How do you want to be known on Tumblr? Peonie or PR is fine 🥰
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
Way back when Choices first launched. My first book was The Freshman Series - book 1. It was so fun to play the books and get super excited for new chapters. I was waiting until midnight for new chapters. It was the first time I’ve played an app where I could make decisions and use diamonds for VIP scenes 😍
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I joined the Choices fandom back in 2021. I really missed Open Heart after book 3 ended (and left me wanting more) So I wanted to see if there were any more stories I could binge, and that’s how I stumbled upon Tumblr 🥰
3- How did you pick your blog name?
It may sound weird but it just came to me. Peonies are my favorite flowers. As soon as I thought peonie I quickly added rose and I was like that sounds so cool and it’s unique which I love 😍 And that’s how peonierose was born.
4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
Gosh. This feels like forever ago. When I first came on tumblr I didn’t post or reblog much 😅 (too shy to interact with anyone 🙈)
5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?
It has been 2 years in August this year since I’ve actively started writing fanfic 🥰 (I still can’t believe I actually made the leap and decided to post any of my stories).
6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?
You’re really going to make me choose? There are so many good ones 😱
I love to write for two of my favorite books which are Nightbound and Open Heart. Those are the ones I feel most connected to 🥰 Though I’d love to venture out and make edits or social media posts for other choices books too.
7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?
I wrote Robin‘s Tell-All from TNA, and it was the first fic I’ve ever shared. I really wanted to write a story from Robin‘s POV and how all that happened in TNA affected him and all the mistakes he made.
I wanted to showcase his inner struggle.
I remember how nervous I was to post something that I’d written. I thought to myself, will people even like my story? And if they do like it, then what? It was a great rush to see the reblogs, and the love for my first-ever posted fic.
If I could change one thing, it would probably be the moodboard 😅
8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
That is a tough question, because to me every fic I‘ve written has a special place in my heart. So every story reflects the feelings I’ve felt while writing my story.
Buuuuut if I had to choose: It would be a tie between By a Landslide (Bryce and Luna), the 3rd chapter of my Nightbound series - Unexpected and Go with the Flow (Luna & Bryce)
9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?
I actually didn’t think I’m a sucker for you, A Pinch of Pink and Blue…This one‘s for you,  Cinnamon Sugar and Wildflower, to be as well received as they did.
However, I think Bittersweet Symphony and Losing Game (1 / 4) could use some more love.
Both stories are amazing and I think you’ll love both my pairings. Luna & Bryce and of course Maxine and Adam.
10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
I am by no means a smut writer 😅 Maybe I’ll get there 😅 But I’d go with a mix between angst and fluff. I think a nice balance between these two would be good.
11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
Yeah. Tons of times. Take Luna for example. She has anxiety like me, and her appearance, such as her blue-green eyes and dark blonde hair, are like mine. But character wise we’re complete opposites. I wish I’d be more artistic like her 🩷
And Bryce is an Aries like me, and so many things he says or does make me go back, and I’m like, yeah, I would say something like that. Other than that, I’ve learned to give my characters real flaws and make them human, if that makes sense. But it does happen that they end up with character traits that are mine, and then I lean back and realize I’ve given my characters some of my weird and quirky character traits 🤣
12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?
Damn. Umm…I struggle with a lot of things. Finding the right words sometimes because English isn’t my first, not even my second language. I speak six languages, so it's sometimes hard to find the words to describe things.
Showing, not telling that’s another thing I struggle with.
That and if I have to keep a deadline to post something 🤣 Because it takes me forever to post anything I’m not 100% behind and happy with.
13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
How much time you’ve got? I have over 30 wips, that want some desperate attention, and I always keep adding new wips, whenever something inspires me to write 😅
I’ve found some new inspo for Somewhere Only We Know 🥰 Apart from that I’d love to take another look at my two AU‘s Amber & my Nightbound series. So we’ll see what wips I can manage to finish 😅
14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?
Sure. I’d love to get an outside opinion of my work and my characters that are so beloved and close to my heart 🩷
I actually tell people that I write fanfic and original work. And I’ve sent some samples their way and they liked it. Which makes me feel more confident in my writing (not saying it’s perfect, there’s always room for improvement, but it’s getting better).
As for which story to start? I’d say start with Only Love for Bryce and Luna. That was my first story of them and I consider it their start.
Then continue with Always & Forever and Go with the Flow.
Those were my first posted stories about Luna & Bryce and I think you’ll like them. It would give you a good understanding of my storytelling and my characters.
15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
There are a couple of authors I admire - Chloe Neil, Elise Kova, Nalini Singh, Rachel Caine (R.I.), Rebecca Yarros, and many more. They have influenced and shaped my writing, my fantasy world-building, and, of course building my characters. These authors know how to tell great stories, which makes me admire them so much.
As for fanfic writers who’ve inspired me? I’d love to give a special shoutout to one of my closest friends who’s been my beta reader for almost anything @annieruok She’s an amazing person and writer. Thanks so much for all the times listening to my ramblings about scenes and characters 🩷
16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
My Nightbound series hands down. That is a story that really deserves to be on the big screen or as a Netflix show. I’m not picky.
I’d love to see Grey, Gretel and Hänsel kick some ass. It’s a unique enough story to garner some attention 🥰 I’ve worked really hard to write it and it took me a year to come up with chapters, character names and so forth.
Also Somewhere Only We Know would be cool to see on the big screen. I’d probably weep from joy if any of my stories were ever developed as a movie or series 🥰🥹
17- Do you write original fiction?
Yes, I actually do. I have several original works in my Google docs. And just recently, I had an idea for another original story (I don’t feel comfortable sharing it yet) 🥰 But let’s just say it’s fun to come up with the characters and world-building and everything in between.
18 -  What other hobbies do you have?
Reading books, trying out new recipes in the kitchen. This also reminds me I need to exercise more 🤣
Taking walks & going shopping.
Hanging out with friends and binge watching shows and movies on Disney+ and Netflix. Just trying to  enjoy every single moment that every day has to offer 🩷
19 - What’s your favorite emoji?
It’s a toss between these three 🥰😍🩷 (What can I say I love pink 🩷 not just because of the new Barbie movie and the pinkmania 🩷)
20: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).
First, I wanted to say thank you to everyone. For being picked as writer of the month is a huge honor 🥰 Thank you to everyone who has ever taken the time to read my stories, reblog them, and leave some unbelievably nice words.
I’m very grateful that you guys took the time to shower me with love. Sometimes, I wonder what I did to deserve some of your nice words and love. I also wanted to give a special shoutout to some of the people who are very dear to me. 🩷
Thank you guys for supporting me. Being there for me - through great and not so great times - I‘ll never be able repay your kindness 🩷 You guys make me strive to be a better version of myself and I couldn’t be more happy to call you my friends 🩷

Old School X is a project interviewing X-Files fanfic authors who were posting fic during the original run of the show. New interviews are posted every Tuesday.
Interview with Rachel Nobel / Rae Lynn
Rachel Nobel, aka Rae Lynn, has 2 fics at Gossamer, but she’s written many more X-Files stories than that. You can also find fics by her at AO3 and various other archives. She’s one of the rare, special authors who’s posted numerous fic during the show’s original run and again in recent years. Big thanks to Rachel for doing this interview.
Does it surprise you that people are still interested in reading your X-Files fanfics and others that were posted during the original run of the show (1993-2002)? Absolutely. I joined a Facebook group for fanfic writers where someone recognized my name and asked about some of my stories that have disappeared from the Internet, and I almost fell off my chair. On the other hand, I go back and read original-run fanfic all the time - the Wayback Machine is my best friend for all the late great fanfic archives. Like fine wines, they get better with age! What do you think of when you think about your X-Files fandom experience? What did you take away from it? I was fairly young during the peak of the fandom - I was only 12 when I started watching the show and discovered the fandom online. A few years ago, right around the time we learned the revival was coming, I wrote an essay I called "How 'The X-Files' defined my adolescence," in which I wrote: "If you think about it, 'The X-Files' is a lot like adolescence: You start out thinking it's going to be a little hokey, NBD, and then you end up in its thrall, captivated and occasionally hugely let down. A lot of people behave strangely, and no one gets out unscathed. Mulder, in his own weird way, is the perfect mirror for an adolescent: He doesn't fit in; his life careens between being utterly consequential to the fate of the known universe and being completely pointless; he's socially awkward and can't quite nail it down with the girl of his dreams."
So for me, the fandom is inextricably bound up with adolescence, that feeling of vacillating between desperate loneliness and being on the verge of something enormously significant. Take romance: I was a bit of a late bloomer, and when all my friends were exploring their first relationships I was watching Mulder and Scully navigate this beautiful, complicated, soulful relationship without ever even kissing. That was deeply affecting for me as a teen.
Social media didn't really exist during the show's original run. How were you most involved with the X-Files online (atxc, message board, email mailing list, etc.)? I started out on mailing lists - there was an EMXC mailing list and one that I think was called X-Angst. [Lilydale note: There was a mailing list called XAngst Anonymous.] This was back at the dawn of the Internet when I only had 10 hours of AOL access a month, and I remember using what AOL called a "FlashSession" to log on, download all the fanfic from the mailing list and log off to read it. I vividly remember the excitement of watching all that new fanfic flood my inbox! Later on I was on atxc. During the long summer between "Gethsemane" and "Redux," it felt like fanfic was at its peak. There was a group of about a dozen women who got together (virtually) to discuss a work in progress by Lydia Bower called "Primal Sympathy." We called ourselves the "Primal Screamers," and we had our own website with fanfic recommendations and other discussions (it cracked me up to locate us as an entry on Fanlore.org). I was still in high school at the time and I was the youngest member; I felt like I had been accepted into a cool underground club. I worshipped these women, who were fanfic writers themselves. They taught me everything I knew about how to be a decent, respectful, enthusiastic consumer and writer of fanfic and fandom. [Lilydale note: I’ve talked enthusiastically about the Primal Screamers here before, including their fanfic primer.] What did you take away from your experience with X-Files fic or with the fandom in general? In the '90s, I would have been embarrassed to tell anyone I read fanfic, let alone that I was writing it. Now, I look back on it and realize how talented and smart and passionate we all were. It's something to be proud of. What was it that got you hooked on the X-Files as a show? The first episode I ever saw was "Shadows," which was on in reruns between the second and third seasons. I don't think "Shadows" is an episode that anyone today would consider thematically significant, but something about seeing those office supplies float spookily through the air - it wasn't like anything I had seen on television, and I wanted in. What got you involved with X-Files fanfic? I've always been a person who, when I am interested in something, seeks to learn more about it. So I guess I got online as a 12-year-old with this new interest and discovered fanfic. It was thrilling to find out that so many talented people were taking characters I loved and bringing them to life for me. When the screen faded to black each week and I wondered, "That's it? What next?", fanfic was always there to fill in the blanks and take Mulder and Scully to the next level. As a teenager, I was self-indulgent enough to think I had something to contribute, too. Most of what I wrote in the '90s would today make me cringe. I remember literally paging through the dictionary in search of erudite words I thought Mulder and Scully would say! But occasionally I'll feel brave enough to read an old story and I feel encouraged to see a spark: a turn of phrase or a fragment of dialogue that I still feel proud of. I write professionally now, but I've never written fiction that isn't X-Files fiction, so it's something that has really allowed me to hone my creative juices in a different way. What is your relationship like now to X-Files fandom? Sometimes I feel like the Statler and Waldorf of the fandom, like I'm sitting up in the balcony grousing "Back in my day...!" Because the fandom is remarkably robust, and I've gotten involved with it to an extent on Twitter and AO3, and now all these young whippersnappers idolize Mulder and Scully just as much if not more as I ever did! Were you involved with any fandoms after the X-Files? If so, what was it like compared to X-Files? Not really, no. I've of course consumed a lot of media since The X-Files that I wanted to discuss with others - I'm a huge "Harry Potter" nerd, and I was outraged when Netflix canceled "The OA" - but strangely I've never had the urge to read or write fanfic about anything other than "The X-Files." Do you ever still watch The X-Files or think about Mulder and Scully? Every Thursday night! I watch a chosen episode with a group of fans on Twitter and tweet about it - #tbtXFiles. That's great fun. There are episodes I've seen dozens of times over the years and episodes I think I only ever watched once, and it's always enlightening to watch them again with a certain critical eye. When I was a fan during the original run, I really idolized Mulder; I loved episodes where we saw him in all his cracked genius glory. Scully was a trailblazer of a character, of course, but I think the fandom has evolved over the years to give Scully her due. Do you ever still read X-Files fic? Fic in another fandom? I was fairly stunned when the revival came around and I realized that people were still writing X-Files fic, and that a lot of it was so good. So yes, I do read fic on Archive of Our Own. But my heart is always with the early days of fanfic. In the revival when Mulder says "I've always wondered how this was going to end" - that felt to me almost like a love letter to fanfic authors who had been trying to answer that question for 25 years. Surprisingly, I've never had the urge to read fic in another fandom. Every time I try, it just feels like I'm cheating on Mulder and Scully. Do you have any favorite X-Files fanfic stories or authors? My favorite author back in the day was Kipler. Her stories were just like real episodes of the show I could vividly imagine in my mind. I adore syntax6, particularly "20" and "The Birthday Stories," because of the way she perfectly and poignantly captures vignettes that span the entire series. Another favorite is Dawn and her "Blood Ties" series - I started out as a "NoRomo," and Dawn was one of the authors who made me believe Mulder and Scully could have a romantic relationship that really worked. And I always had a soft spot for Profiler!Mulder stories, so to this day I mourn the unfinished state of the great Kronos fic "Ascent to Hell." One fic I always come back to that captures profiling Mulder really well is "Domination of Lies," by cslatton. And then there are stories that I consider classics: "Corpse" by Livengoo, "Oklahoma" by Amperage and Livengoo, the "Revelations" and "All Hallow's Eve" series by Windsinger. What is your favorite of your own fics, X-Files and/or otherwise? I have a soft spot for a story I wrote called "Human Credential." I was attempting, a quarter-century after the first season of the show, to set a story in the very early days of the partnership (which these days is one of my favorite kinds of fanfic to read), and I felt like I nailed it. Do you think you'll ever write another X-Files story? Or dust off and post an oldie that for whatever reason never made it online? I have been doing both of these, as a matter of fact! Or in my case, they are oldies that made it online but vanished when Geocities went belly-up, for example, that I sometimes go back to and reshape. Do you still write fic now? Or other creative work? As the swallows return to Capistrano, I seem to always return to writing fic at periods of transition in my life. The first time I "retired" from fanfic, I wasn't even in college yet! If one can be nostalgic at 21 years old for something one gave up at 17, I was nostalgic for fanfic, and I picked it back up again in grad school. Then I became a teacher and a wife and a mom and years passed, and the revival seduced me back into it again. But the vast majority of fanfic I've written is firmly planted in the first seven seasons of the show - poor Mulder and Scully never seem to get to grow up in my stories. What's the story behind your pen name? I wrote under a lot of pen names over the years! When I first started writing fanfic, no one knew anything about Internet safety and it didn't occur to me that it wasn't wise to use my real name. There was a period when I would have been mortified if anyone discovered my stories under my real name - now, at least I can write it off as a youthful indulgence! When I finally grew into a more mature writer, I started using the name Rae Lynn, which is almost-but-not-quite my real first and middle names. Do your friends and family know about your fic and, if so, what have been their reactions? As far as I know, unless my friends and acquaintances have done some sleuthing, only my husband knows I still write fanfic. And he's never read it, though he's kind enough to give me a glazed-eyes indulgent smile if I ever talk about it. Is there a place online (tumblr, twitter, AO3, etc.) where people can find you and/or your stories now? I am xraelynn on AO3! I have about a dozen stories there - some of them I wrote 15 years ago and some of them are brand spanking new. Is there anything else you'd like to share with fans of X-Files fic?
