The Hybrids Society
Characters: c!hybrids x gn!striderhybrid!reader (/p)
A/N: Yet again suggested by my friend my ideas are on a low rn lmao
UPDATE AFTER WRITING:
I have been made aware that Ranboo is uncomfortable with x readers, I am trying to privately save any to find things that may possibly be uncomfortable for him in the future and avoid them, however I cannot do that with asks. This can be read as a friendship if you please, I personally don't think it's weird for friends to hold hands, but if youre uncomfortable please scroll.
-------------------------------------------------------
The hybrids of the SMP always seemed to be pretty innocent, doing their own things, living their own lives. But behind the scenes there was a secret society for them. A society away from normal humans. A society built for them. It simply went by the Hybrids Society, that's all. It was a group for everything, from healing and support, to meetings for when it came to more serious times. When it came to meetings, everyone had to attend, but otherwise it was open for any of them to stroll in and get what they need any time. The main people you would normally see there would be Ranboo, Tubbo, Fundy and Phil, Techno and Foolish would appear from time to time when needed, but otherwise the others were barley seen at all. It was content, quiet enough for them. They had all the support they could need, right where only they could find it. It was only these lot, until you came along.
It was just a normal day for you, strolling around the lowest points of your home on the lava, checking in on all your friends and family, even if they were full Striders and not Human hybrids. That was until 2 people saw you.
"Uh, Phil? That's a person, right?"
Ranboo asked Phil. They were out looking for some Quartz, it would usually be Phil and Techno or Ranboo and Techno, but he was busy today, so the 2 of them went instead. Phil looked awfully confused, so Ranboo pointed in your direction, both seeing you playing with the smaller Striders in the middle of the lava pool.
"Oh yeah mate, it looks so. How are they not burning?"
Phil said. Ranboo just shrugged in confusion. They stood in silence, careful to be aware of their surroundings, watching you trying to figure out how you weren't burning.
"Why don't we go down and talk to them?"
Ranboo suggested. Phil took a moment to look in his inventory for cobble, if they were going to head towards you, they needed enough.
"Got any spare cobble? I think I'm just slightly short of it."
Phil asked Ranboo. You didn't have to ask him twice, as he pulled out all the cobble in his inventory and passed it to Phil. You could tell he was excited to meet you.
It wasn't long until they were at a suitable level and started bridging towards you. About halfway through their bridging, you noticed them, and decided to walk towards them to help them save resources. They somehow didn't notice you, not until you started talking to them.
"Hello."
You simply stated. The bridging blonde was taken by surprise and fell from the shock. If it wasn't for you catching him, he would've fallen into the lava.
"Sorry about that, here, pass me that, I'll help you."
You said as Phil passed you the cobble, and you began to build a bigger platform for them to stand on.
"Thanks... Wh-whats your name?"
The bi coloured boy asked, clearly nervous about meeting you, now that it was happening in person.
"I'm Y/N, how about you guys?"
Ranboo looked at Phil, and Phil looked at Ranboo, both clearly confused on who's answering first.
"I'm Phil, and this is Ranboo."
Phil finally spoke up, pointing at Ranboo as he said his name. He waved in response.
"Nice names! Would you like to stay and chat for a bit? Obviously if you're not busy, it's just nice to talk to someone since noone here speaks English."
You said. The 2 looked at eachother, remembering what they came for.
"We gotta get some Quartz, but you can come with us if you can walk on land?"
Phil asked. You thought about it for a moment. You'd never been on land before. Would you drag them behind their schedule? Striders are infamous for walking slowly on land, is it the same with you?
"Yeah, sure! I'm not sure if I'll slow you down though, I've never walked on land before."
You answered, excitement dying down slightly in the second sentence. Ranboo looked at you in slight disappointment of your excitement dying down.
"Don't worry kid, it's fine. There's a first time for everything, isn't there?"
You nodded in responce, and Phil held out his hand to pull you up, as the platform was one block above lava level. You placed your bare feet on the cobble. It was cold, rocky. But nice. It was different, you liked that. Phil started walking back, Ranboo behind him and you behind Ranboo, surprising you as you were walking at the same speed as them.
You were next to Ranboo, the 2 of you walking behind Phil, talking while he looked for Quartz. Ranboo would unconsciously stop talking at times to study you and your hybrid features. You had pale red skin, dark red hair, and wore a raggy shirt and trousers.
"So,"
Ranboo began.
"What other hybrid features do you have?"
You thought for a moment. The issue is you didn't really know. You never went outside the lava, never tried something new before today.
"To be honest, I'm not sure. I've never left the lava before today. All I know is that I like mushrooms, it's the only edible vegetation here for me and it's quite nice."
Ranboo let out a slight laugh at your honest opinions, which made you smile. You didn't know what you did or how you did it, but it felt nice.
You were all there for a while, you got to know Ranboo quite well and he got to know you quite well. You got back to the portal, kinda upset that it was time for them to leave. They both looked at you, before looking at eachother, and back at you again.
"Would you like to come with us? Y'know, like live in the overworld with us, meet out friends?"
Your eyes visibly lighted up.
"Yes! I'd love to!"
You called out. Ranboo offered you his hand so he could help you through the portal, which you excitedly took. You all stepped through the purple swirls, and before you knew it, you were somewhere you've never seen before.
It was indoors and decorated like your home, granted, but you cod tell it was different. You felt scared. You gripped Ranboos hand tighter, he looked over to you confused until he realised how scared you looked.
"Hey, it's ok, it's a nice world out there, trust me."
Ranboo told you with a smile. You smiled back but still didn't let go of his hand fully, you just released your grip a bit. It was all fine until you got to the exit of the building. It was pouring down with rain. Phil looked over at Ranboo and handed him a coat. You looked confused.
"He's an enderman hybrid, so he can't go into the rain. Wait, since you're a hybrid from the nether, does that mean you can't go out into rain?"
Phil said. You shrugged before you stuck the back of your hand out into the rain. It only took a single drop for you to pull your hand back in pain. You could see where it landed, it was physically sizzling.
"Ah. In that case, wanna get under with me?"
Ranboo asked, lifting up the coat so you could get under. You edged closer to him, as he released your hand and rested it across your back and looped his hand to hold onto your stomach. You reached up for his hand with one of yours, the other pulling the edge of the coat down. It wasn't overly comfortable, it wasn't the biggest coat, and Ranboo had to bend down to your level due to his height. But it was whatever it took for you both to be safe. The issue is you assumed you were running and didn't know where to go.
"Uh, Phil? I guess we're running, right? I have no clue where were going."
Phil looked at you, before looking at Ranboo and turning back around.
"Don't worry, Ranboo will show you. Now, ready? Let's go!"
Phil said before running into the rain, the 2 of you close behind. Ranboo held you close, making sure you weren't hurt at all. He was used to this by now, but was aware you were new to rain, and wanted to make sure you get back in one piece.
You finally reached where you were heading to, and Ranboo stood at his full height, letting the wet coat fall off both your backs. Phil was aware of why you both didn't touch it and picked it up for you. You followed Ranboo into the place.
"This, Y/N, is what we like to call the Hybrids Society. It's a place open for all hybrids whenever they need it. It's hidden away from the non-hybrids, so please don't tell them about it."
