hey guys! my names adam faulkner - which you might know me from my friend's band's blog @wr4th-of-the-gods.. lark taught me how to make one of these so i thought i'd whip one up for me and my brother david just for fun

Yo! I'm David, Adam's brother. Honestly, I don't know how to work this too well but we're gonna try. As Adam said we thought it would be fun. At some point we might drag our other brother on here but not yet. Finally. A cursed toy au drawing that isn't me dumping the angst on Jimmy. Then again the AU seems intent on doing that. Whatever Joel is gonna do, I'm scared but I have a mallet on hand just incase.

So yeah. Oli saves Pix through the power of music... as cliché as it is I love the power of music so SING JOEL INTO OBLIVION OLI! MAKE ME PROUD! Guess I now have a justified reason to have the song of healing from legend of Zelda majora's mask on my cursed toy inspired playlist. But this was fun to draw, using lighter tones to overlay instead of harsh bright colours or dark edges is always a treat. Note to self, lutes aren't that hard to draw, just annoying to get proportions right on.

Honestly I'm excited on where thus AU goes next. I'm guessing Oli is about to find Jimmy in the next part. That's gonna be fun. If Joel turns up, I have a mallet.

... bonus, thing I made on youcut after the previous part came out. I think it's still accurate, but @circesays can be the judge of that.

Saw @aquaquadrant posted the new bit of the hels to pay AU and @lunarcrown did some little doodles of Bravo and Timmy.

I couldn't resist it, I had to draw Timmy. I have found a new son and no one can do anything about it. Take this quickly cobbled together drawing and go.

It's a bit rushed, sure, but I just needed to do this. He's too sweet and huggable and I don't care, he's a pathetic lil guy (affectionate) and I will fight for him and die for him.

That’s a good idea….will start check marking….. I’m also realizing I think part of the problem was I actually do press send sometimes but if the connection is spotty and I don’t realize I close out tumblr and then it never ends up fully loading/sending properly….

ok this is why i think a lot of emily blogs dont really follow me

i cannot fucking stand jj. ive gone over the reasons here and in like every other post in my jj tag ajsdhlsgjlike sorry not sorry but i just Do Not Like Her. and i think emily would see the same things i do and keep her distance

that being said, i definitely have an unrequited jemily plotline. bc jj for sure has a HUGE crush on emily but i think instead of being normal about it she goes through the five stages of grief:

she tries to deny it. again, jj just gives me deeply closeted lesbian vibes so i dont think she'd allow herself to think about it. every time her mind veers in that direction she cuts herself off from it. this is probably around the time she first starts seeing will? before its a proper relationship but they're definitely sleeping together. she has all this pent up sexual tension and someone who's willing to be an outlet for her so she takes what she can get, even if its not fulfilling.

i think the bargaining stage is right around the time emily looks at her and goes "oh girl you have problems. id still tap that tho" and fucks her. which sends jj into a fuckin tailspin bc now she's confronted with the reality that she's attracted to emily--attracted to women. and i think she tries to work her way around it. she's gone through this process before: i'm absolutely one hundred percent positive that jj was the "straight girl" in college who would get wasted before sleeping with a lesbian, then used the alcohol to justify her actions afterwards. "oh im not actually gay i was just drunk haha"

she tries to force a connection with will that just isn't working, but she still can't let herself admit the truth. so when she gets pregnant i think she's resentful. she's mad at herself for getting stuck in this situation bc pro life jj obvi isnt gonna get an abortion and now she has to go through with this life that she only chose because she didn't want to admit there was another option.

depression happens around the end of season 7 when jj is realizing that emily's going to leave. there's not a chance of a relationship. and i lowkey think thats a big part of why she marries will then ajsdglsdjk like she has this void and shes hoping that a man can fill it but he just cant. i do think she cares about will like i think she loves her son and loves will for being a sweet, dedicated father, but i dont think it ends up being more than that. i think she tries to love him and she tries to lead the life she was raised to expect, but i don't think it works. and i think she sinks lower and lower into that despression.

now. here's the thing. i think it would've been sooooo much better if jj had confessed to emily instead of reid. like that would've been fascinating. it would've been her acceptance stage. afterwards when emily gently rejects her and reminds her of her obligations, jj pulls it together and saddles in for the lifetime of unfulfilled desires that she's trapped herself in. but i think she allows herself to admit that she's disappointed. she's able to acknowledge that she put herself in this situation and its not emily's fault or will's fault. and i think that makes it a little easier to be kinder to will bc she's no longer blaming him for her unhappiness.

i don't ever see it being requited. i just think emily would see the way jj treats reid, garcia, and hotch (the most obviously neurodivergent of the group) and just not want to associate closely with that. i also think emily has fucked a LOT of people at this point, she's somewhat of an expert on discerning other people's sexualities. so i think she can tell that this is something jj clearly wants, even if jj would never admit it to herself. again, something that wlw try to keep a distance from bc that toxic behavior is just annoying lmao we do not have time for that