Fanfic is a true labor of love. Fanfic authors don't write fanfic for money or fame; they do it because they love it. Sites like AO3 and Tumblr have made it so much easier to show your appreciation to writers (::gruff reminiscing voice:: back in my day, you had to send them an email, and now you can just click the "kudos" button!). I can only speak for myself, but I really thrive on that feedback - otherwise I'm just Mulder in his cramped hovel of a home office waiting for Scully to nag me to shave my beard. Every so often I think about the fact that there is so much high-quality writing about these characters I've loved for decades just available on the Internet for free and it feels like a true gift.

Hi hi! I just wanted to ask how often you update your fic! I’m really excited to start reading it, as I love stories over 100k and I am just so happy to find something so eloquently written! I am not looking forward to not having any more chapters to read, but I am a patient person! I just wanted to know what your schedule is like and if it is anywhere near the end? :)
Hiya :D So this is a bit complicated for me to answer. Not because of you, but because of how I'm working on Finding the Four-Eyed Samurai.
The short answer is, it generally takes me 1 month to complete a chapter. Chapters are around 10,000 - 20,000 words and usually require a lot of research, whether historical, atmospheric or simply going back and rewatching scenes from the anime that are referenced or alluded to.
But...since April 2020, I have posted 9 new chapters, a one-shot, and rewrote Chapters 13-19. So that's...17 chapters in 10 months?
I've also just finish rewriting Chapters 8 and 9 but can't post them yet. So that's...19?
*sweating* That's a lot more than one a month.
Basically, now, I write...A LOT. Every day, when I can. Whether it's actually writing, or researching, or planning. The thing is, my updates before 2020 were not nearly that fast... And this is where the problem lies in answering about my updates.
The earliest chapters were written 9 years ago when I was a young teen. And they are not written good. I probably have lost so many readers who read those chapters and immediately backed out. I'm still surprised so many people decided to trudge through it, to see my writing grow through the years. (It still needs work even now but...)
As of now, I will not be posting Chapter 46 until all the early chapters are rewritten. This will take me a couple more months. And then, they will all be posted together. Now, when i say "rewrite", I don't mean I'm just revising for typos, and rewording sentences to sound better. I mean I'm literally OVERHAULING the plot of Chapters 1-12. The only things that have generally stayed the same is Mugen and Fuu's dialogue. (So don't worry about losing out on a favorite interaction! Those don't change.)
To give you some context of these "OVERHAULS", I'll talk about the rewrite of the "ghost arc" of Chapters 10 and 11.
Original on the Website now (posted when I was 14): Chapter 10-11. Just two chapters and around 10,000 words total.. Complete fluff, in which Mugen and Fuu get stuck in the rain and stay at an abandoned manor that may just be haunted. That's it... No plot, no other characters, just fun Mugen x Fuu interactions.
Revision to be Posted in May, 2021: Four Chapters now spanning 8-11, totaling around 50,000 words. (five times as long as the original). Yes, Mugen and Fuu get stuck in the rain again. Yes, Mugen and Fuu stay in a haunted manor again. However, this time, there's plot relevance that makes it feel more like a Samurai Champloo "episode". Not just fluff.
-During Obon Festival in Edo, they meet with a Shugendo Buddhist monk named Taikan in a temple graveyard, when Fuu is paying her Obon respects to Shinsuke (who died in Edo in the anime Ep 7.) This monk is heading to Bancho, Edo to perform an "exorcism" on a Hatamoto samurai's wife with strange behavior. The manor is infested with black worms which are believed to be associated with this "demon" or "ghost". Because Mugen and Fuu are starving, and have no place to sleep in the coming downpour, Taikan offers to bring them along to become servants to the manor's owner: Aoyama, and his "possessed" wife Chouka. It becomes a sort of mystery/horror arc in finding out what is causing the bizarre incidences in the house, still full of Mugenx Fuu interactions too, of course. (Even more than before actually!) But it also gives some references to real history, and a more meaningful reason for the chapter's existence and the characters' growth.
That is just one example! The Kokoro and the Yakuza arc, and Mugen and Fuu remeeting also need to be heavily rewritten too!
Now, for your very last question... Is the story anywhere near it's end?
Finding the Four Eyed Samurai is planned to span 60 total chapters. After revisions, I will be back to writing the new Chapter 46. One posted every month, likely starting in July 2021. So that leaves only 15 chapters left. It seems like a lot... (which it is, considering that's roughly over 150k words left to write) However, in context to the whole story...that's only 1/4th left to go. I already have the rest of their journey plotted out...And, it's strangely sad for me to think about. Hm...After revisions and all chapters, FTFES might just be around 800k words??? Um???
But yes! UM.
I highly recommend waiting until May to read the early chapters, when they are all rewritten. However, if you've already managed to get past the first 12 chapters, then thank you so much for trudging through that... And I hope you will still go back and read the new revisions when they're posted in May or June. I put a lot of work into them, just as much as writing all-new chapters.
Thank you so much for the questions, and for your interest in my Fanfic!!! It means so much to me, and just inspired me to go into writing mode today :D
May I ask if you have already started reading it yet? And if you have, what chapter are you on?

Under Siobhan’s feet clicked on the stone bridge. She had been trying to sneak up on her friend but her shoes gave her away. She huffed under her breath. She hated the small heel on her shoes. It always made loud noises when she ran. She didn’t understand why her mother was so determined to have her wear dresses and fancy shoes. She’d rather run around in her brother’s overalls or shorts barefoot. Apparently, it isn’t ladylike; ladylike was becoming her least favorite word.
“These shoes are horrible. I hate them,” huffed Siobhan as she sat on the ledge of the stone bridge where her friend was fishing from. He kept his eyes on the water and chewed on his lip as he casted the line back into. Siobhan rolled her eyes with annoyance.
“I wouldn’t know. I’ve never worn shoes like that,” chuckled Siobhan’s friend. Siobhan had an urge to push him into the water. She could hear mother’s voice That’s not very ladylike. Little girls should be polite, sweet, and most importantly silent. She kicked another stone with the toe of her shoe.
“Lewis you are honestly the most annoying person in the world,” grumbled Siobhan. Lewis raised an eyebrow but then the fishing line tugged and commanded his attention. He reeled in the line to find a fish, it was the tiniest thing Siobhan had ever seen. She could hold back her laughter. Lewis scowled as he dropped the fish back into the river.
Siobhan’s smile slowly faded as she had yet to tell Lewis the big news, life changing news. She had waited until a week before she left to even mention it. Her parents had spoken of it for two years. She kept hoping they’d change their mind. She looked down at the water below her feet.  She admired the fact the river would be there day today, tomorrow and the day after that. She wished she could as be like the river. Always in the same predictable place.
“What’s that face for?” asked Louis as he re-casted after catching a metal can. Siobhan took a deep breath. She had to tell him. It was bad enough she had waited this long.
“I’m leaving,” blurted Siobhan. Louis curved his eyebrows trying to understand what she meant. He didn’t understand the meaning of what she had said.
“What do you mean?” Louis asked. Siobhan could feel her heart pounding. Her mind was racing with realistic and unrealistic outcomes. She wanted to escape but she didn’t have anywhere to go even if she had she knew she had to tell Louis.
“I-I-I’m moving,” stuttered Siobhan. Louis stared down into the river. He kept silently for a long time. He knew he had to let himself fully process it before saying anything. If he didn’t he would say something stupid, again.
“Where?” asked Louis. He refused to look up from the river. He couldn’t look straight at her to admit he was losing his best friend.
“America,” replied Siobhan. Even though, Louis was looking down at the water she could see his face fall. In all the ten years of her life this twisting and turning feeling in her stomach was the worse. It was really happening, wasn’t it? She was going to leave to move to a
Louis didn’t speak for several minutes. His nails dug into his palms as he put down the fishing rod. Catching fish suddenly wasn’t that important anymore.
“How long?” Louis asked.
“How long?” she repeated. She knew deep down what they meant but she didn’t want to say the truth.
“You know what I mean,” grumbled Louis.
“Dad first mentioned it two years ago during Christmas. I heard him talking to my mum one night after I was supposed to be in bed,” she said. The furrowing of Louis’s eyes, scrunching of his nose and the way the tip of his ears turns slightly pink she knew he was angry. Her eyes felt moist and stung.
“Two years….and you didn’t tell me until now. I-I-I can’t believe it,” stuttered Louis venom in his voice. Just the tone was enough to petrify Siobhan let alone the fact his blue eyes were stormy with anger and his expression hardened much like her father’s when he was angry.
“I’m sorry. I---just hoped it wasn’t true,” replied Siobhan. Her heart was pounding. She felt cold yet clammy. Her world was spinning faster than it ever seemed possible.
“Sorry! Oh, I’m sorry I kept the fact I’m moving to a different country from my best friend! Sorry doesn’t cut it!” snapped Louis. He couldn’t hold back his temper. Siobhan swung back over the side of the bridge trying to escape the tension. Louis picked up his fishing pole line and pursed after her.
“This is why I could tell you,” whispered Siobhan. Every word he said felt like the time her brother had punched her in the gut. It hurt so much.
“No, it’s because you are a coward! All you care about anymore is being ladylike! You are not my friend! You—you are just a stupid girl!” yelled Louis his face turning red from lack of breathing.
“You don’t mean that Louis,” said Siobhan choking on her words a bit. Her lips trembled. Part of her wanted to punch him, another part run away, and the last part wanted to cry.
“I do too,” snarled Louis. She broke down into tears running away fast as she could in the ridiculous shoes her mum had put on her. Siobhan couldn’t take it anymore and broke down into sobs.
Louis sat on the bridge until the sun had slid slightly down in the sky. His words sunk in. He leapt to his feed. “How could I say that? She’s annoying, yes. But she isn’t a coward. And she is my best friend.” He mumbled to himself. He started to run towards her house.
He ran to her house and knocked on her door. No one answered so he peaked into the windows. It was dark inside. He remembered Siobhan’s mum saying she was going to the store, so she locked the door when they left this morning. Where did she go then? What if she fell into a creek and gotten hurt? Her brothers were surely going to kill him if he didn’t find her. He took off into the woods looking for her.
The sun was hanging low in the sky when he returned to her house. He was certain he was going to have to tell her mother that he had lost their only daughter. They were certainly going to hang him from her toes from a tree or some other horrible punishment. He heard laughter from behind the yard. He crept behind the bushes to see Siobhan and her older brothers playing hide-n-seek in the backyard. He stood there a few minutes but slowly turned around careful to not make a noise. He rather not be beaten up by her brothers for making her cry and he had been a terrible friend. He kicked the dirt up in the road as he walked home.

This was a random write meaning no set plot or character development. I’ve always loved historical fiction. I grew away from the genre over time as it limited the topics I could touch upon based on cultural limitations of society at the set period. This is still my favorite historical fiction piece I’ve written. It should be noticed that Siobhan is Welsh but has been in England most of her life if that is not completely clear while Louis has lived in England his entire life. In the orginal Siobhan used a mix of Welsh and English but I edited out the Welsh recently because it took away from the story and came from goggle translate, as I’m not Welsh nor do I know the language, so I didn’t trust what it actually was. I’d seriously would love to talk to some Welsh people for some research for this story one day. Reading it again stirred up some ideas. I would only pick up this story again if I was able to find some great research sources to make me feel like I can do the topics I chose for this story justice. Anyways, I wanted to share this because I haven’t posted any writing since I took my fanfics down. It was too the point I created only extreme AU’s and at that point isn’t it just an original story using existing names. I know some ex-fanfic writers have to feel the same way.

Fic Writer Tag
Thank you for tagging me, @aliceu and sorry for the delay~
1. what fandoms have you written for (but do not currently)? None
2. what fandoms are you currently writing for? SKZ
3. how long have you been writing?
No idea. I used to write non k-pop fanfics when I was younger, but I quitted for quite some time and now I'm back. If it' from when I started... Not sure, maybe 10 years ago? But then got like 7 years without writing LOL
Less than a year in english
4. on which platforms do you post your stories?
Tumblr, and I had thought of moving to AO3 and sticking to there, but for now, I'll keep here
5. what is your favorite genre to write?
Romance, 100%
6. are you a pantser or a planner?
Depends on what I'm writing or the mood. For series, a planner. If it's an oneshot, sometimes it's just 'oh, gonna write this'
7. one-shot or multi-chapter?
Reading: Anything, as long as I have time/will
Writing: I like multi-chapter more, but I think I'm better on oneshots... Or at least that's what the notes say sauhshauuhsauhsa
8. what is the perfect chapter length in your opinion?
I can't read anything above 5K lately, I'm not even managing to read 2K words properly lol, so gonna say 3K, 'cause I'm random and it sounds like a good place between both.
9. what is your longest published story?
No idea, probably something like 11K?
10. which story did you enjoy working on the most?
The Three Lessons. I enjoyed writing fantasy for the first time, and I had a lot of ideas to write spin offs but didn't yet. I don't know if I'll too, and if I do, I don't know if I'll post it.
11. favorite request you’ve written and why?
Well, I only got Valentine's requests, The Eggy Date one and the Greedy boy one.