Ranboo said. You nodded when he said not to tell the non-hybrids, as you both approached a corner. You tugged on his jacket to grab his attention.
"I'm not sure about this mind..."
You said nervously. Sure, you were excited to meet hybrids like you, but it was also nerve wracking.
"Don't stress, you'll be fine."
You grabbed Ranboos hand and walked behind him as he walked around the corner. Phil had already walked ahead.
"Hey Fundy, Tubbo, Techno! Were back!"
Ranboo said as he walked in. You hoped his tall figure would hide you since you were considerably shorter than him.
"Hey Ranboo! Why's your hand behind your back?"
Fundy asked, as Tubbo nodded in agreement to his question. Techno was looking through chests for potion ingredients, not paying attention to them. Phil was in the corner smiling, looking for some clothes for you to wear. Ranboo looked at you, as you looked back up at him. He smiled at you softly.
"Remember what I said, it'll be fine."
You slowly poked your head out from behind him, before showing your whole self, waving at them nervously, still holding Ranboos hand.
"This is Y/N. They're a Strider Hybrid and we met them in the Nether earlier."
Ranboo introduced you. Techno perked up at the fact you were found in the Nether and finally looked at you both.
"Hello Y/N! I'm Tubbo, I'm a Goat hybrid!"
Tubbo introduced himself as he waved at you excitedly. You smiled and waved back.
"I'm Fundy, a Fox hybrid. Nice to meet you."
Phil had finished looking for clothes by now and was watching you all. He could see Techno looking at you in curiosity as to your hybrid abilities. He made his way over to him and nudged him.
"Go on then mate, introduce yourself!"
Phil whisper-shouted to Techno.
"Uh, yeah right, sorry. I'm Technoblade, but you can just call me Techno."
He said in a monotone voice before turning back to what he was doing.
"Y/N, here, go put these on, it's probably more comfortable than what you're wearing now."
Phil said as he handed you the clothes he picked out, baggy jeans and a red shirt. You took them before Phil pointed towards where you could go change. You walked off to go change, while the others continued the conversation.
"So, about you guys,"
Fundy began with a smirk on his face. Ranboo instantly cut him off, knowing what he was going to say.
"Were just friends. They were nervous about leaving their long time home, and I don't blame them. We talked alot during the trip so I suppose we got quite close and they started clinging to me for safety? I'm not sure, we'll just see how it goes."
Ranboo said. It was a simple response, with a simple theory, he just didn't know if it was correct.
You later walked out of where you were changing in your new clothes, happy with the selection.
"These are nice, thanks Phil."
You said. Phil simply nodded his head slightly.
"Hungry? There's some mushrooms over there if that's what you fancy. They're overworld ones though, not ones from the Nether."
Ranboo asked. You headed towards where Ranboo pointed and looked at the mushrooms. They were way different to ones you were used to, they were beige or red and white spotted, rather than blue and orange. You looked back over as if to say "Are these safe to eat?" and they all nodded. You simply shrugged before taking one of each and trying them one after the other.
"Mm! These are nice! Different from the usual, granted but it's nice that they are different."
You sealed the approval of the mushrooms.
You hung out at the base of the Society for a bit longer, meeting more hybrids and getting to know others better. It was getting late, and there was just one problem. You didn't have anywhere to sleep. You started getting tired, and they all noticed.
"Hey, we got beds here, want us to stay here tonight and we'll find you somewhere to sleep tomorrow?"
Tubbo asked, praying the others wouldn't mind what he put them up to. All you could do was nod, before you physically went out cold.
"Damn, they are tired, huh. It's been a long day for them I suppose."
Phil said, while Ranboo picked you up before taking you to one of the beds and staying until you felt comfortable.
"Goodnight Y/N. See you tomorrow."
He said before walking out. It was a different life, of course it was, but it was going to be a nicer one for you, with more people to talk to, and a best friend you would trust with your life.

Yet another letter dropped into the lap of Aria Dumbledore as she sat absentmindedly sketching. Dropping her quill back into the small pot of ink which balanced on the arm of her chair, a small sigh escaped her lips. She had been expecting another to arrive any day now.
Aria allowed herself a small glance in the direction of her desk where the ever growing pile of unopened letter sat gathering dust. Disregarding her drawing, Aria traveled to her desk, fingers fumbling with the edge of the envelope. Admittedly, Aria's mind had been focused on that small pile of letters the past few days, and consequently the man who sent them. She couldn't bring herself to reply to his constant inquiries, but she had considered there was no harm in opening a few of them. She longed to hear from him, though she had been in denial for so long now she wasn't sure what to expect from his most recent letters.
Waiting no longer she ripped the paper from its wax seal, her eyes quickly scanning every word on the page.
My dear Aria, Though I know you say you cannot reply to my letters, I write them all with the hope that you will find the time in your busy schedule to at least read them. As always things are quiet here without you. Too quiet. I miss your voice. I miss hearing you sing to yourself in the shower thinking no one can hear you, I miss hearing you hum as you wander aimlessly through the house, I miss watching you draw as I pose for you, but most importantly I miss holding you in my arms. I long for the end of the school year when we will be reunited and I will have nothing to miss except maybe writing these letters. I long for a response to my letters, my darling. I simply must know that you miss me as I miss you. In the mean time I will continue to write to you to keep myself distracted from everything terrible happening in the world, by simply thinking of you. All my love, S.
Aria couldn't help but feel a great pang of guilt in the pit of her stomach for ignoring the letters, but she couldn't bare the thought of reading them, while she was still coming to terms with how she felt when she decided to leave for Hogwarts. She knew immediately she would not be able to maintain a long distance relationship with him. Though he was the first man she had ever loved she had been too cowardly to confess her feelings for him in person, let alone on a piece of parchment. She knew she was a pathetic coward from the moment he told her he loved her and she could not find it in her to return the favour. Her cowardice was more than proven the day she left for Hogwarts. Aria had planned to break up with him, to avoid further heartbreak down the line. But she could not even find the courage to do that.
Instead she was living in denial. In her mind they had broken up, and refused to face up to whatever she was truly feeling until it was absolutely necessary. Her plan had been to distract herself as much as possible, suppress her feelings and just forget about the situation completely. And to be totally honest her plan had been working for her, with the exception of a few off days such as today. However when it came time to wake up and face the music she had no idea what her plan would be then.
Leaving the letter open on her desk she took a stroll around the grounds of Hogwarts to clear her mind. The time to figure out all of her problems was not now. She was still a young, carefree woman and she didn't want the burden of guilt stopping her from living her life however she so wished.
Arias walk led her to the village of Hogsmeade, and after working up a light sweat, the young professor opted to pop into the Three Broomsticks to quench her thirst.
Unsurprisingly for a late Tuesday evening the place was barren. Besides for a drunken wizard practically falling off his bar stood, a crazy witch whispering to herself and two well dressed men, sitting out of place in a side booth, the place was completely deserted. Planning to only stay for a pumpkin juice Aria took a seat at the bar and begun chatting to the same barmaid who had served her and Severus all those weeks ago.
"Busy night?" Aria joked, rolling her eyes at the drunk to her right.
