So when the 3 move in together how much input do each of the boys give on decor? Did they have to settle with like “this is your room to do whatever you want to” for each of us? Like an office concept for each of us? Or did they all just let one person do most of it? Or were they all cohesive and in sync abt decor?
I feel like they each have a wall/section of wall dedicated to each person’s achievements like displaying some of bobs navy stuff and Rhett’s riding accomplishments and our whatever we do. And in the middle they would maybe have a picture of the 3 of them (I feel like their marriage certificate because they can’t get legally married was scribbled onto the back of a paper place mat (in crayon) in a restaurant and they could 100% edit one to look better but they are all sentimental abt it)
Also I feel like the favorite toys have been almost included into the decor of their room just because they get used so often that once they get cleaned it’s almost silly to put them away away
Tumblr media
I like to think its a mix of separate rooms and collaborative decor!
Bob's got a personal office, which is where a lot of his decor winds up migrating to. He had a nice setup in his old apartment, but a lot of the decor was very neutral. He was never really home often enough to see a point in settling on a theme, so he kept buying things that would match just about anything. Which means a lot of his things will fit right in with Reader and Rhett.
Rhett never had much to his name; his biggest possession was his truck, and his two-decade-old bed was not worth hauling. All he brings (aside from clothes) is a bunch of plaid blankets, a couple of pictures, an Xbox, a stereo he found at a yard sale in 2011, way too many CDs, and a wooden boot jack.
A lot of it falls down on the Reader's sense of style and how they decorate. If they bring a bunch of decorative items, then chances are the decor is going to compliment that by default; if not, then they take some time to explore different decor styles to figure out what suits them the best. Regardless of how they decide, it's a group effort.
Everyone gets to have their input on the main, overall style, but everyone has their "own room" in the house to retreat into. Bob's got his office, Rhett's got a cozy game room down in the basement, and the Reader has their choice of what room they have. Marrying two introverts naturally leads to a value of separate spaces, places to retreat and express without unintentionally stepping on the foot of another.
I love the idea of them having a big collage wall right by the front door, full of photos of them from over the years, with their wedding photo in the center. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't already warp this mythical world into allowing a trio to be married 😭
The toys just hang around in the open until one accidentally winds up in the back of a picture dfkjhg. After that, a drawer is cleaned out in the bedside table for the favorites because Bob would never recover if he'd sent that photo of his new shoes and someone had pointed out the bright blue strapon in the background...

Dressing the Despencers, pt 2
Part 1
And so it continues. With the supportive underkirtle complete and worn at an event (under a different kirtle of mine) to make it relax the rest of the way, I got the measurements for our Edward and Thomas Despencer and started marking and cutting materials. While I originally believed I would have more than enough of the bronze patterned fabric, I was proven quite wrong and resorted to piecing together several gores and small extensions in the front of the body for Elizabeth and Edward Despencer. The planned change in the last post (bronze body with blue sleeves for Edward and green sleeves for Thomas) was shifted again, back to my ideal of particolor for the married couple and coordinating for the brother in law. I also realized halfway through marking that I was 2 gores and a sleeve shy of enough of the blue, which led to much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I found a similar-enough-at-a-distance blue satin at OKC fabric market, pictured on the right. Flash makes the differences obvious, but there will be very few flash photos taken of this. It'll be fine. I'll be fine. I'm so normal about this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because all 3 outfits have similarly sized pieces in similar fabrics, I've taken to organizing them in 3 individual cubes to keep everything straight. It has been a real game changer, and I would recommend it to everybody.
Tumblr media
Having cut out and serged everybody's blue and bronze fabric, I dug through my stash of scrap linen to make the lining. I worry the bronze especially won't hang exactly right without lining. Additionally, I'm making the cotes for Edward and Thomas Despencer for a pair of high school seniors who, while I hope they wear an undertunic at the NMF, I plan and prepare for them not to do so. For reasons I cannot fathom, I chose not to serge the lining pieces for Edward Despencer's cote, seen below. Yay, hand finishing.
Tumblr media
I usually bag line lined garments, but I also usually make garments in 2 layers of linen. I didn't want a bag lined garment to sag weirdly, so I sandwiched each seam, treating the lining and outer together as one piece of fabric each.