I enjoyed writing all of them, tbh. Maybe I'll go with 'Greedy Boy' because it was my first sub!idol smut, so it was quite challenging for me, and people seemed to like it, so it made me kinda proud.
12. are there reoccurring themes in your stories?
Yeah. I'm a sucker for jealousy/love triangles, male best friends that are overly attached, 'cause I believe we should show more friendly love between different sex, friends or enemies, teasing... Bad jokes can be a theme? SUHAUHSAUHSAUHSHU Well, I'm quite repetitive in my stories, I believe.
13. current number of wips?
I have like more than 15 ideas in my head, but I'm working in like... I don't know, I'm currently trying to finish one. I have things written for other 3, but got blocked. And I have things I have to fix and rewrite and complete... Like 4? So 8 WIPs?
14. three things you have noticed about your writing?
1) I always start with one short sentence
2) I tend to use a lot of adverbs to describe the way people said/did things
3) I like to put small sentences between paragraphs to be overdramatic lol
15. a quote you like from a published story?
I don't know... "How many green signs were dyed red because of your insecurities and fears?" I'll go with that one, 'cause someone liked "Red Light" today and I was checking it, and I like the meaning of this sentence and my intentions behind that oneshot.
16. a quote from an unpublished story?
“Consider it your birthday gift” Minho taunted “This will help you not to look at her, right?” He grimaced mockingly before standing up again “And I think purple suits you… It’ll match your ugly heart as well” With that being said, he turned his back to Seungmin, taking your hand on his and guiding you and Jisung away from them.
Just 'cause I liked imagining this scene when I wrote it lol
17. space for you to say something to your readers~~
Thank you for all of you! Especially to the ones who send comments, tag things, or send in asks. Talking to you guys make me feel happy, and it makes me stay in here while I can <3

So yeah, Arigatou Gozaimashita!
Alright, I won't hold you back for long, here's the Epilogue of "Karin"! Enjoy!xx
——–
The only time that Sasuke Uchiha had felt incredibly nervous was back when his father was mentoring him on how to use Katon. Though many years had passed, he could still vividly remember that heart-pounding, stomach-twisting sensation of not knowing if he’d be able to produce an impressive result as his father’s eyes were fixated on him.
And now, he could feel the same thing with what he was planning to do.
Although they didn’t really have the best father-son relationship, he knew that if Fugaku Uchiha was still alive, he’s the best person who could give him the most logical advice that he needed at the moment, considering that they were, in many ways, similar in terms of their personality.
That’s why absurdly, he wished his father was here to tell him how to execute his plan in a step-by-step manner like how he passed on to him the Great Fireball Technique.
Sasuke wasn't the kind of person who finds asking questions necessary, a manifestation of the superiority that tended to be his facade even in his most vulnerable state. But if only he could, there were lots of questions that he would like to ask his Otou-san.
How exactly did father ask mother to marry him?
Did he feel as insanely apprehensive as I am right now?
Did mother actually say yes on father’s first attempt to ask?
How many chances does a man have anyway, just in case...just in case the woman says no?
These, and probably a lot more.
With thoughts all over the place, Sasuke fidgeted on the couch as he watched Sakura make funny faces at the giggling Suika on the floor of the Hozuki’s living room.
She’s still so annoying, he couldn’t help but think. Doesn’t she have the slightest idea about how much he was falling in love with her all the more each day?
Observing Sakura with Suika has been one of his favorite past times ever since the redhead baby was born. It just showed him much of the pureness of her heart towards people, children in particular. And it only solidified his resolve that he has made the right decision – probably the best in his life so far – about spending the rest of his life with his female teammate in his genin squad.
He planned to ask her that special question today, when the opportunity arises. His brain has been trying its best to figure out how to do so ever since he came out of the hospital weeks ago. But being Sasuke Uchiha, there was no grand preparation and sappy romantic gestures despite the ridiculous suggestions of his best friend and the disgusting persuasion of his sensei for him to read his favorite book. All he knew was it was completely fixed in his mind that this woman was the one he wanted to marry.
And today was the day that he’s gonna make Sakura Haruno say yes to being an Uchiha.
So while they were waiting for the Hozuki couple to finish packing their belongings, he was on the alert for any open chance to bring up his question in the same way he has his guard up whenever a possible enemy is lingering around.
“Is something bothering you, Sasuke-kun?”
Tch. Why does she have to know him so well?
He tersely shook his head, eyes on Suika who was curiously staring at him with her tiny hand in her mouth.
“You know I’m always here to listen when you’re ready.” Sakura showed that breathtaking smile of hers that seemed to be reserved just for him. TCH!
“Oh, you want to go to Uncle Sasuke? Okay! Okay! Stop bouncing!” She then giggled to the kid, leaned to carry her, and then placed her on Sasuke’s lap.
Suika stretched an arm out to reach for his face, and for a moment, it was effective in drawing his gaze away from Sakura. But the head medic moved closer to wipe the side of Suika's mouth with a bib as the baby babbled incoherent words.
For a second, Sasuke's mind went blank, bringing him to a different timeline wherein quite the same scene was happening as if he was in a genjutsu. It was breathtaking. His heart constricted with longing for the surreal image to become a reality, despite it being far-fetched.
Years ago, he never imagined that he would have the chance of having a family of his own. And yes, even up to now, the idea was still something that his mind wrestled to accept as something that he deserved.
But then, his eyes met Sakura’s once more. And just like all the other times that he has met her gaze, something inside him changed and made him feel like it's just so easy to drop all his hesitations because of her – for her.
“Sakura...I–”
“Wow! I can’t believe it’s our last day.”
Their heads suddenly whipped towards the bedroom door as their redhead friend exited, followed by her husband who had just finished sealing their baggage in a scroll.
Half irked yet half relieved with the interruption, Sasuke sighed as he handed the baby to her frowning mother. It was a good thing that Sakura didn't realize he was about to tell her something important.
Maybe later, then.
Suigetsu shrugged. "Some things really come to an end, Karin."
“That’s sadly true,” Sakura joined in the conversation, approaching the Hozuki matriarch to pass on the baby's bib. “But the good thing is that every time a season ends, a new one is about to begin.” She smiled at the woman who has become one of her closest friends.
It was saddening to see their family leave, but she’s just so excited for them to finally reside in a place they could truly call their home. Besides, they deserved it after everything they've been through individually and as a family.
“It’s time to go.” Everyone turned to the Uchiha who was already standing by the door.
So with a toothy grin, Suigetsu placed an arm around his wife’s shoulders before saying, “Let’s go, Karin. I’m excited for you and Suika to see Hidden Mist.”
The walk towards the gates of Konoha seemed like a trip down memory lane. So when they finally reached that familiar arc that welcomes and sends off Konoha's villagers and visitors, Karin wasn't able to stop herself from handing over Suika to her husband and then throwing her arms as tight as she could around Sasuke.
"Karin. How many times should I tell you to get off me, especially because you're a married woman?"
The redhead chuckled at that, amused with how detached he still was – well, except for a certain pink-haired maiden. "My husband wouldn't mind though!"
Sasuke rolled his eyes but found himself glancing at the other woman with them, wondering if she would mind about the situation. However, he only caught her laughing cutely at the ordeal. He couldn't bring himself to scoff.
Pulling away for the Uchiha to be comfortable, Karin sheepishly said, "Thank you so much for everything, Sasuke. I'm so glad that you've found redemption for yourself. No doubt, you'll be able to help more people inside and outside this village. Like us. I will never forget this."
Karin realized that staying in Konoha was the happiest moment of her life so far. And she knew that despite her initial doubts about the idea, everything wouldn’t happen if her husband didn’t force her to join Sasuke in going to this place for her and their baby's safety. Yet she never expected that the decision would be life-changing for all of them.
Suigetsu agreed with a nod. “Sasuke, you've done so much for us. I owe my family’s life to you. I honestly can't thank you enough."
The former leader of Team Taka was stunned at the way his teammates expressed their gratitude to him. He never even thought that there's anything anyone should thank him for. If anything, it was them that he should've thanked for they've shown him a glimpse of what a transformed life and an assured future look like. But as usual, he was not exactly good with words.
Remembering how they've witnessed the majority of his worst years yet they're still here to stand by him, Sasuke's eyes softened as he gave the couple a simple yet meaningful nod in response.
The pink-haired maiden beside him was smiling the entire time. Sakura didn't know all the details of Sasuke's journey with Taka, but to see him developing such strong bonds even outside of Team 7 was something that she considered a breakthrough. It gave her joy knowing that this scenario was an assurance to Sasuke that he won't ever be alone anymore.
"Before I forget, please bring these pills that would help in keeping you from the cold during your travels," Sakura then handed a small pouch to Karin. "This is helpful especially for Suika since this would be her first exposure to such cold weather."
If Karin was able to stop her tears from falling while talking to Sasuke, she wasn't able to contain it anymore while staring at the pouch given by Sakura. This woman has done so much in bringing out the best in her without her knowing. And so, she also enveloped her in an embrace that's so rare for Karin to give, well, except when it's for her husband and Sasuke.
“Sakura, you’ve saved my life not just once. And then you've shown me the kind of life I never imagined I could still have. Thank you for trusting me and for believing in my potential.” Karin sniffed while Sakura gave her a pat on the back, unable to stop a tear from falling as well. And then the redhead pulled away, instantly wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand with a big smile at her senpai. "I'm not usually like this but—ugh! It's because of the two of you!"
At her loud remark, Sasuke raised an eyebrow while Sakura ended up cackling with a hand on her stomach.
"Whew. At least it's not me this time." Suigetsu snickered too, rocking the baby in his arms that was awakened by the voice of her mother.
Karin almost landed a punch to her husband's liquefiable head, but thanks to Suika's sleepy murmur, she opted to avoid violence to carry the baby again. "Ssh. I'm sorry, kid. Mama's a little different today because of your godmother and godfather." She stuck a tongue out at the two and Sasuke could only snort as Sakura continued to laugh.
"Ha. Sorry, Karin could be crazy at times, or…" The Hozuki patriarch paused and pretended to contemplate. "...actually, most of the time."
"Hey! You're lucky I'm holding your daughter!"
"Kidding, guys. I love that woman nonetheless."
Sakura and Sasuke didn't fail to see the tinge of maroon on the redhead's cheeks before she turned around to hide it. Uncomfortable with such things, the Uchiha scoffed at the sight of his old teammates. But then, he slightly jerked as something hit his side almost close to his ribs.
When he shot a sharp glance at the woman beside him, Sakura was just smiling innocently at the Hozuki's. Yet this doctor might need to heal something later, courtesy of her pointed elbow.
Suigetsu noticed the interchange and smirked a little, having high hopes that one day, these two would finally end up like him and his wife. He then grinned. "But really, the two of you have made a difference in our lives. We'll surely remember this and even tell Suika one day. Sasuke, you better visit us in one of Orochimaru's hideouts. And then bring Sakura-san with you."
"As if I'd want to go back there."
Scrunching her nose, Sakura shivered at the prospect of being in the aforementioned place.
Karin wasn't able to stifle her guffaw as she faced her friends again. "But we don't know, Sasuke, what if you'd eventually need to visit? And that would be nice! I want Suika to meet you both one day!"
"Tch. You'd really want your daughter to grow up in that dumpsite?"
"Oi! You kind of grew up there too!" Suigetsu teased.
Staring blankly, Sasuke fought the urge to burn the couple with his powerful eyes for the sake of their daughter. And then he said, "You better leave now. It's almost dusk."
"Fine then, yes, sir!"
"Take care of your family, Suigetsu."
"Always. And you, take care of Sakura-san!" There was a smirk on Suigetsu's lips as Sasuke remained silent at that. But he knew full well, Sasuke would cross time and dimensions and even give his life just to protect Sakura. This time, his strength would be used not for his own selfish agenda, but for the sake of the people he cared for. Just like what he did for Suigetsu and his family.
"Oh. This is real now, isn't it?"
Sakura reached out and gave Karin's hand a squeeze, looking down on Suika who was now awake after all the commotion with her parents and godparents. A giggle escaped her tiny lips upon seeing Sakura, making Sakura frown a bit as her green eyes met the baby's purple ones. "Yes, it's real now, Karin. But this ain't goodbye. See you soon." She smiled one last time before moving aside, waving a small goodbye as the Hozuki's finally exited the village hidden in the leaves.
Sasuke and Sakura silently remained on their posts as the two figures became smaller from afar.
Until Sakura murmured, "They're such a beautiful family, aren’t they?" Slowly, Sasuke tilted his head to gaze at her. And at that very moment, everything felt right. He took in her beauty as the setting sun made her face glow and the breathing wind made her cherry blossom hair sway in slow motion. It reminded him of those times in his redemption journey that he marvelled at the sight of Cherry Blossom trees because it made him feel like she was beside him, albeit far away.
Now that it became real, he thought of how wonderful it would be to have more peaceful moments like this with her. So as they stood in the place where he first broke her heart, he finally chose to drop all hesitations so he could do what he wanted to accomplish before the day ends, with high hopes that he could also give Sakura a new memory with him in this place.
"Sakura. Do you...want to have something like that?" The Hozuki's were already out of sight but his first female teammate continued to stare at a distance. "A future family?" She smiled, clutching her hands to her chest as she thought of the only man she'd want to spend the rest of her life with. And then she said in a soft voice, “I've...I've always wanted to." "I want to have that too...with you."
With wide eyes, Sakura turned to Sasuke who was now looking at the path his friends walked on. There was no trace of humor on his face, only an expression that showed solace and expectancy. “S-sas—”
"But Sakura...it is clear as day that you deserve the best. And that’s...that’s not me." Sasuke’s gaze fell to the ground. "I'm not even exactly a good man, so I'm far from being the best for you. There were so many things that I've done that destroyed and hurt so many people, including you and the ones that you care for. So even though I'd...I'd really want a future with you, I don't think you deserve someone whose past is as wicked as mine."
"Sasuke-kun, all those is exactly what you've said – a part of the past. My love for you is not based on what you've done or what you would do. It's simply based on you, Sasuke-kun. Just you. Anything else doesn't matter, as long as...as long as I know that you deeply love me." She paused. "Do you love me?" There was a momentary pause as he looked up at her dazzling eyes. But it wasn’t because he was doubting his answer, for Sasuke has always been sure.
For a second, he wanted to chuckle at the irony that Sakura Haruno could read words and situations, analyze lab tests and battle strategies, but she couldn’t read and analyze the feelings that Sasuke Uchiha has for her.
It was not her fault that he hadn’t made himself crystal clear yet though.