The woman laughed in return, handing over a glass of pumpkin juice. "This is pretty much the standard, at this time." She shrugged, polishing off a perfectly clean glass, to keep herself busy. "That one over there doesn't even order anything, but its not worth the hassle kicking her out." She gestured to the old hag in the corner, her perfectly polished nails glistening in the dim bar light.
"I wish I could say I felt sorry for you, but a break away from the chaos that is Hogwarts is a slight relief." Aria sighed. She was still not used to being around so many people all the time having spent the past few years alone, besides her mother, she often needed time alone to breathe.
"Oh, then you must be new. I've had my fair share of lonely professors spend an evening behind my bar, and I usually remember who's spilled their whole life story to me. Though you do look familiar, what do you teach?" She finished up with her glasses, leaning her elbows on the bar to get a closer look at the younger woman, her breasts practically falling out her blouse.
"I'm just an apprentice for now. I'm the new Potions Mistress." Aria smiled, taking a small sip of her drink.
"Oh yes, now I remember. You came here with that Severus. He's not unfamiliar with our whiskey selection, if you know what I mean." Both women rolled their eyes in unison. "He doesn't seem to talk much though, I can't say I know anything about him. I must admit I was surprised to see him with a gorgeous young witch like yourself."
"You weren't the only one." Aria scoffed, finishing off her pumpkin juice.
"Well it makes a little bit more sense now." She laughed, a set of pristine pearly teeth emerging from her red glossy lips.
It seemed Aria was not the only one who had been admiring the woman's beauty, and almost right on cue the drunk decided to look a little bit more lively, demanding another pint. Reluctantly the barmaid obliged, shooting Aria an apologetic look.
Aria couldn't help but notice the gruff looking man practically throw himself over the bar in order to get a good gawk at the barmaids behind. The slightly older woman seemed unfazed by the mans actions, in-fact Aria wasn't entirely unsure she wasn't enjoying the attention. Choosing not to interrupt as neither party seemed to object to the altercation, Aria kept her mouth shut.
That was until the man's attention turned to her. The barmaid disappeared from view, presumably to refill the barrel the drunk had practically drowned himself in. "Haven't seen you around here before." He started harmlessly, though Aria did not miss the way his eyes seemed to scan the whole of her body.
"Just moved into Hogwarts, haven't seen much of Hogsmeade." Aria admitted, but made the conscious decision to turn away from him, hoping not to engage in any further conversation.
"You a friend of Ros'" He asked, intrigued, while downing a good half of his pint.
"Not really, no." Aria shrugged. "I didn't even know her name until just now."
"Rosalind Rookwood." He edged his seat closer to Arias. "Fantastic barmaid, though I wouldn't say it was her best profession." He winked.
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean." Aria turned her nose up at the man, just praying he would leave her alone.
"Well, you know, bein' a barmaids fine an all, but it doesn't always pay the bills. Miss Rookwood's got her fair share of stories to tell, and not all of them her own." He laughed, the potent stench of his alcoholic breath suffocating Aria as he leaned in closer, wrapping a heavy arm around her shoulders. "If it turns out teaching isn't for you, just know you'll have a loyal customer in me." He hiccuped, his free arm, reaching down to stroke the woman's exposed thigh.
Instinctively Aria gripped onto his wrist, forcing it off of her. "What the hell do you think you are doing!?" Aria exclaimed, pushing the man away from her. "Don't you dare lay your hands on me again."
The drunk showed no sign of guilt or remorse, he simply chuckled to himself, revealing a shocking lack of teeth. Disgusted, Aria made to move but found herself cornered against the bar.
Fortunately the altercation had caused enough disruption to alert the two men having a casual evening drink. Instantly one rushed over to her aid, stupefying the old man. The second man followed suit and made it his business to remove the frozen figure from the bar.
"Are you alright?" The first man asked, his brow furrowing with worry.
"I'm fine, thank you for stepping in." Aria smiled, brushing herself down, as though she was riding herself from the drunks disgusting touch.
The man returned a boyish grin, his eyes bright blue and full of kindness. Aria had never seen anyone like him. His presence was almost cartoon like, with positivity radiating from him. Aria couldn't help but let out a nervous laugh, her smile growing just by looking at him. His energy was contagious.
"Is... is there anything I can do to thank you?" She tried your shake herself back to reality though remained entranced by him.
"Nothing at all. I'm just glad I was here to help." He extended a hand, almost nervously, introducing himself. "Alexander Turner, pleasure to meet you."
"You too." Aria blushed, unable to break eye contact with the man, and was now incredibly aware of how dumbfounded she must look. "I'm Aria" She stuttered, the sound of his friend retuning sending her back to reality. "I apologise for staring, but I just can't seem to take my eyes off you, you have an enchanting aura about you. I'm sorry if I may seem a little strange."
"There's no need to apologise, I get it all the time." He laughed, though not arrogantly, it was sweet and innocent. "My mother's a Veela." He added, almost embarrassedly, upon noticing the slightly look of confusion appearing on Arias face.
The couple shared an awkward smile, both at a loss for words.
Alexander's friend passed by the pair silently, slapping him encouragingly on the shoulder before disappearing behind the bar, Rosalind following closely behind.
Aria noted the difference in both attitude and appearance in the two men, finally able to distinguish between the two. The friend was tall and broad shouldered, his hair messy though not long. He gave off a sort of American football, "bro", fratbroy vibe. In other words kind of arrogant and full of himself. Clearly he saw himself as the one in control. Alexander on the other hand was more slim, but not skinny. Tall but not lanky. Innocent but not naive. His clothes appeared similar to his friends but presented more neatly and well put together. She assumed he felt sorry for his friend, knowing his Veela parentage would gain him lots of female attention, and in return Alexander simply allowed himself to get pushed around to boost his friends ego.
With a roll of his eyes Alexander practically confirmed her theory and Aria couldn't stop herself from laughing once more.
Knowing that while Rosalind and 'Braydon'; as he turned out to be, would not be returning any time soon, Aria and Alexander chose to occupy one of the booths and get to know a little bit about each other, where Alex truly confirmed all of Aria's suspicions.
Upon Braydon's return, he flashed his rather large biceps, kissing each one in turn as he flexed them, before letting out a hearty growl, presumably this was a display of male dominance among his kind. His kind being; douchebags.
With another roll of her eyes Aria bid farewell to the men, thanking Alexander once more for his heroic rescue.
"How about a date?" Alex called nervously as Aria had just about reached the door.
"I'm sorry?" She replies, caught off guard.
"A date, here, with me. What do you say?" Aria shook her head unable to look away from that damn charming smile of his.
"I'll agree to a few drinks." She clarified. "Just send me an owl, you know where I'll be." And with that she disappeared once more down the path to Hogwarts, the grey sky above all the while threatening to rain down on her.

We talking about F/Os and Ocs? You've summoned a demon im pretty sure i talked about this Oc before im just not sure you got the message
My F/O name is Jane. She's a oc of mine and doesn't come from any type of media. She has brown hair with bangs and a ahoge that sticks straight up, along with a small ponytail that is down to her shoulder and is held up with a thick black band. She has black eyes and a pointy nose. Her outfit is a bit simple, she has a dark brown coat, a plain white shirt, a belt that can hold up big items, baggy jeans, and comfy brown boots. The only clothing that can be pointed out as unique is her bandana, which is a dark blue with a cresent moon and fake butterfly in the middle of it.
