started knitting my first baby blanket today! sophie helped.

this is also my first cable project, and instead of finding a pre-existing cable blanket pattern, I decided to take a simple beginner blanket and just chuck a cable in there myself. honestly though I’m pretty happy with how its turning out!

#i did knit a sampler in some scrap yarn while i waited for this to be delivered #n practised the pattern i’d come up with #n then when this yarn arrived i even knit a swatch to take gauge and to try the changes I decided on from my sampler #i knit for 7.5 hours today and its still. so small. i forgot how long blankets take #but im keen to see it grow. its gonna be cute #my yarn adventures #post #knitting #the original pattern was malt by tin can knits #but i am skipping the garter square n i added five stitches to each border garter strip n made a six stitch cable in the middle #oh n im slipping the first stitch of every row purlwise #its cute so far #i need to add all this to ravelry so i dont forget #sophie #alive and furry(ish)