Omg thanks for listening to my random ramblings I am feeling so validated right now. To answer your tags I have only watched bits and pieces of Rome, mostly Octavian stuff. I enjoy watching /the/ Machiavellian paragon, I may actually sit down and watch it all one day. I am not going to lie, my main interest in ToA lies with the Olympian dynamics, although from what I've seen I will have to adjust some pre existing headcanons based off what I've read especially the Hermes bit at the end of ToN, which is so disappointing from what we've read about Mr. "cant give up on family" (yes I am a bit of an Hermes apologist. Was he a terrible father to Luke? Yes absolutely by mortal standards but he did care and he has bound by fate and you cant change fate without making things worse and he doesnt seem to have a problem with the unclaimed living in his cabin unlike idk Hera would probably so as far as Olympians go he is not the worse. Not good but not the worse and damn is he an intersting character to think about.) Also something I noticed while reading through your blog is Nero said souls escape all the time from the Underworld? Which is super stupid. What kind of leaky ship is Hades, who so far has been portrayed as one of the most responsible and serious gods running down there. And it directly contradicts all of the myths that show how hard and impossible it is to escape- I just really hate that detail it feels like Rick makes all of these throwaway lines and doesnt think about how it affects the canon at large. The closest thing I can think of to justify this is Melinoe from the sword of hades story where she is supposed to take souls who didnt receive proper burial rites and terrify mortals on the surface in myth but that is not what it sounded like. Octavian is the hero of his own story and it is so tragic like from his pov he is totally in the right. Some random amnesiac son of Neptune rolles up to town and is elected praetor over you a vet in a respected position entirely devoted to the camp after one week where he mostly wasnt even in camp and showing no administrative skills and he wasnt even leader of the quest that was Frank. And then he brings a literal warship of your historical enemies, who attack your city and then dip. Yeah, he is totally justified in declaring war. And then he dies and is hailed as the hero he thought of himself in life. Rick I am begging for some depth to Octavian to show how he is an anti hero or well intentioned extremist. The manipulated by gaea angle later on was lazy and if anything makes him more sympathetic rather than him doing it all of his own will and most likely revisionist by Apollo. I also noticed how you dont seem to like the seven and nico and reyna could you expand on that? Is it the carte blanche on killing? Because I never really thought about it but, Michael Yew was Percy's fault huh? I dont remember if he ever told them to evacuate the bridge before he brought it down, which would muddy the waters, but either way it was a reckless disregard of lives, especially his for all intents and purposes subordinates as he is basically the commander of this army. I understand that these are middle grade books, which is why I try not to hold all of these thoughts against Rick too much but I cant help but think of what ifs. Especially since he brings these topics up and then brushes them under the rug, like the demigods on the Andromeda. They are fighting a war, and there will be casualties, demigod on demigod killings. Obviously he is not going to delve into the ethics of child soldiers killing each other directly but he still brings it up. And the whole Bryce thing went well beyond self defense. And yeah I get that this whole series requires serious suspense of disbelief, but that is easier with the Mist/deliberately hiding from mortals. But three immortal roman emperors with the largest company ever and fingers in every mortal pie have been able to hide for centuries? I didnt realize I had this many thoughts on the series huh. Sorry for the word vomit.

I cannot recommend HBO's Rome enough. I've watched it so many times! While it does of course have its issues, it's really fun in a political intrigue way imo. I think I keep going back to it because Octavian / Augustus "wins" in the end, the show being focused on the establishment of the empire, and that's not an ending I see a lot in media?

Riordan definitely wrote a lot of "throwaway" lines without thinking about the consequences for the broader world he was creating. Octavian is sort of that same concept -- a throwaway line -- but a whole character, seeing how little he was explored and, more, how little his role in the world seemed to affect anything else.

Hm, I suppose I don't like the Seven, Nico, Reyna, etc. But honestly? It's almost wholly personal, and I will admit that. I definitely respect them as people, for what they've accomplished and been through, but,,,I doubt I'd get along with them, largely because they don't seem to even try to understand Octavian / the Roman viewpoint. Even the "Romans" -- Reyna, Jason, Frank, Hazel -- are explicitly juxtaposed with traditional Romanness at large, and that's written as a "good" thing. I probably actively dislike Nico the most, as well as Michael Kahale, because of the roles they played in Octavian's death. Nico plays a big protagonist role in ToA too, so,,,I consider him my enemy on narrative grounds.

Regarding the way death is so,,,casual? Not addressed very well, if at all? Yeah, it's sometimes hard to swallow. The Andromeda explosion and Octavian's death are great examples, but it comes up in ToA as well and makes me angry every time.

Rouge used to be in the undertale famdom, she made 3 comics, the NAJ, PJ's daycare, vemprie verse (maybe more I think). Rouge drew a LOT of NSFW, well I mean they are an adult and was an adult in the undertale famdom WELL, the nsfw had UNDERAGED CHARACTERS and sexualize r*pe , insest, gr00ming, and other worse things.

In the NAJ au Goth r*pes Palette and later on has Palette says that he was glad he got r*pe. They also have Killer s3xually assualt Nightmare by kissing him without consent.

In VamprieVerse PJ gets Fresh drunk so PJ can r*pe Fresh while he is drunk, Rouge draws it like its a cute little ship but it just fucking R*pe.

Now PJ's daycare.. Rouge ships Bluescreen and Gradint WHO ARE BOTH ERROR SANS' KIDS. Yes I know In daycare the kid's parents are the creators but still. there is also a part were PJ says to Fresh (who is like 4) that when Fresh gets to be 18 that PJ will marry him, which is gr00ming. there is a part where geno is going to jump off a clif to join his dead brother Error (he is just sick) then PJ yells at him to quite it and scolds Geno on way he shouldn't do that which is not the way to talk to someone who is suicidal.

Author’s Note: I’m so sorry y’all. I’ve been extra busy :( Here’s chapter 2 (?) of my Shino week series. I hope you have a great day :)

Chapter 1 / Chapter 2

It has been 3 days since Shino disappeared from the Aburame compound.

It has also been 3 days since the Konoha elders re-welcomed the Aburames and reintegrated them into society.

Ever since, Shino has been staying at ROOT, hiding undercover while waiting for Danzo's orders.

And with that, Shino is handed the dreadful task of explaining every little detail to Torune.

"I just can't understand your logic, Shino." He says, clenching his fists on the table. "You should know better than to just run away from home like that!"

"What do you think you'll achieve with this?" Torune grits his teeth, "You cant escape this--there's no way Danzo will let you out anymore!"

Guilt that has previously bubbled inside him was now gone. Shino felt close to nothing as he stays cooped in ROOT. No fear. No anxiety. He was obviously feeling full of himself, believing to have won his side of the bargain. As such, none of Torune's words were ringing bells inside his head.

Shino tries to keep his facade well-put.

"How is Uncle Shibi taking the news?"

"I've sent some beetles to Father. I can tell he's doing well even without me. Nothing else will change in the household."

"Not until," Shino's words come to a startled halt. "Until I finish my promise to Danzo."

His brother bangs the table in a display of panic that Shino has never seen. " You don't know what he'll do to you. Shino, you don't know anything..."

His words cut off abruptly. In a split second, Shino senses a tremble in Torune. A slight quiver of his lips.