Her personality is timid and cold until provoked. When provoked her usual shy and fearful state can turn into something much more out of control and violent, luckily it's difficult to make Jane provoked. Happiness is rare but still possible.
Jane is also a misunderstood criminal as well. At a young age of 12 someone (she still doesn't know who to this day) found out her family was using magic and potions and thought the family was satanic and dangerous. Both assumptions were false, 1. Her family was actually quite religous and visited the local christian church every week. 2. Her family is the nicest people you'd ever known and the only reason they don't use it for dangerous reasons was because they were afraid someone was going to somehow find out how it was made and abuse the power. The person called a task force named the MPSC, which took away Jane's only family members, her mom and her dad. She barely managed to escape. She grabbed everything her hands could grab and just ran out of her small town and into the woods. The few things she kept with her were, a few potions, a notebook, a bandana her parents made, and a lullaby that she still remembers to this day.
12 years later, she's now a adult. She has been hiding for so long some thought she was dead. But she is still alive and well, she has a secret underground home that she built herself, that is small but oddly cozy. It looks normal if you ignore that it has no windows and a crap ton of LED lights. However there is one room in her home that looks bright and very dark at the same time, theres millions of cabinets, the whole room looks like a weird lab, and that's where she stores all her elixirs and potions. She has aleast 4,000 stored. Some are dulplicates of eachother and others are completely unique.
Remember when I mentioned that Jane is a misunderstood criminal? Here's something else that screwed her life up. A year ago someone somehow manage to catch her using magic and posted it online. Much to Jane's and the MPSC disliking, it went viral. News stations were talking about her. Theorists were making theories about her and how she magic was used and made. People were talking about her, some despised her, some didn't care. Everything went out of control, which led her to leave the woods where her home laid less often. Not to mention the "weird" stuff she'd seen people say.
However when she did go out she has to drink a shapeshifting potion that lasts 5 to 7 hours. She especially has to be careful of the time limit due to the nearest places was a huge city full of people, almost as big as tokyo. When she goes out as a whole new identity she tries to be as boring, predictable as possible, so people get bored of her quickly, she only does this because she doesn't want people finding out who she really is. If you're a stranger to her and somehow bump into her while she's herself she'll tell you to "Get lost and forget I was here" but if you keep on bothering her, be prepared to get knocked out because she always carries her elixir and potions and along with being 6'4 ft.
She may be intelligent to build a whole house and make magic. But she has very poor social skills. She doesn't even know what a hug or a kiss is.
Y/N: Hey Jane can I get a hug!
Jane: What's a hug?
Becoming friends with her is very VERY rare, due to the circumstances Jane has to live in along with the addition of trust issues. She will be very subtle with it or push it to the side. She did a small chore for you "because I had nothing else to do" Gave you a blanket or coat "Because you wouldn't shut up about the cold" Always being her first choice "Because you're the only person I can actually talk to". But she just doesn't know how to show affection so she does things that she sees as helpful.
Aight F/O gushing time, be prepared
She has a godly singing voice, if you bother convince her enough she will begrudgingly accept, but you will quickly be put into the most peaceful sleep you've ever been in your life! SHE DOES THIS FOR FREE ASWELL.
Once you're asleep she'll awkwardly just stare at you for a while, then once she's done she'll check everything to make sure everything is safe and nothing's going to kill or kidnap you. Once she has checked everything she has several options. 1. Cuddle up next to you. 2. If you're in a position that seems uncomfortable, her 6'4 body will pick you up and put you somewhere more comfy. 3. Sleep nearby you, she can not sleep in another room due to paranoia that you'll just dissapear by the time she wakes up.
She's very protective and scared that she's going to lose the one she loves (again). If you're in any kind of danger she'll help you escape or fight. However she knows that her lover isn't weak so she'll only panic when your actually in a serious bad condition. But for someone to protect her? Absolutely not! She can deal with herself thank you! But she only acts like this since she's in constant danger from the MPSC (the task force that's trying to hunt her down)
There you go my F/O Jane!
-glitch
SHE SOUNDS SO AWESOME?? I love her, she deserved the world :')
I'm really impressed that you came up with her! She sounds so thought out and we'll developed, I'm kind of jealous of your creativity lol /lh

Repost: Lovely Mess
*Comes up covered in dust and cobwebs* FOUND IT!
This one was nearly right at the bottom of my files. Good thing I somewhat remembered the title ah ha!
I can’t remember if this one had been edited or not. This fic features a whole whack of the Ipliers and the kind of chaos I would expect to happen around them

This was going to be his most brilliant idea yet! Why hadn't he thought of this before?!
Dr. Iplier giggled to himself excitedly as he put in the last few drops of chemicals. The concoction swirled with various shades of purple and pink as the chemicals began to settle. For an added experiment Dr. Iplier placed the tiny vial over a bunsen burner, just for a couple seconds. To his surprise the colours dissipated and the contents turned clear. To anyone unknowing this was just a vial of water.
If this worked he'd be the genius that invented the first safe chemical to act as a pleasure stimulant for women. It'd be just a grade below ecstasy. He could hear his bank account sucking in all the dough from royalties already.
Vial in hand he ran through the large house to find anyone that might find this interesting.
Barging into the kitchen he bumped into Weather Jim. Jim was holding an ice cube tray that he'd just filled with water and was about to put into the freezer. At the moment they collided some of Dr. Iplier’s chemicals splashed out and into all the ice cubes.
Dr. Iplier took no notice as the vial was still firmly held in his hand. “Sorry Jim! Hey do you know where Dark is?”
Jim glanced down at his nice, new, storm grey shirt. Seeing no splashes on him he relaxed, “He’s in the study talking to Wilford and Host.”
“Perfect! Thanks Jim!”
Jim, not really sure what had the doctor all eager, was curious. Maybe it was newsworthy? He hurriedly put the ice cube tray in the freezer and went to follow after.
~~~~~~~~
Darkiplier shot down the idea immediately.
“You neither have a doctorate or any education in chemical engineering. At best it’ll put people into a coma, at worse they'll die and I’ll be dealing with your court cases.”
Dr. Iplier was only half listening. As he'd held up the vial to explain he noticed that there was less in it than he remembered.
The silence of the room drew his attention back, “So that's a no on getting your sponsorship to do test trials?”
“Get out and dispose of that before you spill it on someone.” Dark was done with the conversation.
Wilford raised a pointer finger and opened his mouth. Dark shot him a glare, a touch of blue and red around his eyes. Wilford cleared his throat and shrugged at Dr. Iplier.
Through all this Host had a slight frown, his head turned in the direction of the glass of water on Dark’s desk. No one took notice of Host. If he wasn't narrating, he wasn't there.
~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, you came home from your weekend away. You were the cleaner for the Iplier home (after signing a mountain of non-disclosure contracts) and part of the arrangement was free rent with them. Once a month you took a weekend off and went to visit your family.
“I’m back! Did anyone break anything?” You juggled a couple bags of groceries as you kicked the door closed behind you.
The silence that filled the house made you pause. You put down the bags and wandered in further, “Hey! Anyone home?!”
You walked into the kitchen and found Bim sitting at the table. He had a glass of water in his hand, his eyes were closed and his head bobbed as though he were sleeping. “Bim?”