The picture below has two notable features: first, the blue of the body and the blue of the gore are the two different blues. This was proof of concept enough for me to accept the differences aren't terribly noticeable. Second, I did not bother pattern matching the various pieces of of any of the garments. Working from two extremely limited quantities of fabric, I found myself in the position I'd imagine many tailors in period would know well. Laying out pattern pieces over and over, I found the only way to effectively and efficiently use as much of my material as possible is to squeeze things in where I can (while still respecting the grain). I would like to find documentation on this speculation, but I would not be surprised if it is more period to not pattern match fabrics for anything less than a royal coronation garment. And the Despencers, while being played as nouveau riche landed nobility and close friends of the heir apparent, do not have pattern matching and wasting fabric money.
Tumblr media
With Edward Despencer's cote largely assembled and waiting until I can do one more test fitting before I add button holes, I started assembling my/Elizabeth Despencer's outer gown. By this time, I decided for the remaining two Despencers to only line the 4 body panels, since that will help the drape enough in my humble opinion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't worry, those gores get scooted up to a better height. I found myself working from Morgan Donner's example of a supportive kirtle, where her gores start where the flare of the bodice in the 4 body panels stops and turns into the straight lines to the floor. I still haven't quite figured out why mine looked so bad and noticeable in comparison to hers (seen below), but my best guess is the difference in drape of material, the fact that Mistress Donner is significantly smaller / less beefy in the hips than I, or that I just straight up placed them wrong.
Tumblr media
I do love how much space the dress makes me take up though. It makes the transition from street to court feel a lot easier, I'm playing nobility and I take up space.
Tumblr media
Tragedy struck and I realized I was short about an inch across the bust. Still not sure how I managed that, but it was time for a fix. Piecework is period, and I maybe panicked a little and overdid the width, but I added plackets to both sides of the front closure to give me more working room.
Tumblr media
Then came the buttons, which I purchased from Bad Baroness buttons. I. Am. Obsessed. I wanted enough to do my front closure to the waist, both boys all the way to the hem, and sleeves for everybody. So I overdid it and bought 150. On my bodice, I spaced them about a button and a half apart to avoid gapping. Because the fabric doesn't play nice with chalk, I ran loose basting stitches to mark my button holes before I made them. Rather than using my wife's fancy new brother with an automatic buttonhole function, I learned how to use the button hole stitches on my old Janome (finally.) Overall, not a bad experience, and it means I don't need to borrow a machine to do buttonholes.
Tumblr media
Then came what has been the most stressful point so far. Mistress Elizabeth Caton and Countess Amelot Lisette joined us for an unrelated sewing weekend extravaganza, and I took advantage of their expertise to help with fitting. Thus, the gores got moved up, and the sides taken in more. I really over did it with those front plackets RIP. But tragedy of tragedies, in moving the gores up, I left the dress 4 inches too short in places. Upon consultation with my trusted countesses and friends, we reverted to the original design with the red band and lions at the bottom. I was hesitant to do this because of the cast's restriction of true crimson to the royal family for readability reasons, and because it's not something I see much of in period depictions. However, the rest of the costuming committee reminded me of my own "10 foot squint rule", where if the costume isn't overwhelmingly crimson at 10 feet and squinting, it's fine. And this contemporary depiction of Mary of Waltham (Princess Mary) has a surcoat that appears to have a contrasting band at the bottom which may match gores going up the sides. The decision was made to cut myself some slack and get this workable ASAP.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Much appreciation to Halldora for loaning me her machine and helping me embroider these godforsaken Burghersh lions.
Tumblr media
What comes next?
I need to finish the lions on Elizabeth's dress and hem the excess.
I need to add buttons and buttonholes to Elizabeth's sleeves
If the sleeves are too short, I may add contrast red cuffs of the same fabric as the hem, or gold cuffs and embroider them with the Glamorgan chevronelly in the Despencer arms
Buttons down the front of Edward Despencer, and close his sleeves. It's been fitted, and I had to add the button placket of despair to his garb as well.
Seam finishing for Edward :) since I didn't serge the lining for some reason :) I hate myself :) i've at least already started this.
Assemble and line Thomas's cote. I will definitely need a button placket on his too, I girlbossed too close to the sun and made the chests just a wee bit too tight for their comfort. For Thomas's, I'm going to embrace the pieced look and use some dark brown linen for the center closure.
