Hi! Happy 2025 :D
You've done an amazing job this past year, Iridis! AphidClan is one of the only clangens I can follow without getting lost or bored within a few updates (including one of my own I tried to start lol); your designs are instantly recognizable and eye-catching, the darker lore is balanced out with enough cute, light moments that it never feels overwhelming or overcomplicated, you express such a wide range of emotions and dynamics so well! Plus the diversity in your character base and your care towards representing a variety of identities, just makes me so happy to see. Everything about this comic is so uniquely creative, it's honestly incredibly impressive.
Obviously nothing against other clangens– just that yours has something special I've been unable to find elsewhere :]
Thank you for everything you've done this year, and I hope the next goes well for you 💞
AWWWW man thank you so much <33 This is so sweet and honestly relieving to hear lol, I often feel like I don’t really know what I’m doing with Aphidclan. Like it’s a constant hazy state of cluelessness that I’ve just grown used to. Im not very aware of like… what my work reads as to others? Man I dunno if you guys even know what’s going on lmao. So it’s really nice to hear an outside perspective and realize that’s probably just a me thing. And that it’s impressive??? Damn, man, thank you lol
I’ve never quite done anything like Aphidclan before. It started at a time in my life when I was…technically my gender exploration journey started months earlier than this, but it was kinda started at the cusp of my own gender identity exploration,,explosion. The first thing I wanted to explore was being xenogender (other folk go from “cisgender —> maybe I’m non-binary or trans…” in their journey like normal people but nah man. before anything else occurred to me I went from “im cisgender” to “maybe I’m a neon rainbow insect with neopronouns actually :)” lmao) and that coincided really well with the rise of the clangen trend, so I figured I’d use some brand new OCs to explore gender identity in a…safe way? In a safe little pocket where it was all,,,nonconsequential and only tangential to my own identity. And I ended up exploring transgender and non-binary identities as well very frequently, which was mostly helped by the game giving me cats with assigned genders/sexes and me squinting at them and going “…nah. that’s a unicorncore trans man if I ever seen one” and reversing it, and then transing half the cast lmao.
I was not transgender going into this comic. I am now coming out of our first year with Aphidclan as a transmasc nonbinary man <3
I never intended it to be a thing for representation points exactly? I was certainly surprised by the lack of xenogender and more complicated/unusual LGBTQ gender identities depicted in all media ever! I still don’t really understand why something like neopronouns aren’t more present? They’re the coolest shit ever. Like- we’ve broken down gender norms and gender roles so much that now gender is not just “feminine” and “masculine,” it’s anything and everything you could ever want it to be. It’s ultimate freedom. It’s not just what it means to be “man” or “woman,” it’s “but what if I was more than that? What if I felt like a bug? Or a rainbow? Or a cloud? Or a connection to nature and the ocean and the stars? What if I felt like I was part of the universe? Or a music genre, or a concept, or a candy bar, an animal, a fairy, a slice of fruit!” You could be anything you’ve ever dreamed of being and more.
And once you get used to the funky grammar of neopronouns, it’s not that polarizingly different from other identities at all, honestly. And plus, it’s really fkin fun lol.
Aphidclan’s helped me explore a lot throughout this year. There were often times where I was struggling with my own femininity as a trans man and I remembered Firebeetle and the support I’ve received for his character, and using “well, if it’s okay for firebeetle to wear dresses and flowers and feminine things, then it’s okay for me to do that too, and it doesn’t invalidate my identity at all” and it really helped. 2024 was a great year for me creatively and exploration-wise, and I’ll certainly never be the same. Thank you guys for all your support, it means a lot <3
#and this came as a surprise to me but I’ve received like 10x more support for the xenogenders than hate comments#I’ve received ONE singular negative comment about the neopronouns. in a whole year of doing this regularly#i deleted it immediately without responding and blocked the guy so you won’t find it anywhere#but that just is wonderful to me the sheer amount of support and kinship other people have expressed#there’s a whole community for this stuff anywhere you look and I’ve carved my own little pocket for it and that’s really sweet#anyway#I’m happy with 2024s Aphidclan year#and excited for more Aphidclan in 2025! happy new year!!#aphidasks#clangen#wc clangen#warriors#xenogender

and they were roommates ~ klaus hargreeves;the umbrella academy
word count: 1540
request?: yes!
“Can you write a Klaus Hargeeves imagine where the reader is Vanya's roommate and Klaus has a crush on her and they end up kissing at the end?”
description: in which he has a crush on his sister’s roommate, so he spends basically all of his time at their apartment
pairing: klaus hargreeves x female!reader
warnings: swearing
masterlist
Vanya jumped as she opened the door, finding her brother stood there with his hand up, ready to knock.
“Klaus?” she questioned. “What are you doing here?”
“Oh, uh, you know...I just um....I wanted to...” Klaus stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse.
Before he could really figure one out, Vanya’s roommate, (Y/N) came out from her room and smiled at him. “Oh hey Klaus!”
Vanya gave her brother a knowing look. “Ah, now it makes sense.”
Klaus awkwardly smiled at his sister before turning to (Y/N). She was an old friend of Vanya’s, really her only friend. When Vanya got old enough to move out of the Hargreeves manor, she moved out with (Y/N) in order to afford the apartment she wanted.
Klaus didn’t think he had feelings for (Y/N) at first. He just saw her as Vanya’s friend that always came around the house. When Vanya moved out, Klaus felt like he was missing something. It wasn’t until he went to Vanya and (Y/N)’s apartment and saw (Y/N) that he realized how much he liked seeing her over to the Hargreeves manor, or how much he liked seeing her in general. That was when he realized that she was more than just his sister’s friend.
He tried not to make it so obvious that he wanted to see (Y/N). He’d always have an excuse for visiting Vanya, and tried to make sure his visits were few and far between so that the ladies wouldn’t get suspicious. But, the closer he got to (Y/N), the more he’d just pop over without an excuse prepared just to see her. It didn’t take long for Vanya to figure out what was going on, and he often wondered if (Y/N) knew, too.
“I’m just about to go to practice,” Vanya said, picking up her violin case.
“Oh,” Klaus said, slightly disappointed. He had never been in their apartment with just (Y/N) before, and wasn’t sure if she’d even want him to be there with just the two of them. “I can come back - ”
“No way!” (Y/N) said. “You can come hang out with me, unless you were specifically looking for Vanya.”
The siblings shared a look before Klaus said, “No! I’d love to hang out with you.”
(Y/N) smiled brightly and motioned for him to enter the apartment. As she made her way towards the kitchen, Vanya stopped Klaus.
“Don’t be a pussy,” she told him. “Just tell (Y/N) how you feel.”
“Shh!” Klaus snapped. “It’s not that easy! She’s your roommate, what if she doesn’t like me back and that fucks up your whole living dynamic?”
“Then I’ll deal with it. It’s worth a try, Klaus.”
Before he could say anything else, Vanya grabbed her keys and walked out the door, closing it behind her. Klaus’ heart was racing. He wondered if Vanya knew something he didn’t. She had never encouraged him to talk to (Y/N) about his feelings like this before. Had (Y/N) said something?
“You want anything to drink?” (Y/N) called from the kitchen, reminding Klaus that she was waiting for him.
“I think I’m good, thanks,” he responded.
“Really?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. “Not even...?”
She pulled a small bottle of alcohol from the fridge and presented it to Klaus. He couldn’t help the slight smile that came on his face. “You know me too well.”
“You never say no to a little soda with a splash of alcohol,” (Y/N) said as she began to pour some of the alcohol into two glasses. “Or, more accurately, at least half a glass.”
Klaus laughed as she passed him a glass after mixing the soda and alcohol together. He cringed at first, the alcohol much stronger than the soda, but it didn’t take him long to get used to it.
“So, what brings you by today?” (Y/N) asked him.
Shit, I didn’t think of a good excuse yet, Klaus thought to himself.
“I was just in the neighborhood, thought I’d stop by,” he responded with a shrug.
(Y/N) nodded, although the look on her face said that she didn’t exactly believe him. Before she could say anything else, her phone chimed, alerting that she had received a text message. (Y/N) briefly glanced at the phone before rolling her eyes and taking a giant mouthful of her drink.
“What was that reaction?” Klaus chuckled.
“Some dude who won’t leave me alone,” she responded with a heavy sigh. “I went on this blind date that was set up by a friend a few nights ago and it just didn’t go well, now the dude won’t leave me alone.”
Knowing that (Y/N) had gone on a date made Klaus feel a little jealous. He wondered if Vanya had known, and if she knew it had went bad. Was this why Vanya made the comment about finally telling (Y/N) how Klaus felt?
“Did he think it went well?” Klaus asked. He was interested to know how this awful date went.
“Of course he did,” (Y/N) responded, sounding flustered. “He took me to this diner, which was nice but it wasn’t the fancy restaurant he played it up to be, so I arrived dressed basically for the fanciest restaurant in town, looking completely overdressed. He told me to order whatever I wanted, but then made a comment about picking a burger and fries, which was the only thing on the menu besides like fish or chicken, because he said that it’s not ‘date appropriate food’. The night consisted mostly of talking about him because he wouldn’t shut up for five minutes to let me speak, then when he walked me to my car he went for the kiss, tried to slip me tongue, and asked if he could take me home!”
“Fuck,” Klaus said, cringing at the story. “And he’s still trying to text you after all of that?”
“When he asked me if he could take me home, I told him right then and there that I didn’t want to go on another date with him period. I said I didn’t feel comfortable with him and that I don’t think we were a match. He keeps messaging me to tell me how wrong I am and that I should give him a second chance and that we’d make a fantastic couple and blah, blah, blah.”
“Why don’t you block his number?”
“I don’t know how.”
Klaus extended his hand to (Y/N). “May I?”
Almost immediately, she unlocked her phone and passed it to him. She stood next to him, so close that her head was almost resting on his shoulder, and watched as he went into the guy’s contact and blocked the number, deleting the messages that he had already sent in the process.
“If you know he has social media, block him there too. If the friend that set you up tries to reach out to you about him, block her too,” he told her as he gave her her phone back.
(Y/N) sighed with relief and hugged Klaus tightly. He tried not to see too excited by the embrace.
“You’re a life saver,” she told him.
“It’s nothing. I just don’t think you should have to put up with guys like that. That’s not fair to you, you deserve so much more than that.”
(Y/N) looked up at him. He couldn’t help but get lost in her eyes. They were so big and beautiful, they were probably his favorite thing about her.
“You really think so?” she asked.
“Of course,” he responded with a slight chuckle. “(Y/N), you’re an amazing woman. You shouldn’t settle for some douchebag who can’t handle rejection. You deserve someone who is going to treat you like the queen that you are, someone who’s gonna take you to nice places and on amazing dates, who’ll shower you with the love and affection that you deserve. Not just treat you like an easy fuck at the end of a horrible date.”
(Y/N) let Klaus’ words sink in for a moment. Tears were starting to form in her eyes. No one had ever said something so nice and sincere to her before.
Before she could stop herself, (Y/N) took Klaus’ face in her hands and pulled him to her. She pressed her lips against his, taking Klaus by surprise. At first he wasn’t quite sure what to do. Of course, he had been wanting this for so long, but now that it was happening he was shocked.
Just as his body was finally catching up with his mind, which was screaming at him to kiss her back, (Y/N) pulled away. “Shit, I’m sorry. That was inappropriate, I am so sorry about that.”
“Don’t be sorry,” Klaus responded. “I...I wouldn’t mind doing that again.”
(Y/N) looked up at him in shock. “Really?’
Klaus smiled and nodded. “But, I’d prefer to do it after I’ve taken you on a nice date, if you’d let me that is.”
(Y/N)’s wide smile matched Klaus’ as she nodded her head excitedly. “Yeah, yeah I’d love that!”

Based on a True Story
Summary: there's this boy who makes you super uncomfy and doesnt take a hit, but you're to sweet to tell him to back off. Katsuki Bakugou, the more blunt end of the friendship, is happy to tell him off and free you from that sorry bastard.
Pairing: Katsuki Bakugou x Fem!Reader
Warnings: possible tw, a lot of swearing and some pretty colorful insults, there are guys that are really fucking creepy, based on the actual events of February 7th, 2021 at around 10:30 pm
A/N: this was very very rushed, I just wanted to write myself some comfort real quick and go to bed last night and I didn't have time to properly edit! I'm really proud of some of the banter lmao, please enjoy and never be afraid to punt a ballsack! I'll add tags later🙄🙄🙄
A message popped up on your screen and your once neutral expression went sour. Slamming the face of your phone onto your pillow, you groaned angrily into your bedspread, catching the attention of a certain ash blonde sitting in your comfy desk chair a few feet away. Katsuki Bakugou, one of your best friends, gave a questioning glance but refused to meet his ember gaze
“What’s your deal?” He asked, not letting his genuine curiosity as to why there was such a pained look on your face, show.
You opened your mouth but paused.
Katsuki already knew about this boy and scolded you every time he saw his name pop up in your notifications, telling you to ‘fucking block him already’ for the umpteenth time. It wasn’t like you had feelings for the guy anymore, you were just too nice and polite to cut him off completely and tell him to go fuck himself.
The ash-blonde had already volunteered to do it for you, but you always said no because you knew he’d just find another way to contact you.
“It’s that piss baby again isn’t it?”
“Yeah…”
“Wow, did you just agree with one of my insults?”
“Suki, I’m about to take you up on your offer to tell him to go fuck himself.”
He snickered, “Now you’re talking sense. What the hell is that pansy bitching about now?”
You sigh and roll over on your back and Katsuki moves to sit on the edge of your bed.
“I cut him off for a while, I really did! It felt so good to be free of him, but then he got my number again and started bothering me a few days ago. I saw him at school yesterday and told him I wasn’t interested in dating at all and he was like whatever so I honestly thought he could keep it in his pants and we could just be friends but nooo! He calls me a simp for anime guys, I tell him to stop being a hypocrite because he used to simp for me and he was like “I still do. You’re the only one” yeah like I’m stupid enough to actually believe that!”