So he thought of the best way to vividly convey his answer to her question and firmly address her uncertainties about her standing in his life all this time.
He then settled in responding through the best and significant way he knows. Smiling a little, he gently tapped her forehead right below the diamond-shaped mark of her strength before saying, "You should know that by now.”
Just like the first time Sasuke did this, Sakura's eyes widened and her lips parted a little as her cheeks became painted with pink. The only difference now was that she stared back at him with recognition, eyes brimming with tears of none other than joy. To know that her love was reciprocated for such a long time already made her feel elated more than ever.
For so many times, she has almost given up in waiting. But it was true all along, being loved back by the man she has always loved was worth the long wait. She regrets nothing for even after everything, it all came down to this. Sasuke looked away as he remembered something. "That time you've been avoiding me because of Karin...it made me realize that I couldn’t stand a life without you." He muttered something like "Never again" and then faced her with his mismatched eyes focusing intently – lovingly – on her green ones. "If you’re willing to make things work together with me...Sakura, marry me." Sakura's tears finally fell upon hearing those last words that she thought she would never hear from this man. She didn't even have to contemplate on what she would answer for she immediately said, "I could never imagine loving and marrying anyone else, Sasuke-kun."
And then she tapped his forehead in the same way he did with her, making Sasuke's eyes widen and his heart flutter in a way that he never felt before. His lips curved into a smile as he pulled her into a long embrace that surprised even him. But as Sakura melted in his arms as if she had always belonged there, he felt completely relieved that he got the answer he had prayed to receive from her. Maybe this was what Suigetsu had felt when Karin agreed to spend the rest of her life with him as well, he thought.
The satisfied smile on Sakura’s lips after they pulled away made Sasuke’s heart skip a beat. It still felt like he was dreaming, the fact that he was staring at his wife-to-be. “Let’s go home.”
“Yours or mine?”
Sasuke slowly grabbed her hand, after all, he has every right to do so now. “Ours. From now on, you have to be comfortable around the Uchiha compound. I’ll just walk you back to your place tonight.”
As the two of them walked hand in hand back to the village, two pairs of eyes continued to watch them from the nearby trees.
“Heh, Kakashi-sensei, this is a lot better than the last time the three of us were here with Karin, ‘ttebayo!”

I’m not going to let you talk big and walk away free of punishment if you lose.” Without hesitating, Kevin asked, “Fine, I choose Trivial Pursuit. What are the stakes?” Allison put a finger to her lips and tilted her head, as if she was actually thinking of a response and didn’t plan this whole thing days ago. “Hmm, did you know the spirit store recently added fox themed thigh-high socks to their stock? They’ve become quite popular amongst cheerleaders.” This statement seemed to throw Kevin off because he just stared blankly at Allison until she continued. Andrew was not, however, an idiot. He could see where this was going. “How about whoever loses has to wear the socks for an entire school day; including morning and evening practices?” “Holy shit,” Nicky whispered. “You are one devious bitch.” Allison winked.

i’ve already answered 3 4, so i’m gonna answer the rest
1. What was your first fic and could you stand to reread it today?
my first fic i believe was an edgy sailor moon fic, written in a giant pink notebook i had when i was 12. the notebooks is thankfully gone. my first published fic was for a book series i read that turned really bad, i did read it a while ago just to see how bad it is and it is bad. it’s like under 100 words, super idk, cheesy you could call it. but i’m not bashing myself for writing it, because i was freaking 13 years old. and i barely knew english then, fancy vocabulary even less. so yeah it’s kinda embarrassing for 20 years old me, but 13 years old me liked it, so i’m okay with it
2. What’s your most recent fic and how far do you think you’ve come?
my most recent fic, i posted it just now is lovers, and i think i’ve come quite far. i don’t think my level of writing got significantly better, i still read other people’s fics and get blown away by the choice words, but i think my approach to writing got a lot better
i talked about it a little before, as much as taking prompts was a fun, amazing experience that was my starting point, there was a lot of pressure about it. when you take prompts, you’re essentially pleasing other people. you’re writing for them. and the more people who read your fics, the more you wanna please them. i started writing for janaya already knowing not to get swayed by validation, not to let it be the thing that drives me to write. because validation won’t always come, and i don’t wanna get shattered because of it
i often found myself thinking “if i don’t take prompts, will people still care about my writing? will i have anything to write about?” and the answer to both is yes. i obviously lost some readers once i stopped taking prompts, and along the way after. you know i post shit and people don’t agree with my opinions, that’s okay. i don’t wanna go back to the first chapter of knights of sunshine and see who commented and is no longer there because i feel like it will just make me sad
i’m not gonna lie and say that my original fics (that is, not prompts) get less notes/comments, because they do. i get wayyy less notes these days (but we are in a hiatus). i think most of the comments now are from my friends, but that’s okay. i love my original ideas, i love how i’m truly writing for myself, and idc if it causes me to lose readers
if you wanna talk about some real development i’m really proud of, i started posting short one shots that i love. i never did because i feel like people won’t read a fic with a low word count, but i love my short scenes more than anything
so basically, i learned how to let myself breathe, be okay with the number of notes/comments i get, and just chill about it
10. Have you ever written for a fandom without reading other fanfic for it?
uuuhh, i honestly can’t tell? idk if i never read a janaya/braime fic before writing about them. probably not. i do try not to read fics while i’m writing because i don’t wanna accidently copy someone’s work
thank youu for all of theseee

The Empty Space Next to Me
Really not sure about this post-endgame fanfic. Let me know if I should continue.
Why Katherine? Because it means 'pure' and it's a major focal point in this fic, or more like the starting point of it.
chap 2 (x) / chap 3 (x) / chap 4 (x) / chap 5 (x) / chap 6 (x) / chap 7 (x) / chap 8 (x) / chap 9 (x) / chap 10 (x)
Chapter 1
The place reeks of gloom and forebodes the worst in every aspect of it. Steve has just appeared on the dark dunes that have been haunting his dreams for the past weeks. The eclipsed sun peeks through the stifling clouds.
He warily looks up at the mountain towering over Vormir. The amber light of the last stone in his pocket glows through the fabric.
After a long and dreadful ascension, Steve comes face to face with the floating red creature that Clint had described to him many times. Except he is a familiar face from his past.
“Steven, son of Joseph,” Red Skull says.
His somber specter floats down from the sky. Steve clenches his fist.
“Schmidt,” he grits his teeth.
“That was in another lifetime. I am no longer that person — I have changed. And so have you.”
Steve probes him coldly.
“But I never thought our paths would meet again,” Red Skull continues. His eyes glance down at his pocket. “You have come to return the Stone.”
Steve stands up square, both fists clenched.
“That is one reason. I’m here to get her back.”
Red Skull knows who he is talking about. He guides him up the trail to the sacrificial altar. It looks just the way Clint described it, but his description doesn’t come near as frightful as it is to his eye.
Staring down at the worn stone, it seems he can see the print of her boots as she ran over to the edge. His eyes begin to fill with water. He looks away and shakes his head.
He takes a deep breath in and turns to Red Skull again. “Where is Natasha?”
“The sacrifice required by the stone cannot be revoked.”
“Bullshit.”
“Her soul now belongs to the stone. It has been cleansed and made anew before departing.”
Steve shakes his head as he comes to the realization that his worst nightmare is becoming true. “It can’t. It can’t. I am bringing the Stone back to have an exchange.”
“The sacrifice made is permanent.”
“We’ll see about it,” Steve mutters decisively.
He lifts Mjolnir, summons thunder and hits the specter with it. The thunderbolt jolts through him like through air and dies out.
“Your effort is vain. I cannot be fought just as I will not fight you. I am simply serving the Stone.”
But Steve can’t hear it. He stepped on the time machine with the strong determination to bring Natasha back with him. It was the only thought his mind could grasp onto not to fall into despair. The certainty that she could be brought back is what made the past few weeks more bearable.
He summons thunder again and hits the specter, again and again, but always unsuccessfully. Physical exhaustion, coupled with mental weariness, eventually get the best of him. And as he realizes that he has failed in his mission, he collapses to his knees. The heavy silence falls over his shoulders and he stares down at the floor. He sees Clint’s broken arrow on the ground, only token of their visit and her sacrifice.
He clutches it in his fist and tears roll down his cheek.
Natasha is gone.
The sadness he feels and the bitter memory of his failure near self-loathing. Since he has returned to the present, he hasn’t found sleep. The memories of Natasha haunt his nights. His brain goes over the same thoughts over and over again, the most obsessive one being he hasn’t done enough to try and bring her back and that he should go back to fight Red Skull.
But Sam and Bucky are always there to talk him out of it. Both seem to genuinely believe has tried his best but, to him, it feels like it wasn’t enough.
It is a bright, sunny day outside and he is sitting on the edge of his bed, staring blankly at the black blazer hanging on the backrest of the chair in the corner.
His eyes flicker to the mirror standing in front of him and he sees his pale, haggard face staring back at him in revulsion. The perfectly ironed white cotton shirt and black trousers can hardly conceal his disheveled look. The thin black tie is hanging loose around his neck. While dressing up, he had to take a break.
A knock on the door echoes across the dead room. Bucky steps through, fully attired, his hair neatly slicked back.
“It’s nearly time,” his best friend softly says, hands in the pockets.
Steve looks down at the floor again. “I’m not sure I can do it, Buck.”
Bucky walks up to him, his body language and expression bear the solemnity of the day. Today is Natasha’s funeral.
Steve had refused to have a funeral because there was no reason to believe she was gone. Tony’s ceremony took a toll on him, but he stood up strong fueled by the hope he would bring her back.
After the ceremony, he had gone to Clint and shared his intention to go to Vormir for her. Clint had not been as enthusiastic as he had expected. His sorrow did not resemble his to the least as it already bore the first traces of mourning. But he could not mourn; mourning would have meant accepting she was forever gone. He forbid Clint to hold a funeral. Clint had reluctantly agreed.
But when he returned without her, Barton immediately set a date.
Nothing big or public — like she would have wanted— but something so her family could gather and say goodbye.
Although Steve can see why it is important to have it, he is not sure he is fine with the idea of it.
“I know it’s hard,” Bucky says. “But saying goodbye is what you need right now.”
He lifts his fist up to his chin. “What I need right now is Natasha. If I go…,” his voice breaks, “If I go it means I have given up.”
He looks up at his friend with red eyes.
Bucky nods slowly. “I know. But she would want you there with the rest of her family.”
One of their last conversations in the command room plays again in his head. “I had this family,” she said with fond sadness.
Bucky gently presses his hand on the back of his shoulder to make him stand up. He holds the two ends of his tie and meticulously ties it. He adjusts the knot at the base of his throat and looks at him.
“You got this,” he reassures him.
Steve and Bucky join the gathering by the lake and are immediately met by Sam bearing a sullen expression. He shares a rapid glance with Bucky then walks over to Steve and lays hand on his shoulder.
Hulk is sitting along with Rhodey on one the benches, his arm still in a splint. Clint is farther away with his family — the children are standing quietly with sad looks — glances in his direction then resumes conversing with Laura. Wanda, who is staring at the lake, turns around and comes up to Steve. She opens her arms and holds him in her arms. She seems relieved to see he has come.
The gathering is outrageously small — part of him hates that only a few people are attending when her sacrifice has helped to bring trillions of people back.
Clint is the first to speak with tearful eyes but with a peaceful and collected tone of voice. Then Wanda with the heavy and accepting voice of someone who has gone through too much loss. Banner speaks next then the audience turns silent.
All are quietly waiting for him to say a few words— he can feel some glances on him. Sam is sitting beside him, a little tense. He is about to stand up to divert the attention away but Steve stops him with a gentle pat on the arm. He gets up and walks to the front.
“Natasha is one of the first people I met when I arrived here. And she practically never left my side from then on…because she knew solitude well enough to know how dreadful it can be. So over the years, she successively became a teammate, then a friend, a confidante, an ally, family —sometimes all of these at once—, without I ever needed to ask her. That’s who Natasha is,” he says with a small shrug. “She selflessly soothes the people she cares about and never asks anything in return. And it’s why the exchange for the Stone was so painfully successful. Nat is…was…the soul of this team. Pure and giving.”
He looks away for a moment as he tries to hold back his tears. He has lost the woman he loves but it took him too long to realize. He made the same mistake of waiting too long again. “Natasha was all of these things for me the past 11 years because she didn’t want me to be alone, and now that she is gone, the empty space next to me is excruciating. I see the absence of her everywhere. But I know what she would say to me. When I told her we should both get a life, she told me “you first”. It seems like a Sisyphean task right now but after what she’s done for us, the least I owe her is to honor her dare.” He pauses with a sad smile and looks up. “So Natasha, wherever you are, I hope you have found peace and I promise I’ll try my best to move on.”
And so he tried to move on.
Weeks go by, and then months. Life goes back to some kind of routine. For him, it mostly consists of work and casual drinks with Sam and Bucky from time to time. He laughs at the jokes, but only at the surface. He tries to ignore the empty seat at their table. He tries to mute the ghost chuckles that echo through the compound. Sam and Wanda took care of packing her belongings and empty her bedroom, but he doesn’t let anybody use it. And he has kept her pointe shoes. They’re hung at the edge of his bedhead. They’re worn out but he can’t bring himself to wash them up — he is afraid it will spoil them, strip them of their history.
It has been four months since Thanos was defeated and the world has changed greatly. The Avengers aren’t as needed as they used to be. The few disturbances are easily handled by authorities or with the intervention of a single Avenger.
He monitors things but only on paper. What it really means is him giving obvious instructions and waiting for the update.
A couple of months ago, he began taking on cooking classes. His skills have improved — Nat would probably be proud.
“Captain Rogers,” the software calls. Something that has become rarer and rarer.
“Yes, Friday? Any issue somewhere that would need our intervention.”
“No, Captain. But there have been a couple of similar reports by civilians that have caught my attention.”
“What kind of reports?” Steve asks.
“It seems they have had an encounter with someone resembling agent Romanoff.”
He frowns. “Probably erroneous reports. Why are you sharing this with me?”
“I had a look through the local data in search of more evidence and found something.”
He freezes and gulps nervously. “Show me,” he says.
The holographic screen opens and he falls in his seat as he clearly identifies the woman strolling down the street in the CCTV footage. She undeniably looks like Natasha. She is wearing a casual top with jeans and is smiling.
“Where and when?” he asks.
“Four days ago in a small town of Louisiana.”
He has a thousand questions right now but he can hardly hear over the sound of his pounding heart.
