One very specific thing in mahoyaku that makes me Struggle so much and it's legitimately a Me Problem that gets me like:

Is the fact that an importantly revelant character to Central Country and to one of the wizards' (Faust) past is named: Alec Granvelle... orz... that's also my son's (OC's) name...

#aria rants #theres alec granvelle analysis happening to my twitter timeline and i love it honestly! i get to learn more bout him!#but also just seeing the name alec in general makes me think bout my own alec and like-- Wrong! Zero points! thats a different character!#i can only quickly think of em as separate whenever alec granvelle gets fullnamed which is so funny honestly #my brain is the way that it is and alas! the name alec has deeply integrated itself in my braincells as ''the name of my oc''#cuz of how RARELY i see that name used. like-- with ray its easy cuz ray is a fairly common name so im used to that but the name alec #is uncommon enough that its rarely used in stories so i was both pleasantly surprised when i saw it used in mhyk #but also just 😔 when i realized that my brain has so much difficulty separating the two #i even tried a test by writing alefau fanfic and it kiiiiinda worked??? except the way i wrote the alec granvelle in that story is... hes...#hes so... heavily influenced by my own alec im so sorry to all the alec granvelle fans my only defense is that its set in modern au--