Torune used to live with them, and had expressed massive gratefulness towards his uncle. Shino didn't realize at that time (he was but merely eight), that more than anything, Torune's sacrifice was addressed more towards Shibi. The boy would do anything to protect his uncle—you can see it in the way he devotes himself to his work.

A kindred sort of regret rose in Shino. To think that he had so easily thrown away the ideal life that Torune had bestowed upon him—and voluntarily at that.

But both of them know that there is no safer alternative.

(It's an inevitable fate, they console themselves. It is a necessary sacrifice.)

"I had to do it for our clan." Shino repeats the fact to his brother. "We were to be killed soon enough. And it would have been Father first."

Shino's eyes flit nervously as he spoke.

"And who do you think would pull the trigger, Shino?"

Torune didn't ask why. Like he knew all of the details already.

Shino glanced around the room, thinking. He already knows the answer. Rather, he's trying to figure out how to word it in a manner that doesn't...offend Torune.

(Shino could list all the names of the ANBU members that have been in contact with particular individuals. Journalists, Governors, Clan heads, people of high posistions. Their agenda was blatant. Shino knows because their names have been whispered in contemplation throughout the Aburame compound.)

"The jonins," Shino says, in a hushed voice. "The jonins will work together with the ANBU. The Sarutobi clan will be extremely involved too."

There is a pattern Shino notices in Konoha's history. It's that the types of people who reign over the village are identical and identifiable amongst each other. A teacher to their student, A blood relative to their predecessor. Lesser clans would do anything to grab ahold of that social circle.

Replacing an unliked noble clan would be one of such tasks.

Torune listens keenly, in a hum that neither denies or confirms it.

"Not only that," He resumes, "There seems to be equal participation from other clans. Such as the Nara. You know they've been looking to steal our research on bugs."

"They're especially interested in yours, Torune."

He doesn't oblige. Torune was aware of this well before he came to ROOT, too. Fear and suspense were not things Torune had to be worried about. But today, he finds that he had to face it--the abject horror of seeing his little brother in a hostage situation. The pure fear of knowing how hopeless he is engulfs him. Was there nothing that Torune can do?

(A shinobi must constantly opress their emotions, follow a strict set of rules that they decide among themselves, and avoid extraneous conflict.

This was the first lesson Danzo had stamped inside Torune's memories.

To disconnect oneself from the act of murder—it was the essence of a shinobi.

Or so Torune thought.)

"I was to be sent as well, Shino." Torune looks down as he breaks the ice. "They want us gone because of our power. Of our potential. They'll take our knowledge and use it to their own benefit. All the research, medicine, poisons and bugs."

(The Aburames are notorious for being mysterious. All done in order to conceal oneself, to prevent oneself from having their secret techniques outed in public. Ensuring, that they stay formidable, underestimated,

and strong.)

"You heard Danzo say it. They think we're weird. Unsanitary. Off-putting. That our secrecy is a form of betrayal, even when we've been constantly obedient to Konoha."

"And will you die as well?" Shino asks cautiously, "After you've killed all of us, will they dispose of you too, Torune?"

A sorrow smile lit up Torune's face. There was, again, no answer. Shino knows—No, he had plenty of ideas already. Torune’s predisposition was already a valid enough reason for Konoha to justify his death. Killed or not, there are many ways to make a man break. Danzo would have his merry time trying out which one of those methods satisfy him best.

What Konoha was capable of bringing unto the Uchiha was just as likely to happen to the Aburames.

(This exchange ended on a heavy note. Nothing Shino says will add or subtract from the issue at hand. Just a hanging air of dread, looming over their clan's future. Both of them did what they had to preserve their clans. To protect those important to them.

But this sense of kinship—to protect those that they love. Is it not what Konoha preaches to their young, too?

Or was it the reason that Konoha wants to tear apart the Aburame family ties?)

A knock on the wooden door brings an end to the brothers' conversation. The Yamanaka boy comes in, head held high.

"Lord Danzo has requested for you, Shino Aburame. Come along, now."

Shino leaves Torune in the room. Torune knows best that he should not interfere lest he wants to live a day beneath the soil.

It can be said that ROOT was an illegal form of bodyguards, acting as Danzo's personal squadron. A blatant display of political corruption, despite Danzo’s "fancy" position as Konoha's elder. The facility was well maintained, and there was never a shortage of child soldiers sent there. The clan leaders know Danzo as a demanding figure.

The Yamanaka boy—Fuu Yamanaka stops to knock at a set of tall doors. Shino stops to ponder whether he was related directly to Ino Yamanaka.

An oddly lit room opens up by Shino, displaying machines, scrolls, and different books that are perfectly arranged inside the giant walls of bookshelves. Danzo stood in the center, on a throne chair that he does not deserve.

"You may leave now, Fuu." He spoke in a low tone.

Something in Shino buzzes as he watch the Yamanaka eye him begrudgingly while he closes the door. The buzzing didn't stop after he went out.

(His bugs were reacting to something. A feeling that Shino doesn't want to name)

"You. You're the son of Shibi Aburame, aren't you?" Danzo sneers, "So the Aburames have a dojutsu now, huh? What a nuisance. What, is your dojutsu like the Uchiha's? Prompted by deep emotional pain?"

(Shino feels the buzzing again. His bugs were on guard, but for what?)

"Does Shibi have this ability, too?"

"No." Shino spouts a half-lie.

"And how did you get your hands on this? Are you saying that it just appeared out of nowhere?"

Danzo was gauging for answers. Shino was never good at communication himself, but he was naturally gifted in speaking conspicuously

"It was always in the Aburame blood. Just forgotten through time. Nothing new."

"And you vermins have been hiding this to yourselves, haven't you? Yet you wonder why Konoha has no trust in you."

"The other clans have aces up their sleeves, too. It's why they call it a Hidden Jutsu."

Shino didn't mean to sound snark. But Danzo himself might not have the mental intelligence to understand sarcasm, so Shino thinks it's okay.

"So this dojutsu of yours—The Senrigan—tell me how this is more useful than the Byakugan."

Shino bit his tongue before answering. Once more, he'll have to cherry-pick his words exceptionally well.

"I transfer my sight to my bugs. Depending on how many bugs there are and how they're aligned, my sight can reach other countries."