Dye and attach the false sleeves for Thomas, they're going to be a lovely green :)
Hems and necklines for everyone!!
If i have time and spoons, I would LOVE to put some mammen scrollwork embroidery on at least one of the boys' cotes.
I am attending Ansteorra's Laurel's Prize Tournament this coming weekend and hope to have enough done on the Despencers' clothes to present them, so fingers crossed!

ok ok i'm sorry i didn't give you a chance to be a hater before. maybe this will be better... what's your opinion on fancasts? just in general, but also in terms of the popular ones (idek what the prevalent ones are except for timmy as regulus, but i know there are a few people tend to gravitate to for r/s as well..)
hahah but i loved to wax poetic about delicious food still <3
i wanna preface this by saying that once i was looking at andrew kung’s photography and i saw the Most beautiful man in the world and i thought This Is Sirius Black. hes name is Jullian Culas and i edited photos from his instagram for a moodboard from my fanfic ‘blue’ and i follow him to this day and am always awestruck by his beauty and headcanon him as sirius a little sometimes. i was also into tripp when goyp was big and it was a whole thing. (and i get ben barnes as dorian gray)
and i think sirius fancasts works for me because i write him as the Most beautiful man and hes always super attractive, outstandingly pretty etc in my fic which is also popular fanon. so its plausible that he looks like a celebrity/model.
when it comes to remus though - hes just a regular guy. hes ugly-hot. he has a fucked up nose and scars on his face. he uses 3-in-1 shampoo. ive written him with a disability. even with art, i think remus is harder to visually Get right - and no celebrities/models look like that. same with fat lily, fat lily is so dear to me but there are not a lot of celebrities/models that are fat red heads. celebrity/model beauty can be very restrictive and even boring, and i think its better and more sexy for characters to be ‘normal’, have pimples, scars, body fat, disabilities etc than to look like celebrities. i think gay fanfiction is at its best a little transgressive, and fancasts that enforce unrealistic beauty standards can be quite detrimental to than end (unless your character is the Most beautiful man)
theres also the question of flexibility, like i enjoy trying new things, personality wise and looks wise, in each different work (like sometimes remus is a twink and sometimes hes scary looking) and how do you do that with a strict fancast? my characters in my head as i write are Vague Shapes and Concepts and i dont think i could write remus if i imagined him as Andrew Garfield.
plus, Andrew Garfield’s too much of a Person everyone knows about Actor Spiderman Emma Stone’s boyfriend once Network gay for me to just… fit a whole remus lore in him.
as for timmy - my mom has a big fat crush on Timothee Chalamet and as such i can not imagine him as regulus black. thats my mom’s sugar baby thank you very much.

Design Boards
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^(these are the final design boards. Photos of the experimentation are down at the bottom of this post)
Since I liked the idea of my designs displayed onto 2D mannequins, I decided I wanted to do this for my design boards. I found a folder of intricate, patterned wallpaper samples, with the colour palette and designs complimenting my collection. The wallpaper samples were textured, so I thought that would also be a great 3D element to my boards.
My first idea for my design boards was to lay out my mannequins cut out from the wallpaper, and they place the sheet of acetate across the middle, and they lay my specification drawings over the top in line with the mannequins. I came to realise that the acetate was pointless, and I would only use this concept if I had layers to my specification drawings.
There were many thing I need to experiment with, which included whether the design boards looked better portrait or landscape. I also needed to decided what colour card I was to use, and my original thought was just black or white, but then realised that the designs get lost against the white due to the pastel colour pallette. Black also didnt work, although it made the colours really stand out it was too sharp. I decided to collect a few different colours of card that I thought would compliment designs. The colours included navy, a soft grey, peach, cobalt blue, and light brown.
The peach coloured card was nice, but like the white, the designs began do get lost. The brown was also a lovely colour at first, but when placed behind the designs, the color didn't match the colour palette and looked really out of place. Grey and navy were the next colours to try, and I decided I really liked them both. The grey was soft enough to fit with the pastel theme, despite not being part if the colour palette, and it was the right colour inbetween black and white; dark enough that the colours stand our, and not too light that the designs get lost. I thought navy was a great choice as well, as there is navy in my colour pallet, and the cool tones of clash with the warm tones of my designs as well as having a soft look to it.
