as she tried to regain her composure.
She then turned to look at me me smiled slightly. "Sorry about that."
I mumbled a "it's okay" as my attention was drawn to the three girls who were sitting in the middle of the cafeteria. Everyone seemed to be looking at them with different emotions, ranging from hatred, jealousy, admiration, and even more.
"Who are those girls?"
Sieun scoffed at her question. "I thought it was obvious," she responded with a dismissive tone.
"They go by many names, people call them the queen bees, the cunts, the plastics, you choose. But my favorite one is the nasty bitches."
Sieun spoke with pure annoyance in her voice "They make everyone's life a living hell. The three of them talk shit about each other but still stick together. They will do anything when it comes to ruining someone's day, whether it's gossiping about them or spreading rumors just to ruin them."
"The pinkish girl, that's Jang Wonyoung"
"She's the quiet one. She usually only follows what the other two do. Don't get me wrong, she's still a fucking cunt but I think it's all just an act for popularity." Sieun stopped and thought about it "She's a whore she fucks every man she sees I wouldn't be too surprised if she fucked her friends boyfriends
"Don't say that" I murmured
The blonde shrugged "It's true. Anyway she usually does the dirty work. There's a rumor that one girl called her friend annoying, and she ordered Wonyoung to get them suspended. Wonyoung then stole the school's winning medals and put them in the poor girl's locked locker"
"The blonde one, that's Park Chaeyoung also known as Rose"
"She should be grateful of her boyfriend, she spends all his money. Her favorite thing? To spread rumors so be careful." Sieun told me "She's the devil's spawn"
Sieun continued "She's the most backstabbing bitch you'll ever meet. If it means ruining your entire life, she'll do it in a second if it'll get her something good. The only goal in her life is to be like her friend, the one with brown hair. Everything her friend does is her life, she emulates everything from her. It's like they are the same person, she's so dependent on her."
Both our eyes moved to the only one who was left
"Speaking about the devil, that's Takahashi Yui"
"The leader of the group, as you might say, for some reason, people idolize the ground she walks on. Whatever Yui wants, Rose and Wonyoung will immediately agree to it. They're her dolls." Sieun's tone turned darker as she spoke about the Japanese girl. "She's the fakest person ever, just because she has money she thinks she can buy everything and everyone."
Sieun took another deep breath, the anger in her voice growing more intense with each word. "She's the worst person out of all of them, if you just look at her the wrong way, she'll use all of her influence to destroy you. She is the true devil of that group"
"Wow" was all I could say as I watched the Yui and Womyoung laughing loudly at Chaeyoung who was actively teasing the poor girl who was forced to sit with them.
My attention was caught by a loud burst of laughter coming from across the hall. I turned my head in the direction of the sound and saw a group of people laughing and having fun, seemingly without a care in the world.
"What about them?" I ask pointing at their table
Sieun turned to look and she almost melted "Oh they're the golden squad"

Weak Hero Musings (9): On Jihoon's and Pilyoung's Human Decency
SPOILER ALERT
During Baekjin (Donald)'s funeral service episodes, several characters surprised me with their human decency. I already posted about Dongha, so now I'll talk about Jihoon and Pilyoung (Phillip).
Jihoon stayed with Seokhyeon (Kingsley) and Hakho (Jake). To wear that one-striped yellow armband means that he shared Seokhyeon and Hakho's physical and mental burden, as the deceased Baekjin's brother. Which was why he was seen exhausted outside of that charnel house. It wasn't just the gloomy atmosphere, he must've lived very roughly in preparing the funeral for days. But he didn't complain of it, and he stayed.
To be fair to Jihoon, I knew that there's something good in him because he genuinely cared about Jeongyeon (Jack) and sincerely trusted Goseon. Contrary to what strangers might think about him, he didn't care that much about money. But I thought that his own strength was the only thing that really mattered to him.
Or was it because of this mindset that he was willing to lend his strength to Hakho and Seokhyeon? "I'm strong enough to help you both a little bit?" Was that it? Isn't that still decent and kind, anyway?
***
Then there was Pilyoung (Phillip), the guy who started out as a showy opportunist. He'd come a long way, spending more and more time alone even though outside of the school he was still wearing that façade of the popular scary thug who had eased his way into building networks. Probably because, unbeknownst to himself, Pilyoung no longer cared for the privilege of things, just for things that mattered.
This gradual growth was what led him to coming alone to Baekjin's funeral. Pilyoung couldn't make it because of his emotional turmoil, but the fact that he was willing to go there in spite of past events, and without any rewards, is a testament that all that Pilyoung was missing about the Union was the feeling of camaraderie with Baekjin (and the others).
The fact that Pilyoung spent time personally grieving for Baekjin while also wondering about Sieun's absence is an indication of tremendous emotional growth to me. It's so satisfying to see that in a character and a human being.

ep 1-9 thoughts
Gwanhee: Why do so many of the girls like him? Well it's because he's tall, successful, and goofy. That'll get you a looooong way especially with pretty girls who are used to dating pretty boys with no substance (think pete davidson). Imo he's very rude and cocky but it's a front for obvious insecurity. He always has to be the center of the room to make sure he isn't ignored or overlooked. His ideal match is someone who can also command a room (minji), accept his ruff exterior (hajeong), and not take his words to heart (hyeseon). Say what you want about the guy but he was right about making this season interesting!
