I love your idea about EP 2. It sounds more better than the actual EP. Honestly Im disappointed of how Leona wasnt given his villain moment like Scar does. But I was even more disappointed that they made him more of a iredeemable person until EP 6. They couldve shown his more soft side like they did in his Bday.

Wow, I’m talking about Leona a lot lately 🦁 This is going to get lengthy, so look below the cut for my thoughts on Leona’s development chapters 3-5!

I definitely think that Leona’s Overblot seemed less... impactful (?) since Yuu and co. never got to directly interact with him much that chapter. It’s certainly weird to think about when they frequently ran into Riddle the last chapter. (It was also kind of sad that when we did get to see Leona interact with Yuu and co., he was just bullying them in Magift which seems petty in comparison to like... say, Azul, who although we didn’t interact with a lot, still got his important moments like protecting his contracts).

However! I don’t think that chapters 3, 4, and 5 left Leona “irredeemable”. Twisted Wonderland really plays with the concept of morality, what’s right and what’s wrong. To that end, many of the characters depicted are very morally grey. Yes, they do bad things, but they come from less than ideal circumstances and don’t know how to deal with their emotional turmoil and trauma. Each chapter’s ending isn’t a happily ever after—there’s loose ends, broken relationships, confused boys trying to get it back together. We see some of them try to work on themselves (Riddle and his temper, for example), others are still a slow work in progress (Kalim and Jamil mending their relationship), and as far as I can recall, Vil is the only one who apologizes for OBing because he already has a sense of maturity. For someone as stubborn as Leona, he seems very resistant to change, so I’m not surprised if he still comes across as no different than his initial introduction in chapter 2.

Rather than “irredeemable”, I think it would be more fair to say Leona is “stagnant”. And personally? I think the stagnation fits for his character! He’s lived his whole life with the mindset that others loathe him and that he will never succeed. He’s someone that is always fixated on the past, so of course improving himself (which takes time and effort) is difficult for him.

Another point I’d like to make is that while sure, it would be nice to see Leona’s softer side in the main story, it wouldn’t make much sense. Leona is never shown to be canonically close to Yuu and co. the same way that Grim, Ace, and Deuce are, and he has no reason to be nice to them. He helps them out in chapter 3, yeah, but he had a self-serving motivation behind it. Chapter 4 he wasn’t really around because he wasn’t relevant to the Scarabia arc, and chapter 5, we see him focusing on putting together the VDC venue. What reason does Leona have to be nice in these instances? I don’t think there really is one. (He is only “soft” to be polite to the birthday interviewer.)

I think if you read closely, you can see hints at Leona changing. He’s still pretty selfish in 3, but ultimately he DID choose to help Yuu and co. (just with his own motivation). In chapter 4, Leona is willingly returning home to the Afterglow Savanna for the holidays. In 5, Leona’s actively working WITH his team members on a project rather than leading them/sitting around and bossing them around like in the original chapter 2. He may not be perfect, but I feel like Leona is definitely taking those baby steps.

We should also consider that just because the game doesn’t show us Leona explicitly learning or being more kind, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been doing so off-screen. A character can develop without us seeing it just as much as they can develop when we do see it. It wouldn’t make sense for the story to cut away from Yuu and co. to show Leona being “nicer” to Savanaclaw or other students either, as that would disrupt the focus on Octavinelle, Scarabia, and Pomefiore in their respective chapters.

The closest thing we get to “checking in” on characters post-OB is their cameos in other chapters where they’re just going about their normal school lives (like the booths in chapter 5 or the kidnappings of chapter 6). These are the moments you have to look at to see changes in behavior, subtle or not. Not every boy will announce that they’re going to confront a problematic figure in their life (like Riddle did in chapter 4, and I would argue that’s because Yuu is “closest” with Heartslabyul).

Leona never overstays his welcome, and he doesn’t have it in him to put on airs and be sweet to others. He’s still his arrogant and lazy self in chapters 3-5.

We don’t really get to see if he has changed significantly or not in these chapters because it is not that relevant to the stories being told. However, it does become relevant in chapter 6 because well, someone needs to explain what/who STYX is and establish what will happen while the Dorm Leaders have been kidnapped (aka hand power to Vice Dorm Leaders). It serves a clear purpose in the plot and it shows us that Leona has qualities of a good leader. He knows when he should surrender, and to leave his “people” in good hands while he is absent.

Again, I don’t think it’s Leona being irredeemable in chapters 3-5, but rather slow to change and still being unwilling to fully open up and trust others. There’s also the possibility of off screen development that we, the player, never see. I think he’s getting there, though (given all the subtle indicators)! Chapter 6 was a small glimpse into Leona’s full potential~

why adora is a shit friend

mmmkay so,,

since my last post, here have been some confussion as to why following your virtues would be a bad thing. But, let me explain, WHY adora is a shit friend and doesnt fight for them.