His eyes fluttered opened. “Huh? Y/N?”
“You get any sleep last night? You look exhausted.” You moved closer and put a hand to his forehead. You couldn't help but worry about the egos. Over time you'd gotten to be good friends with most of them, you and Dark were on decent terms.
Bim’s hands shot up. He took hold of the hand on your forehead and brought it to his cheek to start nuzzling, “You look beautiful today.”
Your brain stuttered. Did the shyest and most bashful man in the house just openly compliment you? “Okay now I know you're not well.” You tugged your hand free, Bim pouted up at you.
“No! I'm fine, I mean it. You're absolutely radiant. I’ve always thought so.” He got to his feet, his hands reaching out to take hold of you in an embrace.
You backed away, “No, you're not fine, Bim. I’m going to get Dr. Iplier, just wait here.” You took another step back and bumped into someone.
Spinning around you hurried to move to the side as Dark peered down at you with a rather intense glare, “Sorry Dark! I wasn't paying attention.”
Dark’s brows snapped together, his glare swivelled off you to turn on Bim, “Trying to pull their attention away from me, are you Trimmer?”
You were in disbelief as Bim kept his posture and announced in full confidence, “Their attention was mine first, Darkiplier. You're just too slow.”
The space around Dark became denser with his aura. An image of himself split off to the side to yell angrily.
You put your hand on Dark’s chest, “Whoa, Dark, easy. Something’s wrong with Bim, I think he's sick. Please don’t-”
The rest of your plea for Bim to be left alone was cut off as Dark grabbed you by the arm and pulled you flush against him. One hand went to the back of your head and the other arm around your waist. You were trapped in an intimate hold with your face pressed into Dark’s chest.
Panic and confusion swamped you. What was going on?! Dark treated you with professional courtesy. He barely ever touched you unless necessary. “Your focus needs to be on me. Let go of your concern for him, or I’ll make you let it go.”
His threat was murmured in your ear, his eyes never leaving Bim as he dared the other man to try and come closer to you.
He began to back step and take you along with him out of the kitchen. You, pressed against his chest, trying to get him to let you go, “Dark, whatever is wrong with Bim, you’ve got it too. Let go!”
“You heard them DarkaSparkle. Let. Go.”
You froze the same moment Dark did. Tilting your head you saw Wilford stood just to Dark’s side, the barrel of his gun pressed to Dark’s temple.
You shivered as the air around you grew colder and heavier. More images of Dark splintered off. Red and blue edged his irises, “They're mine. Or do we need to establish the pecking order so you get it?”
“Oh, no you don't! They were happy with me first! You two always take from us little guys. No more!” Bim marched out of the kitchen, his chest puffed out he stared Dark and Wilford down defiantly.
What on earth was going on?! This wasn't a dream, you could hear Dark’s heart beating and feel the pressure of his arm against your body. This definitely wasn't a joke. Dark didn't do jokes.
Wilford grinned showing all his teeth. Pink was beginning to lace through the brown in his eyes, “Tsk, tsk, boys, wrong answer.” His finger curled over the trigger. He was going to do it, he was going to shoot Dark point blank!
“The room froze. No one could move an inch. No one but Author.”
Your body locked into place. Tried as you might, to wiggle in any way, it refused to budge.
“The idiots had been so caught up in their threeway they didn't notice Author come into the room. He'd watched them have their little tug of war, blowing out hot air and hassling Author’s poor beloved. Now Author put a stop to things.” You heard his footsteps just beneath the cadence of his voice.
As nervous as Wilford and Dark made you, Author, by far, made you worry the most. Host normally kept this darker side under control. The only times it came out was when Host became overly tired or stressed. Judging by the way Author was speaking, he was afflicted with the same thing as the other three.
“With little effort Author removed Darkiplier’s hold on Y/N. Free of the edge lord’s embrace Y/N tumbled back into Author’s waiting arms.”
Your body did just that. Your muscles unlocked and you staggered back. Author’s arms encircled you protectively. You felt his face pressed into the back of your hair, nuzzling and inhaling your scent. Able to see you saw Bim, Dark and Wilford were glaring in Author’s direction.
“Y/N safely in his arms, Author lead them away. They'd get a good long head start before the other three were able to move again.” Over your head Author grinned at the other men. His eyes were covered by the bandages but he could still sense the animosity coming from them.
“Y/N DON’T BREATHE!”
The yell of warning came just before the sound of something clattering across the floor. A small metal cylinder rolled to a stop by your feet. A smoke began to spray out and fill the room. You made sure to hold your breath as first Author, then the other three began to cough.
One by one they dropped to the floor.
Dr. Iplier scurried into the living room and threw open the windows and plugged in a massive fan. Once it was roaring and blowing the smoke out he took hold of your hand and lead you upstairs. Clear of the smoke he let himself breathe again, “Glad I got there in time. Oh boy that was close huh?”
“What the hell is going on?!” You gestured back towards the four unconscious men.
Dr. Iplier put on, or tried to put on, a serious face, “Well let's just say someone was experimenting with something. Which somehow got ingested by those guys and everyone else. And it made them kind of…..vicious with love?”
Your eyebrows rose, “You gave them a rage inducing love potion?!”
“No I didn't…..I only made it, and didn't know it had these side effects. They're the ones that swallowed it.”
“Whatever! Can you undo the raging love chemicals?”
“Already did! After Yandere nearly killed the Jims this morning I figured out what was going on. That gas they just inhaled had the antidote. They'll be their old selves once they wake up.”
You sighed in relief to hear this, but you kept your expression stern as you pointed, “You are never to experiment with chemicals again. Am I clear?”
Dr. Iplier gave you a grumpy pout. You didn't budge. He grumbled, “Fiiiiiine.”
“Good. Now, when will those guys wake up?”
“DR. IPLIER I’D LIKE A WORD WITH YOU!” Wilford’s bellow made the entire house shake.
Dr. Iplier had took off the second he heard the first syllable of his name.

Late Night Louisiana Pt. 7
Summary: It’s late 19th century, Y/N moves to Louisiana to learn more about vampires. But what happens when she finds one likely creature of the night at Porterhollow Cemetery?
LNL Masterlist
Pairing: Vampire!bucky x reader
Warning: brief mention of rape
Tumblr media
"About earlier. That kiss. I'm not trying to start anything. I'm— there's— I'm no good at relationships. It would only end up in a mess." I said. I sat down on the chair in my kitchen
It's true, I've had a couple of men along the way, the relationships almost always end in disaster.
And I don't know if it was me or them. It always felt like it was my fault, they were always sure to tell me it was my fault.
"What are you feeling?" He sat down in one of the chairs next to me.
"Confused."
"About what?"
"I really like you. And I want to know more about you. And I want to be your friend, I really do. But I can't be harboring feelings for you. And you can't do the same either. It would just make us miserable."
"So you're saying that you feel the same way, you just don't want to be with me? Is it because of what I am? Is it because I scare you?"
"You are the most kind and gentle man I've ever met. You don't scare me, not one bit. I just think we'd be better off as friends."
"I can't just make them go away. The feelings, I mean. It's not like I can just make them vanish. But if you wish to just be friends, then we shall just be friends."
"We've only known each other for two days, you know." I chuckled, I stare into his eyes.