You paused to catch your breath, but before you could start speaking again Katsuki interjected, “Well, you are stupid…”
You socked him in the bicep and he hunched over laughing. You looked so fucking adorable when you got royally pissed at him.
“Oh go to hell.” You snapped, crossing your arms and continuing, “Anyway, this guy used to simp for my goddamn sister! Not only do I reject being a replacement for her, but if she rejected his sorry ass, that means he’s a huge piece of shit because she’s super picky.”
“I might’ve mentioned that once or twice-”
You punched him again to shut him up. “Plus he’s super creepy and gross and it always feels like he’s undressing me with his eyes and whenever he’s around I want to dive into a pool full of only chlorine and drink it. I’m just trying to coexist and just be nice to him but apparently, a female looking in his general direction means that they want dicked down by his micropenis. He’s so fucking dense too. Why can’t he see that I’m not interested, especially after I EXPLICITLY told him that?!”
By that point, you were on the verge of frustrated tears, bottom lip trembling just slightly with bottled up emotion.
Katsuki could see it.
You felt trapped in something you never signed up for and you’d do anything to get out. All of this frustration had been stored inside of you for so long and it just kept mounting and multiplying until you burst into tears.
“Goddammit, come here dumbass,” He growled, gathering you into a warm embrace, “You can’t keep all this bs inside okay?”
He let you sob into his shoulder, one calloused hand supporting the base of your neck and the other crossed firmly over your back so you’d feel safe and secure; away from the world full of horrible people and into a small one of just your best friend’s warmth and the sweet sweet scent of caramel.
“Why don’t you listen to me? You’re just too fucking nice to every shitty dickhead that sees you as an easy, fuckable target. Something really fucking bad is gonna happen to you if you don’t shape up and learn how to punt a dude’s excuse for a ballsack and tell him what you really think.”
You raised your head from the solace of his shoulder to look at him with big, reproachful doe eyes and whimpered, “I tried that!”
“Have you tried punting their fucking balls first?”
“No… that would hurt.”
“That’s the point.”
“But if I did it without reason I could get suspended or charged with aggravated assault!”
It was Katsuki’s turn to sigh.
“That’s not the point dumbass, the point is that you need to tell these bastards off when they start getting creepy. You know what? Why don’t you just fucking ignore their sorry asses in the first place!”
You sniffle and drag a hand over your cheek to dry your tears, then resume your position with your face in the crook of your best friend’s neck.
“I feel bad for them.”
“Well stop. I’m gonna call him now alright? After that, we’ll block his stupid ass on every fucking app, you hear me?”
You nod and hug him tighter as he leans forward to grab your phone and opens it with your passcode, swiftly finding his name in your contact list and pressing the call icon, then he tapped the speaker button and waited.
The call was picked up almost immediately and a voice on the other line said, “Hey cutie! I was just about to call and ask to see if you wanted to come over on-”
“She’s not here.” Katsuki cut him off with a dry snarl, “And last time I checked she wasn’t interested enough in your sorry ass for you to be calling her ‘cutie.’”
You could almost hear his lip curl in utter disgust.
“Who the fuck are you?” The voice asked, dropping its sickeningly sweet tone to something more appropriate in light of the previous insult.
“I’m her fucking boyfriend you dickwad-” You popped up from your haven in surprise, mouth open to sputter in protest but he put a finger to your lips and smirked, “who the fuck are you?”
“No fucking way that whore has a boyfriend-”
“Ex-fucking-scuse me? Shut your mouth, you mother fucking pussy, insult her one more time and I’ll fuck you up so bad you won’t be recognizable by the time you get to the hospital.” He snapped back, “She’s crying right now because you’re too dense to realize she doesn’t want any business with some horse-faced piss baby like you. Take the hint right fucking now you useless bastard so you don’t make the mistake of coming near her again because I. Will. Kill. You. Delete this number because she’s too sweet to block you herself, but I will.”
“Fuck man, I was just tryna get laid. She’s the one who started rubbing herself all over me-”
“I said delete this number. Damn, you are a dense piece of shit aren’t you?”
“Hey, I-”
Katsuki pressed ‘end call’ and blocked his contact, moving from Instagram to Snapchat, to any social app you had, and blocked him left and right until he was satisfied.
“Feel better?” He asked softly, tossing your phone aside and peeling you off.
You carded a shaky hand through your hair and wiped your eyes, giving him a watery smile and a nod.
“Why did you tell him that we were in a relationship?” You asked, voice on the edge of a taunt.
“To make him mad.”
“I mean, it worked, but is that the only reason?” You giggled.
“The hell are you insinuating?”
“Do you… possibly by chance… have feelings for me?”
You batted your eyes at him and he retched, but the smirk was still present on his handsome features.
“What’s it to you?”
You squirm a bit, but something pops into your head so you can stall a bit longer.
“I mean, you’re not THAT ugly-”
He responded with a simple, harsh flick to the forehead to make you whine and try to whack him, but he easily intercepted your fist and pushed you on your back, caging you in nothing short of a horizontal kabedon.
It was your turn to smirk, “Yenno ‘Suki, I could very easily… oh what was your phrasing? ‘Punt your fucking balls’ in this position…”
“Just shut up and tell me what the hell you want.” Katsuki snapped.
“You’re cute when you’re flustered.” You prod.
“You look like a pissed hamster when you’re mad.” He shot back.
“You smell like a fucking candy store after training.”
“You’re the dictionary definition of a dumbass.”
“You have a better hourglass figure than Yaomomo.”
“You're quickly becoming an extra.”
“Date me.”
“Fine.”
“Wait really?”
“It’s the only way I can kiss you, protect you, and keep you all to myself.” He shrugged, leaning in dangerously close, “You don’t fucking understand how hard it is to watch you prancing around with one failed abortion after another and watching you cry because they leave since you don’t want the one thing they’re after.”
“You’ve always been there for me ‘Suki… I guess I just took you for granted, and I’m really sorry.” You met his soft vermillion gaze with a meaningful and apologetic one and reached out to squeeze his hand.
“‘S okay. You’re mine now, right?”
You nod, smiling.
“So it doesn’t matter how dense you are anymore.” He smirked, laying down on your bed and dragging you down with him so you were tucked comfortably under his chin.
You grabbed the remote and flicked on the tv, preparing to turn on an anime you had in mind.
“What romance garbage are you inflicting on me this time?” Your new boyfriend groaned, burying his face in your hair.
“One that’s super sappy and romantic and sad just to piss you off.” You pouted, clicking on each letter to form the desired word in the search bar.
“Have fun with that.” Katsuki snarked, beginning to move away, but you stopped him by deftly pressing your lips to his.
You slowly pulled away, blushing furiously, but happy to feel strong forearms snaking around your front and crossing over your stomach.
“I certainly will.” You respond.

Mistake, Maybe (Chapter One Draft)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What’s up guys, today we’re visiting Woodhils University to surprise a girl name Aubrey and her friend, who say they’re my biggest fans!” David sayid as he yelled into the camera.
He then turns his camera off and holds it in his left hand.
“David, how big of a fan are we exactly talking?” Jason inquires while chewing on green mint-flavored gum.
“I have to show you guys the video she sent me on twitter, I think she’s literarily my biggest fan. Check it out!” He said as he rummages through the slender small pocket of his black jean.
“You too, Jeff! You’re not going to believe this!” He yelled excitedly.
Jeff trudged over to the duo reluctantly, not really interested in the video David was about to show them or the visiting the university at all. David then pulled out his phone and opened the Twitter app, immediately going to his DMs. He scrolled through the messages for a second, before he landed on the video.
“Are you guys ready for this, it’s literally insane.” He said with pure excitement in his voice.
“David, come on just play it already,” Jason responded.
“Okay, okay, give me a sec.” He said as he turned his phone horizontally so that all three of them could see the video clearly. David then clicked on the video and let it play.
“My name is Aubrey and uh-sorry I’m a little nervous and excited uh.” She said as she began to fidget on her wooden chair. “Oh, my God David! Please, please, please come visit my school! I’m literally your biggest fan.” She abruptly blurted out quickly and loudly.
“She really is!” A female voice yelled in the background before quickly coming into the view of the camera.
“She’s literally obsessed with you, David. It’s bad. It’s so bad that we even have a “David Jar” in our dorm room. Anytime she mentions your name- mind you which is like every other sentence she has to put a dol- “She said before her explanation was interrupted by a slim hand muffling her speech.
“Sophie, shut up! Don’t say all of that shit. He’ll think I’m crazy! I’m trying to get him to visit us not run away, stupid!” Audrey yelled in slight frustration.
“Heh, sorry David uh, sometimes Sophie just says too much. Ha, you guys know how it is.” She said slightly nervous again as muffled noises began to come out from behind Audrey's hand.
“But anyway, David if you would come to visit me-us at Woodhill University dorm room 274 I would literally die, well no- but yes, okay gotta go bye!” She said yelled slightly frazzled and waved bye to the camera, along with a still muffled Sophie.
As the screen faded black, David turned around to face Jason and Jeff. “Can you guys believe that shit?” David asked still feeling ecstatic.
“David, I then she might be a little- off.” Jason trailed off and stopped chewing his gum.
“Ugh, Jason. Jeff please, please say you’re siding with me on this.” He said looking towards Jeff.
“Hell no, David. I’m siding with Jason on this one. You go there and you’re dead.” He said not sounding entertained with this idea.
“Well, if the two and the rest of the guys go, then I won’t be alone, no chance. Besides this will make some sick vlog footage! Jason told me it wouldn’t!” He said trying to convince them.
“It would but not if our lives at risk, David,” Jason said sounding slightly worried. “It’ll be fine. We’ll call up everyone and we’ll be all set. Nothing’s going to happen, Jason.”
Jason let out a deep sigh, “Alight, David. Let’s do this.
“Yes!” David said sounding thrilled. “What about you Jeff?” David said looking in his diffraction once again.
“I’m gonna pass. I don’t want to get murdered or risk going to prison again.” He said as he started to walk away.
“Wait, Jeff! If you don’t go how will you ever get that girlfriend, you said you wanted.” David said knowing that he had reeled Jeff back into his plan.
Jeff stopped abruptly in his steps, regretting a few months ago when he told the whole squad that he had been looking to find a serious relationship because now it was backfiring on him.
“Come on Jeff, at least one of those girls had to be your type!” Jason teased as he continued to chew the gum in his mouth.
Jeff smirks small as he turns around quickly, “Really, Jason? I pegged them more of your type don’t you like them young.” Jeff said as he was alluding to his tumultuous relationship with notorious Youtuber Trisha Paytas. They were twelve years apart.
“What?!” Jason yelled trying to act as if he didn’t know what Jeff was referring too. “That’s what you’re going to do old man? Act like you have no clue what or WHO I’m referring too.” He said as he chuckled.
“Of course, I do! I just don’t want to think about the past at all.” Jason said as he tried to make up an excuse.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell the truth Jase, is it because you don’t want Tris- “He said before he was cut off by a series of objections coming from Jason.
“No, no, no! Don’t say that name! I don’t want any more drama!” He pleaded. Jason, then took his eyes off of Jeff and glanced to his right and saw that David was filming their whole conversation.
“No, David! Do not put that in! Delete it!” He screamed as he waved his hands in front of the camera trying to block it from recording any further.
David just giggled as he blocked all of Jason’s attempts to shield his camera. “Are you kidding that clip was too good not to put in! Think of the views Jason, the views!” He said jokingly.
“David, no. I’m going through this all over again with her, I’m begging you not to put that clip in.” Jason said feeling exhausted.
David stopped moving and lowered his camera as he pondered for a bit. A few moments later, he began to speak, “How about this?” He said with a smirked.
Jason, looked into David’s brown eyes, “Really, you’re betting on my life right now.” He said knowing too well that, that statement followed by that smirk never meant a good thing. Jason knew from the past that meant that David was thinking, plotting really, and it sucked to be on the other end.
Jason let out a slow sigh, “What is it?” He spoke in a defeated manner.
“Nothing, much. It’s nothing much just two small things.” He said.
Jason gave him a look of disbelief knowing that when David meant small, he really meant large and at times very extreme.
Jeff moved closer to the duo as he began to take interest in something regarding the vlog for the first time today.
“The first part includes Zane- “
“Oh God, I’m screwed!” Jason shouted out.
Jeff’s left eyebrow raised as he took more interest in the situation unfolding before him.
David laughed as he continued to speak, “So Zane has to come out of this party without hurting himself, breaking anything, or hurting someone else.” He said.
“I’m doomed,” Jason said weakly.
Jeff chuckled as Jason began to panic waiting for David to announce the second part to his “wicked” plan.
“The second part involves Jeff,” David said laughing harder as he observed Jeff’s facial expression.
“Me? Why the hell am I involved in this!?” He questioned loudly.
“I’m glad you asked Jeff, because if you don’t find a genuine connection with a girl tonight then I guess Jason will be on Drama alert this week.
“Yeah, and how are you going to be able to tell if I made a genuine connection or not? You gonna stalk me like your little super fan?” He said in a brazen tone.
“Ha, no. I’ll ask you some questions, see if they add up and if they don’t well… It’s Killer Keemstar for Jason.” He said as he tried to imitate Keemstar.
“Wow, David. You’re crazier than I thought. You sure you aren’t part of the Slovakian mob or something?” Jeff asked.
“Nope, just doing it for some content.” He said casually.
“Jeff please tell me you got this. Please.” Jason begged again. “What am I saying, of course, you do. Look at you, the real problem is Zane. I’ve got to call him!”
“Don’t worry Jason, I’ve got your back.” He said but for the first time in years, he wasn’t confident about the words that came out of his mouth. After all, it had been so long since he’s made a genuine connection with anyone, let alone a girl. He’s a thirty-year-old man, with a lonely apartment, a dog, and a group of wilds friends, could he really get real and open with someone at this point in his life? Let alone in one night?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What’s up guys, so the squad and I are right outside of Aubrey’s door and we’re about to knock.” He whispered slightly as he filmed the members of the vlog quad, which insisted on Zane, Heath, Mariah, Jason, Erin, Carly, Toddy, Jason, Jonah, and Jeff. Then turned the camera back on the door room, 247.