"The Senrigan requires one to be perfectly still, but the bugs can collect all sounds, sights, and other details without having their chakra traced. Hiding my chakra under the bug's natural chakra will make them unnoticed by sensors"

Danzo squints his eye, thinking. "Quite the useful spying tool, huh."

"Still, we need to make sure you're telling the truth. Take off your glasses."

Shino was taken aback from the sudden request,

"Now."

He does as he's told. The sunglasses are safely kept in his pockets. Shino's eyes were dark under the sunlight, and an even deeper shade of obsidian indoors.

"Let's have you demonstrate your Senrigan, shall we? I've sent Fuu to loiter around Konoha's busy streets. Locate him using the senrigan, and tell me every word he's speaking."

And without further ado, Shino created some hand seals, took a deep breath, and a swarm of kikaichu flew out of his body, travelling through the doors and crevices of the ROOT headquarters before dispersing overground. The emerald hue of Shino's eyes looked stunning in the dark.

Even from a distance, Danzo can sense an intricate, huge web of chakra dispersing from the boy's body, Undulating, stretching outwards, and going back and forth between Shino's body and his bugs. Then, as if on command, the chakra fell silent and Shino lets out a long exhale. He's successfully established the connection.

As Shino stills his senses to callibrate himself to the beetles, he orders them to trace any signs of the familiar Yamanaka chakra signature. He steadily reduces his chakra input. When a preferable balance is reached, Shino waits in silence. Until a bug notifies him of any significant clues

(Go to the streets. He instructs them. Hover around in small swarms and don't terrify the people.

A short pause. Don't bump into anyone that I know, He commands again.)

Danzo watches as the Aburame in front of hin froze into a lotus pose. The stare in his eyes blank, but definitely buzzing with intel and chakra. There is much to be studied with this new forbidden jutsu.

Shino is notified of a sighting near Konoha's marketplace. He checks in with the bug, and once their visions link he can tell that the person had the same chakra signature.

"I've located him." Shino said. "He's using a mask and brown cloak, performing jutsus to the local children."

"And what is he saying?"

Shino tries to concentrate as hard as he can. The hand seals that Fuu was using was something he didn't recognize. Apparently memorizing while the Senrigan is activated proved to be more dizzying than he thought.

"Tori, Uma, Ne, Inu, Ne, Tori, Hitsuji, Tatsu, I, Ushi..." Shino recites slowly, making sure that he isn't wrong. "This is a variant of the Water-style technique. He's forming water spouts from his fingers."

That's absolutely correct, Fuu signals to Danzo, who had been telepathically communicating with him all this time.

"Well done, Shino. You've proven to us that you and your clan can be of use."

And with that Shino scrunches his eyes shut. A little bit disoriented from having to memorize while using the Senrigan. His beetles swiftly fly back to him, bringing him a small amount of chakra they absorbed from the villagers.

"I've done my part in reintegrating the Aburames. Give me a month and things will be back to normal. Are you ready to fulfill your side of the promise?" Danzo asked, as he stood up from his chair.

Shino gulps nervously. He didn't really plan out what to do next. But Shino was a master at lying, and with a countenance that no one can read, he was indecipherable.

"Why did you want us gone in the first place?" Shino asks, not realizing that he had voiced the thoughts out loud.

Danzo Shimura was a man who took the Second Hokage's manifesto to heart. Perhaps a bit too much. Shino had suspected, backed with the evidence and observation of his clansmen, that Danzo was pulling strings that led to the Uchiha massacre. It was easy to connect the dots, especially with Shibi and Shino's ability (they were tasked to clean it up. Shibi was fast in doing so, while Shino tended to the unconscious Sasuke.)

From the very formation of Konoha, the Aburame clan was in charge of the most tedious work. Often times having to deal with the brunt of it while Konoha lives scott-free. Border patrols, cleaning up after crimes, interrogation. The Aburames are efficient, but this efficiency ultimately lead to their public consternation.

"You Aburames are skilled, I must admit." Danzo's croaked voice echoed through the chamber. "So much so that any village would want to use you as weapons."

"And that's all there is to it, really. You bunch are too strong. Too skilled. There's too many unknown factors. The higher-ups have agreed to eliminate these threats. After all, Konoha prides itself in being a friendly nation. Your blood brings filth to our soil."

Shino knows that there is a lie slipped between those words. Danzo was not a friendly type of leader.

"The Four Noble Clans of Konoha are in need of a change. The Uchihas have proven to be evil. It is in Konoha's best interest to discard the bad, and salvage whatever is left. Haven't you noticed? The only reason we keep the Akimichi is because they're dumb enough to be controlled by the Nara and Yamanaka. And the Hyuuga's reputation are held at our mercy. You're smart enough to figure the rest." Danzo says, walking to approach Shino.

What?

Did he hear his words right? The Akimichi clan? All along, Shino had thought that the lucky title of a 'Noble Clan' are given to clans who had body modifications that cannot be replicated by other ninjas. To think that his fellow team had such a scheme hanging around their backs...Shino wants to believe that Team 10's friendship is genuine.

"Tomorrow," Danzo says, patting the chuunin's back, "You will be promoted as Jonin and will be registered as a member of the ANBU. Of course, that's a lie. Because tomorrow I will personally have you run... special errands for me."

Shino gulped. He didn't like the close proximity.

"Make sure you say your goodbyes today. You'll be listed as dead for security reasons."

And with that, Shino is let out of the facility. He finds himself pondering aimlessly on a nearby park bench. Autumn has turned the Konohagakure into a beautiful display of warm colors. The trees looked like they've been covered in a rich, velvet cloak and the air was sublime. Shino wonders how long it'll be till he can bask in this scenery again.

First, he'd visit his father. Then, he'd visit his other family members. After that he'll visit...no one. How could Shino bear to look at his friend's faces after resolving so adamantly to despise them? After convincing himself that they've forgotten him.

(And Shino still hopes. He hopes that somehow someone will notice eventually.)

But he supposes he'll finish his priorities first. Evade a civil war, restore his clan's honor, and the rest will be his secondary concerns. It is dire that he doesn't get emotional, especially in the current state Konoha is in.

He looks at the children, playing games under a nearby tree. They were too young for the academy, of course, but if they were old enough to attend, would they all turn out like him? Cold and efficient?

