Do we really need to always look back to CQL everytime we talk about Web & XZ? CQL is an old news. We have more interesting and much better contents now. Why bother to always go back to it?
Web has Louyang to look forward to. It looks great. The costumes, the visual, the detective-libe story looks so promising Let's not forget Being A Hero, a very challenging role for him. And of course SDOC4 where we can see Web looks so relax and happy aside from DDU.
XZ has Oath of Love and The Longest Promise to look forward to. These two are FAR FAR SUPERIOR and more recognized literature works than CQL. Read the novels and you'll see how amazing the romance in these 2 are. Easily the best romance stories (perfect) for XZ. Then ADLD which shows his amazing range as an actor. Very challenging since it's a stage play with a very long running time. We still have Ace of Troops too which we have no news about it.
Do we really need to go back when they themselves have move on? We need to move on too.
It's funny, I was just saying a lot of similar things to someone earlier today.
Although I'm not convinced that the novel of OOL is so much better than MDZS. Tastes are pretty subjective and it's hard to make claims like that in such a broad way. I've heard very mixed reviews of the book OOL is based on. A lot of people describe it as a very het, very cheezy melodramatic story. True, that sort of thing has a broad appeal, but I'm not the target market.
I haven't heard much about the story The Longest Promise is based on, but the same applies. These things are a matter of personal taste.
Having said that, I'm really looking forward to all of their new dramas and projects, and while I will likely skip some of the overtly propagandistic ones, I can't wait to see them perform in other roles. OOL is near the top of that list for me. I can't wait to see GG in that role.
To me, The Untamed is great not only because of GGDD, but also because it's just an excellent, excellent drama with an outstanding cast. I've watched it, in its entirety, 4 or 5 times, plus I watched the Special Edition (which I did not enjoy as much - it felt hacked apart). I am a fan of the show, make no mistake about it. I even own the official photo book. I know I will watch it again. I love the show.
But when it comes to fandom about the show - all the meta and gifs and fanart and discussions and, to a lesser degree, the BTS - my eyes glaze over a bit, I can't lie. I feel like I've seen it all before a thousand times - the fandom is oversaturated with all of this - and I'm just more interested in what GG and DD are up to now. They both have exciting things happening in the here and now.
The Untamed will always be special to GG and DD, and to BXG. I mean, that's a given. It's where all of this started for a lot of people, it's where GGDD had a chance to work together. It's a great show, and they both gave outstanding performances. It launched both of their careers into the stratosphere - no one can deny it (although some solos certainly try). As queer actors, this might very well be the only queer role they ever get a chance to play.
But it's also been 2 years since it aired. In the world of entertainment, 2 years might as well be 2 decades, and that's only a slight exaggeration. It's old news for a lot of people who saw it around the time it originally aired.
Of course, there are always new people discovering it and new people coming to the fandom, so there will always be turtles in particular for whom all of this is brand new and exciting. We are probably always going to see people bringing it up as though it's new. Because it's new for them.
I hope we can all try to empathize with their enthusiasm and try not to put too much of a damper on it. I do my best in this regard. I'm still happy to take asks about the show and the BTS (although my memory of some of those things is going to be rusty).
At the same time, I hope turtles - old or new - will at least try to branch out and experience some of the other material GG and DD have created, and try to support 'the whole, individual man' and not just the relationship between GGDD. There's a lot of content out there. If you can't find it in your region try some of the unofficial sites like Dramacool.
If you haven't seen The Wolf yet, you're missing out. If you haven't been watching SDOC, you're missing out. etc. etc.
However, as I've said many times - everyone gets to be a fan in whatever way works for them. If The Untamed is new for you and you want to enjoy it, enjoy! If it's old to you but you're still attached and don't want to move on from it, enjoy! If it's the only thing that interests you about GGDD, enjoy!
But please recognize as turtles that GG and DD will be moving forward in their careers, and they will talk about/feature the show less and less in their posts over time. They will emphasize new content and move on from The Untamed, at least in terms of what they highlight in interviews and social media. This isn't a 'suppression of the show', it's just time marching forward.
Recognize that a lot of the fans will be moving forward as well. There will inevitably be some people who are sick of talking about it, who find it old news, or who are more interested in other things. This isn't a 'conspiracy of silence', it's just time marching forward.
Don't let yourself feel threatened by any of that and behave in ways that disrupt the fandom when the show isn't highlighted in the way you expect it to be. Don't make up scary stories in your mind about what you fear might be 'the real' motive behind this. The simple truth is, not everything about them is going to be about that show, and that will only become more true as time marches forward.
And that applies both ways. Like I said, I hope those of us who have mostly moved on will try to be empathetic to those for whom the show is new. I hope we can all try to respect each other's approaches and not be warlike about it.
In the end, we all just love these two fools, and if we focus on what we have in common we might find any friction melts away.
Important note
Please don't take this as an invitation to hit up my inbox with anti-BXG hate, messages denigrating The Untamed or BXG, etc. etc. Anyone sending me such garbage will be insta-blocked. I really like the jealous Y/N! How about this time the boys are jealous? :]
Alrighty! Little anon, I apologized for not posting this sooner. Something came up this week and prevented me from finishing this. 🌿💚🌿
Harem!AU
BTS’s Reaction To Getting Jealous
A/n: Also special announcement of this blog hitting 50 followers! Thank you everyone that have been supporting me and my work on the journey through the Harem Au! It was such a surprise to me when we managed to grow so fast in such a limited amount of time. I have quite a few ideas for upcoming AUs but we are still quite new so develop is meant to happened. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this 🌿 🌿 🌿 .
Masterlist
Kim Taehyung
When Taehyung got picked to be the Royal Consort, he thought that he would finally be able to spend the most time with you like before you guys have met Namjoon. Oh how he was so wrong. At least with Namjoon, he would have a reason to stay with you for a few hours for the monthly checkup but for him, he had to wait for you to take the initiative! As the consort, his contact to the outside world can only be reserve for private moments, and he can’t just randomly visit you whenever he wants to nor go on a date whenever he wants to. To make it worse, the others have been teasing him about getting neglected by you. Taehyung knows this might not be true but seeing how many people had come to hate him because of his status, he’s secretly afraid that you would come to hate him.
This especially worsens when more people entered your private circle. With Seokjin and Jimin being overly flirtatious with you, Taehyung almost had no chance to even have a night with you to himself. But being with you for so long, he of course knew you the best and know how much affections you have towards him. Using that information, he would purposely cling to you whenever he had the chance like a puppy marking its territory. With his witty mind, he knew just when to pull away before crossing the line. Sometimes, Taehyung would jokingly sulk within your arms about how you don’t spend enough time with him, but it will all be well as long as you promise him the opposite and smother him in affection.
“ Y/NNNN, I was feeling so lonely without you. Others even started to tease me, too...HMPH. Compensate me by spending more time with me! We can do anything, sleep, talk about politics, even go on missions.”
Kim Namjoon
As the head of the physcian department, there are several meetings every season that he must be present as a representative of the royal physicians. Namjoon have been extremely lucky to not have his usual time with you be corrupted with these meetings, but that soon came to an end as the upcoming meeting was rescheduled to days before the initial date. Unfortunately, that day was the day where he had your monthly checkup. Even though Namjoon could easily just rearrange the time, he finds that the change would be too bothersome and would mess up his neat schedule. As a result, the day of the your monthly checkup, Namjoon will be attending the meeting while the vice-head will be doing his work. The meeting unsurprisingly smooth and he found himself back in the castle just in time. What did not go as plan was when he heard you suggesting permanently changing the person in charge of your health to someone else.
As calm as he can be at times, Namjoon was bewildered by the nonchalant comment. Expectedly, his next action was to ask you why and try to untie the knots, despite already fearing the worse. Personally, Namjoon found comfort in the time you guys spend time with each other, an he has a feeling that you resonate to that as well. When you explained that with how busy he is with his other work, maybe being your personal physician won’t be that efficient in the long run. Not wanting to lose your guys’ time to another, Namjoon immediately refused your claims, stating that he was more than happy to put the extra effort for you. With what he said in mind, Y/N nodded, accepting his claims.
“ I’m afraid I would have to correct you on this. I do not find it frustrating nor annoying or any of sort when being made responsible for your health. In fact, I find it very much rewarding getting to spend more time with you.”
Jung Hoseok
As a minister’s son, it was shocking news to you with how familiar Hoseok seems in the streets. The boy was literally bouncing from one end to the other, seemingly knowing everyone in one of your guys’ dates. Truthfully, you’ve never seen someone so happy just being outside, especially someone that was born from the riches. You just assumed that nobles would frown in distasteful or worse whenever they are forced onto the dirty grounds of the streets, accustomed to having carpets payed everywhere they go. But how the miniature had proved you wrong. Amidst the moment, Hoseok could be mistaken as just a normal civilian if it wasn’t for his stunning face. Any lady that past by would have to stop and stare at his bright smile.
Hoseok, knowing that he won’t get lecture when out in the streets, decided to be his self for once and began socializing with them. You on the other hand, just stood by him casually, watching him enjoying himself, deciding to take him out whenever you have to go outside as well. everything was going smoothly until a person came up to the group, casually creating a conversation between him and you. Deciding to be polite, Hoseok greeted him but was ignored by the guy. Seeing how impolite he is, Hoseok tried to be as polite as possible but his patience was slowly running thin when he started to flirt with you. The last straw was when he jokingly said bringing you home to do the deed; Hoseok stood up, knocking his chair over with a loud ‘thud’, silently muttered greetings to the ones who were present, before pulling you towards the entrance. On the way, Hoseok couldn’t help but hold your hand tight while his eyes continue to agitated, predicting any other offender before they can even do anything. Seeing how serious he was, Y/N tried to comfort him, hugging him to prevent confusing any other people walking pass by. Looks like your little sunshine is not as bright when he is in a bad mood.
“ He was literally flirting with you the whole time! We will never go outside again... No, we will go outside but... Why didn’t you use your sword when he was being touchy with you?”