Hajeong: Girl stand up. You can do sooooo much better! Her and gwanhee would be a cute couple if he didn't have a fragile ego. Unfortunately hajeong is too mature for that. She's settling big time and she'll realize that looking back. She only wants him cuz her options are slim on the island.
Hyeseon: She's so pleasant! I love how all the girls brushed her off but she's unbothered and winning.
Gyuri: She tried to be the Jia of the season and it made her look dumb. Looks can only get you so far babe.
Miyeon: Red Flag! Everyone wants to talk about gwanhee but this girl is the definition of toxic. Love bombing then cold shoulder then jealousy and guilt tripping and sabotage. It's too much, I hope she picks therapy at the end.
Jinseok: I love him. Best man of the season. Funny, friendly, and fine as fuck.
Sieun: Um, she's too pretty to be doing any of this. I keep seeing wonyoung and jennie's offspring and it's distracting as hell. Glad she has a cute lil crush, hope it works out for her.
Minwoo/Miwoo/??: Boring.
Minkyu?: He's cute and seems so nice! The girls are sleeping on him!
Habin: He doesn't get screentime cuz he's fucking weird. His head grew ten sizes when all the girls picked him and he just gives awkward vibes.
I don't even know this mans name: The real estate guy. I'm so sorry you had to come on this show bro. Stick to tinder my guy.
MINJI: Look I have so many thoughts on this girl. Number 1, she IS the rizzler. Like y'all are talking about ew cringe but men eat that shit up! She knows how to play the game and she's a master at her craft. Also I'm really tired of people calling feminine, seductive women pick me girls. There is nothing wrong with having confidence. They're all literally there to flirt so why are you people acting scandalized that she's flirting, that's the whole point. I don't think the helicopter scene was disrespectful. She chose minkyu cuz they both like other people and were just going as bros like hajeong and habin. Also why tf would she have to be respectful of gwanhee and hyeseon's date? The whole point of the show is to steal people's dates! They're competing! She cried cuz she was upset, let's stop demonizing women for showing emotions especially crying! I feel like she is gonna get more online backlash than gwanhee and I really hate that.

I know I just did a little rant about Sooho so let me just talk about Sieun and why he is the way he is (or why I THINK so)
It's pretty obvious his parents neglect him, probably as early as childhood based on that flashback scene. I don't remember which parent said it but one of them most likely did not want to have a child and that outlook can definitely affect the way you raise your kid.
Based on that flashback, they were so unprepared with the thought of Sieun ever getting hurt (he had a broken arm I think?) I get being worried, but that was not worry to me tbh, it was more like they didn't expect raising kids to be so troublesome which is such a ridiculous notion! They get hurt, they get sick and you can't just expect a child to raise themselves no matter how smart or good they are. They need guidance! They need love!
And I don't remember what ep it was but when the dad asked Sieun if he still fell asleep in class or something like that and Sieun responded 'I don't do that anymore'. Idk that made me think that Sieun had like a chronic sleeping thing that he probably managed on his own just so he wouldn't trouble his parents. And the way Sieun at that age, understood how much 'trouble' he seemed to cause his parents, I think that's what started his very 'cold' and 'unfeeling' nature.
And from then on out, Sieun decided not to be a bother to his parents at all. That also made me think...okay, if he didn't want to bother them...then did he want to make them proud of him instead to show that he wasn't gonna be their problem?
And I get it, he's so me lol. Because I try so hard not to be a bother to not just my parents, but honestly any adult authority figure in my life. But the diff is, I kind of strive for that validation whereas Sieun...doesnt seem like he does, or at least not as much as he thought it would. Like what are his goals? Did he even want to go to a big college and be a big time 'something'? I don't even think we learned much about him and his motivations because it's true that he's so studious and gets so many awards and good grades and yes his parents praise him...but Sieun doesn't even look like he wants or cares about those praises anymore.
On the first ep. when he got that award and showed his dad, his dad seemed like he was genuinely proud of him but his reaction was just...😐 perhaps Sieun knows that his purpose in his parents eyes is to generate good grades and be a good kid so he just does that. Like 'ok I've done my purpose, on to the next task' and honestly that's so fucked up.
Anyways, yeah. I feel like he lost any sense of purpose. Maybe back then getting good grades and validation from his parents meant he wasn't being a bother to them and he prolly liked it but after a while, it kind of just burnt him out. Also maybe after his mother left and his dad started being away more often for work, it just didn't seem like it mattered to him but he still keeps going because it's the only thing that will grab his parents' attention. But again, at the same time, idk if he still even wants their attention. He doesn't even want to try anymore
When he was eating with his mom, you could tell the mom was distracted and Sieun must have felt so discouraged because he must have felt like a task to her, like something on her to do list to check off because how easily she pushes aside Sieun's presence and assumes he was done eating. Like she was already standing up, like she was waiting for an interruption. Sure, Sieun never said anything or expressed his needs but only because his parents never tried to understand him in the first place and idk...be an ACTUAL PRESENT ADULT FIGURE IN HIS LIFE!!