Shino thinks that he used to be a perfectly good student. A good ninja, but perhaps not so good as a friend. One can see plenty of differences between Shino and the rambunctious Naruto, but do they realize how much he envies his cheerful personality?

(And Shino envies him so much. He's taken the attention of the girl he favors. And now, he has taken everyone's attention away from Shino's disappearance.

Naruto had outshined Shino. As if Shino was a shadow that should not exist.)

He's had enough of the pointless thoughts. It was almost noon and Shino has to hurry home if he wants to say proper goodbyes.

But a shrill bark had frozen him to his seat.

"Akamaru, calm down!" A familiar voice shouted.

Shino jolted at the sound. It was coming from behind him. He senses two people walking by, and a dog beside them. Shino was already certain of who they were.

"Akamaru, what's wrong boy? You shouldn't be barking at strangers." The man—Kiba himself said, as he crouched to rub Akamaru's head.

"Maybe he sees someone, Kiba-kun? I don't think anyone's back home from missions..." Hinata replied, looking around the park.

Oh heavens. If there was anyone who Shino would avoid the most, it'd be these two—Hinata and Kiba. He doesn't want to face them. He doesn't even want to be near them. Alas, everytime Shino denies this thought his heart urges him more and more. To simply turn to them. To tell them everything.

(But who was it really who had decided to forget about him in the first place? No one had bothered to ask where he went after the Chuunin exams.)

Akamaru's barking turned into a soft whine. The canine was visibly confused.

Shino has yet to move from his spot at the bench.

"Come on now. No one is here. You've mistaken him for someone else, buddy." Kiba says, sounding a little harsh for someone who claims to be Akamaru's partner.

(Shino wanted to burst out laughing. Doubting a ninja dog's nose? Especially one who has worked with Shino for years? Kiba was a bad liar.

See, even Akamaru notices! Shino thinks to himself, proud to have concluded that the fault was theirs all along.)

Akamaru still whines when Kiba motions him away from Shino's bench.

"Why are you being so difficult today?!" Kiba grunts, frustrated. "Come on Akamaru, you don't want to upset Hinata on our date!"

Oh.

So it’s like that, huh.

"K-Kiba-kun! Please don't shout in public..." Hinata whimpers, fiddling her thumbs together.

And with a little nudge, Akamaru finally moves on with them. The couple enjoying the beauty of Konoha's Autumn, oblivious to everything behind it.

It took minutes. Hours, even for Shino to compose himself enough to process the ordeal.

And those hours were filled with empty pondering. With words that were on the tip of falling out of his mouth. With feelings that he had not been brave enough to admit before. With the eternal, everlasting regret of not speaking up.

But there was nothing he could do.

This is for the best. he repeats to himself. Hinata would be better off without him, he thinks.

(But he could have made her happy too. He would've given everything for her.)

A stroll to wash off these thoughts. Yes, Shino thinks that all he needed was to cool his head, shrug it off, and return to his obligations tomorrow. The warm glow of sunset was eager to mask his unease.

The sunset was particularly shy that day, and had swiftly sank to allow the moon to greet him instead. It's already past six o,clock. He knows that he needs to greet his family, but Shino's distraught conscience told him to look at the sky. The moon was still as luminous as usual.

Shino had always known how beautiful the moon is. How beautiful its pearly shimmer is.

(How gentle her eyes were, radiating such a serene, pure love)

And like an opened dam, suddenly Shino feels his chest aching. Like a hole had opened inside him--one that he can't touch nor see. A hole that, no matter how hard Shino tries, would always engulf him in rain. In a downpour that feels like a thousand needles showering on him.

It feels like such a distant memory. Months ago they were still fine. Hinata was still his comrade. And now, she's floating further away from his grasp. Was there no more space for Shino in her heart?

(But Shino was a fool to believe—

A firefly can't love the moon.

Its language can't be heard,

Its wings can't reach the sky,

Its light can't compare to the sea of stars.

It can only do what a firefly does best.

Illuminate the night in its own glow.

A token of a love that falls on deaf ears.)

By the time Shino reaches the Aburame compound, his tears were already dry. Shibi waits for him near the estate gates, and without speaking a word, held his son in a deep embrace. A fitting greeting for a child who's always been forced to grow up before his time.

Shino was going to stay the night in the estate. Saying goodbyes and packing things up. Of course, no further information would be given—everyone was in a state of wary due to the constant supervision.

He had to console them the best he can. Explain the situation. Share his insights. Assure them that this is his job as the Aburame heir. And for that, he would do everything in his capacity to make sure his loved ones don't perish.

A night is never enough to tell stories. By tomorrow morning, Shibi would have said goodbye to two sons.

Favourite game of the series?: Probably ME2 it being the game that truly solidified my love for the series it's world and it's characters, plus it's Dlc is some of the most fun content the series has ever had

MShep or FShep?: I started playing with MShep and continued to for years but after playing a little with FShep I will be doing at least my first playthrough of the Legendary edition with FShep

Earthborn, Colonist,or Spacer: earthborn, I love the concept of a someone coming from a life of poverty on the streets of earth and becoming the galaxies saviour, although I have used spacer once of twice before

Biotics or Tech: Biotics, biotics every time

Paragon or renegade: Paragon, I've done renegade once or twice but I love goody two shoes nice to everyone Paragon Shepard (although I do like them having a bit of a mean streak so I can justify doing all the renegade interrupts)

The moment you set your second heel down on the pavement, Santino was by your side, linking his arm with yours and giving a nod to the two security guards in front of a restaurant you only briefly heard about, and you gathered the fake fur across your chest and your bare shoulders, knowing that even though you looked and felt better because of your choice of clothing, you could have chosen something just as sexy that would have been more appropriate.

Although you couldn’t help the satisfied smile that spread across your lips when a few heads turned as you entered, as interested in you as they were in the man whose arm yours was now attached to, and you hummed when he drew you closer to his side, the gesture enough to fuel your confidence and strengthen your intentions.

“Bella”

You prepared yourself for an order, instructions to act a certain way, you’d gotten used to it by now, it was always the way whenever entering a room, hushed demands to follow before reaching the table. But not with Santino.