I decided I was going to use two colours for my boards as k could decide between grey and navy. Navy was slightly more my favourite, but I thought having two would add variety, and I wouldn't have to choose between the two either. I was going to have four grey and four navy, but then I remembered I till had to try the blue card.
I tried the blue card, and although I didn't like this as much as the grey or navy, I thought it complimented the navy colour. However m the color didn't look right with any of my designs apart from my garment spec drawing I then decided I was going to use navy for seven of the designs, and the blue for tjlhe garment design, as it made the garment designs stand out whilst fitting with the navy boards.
After choosing the colours, I experimented whether I wanted it it portrait or landscape. I thought that having it portrait made the designs look longer, and the designs could also overlap slightly, which I quite liked the concept of.
I then thought that the boards looked plain and empty, and had the idea to photo copy the diamond pleating on my garment, and then cut it into different sized strips, and then played around with the composition of them. The strips added some slight background, not too much that it's distracting, but enough that the background doesn't look plain.
I added same colour swatches from my colour pallete to match the design. These were created by applying watercolour or pro-marker onto some card and cut out small squares of each colour. I also wanted to add fabric swatches from my lept over fabric. Since I didn't have any pink, coral, green, or yellow pastel fabric, I decided to dye a few small pieces of the left-over ivory satin with some Brusho, making sure the fabric wasn't too vibrant and matched the colour pallet/designs. For my chosen garment design, I also wanted to add a small sqaure of my boat print.
The composition for all elements to the boards were experimented with first before being stuck down.

My dad told me when I got back into Pokémon Go, one blue to another, that he wished he'd picked the yellow team. That if he could do it again, he would. All of the gyms in our town are blue and stay blue, the same people putting their Pokémon in before anyone else can get any coins, and of course you can't battle your own team.
Three days later, I bought the medal that allows you to swap teams and I sent him a screenshot of our two gyms lit up yellow. "this is my town now," I joked. "thanks for the reminder you can swap."
And he was aghast. He jokingly called me a traitor, said he had no idea I could or would've done that or he would've said he was staying blue. He couldn't give a good reason why, finally said his girlfriend and her kid were blue and they've been playing less than a year so he needs to stay with them for now.
(Which, if you're wondering, says exactly what it sounds like, but it's fine. I quit needing a dad not long after he stopped being one.)
But recently I've learned that the majority of my body's issues that have plagued me and hindered me for upwards of fifteen years, the issues that have been myriad but subtle enough to make me think for so long that I was making them up, can all be attributed to estrogen with a great deal of certainty. I am taking progesterone to mitigate those effects and it's working beautifully for the most part. It makes my good days better and my worst days... Shorter, at least. And I'm thinking about how even if I wasn't nonbinary, I've been handed a solution to a problem that involves me taking the very simple step away from something that stopped serving me a long time ago. I didn't mind being a girl when I was younger. I don't mind thinking of my younger self as such. She's part of me. I love her. But she was never defined by these hormones that are hurting us either.
And I'm thinking about the people who spend their days creating posts railing against shows they insist they love, who won't go find something else to watch that makes them happy because they don't know how to be anything but upset to demonstrate they care about something. I think of radfems and the way they pack together in herds not out of a love for womanhood but out of a defense of its very existence as an immutable force. It requires an awful lot of enforcing for something so innate. I think of how rampant low-grade inflammation is a known silent killer, of how many women could take testosterone for their estrogen problems and never ever will because the concept of womanhood, this thing they swear they love even as they define themselves by suffering from it, is easier than being happy and then I think of the trans people in my life who have defined femininity as joy itself. I never loved being a girl, but I can't get enough of the way the femininity that never fit me looks on them. They twirl the dresses I was forced into and smile the way I did with my first binder, and I remember that I love women in a way thinking I was one one never allowed.
I think of my dad telling me once that he kissed his best friend as a teenager just to see if he was good at it - to prepare for girls, you see - that all boys did that and it was normal and straight to do. I think of the way he looked at the yellow gyms on his phone for a long second before he shrugged me off the sidewalk, grinning, and turned them blue again.
I think today as I've thought for my whole nonbinary life about hormones, about trading one wrong gender for another that's wrong in a different direction, only this time I don't think too much longer than that. I text my dad a photo of the gyms all yellow again and say "be here when you're ready to join me," and then I pick the phone up and call my nearest informed consent clinic - the first step, away and towards.