Sieun is such a complicated and interesting character and my only wish was for him to snap at his parents at least once. He almost did it with his dad at the hospital but he held back which he shouldn't have!! Yell at them! They deserve it! (hopefully we'll see that in s2)
I never really knew I would be so attached to him. Usually I get drawn towards the Sooho-type (and dont get me wrong, I love him too) but something about Sieun just makes me want to wrap him in a blanket and never let him go and give him the proper love and care and attention he deserves!
#plus park jihoon is such a brilliant actor#he just elevates the character#this was another long one#it's just mostly stream of consciousness bc like I said before#this show has occupied my brain and I want to get it out of my system!!#weak hero#weak hero class#weak hero class 1#yeon sieun#park jihoon

SYNOPSIS sunghoon used to seek help from his hopeless romantic best friend that is blindly in love with him. unintentionally hurting her slowly in the process. now he sees her worthy of his love, is it too late? or does he have a chance to redeem himself and have her back real this time?
CHAPTER ONE ☆ written + media
prev — masterlist — next
i. seeing him
12:47 pm. You were seen rushing out of the cafeteria, a few mutuals saying hi here and there. Running from building to building, you finally reached the building of the literature club.
Waiting for the elevator, you let out a sigh of relief when it opened. As soon as you lifted your left foot to step inside, another student went inside.
Park Sunghoon.
Of course you knew him, who wouldn't remember the person they spent years with, the person that made your heart beat faster than it should. The person that stood by your side yet left you alone at the darkest of time.
The two of you entered the elevator, with you letting him go first. Hands going up to click the floor button, bumping with each other, Sunghoon retreated his arm as he let you take the lead. Knowing you would be going to the same floor he opened his mouth to talk, "So.. literature club huh?"
You hummed, not wanting to talk. You didn't have grudges, at least you think, but you didn't want to talk to him. Maybe when the time is right. When you've already cleaned up the wound. You haven't healed completely and it wouldn't help putting salt to it.
"Why did you join?" he asked, not sensing the lack of attention from you. Maybe he did, maybe he just acted like he didn't. He wanted to hear from you. It's been years, years since you've had a word with one another. Years since he has lost you, completely.
You didn't get to answer as the elevator door opened, going out first you checked the time. 12:51 pm. You walked at a fast pace, for two reasons. mainly because you didn't want Park Sunghoon to catch up with you, and because you didn't want to be late.
ii. the meeting
Entering the room, you sat at your chair besides Jay. As you plopped down, he offered you his chips. You shook your head as no. Karina looked at her watch, "We're just waiting for Sunghoon then we'll start."
Sunghoon who was after you then opened the door, apologizing for almost being late. Karina shrugged him off, letting him get off the scolding you all would get for being late, all for being a new member.
"Alright, so next week, the foundation month will start. It'll be a busy and eventful month. We'll need to make plans now to start preparing, we'll have booths again so any suggestions will be great." Karina raised her eyebrow scanning the room, as if silently asking anyone to speak their mind.
"How about marriage booths?" Sumin gave Giselle a look of disgust, "That's boring and too common." Sieun agreed as Giselle scoffed. "Fine."
"For booths, we could have people write letters either anonymously or not, then read them during a radio show?" Sunghoon despite being new, got the interest of everyone in the room.
Karina's eyes sparkled at the idea. "That's a good one, maybe you, Yn and Jay could be the hosts of the show."
NOTE : not much speaking from yn and only one quiet interaction from jayn but what do we think of chapter one?? please look forward for the other chapters:))

A Grab for Control: A character study on Beom-seok
The discussion of the character Beom-seok is one of large controversies. He did many actions throughout WHC1 that had both positive and negative effects. Overall many fans do not like this character because of the role he played in Suho’s assault and consequently coma, and the general betrayal he made everyone go through. In this specific post I will be talking about the abuse that Beom-seok faced, both physical and emotional, and how that played a large part in his actions. While the explanation of Beom-seok being abused explained a lot of his actions it does not excuse them.
Around the middle of season 1 we find out that Beom-seok’s father adopted him for a political advantage. The effect that this alone has on Beom-seok's psych is great, he has known for his whole life that the only reason he was even adopted or had a family was for the gain of someone else and had no relation to them wanting him as a person. To add more onto this it is shown that Beom-seok was highly physically abused, there is also the large implication that this has been going on since he was a young child. This abuse was first shown after Gil-soo is arrested and was shown as some sort of penance for causing trouble. We don’t see much more abuse first hand as the show goes on but there is a strong indication that it was not a one time thing.
Beom-seok as a character is a very quiet, and meek person. He avoids causing issues and often does lots of things to please other people, including drugging Sieun. On top of this he was also the victim of bullying in both his previous and current schools. In general it shows him as a person who gets pushed around a lot and someone who would avoid confrontation at all cost.
I find that often in tv shows and movies the effect of abuse in characters is shown two ways; either the character is reserved and a trouble maker or they are a perfect person who avoids trouble. Beok-seok throughout the shown run was both of these archetypes. In the beginning of the season he was reserved and did his best to please people. At the end he was causing trouble, becoming violent and lashing out at his previous friends. The main question I see lots of people have on this character development is why he started to go down this darker path. I cannot say for certain as he is a fictional character and because of writing bias he may have acted a certain way just because the author or director decided he should. Beok-seok starts this drastic change in episode 5, mainly when Suho confronts Beom-seoks bully’s and forces them to apologize to him. At the start Beom-seok was not completely against this and started to retaliate on his own, as soon as Suho put a stop to his progressing violence though he started to have issues. Beom-seok specifically stated that Suho was ‘ordering him around’ and that he couldn’t tell him what to do.