Min Yoongi
Yoongi is envied by many because of how much time he gets to spend time with you but the man himself just thinks that he is repaying you by taking away part of your worries. Regardless of the reason, he had got quite used to being alone with you most of the time whenever you’re in office. There will be times where people will come into your study but the time you guys’ spend alone with each other easily outweigh that. Besides, those poeple knew better than to flirt with you in front of your consort who is the highest rank in the harem. Even if he’s a fallen prince and has no power, Yoongi could still easily handle the minor officers on his own. Yoongi may be more vulnerable and desperate around you but he is still a prince that was train to become the future king. He, however, will only resort to that method when absolutely necessary, afraid of tainting your image of him, despite you knowing how skillful he is in this domain. Most of the times, he is very thankful that he is the resilient but sometimes, he must say that he somewhat regrets of deciding not to end those people in these situations.
Anyways, Yoongi, your little consort as well as little kitten, was behaving more like a feline as Jimin continues to flirt with you. The handsome brunette was onc again capturing your attention with his flirtatious remarks. Normally, Jimin would have a specific time slot that he would save to go visit you which was during the night. Today, however, Jimin decided to come and visit you during the evening, intervening with Yoongi’s perfectly peaceful time with you. It only got worse with Jimin obvious teasing smirks whenever he looks Yoongi’s way, as if silently challenging him to a fight. Now, similar to a panther, Yoongi stepped towards Jimin, and pick the said boy up and ‘kicked’ him out of the room, claiming that Y/N still have many things to do. Turning around, Yoongi could only smirk but immediately blushed when he met your amused gaze. Opening your arms, you offered him a hug, Yoongi could only obey and continued to flush when in your arms.
“ His actions prevented you from finishing your work so I-I wanted to...”
Jeon Jungkook
Despite hearing some pretty outrageous remarks in his life, his time with you is by for the strangest. With you seeming so experienced in your role, Jungkook had to somehow match your pace in his as well. As a result, Jungkook find himself especially hard working whenever he is alone with you. Not saying that he isn’t hard working at other times, Jungkook just puts out more effort when he is alone with you. Others who only see you in public, assumes that Jungkook sucks at his job and tried to degrade him from his position, knowing how much benefits would approach them when becoming your personal guard. Jungkook, of course, knew about their intentions but ultimately decided to ignore them as he deemed it not worth his attention.
The thought remained in one of the small crevices in his head, seemingly forgotten until one of the minister mentioned of a possible candidate for the second personal guard at your side. Like a sharp knife penetrated his heart, Jungkook felt dissapointed when you did not do anything but a “needing more time to think about it” comment. On your way back to your office, you asked Jungkook a question that suprised him. But of course, he honestly answered your question and before he knew it, he witness your direct rejection of the minister’s offer.
“ Truthfully, I do not think it is necessary to have another by your side. He would just only hinder you. I doubt that he would even be able to protect you when anything unexpected comes up. I-I also have a feeling that the minister is planning something, and I don’t trust him.”
Kim Seokjin
Seokjin knows that the moment he decides to chase you, there will definately be many candidates that would block the way. Despite this, he found himself enjoying most of their company yet a part of him still remain conscious of what’s happening behind the curtains with each of them. He knew that there might be a chance of you having an intimate relationship with one or even more of them with you being a ruler an all. But Seokjin could not accept how his heart would tighten every time an affection is aimed towards you. If it was in the past, he would have proudly intervene and claimed his status as your fiancé but now that you guys ar adults, doing that will cause more harm than good.
As a result, whenever Jin sees you be intimate with just anyone, the merchant made sure to lecture you on your guys’ next meeting. Complaining how you’re too open and that anyone could presume the wrong idea about your intentions. He would then show you all the ‘safer’ positions, purposely doing it in front of the servants for the to go gossip about your intimate relationship. Seokjin made sure to make some of them extra touchy to rile up the entire harem.
“ You are a nation’s ruler but why are you so naive! They may be your consorts but what would others think when you gets touchy with each other? No! You have to do this, raise you hand higher, straighten your back...”
Park Jimin
Jimin, your lusty and flirty consort is bound to get jealous when he sees his person get smothered from someone else. Contrary to what people would envision his jealousy would be, it would depends on how ‘severe’ it is — as Jimin likes to say. With how he is trained, his vulnerable self-esteem would be blown away if he witness some things that caught him off his guard. Especially, with Taehyung, who he can somewhat resonate with, it will be a journey for him to not withdraw and go talk to you.
Anyways, it was one of those nights where you and Taehyung were cuddling in bed when Jimin came in, excited for your guys’ night together. However, his smile turned upside down when he saw the pile you both had accumulated on the bed. Knowing that it was his time to exit, Taehyung left the room and the two of you were left in an awkward tension. Jimin, who was crossing his arm, eyes not daring to meet with yours, lips jutted out forming a pout, remaining in his original spot. Y/N, despite how tired they are, dragged Jimin to their bed and let him sulk for however long. Let’s say that it was less than what he would admit, before he snuggled into Y/N’s warmth and went to sleep also.
“ HMPH!”

Let’s talk: RUN episode 130
by Admin 1
A week has passed and it’s time for the continuation of last weeks tennis episode, this time with BTS coming together on a tennis court to decide who the BTS Tennis Champion is, excluding Yoongi who was the MC and umpire due to his shoulder. He was joined by one of the coaches who’d previously given the members lessons at the club we’ve seen them at in last weeks episode.
Before I truly get into it, and let me tell you, for those who haven’t seen the episode yet but are still reading this anyway (thank you so much for that), there is a lot to get into. Especially when it comes to vmin. It was a feast this week, I can tell you that much (so fellow vminnies prepare yourself to get annoyed and upset with you know who again this week as is tradition whenever we get a lot of vmin, am I being shady/petty?). But the other members were comedic gold as well, especially Yoongi with his amazing commentary, and fellow namjinists, we got a few nice things as well.
Funny thing is about an hour after the episode went live, the following ask appeared in our inbox and, at this point, I hadn’t seen the episode yet so reading this made me giggle but also very curious to see what exactly even happened that led to Jimin carrying Tae, as well as how Jimin did that since I immediately thought back to that moment at MAMA 2019 where he tried yet failed to lift Tae.
From anon: Tonight's Run episode. Omg. When JM carried Tae and pretended to give him mouth to mouth, Tae gay panicked and said 'Hold on!' and swiftly got up and went back to the court. I cannot with these two. 😂It's always like someone is brave and then the other one panics. Come on VMIN you can both be brave hahahaha
But lets start...at the beginning (and make yourself comfortable because this ended up being a truly long one, also spoilers for who the winner is will be marked):
The episode opens with the members reminding themselves (and the viewer) why they are on that court again (as well as Hobi playing so much with his racket that he ends up dropping it, aww) and also letting us know that a solid 3-5 months have passed since the previous episode was filmed. Furthermore they talk about how, due to their schedules, they didn’t really have time for practice (as in they basically conclude they were bad at keeping up with this project and mostly merely went to practice once while Yoongi commented how they probably should’ve chosen something a little more approachable with a schedule like theirs), seeing as in the meantime Dynamite was released and they also had MOTS ON:E to practice for and perform. I do love how the editors flexed Dynamite’s BBHot100 longevity in the subtitles.
Since the members all spoke toward the center, mostly turned around toward Jimin and Yoongi, Seokjin commented how they should also talk toward him, which Tae took as funny invitation to stand exceptionally close to Seokjin making him laugh with a big smile on his face. When I tell you I adore their dynamic and bond, I truly mean it.
Yoongi is announced as MC and joined by Coach Kim, to whom the members apologize for forgetting everything he taught them. Next they move along to explaining the “rules” which basically ends with none of the rules actually being explained and the members making jokes about how headshots are against the rules. Then the order and pairings for the starting matches are chosen by chance by Yoongi and Coach Kim, though Hobi and Seokjin are separated so they won’t end up playing against each other since Hobi is the only one with past experience while Seokjin was the only one who actually went to practice four times between last episode and this one.
While that’s happening, we get a wide shot of the court and the RUN crew giving us once again an idea of just how many people are involved to film these episodes and how many pairs of eyes are watching them. (this is something some people truly should remind themselves of more often when coming up with...theories.)
The order is decided as Hobi vs JK, Namjoon vs Tae (can we please talk about how, when Namjoon is pulled as Tae’s opponent, Seokjin quietly comments how he wanted to play against Namjoon? Cute!), and Jimin vs Seokjin. After the pairs are decided there’s this small hilarious moment where Seokjin stands a little further back and pulls out his phone and is promptly snitched on my Yoongi. In his defense Seokjin says that his dad was calling him so it was a completely valid reason to check while the other members complain about him having brought in his phone at all. Namjoon even tells him that he shouldn’t use his dad as excuse to which Seokjin challenges him if he should show him his phone as proof.
Then, finally, the matches begin. Yoongi and Coach Kim settle behind their umpire desk while Namjoon and Seokjin sit in the stands behind them to the left, thus on JKs side, and Jimin and Tae on the right, thus on Hobi’s. Who starts the match is decided in good old BTS fashion with rock-paper-scissors and we are treated to Yoongi calling Hobi a dummy which had me howling with laughter.
We also get chaos immediately as Tae pretends to be the ball boy on JKs side, though quickly gives up his job and returns to his place. All signs point toward Tae being in a fantastic, comedic mood once again. We love to see it. As the match is happening, Yoongi comments on how it’s actually surprisingly fun to watch, with which Namjoon agrees (and so do I). They all get so into it making it double fun to watch and even easier to cheer along and get emotionally invested in what’s happening on screen.
During the second half of JKs match with Hobi, Tae asks Coach Kim what kind of player JK is to which he replies that he’s a passionate one, and upon prompting clarifies that JK always stayed longer after practice to practice some more. That certainly sounds very much like JK, and fits with what we’ve seen in the previous episode. Despite that Hobi wins the match!