"You should know I don’t like everybody I meet. I don’t trust just anybody. You’re different, I can sense it. I can connect with very few people and have this feeling like I've known them my whole life, you're one of those people. I feel drawn to you. You're magnificent and kind. And you're very beautiful."
"Will you protect me, Wreck?"
"Of course, Y/N."
"Will you always tell me the truth?"
"Always."
"Will you tell me your name? You’re real name?" He hesitated for a moment.
"You already know it. James. James Buchanan Barnes, but back then friends called me Bucky." A small smile crept up on his lips.
"I should've known! You said it so quickly, I thought you might've known someone with that name or your alias."
"Will you tell me some of the stories you've heard about me?"
"Well no ones knows much about you, the stories are very vague. Most of the towns whores say you've slept with them, took the bandana off when you did the deed, some said you had honey brown eyes and other says emerald green eyes. Said you kept coming back for more." I bit my lip as I tried to hold in laughter.
"That's odious!" He scrunched his face up and physically cringed. "No. I haven't laid with a woman in decades. It's crossed my mind many a nights, but, no. Never. I could never sleep with one of those women. Nothing against who they are, just wouldn't want to catch something."
My eyes widen at the last sentence and he laughed.
"Have you ever laid with a man before?"
My body stiffened at the question, he was blunt and straight to the point. But the question reminded me of something I tried to forget every single day. "Yeah. I have." I looked down to my hands that were resting on the table. I traced shapes on the smooth surface, trying to keep my mind from those formidable memories. "Did I upset you?" He asked. He leaned down trying to look at my face.
"No. Just, I've um, l-laid with one man, uh, it was a terrible experience." I look to the the ground where my feet were. "Did he..."
"Yeah. He did." I whispered. My whole body felt uneasy, saying the words out loud was torture for me.
I had gotten drunk one night and a man took me to his house, against my will. I woke up the next morning and didn’t know what had happened the night before and I was feeling incredibly sore.
As the months went by I remembered certain things, terrible, awful things.
"My darling, I'm sorry. We don't have to carry on with this conversation. I can't imagine how it's affected you." He lays his hand on top of my hand that rests on the table, causing me to flinch.
The only thing I can do is nod, and I barely manage to do that.
"You've shown me such kindness over the past two days. I appreciate that, I truly do. In return, if you would, I'd like to stay with you. To protect you, from the evil of this world. Only if you would allow it. If you wish for me to be gone, then I'll be gone within seconds. I can see a great friendship unfolding if you let me stay."
I stare at him in disbelief, "I'd love for you to stay, I do get lonely here by myself sometimes but wouldn't you get tired of me after awhile?" I chuckled. "I mean you'd get bored for sure, I'm not an interesting gal."
"That's not true. You're very interesting, you can read, not a lot of women around here can read, well back then at least. I don't know about now."
"Well I'm sure there are more women around here that can read. But enough about that! What would you like to do the rest of the day?"
Truth be told, I hate talking about myself or of any subject that involves me, call it an insecurity, but for me I just hate being the topic of discussion.
"Why don't we go back to the lake?" He said.
"Yeah sure! Do you want to go for a swim?"
"I don't have anything to swim in." His brows furrowed and his lips frowned. I can't lie, he looked really cute.
"I'll buy you something." I beamed.
"I can't let you do that." He argued.
I stood up from the chair and walked to the door.
"You need a new set of clothes anyways, you can't wear the same outfit you've worn for the past couple decades." I playfully winked at him. I walked out of the house, he followed behind me.
On the way to the shop, we talked a little bit about everything, the sea, the outlaws he stayed with for a bit. It's so easy talking to him. He doesn't make you feel inferior or anything close like that. Nowadays people are so egotistical if they have a silver spoon. It's truly disgusting.
We make it to the shop and Wanda greets us.
"Y/N! Good evening!" She flashed her beautiful smile. "And who might this be?" She asked.
"This is Bucky, a friend from Texas. He's come down here to live with me."
Bucky walks closer to Wanda and shakes her hand. "Pleasure to meet you, miss." She nodded, her smile widened. "Pleasure to meet you, too, Bucky."
I got a couple outfits for him, he was a very picky shopper, at the end we got him black trousers and a couple tan and white long sleeve shirts. Nothing too fancy, he said.
I packed the new clothes in my leather bag and bid Wanda goodbye, we made our way to the lake.
"Isn't it just beautiful?" I said, we sat down on the sand, I set the bag down in between us. "It is, I've missed the water." He let out a sigh and kept his eyes on the moving water. "Why didn't you ever come down here?"
"I did, every couple a years, I don't know why I stayed in the cemetery for so long. I felt like it was the safest place for me."
"Why is that?"
"Because the dead can't judge you."
"I'll never judge you, y’know." I grabbed his hand intertwining it with mine, I brought the back of his hand up to my lips, gently kissing it.
We sat in silence after that. It was a moment I'll never forget. The sun was setting, the remainder of the sun reflecting off the water, the muffled music from across the street inside the tavern, the sounds of nature.
"You know, this is my favorite time of the day. When everything is winding down. It's so peaceful, and the sun isn't too harsh, it's perfect. I call it late night Louisiana. Has a ring to it, don't it?"
"It sure does, sugar." His lips curved upwards into a smile. His smile. How have I never noticed how perfect it was? His eyes crinkle whenever he smiles. Why is his face so perfect? Maybe being with him wouldn't be such a bad idea...
"Do you want to become human again? Fully human, I mean. With no abilities."
"I'd give anything to be normal again. Anything." He withdrew his hand from mine and looked down to the sand. "Maybe we can visit the voodoo shop tomorrow, they have elixirs in there, we can see what they have. Nobody ever buys their potions and elixirs because of your story."
He shrugged and lifted his head back up to look at me. Sadness deep in his eyes, laced with longing. "What if none of them work?"
"Well, we'll find out once we get there, won't we?"
"I guess."
I hugged his torso, "Let's go to the tavern."
We both get up and dust the sand off of our bodies. I grabbed my bag and we were off to the tavern across the street.
Bucky and I go inside and he orders the both of us a beer. I catch Steve walking past the windows of the tavern. I jump off the bar stool and turn to Bucky, "I have to go outside real quick. I'll be right back." I run out of the tavern and holler for Steve.
He stopped in his tracks and turned around. I walk up to him. "Hey stranger. Did you buy that book, that Stark's Amazing Finds?"
"I did, why?" He raised a brow and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well I was wanting to show Bucky what a walrus and a seal looked like. I was wondering maybe I could borrow it for a day." He scoffed and looked to the side, he kicked a rock with his boot.
"Why didn't you ever mention him to me?" Steve asked. "I guess I forgot to tell you about him."
"Y/N, we tell each other everything it at least that's what I thought. Why didn't you tell me he was moving in with you?"
"Steve, I just forgot. I'm sorry. Why do you care so much? It's not really a big deal."
"He said you were getting lonely livin all by yourself, why didn't you ask me to move in? I would‘ve."
He stepped closer. "I didn't think you'd want to live with me. You hate it when I talk about vampires. I can only imagine you getting frustrated with me everyday because I'm so focused on finding that damned vampire." I leaned against the outside brick wall of the tavern. I look up to Steve, he was up against the brick wall, staring at the water. The orange glow of the sun shone on his face, his blue eyes were even brighter, if possible.