It may be a big reach but I believe that the trigger that initiated this switch in Beom-seok’s mind was the fact that his life didn’t have enough violence in it. Beom-seok was raised in a violent household, was bullied his whole life in and outside of school, but then it all stops because of Suho and Sieun. To anyone this would seem like something good but to Beom-seok who is only used to constant violence it was probably more disconcerting than anything else. The best way to connect this situation to something more commonly known is the relationship of a person who had an abusive parent and they end up in an abusive relationship. The abuse is a well known part of their life and they are unable to disconnect who they are as a person outside of that abuse, because of this they often find another situation where they have that familiarity.
In conclusion, Beom-seok in his childhood was a constant victim, he was also a victim through his school bullying. Once he was no longer facing that constant abuse, he didn't have the familiarity that he had his whole life. This huge change in his life compounded with the trauma he went through in the first few episodes of season 1 made Beom-seek feel out of control. In response to this feeling he started to lash out at his friends and other people to try and get that feeling of control back. The difference with this is that instead of finding familiarity in becoming a victim he started to become the abuser. Whether or not Beom-seok was the victim or the perpetrator he was still in a situation that he was familiar with. This grab for control does not excuse what Beom-sell does but it does offer some insight on why he acted the way he did, especially his reactions after causing Suho to go into a coma.

In so many ways, having Carissa there, standing in the middle of his kitchen and teasing him about getting rid of her panties, as well as kissing him made Seung Hoon realize just how much time they'd lost acting like they didn't simply fit well together the way they did. It was silly, now that he'd come to think of it. "Wouldn't want it any other way." He older male mumbled against her lips, gently squeezing her hips before letting her go so they could actually eat.
At her question, he had to pause a little. Sam didn't really have either for breakfast, but, since they were going to take a walk with Nabi later, they could stop by the groceries to buy whatever they'd need for tomorrow's breakfast. "Actually, I'm more of a toast and scrambled eggs kind of guy, but the real question here is are you more of a french toast or a pancakes kind of person?" He ought to know if he was planning on repeating this over and over again. "My sister Sieun often leaves some clothes in her room, so I might check for pants that would fit you. As for my shirts... They kind of look better on you. Have you seen yourself?" At the end of his question, Sam let out a little teasing whistle, offering her a little smirk.
One, two, some bites later, he found himself wondering something about Carissa. Something they hadn't talked about on their date. Something Sam really wanted to bring up. "Jokes aside... is this—" He began, motioning his finger between himself and her and continued, "—something you'd like to continue in a more exclusive setting? I mean, we've been doing this casual thing for a while now and, well... last night's date put some things in perspective for me. First, I didn't know you were actually open for dating, but... since I was wrong, what do you say?" Pause. "Would you like us to keep seeing each other more exclusively and see where it goes?" / @lcvelctters
the woman couldn't help but laugh, "you mean what did you do to my panties? you got rid of them. you're good at that." she pointed out, teasingly. carissa loved how much fun the two of them had, even outside of the bedroom. he made a good point when he asked if he'd mind, especially since he was the one inviting her to spend more time with him. "you did," she paused for a moment, fingers grabbing his chin and pulling him in for a sweet kiss, "so, i guess you're stuck with me for a little longer."
she got comfortable at the table after pulling away from him and smiled slightly, "tomorrow? i like that. are you more of a french toast kind of guy or do you prefer pancakes?" she was good at both and wanted nothing more than to treat him to something he enjoyed. she assumed that all this meant she'd be spending the rest of the weekend with him. at least, that's what she was hoping for. "that's exactly what it means. i wasn't prepared for a sleepover so i guess i'll be lounging in your t shirts the rest of the weekend."

ISA teasing maknae reader on vlive with tickles and tells them not to laugh bc "don't let Swith know you're ticklish" or something like that!!! (Exrra points if it's in revenge for something the maknae did recently!)
“Don't let swith know you're ticklish."
Ler!Isa Lee!Reader
Warning: Tickling
Isa: I'm bored, let's go live.
Y/n: Okay.
You've been teasing Isa all day, which has been fun. Isa has been known to be the most affectionate out of stayc, that's why you haven't given her hugs all day. Whenever she tries to hug or kiss you deflect it. And you succeeded, since its already nighttime and Isa hasn't gotten a single hug. You shoot her with random kisses but she starts whining about how she wants to give you love. Isa got annoyed, which barely happens. When she gets annoyed it either happens for five minutes or she asks Sumin to get revenge on you. But since she's the only one here it's her responsibility as to what punishment she wants to do. She sat in her bed for hours thinking about what to do until she saw the art supplies under Sieun's bed. She grabbed a clean paintbrush and felt how soft it was. As of now she thought of a plan to get revenge of you, which she likes how it doesn't require too much strength. It requires some light tickling that'll drive you to insanity.
Isa: When will we have our comeback? It's a secret...
Y/n: Shouldn't we just say we don't know? Because we never got a meeting on another comeback.