“You look fucking incredible, il mio amore.”

You bit down harshly on your lip, your whole body shuddering and you squeezed his arm, there was no time to respond, let alone sink down on your knees and worship that incredible man the way he deserved, but you certainly wasn’t going to forget the look in his eyes, forced yourself to focus as they came to a stop.

“Figlio.”

“Padre.”

Neither his father stood as Santino pulled a chair back for you, nor did he even acknowledge your at first and you held your breath, sitting down hesitantly, then turned your head as he walked around to greet his mother, leaned down to kiss your cheek and she rubbed his back gently, “Mamma.”

“Ciao, cucciolotto” his mother smiled, shifting in her seat and waiting for her son to sit down before her eyes finally made it to you who was glad for the distraction, the intensity of the older man’s stare an instant intimidation you hadn’t expected, and while you’d always respected his name, was well-aware of where he had taken his family name, you had never been this overwhelmed, reputation and face combined sending shivers down your spine, “Ah, so this is your bella, sì?”

You nodded slowly, taking a deep breath before you drew your coat from your arms and hung it over the back of the chair, soothed only by the way Santino’s hand came down on your knee, a gentle squeeze following, “Sì” you said, swallowing as you could feel two unfamiliar pairs of eyes on you, relieved when Santino cut in.

“I thought it was a family dinner” he said.

His father’s face remained unchanged and his eyes searched behind them, then snapped at the waiter, holding up two fingers before he lowered his hand and looked back at his son, “You are aware that Gianna is running the business now?”

You felt oddly out of place, despite the ease of which you was able to win anybody over, you was well-aware that this was not the moment to make use of that skill, instead you focused on Santino, the way he swallowed, visibly distressed.

“I am aware” he said slowly, licking his lips.

“And are you aware that this means I am still watching your every move, figlio?”

Santino pursed his lips, “If this is about what happened last-…”

“It is, you already risked so much and now you’re doing exactly what in the first place?”

The way his father tensed had him leaning back slowly, his body tensing with a matchable anger and sense of frustration, he had nothing to say for himself, no way to justify himself, “Nothing” he said quietly.

“Oh, grazie a Dio” the older man muttered, but there was a mocking tone behind his voice that you recognized only too well, “I thought you’d lost all sense because of this girl.”

Santino’s jaw tensed, his lips pressed together for a moment to compose himself before he was able to give a collected response, “It was actually your idea.”

“It’s also because of her that you risked so much in the first place, bello” his mother said, her voice much softer, but her words only made it harder for you to stay quiet, yet you’d vowed to behave, to go along with whatever Santino wanted to do, though admittedly, it was getting increasingly harder, “And now you’ve moved her into your place…” she continued.

Santino bit his lip, glaring back at his father, “And you think I don't know that?” He snapped. His fingers were shaking, he’d been meaning to keep you from being a part of a conversation like this, afraid all along that it would only drive you away and yet there you was, sat by his side and allowing them to talk about you as if you wasn’t even there, your fingers cupping his on your knee, and he was only momentarily distracted as the waiter placed a glass of martini in front of them each and he took it thankfully, his fingers closing around the cold glass and he down it all in one, licking his lips, “Scusa.”

His father gave a respectful nod before his face turned cold again. “This is not just about her though, Santino” he stated, his eyes dark as he looked at his son, “I thought I could trust you to take over the business soon, but now I’m not so sure. You’ve made decisions that I could not predict, you are losing focus, you are falling deeper and deeper into this family feud, you're getting distracted…”

“Padre” Santino interrupted, shaking his head, eager to explain himself now that he had something to say for himself, “I just refuse to be disrespected” His jaw was shaking and he swallowed hard, a shaky breath escaping his lips as you squeezed his hand. He was desperate for more, knew that you would be able to soothe him with a few simple touches, and he was struggling to compose himself.

“Santino, you’ve disappointed me.”

His mother sat straight, looking at her husband, “Salvatore.”

You were biting your tongue, had forced your hand that was interlocked with Santino’s to stay still, but your other hand was shaking, you was struggling hard to keep still and when you saw the look on Santino’s face, you couldn’t contain yourself anymore, “Stai zitto!”

It was like a moment of slow motion in which all three pairs of eyes fixated solely on you, more so than throughout the entire conversation, and you were trembling, a fear rushing through you, that you could not remember feeling last. You were going to regret this, but there was no going back now, and you used the moment of utter shock on the older man’s face in front of you to continue, “He has done nothing to deserve that” you snapped.

“Scusi?”

You bit your lip, “Santino has been working more and harder than I’ve ever seen anyone work, without exception. He upholds his name and lives up to it, furthering the business and all the while trying to establish a maintaining superiority over another business that makes all of this a whole lot harder. He shuts down any disrespect towards your family name, and this is what he gets?” Your lip was quivering, you couldn’t hold yourself back, not even the touch of Santino’s hand on your thigh, nor the warning gaze his mother gave you could stop you now, “People on the street are afraid of you for the wrong reason, clearly.”

Santino breathed shakily, not daring to take his eyes off you, staring in awe, and he was as worried about his father as he was fascinated by the beauty beside him. He didn’t have it in himself to apologize for you, because why would he, why would he apologize for something he had never dreamt of having but now realized he couldn’t live without?

To Santino’s surprise as well as yours, his mother spoke first, leaning forward and extending her hand to you and you took it rather hesitantly, your heart jolting as you felt the warm squeeze, “I just want to say…” she glanced to her husband who she could tell was conflicted, fuming even, yet trying to stay calm and she shook her head, “No, Salvatore, she’s right” she said decisively before looking back at you, “Gioia.”

Your eyes were wide as you looked back at the woman in front of you, was almost holding your breath again, your fear merging slowly into curiosity, you were truly lost for words now, managed merely incoherence. “I-I … scusa, I just…”

“No, there is nothing to apologize for, bambina, not when you are speaking up for my Santino like this.”

A shaky breath escaped from your throat and you could only feel Santino’s hand resting on your thigh, refusing to look away from his mother now, you were taken aback, could hardly comprehend what was happening as the woman nodded towards your drink and she lifted it at the same time as you did yours, giving a hesitant nod when you cheered with yours and downed it all the same as Santino, quick and rushed to ease your nerves.