H2O Headcanon #23:
Gracie Made All Of Annette's Dresses
A Word from our sponsor: All dresses can be linked to this IG Page:
https://instagram.com/xtabayvintage?utm_medium=copy_link
Alright, let's get started!
So, I had been thinking about this for a while and I was like: Why not have Gracie learn sewing? Considering she's lived through the 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s, it wouldn't be ridiculous thing to pick up maybe a lesser known talent. So, I got to thinking of narratives:
Gracie is a mostly forward person, but even as she grew up, she had a divided taste in fashion, especially in the 80s. On one hand, she loved the vibrant neon colors and fabric that came with the new decade, but sometimes the mother in her turned her head from the more newer designs. Gracie guessed the girl from the 50s inside her preferred more classic and somewhat conservative looks to what else was being worn nowadays [80s]. Just don't get her started on two-piece bikinis! (It was one thing having the top part as a mermaid, where there was nothing to show from the waist below, but the bottom part was something she still needed getting used to.)
But that didn't mean she didn't enjoy new ideas! Working in a restaurant as a manager paid the bills but she enjoyed working on her artwork most of all (tied with spending time with her daughter, Annette.)
However, she wasn't blind. Her daughter was entering her teen years and for the curly, blonde hair she inherited from her father, Annette - to the dimples, high cheekbones, and rose cheeks - got all the beauty from Gracie, which made both of them head-turners, unfortunately.
However, unlike her mother's reservations, Annette was immersed in the 80s trends of big hair, scrunchies, leg warmers, fingerless gloves, leotards , oversized shirts, plastic bangles, large funky earrings in neon shades, mesh accents, fanny packs and pearl necklaces (probably the only thing in regards to accessory Gracie appreciated!)
Gracie HATED it all! The 80s was very materialistic and all about flaunting wealth and who payed the price for all these fancy and designer clothes!? Where did the pearls come from? How much labor went into sewing a shopping out clothes to stores? What about the work laborers and the excessive need to mass-produce at fast rates? What happened to quality over quantity!?
(Annette got these lectures every time she asked for something out of a catalog and just beared with it.)
In some ways, it was lucky enough that Gracie preferred handcrafted quality items, with the occasional vintage jewelry found in second-rate stores and market stalls. She enjoyed the classics, but there was something divine in wearing something handmade. Back when her husband was alive and she lived on the military base with him, she had told this to a friend and fellow army wife one day, who reckoned her an "Old Soul" and suggested she take up sewing if she disliked name-brand clothes so much. At the time, she never considered it, but it wasn't a foreign concept. She grew up in a well-to-do family and her mother always made her dresses for special occasions. From her evening gowns to her school formal, perhaps there was something to it that she could do for her future child. Alas, it wasn't easy, but she had her mother and local wives to help with her exciting projects! Even once she left, she never really stopped making dresses.
If anything, she found it challenging to make dresses to prove to Annette that homemade was better than store brand! And especially bring the 50s to the 80s!
The Debutante Dress (Age 16- 1981)
Ah, the debutante ball. A girl's coming out to society and the elegance of being accepted as a lady - and there was just something about that flowing white, silk dress that Gracie just loved! When she had the first opportunity to be a part of one, it was for charity and her mother convinced her. To be frank, the etiquette lessons were a bore and the only real excitement was the dance lessons. Looking back, those lessons did pay off whenever she had to attend functions with her husband. She and Julia had been selected and their escorts had been Max and Karl (perhaps that was the only reason Julia took fancy to the entire event.) It had been held at the Cloudland Ballroom and been an invigorating event! She danced all night in the gown her mother made for her and she felt like the wind gliding through the air.
So perhaps it was destined that the very ballroom (unaware of its drastic fate) would be danced upon by Gracie's daughter, the very floor where she once danced with her first love and later met and fell in love with her future husband! Annette however wasn't taking being a debutante so well and fought every minute of it. It took time to get her stubborn daughter to get used to the idea and perhaps her hand-sewn dress also helped:
Tumblr media
(The pearls were once Gracie's...and she realized she had turned into her mother!)
