thinking about the unfairness of my most listened to songs of the past 6 months

no. 2 is gazin by ringo deathstarr which is like. that's so nice bc i started listening to that the day after spotify stopped counting listens last year so it never got a chance to be in my spotify wrapped, but I'm like 99% sure it's gonna be in there this year, so it finally gets its recognition

but no. 1 is hate yourself by tv girl, which was one of the biggest songs I listened to in 2022? like you've already had your moment. why are you no. 1. let one of the other songs have a chance

but it's such a banger that it'll probably end up being no. 1 anyway

#this is like in 2018 when my no. 1 was the who the kids are alright #like. you should be in 2015. what are you doing 3 years after my who obsession mostly faded. where did you come from......#for me songs are forever assigned to specific years and if i get reobsessed with a song years later i have to be like #'okay you can be in my playlist FOR A LITTLE WHILE but you have to behave. don't overdo it though bc you've had your year'#i can make a few exceptions like e.g. i listened to wolf alice don't delete the kisses in 2018 bc i liked it #but then i listened to it again in 2020 and it ended up becoming the soundtrack to a really significant memory/period of time #so like that is an honorary 2020 song to me #also i guess if i have a song in my playlist and then a new year begins and it's still in my playlist then i'm not gonna remove it #or make a new playlist of completely new songs to signify a new year (made that mistake in 2020.......)#like i'll let it carry on its. thing. but once it does go from the playlist it's forever tied to a specific time #so i can listen to it in the future when i want to relive a certain bit of time #it lives forever the memory archives #i'm normal about the way i listen to music btw #ramble