“Allora” she nodded. “I think we’re done here.”

Santino rose to his feet, needed no telling twice and you missed his touch for just a second, watching him walk around to kiss his mother’s cheek before he placed the fur coat over your shoulders, his hand found the small of your back and he nodded to his father, the heat of his hand searing through your dress as he led you away.

“Santino” you whispered, pressing yourself to his side, your fingers shaking as you clung to his arm. “I’m so sorry.”

He lifted his eyes, the softness of blue and everything he’d ever admitted to you in his eyes threatening to bring you to your knees. “Don't you dare, bella” he said, reaching to brush your hair back gently from your face, “They like you.”

“We forgot to tell them about our engagement…”

“We’ll do it next time, principessa. Let me get you somewhere nice right now, you deserve it” Santino pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, his arm wound around your waist pressing you closer to his side.

My OUAT Rewatch -- S6E6 -- Dark Waters

You know, you learn LOTS of things when you’re not angrily blogging and screaming while watching a show that you used to love and now hate watch because the writers are hack asshats.

For example . . . . . did you know that Killybunny used to just go around murdering and killing people for shits and giggles? Did you know that he’s still punching people and putting them in the hospital and doing exactly what his snuggle boo Emma tells him NOT to do? And did you know it takes all of FIVE SECONDS for all of that to just be totes forgiven by both Emma AND Henry because he’s that awesome and wonderful?

Okay, you probably DID know all of this shit but . . . . . paralleled against a backdrop of Belle debating whether or not Rumple is permitted to see their child’s ultrasound because he’s soooooooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeviiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllll when the only time he’s bothered her since they returned is when a literal madman wanted to murder her . . . . . . . . yeah.

Rumple reading the script like “Who writes this shit?”

Well, Brigitte Hales for one but . . . . more on that later . . .

First of all, before more snark begins, I do want to comment on Belle’s dress in this episode because it is beautiful. SHE is beautiful.

I love this dress, and wow, what a nice improvement from the frumpy thing she was wearing two episodes ago.

But then there’s our continuing game show . . . . .

WHAT THE FUCK IS EMMA WEARING??????

They just get worse every episode, don’t they?

So . . . . . where to begin?

This was a Hook propping episode, and the basic summary of any Hook propping episode is: “Hook does something really shitty, probably murder or at the bare minimum physical assault, lies about something, and in the end all is forgiven because reasons and he’s SPESHUL!” Also sub-plot of every Hook propping episode: “Rumple is an evil evil that evils even though whatever he’s doing is either a) nothing or b) nowhere near as bad as whatever Hook was doing in this episode, but he’s still the evilest evil of all evils who should be shunned forever and ever amen.”

Is that an accurate summary?

So that’s the gist of this one, but other stand-out moments:

Henry telling the EQ that “Hook would never hurt their family” -- dude, he LITERALLY just tried to kill ALL OF YOU like what, a month ago? Two months? I don’t know, I’m as done with trying to make sense of this timeline as the writers are. But seriously -- there was a trip to HELL and everything because he tried to hurt all of you. You know, you were THERE. You wrote about it in your fucking book. JFC, this show, I swear.

Okay, let’s piggyback on that post I just linked. Because there IS some serious bullshit going on in the writers room at this point.

Y’all know how we dragged on Brigitte Hales from S6 onward as being a shitty, Rumple-hating writer. And how we dragged on her being up Hook’s ass on TWITTER and dragging Rumple ON TWITTER.

Well here’s the thing that you notice when you deep dive into the series and pay attention to shit.

Hales has been on staff since the START of SEASON FIVE. She was supposedly there to “replace” Kalinda, who left abruptly after S4 ended, literally after the Out of the Past graphic novel came out, which was the summer IN BETWEEN S4 & S5, when she gushed on social media about the beautiful Rumbelle story she wrote for it.

Well here’s the things boys and girls -- this is only Brigitte’s SECOND EPISODE as a writer. She only wrote ONE episode in S5, and it was way toward the end, and now it’s 6 episodes in before she gets to pen another one. Kitsowitiz have already penned TWO episodes this season, which also isn’t the norm in the writing pattern, and the last time they penned an episode at an odd point in a season was the end of S2 when they wanted to steer into a “different direction” because of the Neverland shit.

I have theories . . . . but I’m hesitant to post them because they’re NOT nice and there’s a 50/50 chance I’m right or wrong, but . . . . if you’re nosy . . . . shoot me a message (NOT on anon though cause I’m not posting it here, if you ask on anon I’m not answering) and I’ll gladly share privately, providing that you’ll keep it to yourself.

BTW, I was rooting for this to be the first episode to dip below the 1.0 ratings number . . . .

Also, the GQ stuff . . . . didn’t bother me. Because watching it . . . . Rumple had ZERO reaction. ZERO. He didn’t want it, he didn’t kiss back. And I can’t help but wonder if Lana and Bobby played this scene that way on purpose, ignoring whatever stupid shit the script said. If so good for them -- at least someone gives a fuck about these characters.

The thing that bugged me about that scene was Rumple referring to Hook and Henry as “The Pirate and his Son.”

I’m sorry, WHAT????? What kind of fucked up shit is that????

THIS is Neal’s Dad, BRIGITTE HALES, not the fucking Pirate Fuckboy! I know you weren’t there when Neal was on the show, and you and Goodman were probably in the corner of the writers room wanking on the Hook Standee when Souls of the Departed was being written and missed the Neal part, but please learn the show’s HISTORY and also Rumple would NEVER refer to his GRANDSON as the son of that STD-ridden douche canoe!

THAT was probably the most angering moment of this episode.

Belle was in character ISH at the end so 2 points for that I guess (I’m being generous here because I liked her dress and I’m that shallow)

20 points deducted for Hook centric

Only 1 point deducted for Zee because she was basically insignificant in this episode, as she always should be

3 points deducted for OOC Rumple for the “Pirate and his son” line cause NO fuck that noise

10 points deducted for Hales

Cant really justify adding or deducting anything else. I mean -- there are worse episodes out there and the fuckery in this one is pretty much par for the course so, whatever.