Halloween Costume
This one caused a fight between mother and daughter. See, while Annette wasn't going all-out Disney, she requested a princess dress that would make her stand out. And Gracie did just that, only it mirrored something more traditional with a red cloak when what Annette wanted was something more glamorous. The fight wasn't bad (compared to the ones they'd have in the future) but it did leave Gracie a bit heartbroken and the girls in separate rooms. Eventually, Annette came around and apologized, saying she'll still wear it. (Which she wouldn't regret seeing as a lot of people enjoyed a more realistic take of medieval fantasies!)
Tumblr media
First Date
Annette had her first date! Gracie knew that he was taking her out on a beach date (Sugtons Beach) and wanted to express just that. Turns out her date was the one who was commented Annette on her Halloween costume! Annette had nothing to wear and consulted with Gracie again, this time asking if she owned anything and could modernize it. Well...Gracie did have something, but though she herself thought it could have been done better, Annette loved it! [10 points to whoever recognizes such a design from H2O!]
Tumblr media
Year 11 Formal (age 17 - 1982)
The formal was the first dance Annette had gone without a date and was just going with her girlfriends. She turned out to like her mother's sewing skills and told her she didn't want anything too fancy to go in. However, she begged her to make it something 80s-like! But alas, Gracie could only grant that request so much before she had her artbook in one hand and needle & thread in another! [With a reference to a dress Tiffany Lamb (Annette) to rein the 80s!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wedding Guest
Annette and Gracie had been invited to a wedding! Well, it was more of a vow renewal, as the couple were old friends of parents back when they lived on the base and had a bit of a nostalgic touch! Considering Gracie was a bit of the same way, she found an old dress she owned when she was 16 and spruced it up a bit for Annette.
Tumblr media
Dance Party Dress
After so much time and begging, this would be the ONLY dress Annette got from her that even resembled the 80s glitz and glam they once fought over. To be fair, the glitz existed in the 60s but she wasn't a fan of them. However, Annette was over the moon once she saw this:
Tumblr media
Yearbook Photos
Annette may have been getting only a headshot for her school yearbook photos, but Gracie wanted to make memories. With the help of a friend, she and Annette took pictures all over Brisbane to add to the photo album. And once again that pesky beauty the mother and daughter shared cropped up when someone thought it was a genuine photo shoot and tried to recruit Annette into modeling! Gracie herself was a model in her teens and while she can say she had a good experience, there was a reason she never joined the industry full time! Luckily for her, Annette was more into becoming an inspiring chef than photos.
Tumblr media
Year 12 Formal (age 18 - 1983)
At this point, Gracie had decided to take her daughter's advice and try to at least incorporate modern 80s with the classic 50s, and at the right time. Unlike the last formal, this time, Annette had a date, Gracie decided to do something to reflect the occasion. It also hit her how much she changed herself at 17 (most, she would never bring herself to tell Annette) and found herself designing a dress that brought back an old memory.
Tumblr media
Gracie's 50th Birthday (age 25 - 1990)
There must have been a hint of irony in the world as for as Gracie knew. For weeks, her daughter had been quite secretive and she couldn't guess why. And when she questioned her son-in-law, he had the nerve to be cheeky and not confide in her daughter's secrets (but then again, that's how she knew he was the one for Annette!). However, during that time, she had asked once more for a dress. At the time, it had been year's and the last thing she made was the veil and reception dress for her daughter's wedding (the wedding dress she wore ended up being the one from the Debutante ball.) However, that night of her 50th birthday, Annette presented her a gift: A seafoam blue dress with pearls that she recognized as being something out of the 80s (irony Is that she liked the dresses when the 90s hit!) Annette has made it - with help, as she didn't inherit the skill from her mother and grandmother. She, Annette, and her son-in-law went out to what she thought was some fancy dinner...when it was revealed to be a small dance hall with the theme: Cloudland. Everyone they knew from friends (old and new) to coworkers, and even strangers she befriended who kept in touch, attended the party. She did raise an eyebrow at Annette being fit for the 50s while she was in the 80s...at least until an old song started playing and Annette asked her to dance...dance to the very song she fell in love with her father to. And then, she told her the most surprising news: She was to be a grandmother.

Tickle-tickle...