In S1E9, Adora goes to the FrightZone to rescue Glimmer and Bow. The princess aliance have a small battle in the Frightzone’s cell block, and i think a lot about this moment.

Lonnie says “We were your friends too”, when Adora exclaims she’s protecting her friends (The Rebellion).

We’ve been always so focused on Catra’s abandoment issueS throught the series, and how much it affected her. But we never focussed on the other Horde’s characters and friends of Adora felt.

After spending years being not only caddettes together, but also close friends, they loose her. With little to no explanation.

Now, we know adora left the horde because she found out they we’re evil, and she realized she was fighting for the wrong side. Immediatley after being captured by Bow and Glimmer, she befriends them and learns the errors of her ways.

shE blindly follows two strangers into war because they showed her a good time in Thaymor, and let her eat cake. I personally think it wouldve been a better strategy, helping her firends realize the error of their ways. Showing them what etheria was all about, like Bow and Glimmer did.

She simply left them for dead, and never once did she try to convinice them. I mena, they were frineds for what? 16-17 years? I think you get to know people pretty well in that amount of time spent in each others face’s.

She also does this multiple times while she’s in the rebellion. Like for startes, we have a whole fucking episode of Adoras consant mocking and disregard for Glimmer´s authority, in Mermisterys. It got to the extent that DT took advantage of her insubourdination and use it as a way to turn them on eahc other.

It is not until the dumbasses realize they’re getting played by someone when they finally but their heads together and start to plan back. Yet, it is KNOWN that adora is pretty much a shit actress, so that anger has to come from somewhere, right?

ADITIONALLY when Adora refused to use the magic of the Heart of Etheria, and Glimmer, acked her NOT to got to Beast Island because it was dangerous. They left her for dead. Adora convinced Bow to go help entrapta, knwoing it was a suciide mission.

yea well they didn’t know that, and Ador grew up with the story that people who go to Beast Isalnd are DEAD. Strategically speaking, Glimmer was right in wanting to stay in Brightmoon and TRY to figure out the Heart of Etheria.

ADORA WAS NOT HAVING IT and deliberetly convinced Bow to go on a suicide mission to help Entrata. Not knowing if she was gonna be alive. I meand, if she could convince Bow to go, she could’ve stayed a little longer to make Glimmer fucking REASON a little more into NOT using the heart of etheria. Making her see past power and Shadow Weavers manipulation.

THEREFORE, simply delaying the arrival of Horde Prime into Etheria.

im not saying Adora having morals and following them is a bad thing. Im all for sticking out for what you belive in, yet, betraying lifelong friendships IN A DAY, leaving people for dead, just because they dont align wiht you?

I think she couldve handled everything a bit better, because i assume some of y’all are gonna say that she did try and convince Catra in many ocassions to come back and she refused.

yet this was AFTER, Shadow Weaver explicitly tld Catra that if Adora returned to the Hoarde, Catra was to loose her position as Force Captain. A position she now worked hard for, and DEFINETLY DESERVES.

I know, itsall psicological, but Adora, never faught SW regarding Catra’s mental health, whenever that would’ve put her in her mother figure’s bad side. Catra was left to handle all theabuse SW threw at her, and just OCASSIONALLY received help from Adora.

If you observe the first time we see the three of them interacting, SW blantatly calls catra lazy, unmotivated and praises Adora. We also see this in many other flashbacks the both of them have; Adora gets compliments and Catra gets torn down.

I think this was a pretty good otivator for Catra, regarding her stay in the Horde. When she figured out that she was gonna be replaced by Adora, of course it makes sence that she’s gonna want to stay. Now, if adora would’ve NEVER left in the first place, or taken Catra when searching for the sword. NONE OF THE FUCKING SHIT wuldve happened.

Anyways Adora, has never faught for her friends, because in her eyes, they’re disposable. She did it to Lonnie, The Horde, to Glimmer and to Catra. She may come back to redeem her mistakes and make amends, but she never does this because she thinks she did wrong. She does this whenever she deems they have changed enough.

She welcomed Catra back when she understood that by saving Glimemer, there was still some kind of good within her.

She dismissed Catra as Evil, when she spared her in the S1 finale. Even when she saved Adora, Catra was still not good enough for Adora. She only values those who she can share a specific mentality with, not necesarily a share of values, but rather thoughts.

This is, in my opinions, why Adora is a flawed character. Yes it is shity behavior but it makes her a little more human. All the characters in this series are so well written it’s almost astonoishing that it is labeled as a KIDS show.