David smiled brightly as he began to knock on the door. The door instantly and swung open, slamming into the bedroom wall. The squad was greeted with the sounds of loud squeals and jumping up and down coming to a brown skin girl with dark brown long hair and a slim thick body and a bright smile from an olive-colored girl with long black hair, dark brown eyes, and freckles.
“You must be Aubrey, right?’ David said with his well-known smile. “Yes. Yes! That’s me!” She said as she switched from jumping up and down to bouncing on the heels of her feet.
“Can I- Can I hug you, David?” She asked.
“Of course!” He yelled as he pulled her in for a hug. The pair hugged for a few moments before David pulled away.
“And you must me Sophie?” He asked.
“It’s Sophia actually everyone usually calls me Sophie or Soph. I really don’t care which one you call me by I’ll still respond.” She said chucking.
“I think you guys should come in before Audrey explodes. Plus, it’s Taco and Tequila Tuesdays and you don’t want to be outside for that.” She warned.
“Mhm, that sounds so good right now!” Zane yelled from the back of the group.
“Zane!” Jason grumbled under his voice as he elbowed Zane on the left side of his ribcage.
“Right, right. I forgot.” He responded back as he retreated slightly from the conversation.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeff’s P.O.V
David was the first one to walk in the dorm room. Followed by everyone else. I was hesitant to walk in. I can’t really say I feel comfortable being on a college campus filled with people- kids about a decade my senior. And David really expects me to find a genuine connection with one of them. He’s clearly lost his mind.
As I walked into the cramped and small room, I noticed how differently each side was decorated. On the right was a very bright, pink, and girly side, it had to be Aubrey’s side of the room. It was pretty much like any other college dorm you’d see. While the other side was decorated in an alternative way. It was darker and had stacks of books, CDs and records, and band posters. I wonder who’s side it was. Not, Sophia’s. It doesn’t seem to match her personality.
I continued to analyze the room as everyone gathered around Aubrey’s bed. I then spotted a small shuffle out of the side of my left eye. I looked closer and saw that it was a girl. She was stunning. She had the most beautiful smooth brown skin and pillow-soft curls. I continued to stare in her direction as I observed her reading a book.
I guess I stared too long because she looked up in my direction before quickly turning away, huddling down in her book further. I was taken back slightly; I had never had that reaction before from someone. I guess she was just shy. I didn’t really know but I wanted too.
I kept looking in her direction a few moments longer, hoping she would look up at me again. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen as I was knocked out of my trance by Toddy when he elbowed me in my right ribcage.
“Dude, you alright? You zoned out for a while there.” He questioned. “Yeah…. I’m fine.” I said back, still not fully paying attention to him.
“Well then come on, Audrey’s about to answer some questions and prove that she’s David’s number one fan!” He yelled at the top of his lungs. Before he could move, he glances back at the girl in the corner and saw her twitch slightly and move closer into the corner as she turned her back towards him.
With that, I finally joined the rest of my friends. I didn’t sit. I told everyone that I felt better standing but in reality, I was uncomfortable being in this room. Not only was it a room for college kids but something was very off about the vibes in this room.
I left my train of thought to try and pay attention to what was going on before me. I tried my hardest to be entertaining and put on the “Jeff character” but I was so distracted by the girl in the corner. Every second I spent in this room I just wanted to turn my head and peek over at her even if it was for just a second.
“Okay, okay! Next question, “What sport did members of the vlog squad play that eventually lead to a kiss between Heath and me? I heard David ask.
“No way she’s going to get this one!” I heard Heath scream.
“Baby, it’s a wrap you ain’t getting this one!” Zane yelled in agreement.
“If she gets this one, I’m done I’m just- I can’t!” Toddy yelled right beside me.
I then looked up at Aubrey and saw a look of determination on her face followed a smirk and small glimmer of some something I couldn’t put my finger on, in her eyes.
“Beer Bottle Frisbee.” She said with all the confidence in her voice. Her answer was met with extremely loud cheers. As everyone was distracted, I turned my head quickly in the direction the mysterious girl was sitting and saw her getting up. I immediately turned my head back around, this time looking down in hopes of seeing where she was off too.
To my surprise, she ended up leaving without anyone noticing. While everyone was still cheering, I took this as an opportunity to go speak to her. I waited a few seconds before I slipped out of the room quietly and followed the direction, I saw her go in.
As I walked down the hallway, I saw piles of garbage, toilet paper streamers, and drunk guys getting loud in the hallway. This gave me even more of an incentive to find this girl. She doesn’t seem like the type to be safe in this environment.
I followed her for what seemed like an hour. I made sure to keep my distance. I didn’t want her to know that I was following her. I guess I could throw that thought right out the window because this is when she completely stopped walking.
“P-please stop following me.” She said with her back still turned to me.
I just continued to stare at her for a second before I spoke, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I just wanted to talk to you.” I said, trying to find the right words to say to her. For some reason, my confidence with this girl was swaying.
“Why?” She mumbled lowly.
I walked closer to her until I was a few inches away from her.
“I can’t really come up with an excuse right now. There really shouldn’t be an excuse to talk to a pretty girl, so I won’t say one. I’ll tell the truth. There’s- there’s something about you something different that drew me into you and I just wanted to get to know you.” I said as I smiled.
“I’m Jeff,” I said as I held my hand out and continued to smile.
She turned around fully after I said my name. I could’ve sworn I stopped breathing for a second as I took in her full appearance. I felt wrong in away because I knew she was too young, but I pushed those thoughts aside because this opportunity was too perfect to miss.
I continued to hold out my hand and smile but her facial expression never changed, and she never made and moves to shake my hand. I looked at trying to predict what she would do. She then began to shuffle on her feet and moved her arms to wrap around her body.
“I know.” She whispered lowly. I wasn’t quite sure how to react to her reactions. She seemed so scared and guarded.
“Uh, so you watch the vlogs then?” I asked trying to then of something to get relive some of the awkwardness.
“Um, yeah sometimes. Mostly when I have free time form classes and studying.” She said with a little more pep as she looked up at me.
I smiled small. She finally said something more than one word.
“Not like your roommate, right?” I said as I chuckled lightly. Her face faltered at the mention of her roommate.
“No.” She said quietly again.
“So, I didn’t get your name,” I said.
“It’s ah Kamora. Kamora Maxwell.” She said facing me again with those big brown eyes. Even her name matched her.
“Everyone usually goes crazy for David and the vlog squad and you left? Not your type of YouTubers?” I asked trying to get her to speak more and refraining from personal or sensitive topics.
“Um, I’m just not much of a social person. And I do like you- um you guys but I like to see you guys as normal individuals. I don’t want to separate the human qualities from you guys just because you well know.” She said.
She’s attractive and smart, the full package.
“Believe it or not, I’m not social either,” I said being completely honest.
She looked at me intrigued.
“Yeah from the vlogs and my channel I look like this super social guy, but I hate it. I like to be independent and do my own thing. Don’t get me wrong I like my group of friends but sometimes I just need to retreat to my cave and recharge.” I said just blurting out how I felt. For some reason, I felt completely safe confiding in her.
She nodded her head in agreeance with me.
“So where are you from? You kind of have an accent but I can’t pinpoint it.” I said.
“I’m from New York City, actually.” She said.
“You’re lying!” I shouted getting a bit excited. She shook her no.
“What part?” I asked, knowing it wasn’t Staten Island.
“The Bronx.” She responded back.
“The Bronx, huh? I know a couple people up that way. They’re cool guys. I outta visit them when I head back home again.” I said reminiscing slightly.
“Since you watch the vlogs then you probably know that I’m from Staten Island- “
“The Forgotten Island,” We said in unison.
I chuckled at that and smiled at her.
We stood in silence for a few moments before I began to speak again. “It’s funny how we both ended up moving from one side of the country to the other. It’s crazy to think about how bad my life was going. The decisions and the people I were hanging out with put me right in prison. But, I’m so glad I was given another chance at life and I’m finally able to live a decent life.” I said as I opened up to her.
“For some reason, I feel like you weren’t like me. You needed up her for some reason and I-“I said before she interrupted me.
“I- I’m sorry. I-I can’t do this!” She yelled as she took a few tentative steps back before bolting past me.
I stood there in shock for a few moments. What did she mean that she “couldn’t do this”? Did she mean socializing in general or just talking to me? Was it something I said? I didn’t really know what to say or do at this moment all I knew was I had to find her and I had to make things okay.

—————————
You summoned all the strength you had inside you and punched your brother as hard as you could.
Charlie doubled over and yelled in pain, and you felt no pity for the almost-stranger standing in front of you. His curly hair fell over his face and over his eyes that now stared up at you.
“That may have been deserved,” he admitted, a hint of humor in his voice as he glanced apprehensively at the duel happening just feet away from you.
You said nothing. You had forgotten all about running at the sight of your brother. Questions whizzed throughout your mind, but you didn’t make a sound. Just stared at him.
“Y/n,” Charlie started, getting to his feet. “Grindelwald desires your presence in his castle. I’ve told him of your expertise in dark objects and—“
“Dammit, Charlie!” You shouted suddenly, cutting him off. He stared at you blankly, confused. “I left that stuff behind! That isn’t me anymore. Is that where you’ve been all this time? Skulking about with that man? You were dead!”
Charlie’s face fell, and you thought you saw Mustache fall to the ground in the distance, reminding you of the dire situation at hand. You quickly glanced around for Theseus too, and found him dueling two of Grindelwald’s followers you didn’t recognize. Worry once again crept up your body and you almost forgot your brother in front of you.
Charlie’s face held crazed, unblinking anger now. “Grindelwald’s interests are for the greater good! You couldn’t possibly understand why I did what I did. He believes wizards should rise above those mindless muggles around us! Do you not want that? Do you not want them to suffer for what they’ve done to us? And what do you mean, you left that life behind? I promised him to bring you back! You know as well as I that one cannot just break a promise to Grindelwald, y/n.” You didn’t recognize the slightly deranged man in front of you. His words too smooth for your brother. These words were not his own, and as he spoke them, the coldness in his eyes unsettled you. No, this was no longer your brother.
You felt your own anger rise as you spoke again. “You shouldn’t have made that promise, then! And I don’t want those things. I’m not a psychopath. Charlie, I mourned your death! For months! And you’ve turned into this... I don’t even know who you are. You’re mad, Charlie. Can’t you see he’s brainwashing you?” You paused, but he said nothing, staring dead into your eyes with nothing even resembling love. You held in your angry outbursts, just barely managing to calmly say, “Why?”
“Because I believe in a real cause, y/n,” said charlie, knowing he hit a nerve. Before you could come up with a retort, he grabbed your arm and attempted to apparate with you to who-knows-where.
You ripped your arm from his grasp, pointing your wand at him, silently begging him not to, but he immediately whipped out his own wand. The two of you remained still for a long time, eyes locked, wands pointed, a conversation silently being exchanged.
“You know I can’t leave without you, y/n,” he said finally, cocking his head.
“And you know I can’t leave with you, Charlie. I won’t.” Both of you were silently begging there other to give in. To end his fight. There would be no going back after tonight.
You shook your head ever so slightly, and he moved so fast you barely had time to block his curse. He unceasingly fired flash after flash of spells and curses, and you barely had time to block them.
“Think about what you’re doing!” You yelled to him desperately over the sounds of duels and spells flying around you.
He only responded by sending spells even faster, over and over again. You sunk to one knee, focusing all of your energy on deflecting his spells. When did he get so good at dueling?
“Come on, y/n. I’m not here to hurt you,” he cooed, giving you chills from just his voice. The voice that was barely recognizable from your Charlie. You scoffed.
“It sure doesn’t seem like that, Chuck,” you retorted, causing him to falter just slightly. It was the nickname you and your mother used to call him. Before all of this.
You seized your chance and began firing spells back at him, with more vigor than you knew you had in you. Throwing out everything you could think of. He barely kept up as you threw spells and curses back at him. He stumbled on the ice below you, still keeping his wand up, looking you unblinkingly in the eye.
“Don’t do this, y/n,” he pleaded, one last request before you both knew he would lose this battle.
“You don’t have to go back to him, Charlie. You can come with us!”
He shook his head as if it pained him, and you thought you might’ve seen a tear roll down his face, his hand faltering just a little bit. No, your brother chose his side. And you chose yours. You seized your chance and fired one last spell to disarm him and knock him out.
You took one last look at your brother, for what may very well be the last time, and turned away.
You scanned the crowd once again to the place you knew Theseus last stood. You spotted him and ran over to him, hastily throwing spells at them while grabbing his arm to apparate. His hand found yours, but neither of you really noticed it.
You finally finished the two wizards before you, but just before you finally apparated away, you remembered Mustache and pulled Theseus around the maze of people and to the unconscious form of your friend. When you reached him, you spared no time seizing his arm and apparating back to Theseus’s apartment.
————————
Gasps for air filled the dark apartment as you fumbled for the lights. Mustache’s unconscious form lay on the living room floor, where Theseus now knelt next to him, trying to identify the curse used. It wouldn’t be one he knew, and you both knew it. Wordlessly, you crouched down to examine him, and you groaned as you saw the signs of a nasty curse dark wizards often used to take their opponents down.
“Theseus, there’s a vial in my room, in the nightstand. Get it and then a glass of water,” you commanded in a low voice, and he immediately followed instructions. Moments later, he placed the vital in your hand, and you poured it into Mustache’s mouth.
Moments passed, and you hoped you weren’t too late.
“What’s wr—“ Theseus began, but was interrupted by coughing and sputtering below you.
“Mustache!” You exclaimed. “Thank God, I thought you died!”
You still managed to get a smile at your bluntness from both men in the room, though Mustache’s much weaker.
“You know, I have a name, y/n,” he said weakly, a smile playing at his lips. “‘the bloody ‘ell did you give me, by the way? It’s disgusting.”
You laughed and glanced up at Theseus. “Er– it’s better you don’t know, seeing as it may not be... completely legal... But you’re alive and that’s what’s important,” you hastily added, a smirk playing at your lips at Theseus’s stern gaze.
Mustache gagged dramatically in response, which turned into a fit of coughing. Theseus helped you get him onto the couch, where you made him drink water, and he soon fell fast asleep.