“I have to go and clear this up.”
“Shall I warn agent Barton and the others?” Friday asks.
“No. Not until I am sure it is her. I don’t want to give anybody false hope.”
He runs to his room and quickly packs up a bag. “Tell the team I’ll be back in a few days.”
“Yes, Captain.”
He goes to the garage, gets in one of the cars.
He knows he shouldn’t, but he can’t help himself to hope it is Natasha. The engine roars as he drives off.
Steve enters the small county with apprehension. The place is so rural and remote that the cap and sunglasses he is wearing to remain anonymous are unnecessary.
He soon walks along the street where the woman looking like Natasha was caught on CCTV. He starts asking around about her with a photo of Natasha. But nobody seems to have seen her. She is like a mirage.
An elderly man eventually takes a second look at the picture Steve is holding.
“Oh yes, I have seen her before. But she doesn’t live here. She works at the Millers guesthouse 30 miles from here.”
“How long has she been working there?”
“I don’t know. More or less 3 months.”
“Do you know her name?”
The man shakes his head no.
“Are you sure it was her?”
“Oh definitely, she isn’t the type of woman you forget.”
Steve jumps in the car and drives out the town. Nearing the destination, he enters an area filled with nothing but woods, lakes, and meadows. Nothing makes sense and he doesn’t understand what Natasha could possibly be doing here.
He parks his car in front of an old, big house with worn white paint.
He gets out of the car and a Golden Retriever comes running to him, wagging its tails then barks as if to make the arrival of a visitor known.
The door of the front porch opens and a slender figure steps out. The woman is wearing a white floral dress with leather flat shoes. Her bright red hair, tied up in a ponytail, shines under the bright rays of sunshine.
He stands still, feeling his legs thaw under him.
Natasha — because he knows it is Natasha — gracefully walks down the stairs, across the lawn to him. She has a little smirk on as she looks him up and down with a mildly curious expression. The dog runs up and around, waiting for his reward. She pets its head softly and opens her palm to give it a candy.
She finally comes to stand in front of him.
“Hi,” she says with a friendly smile. She patiently waits for him to voice his request.
“Natasha?” he murmurs.
She smirks. “Almost. Katherine,” she corrects with an amused smirk.
Her aloofness surprises him. As amicable as she is, her interaction lacks companionship.
He thought he lost her but she is standing right here in front of him, looking well. He reaches over and holds her in his arms tightly.
Her arms do not hold him, instead, her palm gently push his waist away but he does not notice. He looks at her face again — because he needs to — and he leans in to close the unbearable distance between them.
He is suddenly flipped backward and falls harshly on his side. Natasha is hunched over him, her palm hardly pressed on his chest. She looks confused and downright annoyed.
“I don’t know who you are and where you come from but this isn’t how we greet strangers here.”

600 Followers: Meet The Writer
Welcome to another Meet The Writer Q&A! We reached 600 followers! Yay!
We’re grateful to all of you who continue to share your work with us and support the fanfic authors of the fandom. As usual, a writer was randomly selected to share a little something of their work with us. And today the writer is one of our mods, congratulations Elsa!
Tumblr media
Blog: @JerZwriter Name (and/or petname): Elsa Birthday: February Current residency: USA Languages you speak: English and a little Spanish Masterlist/AO3/Choices Fanfic Archive: Masterlist , AO3
1- Is there a meaning behind your url name?
When I joined the fandom/started writing fanfic, I was SUCH a newbie and did so many dumb things. I had no idea what to do regarding a name, so I went with JerZwriter, because I’m from New Jersey, and I’m writing. 😊
2- When did you start playing Choices? What’s the first book you played?
I started playing about four years ago, and the first book I played was The Royal Romance.
3- When did you decide to join Choices fandom?
I guess about two years ago when I joined some groups on another platform. But I didn’t become very active until this last summer.
4- Go back to your archive and tell us what was your first post on your Choices blog was about.
It was the first chapter of my series, Delaying the Inevitable. Looking back, I can’t believe I took on such a big project as my first attempt at writing fanfic, but I don’t have any regrets. It’s been a great learning experience.
5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Five months.
6- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?
See question number four; that’s the one! It’s actually a very long series that is still a WIP.  I’ve always thought of it more like a TV show with episodes than a novel or book. I put out a chapter a week, and I’m currently on chapter 25. It probably has 5-7 chapters left, and it will (finally) be over. Writing this story has been such a fantastic experience. Some of my readers are very engaged with it, and I love our weekly conversations about it.
7- What are your favorite Choices books to write about?
So far, the only one I have written for is Open Heart, which is my absolute favorite Choices book.  But I may want to try writing for others in the future.
8- What is your specialty as a fanfic writer?
That is a tricky question because I feel like my readers could answer it better than I can.  But I would probably say angst because that’s what people associate me with the most, which is funny because I actually write more fluff than angst, but I guess the angst sticks with them.  I get a lot of feedback that my readers really feel my characters' emotions, which means a lot to me.
9- If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
That is an even more challenging question because balance is a key to being a good writer. Switching off really helps me when I need to feel creative. Also, my favorite thing is angst with a happy ending, which kind of becomes fluff then, doesn’t it? If I had to pick, I’d say angst because I think it’s where I’m strongest, and I always want to dig deeper into the character’s emotions. I love fluff, but it doesn’t satisfy me (as a writer, not a reader) as much. I have also written more smut since starting, and for some reason, people tend to like it, but I’m still feel like hiding under my bed a bit every time I post it.
10- Do you ever recognize yourself in what you write?
I try not to do that. Especially in fanfic, where I want to stay as loyal to the characters as much as I can, but I think it’s impossible for parts of me to not slip in there at times. Of course, the place where it’s most likely to occur is with my MC. While there may be elements of me in her, she is by far not “like” me at all.
11- What element of writing do you struggle with most?
I think setting. I think I’m better at describing feelings than I am at describing things.
12- Is there any neglected work of yours you wished you would finish?
When the Bough Breaks, and I have promised myself I will finish it before the end of the month. It was a very emotional story to write, and that, coupled with DTI, just got to be a little too much for me, so I put it aside. It bothers me that’s it is not completed, so again, October 31st is my deadline!
13- If someone you know in real life who isn’t involved in fandoms asked to read your work, would you let them?
It depends on the person. I am not remotely ashamed of writing fanfic, but I wouldn’t share it with anyone who would be judgmental of the fact that I do. Recommendations would also depend on who it was. I have a non-fandom friend who asked to read any smut I write, so if it were someone like her, that’s what they’d get. I’d probably give them All Yours or Their Plus One. If someone had a lot of time on their hands, I’d recommend Delaying the Inevitable. But if they wanted a quick read, A Second Chance or maybe Just Until Midnight. However, some of the upcoming chapters of my Tobias & Casey AU would probably be on the list too.
14- Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
Hmmm, hard to give a published author because I have so many that I adore, but I wouldn’t say they influence my fanfic writing. However, Jennifer Weiner does come to mind. I love her writing because it’s real, funny, and imperfect romance, and I strive to bring that into my fanfics. As for fanfic writers, I have to go with two women who inspired me to try doing this in the first place. I read them before I ever got a Tumblr account, and I could honestly feel just how     much they love their characters. Then, when OH ended, it was inspiring to see how they were keeping the story going, keeping the fandom alive, and I wanted to try to do that a little bit myself, even if I never do it as well. So, Bree and Bex @jamespotterthefirst and @bex-la-get), thank you so much for leading me here and thank you even more for your support and encouragement since I have been writing. You have no idea how much it has meant to me. While I was unfamiliar with her writing before I came to Tumblr, I fell in love with @alwaysmychoices’s works. She makes me feel what Charlie feels in my soul. After reading a few compelling pieces, the feelings stayed with me for days. I try to bring that into my writing, but I will never do it remotely as well.
15- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
Delaying the Inevitable, without question.
16- Do you write original stories?
Yes. Mostly short stories, but I have written one larger work that I would love to update someday. I am in the process of (trying to find time to) write a book based on friendship, where romance plays a secondary role. It’s not autobiographical, but it is based on me and a longtime friend who recently died. So, while it is full of warm and funny moments, it is quite angsty, but with a very positive message.
Thank you Elsa for participating! And thank you who got this far for reading! Reblog to share your appreciation for @jerzwriter! 😄

My 10 Favorite Posts, So Far
Well, tomorrow makes 5 years of blogging as natsubeatsrock. It’s been quite a crazy 5 years and I’ve made a number of crazy posts in the time between starting this blog and today. To celebrate I wanted to talk about 10 of my favorite posts over the past five years. This list isn’t necessarily ranked from least to most favorite, but there is one post I can call my absolute favorite.
Let’s go!
Honorable Mention: The Rewrite of Fairy Tail: Part 16 (Lisanna) [originally posted March 27, 2019]
As an honorable mention, I want to shed some light on my favorite post from last year. I started making this post months before the series was on the verge of ending. As I was working on this post and decided to work on rewriting Fairy Tail, I started to rework this series as a defense for keeping Lisanna in the series, as opposed to cutting her. This has been a theme in a lot of the posts I’ve made about Lisanna since a post I made before that one and I do plan to talk about that in the future.
#10. My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts on: Ships/Zervis [originally posted October 25, 2015]
This is the earliest post in my top 10 and it shows. Around this time two big things happened: I made a post on August 31st called My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts on: Juvia and the fandom exploded over Zervis, due to the revelations in canon. I intended to make that first post a part of a series and this was too big of an opportunity to pass. I remember that writing this was ridiculously easy for me. In fact, it’s one of the shortest posts for me to draft and upload with its relative size.
While I’m not as proud of how my writing prowess shines in this post, almost everything I’ve said in this post has become my philosophy on ships since posting it. My thoughts on shipping fandoms? Check. My thoughts on canon weight of ships? Check. My wishy-washy feelings over Zervis? Check. For a long time, this was my favorite entry in this series, but we’ll ge tto that soon enough.
#9. Bye, Bye Lucy: Part 4 [originally posted May 20, 2017]
A lot of you may be shocked to see this post on the list. “Bye, Bye Lucy“ was a series of posts I did explaining all of the issues I have with the infamous subset of fanfics that has Lucy get kicked off the Strongest Team in favor of Lisanna, resulting in her leaving Fairy Tail. I had a ton of fun working on this series. So much so, I actually ended up writing a story based on the idea I posit in Part 3 of this series, which I released earlier this month. But, individually, Part 4 is my favorite individual post in the series which focused on the idea of Lucy leaving the guild over the whole situation.
Originally, this whole series was going to be one really long post at just over 10,000 words. However, around the time I was working on the part that would become this post, I realized that these stories fail with each successive plot point important to this trope of story. At this particular point, any stories lose me as both stories inspired by Fairy Tail and as their own type of stories. No good story that I know even tries to play with these tropes has Lucy actually leave the guild, even temporarily.
#8. Why I Still Ship Nali (Even if Most of the Rest of Fandom Doesn’t) [originally posted March 1, 2020]
I didn’t want to add too many posts from too recent on this list. As much as I think my current writing is my most consistent writing, it would be hard to say that too many of my posts now are at the same level as many of the posts coming up on this list. But, I’m honestly glad that I made this post, especially considering some of the things surrounding its creation.
About three months into my blog, I made a post called “What I Need to Stop Shipping Nali (and why I still do)”. Around the time I was going to post it, I guess someone made a post questioning why people would still ship Nali. It’s become one of my least favorite posts and I’ve felt it desperately needed to be updated for a while. I decided to tackle an issue I’ve had seen in much of fan interpretations with Nali: doing nothing past Edolas with Nali. I wrote the first draft out months ago and waited for a good opportunity to type it out. When I got the hate messages, that felt like as good a time as any. Speaking of which...
#7. My Response to Anon-san [originally posted March 31, 2016]
A bit of backstory may help with this one. I posted “My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts on: Lisanna” on Easter that year. I check my phone coming out of my church’s night concert and I got the two messages I respond to in this post. When I first saw I got messages, I was worried because that was the first time I ever got negative anon messages. But when I read them, I knew I needed to talk about this as my 3,000th post on this blog - a milestone I was on the cusp of approaching when I got the messages.
While I like the precedent my response seemed to set for my dealing with this type of stuff, the reason this post is here that I legitimately love the messages I was responding to. Every now and then, I read them to myself just to remind myself they exist. I’m not even sure why I got them in the first place. They don’t even seem terribly connected to that Lisanna post. While complaining about fandom has been something I’m apt to do for a number of reasons, I can’t imagine which post got on their “nevers”. But believe me when I say that I am feeling very cooling about the fact that I did.
#6. My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts on: Nalu [originally posted July 9, 2016]
I’m sure this one isn’t much of a shock too many of you. Around the time I made this post, the “anti-Nalu“ community was very different from how it is now. I had made a couple of posts about some of the issues I had with the ship and its fandom, but nothing on this scale. As a part of Fairy Tail month, I figured should try to explain everything I saw wrong with both.
Even as I wanted to do this and made plenty of similar posts before this, the thought of backlash terrified me. I made sure to set it up to post when I knew I’d be away and wouldn’t be able to see how it was received. When I finally did see the responses to this post, all of them were positive and from people who agreed with me. It’s become my favorite post in the series and still seems to serve as a great primer for people who don’t ship Nalu.
Though I’m kind of sad that a lot of the stuff I talked about in that post regarding the development of Nalu and fandom habits haven’t changed almost four years since I first posted it. When I went to make the sequel for this post, I was shocked how little fandom changed and how stuff inside and outside of canon seemed to embolden fandom to be worse about other actions over abour 18 months. Though, I didn’t hate Nalu when I made this post, even as I stopped wanting to ship it around that time.
#5. Opinion I’ll Probably get Stoned For #100 [originally posted April 29, 2016]
I really have to get back to making these. “Opinions I’ll Probably get Stoned For” was the series I was known for starting less than two months into making this blog. It’s a series where I drop spicy takes ranging from Sweet Bell Pepper to California Reaper. I’ve gotten into it with fans over more than a few of the posts in this series. However, my favorite of the series is one of the longest editions in the series.
Months before posting this, I remember seeing one of my favorite Graytear bloggers get into trouble with Gruvia shippers. One point brought up that particularly pissed me off was the moment that Gray was about to used Iced Shell against Silver. According to the Gruva shipper, the fact that the panel remembering Juvia is bigger than the panel remembering Ultear showed enough of Mashima’s priorities. This argument literally made me sick to my stomach. For months, I’d privately joke that this proved the exact opposite: Gray went through with Iced Shell because he remembered Juvia.