Even on vlive you were annoying the hell out of Isa. The vlive was on audio so the fans couldn't see you. You both talked about how the members were doing and how some of the members dyed their hair. You were about to spoil your new hair color but you could tell Isa has gotten enough annoyance for one day. After talking about that events that happened Isa thought about doing ASMR, which explains the paint brushes she had on her lap. You were confused, was she going to brush the ground? Her hand? You were clueless as to her intention of the brushes. She got the thick brush, running through your neck as a test run. You almost made a sound, but didn't. She smiled, her arm making the way to your waist. Your shirt is suddenly lifted up, the brush making contact to your ticklish tummy. The brush went back and forth, up and down, covering the sides and back too. Such light touches yet it was tearing you down.
Isa: For a girl who acts tough your definitely very sensitive on your tummy.
Y/n: Hehehehehe stop...I thought this was ASMR hehehehe
You two were whispering, making sure no one in the audience can hear you. You were biting your hand in hopes that'll make it less ticklish. Then I giggle accidentally slipped out after Isa teasing you with whispers. You cover your mouth afterwards, making sure no giggles disrupt the quiet vlive. Isa saw that you were still laughless so she switched to light tummy tickles making you drown in giggles. The audience was intrigued to know why you were laughing. You laugh went on and off. The crowd kept hearing giggles every few seconds while Isa couldn't keep her tickly fingers off your tummy. You were trying to tell her to stop without being too loud.
Y/n: Isa, you can tickle me afterwards. Just not when we're doing a vlive in front of a thousand people.
Isa: Don't let swith know you're ticklish then.
Isa maybe a big cutie but she isn't afraid to tell everyone that paint brush tummy tickles make you laugh. You were afraid that J would know and pull 3AM tickles on you. So you finally gave what Isa wanted, affection. She repeatedly kisses your cheek while poking your tummy. You keep snickering in her shoulder, making sure no one hears. But she wants everyone to hear you laugh. She asks the audience what kind of ASMR they wanted to hear. The audience got the message that you were ticklish and wanted more tickle related things.
Isa: If you want to hear her giggles as ASMR, say yes.
Isa was given that chance and now she took it. She was the happiest baby with everyone spamming yes in the chat. But after you ran away as Isa rushed in to get you. There was no point in running away when she had Sumin and J on speed dial. She asked the audience if they wanted fingers or paintbrushes for the ASMR session. Everyone was divided but Isa saw more comments on both instead of choosing one. She got the thick brush again to use on your sides, then she used light tickles on your tummy. A good combination of light tummy tickles. You were trying not to laugh or admit how ticklish it was but Isa keep kissing your tummy and by then you were laughing. There's something about Isa putting her face near your tummy that sends you into shocks of laughter.
Isa: Why are you laughing? I haven't done anything to you yet.
Y/n: No raspberries!
She was saying it quietly in hopes that she doesn't expose another secret. Isa kept doing the tickle ASMR with you giggling softly, even if Isa was nudging you to laugh louder. It was like you were playing that game where you get punished if it's loud (whatever that game is called). In order to get you laughing she used a small brush to tickle your belly button. Even if you cover your giggles it's still loud enough for the fans to hear. The vlive went on for awhile, before Isa decided you had enough tickles for that hour. You two said goodbye and ended off the vlive. Isa had loads of fun, you...had something. You did have fun but it was shocking how Isa was bold enough to say you were ticklish to swiths. Minutes later the others returned home, you were thinking the girls didn't watch the ASMR tickle vlive Isa held. That's until Sieun mentioned something about her paintbrushes.
Sieun: If you want to use my paintbrushes tell me so I join in.
Uh oh...
#i made this in like four hours so here you go#also for the person who requested this um#pls be my friend#or anon bestis idk#bc this scenario was kinda cute#everyone have a good day#eat well#sleep well#do your hw if you have any#kpop tickle#stayc#Isa

july new releases!
i've picked 6 releases that i've listened to more than once and i'm ready to talk about them! i know there have been a lot more (chungha for example had one of my favourite album releases this month!) but i'm going to be talking about these 5 songs.
let's start off with....
Attention - New Jeans this hybe group caught me and my friend completely by surprise. i didn't really keep up with hybe's new gg since i thought they wouldn't debut one right after le sserafim BUT the girls are incredibly talent and at such a young age too. (that itself has a lot of problems i could talk about but i plan on writing a HUGE post about that in my drafts). their music has a really nice calming vibe and really was refreshing after a lot of some pretty badass groups who recently debuted. it's like i got brought back in time to a completely different era with really simple mv and sound. it was comfortable and easy to get through which is definitely what i needed this month. according to a random article i found, the girls are also incredible at writing. I'm pretty sure that hanni and danielle both took part in the writing process for attention and hybe boy (not respectively, i can't remember off the top of my head who did which song). in general, this release was a really nice surprise for me haha.