Next up is Namjoon against Tae. Jimin playfully takes up the role of Tae’s coach, hands him a bottle of water and carries his racket while Tae ties his shoes and then approaches the net for rock-paper-scissors. Upon seeing their shenanigans, Seokjin jumps in as Namjoon’s coach, making sure he has spare balls and that he actually goes to the net as well.
Before the match even begins we get Namjoon asking first Seokjin, who says he doesn’t know, and then Coach Kim if he’s even holding the racket properly which Yoongi comments upon saying he’s holding it the way you would a knife while cooking. Honestly Yoongi is on fire this episode with funny commentary. Then as they get to rock-paper-scissors, Tae as the most endearing human ever asks upon his angels (with Yoongi asking the editors to add in actual angel graphics for his sequence) to help him win, which he does. He gets to start off the match.
Namjoon is certainly the funniest tennis player among the members adding in little hops and spins making everyone laugh so, so much. Coach Kim comments upon how, because Namjoon was so busy, he didn’t get to learn how to do backhand and thus only knows how to do forehand (please don’t ask me what that means and what kind of effect that has because I have no clue). Speaking of laughter, at some point Seokjin is laughing so much and so hard Hobi turns to him and asks “why are you so happy?” but we never get an answer. Interestingly enough, as they announce a serve change, so Tae serving instead, Seokjin immediately stops laughing and looks focused again.
Also at some point they realize that Namjoon was playing with someone else’s racket, leading to Namjoon switching to his actual one, while Coach Kim says that Namjoon had left his racket at their gym which Seokjin comments by saying “that’s Namjoon”. We’re also treated to Nam-derer (Namjoon + Federer) and Tae-kovic (Taehyung + Djokovic) by Seokjin. Honestly, extra points for creativity. The match ends with Namjoon losing, ending up at the net and immediately being ready to bump elbows with Tae accepting his defeat. Absolutely hilarious match!
Next up is Seokjin against Jimin and it starts with Seokjin promptly loosing three points one after the other with the other members commenting that tennis is a mind game and Jimin’s mind is good. Jimin loses the next point, thus the members idea of Jimin potentially winning a “perfect game” (without Seokjin getting any points) is gone. Although it’s meant teasingly, this is still really cute:
Upon being prompted by Namjoon to bring out his (Jimin’s) true tennis skills, the game turns around and Seokjin goes into the lead. Soon thereafter the score is 5 for Jimin and 9 for Seokjin which leads to Tae calling out the score to Jimin (saying Jiminie) as 5959 which apparently is both a lucky number and phonetically similar to something you’d say in a cutesy way to a child or someone you love in Korean, and on top of that it’s also 9595 backward. Unfortunately all that soulmate luck doesn’t help since Jimin still ends up losing the match.
Next up is Hobi against Tae with Hobi “teasing” Tae by claiming that he’s certain Tae will win. The match starts off with Hobi winning twice but Tae gets into it soon enough and they actually manage to get a few rallies going, as well as Coach Kim commenting on how you can tell that Hobi has prior training. As they reach 6:7 for Tae, Jimin and Namjoon start chanting KIM TAEHYUNG, with Jimin, Seokjin and Jungkook also doing some additional “cheerleader” moves. Very sweet and supportive! Look at their smiles, look at Jimin’s smile! He does that a few more times as Tae wins more points.
Then we get to the moment that had everyone, vminnies and non-vminnies alike, in absolute shambles: Tae hurts himself (though I’m still not 100% certain if it was a joke or he actually hurt himself even if just a bit) and falls to the ground, Yoongi rushes in with a big smile while calling for a medic and Jimin runs over saying he’ll carry Tae. Which he does, just like anon said. Look at him! How is it possible that somehow Tae turns so smol whenever he’s in Jimin’s arms? Also just how strong, exactly, is Jimin that he can just pick up Tae like that despite Tae being taller, and therefore also surely a little heavier than Jimin?
Also can we please talk about how Tae hooks his arms around Jimin, how he nestled his head against him, and also about that barely visible (from our angle and due to Jimin’s shoulder) smile on Tae face as he’s being carried? And also Namjoon’s face. Of course he’s there as well because what would be a vmin scene if Namjoon wouldn’t be there as well haha.
That’s still not everything (truly this episode is a gift that keeps on giving) since Jimin puts down Tae on the stands and proceeds to give him pretend CPR and acts like he wants to also give him mouth-to-mouth which makes Tae giggle/laugh, but not just any laugh, it’s his Jiminie laugh. Catch me crying. After that Tae gets up and ends up winning the match giving us the following (it’s not too visible in the gif but my heart melts at Jimin’s happy/fond smile):
And thus the final match is Kim vs Kim, place your bets now before continuing on. I do love how seriously Jimin is taking his “coach” job as he once again stands by Tae’s side before the match begins and carries his racket.
Since this is already getting outrageously long (and there are still 16 minutes left) I’ll just mention a few highlights instead of a detailed commentary. Also, if you don’t want to know who wins, I’d recommend skipping this part. I’ll add a bold Match Over at the end so just scroll until you see that.
Tae and Seokjin tease each other which Seokjin delivering the following line “I’ll prove that the underdog can’t make it to the top”.
Tae fails his first attempt at a serve, but upon second try, wins his first point.
Tae asks for more balls so he can keep some in his pockets which is commented by JK as Tae being greedy for balls because his mom didn’t buy him the toys he wanted as a kid. Another member, though I can’t for the life of me figure out which, asks what he’s talking about, and then Namjoon puts an end to the antics.
Seokjin rolls up his sleeves (things are getting serious serious) and Namjoon wishes him good luck (we love a supportive leaderbf). This is followed by Namjoon wondering if Seokjin is Shapovalov and Seokjin wins the point.
Seokjin wins the first set and they switch sides.
Seokjin tries to pick up the ball by hitting it with the racket just like they’d been taught in the previous episode but hits the ground instead. Yoongi wants to give him a yellow card but only has a yellow pen which he holds up instead.
They get a fantastic rally going but unfortunately Tae loses because he hits the ball too hard and it goes OUT. JK says it was so good there should be a slo-mo to commemorate that rally which makes everyone laugh.
Tae hits the ball into the OUT and nearly hits Jimin and JK which prompts Jimin to chant something in Busan satoori along with JK but Namjoon stops them by saying that they’re in Seoul.
The ball gets stuck in Tae’s racket, something that happens very, very rarely and thus the members decide to give him that point simply because of that. Namjoon also tells Tae he should buy a lottery ticket.
Finally, because “hard work never betrays”, Seokjin wins! He also wins, according to me for the cutest smile because honestly LOOK AT HIM, how can anyone not be endlessly fond, endeared and enamored with him? That’s scientifically impossible and should be a punishable crime. Am I exaggerating? Who cares!
Also Hobi gently, so very gently, dabbing away Seokjin’s sweat with his sleeve.
Seokjin receives a skinny little gold medal, which Tae sneakily steals from him like a little squirrel while Seokjin gives a speech while being the most humble and very Seokjin.
MATCH OVER
After the game the members gather at a restaurant with the bill being paid by Seokjin, which is something the members simply decide upon though Seokjin makes a joke about having forgotten his wallet at home. What a nice prize for winning, makes it totally worth it, right? The first dishes that are served are seafood which Namjoon comments on by saying that he can’t eat them, but he needn’t worry because there was plenty, and I mean plenty, more food to be tried and eaten.
Overall the dinner featured some funny and interesting moments such as:
Hobi, Tae and Seokjin playing the “tangsuyuk” game which Namjoon calls childish and yet makes a game out of him saying “child” and Jimin “ish” with a laugh and smile on his face.
Jimin and Seokjin having a funny/cutesy conversation in a mix of Korean and English which is followed by Seokjin saying they should now only talk in English, which Hobi accepts. The only ones who do it are Hobi and Seokjin (who shows off two sentences with great pronunciation) and then it’s over and they switch back to Korean.
JK saying “I wanna be a lobster” to the tune of “I wanna be a rockstar” from Interlude: Shadow.
An extreme closeup shot of Jimin trying Peking duck including some ASMR for those who like it.
JK and Seokjin reaching for Seokjin’s drink at the same time with Seokjin telling JK he should order his own instead of trying to take his (later we see JK still drink from Seokjin’s glass). Jimin also asks for a sip (though he might be talking to Hoseok since there’s a glass standing between them as well from which we see Jimin drink).
Tae wonders what they’ll be going through in the next episode of RUN which gets commented as “reasonable doubt” by the editors in the subs.
Jimin tells the story of how he went to a hair salon with Yoongi though at first he can’t remember when it was. Tae and his vault of Jimin memories though does, saying that it was for their profile pictures before debut. The story goes that Jimin got an asymmetrical haircut which apparently was so bad/funny Yoongi couldn’t look at him and left him behind to meet with his friends instead. Once Jimin arrived at the dorm, Hobi woke up from his sleep yet, upon seeing Jimin, “fainted” because he laughed so hard.
As final dish they get mattang which reminds them of the mattang JK made in an older episode of RUN which ended up basically being completely immovable and stuck to his plate. “First is cleanliness, second is cleanliness, and third is adhesiveness.” I’m not surprised that we remember these things, but looking at how much they do, see, and have to remember, I’m always amazed by the fact that they remember such small things as well.
Jimin asked how long they’ve been doing RUN for to which JK says “10 years” making everyone laugh. Yoongi though comes through saying that they started in 2015, which is correct.
In the end they get some coffee and Tae asks if they should leave for their next shoot now, something it seems they’ve been stalling on doing since Tae already asked that twice before and they came up with things they should/need to do or eat before that.
And that concludes the episode! Wow, this turned out way too long. If you actually made it this far, I truly applaud you and also thank you sincerely. I loved this episode and I just had a lot to say, I suppose. This might be one of my new favorite episodes, which I have a feeling I’ve been saying for the last couple of episodes as well, but what can I say, these episodes have really been amazing recently.

BTS American Hustle Life Ep6
Ep 5 recap:
BTS are still in LA learning about hip hop. After their lyric challenge last episode, they had a little party (bbq) with Warren G to celebrate. Over dinner Warren G asked them if they got to spend much time with their friends and family and we learned the heart-breaking truth that they don’t and that it’s been 2 years since some of them have even been home.