To celebrate hitting the milestone of 100 posts in that series, I decided to make a longer version of the series and explain my thoughts in depth. As soon as I had the idea, I knew that had to be the one. My favorite thing about this post is that, despite clarifying that I’m not terribly serious about this argument twice in the post, I actually got blocked by a Gruvia fan over this post. I guess they didn’t see it as that funny of a joke. Weird how that works.
#4. Nali Week: Scars and Unkept Promises [originally posted July 24, 2016]
Every once in a while, someone will make the remark to the effect of “People should stop complaining about the ships they don’t like and make stuff for the ships they do like”. Thank goodness no one has actually said that in regard to my posts. As much fun as I’ve had over the years complaining about the stuff I don’t like in Fairy Tail and its fandom, I do make a point to talk about the stuff I do like and why every now and then. While the series was running, ship weeks usually meant meta posts from me and this is my favorite of them.
This post was born from my own musings about how the anime dealt with Natsu and Lisanna’s relationship. I wanted to talk about its handing through the perspective of Lisanna being an important person Natsu lost and how that works with his desire to see Igneel again. The big moments I draw on is his promise in episode 75 where Lisanna asks Natsu to save her if she ever gets lost and their reunion in episode 79.
The perspective I took in that post is one I don’t really take a lot. I’m not arguing against an idea a lot of people in fandom agree with. I’m not even really arguing that my perspective is the correct perspective. I’m explaining the thought process that Natsu, as I interpret him, has regarding someone he cares about. The stuff I talked about in this post has become part of my interpretation of Natsu and traces of it can be seen in a lot of the posts I’ve made since. We have to bring Nali Week back.
#3. An Open Letter to the Nalu Fandom [originally posted October 1, 2017]
I love satire as a rhetorical tool. I love taking an idea I disagree with to so large an extreme that the problems with it are obvious to even the people who agree with it. While many of my posts have drips of sarcasm and irony, I love making an entire post based on the idea of pointing out the problems with an argument. Consider that I’ve done similar things with Opinion #100 and, to an extent, my most recent story.
The trick is finding something with problems that are so glaringly obvious, you can’t imagine people actually taking its side. In the case of this post, it was a hilarious letter addressed to the “anti-Nalu’s”. Apparently, the idea that people openly didn’t like Nalu got on “the nerve of every last one of their pussy hair“. So they wrote a short letter they meant for fans who don’t like Nalu to read. I would give them a pass becasue they were apparently on their period, but they were defending those Twitter pics of Natsu and Lucy on chain leashes.
It’s worth mentioning that this was a few months after the original series ended. I had been trying hard not to make a post about Nalu and the stupid things I saw their fandom do. I didn’t even talk about the pictures they were defending. When I made this post, I figured that I was probably not going to be making many more posts about Nalu for a while. So I decided to throw in every issue I had with the Nalu fandom between talking about it a year earlier and then.
As you can probably tell, I haven’t stopped complaining about Nalu and its fandom. This post seems to have set the tone for how I would deal with the ship and its fandom this side of the ending. Instead of pointing to why a ship fails for me, I’ve been talking about why others should have expected the ship to fail. And, if recent events are a sign of the future, it seems like I’m going to have stuff to say about it for a while. Yay?
#2. Why was Ichiruki Popular? [originally posted July 6, 2018]
What does it say that this post is among my top 10, both on this list and in terms of most notes on a post on this blog? This is a Fairy Tail blog for crying out loud. I shouldn’t be able to get so much attention for talking about a series that isn’t Fairy Tail. It almost certainly shouldn’t get more attention than most of my posts about Fairy Tail. A few people even liked and reblogged it this week.
Then again, this wasn’t my first time talking about other series. I’d already spent time talking about Rave Master, Naruto, and Monster Soul on this blog. I asked my followers if it would be cool if I spent time talking about other series, now that Fairy Tail had ended. Since I got a fairly decent response I decided to talk about a few series, including Bleach.
I got into reading Bleach about a year before it ended. At the time, I was following people who were already into it and was well aware of the popularity of Ichiruki and infamy of its fandom. I was fairly behind but I didn’t see much reason to ship Ichiruki when it ended and I saw the fan meltdowns. Imagine my shock when I got to the end and felt exactly the same about its chances when Rukia said Ichigo’s just her friend. I made this post to vent.
If I started reading Bleach about a year before getting into Fairy Tail, I likely would have been a Bleach blogger. This post served as an interesting glimpse into what that timeline might look like. It’s also one of the few posts that sparked actually interesting responses. While many have pointed to the anime as a reason for its fan popularity, I can’t tell how the staff came to the conclusion that Ichiruki needed to be portrayed as more romantic than in the manga.
#1. I’m late to the “Nalu wasn’t the original plan” party, aren’t I? [originaly posted December 10, 2016]
I’ve made a lot of posts on this blog. I’ve said a lot of things, done a lot of analysis and meta, and shared a lot of opinions here. And yet, I can’t say that too much of the stuff I’ve said is important. Not to say that my insight into certain topics isn’t appreciated. It’s just that much of what I’ve said over the years, even in some of the posts on this list, likely has been and would have been said by anyone else if I didn’t say it. The biggest exception to that has been this post.
A few months before this post, there was a leaked image of Mashima’s afterword in Fairy Tail S regarding the extra chapter Special Request, which happens to be one of my favorite chapters in the series. In it, he admitted that he didn’t originally plan on writing Natsu and Lucy’s relationship as romantic and was currently writing them as somewhere between friends and lovers.
When I first saw it as an image on a Tumblr post, I was extremely hesitant to say anything about it. I didn’t know about Fairy Tail S and assumed it was a troll. When it was confirmed by another blog, and it source was ultimately verified, it was a dream come true. Mashima had vindicated my thoughts on the ship literal months after my big post on Nalu. And yet, not many people were talking about what this actually meant for Fairy Tail and the fandom moving forward. So came this post.
In many ways, I’m still shocked that I still have to point people to this afterword and what it means for Fairy Tail. I’m sure many people know Mashima didn’t plan on making Nalu happen, but I doubt many people understand that fandom is outright incorrect to say that Nalu hsa been obvious from the jump. In a weird connection to the previous post, Mashima’s comments on Nalu are similar to comments Tite Kubo made regarding his writing Ichiruki. Even now, it’s hard to say that Nalu will become canon knowing Mashima’s original intents.
Of the most important thing to come from this post, this marked the start of me starting to hate Nalu. Up to this point, I went from being indifferent to it to not liking it. However, once this came to light, I came to actually hate the idea of Nalu as romantic. I’ve had even less patience for the fandom that made itself near synonymous with the Fairy Tail fandom at large on every site ever. I doubt that will change anytime soon and I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing anymore.
Well, that’s my list of my favorite posts. I’m sure you guys have favorites among my posts and maybe some of them are on this list. If you want to see more of my other personal favorite posts and reblogs, I’ve tagged all of them as fav on my blog, including this one. Here’s to 5 more years of whatever the heck I’m doing on this blog!
See you!

Fanfic Author Asks
Thanks for tagging @veliseraptor ! Drinking red wine, wrote 1.5k words, ready to answer some questions!
Author Name: bereft of frogs
Fandoms You Write For: I’ve really gotten onto an MCU streak. I’ve never been this productive in my life. And churning out like...actual completed fics. MCU is apparently my current home. I also sometimes write for Les Misérables, and, despite my griping earlier today, I do still have my ‘Death Gods magnum opus’ planned for Supernatural. As far as ‘fandoms I write for and never publish’ that list is much, much longer. ;-)
Where You Post: now I only post to Ao3. I have a fanfiction.net account, but I haven’t crossposted anything in years. I still have some bookmarks saved there that I’d like to keep, but it’s unlikely I’ll start regularly posting to fanfiction.net ever again.
Most Popular One-Shot: My most kudo-ed one-shot (defining ‘one-shot’ as self-contained story in one chapter, not part of a serialized narrative’ so I excluded ‘hard road’), is ‘hurts like ghosts’. (If I was counting ‘hard road’ which I maybe should because this one was, technically, a one-shot when I posted it, the answer would be ‘bone and broth.’)
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: Easy-peasy answer. ‘pain and other human sensations.’
Favourite Story You Wrote: I honestly, absolutely am super proud of ‘dark underground//violent sky’. It’s pretty fucked up, and I multiple times in the notes said it was “the worst fandom thing I’d ever done” but that was just to cover how much it delighted me. I’m real proud of it.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: I’m nervous for a couple upcoming works, right now, but of what I’ve already posted, probably the third chapter of ‘bound at the end of the world’. Oh no, I remember, it was definitely the chapter ‘Betrayal’ in ‘pain and other human sensations.’ I was rambling in the notes, I was nervous to check for comments. It was not the most Tony Stark friendly chapter, very anti-Sokovia Accords, and introduced a female OC...I was hella stressed. It worked out well though, and really was probably one of my best chapters of that fic.
(I’m frequently nervous posting fics so this question had a lot of possible answers.)
How Do You Pick Your Titles: Honestly it’s mostly ‘how dramatic does this sound’? Rarely it’s song titles (Like ‘spare me over’ from ‘O Death’ and ‘hurts like ghosts’ adapted from Lord Huron’s ‘Love Like Ghosts’.)
Do You Outline: Yes and no. Sometimes fics just pour out of me in a slightly horrifying word-vomit. Bigger projects often have a rough outline of scenes in brackets (example: [background info here] [conversation about X]). The Biggest Project (the Endgame AU) has a very, very detailed outline.
How Many of Your Stories are complete: So far all of them, because I’m terrified of repeating my youthful mistakes. I don’t start posting until I’m 100% sure I can complete it in a reasonable amount of time. Right now I have two in-progress series (the nine in the tree and hard road) but all of my individual fics are technically complete on Ao3.
In-Progress: Um. Well...I guess I have like 10 currently in some state of existing?
Coming Soon:  Been mostly concentrating on the big bangs, but here’s what’s coming:
Marvel Big Bang: ‘of the stern agony and shroud’ (Part I of ‘the dead reign there alone’. Part II ‘his chambers in the silent halls of death’ is also coming along quite nicely, so should be ready by the time the big bangs posts!). Hela reigns in Asgard. Thor and Loki struggle with this.
Thorki Big Bang: (very nervous to post, first foray into the ship) ‘water all around’ A young Thor and Loki go off by themselves and find themselves investigating a mysterious set of disappearances in a small village. (Hundreds of years later, aboard a refugee festival with the last remnants of their people, they’re circling each other again.)
Grandthorki Day: (also so, so nervous to post. It’s really fucking dark. Real dark. I’m sorry. But hey, it’s over 7k words and has a title now.) ‘actors without props//beasts without names’. The Grandmaster likes to put on a show.
Whumptober 2019 Project: (thus far untitled). I picked 8 prompts, a totally reasonable number. Totally. Reasonable. My goal is to start posting on October 24, to culminate on October 31, which is Halloween but also my fandom-versary! I can’t believe I was smart enough a year ago to make my first day actively posting fanfiction Halloween. I truly am, That Spooky Bitch.
I know people are looking for the ‘Endgame AU’ (alone amidst the ruins) to appear on this. But I decided that, personally, feeling satisfied with the narrative is more important to me than rushing it out. The Worst Draft is about 2/3 done, then I’ll start rewriting, I’m really hoping to hit a groove and get it done soon, but I don’t want to make any promises about how soon that will actually be.
Do You Accept Prompts: Sure why not! I’ve asked for prompts before for ‘hard road’, but I’d be happy to take general prompts, or prompts for other series (like ‘the nine in the tree’) or whatever! I had a lot, a lot of fun answering all those AU headcanon asks, so I’m always thrilled when I get asks/questions/prompts! (Cant always promise that how quickly I’ll get things done, but I’ll do my best!)
Upcoming Story You’re the Most Excited For: As much as I’m nervous to post the Thorki big bang, because it does feel a bit like tipping over a cliff, not just taking on a challenge to cover a really popular pairing but also opening myself up to possible intense criticism, or future scrutiny*, I’m honestly really, really satisfied with the narrative and the quality. I’m proud of it. I’m excited to get to share it.
*Even though yes, I am the one who, just hours ago, when faced with the rumors that VE Schwab was an incest shipper/supported incest shipping (accusations thrown around by the Supernatural fandom of all people) did say that if it turned out to be true I’d actually probably respect her more. I’m still a bit nervous.
Tag Five Fanfic Authors to Answer These Questions: Ahhh you all know how bad I am at tagging people. I’m going to try, just a couple, but you’re under no obligation and I’m sorry if you’ve already been tagged: @kiwimeringue @adhd-loki
Okay I tagged two actual humans, other than that, please do consider this an open tag! If you want to go for it!

Moronic Jealousy
(M’Baku x Reader)
Word Count: 4.6k
Warnings:  Fluff and Smut,
Tumblr media
A/N:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATHENA!!! 🎉🎉🎂🎂🎁🎈💕💋
I fully intended on posting this on the actual day, had the plot and everything but this week was, whew chile!  So after some selfcare, I finally got a story for you @muse-of-mbaku!  Happy Birthday and I hope New Orleans treats you well.  Continue to be great, break necks, and make moves!  This is inspired by a part of A Different World episode between Jaleesa and Walter.  Soon as I saw it on Prime Video, I been wanting to use it as fanfic fodder. It’s silly, so I hope you like it!
“So then I was like ‘Put the pussy on the chainwax!’”  Michelle cackles out loud as you and Adriene look at each other, telepathically wondering if your friend has gone insane.
“Honey, why would you say that in traffic court?  I enjoy the enthusiasm, but it’s misguided.”  Adriene states, leaning into her glass of moscato.
“You just don’t get it.  (Y/N), you get what I was trying to say, right?”  Michelle looks to you.
After several seconds of gulping air to find the words you respond.  “To me you just added a charge of animal cruelty on top of not having a working headlight, so I’d put you up for 3 years if it was my word, but Adriene is the jury here.”
Girls night is your favorite night of the week.  It’s a tradition that has been hard to keep up with given the busy weekdays you all shared, but in a way that made the final connect all the more sweeter.  And what comes with that is your favorite pastime: Drunk Courtroom.
“Man, you ALWAYS take Adri’s side in this.”  Michelle pouts, blowing a 3B curl out of her face.
“That’s what the judge does!  My jury tells me what to do- I think I need to cut you off of the Barefoot, cuz…”  You slide the bottle closer to you on the coffee table.