Beautiful Monster - STAYC when i listened to the highlight medley this song (and their iconic signature "stayc girls it's going down) was the song i was most excited about. now the song itself really isn't anything special. pretty stereotypical pop song with verses, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, high note, etc. but the instrumental just adds so much flavour to the song. like in the verses, prechorus, and bridge it's rather calming. there isn't much going on in the instrumental at all but all of a sudden, without even the infamous "beat drop" the chorus brings in a lot of sound and noise to sieun and yoons strong vocals. yes i know sieun and yoon strain and are basically straining (i did musical theatre for a bit) but i feel like even regardless of that, the song does what it needs to do. kinda like stereotypes little sister. the structure of the song is a lot like stereotype but the sound is rather different (tiktok doesnt' agree)
Girls - aespa i get why people wouldn't like this song. there's a lot happening in it compared to illusion which i saw is what people like better. less is more in some cases. in terms of aespa they're always loud so maybe illusion is a breath of fresh air for people. however, i think that the way girls is written makes the song a lot better. there's so much more happening. illusion is quite a simple song in of itself. yeah the prechorus is really nice but so is girls. girls has so many different sounds, different compositions and it really highlights the girls vocal capabilities. in general, girls adds a lot more flair to a typical kpop structure that i think makes it just in general a pretty good release. is it my favourite? no but it's still good nonetheless. although i really only know about chorale structure in music, i think this song in general has a little more to give than the bsides on the album, which makes it imo a little better choice for the title track than illusion. girls is just a better suited for aespas loud and confident nature
Que Sera Sera - ily:1 i absolutely love this song. yes its plain, yes there's nothign much going on in the background but this song just brings me so much joy. the gfriend sound completely disappeared from kpop after they disbanded and it was such a shame. gfriend really made themselves using their brand of music because it was good. in contrast to groups that use loudness to make themselves known which is a pretty good strategy in making your group well known (there are really good loud songs, like girls by aespa for example haha) gfriend went for an ethereal, simple, and calming sound. I was really upset when this kinda got lost in the years but ily:1 is currently bring it back in their own fashion. they add a little bit of perkiness and cuteness to a really beautiful sound and i'm so glad that their company has decided to take them on this route. que sera sera has the gfriend sound in the chorus and so much added ily:1 flair too it. i think they're an amazing group and heavily recommend people to check them out
Last Sequence - WJSN cosmic girls finally had their long awaited comeback and as always they did so well. wjsn kinda has a specific sound about them that you can always guarantee that their music is really good. as long as yeonjung is belting her heart out, it's always going to be a good song. last sequence is obviously not an exception. it is a lot like unnatural but it surprises me in a lot of ways. the instrumental hits hard and overall it's a good song. wjsn is one of those groups where i can't word how their songs sound like not because they leave me speechless it's just really hard to describe and make comparisons. the wjsn sound is really different in each song they put out but you can tell that like "oh this was made of wjsn" because there's a distinct quality to it that makes it wjsn.
Villain - PIXY originally i was only going to do 5 because most of my posts are 5 themed but then i remembered what probably is my top song this month and i realized i had to talk about it. pixy is largely known for their heavily themed dark rock music and this is quite different from what their title tracks usually are. i am a sucker for good "rock" music in kpop so when i listened to this song i was surprised but in a good way. every so often, when a group consistently releases a type of music that's quite similar each comeback, i sort of get numb. so villain compared to like addicted it's incredibly subtle. but since it's subtle you can do so much more with it. so much more vocal tone and flavours can get added into the song, in order to make it still pixy level dark. because before it relied less heavily on the vocals of the girls and more on the instrumental imo. i think with a song that's more subtle, in order to make it dark they had to really use the girls vocal and really interesting autotune techniques which makes the song a really fun listen each and every single time i decide to loop it. go check out pixy they're one of my favourite groups out rn!!

THE ONE WHERE WE ARE COMFORTABLE
WTN WEEK 2021 → day seven (episode seven) Hiiii friends so I decided to talk about things that bring me comfort and for me the thing that brings me the biggest comfort is the friends I've made on this board. I spend my time talking to these four basically allllll day long. If you can guess by the graphic above on who is who, but they have become some of my best friends so *drum roll* please and let me tell you about the people i consider to be my f.r.i.e.n.d.s.
MY LOBSTER Apparently, I am someone who when they find someone they mate for life. When I latched onto Elle I latched on and didn't (lol won't) let go. Like when I say she is my person I mean it with every fiber of my being. She is the soulmate. My wife. My lobster. She is like that perfect pair of sweatpants that you know are dependable and can count on and you don't want to let go of. She's like the television show that you need to put on because you've had a bad day. She's the first person I call when disaster happens. When I am having a bad day she is the first person I want to talk to and 10/10 she can say something to make it better.
We laugh until we cry and she likes to yell at me... but 9/10 I do deserve it. So, it is valid. If you see me flirting with her on the server (no you didn't) it's mostly because I can't help myself. So... just divert your eyes. It's very cliche to say that your life has changed after meeting someone, but that's what it has done. I am a better person for her, I'm more mindful, more open, and I don't think there isn't a person on this board who wouldn't say that Elle hasn't changed them for the better. It is who she is. She leaves you with something to think about, she challenges you. She pushes you. She has a heart for those who are misrepresented and misunderstood. I swear if Elle had her own talk show I'd listen to it every day. The girl is *passionate* and that is one thing I can't help but love about her. She is passionate about diversity, about the people on this board, I have watched her struggle with some hard decisions this year and how it has affected her mentally, but she also rises from the ashes because she has to. I have watched her countless times put this site above her own needs. I have watched her struggle. I have watched her doubt (herself and her future) and I have watched her wonder if she is doing the right thing. I have watched her feel remorse and pain and I'm telling you if you do not think Elle cares about WTN and everyone on this board then you've not seen her struggle the way that I've seen her struggle. It's probably why I'm so damn protective of her, but I don't regret a single second of it.