The episode’s challenge was to shoot a music video and their task was to find some women to appear in the video. Cue some hilarious and cringeworthy moments as 7 terrified lads combed the streets trying to speak to the opposite sex. The filming was equally – if not more - hilarious to watch.
Onwards and upwards…
So they are still filming and straight away Jungkook is getting himself into some mischief. I laughed when the stylist hurried out yelping to get out of there because he doesn’t have a spare outfit.
Jungkook makes it back to solid ground and starts recording his self-cam again. ROFL at him running away squealing when one of the ladies plays up to his camera.
Now the ladies are in bikinis and sunbathing and the groups have to sit next to them and film. I almost couldn’t breathe from laughing especially when V, Jungkook and Suga walking away pretty swiftly after they’d finished; Jungkook saying he nearly *died* back there. And Suga grinning like he’d just been released from prison and saying he’s relieved it’s over. I really never expected Suga to be so nervous of women! He’s usually so chill.
Lol at the three of them watching Jin and J-Hope filming with the ladies (and acting fairly naturally) and Jungkook wondering how they can have fun like that as he thought his heart was going to explode and he’d die *crying with laughter emoji*
Ah, it was really no surprise that J-Hope won the challenge. He was the only one who had fun, could get within a foot of a women and not look two seconds from shitting himself LMAO.
His and Jin’s reward for being the winning team was a collectible figurine/model of their choice? Cool!
Next day…
So Jin and J-Hopes next challenge is to find their beat box master but they have to beat box in the street to draw them out? I totally agree J-Hope, it’s utterly embarrassing. Yep, I had a little fast forward through that.
So they find their master, Fraahz and go back to his place where he goes through the basics of beat boxing with them. Their attempts are cute, although I think that microphone may need to be turned upside down to drain the spit ewwwwww looooooooooooooooooool.
Elsewhere, RM and Jimin’s task is to find their dance master – lol at RM’s pained reaction at having to dance again
Oooooh they’re going to learn some bboying! Wow, Jimin picks it up pretty well – I always thought he was a good dancer (since he led the dance class in Carpool Karaoke) that’s why I was surprised that J-Hope was considered the band’s best. RM does a pretty good job too! They really are such a cute duo. It’s quite a unique friendship they have – hard to describe. Bet they’re knackered after that dance session though.
Yep! Well… RM is knackered.
V(?) teasingly trying to wake him up and RM kicking his leg in retaliation. This band really do act like brothers. It’s like they’ve lived together since they were born.
Lol at Jin and J-Hope repeatedly bursting into giggles as they fail time and time again to get through their beat box and meditation practice.
******************************************
It’s the next morning and RM and Jimin meet their dance teacher in the park for a little exercise (although they claim they didn’t know it was for exercise).
AHAHAHAHA RM almost dead after running a couple of laps. To be fair it’s probably scorching outside which won’t help. LMAO, the dance teacher putting the weight jacket on Jimin as the exercise was too easy for him. Poor Jimin and RM look absolutely floored by the end – I hope the walk back to the dorm isn’t too far for those tired little legs.
They’re back in the dance studio later on and poor RM get’s hit in the head by Jimin’s foot – aww. RM gets revenge by slapping a high five to Jimin’s hand/wrist extremely hard *crying with laughter emoji*. I love these lads so much <3 They are such characters.
Jin and J-Hope meet Fraahz again in the park to go over their beatboxing practice. I was impressed that they managed to get through the meditation without bursting into giggles. That part with them turning animal sounds into beats was hilarious.
******************************************** While the others are working with their masters V, Suga, and Jungkook are chilling at the dorm watching basketball and Jungkook is pretending to shoot people with a tablet… Lol, here comes Tony and N to spoil their fun! What are the three of them going to get? RnB!
Wait whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! Hold the **** phone. Did they just say they’ve never heard of Whoopi Goldberg????!!! I ain’t from the states either man but she is a l-e-g-e-n-d. These three lads need to sit down and watch Sister Act 1 and 2 STAT.
Iris Stevenson, the woman Sister Act 2 is based on, is such an inspiration.
OMG they are going to get to do some gospel singing! *squeal*
Wow, Jungkook, you have such a nice voice <3 What an absolute cutie.
This was a great thing for the 3 of them to do. Not only was Iris’s happy and motherly soul something I think they desperately needed but, from what the lads were saying afterwards, I think musically it was important they learned how to feel love for singing again. The amount of practice they had to do as trainees – and no doubt still have to do - and the type of practice, as well as the stress of trying to ‘make it’ seems to have taken a lot of joy away from their art. And that is a real shame. If you don’t like what you’re doing, if your heart isn’t in it, then how can you possibly be happy? You certainly won’t be the best you can be!
Aww V has a wonderful voice for this kind of music too. But he’s not feeling well :( You need to rest up sweetie.
Iris is such a lovely and amazing woman.
Go V and Suga bragging about how great Iris is <3 Wonderful lads.
Okay, so they are going to each show off what they’ve been learning and then score themselves out of 100 “fairly”. Why do I get the feeling that “fair” will be used very loosely lol.
J-Hope and Jin did well with beat boxing although I think Jimin and RM were a little harsh with giving them a score of 69. Bet that gets reciprocated when it’s their turn. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I was right lol. RM did really well with the dancing thought, kudos to him.
Next up it’s Suga, V, and Jungkook. Aww sweet Jimin getting up out his seat to hug V and tell him how much he loves his voice <3 <3 And ten seconds later he rigs the scoring so that he and RM are not last *facepalm*. At least he takes it back at the end and honestly gives them a score of 100 points. This means he and RM lose and the punishment is….
The winners get to smash the losers faces into a plate of whipped cream. LMAO. This I have got to see!!!
Oh Jungkook… <3
“Oh delicious”
But Tony’s “Welcome to America” in reply just killed me
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha
Look at the happiness on Jungkook’s face *crying with laughter emoji*
*dead*
There are so many crude analogies that I could make here… Jungkook creaming Jimin’s face and them both loving it but I will… refrain.
LMAO RM flinging cream all over the place in retaliation.
So we got to see the music video and it was quite good. I felt it wasn’t very polished though as there was a noticeable difference between the colouring/lighting between the car scenes and the scenes at the mansion that you wouldn’t expect/want in a professional MV. I really like the song though.
Final musings.
Another enjoyable episode. This one was both fun and funny. The boys have got great personalities and can make even silence seem interesting. They are a delight to watch and I’m so glad I’m still at the beginning of the journey <3
Two eps to go: Episode 7 up next…

Kim Seokjin x Reader ~ The Big Secret [Part 2]
[My BTS Masterlist]
A/N: Please note that this story is not trying to insinuate that any of the members would/do act like they do in my writing; this is all fictional and coming from my imagination. Also, this story does not strictly follow the timeline or realistic details.
I apologize for any plot holes; I’m pretty sure there are quite a few, but I’ve been very busy with personal issues to write, so I wrote this all in one sitting! I’ll try to comb through it all later to fix any issues. Feel free to let me know if you spot any contradicting details or grammar/spelling issues.
Word Count: 3505
The door behind Jin opens and within that very second, a young woman leaps onto the man in question, all four limbs wrapping around the man in question. Six pairs of eyes pop out of their respective heads, blinking rapidly as if the action will aid them in understanding the events currently taking place.
“Oh! You brought your friends with you,” the young woman remarks, pulling back her face, which was nuzzled into Jin’s shoulder. She releases her grip and straightens out her clothes before waving in all the men standing at her doorstep. “Please, come in. I apologize for the mess, but my brother was in a hurry this morning and left all his belongings scattered about; my own schedule has been hectic, so there hasn’t been any time to clean up after him.”
Now, as the six Bangtan boys stand in the apartment with wide eyes, their jaws dropping in further emphasis of their shock. The living room has heaps of clothes and shoes from designer brands draped all over the furniture, recording and producing equipment pushed up against the furthest wall, piles of expensive jewelry scattered on the coffee table, and several boxes filled with a diverse selection of cosmetics pushed beneath said coffee table.
Taehyung is the first to move while the others remain fixated on the priceless items in the room. He wanders carefully past the jewelry-covered table and stops to admire the numerous glass frames hung up on the wall. The very first design catches his attention; a metallic-silver background— most of its surface is covered by five signatures— accentuates a shiny blue logo that the young idol is very familiar with.
“OH MY GOSH, IS THAT A SIGNED ALIVE ALBUM?! WAIT! THERE’S ONE FOR EVERY ALBUM BIGBANG HAS RELEASED, AND THEY’RE ALL SIGNED!!”
This shout of excitement has everyone’s head snapping to look over at Taehyung, who is nearly crying tears of joy as his eyes rake over all the signed album covers hung up on the walls. Jungkook and Jimin run up to join their friend in admiring the displayed collection.
By now, Jin has disappeared into the kitchen and started to brew tea for all the members and his mysterious female friend. When the broad-shouldered idol returns, he and the young woman beside him are met with expectant glares from the rest of Bangtan’s hyung line— mainly Yoongi.
“Who the h-”
“What I think Yoongi-Hyung is trying to ask,” interrupts Namjoon, who has the group’s image in mind; he worries over the possibility of the woman before him recalling Yoongi’s brash words in the near future to fuel the beginnings of a scandalous article, “is: ‘Who are you?’” A timid, dimpled smile stretches across the leader’s lips as he waits patiently for a response. He nearly breaks into a nervous sweat when his hyung and the woman look at each other, a silent conversation taking place between the two.
“I’m Seokjin’s girlfriend and childhood bestie, Kwon (Y/n). It’s very nice to finally meet you all!”
Namjoon nearly faints.
The expensive paraphernalia lying around in the room and the albums on the wall suddenly makes sense. This apartment does not belong to just anybody. This apartment must belong to Kwon (Y/n), as in Kwon Jiyong’s sister.