You moved to the kitchen, and Theseus spoke up, a laugh forming in his voice.
“You know his name is John, right?”
“...yes.”
An amused chuckle left his lips. “No,” he said, mocking your tone.
You laughed, and you passed into a long quiet, before he finally spoke up, all traces of laughing gone.
“Y/n, about tonight...” he said carefully, searching your face for any reaction, only to find anger. “I saw you with Charlie.”
You shook your head. “What about it? He’s a bloody prick” you said flatly, his words flowing through your head once again.
Theseus knew he was on thin ice, but pressed further, soft concern flooding his features as he gazed at you.
“You saw your undead brother tonight, that’s enough to upset anyone, y/n/n.” You said nothing. “Come on, I know you. What’s going on in that head of yours?”
You sighed, defeated, sliding into the nearest chair, Theseus following suit. Theseus always knew how to get you to talk. Maybe that interrogation all those months ago was meant to be.
“He asked me to go with him. To Grindelwald,” you told him quietly, not knowing why you felt so ashamed. You locked eyes. “I couldn’t. I’ve chosen my side, just like him. I’m just– I can’t believe he’s on the other one.” Your normal sarcasm and wit was nowhere to be found tonight, your normal youthful presence gone. You seemed to have aged years in a matter of minutes.
He nodded seriously, pressing on his lips. “I’m glad you’re still here, y/n. Truly.”
You smiled gratefully as he put a reassuring hand over yours.
“He’s always been my big brother, you know?” You said quietly. “I was always the problem child, not him. Don’t laugh.” He held his hands up in surrender, doing his best not to smile at the thought of a young y/n. “...And now, he told me tonight he’s been with Grindelwald this whole time. The whole time. He’s one of them, Thes. He’s another one of those brainwashed lunatics that blindly accept everything that man says... Thes, I’m scared for him. There’s no good outcome... and I didn’t go with him tonight, but he promised Grindelwald he would take me to him. What’s going to happen to him?” You asked hopelessly, your head falling to your hands. Your words were all over the place, but Theseus understood. He knew.
He also noticed you abandoned your usual nickname, Salamander, and instead used a softer, sweeter one. He didn’t know why, but it made him happy.
You felt Theseus’s arms wrap around you, and you leaned into his chest, staring at nothing. He let out a quiet, but reassuring hush, rocking you slightly as he did. You felt oddly at home, just sitting there.
“It’s not your fault,” he whispered so softly you actually wanted to cry. “That was his decision. Remember that. You’ve done everything right, y/n.” After a moment, he added, “Well, except maybe your previous career choice,” earning a teary laugh from you. Looks like you were crying... that was a surprise to both of you, but you welcomed them.
This interaction stirred something in Theseus. He didn’t quite know what, but he suddenly was filled with affection for this person he was supposed to be protecting. This cheeky, sarcastic, lovely person in his arms had completely entranced him, through and through, and he knew it.
He would have held you forever if he could have, but reality finally seemed to set in, and you realized you needed to go back to the ministry. The attack was not just on aurors tonight, but the whole ministry, and you needed to help as much as you could.
But one thing was certain as you left Theseus’s apartment for the ministry that night, and that was this: nothing remained the same, not even from just hours before.

Enemies.
Group: GOT7 Member: Yugyeom Word Count: 1569 Genre: Fluff
Family pride goes a long way.
That's why when your father told you that you were not supposed to associate yourself with Kim Yugyeom, the son of the owner of your fathers rival company, you didn't hesitate to obey. Some of your friends thought it mad, but they didn't complain. Especially Alice and Chantel who were elated because it meant they had a slightly higher chance of claiming him for themselves, or so they said.
Yugyeom was that guy. The guy that half the girls in the school swooned over, yourself included. You wouldn't deny it. Him being the son of your fathers rival doesn't change the fact that he's good looking.
“He's walking this way! Oh my god oh my god. Do I look okay?” Chantel squealed.
“You? Forget you. Do I look okay?” Alice replied. The two of them fiddled with their hair, trying to look ‘perfect’.
“Hey Yugyeom.” They chimed together as he reached your group.
“Hi girls.” He said simply, shooting them a beautiful smile. His eyes moved past them to you, his expression immediately changing to that of disgust and disinterest as he eyed you up and down. You flipped him off not even bothering to say anything and causing him to scowl.
He opened his mouth as if to shoot an insult but instead was cut off by Alice. “You look really good today, Yugyeom! Where did you get that shirt? It really suits you.”
You watched the three converse as you stood there in silence. This was how it usually went, the two of you either acted as though the other didn't exist, or exchanged a few bad looks and insults. Your eyes followed him down the hall after his conversation with your friends had ended, jealousy burning in the pit of your stomach as you watched him talk to and acknowledge all the other girls trying to throw themselves at him. You wouldn't deny it. You felt just as strongly about him as the others did, you just couldn't let anyone else know about it. For the sake of family pride.
“He totally fell for me!”
“Uh uh girl. Did you see the way he was eyeing me up?”
“Eyeing you up? Girl he winked at me.”
“You? Hell naw! He winked at me!”
“Maybe he winked at me.” You half joked, but it went unnoticed because the girls were too busy arguing between themselves. You rolled your eyes and started off towards your next class. This had happened often enough for you to know that they wouldn't pay attention to whatever you did or said.
Your father was overbearing, it was a fact all those close to you knew. They all knew why you'd walk them to the school gate at the end of the day, say your goodbyes and walk straight back into the building. Father couldn't let his precious daughter travel home on her own; you had to wait there until he came to pick you up two and a half hours after school had ended. Half six was the earliest he could manage to get there after work, and even then he sometimes drove you back to his office so you could waste even more hours of the day doing nothing whilst he finished working. It wasn't all that bad though, it meant you always got all your school work out of the way on weekdays and always had free weekends.
Following your normal summer-time routine, you sat at one of the benches outside to do your homework for the day. You often found yourself people-watching as well. It was quite interesting to watch people, reading them to find out random information about, and sometimes overhearing gossip.
After school clubs only lasted an hour. You sat watching the various groups of people walk out together, taking this as your cue to pack up your things and head back inside. You walked to one of the private study rooms, they were always empty at this time of the day and so this was where you spent the remaining hour and a half when waiting for your father.
“Where do you think you’re going?” A voice asked and you looked ahead to see Yugyeom standing blocking your way with his arms folded.
You rolled your eyes. “None of your business, so move out the way.”
“And if I don't want to?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
“I'll tell my dad you're harassing me?” You suggested.
“Why was that a question? Are you asking my permission? To tell your dad that I'm harassing you? Because the answer is no.”
“It wasn't a question. If you don't move that's what I'll tell him.”
“You sure about that? It really didn't sound like you were confident in that statement.”
“100%”
“Hmmm, well I don't think that accusation would go far anyway.”
“Oh yeah? And why would that be?”
“I have a lot of evidence to prove otherwise.”
You laughed. “Evidence? Like what?”
The corner of his lips pulled up in a smirk. “Did you forget?” He asked, pulling his phone out of his pocket and waving it in front of you.”Photos, babe.”
“I told you to delete them.”
“I don't want to delete them.”
“Delete them, Yugyeom.” You said sternly.
“But I don't want to.”
“Whatever.” You sighed, pushing past him and walking into one of the study rooms, you heard him follow close behind you.
“Hey, don't be like that.” He said as he sat down opposite you, but you didn't respond. “Y/N~... Hey!”
“What? Don't be like what? Pissed off with you because you won't do what I want you to?”
Yugyeom’s face fell a little as he looked across at you. “I like them and I want to keep them, we're cute together. Come on, you can't tell me that anyone else would ever think about deleting pictures of them and their girlfriend or boyfriend. Why should I?”
“Because they aren't in the same situation as us. What about your-”
“He'll have to find out some day babe, your dad too.” He started searching through his phone and then held it up to you to show you the picture on his screen. “Look. Look at this. You want me to delete it and forget about it just because my dad might find it?” You looked at the picture of the two of you on your first anniversary: you were smiling happily at the camera whilst he was preoccupied by your smile, staring lovingly at you. It was a great picture, and you wouldn't want to lose it.
“I just don't want them to separate us.” You whispered. It was a difficult situation for the both of you, a relationship that shouldn't exist, a relationship that would be frowned upon by both families. The two of you knew that from the beginning but you couldn't help it, the heart wants what it wants. Your boyfriend got up from his seat and walked around the table, tugging lightly on your arm so that you would stand up and step into his embrace, which you did.
“They won't. I won't let them.” He replied as he tightened his grip on you. “Besides, the sooner they know, the quicker we can stop pretending to be enemies, and then you won't get jealous when I talk to everyone but you.”
“Hey, I don't get jealous!” You exclaimed, although it was muffled because you were talking directly into his chest.
He chuckled. “You can't lie to me, babe. I see you get jealous all the time.”
“Yeah, well… so what?”
“Nothing, it's just cute.”
“You just said I wouldn't get jealous anymore, but now you're saying I'm cute when I'm jealous?”
“You're cute all the time, and that includes when you're jealous. But we wouldn't have to pretend anymore.”
“Sometimes it's fun though.”
“Only when it's just the two of us and we can laugh and then cuddle right after.”
“Now that I think about it, yeah. It is only fun when it's just the two of us.”
“Because we don't have to keep up the act, there's no one there that we have to fool and so it's just silly fun.”
You didn't reply but you hummed in agreement.
“I love you.” You spoke eventually, as the two of you still stood there embraced in each other's arms.
“I love you too.” He said in your ear. “Now come, I'll teach you the new dance routine I'm learning.”
Considering your father made you hang around school for more than two hours after it ended, you'd think he'd allow you to be able to partake in after school clubs. But no, none of the clubs met his academic requirements and so you weren't allowed attend any. It used to bother you, but when you started dating Yugyeom he decided that he would teach you everything he learned in the dance lessons he attended everyday after school so that you would feel included. You were grateful for that.
You were grateful for Yugyeom in general. Since the start of your relationship he had hung around after school with you everyday without fail. It was for that reason that you didn't mind it so much. What was once an annoyance and inconvenience was now the best part of your day, all thanks to him.
Family pride goes a long way.
But love goes further.

I've had so many hostages before and you're by far THE WORST HOSTAGE EVER. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE UNCOMFORTABLE BC YOU'RE A HOSTAGE
Warnings: Lots’o cursing, innuendo, some (fairly minor?) violence/threats of violence
Author: TJ
Word Count: 1.7k
A/N: This fill gave me more trouble than I thought it would OTL thanks Mno for helping me plot (even though I still derailed from my plan HAH) But writing struggles aside, I hope this came out at least somewhat entertaining? ^^;;
~~
“We’retrying, okay, we’re trying. But we didn’t - power didn’t completely - enoughtime - delete the - hasn’t - it - ch - tttssssss-”
Jaebum grimaced, dropping hiswalkie back into his pocket, fully muffling the static-y voices. Not that itmattered much, given he wasn’t able to understand the words being spoken eitherway. The reception was absolutely terrible within these thick, concrete walls.
“Mmmmmph! Mmph mph mphhhh! MMPH!”
Jaebum’s frown deepened into ascowl as he turned his attention to the gagged man on the other side of theroom, though the cap pulled low on his face probably didn’t allow hisdispleasure to be fully communicated to his captive.
The other man was young, strong, and stockily built, having put up quite the resistance in their tussle not toolong ago. If his security guard uniform was anything to go by, he’d probablybeen trained to deal with such situations.
Jaebum’s greater height gave himthe ultimate advantage, however, allowing him to snag a laptop charger off atop cabinet shelf and deftly wrap it around the other man’s neck, securing himinto a chokehold.
The struggle had ended promptlythereafter, and Jaebum, inspired by his apparent stroke of genius, took tofully restraining his new hostage with whatever wires and electrical cording hecould find in the small office they were in.
Oh, and stuffed a sock in the guy’smouth for good measure, too, because god did he not know how to shut up.
And that was ten minutes ago. Now,Jaebum was only becoming increasingly impatient. Taking a hostage hadn’t beenin the original plan, so clearly something had gone wrong. Jaebum was supposedto be helping to secure their exit, not stuck here babysitting this -
“MMMMMMPHHHHHHAAA! BLEH!”
His hostage finally managed todislodge the sock from his mouth, visibly wincing as he spat loudly. Jaebum’sexpression darkened, already contemplating taking off his other sock, (he wouldnot be touching the one that had saliva all over it),when the man spoke.
“Dude, what the hell? That wasgross! If you’re gonna gag me at least use something clean! That tasted sogross, man!”
“If you were able to keep yourmouth shut to begin with, I wouldn’t have had to resort to such measures,”Jaebum growled as he advanced forward menacingly, raising a hand for purpose ofintimidation.
“Aw, man, that’s so mean! I wasjust asking some questions– ohhh whoaaaaa. Whoa. Holy shit.”
The other man suddenly broke off,his already large eyes widening even further as he stared up at Jaebum, who’dcrossed the room towards him and consequently stepped into the light. For thefirst time, his features were clearly illuminated, and Jaebum tensed, his jawlocked and ready to face further resistance.
Instead, he almost choked on air atthe man’s next words.
“DUDE your face is a masterpiece!”
“…What?”Jaebum didn’t even know what that meant, almost swinging his fist at the guy’s facebecause what the hell even, but forced himself to pause when he was confrontedby furious headshaking.
“No like, seriously! How do youeven look like that? Are you sure you’re not a celebrity or something? And yourjawline is unreal!”
For the first time in a long time,Jaebum was completely flabbergasted. By a hostage, at that. Ittook him more than a few seconds to find his voice again, and even longer tofind words.
“What is wrong withyou? Are you an idiot?”
“I’m Jackson! Jackson Wang, actually!” The hostage, Jackson, responded enthusiastically, having the audacity toshoot Jaebum a wink. “Nice of you to ask. And actually, yes, the only thingwrong with me right now is my circulation might be getting cut off by thesecords of yours.”
He turned slightly to show off hiswrists that were twisted behind his back, wriggling his fingers.
“Don’t get me wrong, wouldn’t wantto get in the way of doing your job and all, Mr. Jawline, totally understandthat you had to tie me up for very important reasons. Could you just loosenthem a little bit, though?”