Okay, I've spent this whole time talking about how great Elle is but I've not spoken about the writing. I've run out of room... her writing is amazing, she is the one person I can respond to no matter what day I'm having and no matter what ship it is. I love all of our threads and I'm always so happy and excited to see an elle reply in my alerts waiting to be read and responded to! I find it hard to wrap them because they are just so good! If I have a day where I don't feel like doing replies good chance I'll still pull up an Elle reply because it normally makes my day better 99.99999% of the time. The .1% doesn't exist, but it's including the slight possibility of error and the fact Elle will have something to refute that claim with.
THE GIRL I'D MOVE FURNITURE WITH I don't think there is anyone else I want around my side to do some of the heavy lifting and I don't mean that in the physical sense, but in the writing sense and the mental sense too (tho I don't need to see Kae in real life to know that she's strong). You know that saying about people who struggle in silence. I think that describes Kae because sometimes it's like using a crowbar in getting her to open up and to TALK. It is one of the most frustrating things. It's kind of like a treasure box when you have the box sitting right in front of you and it is impossible to open. Okay, half the battle was finding it. You have the map in front of you and when you finally find it, it is STILL locked. That's Kae. It was quite the struggle in getting her to be open to more plots like I knew where to find and how to find her, but actually getting to Kae felt impossible even though I had all of the directions in front of me. But once you put in the time and effort to get to know her.... like *really* know her, it's like discovering treasure. Not only is she one of the most dependable writers (like I said she will carry the heavyweight in all of her threads), but she is one of the best writers! I love reading her threads even if I'm not in them, they always leave me on the edge of my seat and that characterization *chef's kiss*. MAKES JOKES WITH BC HUMOR IS BAE Oh you know the one who tells the jokes when they are uncomfortable. It is a friends reference and the only one I could think of when I thought of Aria. She makes me laugh. She probably makes me laugh more than anyone especially during WTNWeek because of these videos. When I say read something in an Aria voice I mean it! She isn't really that awkward!! But I'm sure she'll say differently so YOLO. Aria doesn't know a stranger, she pops into your DMs and suddenly it's like you have known her all of your life. We have not known one another as long as I have known Kae and Elle, but she fits in so well. Her writing is beautiful and I love how she is in my DMs daily with inspiration for our ships. I started out with zero Aria ship and Aria made two new characters just to have ships with me and I love her for that. I can gush about how amazing she is because she is one of those people who will provide you comfort. If she knows you are having a bad day, she will send you something to make you smile and she'll remind you that she loves you. And I can't even tell you how having those videos during WTNWeek has made my days a little bit better! If I'm feeling frustrated or sad I just turn one on and it has made my day ten times better. It's funny how she is young, but she is kind of my teacher. She sends me videos to help me when I don't understand something and I am SORRY Aria because you've had to send a lot of videos lately, but I don't think the staff could have made a better decision in asking Aria to hop on board. She is always so helpful and the thing is -- she *wants* to help. She wants to pitch in. She always puts her best foot forward and I love that. And cand we talk about those posting and organization skills #swoooon MY SMELLY CAT In reality I am probably singing this song to Jasmine, but I feel like you'd join in sooo here we go. I wanna preface and say I am not calling Bela a smelly cat! But she speaks in references I don't understand sometimes and sometimes she talks about these weird noises she makes so I think this description is perfect for her. Bela came into WTN and I normally have trust issues BUT I trusted my gut and Prudy is one of my favorite characters on the board. We have been trying to get her cousin on board for as long as I can remember. Prudy deserves all of the good things so I really wanted Bela to stay on board. I threw her practically everything I could think of and I am so glad I did because it has allowed us to get close over the years.
Bela and I have created some fun dynamics over the years between readie being the superior of them all, but we also created dynamics that I never expected to create like Manny, Sieun, and Dylya. They have come to be some of my FAVORITE pairings. It's kinda funny we often joke about how we only have one ship on the board, but it feel like we have a billion. Bela always enjoys sending me music, it's like when she knows I need some writing music, and that's part of the ways she fits into my comfort. Bela is a listener. She listens and she is one of those people who are easy to talk to. I enjoy sharing headcanons and future headcanons and character ideas that we won't create but would like to! I like that she is open and she is honest with me - if she is having a bad day then she'll let me know. But I also think we've talked so much that I can just tell.We are comfortable with one another and I absolutely LOVE it.
I know confetti has been going on for a while, but there are not many people you write with and write WELL with but I have found multiple people I LOVE writing with and I absolutely LOVE talking to. I have found my person (lol more like loml), my partner-in-crime (like if I'm going to go to jail I need her in my corner), my cheerleader (and child), and my ship in the night (lol, we gotta be on at the right time and at the right time to talk).