Of course, Namjoon cannot prove such a presumptuous statement without actually asking (Y/n) herself, but he has a strong suspicion that his assumption is true. Sure, the surname “Kwon” is fairly common, but there have been articles in the past hinting that G-Dragon, one of the biggest stars in the Kpop and fashion industries, has two sisters; the details were extremely vague.
He feels awkward wanting to confirm her relation to the famous Kwon Jiyong. There is no indication the other members are connecting the dots, but Namjoon wants answers. He walked all the way out to this building in the cold clad in only pajamas and a fuzzy Ryan robe, gave away his ID to a young security guard he just met, and experienced second-hand embarrassment thanks to his fellow group members; Hoseok will be met with a lot of trouble if the trip proves to be pointless.
“So…um…Ms. Kwon, are you-”
The jingling of keys, followed by the unnerving creaking of the front door swinging open, interrupts the rapper mid-question.
“Ah, Jiyong-Hyung, you’re back,” Jin greets, rushing over to the door to assist the man in question with the many bags in his hands.
This time, nearly all of the Bangtan boys faint.
“Of course. What kind of brother would I be if I worked all day during my little sister’s birthday?”
“A horrible one,” (Y/n) pipes up. She sets down her mug of tea before running over to Jiyong to pull him into a tight embrace. “Thank you, Ji-Ji-Oppa~”
“Yah, stop calling me that! I’m not that stupid cartoon cat.”
“First of all, no! Secondly, he is not stupid. Jiji is very caring and cute. And thirdly, it’s not a cartoon!”
Sensing the awkward stares, the two siblings turn to face their audience of six stunned men. Jiyong is the first to step up and greet them, commenting on their music after introducing himself. Each BTS member stumbles over their words, finding it extremely difficult to speak to the man who is a member of their favorite group— their idol.
After shaking hands with BIGBANG’s leader, Taehyung grasps his wrist while staring at his hand, mouth gaping in shock. He mumbles something about not washing or using that hand ever again, but nobody pays any mind to his reaction.
“Wait a second… If you’re here to celebrate her birthday,” Hoseok comments, brows furrowed in confusion as he points an accusing finger at Jin, “then why did you bring a copy of our routine with you?”
“I was going to go over the choreography with Seokjinnie-Oppa a few times before dinner. He’s already got most of it down, so I’m mainly observing and pointing out any possible adjustments he needs to make. Since I wasn’t expecting my brother to be home so early, I haven’t gotten dinner started.”
“For the last time, I want to cook for you!” Though Jin sounds beyond irritated, his eyes show nothing but pure admiration for the woman before him. His friends are very familiar with Jin’s caring actions and are not surprised that this behavior is more prevalent when the man is around his girlfriend. “You should just relax for your birthday. I want to take care of you. You’re already helping me with the dance moves.”
“How about you both focus on the routine and let observe,” Jiyong suggests with a smirk. “I rarely get to see her dance anymore, so it’d be nice to watch and see if lil’ sis is as good as she claims to be these days.”
Bottom lip pursing into a pout, (Y/n) snaps back with a witty remark. The two bicker for quite some time until Jin ushers them both down the hall into a spare bedroom that had been refurbished into a dance studio; the rest of BTS follow their hyung, curious to witness Jin’s secret girlfriend’s dancing skills while also spending more time in the same room as G-Dragon himself.
Once (Y/n) refreshes her memory and cues the soundtrack, her expression changes drastically. In place of her usual bubbly personality, a stoicism that very few people can pull off, while maintaining a natural swagger, replaces her wide smile and bright, wide eyes. Her limbs move freely in the air, gliding in sync with the music without missing a beat, Jin watching and mimicking her movements at her side all the while.
The dance line watches silently, impressed with what is taking place before their very eyes; Hoseok now has a very good reason as to why his friend has suddenly been improving during their practice sessions.
Jungkook has his gaze trained on (Y/n) when a sudden thought pops into his mind. His head slowly turns until he spots Yoongi leaning against the wall; the eldest rapper’s demeanor is practically identical to the persona (Y/n) is currently maintaining. A mischievous smirk stretches across his lips, but the maknae chooses to remain silent, for now.
Once the routine is over, Jiyong is the first to applaud the couple, giving out exaggerated compliments to which his sister responds by slapping him. She taunts Jiyong, daring him to provide a better performance, but he argues back with an obvious fact: he is unfamiliar with the choreography, unlike her.
“Fine,” (Y/n) states with a smirk, “BIGBANG it is then.”
“What?”
“You said it yourself, Ji-Ji. You don’t know the routine. It would be unfair of me to challenge you with that song, so we’ll dance to one of your group’s songs instead. Might I suggest ‘Bang Bang Bang?’”
“But that requires a total of five people.” The idol fights back a smirk, desperate to hide the embarrassing fact that he has long since forgotten majority of the choreography for the song in question. He only remembers the basic moves, since the group never really stuck to the dance routine when performing on-stage; the energy in the building always left them running around across the stage and interacting with the fans. “I am just one person, (Y/n). I am physically unable to perform Youngbae, Seunghyun-hyung, Sengri, and Daesung’s parts at the same time.”
“You worry too much, Oppa~”
The smile on (Y/n)’s face leaves a dreading feeling within the pit of Jiyong’s stomach. Ever since they were young children, her lips would curl up into the same mischievous smile whenever her brain starts scheming. Some things never change…
“From what Seokjin has told me, the boys are huge fans of your music,” the young woman informs her sibling while gesturing to the idols in question. “I’m pretty sure that at least their dance line knows the choreography for all your songs.”
Upon hearing her statement, the dance line blushes and directs their gaze to the laminated floors, but a pair of colorful slippers enter their line of vision, prompting them to look back up to find (Y/n) standing before them. She gently grabs Jimin and Jungkook’s hands, pleading for them to convince the others to agree to participate in her challenge against Jiyong; Hoseok readily agrees without hesitation, but the two shyer dancers need more convincing before dancing in front of their sunbaenim and possibly humiliating themselves.
“I can dance instead of Jungkook,” Taehyung offers, his boxy smile stretching across his face. He continues to suggest taking Jungkoook’s place, since the vocalist is also very familiar with BIGBANG’s dance routines, but his main goal is to push the maknae into overcoming his nervousness and agreeing. And if Jungkook agrees to dance, Jimin will follow suit. “I was dancing to ‘Bang Bang Bang’ just last week, so it’s still very fresh in my memory. Jungkook only-”
“I’ll do it!” Jungkook’s sudden outburst startles Taehyung, but the 95-liner is quick to recompose. He shrugs his shoulders and backs down from the urge to whine about not being able to dance with G-Dragon, since a small part of him was hoping Jungkook would refuse. Either way, he is proud of Jungkook for stepping out of his comfort zone.
“Yes!! It’s settled then! Seokjinnie-Oppa, could you pull up the song for use please? Thank you~”
With their positions assigned and music blaring through the speakers, they begin to dance. Jimin quickly snatches up Taeyang’s position, leaving Jungkook to begrudgingly take T.O.P.’s position as Hoseok politely insists for (Y/n) to choose which member’s she would like to dance in place of; (Y/n) ends up choosing Daesung’s part.
From the sidelines on the far end of the room, Namjoon and the rest of his group members cheer on their peers, who execute the dance routine perfectly without a single mishap.
“Yeeeaaah,” Taehyung screams excitedly while jumping around. His deep voice rivals the loud music as he shouts along to the lyrics. “Bang, bang, bang, let the bass drum roll!!”
Once the song comes to an end, cheering and clapping echo throughout the room. The three members who took part in dancing alongside the siblings turn to bow, thanking them for the opportunity.
“No, no! There’s no need for that! I was the one who invited you to dance. If anything, I should be thanking you for agreeing!”
“You’re so talented, Noona,” the dance line remarks with bright smiles on their faces.
“Ahh, no, no,” she shakes her head in denial, shyly smiling as blood rushes up to her cheeks. “I’m not that good. I’m mostly self-taught.”
“What are you going on about?” Interrupting her rebuttal, Jiyong throws his arms over his sister’s shoulders, effectively restraining her in a tight embrace. He shoots her a warning look before addressing his guests with a proud smirk. “Don’t listen to this idiot. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. For your information, (Y/n) is one of YG Entertainment’s top secret choreographers. You boys have already seen several routines she’s choreographed without knowing it; ‘Bang Bang Bang’ and ‘Fantastic Baby’ are two of her co-creations.”
If it were physically possible for the human eye to suddenly transform into hearts, such would be happening right this minute. The Bangtan boys are starstruck at the information Jiyong has just revealed to them.
Questions practically fly out of their mouths as the seven boys direct their curiosity at the Kwon siblings. Several dance-related inquiries are directed at (Y/n), who gladly answers each question with a smile, while the rappers focus on learning music production tips from Jiyong. However, while his friends are distracted, Hoseok slips over to the corner of the room where his hyung is seated by a laptop and set of speakers.
“Hey, hyung,” Hoseok greets quietly, his feet shuffling around anxiously. When Jin looks up at his fellow group member, he finds that the dancer’s eyes are looking at anything but his own. “I’m sorry for being nosy and dragging everyone out to see what you were up to. It was none of our business, and following you out here was really rude.”
A long silence follows Hoseok’s apology, scaring the dancer. He was worried about Jin’s reaction while waking over to him, but now that he has expressed his regrets, a weight has been lifted off his chest.
“I would be lying if I were to say that I’m not disappointed in you,” Jin admits with a sigh, lifting his head to meet Hoseok’s gaze before turning to watch (Y/n) and Jiyong interact with the rest of BTS; the smiles on all their faces prompt a small smile to tug at his own lips, “but I’m glad you came to apologize. You can apologize to Jiyong-Hyung and (Y/n) later, but right now, you can help me with dinner as part of your punishment.”
“Taa-daaa~”
Jubilant cheers erupt in the dining room as Jin directs his blindfolded girlfriend into her seat at the head of the table. Once the fabric slips away from her face, the crowd of men in the apartment burst into song, wishing the young woman a happy birthday.