Hi, i found your post about the phrase-triggered PTSD through the Kiryu autism tag (i recently found out i have autism and thats thanks to finishing the yakuza series and realising people HC kiryu as autistic which is how i went onto be diagnosed, although i dont see it as a diagnosis i see autism in terms of neurodivergency but this is a tangent) I don't presume to fully understand your struggles, but I just want to say you're not alone and you don't deserve this. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet, but familial trauma is something I struggle with as well, where i've had my fair share of being emotionally abused for being weird and different (i also have adhd, that was diagnosed last year, i take medication and stuff its neat). You deserve much better, and what she is doing to you is akin to abuse, she is purposely putting you in harm's way and you should absolutely report her, like the others in the comments of your post have probably said.

I do not want to step out of line but this next bit comes from a place of personal experience and from what i understood from your message: she is intentionally inflicting pain on you because she is engaging in power play. she is deeply insecure and muddled and confused by her own emotional problems (also probably because of autism given that her son has asd/aspergers and that's highly genetic) and she's formed some highly maladaptive behaviours because of this. however, this neither justifies her actions, nor am i asking you to forgive her. instead, you should not avoid her.

i know this sounds counter intuitive, and again this is just from my experience, and i dont claim to think it'll work for everyone. but avoidance would be playing into her power play, and from what i can understand you dont want to engage in it, you just want to exist and be at peace. in fact, you shouldnt avoid anyone who tries to hurt you, they do not have your best interests at heart. power play is never beneficial and i have never seen it be used to help people or to propagate kindness. (ive heard BDSM is a healthy outlet for power play but that requires a lot of trust and people outside that context generally dont give you a safeword).

I cant offer a simple alternative to avoidance, but i can say that if either she doesnt matter to you or power play doesnt matter to you, then it'll be a lot easier to discount her words. you'll find that when she uses triggering phrases, it has less of an impact coming from her, just because you have the knowledge that she is not someone who wants the best for you, nor is she someone who loves you.

and i know this is even harder, but never stop being compassionate and understanding, from what i can tell you're an incredibly empathetic and understanding person. do not change that about yourself, and im confident that as long as you are sure of who you are, you'll get through anything. i think i'll end my unsolicited ramble there, and i hope to have been some kind of help. if you ever need to, please feel free to dm me. if you feel like this advice doesnt apply to you, you can discount it. either way im rooting for you and im confident you can get through this.

As for the terrible coworker, she actually got fired not long after I made those posts because, surprise, she wasn't just awful to me, she was awful to everyone. I have the satisfaction of knowing I outlived her at the company ^^

So my thoughts on this is that this moment is the beginning of c!Tubbo's downward spiral and a beginning of him snowballing in his grief and unhealthy coping. To state my biases i do think c!Tubbo wanting to arrest c!Sam in general was fine, but yeah it was really fucked up to do so knowing he'd starve and die especially when considering c!tubbo's earlier character's morality. Though, this is not crit of his character in terms of writing and thus this wont be tagged as character crit. (also i will not be covering the portions of this lore that i have comments on the writing about, just want to comment on this part)

This action i think marks the beginning of the change of c!Tubbo's morality due to his trauma and grief.

c!Tubbo has gone from being everyone's friend, to fighting in a revolution and dying for it, to being a spy for a revolution and dying for it, to being forced to choose a country over his friend due to c!Dream, to have lost his home and L'Manberg several times. All of this + c!tommy's deaths led c!Tubbo down a path of slight paranoia.

Snowchester was built as a place for people to escape the past and start anew, but it had walls and nukes ready for c!Dream. This arc also hallmarked the beginning of us seeing how little self preservation c!Tubbo had left. He wanted to be safe against c!Dream, but he also put a kill switch on the nuke. We also saw this lack of preservation in the Final Disc Confrontation. We had checkmate, built for intimidation, we had the interrogation room, built to find answers on the missing nuke. We had distrust and distrust and distrust. And then we had c!Tubbo focus on his family and he was doing quite well in terms of processing and coping and actually having a fresher start until c!Tommy died again. When he this occurred we had him fall back into work and logic, we had him go on a detective arc to find reasons. (note i cant remember when the nuke missing happened if it was before or after c!tommy's death...? my point generally still stands even if the order is flipped) We had the cookie outpost built to watch to observe. c!Tubbo has been hypervigilant for a long time and it only increased upon losing the nuke and losing c!Tommy.

And then c!Ranboo dies. None of his hypervigilance, his nukes, his weapons mattered. And then his son is taken from him. c!Tubbo barely has room to grieve, he keeps this inside as he has with all of his anger and standing up for himself and his grief. c!Tubbo realizes none of his values, none of his moving on, none of his care, and none of his strength matters anymore. No matter how hard he tries things end in death and violence. If he pushes back he dies, if he tries to have attachments in homes and people, he or they die. c!Tubbo is now slipping and he's sick of not standing up for himself.

And then he's approached by c!Techno, who is promising him help to get his son back, willing to put c!Sam in the prison too. And I think when c!Tubbo gets there he's desperate. He is no longer the guy who can just take his son back and forget and hope for safety. He's no longer the guy who can just have c!Sam stay out there. The culmination of losing c!Ranboo, losing c!Tommy, the paranoia of losing it all, and feeling out of control leads up to c!Tubbo arresting c!Sam not caring of the consequences or if c!Sam dies. He's sick of worrying of what will happen, because worrying and planning did not help him cope or achieve peace.

It's not to say his lashing out is justified, or a good healthy thing for him to do. I'm just saying this is why it makes sense to me that he threw away a lot of his prior morals to arrest c!Sam. Because in the past, i would've imagined he'd have only let c!Sam get arrested if c!Techno or c!Eret kind of made him. Otherwise, I think he'd be content to let him go.

Tbh I really want to hear what a c!Tubbo analyzer thinks him about him and The Revengers leaving c!Sam to starve until he permentantly died. There's critiques alot of people have had on the writing but for me it's very interesting because of what it says about his mental state, morality and what he's willing to do to someone depending on the circumstances of who that someone is and what they did. The thoughts, justifications, and emotions behind the action-- especially with what happened to c!Aimsey? There's a lot there