<Hi everyone:
This fic fought me harder than any of my others, I have been low key trying to get this one finished for months... not exaggerating, months… I have been dealing with a lot of personal mayhem, but my four friends: @snifflyjoonie @sickiebabytae @p3merge and @btssickybubbies kept me going. Thank you everyone!>
Tickle Tickle
Jungkook sighed. This day could not possibly get any worse… He was finally feeling like himself again after a three day long stomach bug, but as the other members had warned him: He would have to make up for all the things he had been required to skip while he was sick.
This morning, he had managed to eat a decent meal and his temperature was back to normal, so today would be maknae-makeup day. The managers had given the other members a day off and Jungkook thought wistfully of playing on the beach with them on this miserably hot day.
Instead, he had been dragged to the recording studio in the early morning hours. This was torture for the managers that did the waking and for Jungkook who fell asleep almost instantly and was difficult to wake up.  He had been dragged to the recording studio and pushed and prompted through two hours of singing for the new track. After that his measurements needed to be adjusted since the outfits for the next concert didn't fit him around the chest properly. Another hour gone from a promising day, as he was buttoned and unbuttoned. Pinned and unpinned. Poked and fiddled with, until he had been ready to snap at the staff. He had controlled himself but he was tired and wanting desperately not to have a photoshoot next.
He is supposed to take special event photos for  new mobile game that was coming out next year. Jungkook had seeing the concept art and was recording the scripts still with the other members. He thought the game concept was really fun and he knew that ARMY would love it, but he is too tired to put his all into a photoshoot today.
He clambered out of the van as soon as it's parked and headed inside walking with a purposeful step and renewed focus.
Usually when they are together and one of them is sick or struggling with their energy levels another member will step in to boost their mood but now the best he can hope for is to make this fast and be done with it, because he is all alone.
"Do this and you can go home! Come on, Jungkook, you can do this!" He murmured to himself.
The wardrobing process is so easy, that he thinks there's been an error. He is in a pair of comfy flannel pajamas dark blue, to match the contacts they fit him with, with white patterns of stars and moons. The makeup process is a bit more drawn out, but livable. They side swept his bangs giving him a sleepy, tousled look and added brown and pink tints around his eyes, producing a sexy take on someone who had just woken up.
Jungkook had hope…  Maybe he would be able to just lie down and relax while posing! It couldn't possibly be that easy though, could it?  He felt a bit of enthusiasm returning.
He saw, as he entered the set, a mattress on the floor. It was covered with a white linen sheet and feathers... Hundreds of soft, white, fluffy feathers. He bowed politely to the staff and stood patiently at the foot of the mattress.
"Jeon Jungkook-ssi,  We know you've had a busy day, but bear with us and we will try to get you out of here as soon as possible. Kim Namjoon-ssi told us to try to keep it as short as possible, since you hadn't been feeling well  lately. We hope you are recovering well."
Jungkook blushed. He was a bit embarrassed of being coddled, but mostly he was just grateful to Rapmon-hyung for still trying to help him even from a distance.
"Thank you. I'm better now."
The director nodded,
"Okay, I want you to lie on the mattress, but I want you to almost flop onto it on your back… Look through the camera, not at it. Very good."
Jungkook did so, falling backwards. He showed the camera a daydream-like face, as he toppled, raising his arms as though sleepily trying to grab something. His back felt like it had landed on a cloud. The displaced feathers, that had bounced from the mattress, began to rain down on top of him: landing on the pajamas, his hair, and his face. Oh, those tickled…
He tried to maintain his professionalism, but he let a half-smile break his focus in between a few shots. He blew a sideways breath to nudge a feather aside as it slowly began to slide down his face towards his nose. It didn’t work. The small downy feather came to rest in the crease of his right nare and cheek. He had to breathe through his nose which meant that the tiny irritant was scooted to and fro slightly over the crest of his nostril.
After a few minutes, his nose began to itch. He exhaled sharply through it trying to to remove the feeling without wrecking the shot. The feeling spread down his nose, making it twitch involuntarily.
“Jungkook-ssi, focus please.” The photographer was kind, but firm. Jungkook reset himself, one hand lazily draped over  part of his face, covering one eye and part of his forehead. His mouth was slightly open, so he could avoid exacerbating the fidget-inducing tickle that was not going away.
They snapped away and had him reset again, this time onto his stomach. He risked a small sniffle. It made the itch consume his nose, filling it with an irresistible tickle. He hitched silently, trying not to ruin his last few shots, it looked like he was panting with exertion. Then a single allergic tear slipped from his right eye. His eyes looked far away.
