In GOOMT’s canon, has Laura ever existed? There is that shapeshifting person/creature but does that mean that in James’ original stay in Silent Hill, Laura was that creature? or is the creature new to both Harry and James and it just is taking that specific form to mess with them?

YES, she has!!

James’s foray into Silent Hill went JUST as SH2 did in-game (ok - give or take a few Interactions or Dialogues that differed; but not too much!!!). Laura was 100% indeed human and real, and existed there just as we knew her, and so was NOT the kaleidoscope creature girl in GOOMT.

the kaleidoscope girl first made her debut in chapter 18. she took on a dual form of Laura and Cheryl, then flickered like a kaleidoscope through the entire combined encyclopedias of the women Harry and James have ever known, and ultimately transformed into a vision of a fiery Heather before the boys were chased out of the hall (forcing them to seek shelter in Room 312).

so she IS an original creature of mine, yes!! and she’s got a LOT going on with her, LOL.

it IS pretty confusing and fishy why she prefers donning Laura over anyone else - and especially over Cheryl.

but, uuunnnnFOOORRTUNAATEELLYYYY, however~.. i can’t tell you the specifics as to why; or why she does what she does.
