Self recommendation: i think On the Run from Tomorrow is a great introduction to my writing, though it can be a little rough on your tissue box! (i also like to rec it because i like people to be unwell about it with me.) if you're more into high stakes supernatural fluff, then her pulse in my throat is definitely where it's at! all my writing is pretty good though, if it's your cup of tea! it's certainly is mine. <3

i had a lot of fun writing for the @remnants-of-rwby-events inaugural fic exchange! definitely proved i can be unwell about any characters given enough time to cook up something suitable! it also reminded me that the rwby brainrot (affectionate) is terminal and i am utterly incapable of writing one-shots. rip in pieces.

HAPPY LGBT HISTORY Month to you my friend!!! Hope you had a great international lesbian day(Oct 8) and Coming out Day (Oct 11). I'm writing you as a QUEER to a fellow QUEER.

My name is B. A closeted lesbian who's looking to come out to her family this month. In my almost two years of existence on this blog, I've read different “coming out stories” which has been a whole motivation to me- I hereby set a day in mind, to come out to my family. However things took a turn as my mom who i thought would be free of her ovarian cancer by said date developed a kidney problem just after ovarian cancer- she means the whole world to me and her acceptance is what I yearn for with my coming out. She has always said we should allow her die and has been unmotivated about life until her birthday few weeks ago (sept 11) where a whole lot of people on this app sent their good wishes, drawings, and words of encouragement to her. We turned everything sent into a blanket for her and she's been wrapping herself with the love she received- she wants to live again and fight for the sake of strangers who believed in her(so she said). The medical personnel admits it is the best time to have her surgery (Ureteral Stent Placement surgery) because she has the right mood and mindset. Unfortunately for us, we are 500$ away from getting her surgery, it’s almost a month after her birthday and her fighting spirit is dying- I also can't come out to a dying mother- I need her to be fine before my coming out date/birthday(20th Oct). It's 4 days to my birthday and we've only raised 280$ of 500$. Hi, your story is truly touching and I'm sorry for your difficult situation. I'm sure there will be a more prosperous time to come out, even if I know how painful it would be to bring it in, plus you find yourself in a situation where your mother is unwell and her life is in danger, so it would be really bad to maybe leave this to her. thing to accept. It's difficult and I can only empathize, however I believe this is your last chance to do so. Unfortunately I cannot donate due to financial problems and because I have no income, I am just starting to study at university and I live with my parents. But I can absolutely share on my social media so that this story reaches more people and you can be helped. Do you want me to share it?.Obviously mine are just advice, yours is a difficult situation and I wanted to underline that it really isn't an excuse for not donating. Indeed, I am sure that you will find the necessary money and you will finally be freer to express yourself

Hey I trust your judgement/taste in podcasts, so could i bother you for some podcast recs?

Oh my goodness I feel so honored to be asked for podcast recs this is so sweet!

Secondly however, I am a little bit of a fraud at the moment I have not been listening to a bunch of new or even old ones, but I will give a list of my personal favorites. I think I’m gonna try to refrain from bigger name ones, just cause those are pretty well known around tumblr but there are so many I love so it’ll be fun to choose.

Let me know if you listen to any of them and if you liked them!

1. Midst- this one is AMAZING. the story is about three intertwining people’s lives in a fantastical western/space setting on a planet in the middle of a vast galactic empire. the story is so creative and wild but the soundscaping and the way the three narrator’s voices intertwine is so good, absolutely recommend. i don’t want to talk to much about the plot because its a little convoluted but i will list some things you will find in season one (light monsters, shadow demons, a man with an upside down mouth, a poisoned glove, an adorable 11 year old artist, an old western cabaret, evil rocks, space bureaucracy and MORE)

2. The White Vault- deliciously scary and creepy. This is a horror podcast that works around the conceit of forgotten things left at the cold ends of the earth. each season is a found footage (audio?) compilation of what different exploratory teams left behind and the mystery that unfolds is so scary and haunting. this one is fun because the teams are international and not only are the actors actually from the countries their characters are from, their language is woven into the narrative in ways that you don’t usually see in media

3. Unwell- another spooky creepy one about a mysterious town in southern ohio where nothing is as it seems. the story follows lilly (a bi racial lesbian woman) as she moves back to her estranged mother’s boarding house to take care of her as she recovers from a broken foot. she starts exploring more and realizing that this town is hiding a lot of secrets, some normal (they have a celery soda festival every year) and others...not so much. this one is lovely because it blends real life, real world problems with the supernatural and its very refreshing and new. the first season is based in summer but the second one takes place in autumn so its the perfect time to listen!

4. Brimstone Valley Mall- do you yearn for the long lost year of 1999? Do you think tripp pants are the height of fashion? are you goth? if so this podcast is for you. in Brimstone Valley Mall in the south central pennsylvania region four demons are searching for their lost friend and band leader because without him, they can’t play at the Y2K apocalypse party being thrown in hell and Satan will be EXTREMELY disappointed. this one is so incredibly funny and irreverent and very high energy, just a fun one to listen to. i will say it is pretty raunchy so if you’re not into that it might not be for you. 

5. Midnight Radio- Short and bittersweet, this ten episode radio drama follows the perspective of Sybil McIntyre a radio show host in the town of Dawn Arbor in the 50′s as she unravels the mystery of some letters that keep showing up from a longtime listener. This one is another perfect one for fall as Sybil’s poetic love of her town comes out as she describes the apple festival, the leaves falling, and childhood adventures. This one is a bit sad, as it explores loss, love and moving on, but sometimes you just need that catharsis. And remember, all ghost stories are love stories. 

6. Death by Dying- Oh to be a small town, obituary writer in Crestfall Idaho, investigating deaths and writing about them in his passionate, eccentric way. The humor in this show is top notch, I’d equate it to a Lemony Snicket kind of vibe and the side characters are snarky and fun. This show also deals with the topics of grief and moving on and how death is something different to all of us. (Also the Angel of Death is Wife Material). This show is short (only 5 eps), but there should be more coming out sometime!

7. Vega: A Scif Fi Adventure Podcast: This one is fun. I would equate it actually, to Midst which I mentioned earlier, as its told from an omniscient narrator perspective who has a great sense of humor. Vega is basically a secret agent in a futuristic city (the culture she’s a part of greatly african based) and she’s the greatest at her job. She’s smart, strong, confident, suave, loves her family and doesn’t play by the rules of the stuffy council, until something goes wrong. There have only been a couple episodes released so far but they have started coming out again so the full season should be released soon!

This got really, really long so I will just list a couple more before I go

Kalila Stormfire’s Economical Magic Services - a young witch tries to make it on her own in a city, but a mysterious saboteur is making it harder and harder

Harlem Queen- a fiction podcast but about a real person, a numbers queen who lived in Harlem and was one of the most powerful women in 1920′s New York

Stellar Firma- Space Shenanigans!! Improv comedy at its spaciest

Inn Between - your classic DND podcast but with a twist. Instead of all the battles, its all the things that happen after at a little inn called The goblin’s head

The Hotel- a horror podcast about hotel that eats you and the creepy staff that work there

the six disappearances of ella mccray- Ella disappears and her six friends and family members are trying to find her, if the strange changes that are happening to them don’t get them first