"I would've learned to deal with it." He said, he turned his body towards me.
Nothing else was said. We were both staring into each other's eyes. He wanted to say something, I could feel it in my bones. “What is it?” I asked.
“I wanted to tell you something. It’s really important.” He started fidgeting, beads of sweat were on his forehead.
“Hey, you can tell me anything. You know that.” I smiled and intertwined our hands together. “Uh... Bruce is coming back into town.”
“Oh...” I let out a shaky breath, my heart was beating out my chest. It felt like somebody had knocked the wind outta me. “Do we know when he’s supposed to be here?”
“Sometime next week.”
“Next week?”
“Yeah, next week.”
“Is he— is he bringing...”
“Yeah. She’s coming too.”

Tutor (Neville Longbottom x Slytherin! Reader)
Chapter 2
Chapter 1
Notes: I had lot of fun writing this chapter! I hope you all enjoy, again requests are still open! @okaymalfcy
Word count: 3,120 (wOopS)
Tumblr media
You and Neville left Professor Sprouts class in a swift walk,  you were both well aware Snape wouldn't be at all happy that you two were late for his class. It was like torture for any gryffindor.  Especially Neville,
who he took additional joy in terrorizing.   Neville has probably lost more points for gryffindor in that class then any gryffindor had in their entire life,  including Harry Potter.
You both walked down the cold and drafty  halls beside each other, every so often a chill would run down your spine. The only noise came from both of your brisk footfalls and from the harsh, bitter winds outside, with books in arms you walked without saying a word. A few times Neville opened his mouth and looked at you like he was about to say something, but decided against it.
The near silence of the hall was ruined by the sudden noise of another pair of footsteps, they were a lot heavier and slower then you and Nevilles, the loud walkers came into sight when they turned the corner ahead of you. The two were tall, but also quite large and bulky, they wore slytherin robes that were filled with pastries at the pockets and they sauntered down the hall like they owned the school as they snickered to each other. Crabbe and Goyle. Surprisingly there was no sign of Draco Malfoy with them. Not that you were complaining.
You looked up at Neville's face, he watched the two large boys approach him with furrowed brows and his lips formed a striaght line. The smallest bead of sweat roll down his freckled face, it was like he was waiting for them to make some surprising grand gesture, like explode maybe. ‘If they kept eating they way they did, they won't be too far off of it’ you thought. Neville looked nervous, much more nervous than he always did,  which was saying something. He rubbed his clammy palms against his robe while you both continued to walk at your steady pace towards potions class and towards the two towering torments.
"Not them, not now" Neville spoke to himself  so quiet you just barely heard him.  He already had a pit of worry in his stomach from just thinking about the horror of potions class, he didn't need these two torturing him to add to his anxiousness.
You were hoping the two would just pass by peacefully, maybe they were feeling kind or something,  but you but knew that wasn't going to happen. They could never just leave Neville alone. He was too quiet to stand up to them, he was an easy target. But you were not.
The two parted from each other,  meters away from you , and had a wicked grin on their faces, they made a small gap in between them, almost big enough to walk in between, them but not quite. When they approached they roughly slammed each of their shoulders into Nevilles with the force of a small troll, sending the nervous boy onto his back with a yelp and a thud, his head whipped off the ground. That was going to hurt.
When he fell he threw his books into the air, sheets flew far from the books and they all flew in different directions, they floated to the ground like large pieces of confetti at a party and gently landed all around you while the books landed with a heavy thud, much like Neville did.
“Watch where you're going longbottom.” The two teased together. Their vile tones matched their faces, which were plastered with evil grins.
The two did nothing but snicker and give a nasty look to you while they walked away triumphantly. You clenched fists trembled  and your teeth gritted together hard enough to crush a rock. Fuck that, fuck them.
Your narrowed eyes shot to Neville, who groaned in pain as he held himself up with one arm,  the other held the back of his head where it hit off of the ground; then they shot back to the large boys, who hadn't gotten to far as of yet with their slow saunter,  still snickering to each other. Your blood was practically boiling. Your hand reached for your wand in your pocket like it were a pistol in its holster in an old western movie, you swiftly drew it out and pointed it at Crabbe and Goyle's large feet. You then did something very stupid,  something you knew would only end up getting you into trouble, but you didn't care. You whipped your wand in a circular motion and a small red spark darted from your wand and caught their ankles. On contact the spark crackled like a firework and the two boys lost their balance. Their knees wobbled like they were made of jelly for only a second  before falling flat on their faces with a loud thump, their thump were much louder then Neville’s, because both boys were much, much heavier.
They laid on the floor and whined dramatically and loudly,  like two children who had fallen in a playground. You lowered your wand and reached your arm out to Neville to pull him up onto his feet. His hand was still held on the back of his head after he dusted himself off.
Suddenly, loud and quick footsteps could be heard , looks like Crabbe and Goyles baby whining had attracted someone's attention.  A second later, Professor Mcgonagal sped around the corner and froze. Oh shit.  You sighed,  and in sync you and Neville turned to each other,  Neville looked like a deer in the headlights. She took one look at the layer of littered sheets and books surrounding you then looked further to end of the hall to see Crabbe and Goygle rolling on the ground,  holding their ankles while wailing in pain. You still had your wand in your hand, it was too late to put it away now. Then she was looking at you and Neville. Well, there goes your perfect track record.
“What in merlin's name is going on here!? Why are the two of you not in class!?" She questioned in a stern tone. Glaring at both of you with her large, angry looking eyes.
Your eyes were set onto the floor like a pair of weights and you took a step forward after a few seconds of silence.  You calmed yourself and took a deep breath.
"It was my fault professor, I was very stupid and didn't think about what I was doing"
Your eyes slowly looked up to her as you waited for a response.
"That is still not an answer to my question Miss Y/S/N.  I hope I do not have to repeat myself when you explain what happened in my office, but first, you and Mr. Longbottom will clean up this mess while I bring these boys to the infirmary,  when I get back this hall better be spick and span, is that understood?" Her eyes still glared at the two of you, all you could both manage to say was "yes miss." before she left.
Once the hall was empty you both quickly began to pick up sheets from the floor and put them where they belonged. Neville stopped and looked at you.
"You didn't have to do that y'know. Stand up for me, I'm used to it by now. "
You continued to pick up sheets as you spoke.
"I know, but i've been waiting to do that since the day I got here though, they're so rude,  and they eat all the good apple tarts! So really they had it coming, maybe now they'll know better."
"It was a bloody good spell by the way."
"Thanks Neville" you flashed a smile at him them continued to work
Neville smiled and went back to picking up the pieces of paper in his arms,  humming to himself softly.
"How's your head? " you asked, trying to break the silence still picking up and sorting sheets.
He rubbed where his head had hit the ground and winced quietly
"Still sore, but id say I'll be okay in an hour or two. It's become pretty resilient at this point." You both giggled, you did feel bad that his head had to be resilient in the first place.  You'd pay 50 galleons to wipe the smile from Malfoy's face for every time he thought he was hilarious by messing with Neville. Or anyone for that matter.
It took you both at least half an hour before you finished, there was still no sign of  Professor McGonagall yet.