The Photographer said, "Okay, that's it!"
Jungkook spun, sitting up, and sneezed ferociously,
"Hhh-Hh-Heh'KTSHiiiuu! HEHSHU! EKTsshuu! H'Gheeesshuu! H'Resshiiuu! Hhh-HH-Heh! Ehh! HiiTSHOO!" He crumpled forward, each sneeze tossing him forward as he gasped for air. He caught them in cupped hands. The force of his movements stirring the fluffy props around him into small dervishes.
"Ahktsshuu! HH'Essh! ATKshhuu!" One of the crew passed him a tissue and he blinked teary eyed at them and smiled gratefully before giving a last:
"HEK'Tsshooo! ...Ugh, sorry!"
"It's okay, you did well. We are all done here!"
Sniffling, Jungkook got up, still a bit dazed. He bowed respectfully to the photographer, director and staff and rubbed his itchy nose. He was taken back to change and was soon back in the company car.
"Tickles-tih-tickles… Hhh..."
He sneezed again three more times before he realized he still had bits of fluff in his hair. He chuckled and sniffled, in a much better mood than he had been in. He couldn't help it, the situation was too funny. He pulled a small feather from his hair and looked at it. He hesitated but was curious. He gently brushed it against his nose, an amused smile on his face.

30 Days of MX - Day 16
Day #16 - Fave hairstyle/hair colour on each Monsta X member
Just to note something: I love Monsta X in every hair style and color they have done. However there are some that have a special place in my heart and in my opinion suit them a bit better. I think we all now though that everything looks fire on them.
1) Shownu
Shoot out era / brown hair
This colour compliments his skin tone so much and it looks SO good on him. Also this hair style fits his face so damn well like Wow!!
+ I really love his red hair on this era and I'm so mad it didn't last long. Like it was the first time the stylists put a colour that wasn't brown or black on him and it looked AMAZING
Fighter era / white and blue pushed back hair
2)Wonho
Guys this hair colour and hairstyle is iconic and I think we all agree on that. It looks amazing on him and the pushed back look makes him even hotter.
+ I also love his black hair so much.  It's such a simple colour but it looks so cute on him and in my opinion makes him look younger and sweeter.
Jealousy era / honey blonde hair
Honestly minhyuk can easily rock any colour and style but I personally think lighter colours suit him more because they light up his face. From the first time I saw that hair colour on him I fell in love so I knew I had to include it here.
3) Minhyuk
+ Minhyuks red hair on beautiful era. Like I know he said he hated his hair on that comeback but it honestly looked SO good, I really don't know what he's taking about.
Dramarama era / Gray kinda wavy hair
This colour and hair style made me fall in love with Kihyun. Even though my bias was Wonho, when I saw this hair on kihyun I was in awe. This style suits him so well and also gives him some volume. As for the colour, it looks amazing on his complexion and his face.
+ Kihyun with an undercut. I KNEW I had to include this one. Out of any member in Monsta X I think kihyun looks the best with an undercut. It's ideal for his face and features and it compliments him a lot.
4)Kihyun
Dramarama - Destroyer era / black with red highlights hair
Honestly this look didn't last long at all!! It was even hard for me to find pictures from it. But like just look at him this hair is perfect!! Both colours kinda blend together and it looks so wonderful. But like it's hyungwon what doesn't look good on him?
+ His pink hair on jealousy era. THIS hair colour was such a pleasant surprise. Like I remember looking at the black and white concept photos thinking that his hair was probably either blonde or white. And then this beautiful pink colour appeared and I was shooketh.
5) Hyungwon

6) Jooheon
So jooheon is such a sweetheart and this colour makes him look even sweeter. As a fellow soft stan this looks makes me very soft and it's also @myleejooheon 's favourite so what's there not to love about it?
+ His shine forever era hair. This white colour and the slight longer hairstyle suits him so well and makes him look cooler. I really hope jooheon will keep his hair on the longer spectrum because that's what suits him best in my opinion
Fighter - beautiful era / brown hair
7) I.M.
Black hair
I don't know which era to call it because he's had black hair in a lot of their comebacks. But black suits him sooo well and makes him look mature and gorgeous.

+ His Gray hair on shoot out era. The hairstyle looked amazing and it's just really beautiful and hot on him.