“Saeng-il chukahamnida! Saeng-il chukahamnida! Saranghaneun-”
Loud knocking interrupts the cheerful song, confusing nearly everybody in the room, but Jiyong dismisses the odd expressions as he stands to get the door. The individuals at the door, once again, nearly causes the Bangtan boys to faint. The rest of BIGBANG enters the apartment, stopping to hug (Y/n) as she darts over to the door to greet her friends.
“What are you guys doing here?! I thought you were all busy?”
“Jiyong-Hyung texted us an hour ago to invite us to your little party since we managed to finish early,” Daesung explains, “He also asked us to bring your cake. He was going to get it himself, but since we were closer, we picked it up on the way over.”
Noticing his stunned dongsaengs doing nothing but staring with their mouths open, Jin steps forward to welcome the new guests. His casualness only shocks the boys more.
“Oh yeah,” (Y/n) exclaims happily, dragging the eldest rapper by the sleeve into the dining room, the young woman starts to introduce him to the younger idols. “Seunghyun-Oppa, these are Seokjin’s friends. They’re from the group Bangtan Sonyeondan!”
“You could’ve at least waited for us,” Youngbae playfully teases, sauntering into the room soon after. “We all want to meet them.”
A/N: Sorry for the abrupt skip. I wasn't sure how to end this segment, and after staring at my laptop screen for several weeks, I just decided to end it here and continue with a time skip.
Without realizing how much time has passed since the beginning of the celebration, the idols are taken aback when they gaze drunkenly at the clock hanging on the wall. Soon, the room is filled with commotion as all the artists scramble to gather their belongings in preparation to return back to their respective residences.
“Where do you guys think you’re going?” With her hands on her hips, (Y/n) shakes her head disapprovingly at the bumbling mess of limbs before her. She waltzes over to the men and begins to pluck away their overcoats, returning the garments to the coat rack by the door. “None of you are driving or taking a taxi back tonight. Some of you are barely standing straight, and yes, I’m talking about you, Seunghyun. Now, sit down while I sort out everything.”
“I can take some of them home,” Seokjin offers. “I haven’t had any alcohol, and since I drove the SUV over, I can transport more people than if I were to take my other car.”
“I couldn’t possibly ask that of you…”
“Well, I offered,” he counters with a smirk, “so I don’t see where the issue is. I can make one trip to drop off everyone in BIGBANG, then come back for Bangtan.”
Sighing in defeat, (Y/n) accepts her boyfriend’s proposition. She returns to the coat rack and slowly assists her brother’s friends with their outerwear as Jin escorts them one-by-one into the awaiting vehicle in the parking structure.
“Thank you for the party, Jiyong-Oppa. Good night!”
“I love youuuuu~”
“Yes, yes, I love you too.”
Once all of BIGBANG has been transferred from her apartment to Jin’s car, (Y/n) jogs over to her office in search of a sticky note to jot down each member’s respective address. Illuminated by the moonlight pouring into the room through the open windows, the young woman decides to forgo turning on the lights during her hunt for the pad of paper.
Jin returns from the parking garage with all of BIGBANG buckled in and ready to return home only to find the living room empty as he steps back into the parking lot. A faint shuffling noise catches the man’s attention, leaving him to follow his ear while reluctantly entering deeper into the apartment. Despite having been dating (Y/n) for quite some time now, Jin remains hesitant when it comes to exploring his girlfriend’s apartment; he does not feel comfortable invading her privacy and feels as if he is overstepping unspoken boundaries by doing so.
“Where is it? I was using it just the other day…”
Frustrated whispers draw Jin’s attention to a room on his right, so he peeks his head through the threshold to watch as (Y/n) shove around her paperwork haphazardly. A mischievous plan pops into his head and, despite his better judgement, Jin quietly slips into the office to sneak up on his beloved. The darkness shrouds his presence perfectly, leaving the man to stealthily creep across the room without making a single sound.
“I could’ve sworn that I left it next to the laptop… Maybe I moved it back to the dra- Ahh!!”
Deft fingers dart out and make use of (Y/n)’s unawareness, tickling her sides without wavering as the young woman desperately squirms around. Several stacks of paper fall to the ground, followed by the loud thud of (Y/n) crashing into her office chair, but Jin persists with his attack.
“Seokjin, stop,” (Y/n) manages to gasp out between laughs. “It’s getting late and you still need to take everyone home.”
“Fine, but only because you’re right. I’ll continue this one day.” Jin backs away and allows the young woman to continue her search as he offers to turn on the lights. “You shouldn’t be looking around in the dark. You might get hurt on accident.”
Even though she insists on finding her sticky notes without any help, Jin flips on the light switch and immediately spots the item in question before (Y/n). He grabs the pad of paper with a smug smile, promptly sauntering over to his girlfriend in order to wave it before her eyes.
“See, I told,” he teases.
“Shut up.”
“Don’t be mean. After all, I was the one who managed to help you out.”
Tearing off the first sheet with a pout, (Y/n) thrusts the list into Jin’s hands and proceeds to push the man out of her office; her blushing cheeks become more apparent, thanks to a certain idol’s antics.
“Just go take them home already!”

Right after his parents announced to him that they’ve found a bride for him, the first thing Minseok did was cringe at the name they used, and then he pulled his laptop out, because we do live in a modern age, and he really wanted to see what you looked like.
He wasn’t a shallow person; he knew very well that it wasn’t just the appearance that mattered, but as soon as he opened your Facebook page, he froze, staring at your picture, and quietly thinking to himself, “yes. I definitely see myself spending the rest of my life with someone who looked like that.”
Then, however, you moved in with him after the wedding and proved to him that not only were you absolutely beautiful, but you also had an attitude that made him really want to kick things sometimes.
You barely even talked to him, and if you did, it was to tell him to stop doing something that annoyed you. Like breathing.
And Minseok would have been lying if he would have said that your attitude didn’t turn him on. He never acted upon the feelings you caused him, though. At least, not until you grew more accustomed to him, and didn’t look like you were going to shoot him in the head if someone handed you a gun.
Actually, even his own parents were surprised by your hatred for them, though Minseok thought it was normal. Your families have, after all, been rivals up until your marriage to him, so naturally, you needed some time to get used to this. Which is why, Minseok, without you knowing, always defended you to his parents, who claimed that maybe they made the wrong choice by having their heir marry you.
Somehow, even when you were glaring at him from across the room, he knew that this marriage was the right choice and he patiently waited until you realized it, too.
Suho
Junmyeon, being the gentleman that he was, always allowed you to do everything first: enter a room, sit at the table, fall in love…
He always treated you like his wife but it took him a little longer to realize that you weren’t just his wife because he had no choice but to marry you. You were also his wife because he had feelings for you.
You went on countless dates together, and the scenario was almost always the same: Junmyeon would hold the door open for you, he’d help you take your coat off, he’d help you read the menu if it was in a foreign language (honestly, up to this day, it was still a mystery to you how he was capable of speaking so many languages), and he always looked after you.
“Is your food cold?” he asked one time when he noticed that you weren’t eating. “Because I can send it back to the chef.”
“No, I’m just not hungry for some reason,” you replied, shrugging your shoulders.
Junmyeon panicked immediately. “Why? What’s wrong? Are you sick? Do you want me to take you to the hospital? Do you want to go home?”
A little taken aback by this avalanche of questions, you laughed awkwardly.
“No, I’m okay,” you said. “But your sudden freak-out mode is starting to freak me out, too.”
“Oh,” Junmyeon said, looking down and leaning back in his chair.
It took him a moment to understand why he became so concerned all of a sudden, but then once he did, the answer was clear as day: he was falling in love with you.
“What’s with the smile?” your voice woke him up from his dream world, and he raised his head to look at you.
“Huh? It’s nothing,” he said, waving his hand in an attempt to dismiss this topic for now because he still needed time for this new revelation to settle in his mind.
Lay
He met you a couple of times before the wedding, and it was obvious to him that you didn’t like him particularly much. You didn’t go out of your way to spite him, though, and that was enough for him to believe that maybe this arranged marriage would work… in the long run.
He hadn’t had time to develop any feelings for you during those couple of times that he saw you, and even if he wanted to, he probably would have tried to stop himself from crushing on you. He didn’t want to wear his heart on his sleeve when he knew there was a chance you’d never feel anything for him.
But then the wedding came. He was standing there, by the altar, feeling like this was the most stressful thing he’s ever done, even if his line of work included shooting people and putting his life on the line. In fact, he would have much rather been in a shoot-out with a rival Mafia family, than stand here, in front of everyone he knew, and wait until he married a girl he didn’t even know.
But then, you started to walk down the aisle, and his heart got caught in his throat.
Not understanding the sudden surge of emotions, he just watched you approach him. With shaky hands, he helped you take the veil off, and the way his heart squeezed when he finally saw your face let him know that he was exactly where he was supposed to be.
The realization that you were truly the one for him, calmed Yixing down enough to actually enjoy and savour every moment of this because God knows what kind of challenges awaited him after the wedding. The only good thing was that he knew he’d have you with him all through it.
Baekhyun
Baekhyun actually tried to stop himself from developing feelings for you.
When you first moved into his house, you were really closed off and said no to every single thing anyone from his family offered you. Even if it was work-related. So, naturally, Baekhyun, who thought that a relationship with no love was useless, was afraid that if he put his heart on the line for you, you’d grab it and break it.
But then you admitted that the reason why you weren’t participating in anything his family did was because you were afraid to fail, and Baekhyun felt his world light up again.
He promised you he’d train you and he kept his promise.
The two of you were in a shooting range his family had. You were holding a pistol in your hand while Baekhyun stood behind you and moved your hand so that you’d hit the target when you fired. And every time he guided you, your aim was perfect. But once he let go of you, you hit walls and instantly flinched, fearing that a bullet will ricochet and hit one of you.
“I told you to wear a bullet-proof vest,” you told Baekhyun with a sigh after you’ve missed your target for the fifth time in a row. “Now you make me worry about your health every time I miss.”