hiii! can you make a scenario with sieun where reader (she/her) sees his wounds and helps him treat them and she scolds him for getting into fights. thank you in advance and btw i love your work!!
the flower and his bee
kdrama!sieun x reader
// read req!
tags: childhood friends to lovers, she/her reader (only referred to once, feel free to change it in the place of another), hugs, confessions, reader snaps at sieun, crying, angst -> comfort
note: i really like this one !! hope u do too :)
♡
the first time your best friend of almost ten years got into a fight was an extreme shock for you. you never knew him to be someone who engaged with talking, let alone an argument— in fact, the only reason the two of you were friends was because you’ve known each other since you were little kids. you don't think he would've talked to you otherwise.
you were in a different classroom than him, so you didn’t see it go down, but you did know he ended up with a bloody lip. when you heard from another student that there wa a fight, you didn’t care. like, at all. but when word got out that it was sieun, best believe you were the first out of the classroom.
after he was sent to the office and on his way back to class, the hallways were now clear— save for you waiting at his classroom door. when you heard footsteps coming your way, your head whipped to his direction, finding him there. you ran up to him and engulfed him in a hug, “oh my god, are you okay?” your eyes wandered to his lip, finding it still red. “you’re bleeding..” you frowned at him.
somehow, sieun’s fights become more and more common. he would text you everytime and you would dash to wherever he was and clean him (and his other friends) up. tending to wounds was something you were used to, since one of your guardians was a nurse, but as fight number two, three, four and five went by you became less worried and more frustrated. everytime you asked him what provoked the fight, he would just say “nothing.” or just be plain vague. you never push for details in fear of making him uncomfortable, but your patience was wearing thin.
“I got into another fight,” he texted you. you fumed at the phone screen. furiously texting back, you responded with “you come to me this time.”
the two of you have always been like a flower and a bumblebee, feeding off each other, not being able to live without the other, so when you first noticed he was pulling away from you, you felt devastated. these past few weeks he's been spending less and less time with you, and more time with his new friends. you couldn't help but feel a little jealous. . . he was allowed to have other friends of course, but knowing that didn't stop you from feeling the way you did.
minutes of you wallowing in your own anger allowed you to calm down a bit and instead decide what you would say when he arrives. you sighed as you heard the knock at the apartment door— he’s lucky you’re the only one home today or you would’ve just left him as is. (that isn’t true, you would travel to the end of the world for him, but you weren’t willing to admit it at the moment.)
opening the door you didn't bother even making eye contact before walking away. he closed the door behind him and locked it, slipping off his shoes, wondering about your aloof behavior.
you went to your room and into your bathroom, not having to shift around anything to find the supplies you needed, knowing exactly where they are since you used them so often.
you walked back into your room to find sieun standing there, not knowing what to do. "come here and sit down." you commanded with just as much coldness as you intended, turning around and waiting for him in the bathroom.
he sat on the hood of the toilet and watched you with those big eyes of his, watching as you opened the first aid kit and brought out the materials. he winced as you cleaned up his face with the rubbing alcohol, dabbing the cotton above his eyebrow.
it was completely silent, but sieun could tell you weren't happy with him. it's not like you were ever happy with him nowadays, but this time felt much different. "are you.." his words trailed before you cut him off, "no, i'm not okay." you frowned as you patted his wound, suddenly stopping. seconds went by and he looked up at you, then back down at his lap. catching a glimpse of his innocent eyes was what pushed you over the edge.
"why do you keep doing this to yourself?" you asked, voice wavering. you scolded yourself when you saw in your peripheral the way sieun whipped his head towards you at the sound of your shaky voice. "i know it's probably not your fault. i know you probably can't help it. i just wish.." tears welled up in your eyes and you didn't bother trying to stop them, knowing it'd be no use. they ran freely down your cheeks, non-stopping.
you had pent up so much of your worry and sadness over his injuries and it all came spewing out like clouds that had been saving evaporated water, waiting for the perfect day to let loose and rain down on the earth. your face scrunched up in anguish and your wrists shielded your face- your hands being occupied with the gauze and bandages. "i just," you hiccuped, your shoulders shaking, "i'm worried about y-you, and you don't-t tell me anything a-anymore. we used t-to talk a-about everything when we were li-little, but now you're completely shut o-off. what's going o-on, sieun?"
sieun watched you, his heart breaking a little more with each tear that spilled from your pretty eyes. someone like you didn't deserve to cry, let alone the cause being her best friend. he stood up and didn't hesitate to hug you, knowing that physical touches were a great sense of comfort for you. you also didn't hesitate to hug him back, your shoulders shaking with your sobs, burying your face into his shoulder. like a domino effect, your tears triggered his. how could it not?
the two of you stood like that for a minute or two, and as your cries gradually stopped, neither of you made any move to release each other. you stayed in each other's arms, emotions through the roof. your heart beat slowly, and with how close you were to him, you were sure you could feel his beating with yours.
"i've missed you," you whispered, breaking the prolonged silence. "so much. more than you know." you held him tighter as if he was going to escape from your side after you said that. he didn't speak, opting to nod softly, signaling he did too. you pulled away first and held him close to you, his face just inches from yours. just looking at his face could make you cry. being so lost in him, his presence, you couldn't stop the first thing that popped into your mind from spilling from your mouth, "i love you."
before you could even regret it, he responded, "i love you too," almost as if it was second nature. you pulled him back into your arms, words failing you. it's not like any of you had anything left to say, anyway. all that mattered was that you were together, standing together, feeling together, loving together.