He blinked up at Jaebum innocently, cocking his head when he earned no verbal response.
“Oh come on, just a titch? Just ateensie eensie bit?”
Jaebum took a deep breath, countingdown from ten in his head so he didn’t accidently murderthis infuriating bastard. Don’tlose it, Jaebum, the gang needs a bargaining chip that’s alive.
“You do realize that I’m holdingyou hostage, right? That I couldn’t give a flying fuck about your comfort? ThatI could literally -” Jaebum grit his teeth, reaching down to lift Jackson up byhis collar, slamming his back into wall, “kill you right now?”
“Ohhh, kinky,” Jackson grimacedslightly when his head rebounded off the wall with a painful thud, but was backto grinning almost instantly. He even went slightly cross-eyed in order tomaintain eye contact with Jaebum, whose face was now mere inches away from hisown. “You know actually, if you’re gonna stay this close to me, I think I’d befine with these cords as long as-”
“Oh what the fuck,” Jaebumhissed, shoving Jackson off to the side as he stepped back with a look ofdisgust of on his face. Kicking off his shoe, Jaebum reached down, intent onremoving his other sock because clearly he was dealing with a total incompetentdumbass, and attempting to speak with him any more was only going to spike hisblood pressure.
“Oh, dude, no, please, not anothersock!” Jackson wailed, his irritating voice sounding much closer to a whinethan fearful begging. “Oh come on, please? Oh oh, I have a better idea! Ifyou’re gonna gag me, can you just take off your shirt and use that? You’vegotta have a killer bod, right? So no need to be shy, come on!”
Having already yanked his sock off,Jaebum snarled, moving forward with a vengeful rage when suddenly, his phonewent off.
Jaebum froze, sock still clutchedin hand before he finally exhaled deeply, retreating to the far end of the roomwith surprising swiftness as his phone was retrieved from his back pocket.
“Hello? What’s -”
“Get out, now. Forget the hostage,we have what we need and police are surrounding the premises, just get out now!”
“But where -”
Jaebum swore loudly when a telltaleclick signaled the other side hanging up, but he didn’t waste any timeattempting to redial.
Shit he needed his own way out, and if police were already surroundingthe premises he needed some way to slip through undetected. Almost immediately,he started running through his options, eyes scanning the room for anythingthat could be useful.
Eyes landing on Jackson, an ideastruck him, and for the first time, Jaebum returned Jackson’s grin with one ofhis own. He strode towards him briskly, whipping out the small army knife hekept in his other back pocket.
Jackson didn’t seem to notice theweapon, appearing simply starstruck at the appearance of Jaebum’s smile.
“Whoa, dude, you should smile moreoften, it’s quite- WAIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”
Jackson let out a muffled shriek,Jaebum pressing a palm against his mouth just in time to block most of thesound. Immediately, Jackson’s hands were on Jaebum’s own, his eyes wide.
Jaebum had cut his bonds, and wasnow busy tugging off his outer clothing. His button-up was off within seconds, and Jaebum’s efficiency ensured his undershirt followed shortly after.
“Whoa, whoa, aren’t we moving a bitfast here?” Jackson babbled as Jaebum went for his belt next, but didn’t resistdue to the cold blade pressed to the side of his throat. “Like, shouldn’t youtell me your name first, at least? Isn’t that basic etiquette?”
Jaebum didn’t respond, directingall his attention towards stripping Jackson down. There was a large amount offumbling, but the knife pressed against Jackson’s skin never wavered.
“Oh come on, now you won’t eventalk to me? You’re just gonna - hey, hey, I thought we were over the bondage!”
Having stripped Jackson down topretty much just his underwear, Jaebum quickly restrained him once more withthe cords, shoving him off to the side when he finished.
“Aww, really? You’re just going toleave me here? Naked?”
Jaebum couldn’t help but smirk ashe pulled off his own clothes, switching into Jackson’s uniform instead. It wasa tight fit, and the pants were definitely too short, but it’d do - no oneshould question a security guard wearing the company badge.
“You’ve got your underwear, haven’tyou? You’ve got quite the killer bod yourself, so no need to be shy, right?”Jaebum didn’t even try to keep the smugness out of his voice, mood instantlylifted by Jackson’s pitiful state.
Jaebum gathered his own clothesnext, stuffing them into his pack, and therefore missed the mischievous gleamthat lit up in Jackson’s eyes.
“Why, thank you. Does that count asyou flirting back, Mr. Jawline?”
Jaebum snorted, striding towardsthe door to make his leave without a single backwards glance.
By the time the door finally swungto a close, Jaebum was already halfway down the hall. So the faint “Call me!”that was yelled out right before it clicked shut just barely made it toJaebum’s ears.
He’d merely scoffed, shaking hishead as he broke into a determined sprint.
~~
Just as Jaebum predicted, slippingthrough the crowd of police had been a piece of cake with his security guardgetup. Arriving back at their base was easy enough after that, and Jaebum wasrelieved to find out that despite the many hiccups along the way, the heist hadbeen an overall success.
It wasn’t until much later, aftermany hours of drunken celebration and feasting, that Jaebum finally returnedhome to his apartment, slipping off his shoes to find a tiny slip of paperflutter up and out of the left heel.
It was a haphazardly folded note, with equally haphazard handwriting that was still somehow legible.
First, a series of digits that wereclearly a phone number. Then, a signature:
~ JW :)
~~
Jaebum slept fitfully that night, dreaming of large, shining eyes and dirty socks.

Ask Rules and Questions I Will Not Answer
After plenty of people still don’t read my FAQ and continue to send me asks that break my FAQ rules, I am making this post. If you want to send me an ask, read this first. If there is something in the ask that breaks these rules I simply will not respond and it will be immediately deleted. I hate having to make things like this and seem so aggressive but I am tired of getting uncomfortable asks.
QUESTIONS I WILL NOT ANSWER AT ALL!!
These asks are the ones that if they even appear in my ask box I will delete them without a question.
Any questions that have to do with medical issues, disabilities, disease or injury. I am not a doctor. I am not trained to answer these questions. I am a witch who is an art major, I have no education in medicine. Ask a medical professional not me.
Any questions having to do with mental or emotional disorders/illnesses. I myself have a few yes but I am still not trained in giving you advice on your own. Speak to a professional about it, not me.
Any questions related to the law, lawsuits, court hearings, or other legal matters. I am not a lawyer I don’t know anything about this sort of stuff. Again, speak to a professional.
Asking questions about my PERSONAL sex life is not okay. Stop it.
Questions related to your deceased relatives or friends. I’m sorry these make me uncomfortable. (ex: ‘did my dad know that i loved him before he died?’)
Requests for blog promotions or other similar things. I’m not an advertising platform.
Anything about abortion, childcare, miscarriage, pregnancy, etc. I know nothing about these things and again I am not a medical professional or childcare expert.
I will not give you advice on how to use magic to commit crimes.
I will not give you advice on how to physically harm others.
I do love magic yes, but I only do love magic that have consent given from both sides. I am not going to help you force someone’s feelings.
I will not cast or tell you how to cast spells on others to change their emotions or thoughts- this again goes against the consent thing.
I will not cast spells for you.
I will not pray to deities for you.
Unless I am taking spell requests I will not write spells for you.
Unless I have free readings open (it will say so in my description) I will not do free readings.
Weightloss or dieting- eat healthy and exercise is all I will say.
Anything that has to do with gatekeeping, bashing on another’s practices, rumor spreading, hate speech, racism, sexism, etc etc. All of these will be deleted if not possibly getting you blocked. My inbox and blog is no place for this shit.
Questions I MAY NOT answer
These are the questions that are in a gray area. I may answer if them if they don’t fall under certain things listed below them.
Deities/Religion/Angels- I know nothing to little about most of these. I do work with some deities but outside of them and a few I researched I will likely not be able to tell you more than google can.
“What are the correspondences for this crystal/herb/animal/tree/etc?”- use google my friend. That is often what I do when I don’t know the correspondences of things. I also have tags for most things if you search “crystals” or “herbs”. You can also always search keywords on my blog, I’m sure you will find stuff.
“I’m a beginner/baby witch and I don’t know where to start” - search my beginner, beginner witchcraft, beginner witch, beginner magic, masterpost and general witchcraft tags. You will find all of the beginner material I have as well as this exact question answered 10 or so times with details with starting out, tips and other such things. I am all for helping you guys out but please, search my blog and then ask me more specific questions on where you are confused.
“Do you have a spell for ____” - search my grimoire. I have spells listed by category. Or search your intent as a keyword and I am sure you will find spells related to that intent.
Omens, signs, visions, etc- I always rule out the mundane first so sometimes that is what I will say. I am also not you, different things have different meanings to different people. Likely this is something you need to analyze for yourself.
Personal questions such as pertaining to my beliefs, love life, family, etc- If I don’t want to answer it I won’t. If it’s something I find uncomfortable and I tell you to stop and you continue, I will block you.
OTHER GENERAL RULES
No hate in general, I avoid arguments and unnecessary drama. Take that somewhere else.
All threats will be taken very seriously and you will be reported.
Sending me hate because of my answer I gave you will be immediately deleted. If it continues you will be blocked.
Harassment is not allowed. If I tell you to stop, respect it or you will be reported.
Mundane things happen, not everything that happens will be related to magic. I will always answer honestly and if something seems mundane I will tell you. You may take my advice or not, but attacking me for not giving a ‘witchy answer’ will end in you being blocked.
Don’t send repeat asks, if you sent it once and I haven’t answered and it doesn’t break the rules listed on this post then likely I am either busy, researching it, working on other things or not in the right frame of mind to answer it. I will answer it, just give me time.
Search my blog for keywords, tags and my grimoire first before sending me asks, please.

MARGINAL#4 Index 1st Stage ~REVOLUTION!~ Chapter 7 - Revolutionary★Stars (Translation)
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8
\Happy 4th debut anniversary to MARGINAL#4!!!!/
The contents of this chapter were performed as Reader’s Theater by the seiyuu cast of MARGINAL#4 at Rejet Fes. 2013, the event Universe FES is based on.
★ Please DO NOT re-translate or post this translation anywhere.
CHAPTER 7: Revolutionary★Stars
──MARGINAL#4′s dressing room is filled with a slight air of nervousness on the day of the FES.
“‘At long last... the day has come! My... best stage... If you’re my Star Cluster... then you better watch! ...I’ll be stirring up a revolution today...!’ Alright, and sent!”
Twitter addict Atom is engrossed in Twitter while skilfully operating his smartphone with one hand. To be on it on the very day of FES, and right before the performance no less is quite amazing... thought Rui, who is sitting next to him in silence. Even as he is impressed by the speed at which Atom’s fingers are moving, he says the following with an unimpressed expression.
“Hah... Tweeting even at a time like this? You best get your act together. My goodness.” “You be quiet. This makes me the most relaxed. And besides, this is fan service. Manager said it’s important for an idol, y’know? Oh, I got some replies! I sure am getting a lot more coming in today... Uh, let’s see... err......”
Atom responds to every reply despite being overwhelmed by the large number of them. As a Twitter addict, for him to ignore replies is preposterous. While peering into the screen of Atom’s smartphone, Eru puts a word in.
“If we didn’t get any replies on the actual day of FES, it’d be the end for us, wouldn’t it? Right, Aru?” “Y-Yeah...” “Hm? What’s up, Aru? Somehow, you look really worried. What? Perhaps you’re... scared?” “N-No! That’s not it... Um...”
Although he denies it, Aru’s voice is trembling that it can be regarded as a positive sign that he is scared. Atom, who has finished replying, gets up from his seat and pats Aru on the shoulder.
“It’s gonna be okay! You’re our leader, right? Have more confidence in yourself!” “Exactly. Aru-kun, with you being that anxious, we will become anxious as well.”
In order to back up Atom’s remark, Rui also whispers in a voice that is gentler than usual. Eru nods in agreement as he opens his mouth to speak.
“Right? Ah, but I guess there are lots of people among your fans who think that’s cute... Like, ‘Even though he comes off as unreliable, the truth is he’s the leader!’” “THAT’S NOT IT!!!”
Aru, whose face is now bright red, cries. With wide eyes, everyone turns their attention to his way.
“Uwah?!”
What’s more, Eru lets out a voice without thinking. Several times a year, his older brother will yell out this loudly... And that’s because it happens whenever he encounters a PK1 in his online games...
“Geez, that’s not it. I’m just... I’m just a bit...”
Aru catches his breath and, as if feeling slightly embarrassed for uncharacteristically shouting like that, clears his throat with a small cough. When he does so, Atom for some reason speaks without a moment’s hesitation.
“Toilet?” “!! That’s even more wrong!! Geez, really... Do I look like that kind of character... Honestly... The reason I’m fidgety is... how do I put this... the feeling of trembling with excitement before a boss battle? Like a ‘Here goes!!’ kind of feeling.”
Desperately finding the words, Aru speaks of his own enthusiasm. As soon as he finally understands, Eru pats his shoulder once again as he wears a satisfied smile.
“I see, that’s our leader! Reliable, aren’t you!” “Hehe... After all... This PT’s leader is me... If the vanguard doesn’t get it together, the rear guards will be troubled... But... the feeling is just like before attempting a limited quest... Because of that... I feel somewhat restless...”
For Aru, who spins words which people who aren’t familiar with online games would kind of understand but at the same time wouldn’t understand at all, his side profile is brimming with determination.
“Again with the cryptic words... How about you stop using online gaming language, Aru-kun?”
Rui chides Aru with a half-smile for his unique online game jargon.
“I will no longer be myself then...!”
Aru droops his imaginary puppy ears and mumbles.
“No, no, that won’t happen. Well, I know how you feel though. We don’t have much of a choice now but to kick and struggle. We gotta get through this while being prepared to go up in flames!”
Atom, who says that as he’s fiddling with his smartphone, is fired up. Aru immediately inserts a retort over the words “prepared to go up in flames”.