“Good!” Baekhyun replied with a teasing smile. “Maybe the fear of killing me will help your aim.”
“Ha ha,” you replied dryly. “I thought we came here so you could help me, not mock me.”
“I am helping you,” he said, walking behind you, so he could help you again. “But it seems to me like every time I tell you what to do, you’re not listening to me.”
Your face flushed. “I am listening. It’s just that… you’re distracting.”
“How am I distracting?” Baekhyun asked, clueless to your flustered state, because he was too focused on positioning the gun in your hand in the right way.
“You’re really… close,” you whispered the last word.
But Baekhyun heard you. And he immediately raised his eyes to meet yours, finally noticing your rosy cheeks and a shy smile.
And that’s exactly when he stopped holding himself back and just gave in to the inevitable. Trying not to fall in love was the most stupid thing he’s ever tried, which is probably why – as he watched you try to concentrate on his words and not on his close proximity – he realized that he had failed.
His heart was already yours.
Chen
Jongdae had a protective nature, so the need to always keep you safe came naturally to him. Needless to say, he wasn’t a big fan of the fact that you preferred walking instead of driving. This made it more difficult to protect you.
He told you numerous times to just ask his driver to take you somewhere, but you constantly refused, and eventually, this came back to bit you in the ass.
Jongdae was the one who found out that a man was stalking you. He didn’t know who this man was, but he didn’t need to; he was going to remove the threat before he hurt you. However, before that, he wanted to teach you a lesson.
Jongdae followed you to the restaurant that you had a meeting in, and carefully staked out by the entrance so he could spot your stalker when he inevitably showed up. While he waited, Jongdae sneaked some looks into the restaurant through the window, and clocked you, talking to a man twice your age and obviously struggling to understand what he was saying. Jongdae recognized the man as the head of a foreign Mafia family, and for some reason, he realized he didn’t like the fact that you were in the company of another man.
Then, he saw a masked man enter the restaurant, and his heart rate sped up immediately.
Not to cause any suspicion, for a moment, Jongdae just watched as the man circled around the hostess and chose a table next to yours. Just as the man sat down and got his hand into the pocket of his coat, Jongdae burst into the restaurant, firing his gun at the same time that the masked-man pulled his pistol out.
Jongdae hadn’t expected your stalker to actually try to kill you, but now that he thought of it, it really did seem kind of obvious. Why else would he follow you for a week?
But this thought didn’t make Jongdae feel better. If anything, it made him sick. Jongdae suddenly couldn’t believe he let this man stalk you for a whole week and he didn’t kill him just because he wanted to teach you a lesson that this was dangerous.
Well, your frightened eyes told him that you learned your lesson. And Jongdae definitely learned his. He was never going to risk your life like that again because whether his protective nature was natural, or the result of his ever-growing feelings for you, he was still going to take care of you in every way he knew how.
Chanyeol
He got tired of waiting until your dress was fixed, so he had left for the ball on his own. Obviously, he was curious to see what you looked like in a gown that took ages to make, but he was also really impatient.
The second he entered the ball in his father’s honor, girls started to circle him. This always tended to happen. Chanyeol was a nice person, and just like everyone else, he enjoyed the attention he received, so he didn’t shoo any of those girls away, choosing to enjoy their company instead.
But everything they said completely flew over his head, because in a few moments, the most beautiful girl he’s ever laid his eyes on walked through the door. It took Chanyeol a couple of moments to realize that this girl – who seemed to be illuminating the whole room and making heads turn as she walked – was his wife.
And she was angrily making her way towards him.
Not losing the amused expression, Chanyeol watched as you not-so-subtly told the girls around him to fuck off.
He swore he has never received a better compliment.
The most beautiful girl in the room, no competition, was jealous of the few girls – whose faces Chanyeol forgot as soon as he saw you – who were talking to him. He felt pride mix with amusement in his stomach, and he couldn’t resist the urge to smirk.
Watching you get possessive over him, made him feel like a winner. You were definitely the prize here, that was obvious to everyone. And you were his.
That was, Chanyeol realized, his biggest achievement.
D.O.
Kyungsoo had a feeling that just like nearly everyone else on this planet, you were afraid of him, too. And it really upset him because he would never even think about hurting you.
You were the most innocent thing he’s ever seen. Of course, you knew how to manipulate people and if you really tried, you could definitely kick someone’s ass, but you were so small and fragile in Kyungsoo’s eyes that he just wanted to keep you in a bulletproof room so you were always safe.
When Kyungsoo scared you one night and you literally pulled a gun on him, not realizing that it was him, he truly felt hurt.
It was like all of this time he only speculated that you were afraid of him, but then he turned around and you looked even more scared than before you knew it was him.
The pain he felt of having not yet proven to you that you’re the last person he’d ever lay a hand on, was indescribable and he felt suffocated by it. But along with it came the realization that he’s never had a person like that before. He had a reputation of hurting those who crossed him for a reason, and now, all of a sudden, he had you.
His wife. His reality. His love.
He took a deep breath and moved his hand to gently touch your cheek. “Please don’t be afraid of me.”
This was the first time he said those words to anyone and he meant it. Although he didn’t tell you he loved you outright, the sincerity in his voice let you know that his feelings for you ran deeper than you could have ever imagined.
Kai
Jongin was somewhat cautious around new people. Even if one of these people were his wife. A few months after the wedding, he thought he had already gotten used to you, but then he found out you had a hobby that brought all of his paranoia up.
You loved to cook.
And it took you two months to find the courage to offer to cook him dinner. Not wanting to hurt your feelings, he agreed, although he knew it would take him every single ounce of strength to take even the smallest bite.
Jongin watched every move you made when you started to cook and you were truly starting to feel a little uncomfortable but you tried to tell yourself that he just wanted to guess what you were cooking. In reality, Jongin intensely eyed the products you used, because he couldn’t let go of the fact that his father died when his second wife poisoned his meal.
The wife was dead – obviously – but so was his father. And ever since he found out what happened, he has never eaten anything other people have cooked, unless someone tasted his food first.
But there he was, almost two years after his father’s death, sitting at the dinner table, a plate of freshly-cooked food in front of him, and your expectant face on his right.
“Go on, try it,” you encouraged. “No need to look like I’m trying to poison you.”
You tried to lighten the mood with this innocent joke but Jongin took a deep breath and finally raised his fork to his mouth.
Right before Jongin swallowed the food, he realized why his father was never suspicious of his wife’s cooking. Why he never expected to be poisoned.
It was because he loved her.
And as Jongin waited for a moment after having swallowed the food, he realized that he was stepping over his long-time fear because he didn’t want to make you sad. He would have rather experienced the effect of poisoned food first-hand than disappoint you by not trying the food that you made at all.
And this made no sense to him, but he never believed that everything had to make sense, anyway. So, he rolled with it.
So what if you decided to poison him?
The smile on your face when you saw him take a bite would have been worth it.
Sehun
He liked you. It was simple as that. He never felt any hate towards you, he just simply liked you. Platonically.
He knew you had a hard time getting used to being married and living in his house, so he did everything he could to make it a little more bearable for you. On top of that, he felt kind of guilty about not having introduced you to his family’s tradition before the wedding.
Every single member of his family had to have the symbol of the family tattooed on their wrist. It was the husband who tattooed the wife, and it was the way it always was, but Sehun still felt like they should have made an exception for you. He managed to reach a compromise with his parents – instead of getting a tattoo right after your wedding, you’d get one once you finally adjusted to this new life.
However, the day you were supposed to get a tattoo came sooner than he expected.
Seeing you shake in fear made Sehun panic and he considered talking to his parents about this again. He was sure he could find a way to avoid ruining your delicate skin with black ink.
“You’re still part of the family, with or without the tattoo,” he told you, even though you were already sitting in the chair, desperately trying to calm yourself down.
Taking a deep breath, you gave him an encouraging look. “I know. But I want you to do this.”
Nodding, Sehun grabbed the needle with a lot more confidence.
As he watched the symbol of his family come to life on your wrist, he couldn’t help but think about the sacrifice you were making. You were basically confirming that you’ll stay a part of his family for the rest of your life, forgetting every other relationship that ever tied you to your own family.
Sehun knew you must have realized that this symbol would mark you as the property of his family, and he had so much admiration for you for doing this.
Then, once he finished the tattoo and looked at it, thoughts about future clouded his head. You and him celebrating your first anniversary. You and him moving out of the family house to live together. You and him having children and actually feeling like a family. You and him together… for the rest of your lives.
And he raised his head from your tattoo to give you a smile.
He didn’t like you anymore. He loved you.

Bajan Newscap 10/9/2017
Good Morning #realdreamchasers. Here is your daily news cap for Monday, 9th October, 2017. There is a lot to read and digest so take your time. Remember you can read full articles via Barbados Today (BT), or by purchasing Daily Nation Newspaper (DN).