You both stood in silence awkwardly before your legs started to ache so you sat on the floor against the cold corridor wall.
You looked up at Neville and smiled before saying,
"I'm sorry about this whole tutoring situation, I'm sure you've got much better things to do"
You did feel bad about it, and still quite embarrassed to be honest..
"Oh it's no problem, really. Herbology's easy once you get the hang of it, plus I was wondering, cause I've seen you in potions and you're really good, a lot better than me anyway-" he chuckled a bit and scratched the back of his neck remembering when the class had to evacuate because the fumes from his potion were so potent.  "- and I was wondering could you help me with that if I help you with herbology? That way we’re even." He started to bite his nails, gazing up at you with his puppy dog brown eyes while he waited for your response, hoping you would say yes.
"Sounds like a deal to me Longbottom."
You were flattered by Nevilles kind words, it was shown in your face by the light link shade your cheeks were dusted with. For all the effort and hard work you put into school it was very rarely praised or acknowledged,  though you were equally as good as other students, who often got complimented on their skills, yours went undetected, skimmed across and ignored. That was until now. They were just noticed, and praised. Thank you Neville.  You thought to yourself.
You picked yourself up from the wall at the sight of professor Mcgonagall returning, she looked just as angry as she did before,  she signaled for you two to follow her, and you did. Once you arrived at her office, you told her the whole story, and lost slytherin 40 points for your ‘reckless and impulsive behavior’ and landed yourself in detention tomorrow.
You couldn't wait for your house mates to hear about that one. You thought you lose more but seeing as it was 'an act of self defense' it was only 40, though that was still more than you wanted it to be. What was worse than losing the points is that you also disappointed Professor Mcgonagall which is what hurt you more. You had no real friends, your now tainted reputation with the teachers really mattered to you. You were a grade A slytherin student after all.
While this was going on Neville just sat in silence,  agreeing as you told the story. He did ask the professor to lower the amount of points you lost, saying he should have been watching where he was going.
"Mr Longbottom I highly recommend you stay quiet unless you want to join Ms.  Y/L/N in detention tomorrow."
"B-but professor-"
"That is enough Mr. Longbottom."
By the time the professor gave you permission to leave it was almost dinner time.  You usually spent this time in the library with your nose buried in a book, usually about potions. It was much more welcoming than your house table, plus the books never called you "filthy mudblood" like malfoy loved to do.
The corridors were crowded with different students filling the hall with loud chatter and laughter. You and Neville walked side by side.
"I'm sorry you got in trouble, this is all my fault" His eyes were fixed on the ground and his voice had a mixture of sadness and guilt to it.
"Hey no need to apologize" you elbowed him playfully with a smile on your face,  which transferred to his face when he looked at you. "Its what us slytherins do best."
"I mean, gryffindor isn't really known for staying out of trouble either,  especially with Harry around" He joked.
You both chuckled while you dodged between the older and younger students, like a forest covered in tall and small trees. You wandered the halls with no destination in mind.
"I mean we've got Draco Malfoy, I don't think it can get much worse than that."
"That's fair. "
You chuckled together and continued to converse, about your houses, what it was like in each of them,  how different they were. He told you about a wizard in Nepal, who is growing Gravity resistant trees, you thought it was all very interesting, you could see in his eyes just how passionate he was about the subject, his eyes would light up like christmas trees while he spoke about it.   Very few people wanted to listen to him talk about it, they usually asked him to stop by now so when you asked him to continue, he didn't know what to do other than smile widely and tell you about goes one day he'd love to go and see them, but his grandma said they couldn't afford it.  His love for the subject was one of the most endearing things, you grinned the whole way through his bumbling.
You told him about how people have been trying to use bravery and kindness potions to get into different Hogwarts houses, and how miserably they failed, one potion made someone about to brave, they went to the forbidden forest to show off , and still haven't come out. “Bloody hell, I mean i'd love potion to make me brave, but not that much,” he added
“You are brave Neville, you tried to bargain with Professor Mcgonaggle for godrics sake, if that's not brave i don't know what is.”
“But it didn't work though, you still lost 40 points cause of me.”
“Being brave doesn't mean your ideas work Neville, it means you realise theres a chance they won't but you try them anyway, it was my fault really, I shouldn't have lost my senses. But you stood up for me Neville, that's real bravery.”
“It's the least I could have done for you taking the bloody ankles off Crabbe and Goyle for me, did you see there faces?!”
You both aimlessly walked through the corridors  together while you talked, you looked down at your watch and gasped in shock as you seen the time. It didn't feel like you had been talking for that long at all.
"Merlin! Is it that late already!?  Neville we better get going to the dining hall, dinners almost over! "
You looked around you, you had spent so much time talking you wouldn't even  recognise where you were, you had been walking and talking for so long you didn't know where you had gotten yours too,  You both began to retrace your steps as you ran down not populated the corridors you took a few wrong turns, delaying you both even further. You felt your stomach grumble while the cold air around the school hit your face . After what felt like a lifetime,  you finally found yourselves in front of the giant oak doors, you both stopped and hunched over to catch your breath. Both of you seemed to be equally as unfit as each other, both of you wheezing and gasping for breath. Not to mention how your legs ached from all the walking. You never realised how big Hogwarts was until now, no wonder that girl from first year still hasn't been found yet.
Once you were able to control your breathing again you pushed open the heavy,  creaking door open and you walked in together, still panting quietly. The hall was loud with cheering and talking from all the tables as they ate their food. You had made it. When you entered it quieted down. Loud conversations turned into hushed discussions amongst the gryffindor and slytherin tables.  Hufflepuff and ravenclaw continued their conversations as normal, not even noticing you two. Groups of eyes from both the gryffindor and slytherin table set themselves onto you both. You looked at Neville with a nervous smile, he looked to you with the same expression. Soon you and Neville were ready to part ways to your respected house table; your table was already whispering about you while giving sly and disgusted looks your way, seems like they know about what happened, and all the points you lost them. Looks likes gryffindor knew too, they were whispering just as much. Though the looks they gave you and Neville was a lot less cruel and piercing . This was not going to be fun for you.
Before the two of you parted you arranged to meet in the library tomorrow afternoon, after your detention  to study together. You said goodbye to each other with a smile and a wave. When you approached your table nobody moved,  you walked to the end where very few people were sitting. They continued to stare and whisper, you wondered what they were saying,  but at the same time, you didn't want to know. Some even got up and moved away from you to another part of the long table, they fled like you had some infectious disease they were afraid to get. They did know you didn't kill Crabbe and Goyle right?  Because their looks could pass for the ones you'd give a magical murderer . You were a mudblood not a monster.  Slytherins were always ones for dramatics.
You watched Neville walk over to his table.  His experience was very different to yours. All the gryffindors welcomed Neville with friendly and curious expressions, wanting to hear all about what happened today; two of them,  who you recognized to be Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas , quickly parted to give him somewhere to sit as they bombarded him with questions, to be fair it was mainly the weasley twins asking the questions,  it was also one of the weasley twins who whistled and teased him about coming in with you, which turned your cheeks a light pink and tugged your mouth into a smile. You wish you had that relationship with your house,  that lovely friendship. But you were here as normal, on the outside looking in through the glass. On the bright side, you made a friend today , finally. You made a friend. And his name was Neville Longbottom.