“Eh, going up in flames is a little... Since we’ve made it all the way here at Universe FES, I think I want to be spared from being banned...” “Well, on top of Aru-kun’s personality, being worried is something that is inevitable. We did everything we could to the best of our abilities yet it is also true that the days we had leading up to today’s Universe FES were few.”
Rui says in a soothing manner as he calmly takes in the worried Aru’s remark.
“...Yeah. As I thought... We’re... Our PT will be disbanded today, won’t it...”
Aru, while agreeing with Rui’s remark, voices even more uneasy words. Atom slaps Rui’s back in panic.
“Oi, oi! What are we gonna do with that timid attitude?! You too, Rui, those words are unnecessary! Don’t say stuff that will fuel his anxiety!” “Even if I cover up the truth and coat it with a lie, it will not be a fundamental solution. It is meaningful to properly understand the facts.”
Rui directs his intellectual, calm gaze at all of the members.
“If that’s how it is... then it’s true that we didn’t have much time... but we also worked hard with everything we had... That is also an unmistakable fact, right?”
Eru comments in support of Rui’s words. Rui nods as he sends Eru an appreciative gaze.
“Yes, that is exactly right. That is why we should have confidence in ourselves. That was what I was trying to say.”
“Rui-kun...!”
Seemingly deeply impressed by Rui’s words, Aru becomes misty-eyed.
“Ah, damn it! Rui, your words are confusing as ever! You should just say it straight! Like, ‘We worked hard so we’ll definitely be okay!’”
Atom impatiently says to Rui. Rui sends Atom, who is rattling on, a cold gaze.
“That would be fine if I was simple-minded like Atom-kun.” “Wha-! What was that?! Simple-minded?!”
Atom stands there speechless, unable to say a word back.
“It is the truth, is it not? Or what is it? Are you going to complicate things, and say something such as, ‘I am the owner of a simple mind.’?”
Rui pushes further in a joking tone.
“...Who are you calling a simple-minded, meat-headed idiot of an idol?” “No one went that far to say that though...”
Although Rui is unimpressed, he also seems to be enjoying himself in his own way. Eru intervenes.
“Now, now! Don’t fight even at a time like this! Our important performance is up soon, you know? I get that you two don’t see things eye-to-eye though... I mean, remember? Like when we had that training camp in the beginning...”
“I know right. Rui back then just seriously kept on confining himself to his private account! Because of that, no matter how much I wanted to retweet him, I couldn’t!!”
Atom says, giving Rui a teasing look.
“‘Private account,’ you say... But well, I understand what you want to say. He had a thick wall up against all of us.”
Eru voices his agreement. Atom carries on.
“Especially towards me. Before he followed me, I was fiercely blocked!!” “Now that you mention it, that did happen. However... That is now a story of the past. But it is true that I was not easily influenced into going along with Atom-kun's whims.”
When Rui, the person in question, says that, Atom hugs his shoulder with one arm and voices with content.
“But, you know, how do I put it? Things are different from that time. Rui ended up being my follower anyway. Like we were able understand each other? We came to a mutual understanding, you could say.” “No, that is wrong. Please do not misunderstand.”
Rui bluntly states while shaking off Atom’s arm.
“EEEEH?! I’m wrong?! Say what?!” “But Atom-kun’s and Manager’s... everyone’s words at that time... I indeed felt a possibility... that there was an equation I was not aware of within this group.”
It is Eru who follows up right after.
“Right? ...Yup, that’s right. I feel the same way. I... believe in everyone... in MG#42!” “Eru...”
Aru murmurs Eru’s name, sounding deeply moved. Eru adds on.
At that time... when I was set up by our seniors from the agency... everyone and Manager believed in me unconditionally... That is why I also believe in everyone...” “Now that you brought it up, that kind of thing did happen.”
Rui says with nostalgic eyes.
“Well, I thought that there was no way Eru would delete his account without saying anything. He would have a reason and just temporarily deactivate it.”
Aru continues.
“Yeah. Eru, what happened that time... was tough, wasn’t it. You had no idea that your guild members would give you false information...”
Eru gives Aru’s unique online game expression an immediate retort.
“‘Guild members,’ you say... But well, when I look back at it now, it’s exactly because of what happened that time... that I was able to get to where I am now, I think.”
A trial which Eru overcame. It was something he had in common with Aru.
“...Able to get to where you are now... huh... Certainly... when I think about it, it might’ve been the start for me too... When I got involved with members from another guild and was told many terrible things, Manager and all of you acknowledged me.”
Eru instinctively scowls.
“Aahh... Just thinking about it now gets me really irritated. Guys who can’t understand Aru’s talent, I want to turn all of them into marimo and roll them around!”
Eru sounds annoyed, but they can sense sadness rather than anger from his words.
“‘Turn into marimo’... You’d be the only one to benefit from that!”
Atom says jokingly, but his eyes too seem sad from the memory of that time.
It wasn’t just Aru himself who was hurt by the treatment he had received. All of the members were too. Aru’s existence. His presence is special and isn’t just simply a matter of his position “as the leader”. The ones who realised that more than anyone else were none other than all of the members.
Their faith allowed Aru to grow into a genuine leader.
“Because I didn’t think everyone thought of me in that way... I was super happy. I’m glad to be a part of MG#4... At that time, I was finally able to think that.”
Rui declares with eyes filled with conviction.
“Aru-kun... You exist as an essential factor to the equation to make this group successful... Please have more confidence in yourself.” “Thank you... Rui-kun!”
Aru thanks him upfront and shows them his brightest smile. Atom desperately tries to hide something faintly shining in his eyes.
“W-What’s with you! Don’t make me cry before we get on stage! What are you even trying to confirm now after all this time... Geez... Y’know, I... I knew... I especially knew that already!”
Atom mutters with his head up high and his eyes closed.
“That was why... I turned the offer down that time...!”
In that moment, Aru begins to speak in an unusually resolute tone of voice.
“When I heard about it, I... I thought that if Atom-kun really did withdraw from the group, if it was something you had decided for yourself, then there was nothing I could do about it. But... how I truly felt was different. If Atom-kun leaves... No, if anyone leaves, MG#4 will not exist... Above all, I wanted to continue working with you, Atom-kun.”
Aru normally takes the back seat, but for a moment there, he shows a leader-like attitude. His twin, Eru, replies without a moment’s delay.
“As expected of Aru! You took the words right out of my mouth just now!”
Atom responds to the two’s opinions with confidence.
“MG#4 consists of us four as well as Manager... It won’t hold with even one person short. We, including Manager, are a group as well as comrades... Isn’t that right?”
Rui instantly agrees.
“Yes, that is exactly right.”
Eru and Aru follow after.
“Yup!” “Mhm...! Ah... it’s almost time...”
Atom gulps.
“At last, huh...”
Rui slowly rises from his chair and speaks.
“Yes. Manager is waiting for us. Let us go...”
──Prior to the curtain raising, an announcement plays throughout the venue.
Rui calls out to their Manager, who has been waiting at the wing of the stage with a nervous look on her face.
“Manager, what is going to happen if you look that worried? Come now, pull yourself together... For you, who have been watching over us closer than anyone... what is about to happen next is something that you have painted. Or do you not have faith in us? Come now, please look straight towards me. You... will ruin your lovely face, looking like that.”
Atom speaks in a cheerful voice in an attempt to ease their Manager of her nervousness.
“That guy Rui says some complicated things but... the reason I was able to make it this far... was seriously... thanks to you. If it weren’t for you being there, we would’ve fallen apart in the blink of an eye. Your official RTs... I’m super grateful for them. Now witness our revolution with your own eyes!”
Eru continues with an expression full of confidence.
“Manager, watch over us, okay? We’ll show you the best stage yet...! Look forward to it...! We definitely won’t let you down. Just like you believe in me, I will also believe in myself, as well as in all of MG#4, and sing... It’s a promise.”
And last of all, Aru declares with a smile.
“Yeah. I’ll also do my best... In this venue... we’ll sing and dance to the best of our abilities to make it rain of stars like STARMATE did! We’ll be okay if we work together. Of course, Manager, our PT member includes you. Thank you so much. And... Please continue to take care of us...”
The four, who were once disconnected, shared the same feelings for their Manager, who always continued to support them close by.
For the sake of making this stage a success. For the sake of repaying everyone who has supported them. For the sake of their own future as MARGINAL#4.
“... ...Alright, then, let’s get going, shall we?”
They feel the atmosphere change from their leader’s announcement. MARGINAL#4′s first ever stage is about to begin.
“Yes, let’s...! Our equation has already been solved. Success... is the assured answer.”
“Alright, it’s our turn! Let’s do our best with a stack of marimo!” “Aright... Then, stack your hands on top of each other’s!!”
Rui and Eru cheerfully reply back to Atom’s enthusiastic shout.
“Alright!” “Okay!”
Leader-like when it counts, Aru shouts.
“My heart’s beating with excitement... Now, let’s encounter everyone who’s waiting in this venue!” “You got it! LET’S DRIVEEEEEEEEE!!!”
Atom responds to Aru’s words in the loudest voice he can make.
──The buzzer sound of the curtains opening went off.
Lighting falls inside the venue, and the noise completely changes to silence. In that moment, Atom holds back the staff, who are trying to lead them into their standby positions.
“Alright, we’re gonna do what I had been planning for this very daaaaaayyy!!”
Surprised, Rui asks for a repeated explanation.
“Eh, what is it?” “Listen up, you guys, we’re forming a circle! Put your arms around each other’s shoulders.”
Saying that, Atom puts an arm around Aru’s shoulder.
“Geez, you’re being too rough... Geez!!”
Eru, who has his arms around Aru’s and Rui’s shoulders, speaks in a cheerful manner.
“I’m getting all excited!”
In the end, they get their Manager and the staff who are present there involved, and a gigantic circle is completed. Atom gazes at each and every person’s face in order, even as they are standing in the dim light used for standby.
“We’ll go with this!! ......MG#4! To the ends of the galaxy, one kiss... With pleasure!” “Eh?”
Atom, feeling disappointed that his point isn’t getting across, impatiently shouts at Rui.
“Argh! It’s a greeting to fire ourselves up!! Listen to what I say just for today! One kiss, with pleasureeee! We go with that!!”
Everyone who happens to be present at the scene sighs at his sudden suggestion, but not one of them objects.
“......Good grief.”
Rui sighs, but he looks happy. Atom calls out to the one person he can entrust this task to... their leader.
“Leader, I’m counting on ya!!”
Aru looks surprised for a moment there, but he immediately pulls himself together and raises his voice.
“Alright, then here I go! Everyone! We’re going to say it all at once~~~~!! When I say, ‘One kiss,’ reply with, ‘With pleasure!’ okay! Are you ready? Now theeen... Here I gooooo!”
“MG#4! To the ends of the galaxy... ONE KISS...!!!!!!!!!”
Everyone who makes up MARGINAL#4 responds in unison.
“WITH PLEASURE!!!!”
☆★☆
The song’s intro begins to play.
The stage instantly turns to bright colours. The audience gets excited. Their cheers and enthusiasm are to a remarkable degree. Four people run off into the dazzling light. Tears spill from their Manager’s eyes as she watches their backs while desperately refraining herself from squinting because of that brilliant sight.
Their very first live goes by in the blink of an eye and at last, they’ve made it to their last song. Even as the stage darkens, the cheers don’t stop. In fact, their vigour is increasing in hopes that the members will come back on stage. Atom, who rushes backstage, says with excitement as he accepts a towel.
“Haa, haa... Awesome... This feels amazing... That was the best!”
Even the always calm and collected Rui, who is holding mineral water in one hand, is excited.
“Ah... I feel like my soul is about to leave my body... Like I have discovered an unknown equation... For me to be wrapped up in that state of excitement... It is hard to believe...” “Everyone is really amazing... I didn’t think that we could put on such an amazing performance... It’s as if we... have become eternal engines powered by the audience...”
His way of expressing his words is as per usual through online gaming terms, but just like them, Aru also feels the unknown energy surrounding this stage. In that moment, Eru, who has taken a quick look at the audience, suddenly lets out a surprised sound.
“...?! Ah...!!” “Hm? What’s up?”
Atom asks. Eru then shouts while choking on his words.
“Have a look... See...?! The audience...!”
Atom peers in on the audience from the wing of the stage.
“What?! Where?!” “Like I said! The audience! Look at the entire thing...!!”
Rui, who sees that, gasps with surprise.
“...The stars... Could this be...”
In that moment, not one of them can speak from the shock. Over there is without a doubt the galaxy itself, where shooting stars are glistening. Atom says with a hoarse voice.
“You’re joking, right?! The stars... They’re falling...!”
Aru opens his large eyes even wider.
“Don’t tell me, what Director meant... was this?” “The legendary idol group, STARMATE, brought a shower of stars at every one of their stages... I had thought that that kind of unscientific thing was implausible but... I see now... This was what happened...!”
Rui is so deeply moved that his voice is shaking.
“MG#4 Cluster’s penlights... they are light... practically like stars...!”
Atom is left awestruck.
The venue is completely illuminated. The penlights from the audience, who are eagerly waiting for the members’ reappearance on stage, glisten as if they are thousands of stars.
Eru and Aru lean out from backstage and cry out.
“Amazing...! The dazzling lights... look just like the Milky Way galaxy...!”
“Everyone, this is amazing...! Everyone truly looks like stars!!” “...What should I say... I cannot form the words. ...I cannot explain it well...”
Rui is deeply moved that he is at a loss for words. Aru murmurs with a look of disbelief.
“I wonder if this is what is meant by shooting stars falling...!”
Atom keeps and watches the view for a while but unable to contain himself, he runs off onto the stage.
“...More! Make it rain of more and more stars! More. You heard me... More! For us...!”
Rui continues.
“Please make it rain of stars! Come now, everyone...!”
Eru and Aru naturally follow.
“More and more!” “More... Grant us energy... Hey, everyone, please! Give it to MG#4... your energy!!”
They moment they shout that, along with the most cheers they have had today, a view they have never seen until now stretches out right before their very eyes.
“Awesome... Awesome, this is awesome, seriously awesome! We... also have the power to make it rain of stars...!”
With his eyes on Atom, who is repeatedly calling out words filled with deep emotion, and the audience, Rui speaks.