MOTTLEY ACCUSES GOV’T OF PLAYING POLITICAL GAMES WITH PUBLIC SERVANTS – Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley on Sunday accused the Freundel Stuart administration of playing “political football” with the island’s public servants. Speaking at a mass canvas in St Peter, Mottley said Stuart was purposely withholding the pay increase demanded by the island’s trade unions – National Union of Public Workers, Barbados Workers Union, the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union and the Barbados Union of Teachers. “This Government has got to stop playing political football with the public servants of Barbados,” she said. “If the public servants deserve the pay increase, as we believe that they do, give it to them. And if you feel you can’t give them a full pay increase because you need more negotiations, at the very least give them a cost of living allowance, a coping subsidy.” Following the announcement of the pending increase of the National Social Responsibility Levy, the trade unions called for an immediate pay increase to sustain the blow that the tax would have on the island’s economy. However, their demands were subsequently rejected by the Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler during the August National Social Partnership meeting that also included the Barbados Private Sector. Mottley said the Democratic Labour Party is holding back on their decision until the eve of the general election. “This notion that you can get around to it when you feel like getting around to it or when you are good and ready is unacceptable and if you are doing it because you feel you can treat them as a final score, that you can use this as the thing to give you three points … in the political run up to the election, by giving them a pay increase just on the eve of the election, I say to you stop it!,” Mottley said. “. . . give them the pay increase that they deserve and is long overdue.” (BT)
NOT GOOD ENOUGH FROM PM – Opposition Leader Mia Mottley has blasted Prime Minister Freundel Stuart for his comments relating to the almost $50 million raked in from the increased National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL). Last Tuesday, Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler reported to the House of Assembly that the NSRL, increased from two per cent to ten per cent on July 1, had contributed “just short of $50 million” to Government’s coffers in a quarter and was projected to inject $200 million over a year. However, in the wake of that revelation, Stuart is reported to have said he did not have all the financial data from that quarter and would speak to the takings when he had received such information. “But if ever there was a . . . statement by a Prime Minister to tell people the equivalent of ‘like it or lump it’, this is the statement to which we are referring,” Mottley said yesterday evening during a Barbados Labour Party Rubbing Shoulders event in Maynards, St Peter. (DN)
TAX GRAB – Government likes tax so much that a staggering 95 per cent of its revenue is via that medium. When the composition of direct and indirect taxes was examined, said the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the contribution non-tax revenue made to the public finances was five per cent. The IDB’s Caribbean Department made that observation while examining Barbados’ “rising fiscal deficits” in a new report on the region’s financial challenges. “The contribution of tax revenue to total revenue reached around 95 per cent in [fiscal year] 2016/17. Direct taxes contributed 37 per cent of total tax revenue, while indirect taxes represented 58 per cent, with non-tax revenue contributing the remainder,” the IDB said. (DN)
BCCI COMMISSIONS UWI TO STUDY IMPACT OF NSRL ON CONSUMERS –The Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has commissioned the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, to carry out a study on the impact Government’s increased National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL) is having on consumers. BCCI President Eddy Abed who made the announcement Sunday on Down To Brass Tacks on Starcom Network Inc., described the NSRL as “a regressive tax”. “There is no question that the cost of living has increased and the Chamber has just commissioned UWI to do a study on exactly how much of an increase there is and how the average consumer is spending their money,” said Abed, who is also the owner of the popular fabric store Abed’s. “The reality is we’ve heard that there are some people who will not pay the light bill this month to pay it next month; they are putting off payment of their regular services and utilities just so that they can make the budget stretch from month to month.” Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler revealed in Parliament last week that the NSRL had raked in $50 million in the three months since it was raised effective July 1, on target with his own expectations when he announced in the May 30 Financial Statement and Budgetary Proposals that the levy would rise. But Abed said the NSRL has been particularly unpopular because above all else it has made the cost of living that much more higher in Barbados as compared to any other of its Caribbean neighbours. (BT)
CAR CHOICE – Second hand cars have seemingly become the first choice option for shoppers. While car sales at the island’s major dealerships have sharply declined since the 400 per cent increase of the National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL) came into effect on July 1, some used car lots have reported that sales have not been affected. Operations manager of West ’N’ Motors Inc., Rosalie Browne, told the DAILY NATION that business had not fallen off. She explained that while the move by Government to raise the NSRL from two to ten per cent would have resulted in the prices of brand new cars being increased by thousands of dollars, it would not have had a similar effect on used cars. (DN)
TEACHER PUSH BACK WOULD SURPRISE JONES – Minister of Education Ronald Jones says he will be surprised if there is a push-back by teachers’ unions to the creation of a Teaching Service Commission (TSC). He told the DAILY NATION on Saturday that it was the Ministry of Education which brought the Cabinet paper some months ago to facilitate the move. “The teaching service has over 3 200 teachers and therefore you need a dedicated commission. It has always been needed, but it was never done . . . . The work of the Public Service Commission dealing with nearly everybody else in the Public Service, it is really too much and in the past we had too many delays, issues of appointments and discipline. Hopefully this would take away a lot of the struggle that we have had in the past to do those things that were necessary.” Jones added: “I know the unions in the past, when I was heavily engaged in [them], were pushing over time for the appointment of a Teaching Service Commission . . . . In fact, a lot of the work done by the Barbados Union of Teachers and Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union is what formed the basis of moving forward on this agenda, so that would be really a massive surprise to me if there was a push-back,” he said. (DN)
BWU LAUNCHES DIVISION FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS – Some domestic workers in Barbados are afraid of becoming unionised. Champion for the local group, Larry Mayers, and assistant general secretary/tutor with the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU), Wilma Clement, made the disclosure at the launch of the Domestic Workers Division of the union at Solidarity House on Saturday evening. Mayers, a popular radio personality who is the product of three generations of domestic workers, said the workers were afraid of losing their jobs. He said they also had to bring the employers on board. Clement acknowledged the fear workers were grappling with, but charged the small group already on board with speaking to others about the Domestic Workers Division and bringing them into the fold. Moore said she was “excited” about the launch, even though it was “regrettable” it took 76 years for the BWU to get around to formalising an arm for one of the most vulnerable groups in society. The launch coincided with the observance of World Day For Decent Work. She said a number of benefits were on the cards for that special set of workers when Convention 189, which dealt with domestic workers, was ratified. Among them were vacation leave and pension. (DN)
WILLIAMS CONFIDENT HE’LL WIN THE CITY FOR THE DLP – Democratic Labour Party (DLP) candidate for The City, Henderson Williams is confident of his ability to claim the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) stronghold for his party in the next general election. “We are well assured that we are on course to take The City,” said a confident Williams, flanked his party members and supporters this afternoon during a mass canvass in the constituency. Accompanying the businessman on the campaign trail were the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Ronald Jones; representative for St Michael West Central James Paul; and the DLP General Secretary George Pilgrim. Williams was introduced to the constituency in April when it was announced that Patrick Todd would pass on the baton to him. As a longstanding member of the community, Williams said constituents have been disappointed with the lack of representation exhibited by current parliamentary representative Lt Jeffery Bostic and are looking for solutions to the social issues affecting them. He said that he his team’s focus will be primarily on urban renewal. Meantime, Minister Jones strongly endorsed Williams as the next representative for The City. Jones, pointing out that the constituency has been neglected, said Williams will be leading the way towards its revival. (BT)
FLOOD WATCH - While many areas in Barbados experienced plenty sunshine and some searing heat yesterday, there were others “blessed” with an abundance of rain; so much that it flooded some districts. The forecast was for skies to be generally cloudy with moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms over western, north-western and central districts, with a likelihood of isolated flooding. True to the reports, many in some sections of St James in particular, had to battle with waters that threatened their homes and vehicles. (DN)
NO SEA EGG FISHING SEASON THIS YEAR – The ban on sea eggs harvesting will remain in force, and there will be no sea egg fishing season this year. This is according to a statement issued by Chief Fisheries Officer, Stephen Willoughby. He said that the results of the annual sea egg survey for 2017 indicate that the sea egg stock around the island is very low and cannot support the opening of a fishing season of any reasonable duration this year. All fishermen, divers and the general public are asked to desist from harvesting or purchasing sea eggs to allow the stock to recover to levels that would support fishing in the future. All persons are reminded that the penalty for selling, purchasing or being in possession of sea eggs or roe during the sea egg fishing close season is, on summary conviction, a fine of up to $50,000, and/or up to two years’ imprisonment. (BT)
KING LOSES FINAL – The king of swing didn’t have it on the day. Barbados’ best tennis player Darian King fell short of a fourth ATP Challenger title, having lost yesterday’s final in straight sets to rising Brit Cameron Norrie at the Stockton Challenger tournament in California. Playing in gusty conditions on stadium court, the 25-year-old baseliner never seemed to have adjusted to the swirling winds in a disheartening 6-1, 6-3 defeat to the red hot left-hander in an hour and nine minutes. It was an uncharacteristically uneven performance from King, who shockingly ran around his backhand too often to give southpaw Norrie easy looks at passing shots down the line. (DN)
UWI CUT EMPIRE’S LEAD TO 3 POINTS – Front-runners ICBL Empire held on for a draw against Sagicor UWI on a rain shortened final day of their sixth-round Barbados Cricket Association Elite Division match at the 3Ws Oval yesterday, but the title chasers made significant inroads in the points table. Heavy rain and a wet outfield caused the start of play to be delayed until 3:30 p.m. Needing to survive a minimum of 30 overs to deny the home team victory, Empire started shakily, slumping to 16 for four, but Roston Chase led a recovery with an unbeaten 19 off 85 balls in 82 minutes. Andre Roach helped him add 33 for the fifth wicket, while Justin Greaves (11 not out) rallied for 40 minutes in a defiant unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 22 that steered the visitors to safety. Empire ended on 71 for five. (DN)
EAST POINT GIFT - It’s looking like the island will get a restored East Point Lighthouse for its 51st birthday. Finance director of Hinds Transport, Dave Hinds, told the DAILY NATION that the new completion date was now looking like the end of November. “We had hoped to have it done by the end of September,” he admitted. “But I would say, realistically, we are looking at end of November.” Hinds Transport is behind the restoration of the 1875, 97-foot-high lighthouse, at its own expense, as a gift to the island. The company had been hoping to have it finished to coincide with its 60th anniversary celebrations. (DN)
KI’ANN STANDS OUT – Singer Ki’ann Browne’s powerful voice filled the auditorium of The Lester Vaughan School on Friday night, sending the unequivocal message to the judges and audience that she was going for NIFCA gold. Singing Better and Mercy Said No at the first of six National Independence Festival of Creative Arts Performing Arts Semi-finals, hers was one of the most memorable performances at the event that bordered on being ho-hum and forgettable. There were a few others who did well, like Sandra Squires, who entered in the theatre/speech category. She could land a place in the finals with her so relatable piece titled Last-Minute Shopping. Taking a look at back-to-school shopping, she painted a vivid picture of the scenes that play out every August and early September at several City stores. Harried parents whose money must stretch to cover everything, dragging their children to several stores for supplies, and tired, hungry children who would rather be home than trying on too tight shoes.