“No, that ain’t my problem!  You really bossy since your engagement to Timbuktu.”  Michelle cheeses into her glass.
Your jaw drops, scoffing.  “Oh my God, how many times I gotta tell you to stop calling him that!  Especially now that he is my future husband, chill with alldat.”
Michelle giggles, pushing you a little.  “Can I play a little??  You landed a gold mine, or should I say vibranium mine with him as your catch.  See what happens when you put the pussy on the chainwax?”
“Once again.  I. Don’t. Understand. That. Phrase.”  You clap between each word in frustration.  “Besides. He doesn’t work with the vibranium, he handles Jabari wood, which is just as sacred and important.”
“It sure the hell is.”  Adriene says out the side of her mouth.  “I bet his wood is handled very properly, hence the ring….”
“Stop.”
Michelle chimes in with a seductive tone.  “Does he wax his own wood, or do you do it for him?”
“Guys.”
“Is that what he names it?  Jabari?  ‘Jabari needs some attention…’ or whatever?”  Adriene inquires with an M’Baku impression that sounded more like Vincent Price.
“Fuck off y’all, damn!”  You get up in embarrassment to get some ice cream from the fridge as Adriene and Michelle balk in laughter.  Don’t nobody know how to cut you down from your high horse like your friends.
“Ok, ok.  My bad, we just playing with you!”  Michelle calls out.
Adriene cosigns.  “Can you blame us?  Mr. Perfect out here wining and dining you, leading a whole damn tribe and slaps a rock like that on your finger?  Don’t pay attention to us.”
Sitting back on the couch you lick your spoon instead of your wounds; the vanilla, brownie, caramel combo soothing you as you hold out your left hand.
Two weeks ago, M’Baku took you on a gondola ride that set the mood for romance just right.  You weren’t expecting anything to come from it but some snuggles with your love but when the boat looped back to dock, rose petals covered the path a nearby fountain, fanciful luminarias shaped in a heart on the ground marked the spot where he led you.  One of his cousins was there to shoot the moment as M’Baku got down on one knee and spoke his sweet words to you.  You couldn’t pay attention to their context because you were sobbing so much but knowing him they were profound and loving.  When you said yes he couldn’t stop hooting in the dead of night, hugging you tightly, kisses unabating.  He hasn’t stopped holding your hand since because ‘the ring is so heavy.’
“Yeah, well I still can’t stand y’all heffas.”  You grumble, rocking into them side to side.
“I wanna play a new game.  Adri, pick something, child.”  Michelle directs, pouring her glass to the brim again.
“I’m three years older than you, but go off I guess.”  Adriene mutters under her breath, pulling her braids back in thought.  “How about...Telephone!”
You scoff at her suggestion.  “You need at least 10 people for that game to be effective.  Pick something else.”
“What’re you talking about?  All you need is some phone numbers and gumption to cold call people.”  Adriene says with lip smack, pulling out her phone.
Michelle groans.  “Girl, you talkin bout crank calling people, not telephone.  Telephone is the whisper challenge for people with a lot of friends basically.”
“Ohhh, you right!  Ok, so crank calls.  Let’s make em!”  Adriene picks up a handful of hot cheetos, munching excitedly.  “And Michelle should go first since she so smart or whatever!”
Michelle screws her face up.  “No!  If I apparently lost Courtroom, I’m sitting out first round.  (Y/N), start things off.”
“I don’t feel like it.”  You whine, not entirely joking.  The moscato and late hour of the night made for a deadly combo.
“Pleeeease.  One round!  Ooh, to make it interesting, how about calling Tim?”  Michelle asks sneakily.
“His name is M’Baku!”  You exclaim.
“That’s neither here nor there.  I wanna see this!  Wake his ass up!”  Adriene says, bouncing in her seat.
You lay the ice cream down, picking up your phone regretfully.  “What do I even say?”
That’s all Michelle had to here.  “Ok, so check it.  You call him and change your voice a little to make it seem like you’re someone else and just catch his reaction.”
“Pretend he got child support payments due!”  Adriene offers.
“You always gotta be extra, Adriene!  But he’ll know it’s me.  This ain’t the 90s no more and he has my number after all.”
Michelle brushes your doubt away.  “Just *67 him!  It still works today, trust me…”  her voice trails off as she sips from her glass shaking her head in an apparent flashback.
“O....k.  I’ll try it, but soon as he knows its me, I’m cutting it.  I don’t wanna stress my baby.”  You say, lowkey getting excited by the approaching tease.  Adriene cuts the music they were playing as you dial in silence.
The phone rings on speaker phones ominously as you wait for M’Baku to pick up, fully expecting him to say your name and catching you instantly.
“Hello?”  He says sleepily.
You pause, words leaving your brain as Adriene and Michelle mime things to say.
“Uh, bueno, I’m so sorry for the late call.”  You say, lowkey butchering a Spanish accent as you hang your head in shame, certain you are caught already.
You hear rustling on M’Baku’s end as he moves.  “Well, may I ask who is this?”
You hated this already but push your way through the conversation.  “This is...Daniella?  Um, lo siento.  Pero, a friend of mine gave me your number to call so I could introduce myself.”
“What friend?”   He asks curtly.
You look to your girls for help on this one as they mouth names.
“Uhhh, Terrance?  Michelle’s brother.”  You say hesitantly.  They had only met a couple times at group events, so they were hardly friends but it is the best you have to make a connection.
“Ohhh, Terrance, yes, we are wonderful friends.  Known him for years.”  M’Baku says perking up.  You make a face at the phone as he lies so effortlessly.  “So can I help you with something, Ms.  Daniella?”
“Well, you may not know me but I have seen you at the gym a few times,  y I was muy impressed by su cuerpo y musculos….sorry!  I meant your body and muscles, I’m always slipping that way.”  You say playfully to keep up your Spanish identity.
“No, it is alright.  I speak Spanish fluently so si quieres, podemos hacerlo-”
“No!  No, but thank you!”  You clutch your chest as your heart pounds nervously.  No way in hell your high school Spanish could keep up with his.  “But, maybe we could meet in person and study our native tongues together.”  You throw that in for good measure.  Michelle almost howls out at your brazenness.
M’Baku chortles out loud, and you know you are caught.  Shaking your head as he laughs at you, you almost start to reveal the prank and ask him to knock it off.
“I have never been so enchanted by a woman I have yet to meet.  You have piqued my interest, Daniella, I cannot lie.”
“Really?  Oh, you are making me nervous now.  I thought for sure you would have someone already keeping your attention.  You are just so handsome.”  You waited on edge for his response.  This is when you will surprise him that the woman he is about to talk about in his life is the one pranking him.
“Nooo, I try to keep my personal life as stress free as possible.  And I am very relaxed right now, so I would love to meet you sometime.”
You can hear the smile in his voice as his baritone shines through, and you are disgusted.  That voice that made you quiver is intentionally being used for another woman, imaginary or not.  You couldn’t look at your friends for fear of breaking down.
“Wonderful!  How about tomorrow night, 8pm?  Since you are free…”  You try your best to keep up the art of seduction but it is waning fast.
“Perfect.  We can meet at this nice restaurant by the Lake Kenoba.  It’s beautiful at that time of evening.”
“Perfect!  See you then.”
Hanging up the phone, you look to Michelle and Adriene who are staring back at you, mouths agape.
“That didn’t go as planned.”  You say, tossing your phone aside on the couch cushions.
“Why the hell did you pretend to be a date for him?  I can’t believe he’s playing us...I mean you!!” Adriene exclaims.
Michelle pats your back.  “Now now, don’t get so up in arms.  I bet you five he is pranking you back.  No way in hell he actually fell for that.  Your Russian accent was so far left field, I couldn’t-”
“It was Spanish!”  You say defensively.  Michelle just makes a face, looking to Adriene for help.
“Ok, well, honestly I agree with Michelle on this.  He is a smart man, and loves you to death up until now.  No way this is a sign of anything else.  Right?”
You sit back on the couch looking to the ceiling to search your thoughts for anything that may have lead to a sign of this coming.  “Guys, I don’t meant to kick y’all out but I need to be alone.”
They both try to convince you to not think too much into the whole conversation, but that was impossible.  Soon as they left, you were pacing the floor, channeling Angela Bassett circa Waiting to Exhale.  If the band on your ring wasn’t vibranium, you would burn it with his clothes.  Instead, you come to a moment of clarity.  Maybe they are right and he isn’t a low down, dirty dick ass cheater.  Maybe.
You pick your phone up and text him a ‘Hey babe!’ with a kissy face.  His response is quick, giving you an equally affectionate hello text.
You text him asking for some time to see him tomorrow night at 8pm.  Same time as Maria, or Lisbeth, or whatever name you gave yourself.  You see the bubbles pop up and disappear several times on screen, driving you insane.  Now he takes his time to reply?!
He says he cannot make it, meeting with family that day.  You offer to come with, but he says it is private.  Too private for your future WIFE to be apart of??
You end the conversation, not bothering to respond.  Your phone dings again but you don’t bother checking it out.  As you make your way to bed, you look up on Amazon for gasoline cans and bleach with one day shipping guarantees.
The next day, you are in a hazy cloud of dread.  Your concentration at work is gone, you barely could eat lunch, and Michelle and Adriene keep blowing up your phone asking for updates, which there were none.  Your fears had already been confirmed so what more was there to talk about?
That’s when your brain hatches up a plan.  You were gonna catch him in the act, no doubt about it.  When you got off work, you went to your place to gather an overnight bag and head over to his.  He won’t even feel like going out when you were through ‘being his peace’.
Pulling up, you knock on his door at 6:30pm.  M’Baku opens the door, shirtless in his joggers.
“(Y/N), what are you-”
“I figured after you are through with your family, we could hang out!”  You say hurriedly, walking briskly past him as he stares at you in confusion while you toss your bag aside.
M’Baku walks over to you, arms crossed.  His pics substantiated by his stance and bold tattoos across them.  “Did you text me before getting here?”
You swiftly turn to him, taking off your jacket and shoes.  “No, not at all.  Should I have?  Am I interrupting something?”
M’Baku furrows his brow looking from your bag to you.  “Like I said, I made plans with family at 8, so I am in the process of getting ready.”
You blink a couple times, holding your chest.  “Oh, oh!  Don’t let me stop you, Timbuktu!  You do all you need and keep it moving, I’ll be upstairs chilling.”  You pick up your bag and head up.
“Tim- Have you seen Michelle today?  Why are you calling me that?  And what is in the bag love?”  M’Baku calls after you.
You don’t answer as you head to his bedroom and get undressed, grabbing a shirt of his out of the dresser to put on as a night gown.
“You got a lotta questions for me, but I ain’t asked you a damn thing.  SO don’t worry about me, just go on your little date...with your family.  I’ll do your laundry while you’re gone, how’s that?”  You give him a tight smile as you crawl up in bed, turning on the TV on almost full blast.
M’Baku’s belly jiggles as he chuckles to himself with his hands on his hips before going to check your bag.
“Get outta my stuff!”  You exclaim, getting up to pull his hand away from inside.
This is an obvious trap as M’Baku swiftly wraps you up in his arms, staring you down with a cold, calculative expression.  “Where’s the gas can you ordered?  Bleach?”
You shrank in his grasp as you wiggled to make him put you down.  Damn that shared Amazon account.
You stand up to him defiantly.  “Where’s Daniella, hm?  She meeting you at that restaurant, right?”
M’Baku’s expressions cracked into a smirk.  You wanted to rip those full lips off of his face.  “It’s about time you brought it up.”
You exhale sharply.  “Why?  Because I should’ve always known?  I should’ve suspected it a long time ago that you been two timing me?”  You are shrill as you crawl into his bed in the fetal position.
M’Baku groans as he sit on the edge of the bed in front of you.  “Come on, my adored one.  Is that what you think of me?”
You shake your head, long faced.  “Of course not, until she called you.”
“But it was you!  You called me!”
“You didn’t know that!”
M’Baku laughs out loud, slapping his knee.  You push on his broad back with your feet to try and get him off the bed to no avail.  “Aye, you think I believed that wasn’t you but a random woman who attends my gym, that I haven’t even noticed has any female participants at the early hour I go.  And is also friends with a sibling of your friend who I have only seen less than a handful of times?”
“Then why did you lie and say you knew him for years?”
“I was trying to break you out of character!   But you fell into it, so I kept going along to pull the wool over your eyes instead.  Plus, your Japanese accent was borderline offensive.”  M’Baku says softly, bringing his hand to your cheek, brushing it with his thumb.
“IT WAS SPANISH!  Why would I SPEAK Spanish while sounding Japanese.”
M’Baku’s body shakes a little as his face strains to hold back his childish laughter.
“You are diabolical.”  You mutter, attempting to nip at his fingertips.
M’Baku gave you a gap toothed smile big enough to make the earth quake.  “Don’t blame me, your friends have gotten you into trouble with me plenty of times before but we make up, always.”
You huff as you turn to the TV to remain bothered.  “I’m not ready to make up.”
M’Baku lays his head back on your belly, talking to the ceiling.  “What if I told you I made reservations at the aforementioned restaurant and I had planned to  come by and pick you up to expose your plan. Hm?”
Your heart falls at this revelation.  You would’ve loved to have seen that happen, and that restaurant had bread and butter you would kill to consume right now, and pack extras in your purse.  But jumping to conclusions ruined that as it is your Olympic sport, gold medal winner.
“M’Baku, I’ll give it to you that I shouldn’t have thought that you would two time me, especially without talking to you first.  But I still don’t like that you tricked me.  You drug it out on me too long.”
M’Baku rolls over, his head traveling up your arm to your neck, kissing behind your ear and humming.  The vibrations of his voice tickled you along with his breath but you ignore the dopamine flowing through you, lying perfectly still and unphased.
M’Baku picks his head up, tutting at you as he gets off the bed to head for the restroom.  Next sound you hear is the shower coming on.   You hope he doesn’t think you’re joking about not wanting to go out now because you were firmly in that frame of mind.
His 1000 count sheets caressed your skin nicely as you snuggled under his down comforter.  That coupled with the pitter patter of the shower left you fighting your eyelids to watch the TV screen and losing.
You were awakened by the shift of weight on the bed, M’Baku wrapping his arm around your midsection to pull up behind you, breathing in the coconut and shea scent of your hair before resting his hand fully encompassing one of your breasts.
Instinctively, you hold his arm tightly.  “I’m still mad at you.”
“Eh, I know.”  His lips graze your ear lobe, making you flinch.
“And I don’t wanna go to dinner with you.”
“The reservation time passed.  You slept through it.”