“This is Ai, REVOLUTION...!” “If everyone’s and our feelings connect, we can even bring to life new stars.” “Yeah... That’s true. What do I do, I’m so moved I could die...”
Aru’s eyes well up with tears. Eru hugs Aru’s shoulder and urges him.
“...Aru! Come on, don’t stand there stunned. Our final song... Let’s go.” “Yeah. You’re right. For those who have gathered today. For the users in this venue...”
After making sure that Aru’s smile has returned, Atom shouts to the audience.
“MG#4 CLUSTER! HERE WE GO, ONE LAST SONG!!!!”
Rui continues.
“For everyone...” “And for the person who has watched over us the closest...”
Atom adds on without the use of his microphone.
“Our very first Cluster... Manager...”
When their Manager, who is just as moved as the boys backstage, looks surprised by this sudden happening, Eru secretly sends a wink her way.
“It’s all thanks to you... that we were able to make this revolution happen...”
Similarly, Aru declares.
“Without you... this revolution wouldn’t have been successful... That’s... exactly what makes us MG#4.”
In contrast to their Manager, who is shaking, in the next moment, there stood four people, whose expressions have reverted to ones befitting of the idol group, MARGINAL#4. Their voices overlap.
“For you... we will sing! Until our voices die out and our lives come to an end...!” “For only you... we are stars who will burn love...” “...And continue to shine!”
After enthusiastically singing their final song, their stage, which was like a dream, has now come to an end. All of the four call out to the fans, sounding reluctant to part, but their expressions are filled with a sense of accomplishment.
“Let’s meet again! You were awesome!! Cluster of mine!” “I had the time of my life there. This is the first time in my life I have felt this way.” “It really is a shame... for it to end. But because there is an end, that’s what makes things fun.” “Let’s definitely meet again, okay... Without fail. I... will always be waiting for you.”
The curtains to their first dream stage closes up, and excitement still lingers in four people backstage. Atom says, trying to catch his breath.
“It ended just like that... I feel like favouriting it... That was the best.”
When he does so, Rui, who has draped a towel over his shoulders and looks downward, suddenly mutters something.
“...glad... you all.”
Atom asks a question in return.
“Huh? Did you say something, Rui?”
Rui then exclaims in a loud voice that they have not heard from him until now.
“I am glad to be a part of MARGINAL#4 with you all!!!!”
Eru and Aru are surprised. Just like them, Atom looks taken aback.
“Owah, what the heck was that just now?!”
Rui then murmurs with a somewhat refreshed expression on his face.
“Somehow, my heart was filled with the desire to express that in a very loud voice.”
Seeing that, Atom returns an embarrassed yet very refreshing grin.
“Geez, what a hopeless guy. What, did you only just realise that.”
Overcome with emotion, Aru speaks.
“Rui-kun...!!” “Hey, hey, it’s a good thing it ended without any problems but does this mean... we can take this as a success?”
There is no need for him to ask for an answer, but Eru asks anyway for confirmation. Atom responds immediately.
“Yeah, for sure...” “Hmm... But you know, before our last song... I feel like we might have put in a little too much of our personal feelings...”
Eru says with a wink. Atom smiles and replies.
“Aahh... Well, you’re right about that.” “Does that make us failures as idols? But at that moment, we couldn’t help but express our personal feelings... The reason for that is that she... is the fifth member of MG#4.”
In response to Rui’s words, Aru mumbles as if he has been struck with an idea.
“MARGINAL#5, right.”
Hearing that, Eru speaks without a moment’s delay.
“So in short, MG#5? Pupupu. That might actually be a good idea.”
They all laugh together. Atom says half-jokingly.
“Yeah, not bad at all. How about we continue our activities but as MG#5?!”
One would think Rui would make a retort to that just like always, but wearing a serious expression, he is actually quite on board with it.
“That also sounds like a good idea. Shall we propose this to the person in question as well as to Director at once?” “What?! Are you serious?!”
Atom is surprised by that. Rui continues further.
“Bringing greater showers of stars with everyone’s strengths does not sound so bad either.” “Who would’ve thought I'd hear the word ‘everyone’ coming from Rui. You’ve sure grown, huh.” “......I shall let you off for today for saying that.”
Rui takes in Atom’s teasing in stride. Before he realised it, Rui had also accepted the significance of being a part of the group called MARGINAL#4, leading to his personal growth. While closing his eyes and remembering the incredible sight he witnessed just now, Aru speaks.
“To bring more and more showers of stars... How nice... It sounds really wonderful.” “Isn’t this what you call ‘MG#4, written as ‘serious’, read as ‘really’’?!”
When Eru says that while snapping his fingers, Atom laughs.
“...Eru, was that a bad pun just now? Talk about lame!!”
Eru retaliates, pretending to be angry, while smiling.
“Ehhh. I don’t want to be told that by you, Atom-kun. I’m offended!!”
Rui stares at the two with a smile.
“In any case, let us hurry... to go and meet that person as well as tell them.”
Alone, a star may give off just a tiny light. But when gathered together, these small lights amount to the starry heavens that illuminate the night sky. They cannot send a shower of stars with even one person short. They cannot.
“Today’s stage...!!”
“Those songs!”
“Our feelings!”
“Everything!”
“......We offer them to you.”
“It doesn’t end here.”
“Because this.”
“Is where our story...”
“Begins!!”
To be continued. ➤ Chapter 8

2 Throughout the index, they’ve been pronouncing their group name in full aka. “Marginal Number Four”. Starting from this sentence here, they begin to pronounce it as the shortened “Majifo”, hence the official abbreviation “MG#4” and not the usual “MARGINAL#4”.
According to the CD collection book, they formed some time in January of 2013. They debuted on the 13th of February, which would mean that they had roughly only a month to prepare.

If this isn't allowed please let me know!! I just joined reddit today, I'm trying to navigate through all the rules and such. This is a long read, I do apologize. I'm 20(F), turn 21 this year if that matters.I don't have the best guy history. My guy best friend in high school lead me to believe for three years we were together, then he told me I was worthless after I'd asked him senior year where we were headed. Told me it was fun but he's pretty sure he's gay. I cut off all contact, deleted social media, his number. His friends, still, every now and then attempt to contact me and tell me his new number, that he wants to talk to me. I've blocked all of them as well, but they continue to make new accounts to find me again.I got a job after high school and five months in we had someone transfer in because we were desperate for workers. I fell for him, and he and I seemed pretty great together. We talked a lot about his family and he's even cried in front of me before. I snuck to work on an off day to see him and we cozied up outside for hours and talked. It felt like heaven. Later on in this-come to find out-not relationship, he let slip he'd like to bang a coworker of mine if she had been single. It bothered me of course. Things got different after that because wtf?? As it turned out he had a girlfriend in a different state, but their relationship had been on the rocks. Guess he sought me out because he was lonely or wanted love in exchange for nothing. I started treating him the way he started treating me and we grew apart, then he wound up sleeping with my coworker. He's gone now. I know it's my fault he's gone but I don't care. I'm glad.I decided then to give up on love, like any other typical teenage girl would do. One night, on nightshift, I came in crying because my mom and I had been fighting before I got to work. I immediately found my work mom and held onto her for dear life, and one of my regulars had spotted me crying and had purchased a rose for me. He was a very sweet kid, he bought me my first ever rose. Naturally I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever laid eyes on.He wound up giving me his number one day and we talked; about music, about passions and hobbies, about everything. Sent each other jokes. We had a little date planned for a Saturday I requested off, and the Thursday before that he called the store to say he was coming in on roller skates. I was there with my work mom and a coworker who was in the back doing dishes, and she really wanted to see him roll in because we thought it would be funny. Now, this coworker is someone who amped the relationship between he and I, told me how excited she was for me, and pushed me to talk to him more. Told me to break from my shell a bit. So I did. Anyway, he rolled in but was so fast the coworker didn't get a chance to see him. Later she told me a joke and I sent it to him, but he never responded. Thought he was just busy, so I didn't worry about it. Didn't see him for a while. Called him and texted about our date but he completely ghosted me.The coworker got weird around me and one day she contacted me to say she'd slept with him. Said they were in love. Said it didn't mean anything. Continued to contradict. I just couldn't believe this had happened again. What the ever loving fuck was I doing wrong? He had even brought his parents in from Florida and they all came to the store together. I felt like she was rubbing it in and the other workers thought so as well. I was absolutely so bitter about this situation to the point that she quit her job. They eloped to Florida.I stayed the night with my coworker best friend (I'd known her 2 years) during a promotional training week of mine, and when we were going to sleep (slightly drunk) I'd told her I had a friend crush on a guy coworker. She was the only one I'd told this to. Didn't tell my work mom, either. Found it wasn't important because I wasn't wanting a relationship. So as a result of that, most everyone at work knew I liked him and the info got back to him. My anxiety about this whole thing was so overwhelming that I had to confront him about it because God only knows what exactly she said. So I told him I had a little bit of a crush on him, and I already knew about his preexisting feelings for me. We talked things through about how it wouldn't work, how the age gap made me super uncomfortable, and so we agreed to just be friends. He wound up moving in with a coworker and I didn't find out until after I'd gotten out of the hospital when I'd stayed for over a week. Now, I wasn't affected by this at first, but later I was upset that even if everyone had thought I liked him, now someone else all of a sudden does? I keep going through this exact pattern and I'm not sure how to change it.A few months back we were hiring specifically for assistant managers to send off to other stores. Apparently one of these dudes liked me, I just wasn't aware. I slowly started talking to him. He told me he was in an open relationship, but I didn't think anything of it because I wasn't particularly experienced in this area. And this seems off topic, but honestly things had been rough here with my mom. So yes, I was seeking external comfort. It wasn't from the best place. I know. I just wanted a human fucking connection, okay? And I still do.Anyway, I won't go into super detail but shit got heated too fucking quickly for my liking and long story short he tried to rape me. He no longer works for us. Christmas time isn't going to be the same.I told our new assistant about a cute regular I'd liked since I started working there, she wanted to kinda push me into it (but not force!! I told her I wanted to date but didn't know how to go about things considering all the other shit). So he comes up, she initiates a threesome joke, and I of course get flustered and red faced. He asked for both our numbers. I figured go ahead and forget it considering he wanted both numbers. So I dropped it. She wasn't interested in him at all, and she let him know that too.Later on, months later, I'd wound up sick in the hospital again. Was out of work for three or so weeks. I got back, and that regular asked where I'd been. Over the next few weeks we started flirting, and I finally had the balls to give him my number.I'm actually still texting him, have been since mid February. But I don't exactly know where this is headed. I don't want to be the "what are we?" girl. We have excellent chemistry, but he almost seems kind of introverted-and I find myself initiating most text conversations. I'm an introvert myself, but dealing with the opposite sex is something that I'm just now learning how to really do. As it turns out, I'm really good at flirting (when I'm not awkward and anxious lol). He's bought me roses at work, he held his hand out a couple weeks ago and offered me a hug. We hug almost every time he comes in.I'd just really like to get to know him. Without scaring him off. I want something stable, for once, without the doubt of a coworker taking over. He's an absolute sweetheart (as far as I've seen). And of course we got the virus stuff going on. Can't exactly go out with someone when you can't go out lol. They always say to take risks and put yourself out there but the more I do, the more I seem to get fucked over. I know this isn't going to be forever but at this point the same thing keeps happening and it isn't like I can flat out ask a new guy "Is there any chance you'll sleep with my coworker after I give you my number?"I'm nervous as all hell, quite frankly. I'm merely wanting a connection that serves as more than something physical (I've never been physically intimate with any of those guys, either. Love before sex). I consider myself old fashioned in the romantical sense, but for some reason I'm always drawing in the hookup culture types. I sincerely doubt on my initial meeting with a man I should say, directly, "I'm wanting a commitment. You in?" But at the same time, I feel as if there isn't a way to communicate that without being direct. It's like I'm going about this stuff the wrong way. Am I naive? A bit. I'm young, it's to be expected. But I don't have anyone to look up to in this department so I seek out Google answers or advice from strangers on the internet. Some of you fuckers are smart, though. How do I go about attracting the right guys? via /r/dating_advice

Lightspeed: Chapter 7
WARNING!!! THIS ONE IS A BIT DARK
Also, I accidentally deleted it so it’s above 8 now. So sorry :(
After they untied the 32 other resistance members on the squad, Terry explained the situation and their mission.
“Can you show us your super speed?” One of the women asked.
“Yes, shoot me.” Zxan replied. The woman pulled up her pistol and shot off 4 bullets in rapid succession. They didn’t see Zxan move, of course, but he did. He grabbed all four bullets and the casings before any of them could blink. He held out his hands, revealing all 8 of the bullet items in them.
“That’s amazing.” Whispered a man that looked to be only a couple years older than Zxan.
“There’s hundreds of thousands of people back on our Earth with different powers. There’s actually 234 speedsters on our Earth.” Alyss explained.
“And your power is knowledge?” Asked Terry.
“Yes. There are currently only 5 of us on Earth, including me. It’s an extremely rare gift.” She responded.
“Sorry to break this up,” Started a man who hadn’t said anything before now, “But shouldn’t we move on with our mission?”
“Alan, don’t be rude!” Terry scolded.
“Alan,” Zxan started, “is absolutely right. We need to find Ms. Curren as fast as we can.”
“Alright. Tim, Alan, Simon, and Sam. You’re with us. Everyone else, stay here and wait for our return.” Terry ordered. The five soldiers, along with Alyss, and Zxan all moved out of the base and they moved out towards the East.
They travelled for six hours before they reached the small town that was three miles outside of the city. It was nothing more than a deserted town covered in dust. About halfway through, Neo started talking to Zxan.
“Sir, I think these people are lying. I’m picking up over 100 human life vitals. here. I believe this is an ambush.” Neo said. Zxan knew there was no need to say anything because Neo could read his mind. So instead he asked Neo to tell Alyss to prepare herself for a possible fight and to pass the information that Neo had told him. Alyss looked at Zxan and nodded.
“Hey, Terry, are we almost there?” Zxan asked.
“Yeah, Just a few hundred yards to where their trail cuts off.” Terry replied.