In other news, guess who got back into Ayakashi!

kinda wonky post but anyway uuuuhhh cause of my irl friend getting hella into ayakashi & obey me recently, ive kinda been showing her the ropes, and ended up getting sucked back into ayakashi hell paradise all over again lmaaaooo. managed to finish book one and the entire aoi book between yesterday and today, plus read the first chapter of both the twilight and night books just to get a taste of what's to come. always been looking forward to the night series cause nachi & aoi have always been my faves, can't wait for my fav lil kitty cat's nachi's book to finally be out someday :,) aoi's book was pretty emotional and had so so much going on after the cliffhanger in book 1 omfg. but mc and aoi were so loving and trusting through it all that i just couldn't help but fawn over these cuties. i personally can't really feel myself like.. self insert when it comes to ayakashi, probably because there aren't really dialogue options and stuff, or because there's such a specific story and character already there for the mc, and while the story is very interesting, it definitely feels more like i'm reading or watching something than playing, which is likely why obey me originally took over my interest in ayakashi rr awhile back. both are very interesting in their own ways, just the latter seems a bit more childish at times than i would prefer (which i feel is fine for a character, but if you're gonna let my put my name in and pretend that's me but give me no free will then like.... im just personally not as interested/invested in it then.) anyway, i did get super into the story and was so happy all my gut feelings about things were right but at what cost, and really can't wait to finally gain some story keys again to be able to read the twilight book at some point. dont think im gonna aim for all of the bond books just yet, as much as i really like the dawn crew,,, but who knows how things will go from here on out, i have no idea anymore, really didnt think i'd be getting back into this game as much as i did. went ham and got 240k+ points in the current event from last night up til now cause of a crap ton of old stamina items i had laying around and "return login bonuses" or whatnot from being away for months (whoopies). didn't manage to get the new ssr's, no surprise there, but did manage to read through the whole event and get shizuki, oji, and my boy nachi's sr's awakened, so i'm definitely more than pleased! just really regret having spent that binding bell only to have gotten a second one... cause now that solo bell is useless... couldve spent 2 to get another shizuki but i was too impatient and learned my lesson the hard way, s i g h. can't wait to finally be able to evolve that nachi sr ive had around for ages at its max ++++ too, my luck with his cards is so bad i had to buy most of the ones i have for him from the mf shards shop. but aoi always seems to come home, even if he's not a prompted card. starting to question my loyalties here just a bit lately...... just.. a thought... 🤧✌🏻

SO I watched Shrek 2 and I noticed things I didn't before because christ the last time I saw the movie I was 6 so here's a list: 1. I never noticed just how many fucking references were in this movie, like jesus dreamworks, but at no point was it cheap and stupid which is the best/weirdest part 2. Puss in Boots is the most aggresive bisexual I have ever witnessed in a movie like ???? cool 3. I was always confused as a kid why donkey turned back as well (i was six and couldn't grasp simple plot lines give me a break) and obvi its cuz he didn't kiss his true love before midnight but the interesting thing about this is somewhere dragon was a super beautiful version of herself but like dragons are already gorgeous and rad so what the fuck did she change into??? My guess a unicorn and I have shit to back that up but this is not about to turn into a shrek 2 fan theory post from good ol me 4. "Gender confused wolf" is the best and most relatable line and honeslty best and most relatable character 5. They made a reference to starbucks and changed the name but more importantly changed the icon to a queen or princess and i know it was for legal reasons but fuck dreamworks just get them as a sponsor or something their mascot is a fucking mermaid you didn't neeeed to change it 6. The King being a frog was not that big of a plot twist and was hinted at a ridiculous amount of times I was actually mad 7. They had no idea how to get Puss not to kill shrek and for them to team up, they came up with the idea, got pretty far but the landing was clumsy and weak, fuckers got lazy, he just coughs up a hairball and shrek picks him up by his scruff to laugh at him and Puss just thanks him for sparing his life but like he could've clawed his fucking eyes out that was so dumb, lazy bastards couldve done better, dont give them excuses either, if they wanted to move along with the plot they wouldve made that hairball moment way shorter then 4 fucking minutes alright! (ALSO This isn't an observation but just let shrek say fuck) 8. A lot of repressed pissed off people made this movie, specifically parents I think who have been to childrens movies with their own terrible brats and these specific people thought "lets put something in for the parents" because omg there are a decent amount of sexual jokes in this movie, they wouldn't even have to make it more obvious to make these movies adult oriented movies, just let shrek say fuck 9. I'm downloading the soundtrack as I'm typing this. Shrek movies are STRANGE but the music in them fucking slaps 10. If you've read this far I applaud you but also I'm sorry. It's been a day. Anyways last thing to note about this movie, the ugly step sisters whole situation is a fucking look. I love that bitch. Shrek is love shrek is life. I'm gonna go shovel two bottles of advil down my food hole and watch the third movie, I'll see you next time on "fuck im bored".