“Did you go eat without me?”  You ask.
M’Baku’s hand moves to travel up your thigh.  “I’m not going anywhere when you’re laying in my bed.”
You start to feel warm all over, a familiar sensation begs you to give in.  “Whatever man.”
M’Baku’s groan rumbles through his body as he reaches under your nightgown/his shirt, grazing your fupa, playing in your tuft of hair between your legs.  “I don’t want to bed you while you’re angry…”
Your hand clutches his forearm desperately as your legs part slightly involuntarily.  “You think I’m that easy?”
M’Baku’s plush lips falls on your neck softly.  “No.  That’s why you are perfect for me.  I never worked so hard in my life to get what I want.”
His wide hand pushes your legs apart farther as they plunge between your thighs, palming your pussy.  His fingers finding your wetness with ease.
You gasp, hips bucking for friction against his hand.  “I think I need  a little more convincing…”
“At your service.”  M’Baku crawls under the covers.  You giggle as you lie on your back watching his frame under the blanket make mountains to get to your lower portion.  Feeling yourself spread underneath the covers without him in sight is exhilarating for you.  You feel his breath on you as he exhales with built up lust.  When his tongue spreads across your lips your back concaves in aching relief.  M’Baku’s tongue goes into a rhythm between your inner labia, flicking your clit every so often.  The pulsations of his pace threaten your sanity as you try to sit up, crawling backwards slightly, but M’Baku’s arms wrap around your hips to keep you in place.
He seems to punish you for you resistance, focusing now solely on your clit, sending you into a tizzy.  Sounds like a Campbell’s chicken noodle soup commercial under the covers with all the slurping and lip smacking he shamelessly devotes to taste every drop of you.  You’re blubbering his name, peppering encouragements with begs for mercy as you feel your orgasm wash over your body.  All of the stimulation happening underneath the blanket elevated your pleasure sensors as you couldn’t see the source.  You had to see him or you would for sure lose your mind.  Pulling the blanket back, you see his cheeks hollowing out, maintaining pressure on your clit, eyes deviously trained on yours as he penetrated you with a couple of his fingers.
This is much worse for you now, but at least you can take it out on him instead of the blanket.
“God, I’m cumming on your face right fucking now, Baku.”   You squeal, fingers gripping his hair as your hip flexors strain to hold back from crushing his skull .
He turns you lose of his mouth finally, crawling up to you to tongue your down, tasting yourself along with him.
“It seems our native tongues were pretty well together.”  M’Baku growls, pulling you down by your legs and he pulls his joggers off, dick unfurling full and ready.  “Have I convinced you yet?”
You claw above your head for something, anything to hold onto.  “You’re getting there.  It’s just, my gut is telling me something else.”
“I can fix that…” M’Baku licks his lips, reaching to take your shirt off over your head, squeezing you titties like fresh picked fruit.  You both groan from the touch, his eyes entranced by your nipples as they draw him in, working his neck to lap his tongue around your areola until its peak is reached.
You lick your lips, biting them as reach down between the two of you for his dick, stroking it slowly.  You feel him expand in your hand as his moans concentrate on your nipple as he continues to suck, vibrating against your sensitivity.
He comes off of your breast with a pop, smiling devilishly.  “What are you doing?  I’m supposed to be pleasing you tonight, my love.”
“This pleases me, Baku.  This does.”  You whisper as you continue to ready him.
M’Baku smiles into your mouth, kissing you as you wrap your arms around his neck, laying back as you wrap your legs around him, walls contracting excitedly awaiting his entry.
M’Baku maintains eye contact as you feel his tip pressing into you before the sensation of stretching you makes you break; closing your eyes and mouth falling wide as his girth slowly navigates your canal.
M’Baku mirrors you as your tightness affects him as well, wrapping his hand around your neck lightly before tonguing your tonsils out hungrily.  His hips activate against yours moving in shallow motions to prepare you before taking his strokes longer and longer until his entire length massages your insides beautifully.
“Fuck, you feel good.”  M’Baku groans as he punches the headboard once for good measure, laying his body flush with your, kissing your neck and clavicle as his strokes picked up pace.
You gasp as if you’re drowning, clutching onto his arm, kissing his tattoo band gratefully.  “Ohh, my gut is telling me something much different now.”
“What’s it telling you?”  M’Baku grunts in your ear.
“It’s telling me to marry the man attached to this dick.”  You say before your voice hitches from the wave of pleasure flooding over you, seizing your body up.  The sweet cacophony of his skin slapping against yours signals M’Baku’s enjoyment of you in this moment, trapped between your legs as stare into each other’s eyes threateningly.  He pulls out of you, rolling you over to give your ass a slap.
“You need to be on your knees then.”  M’Baku commands.
You try your best to do as you are told, aftershocks between your legs threaten their stability as you get into position, rubbing yourself lightly as you lie in wait.  Your head is against the mattress as you watch him stroke himself as he plants his hand on your lower back, kissing your cheeks audibly, smacking them both after.
“I don’t think I have convinced you properly of my devotion, love.”  M’Baku says, rubbing the tip of his dick between your swollen labia.
You inhale sharply.  “I’m past that, don’t worry about that baby.  Just please-”
“Don’t interrupt me.  You talk a lot but not when it counts.  I want to hear you when I am inside you.”
You push yourself towards him, trying to geolocate the dick.  “Ok, I will, I promise.”
“I’ll hold you to that.”  M’Baku says, spreading your knees father apart before sliding back into you, causing you to illicit a guttural moan.
“You fill me up so good, Baku.”  You inhale sharply as he works himself inside you roughly.  He bounces his hips against your cheeks with slow deliberate strokes.  Bam, bam, bam!  The force pulls you back on his dick with each thrust, eventually leading you to bounce against him on your own.
“Ah, that’s better.  Come to me like you came over here to tell me off.”  M’Baku says, rubbing your ass.
Biting your lip, you pick up your bounce, arching.  “I don’t play when it comes to this dick, Baku.  Don’t make me wreck you.”
M’Baku smacks one cheek enthusiastically, the sting somehow sweetens your pleasure.  “Show me.”
You give it your all, smacking your ass against his hips, tightening around him as you wind around his length expertly.  Although you had him right where you wanted him, moaning and cursing you, you get high off of your own supply.  The pressure building within you begins to release and you lose your form, holding your breath as you came.
M’Baku would not have that.  He leans over you, holding your head up by your hair.  “I want to hear you…”
He takes over, pounding into you while reaches between you to stimulate your bud.  You squeak, gripping the sheets as he commands you to breathe.  You swear this is impossible as he won’t stop digging you out and stressing your scalp with his grasp.  Then you aren’t sure if this orgasm was really long or another one came quickly but as you opened your throat, you let out an animalistic screech that scared the shit outta you but rocked M’Baku’s world.  He practically pounds you through the mattress to the floor as you both collapse, humping you into submission as he gets his last few strokes in you.  He warms your belly from inside with his release.
M’Baku gets off of you so you can breathe, kissing down your back and examining the mess you all made inside of you.  You jerk feeling him touch you, wiping the remnants down before slowly rolling off to the side of you.  He takes your hand kissing your ring again before looking at you lovingly.
You lay there, twitching every few seconds as you come down.
“Are you cold?”  M’Baku asks, getting up slowly to grab the previously discard blanket.
“No, of course not.  I’m just recuperating.”  You say between the natural jerks of your muscles, your heart still pounding between your legs.
“Any chance of Daniella coming back?  Her accent wasn’t so bad now that I think about it.”  He says, kissing your hand again.
You pick it up, laying it across his face for what was supposed to be a slap.  “Shut up, I’m still frickin embarrassed by that.  You owe me dinner though.”
M’Baku smiles, rolling on his side towards you.  “I do.  I shouldn’t be the only one eating tonight.  Plus, I can’t risk you incinerating my things.”
You lay there in silence, closing your eyes.
“Were you...really going to do that?”
You start to snore.
“(Y/N), honestly.”

Blog Birthday??!!?!!?!?!
Tumblr media
Helloooooo alll! So not only is today my wife’s birthday (I keep saying wife and I feel like someone is gonna believe it too much someday?), but also! It is my blog birthday!!!!! Fucking shit you guys! Happy birthday to this blog! Some cool facts about this blog:
1) Today, it is 1 year old (shit my dudes, it’s real)
2) It was started purely because I had a story that I wanted to post and I was tired of not reblogging fan content but only liking, so the side blog was created
3) There are so many instrumental people who went into creating this blog oh ho ho let me tell you about it under the cut, sorry to everyone who was tagged I went ham
4) This blog has grown to have more followers than I deserve
5) Has gotten me out of some pretty bad depressive episodes
6) Is my child that I want so very much to nurture
So just.... A very big thank you goes out to everyone seeing this. Because even in indirect ways, you have all affected me and shaped me in some way. So thank you, I love you all! (And of you were tagged, even if you don’t read on, please know you affected something about this blog in the biggest way possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart <3)
If you’d like, please read to see the complete history about my time on here, but if not, I hope your day is extra happy today! Because mine was! <3
So all in all, after I got to read a ton of fanfics online as a guest on AO3, I finally made my own account that held LITERALLY nothing but bookmarked fics that I really wanted to read. When this happened, I looked to tumblr for more Harry Potter content. Since then I have two fics that I have written for fests (1 and 2), dozens of drabbles and head cannons floating around tumblr  (under #phiawrites), written 10 fics on AO3, gained a thousand followers or so, and smiled so much more often.
About two years ago, I started actively seeking out blogs. The first every drarry blog I followed religiously, with notifications and everything, was @dorthyanndrarry. Her writing INSPIRED ME, and I would stalk her writing blog daily to see if there was new content to enjoy. Next was @l0vegl0wsinthedark, who not only blew me away with writing, but also with support. She was always so so so kind to everyone, and so excited, and her presence was exactly what I wanted to be as well. Of course, with love, I had to obsess over @bixgirl1 next, and obsess I DID. Sometimes I would get so overwhelmed with notifications, I had to turn them all off, but I would always make it a habit to go back and read their blogs later.
The next big big big step for me, was Jeni. I had followed @drarrymylove for a while, and Jeni wrote such amazing and beautiful drabbles for asks, even anon asks, and I was truly so inspired by them. I would send her asks with prompts, and to my utter delight and surprise, she wrote a few out!!!! They are still my favorites, and I still read them from time to time. About 13 months ago, she sent me a message after I left a comment on something of hers, and I grabbed on and held on to the convo like a life raft on open water.
Soon after, I created this blog on January 20th, 2018. I started reblogging like a wildfire, and I could not get enough.
Next, would definitely be staganddragon (not entirely sure if she wants her new blog to be separate now, so I will keep silent on her blog name). Emily wrote amazing songs, like songs I would listen to on repeat over and over and over and over. This was all around 12 months ago, a little after I started to talk with Jeni, and I got so so so inspired by the song Tuesday Morning, that I just HAD to write. I sat down, and in one five hour sitting, cranked out my first fic. Emily was super supportive, so was Jeni (who at this time didn’t know yet that I was this blog, she thought we were two separate people), and I was riding high.
Soon after, Jeni made a post, or said something, about how there should be more fairytales for drarry, and I quite agreed, and reblogged the post saying that if she wrote one for me, I would write one for her. She agreed, and tagged my other blog only to find out it was me all along, and I went into writing my next fic(s). Jeni gifted me The Nightingale, and I gifted her my cinderella AUs that Emily graciously beta-ed and grew to be more out of control than I thought. I was hooked.
After that, things happened fairly quickly for me. I started betaing, I joined the discord, I met so many amazing people through it (especially in the sprinting section), I wrote more, I responded more to content, I created content.
I met @morgendaemmerung89 who drew me this for one of my drabbles (that I still scream about constantly)
I met @gnarf who is an absolute gem, and inspired me so so much with the fact that she essentially TAUGHT HERSELF ENGLISH TO WRITE, and wrote such heart wrenching stories like Harry Potter’s Biggest Fan
I wrote a birthday present for carpemermaidtales, and a present for @goldentruth813 (who also was so kind and inspiring as a writer and as a supporter with every single person she interacted with. Like... I was in awe. Still am most of the time)
I made friends with @snortinglaughter by telling her we were best friends anonymously and giving her clues as to who I was through anon before she found me (which kinda might be my MO but hey, here we are right?) because Gigi was the absolute best and I was obsessed with her blog as well as her writing such as this one
I was obsessed with @decanthrope‘s ability to say such bizarre things and weave a story out of a single sentence. There is also that way the fics were written so supremely well as well. Take a look
I don’t even remember how I became friends with Jess, @nifflers-n-nargles, but her writing is amazing and I can’t for the life of me tell you how happy I am that I did, as we are married on discord now with @hogwartsfirebolt (who is the sweetest and the loveliest and all around the best ok ok she writes like a dream) Gigi, and @slashfoxes (who had her birthday on my blogs birthday so of course we were destined to be, here is some of her hot stuff)
I talked to @mzuul a few times after I sent her anonymous love letters  through the ask box because her art literally makes my heart stop beating for a few seconds so I can take in how utterly amazing it is, and low key inspired me to try to draw a little on my own
I met @foularcadebanana, whom I love with all of my heart, and literally helped me through so fuckign much its not even funny. She was my biggest supporter over the summer with some fics of mine, and I can’t tell her enough how grateful I am for her. I wrote her this little thing here, and if you haven’t read her stuff, please fucking do here is her Big Bang (yes, she did do that kudos to her)
I met @violetclarity who is a gem of a human, and me in like 4 years I have decided, who writes magNIFICENTLY so please check her out
@xx-thedarklord-xx is literally a sweetheart (though she might try and deny it) and I am still shocked that she actually talks to me because she was a BIG name to me starting off, and I ADORED her blog so much, still do, and her writing skills I would literally kill for
@jadepresley talked to me after I left one too many screaming comment on her current fic (seen here), which is absolutely wild and boggles my mind every time it happens... we are best friends now though. NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT FROM ME
@jet-playin writes the funniest and hottest things, and honestly I loved every bit of our interactions
@assassinsdragons was one of the first blogs I noticed in my notes, and everything she had to say was so incredibly kind, and she writes now tooo!!!
@saintdrarry makes absolutely stunning artwork. I am still in awe looking at it, and you should be too. I am so impressed with this gal, let me tell you, she will go places, and I am so happy to be apart of her life
I really can’t tell you how much these people have affected my life and influenced it for the better. Of course, this isn’t everyone, not even close, but just know how thrilled I was to know all of you. Thank you so so so much.