“Zxan, in a few hundred yards, we’ll be in prime ambush conditions for them. It’ll be their perfect point of attack.” Neo said. Once again, Zxan asked him to pass the information on to Alyss, who, a few moments later, nodded at him again.
They reached the spot that Terry had referred too, and they all stopped. Then Terry, Alan, Tim, Simon, and Samantha all pointed their guns at Zxan and Alyss.
“I’m really sorry, but it has to end this way.” Terry said, then shot at Alyss. Zxan pushed all the bullets upward to shoot over her head and punched Terry so hard in the gut that he went flying.
“Open fire!” Tim shouted, and over 50 armed soldiers rose from seemingly nowhere and began firing. But Zxan and Alyss were quick. Alyss’s suit materialized over her body as soon as Terry had fired. She took off into the air, flying above the enemies, and fired plasma from guns that had attached to the tops of her wrists. Zxan on the other hand, took out the initial five soldiers before they could blink. His suit materialized and he shot plasma rounds at the people surrounding him.
“Neo, if they start to hurt Alyss, override her manual control and get her away from here.” Zxan said as he ran at a group of armed men that were firing at Alyss.
“Affirmative, sir.” Neo responded. Zxan kicked them all in the teeth, knocking them out, and then continued on his way without breaking a sweat.
“Incoming message from Alyss.” Neo said.
“Zxan, we need to stop this!” Alyss shouted into her mic.
“Alyss, calm down. You need to be calm and focus. You know what to do, okay?” He responded, then punched a couple more gunmen in the faces. He stopped running and turned on his mic.
“Listen up, fuckfaces!” He shouted, and nearly 40 soldiers turned to him. “You can stop now, and we’ll let you all live, but if you continue this, we will have no choice but to kill you.” He stated calmly.
“He won’t do it!” Terry shouted. “He’s a hero where he comes from! He’s trained to leave everyone alive!” All the yes we’re still on Zxan.
“Terry speaks the truth!” Zxan shouted. “But we aren’t on my planet.” Zxan finished, with a grin. He saw some of the younger soldiers visibly pale, but the older ones only looked more and more determined. They opened fire on him.
“It’s play time.” Zxan said. Then he raised his left arm, and a small tube popped out. The tube shot out a laser that cut through 3 men. 7 other men saw this and immediately dropped to the ground, throwing their guns. The remaining 30 men continued to fire, but Zxan was moving too fast, firing plasma out of a tube on his right wrist and cutting people down with the laser on his left. By the time the blood shed was over, there were only 17 soldiers remaining.
Zxan stared at all of them as his mic turned back on. “You need to leave, now.” He said in a voice that Alyss had not heard before. The 17 soldiers, without hesitation, ran off in several different directions. Then Alyss glided back down to the ground. When everyone was gone except for Alyss and Zxan, he let his suit dematerialize back into his wristband, and he dropped to his knees. He threw his head into his hands and started sobbing uncontrollably.
“Zxan, baby, it’s okay.” Alyss started, “You were only doing what you had to.”
“I was just protecting you.” Zxan said between sobs. “I didn’t know what else to do. I told them they could leave and not get hurt but they didn’t listen.” He kept sobbing.
“I know, Zxan, I know.” Alyss said as she knelt beside him, letting her helmet retract. “I know you were just trying to protect me. But we have to move on with our mission.”
Zxan nodded, wiped his eyes and stood up. He helped Alyss to her feet.
“Grab one of their rifles and a couple extra magazines. We need to blend in and use their tech. At least for now.” Zxan said, pointing towards one of the nearby corpses. He walked over to Alan, took his gun and his extra magazines. He reloaded the AR15 and walked over to where Alyss was kneeling next to Sam.
“I’m sorry about Sam.” Zxan said. “I know you guys got close during the trip.”
“She was only a year older than me.” Alyss said. “She didn’t deserve this.”
“I know, Alyss, but we gave her the opportunity to leave and she chose not to.” They stood there for a little bit. “Grab her gun, babe, we might need it.” Then he grabbed Sam’s extra mags and put them into a backpack he had picked up off of one of the corpses. Alyss grabbed the gun and followed behind Zxan as he walked towards thee point where the group had been leading them.
“Neo, scan this area and find out if Ms. Curren ever came through here.” Zxan said, frustrated at the idea that they lied the whole time. After a few moments, Neo responded.
“Scan complete… She was here, but I’m picking up traces of quantum particles. I think that they found whatever they were looking for, and then they left.” Neo responded.
“Thanks Neo. Can you tell me what they were looking for?”
“No, sir, I cannot. They were purposely blocking our signal.” Neo said. “The only reason I found them was because of the footprints and different traces they left behind.”
“Alyss!” Zxan shouted. Alyss came trotting over from where she was going through Terry’s log book.
“Zxan, look at this. They planned this the entire time. They knew we were coming, but it doesn’t say how.” She said, holding up the log book.
“Alyss, not right now. They were here, found whatever it is they were looking for, then left.”
“So they were here?” Alyss asked.
“Yes, they were actually here at some point. By the looks of the tracks, I’d say it wasn’t more than 12 hours ago.”
“Damn. We need to move then. Neo, can you tell us exactly which Earth they went to? We know it’s either Earth-2, or Earth-72.”
“Well, actually, I cannot tell you. Both dimensions have traces of her in them.” He responded.
“Shit. Well, we’ll have to go find her in one or the other.” Zxan said. He felt a sharp pain in his neck. He reached back and pulled a dart out. Then he turned to Alyss, and saw her fall to the ground. Then everything went black.
When he woke up, he was surrounded by children. They all looked to be between 10 and 14 years old. He studied the room he was in, taking in every single detail. He noticed a boy, who looked about 15 sitting in a large chair a few paces away, staring at him. He looked around and found Alyss, tied to a chair in the corner of the room.
“How are you alive?” The boy asked, looking at Zxan.
“What do you mean?” Zxan replied.
“You’re 17. You should have been imprisoned and executed a year ago. So I ask again, how are you alive?”
“Her and I are not from here. We came here from another dimension. We’re looking for the people who destroyed that village yesterday. We just want them and to leave in peace, that’s it.” Zxan replied.
“You are both going to be executed tomorrow afternoon in from of the entire city.” The boy said. Then added, with a wave of his hand, “Take them away.” The boys grabbed Zxan and Alyss and dragged them through a series of hallways and threw them into a room with no windows. The door bolted closed as it was shut.
Zxan ran over to Alyss, who was just regaining her consciousness. “Alyss! Alyss, are you okay? Did they hurt you?”
“No, I think I’m okay. Where are we?”
“We were captured by the kids. They’ve sentenced us to execution tomorrow afternoon in front of the entire city.” Zxan said. “But we won’t be here when they come back for us, I promise you that much.” Then he looked around. There was nothing in the room except them and a door.
“Stay here, I’m gonna get us out of here.” Then he ran at the door, and passed through it. As he ran through the building, he made a mental map of all of the rooms and hallways and how they connected. He noticed that one of the rooms was quite larger than the others, so he assumed that was the 15 year-old boy’s bedroom. The one who seemed in charge. After he had the whole building mapped out, he ran back to the leader’s room and went through it. He found their stuff and took it. Everything except for the backpack. He couldn’t find their backpack.
He put his wristband on, and sat in the chair in the corner of the room. When The boy finally walked in, he sat on the edge of his bed and took off his boots. Zxan went over to the door and closed it. He locked it as the boy turned to face him.
“How did you get out?” He asked, grabbing his gun and aiming it at Zxan.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. You see, I’m not an especially violent person, but I have killed many people today, so my conscience already ways pretty heavy. But I don’t imagine one more would kill me.” Zxan said in a cold, emotionless voice.
“Here’s what we’re going to do. You are going to put the gun down and tell me where I can find the backpack you confiscated from us. Then you’re going to let us go.” Zxan finished.
“And if I don’t?” The boy asked.
“Then I will kill every single person in this building, ending with you, so you can see what you’ve caused.” Zxan stated. His emotionless voice made the boy shiver with fear. He put the gun down on the bed.
“The bag we found on you is in the armory. It looked advanced, we thought it was a bomb of some kind.” The boy said.
“That’s our way home. All we want is to leave in peace, but I swear to God I will kill everyone in here. And if anyone lays a hand on the girl, I will kill you all anyway.”
“Fair enough. I’ll escort you to the armory.”
“No. You’ll draw me a map. Then you’ll have the bag delivered to the cell, where I will be waiting for it… You know what’ll happen if you try anything.” Zxan said. The boy nodded, drew a map, then handed it to Zxan.
“Thanks.” Zxan said, then he was gone. The boy stood there for a second, blinking multiple times, not believing his eyes. Then he cautiously looked under his bed and in the closet. But the boy that was only a little bit older than him, was nowhere to be seen.
Back at the cell, Zxan handed Alyss her wristband. He consoled her and they waited for the boys to show up with their backpack. But, it never happened. They waited for 20 minutes and nobody showed up.
“Alright Alyss, suit up. We’re getting the fuck out of here.” Zxan said as he stood up and pulled her to her feet. Their suits stretched over their bodies like a wave of nanobots. They equipped their weapons and got ready to tear the place to the ground. Zxan raised his left arm and the tube materialized on top of his forearm. He cut a hole in the door, then kicked it out.
“Let’s go,” He said, then walked through the hole, punching two guards, sending them flying down the hallway. An alarm started blaring and more guards rushed down the hallway towards them.
“These people never learn.” Alyss said, then fired a burst of plasma down the hallway, striking two unlucky kids in their chests, frying their armor and killing them instantly. They opened fire on Alyss and Zxan, who’s suits deflected the bullets. Zxan’s suit formed wings and thrusters and he rocketed towards the group of teenagers. He kicked the one in front so hard that his ribcage collapsed and killed him instantly, and also sent him toppling into the three kids behind him. Zxan stepped on the dead boy’s body with one foot, aimed his plasma pistol and shot the three boys in the faces.
“You don’t deserve this.” Zxan said to them. His mic wasn't on, so nobody actually heard him, but he knew he meant it and nobody would care for his words at this point. Then he turned to the group of teenagers that were staring at him and he turned his mic on and roared. They were effectively scared and ran away.
He turned around just in time to see Alyss fall to the ground under a pile teenagers with bats. He ran over to them, and ripped them off of her, pulling on some of them so fast and with so much force that he ripped some of their arms off. Then he blasted all of them with plasma.
He pulled Alyss to her feet, and patted her shoulder. She nodded back at him. They lifted off the ground and flew through the hallways, mowing down the hostiles in their way. Zxan led the way to the armory, with Alyss following close behind. When they reached the door to the armory, Zxan hovered for a moment and then dropped to the floor. He opened the door to find two teenagers pointing guns at him.
“Hey, before you do that, you should look down this hallway.” He said through his microphone so that they could hear him. They cautiously walked over to the door as Zxan moved out of the way, and they peered into the hallway. They could see the dozens upon dozens of their dead comrades littering the hallways.
“Now, you can end up like them. Or you can live. Your choice.” Zxan said through the mic. One boy dropped his gun and ran off. But the other walked up to Zxan, spit on his helmet, then shot him in the head. Zxan didn’t even flinch. The bullet ricocheted off his helmet and buried itself into the boy’s own head, spraying blood onto Zxan’s helmet.
Zxan walked over to a vault, ripped it off of it’s hinges, and peered inside. But there was nothing in there.
“Fuck!” Zxan shouted to himself. “Neo, scan and find the boy leader.”
“Scanning… Found him. He’s currently 20 miles to the Southeast of here in a jeep, and it appears that he has the Dimensional-Teleporter.” Neo responded.
“Shit.” Zxan’s helmet retracted, showing his face as Alyss entered the room. She retracted her helmet also. “The leader has the DT. He’s 20 miles Southeast of here and moving further out. Are you ready to see what these thrusters can really do?” Zxan asked, looking her in the eyes.
“Of course I am!” She exclaimed. Then her helmet materialized over her head and she began to hover in the air. Then Zxan’s helmet took shape over his head. Then he jumped, through the roof of the building into the open air. His wings formed, and the thrusters activated and he took off after the leader boy, with Alyss following close behind.
They caught up to the kid in three minutes. And when they did, Zxan shot out the engine of the old jeep with his plasma pistol. The jeep slowed to a stop, and when it did, the teen got out and fired every bullet in his pistol at Zxan. When the clip was empty, he dropped the gun and stood there. Zxan hovered for a moment, then dropped to the ground, landing with a thump. He started walking towards the boy, and his suit started retracting into his wristband.
“I told you what would happen if you tried anything!” He shouted at the boy.
“I thought you were bluffing!” He shouted back, but Zxan was already upon him. He punched the boy in the chest, sending him reeling. When he gained his senses, he tried to hit Zxan back, but he easily dodged the attacks. They he landed 10 solid blows to the boys chest, gut, knee, and face in the blink of an eye that made the boy drop to the ground.
“How are you doing this?” He shouted at Zxan, half filled with anger, the other half fear.
“You should have just let us go.” Zxan replied, then landed another 5 blows on the boys chest in rapid succession. The boy, gasping for air, was reaching out to Alyss, who was now standing on the ground, 10 feet away.
“He- help m- me.” He whispered to her. She walked up to him, knelt down, and looked him in the eyes as her helmet retracted.
“Why?” She asked him. And horror filled his eyes as the realization that he was going to die donned on him. He started shivering uncontrollably with fear, then he began sobbing. Alyss walked over to the jeep and grabbed the backpack.
“Are you ready to leave this Godforsaken place?” She asked Zxan as her suit slipped back into her wristband and she put the backpack on.
“Not quite.” He responded. Then nanobots slid into his hand, forming a needle. “This here, is a neurotoxin that will kill you in 3 hours. I’ve left the antidote in your room in the second drawer of your nightstand. If you can make it back to your base and get the antidote on time, you will survive.” He told the boy, then he stuck the needle into the boy’s neck and injected the toxin into his bloodstream. The boy struggled to his knees and began crawling back towards his base.
“Alright, let’s get out of here.” Zxan said as he selected Earth-2 on his wristband. Then a bright flash shot out of the backpack and portal appeared, then they disappeared through it.
