Some more assorted TaiBani 2 thoughts

Felt like a setup season in a lot of ways, which is not necessarily bad but you have NO idea how blueballed I am after waiting 11 years for a setup season. Please, I'm begging you, Tiger and Bunny needs more Tiger and Bunny.

As cute as it is to have Tiger and Bunny mentor an off-brand version of themselves, the new Heroes mostly feel like a filler distraction. This is another thing not helped by the setup structure of the first cour; they're very obviously planning something plotwise with the knockoff twins but there's no payoff here. Ditto whatever the fuck is up with Cat's mom.

The visuals...are not bad, but something is missing. TB always had a lot of flair to its crowd shots and never felt generic. It always felt like it wasn't modern-day, to me, but TB2 feels a little less visually striking in that sense. Like, the fashions and such in the original series are appealing while also feeling distinctly...70s (ie Farrah Fawcett Bunny) and TB2 doesn't quite have that

...is it bad that I almost dislike the found-family vibe the Heroes have now? LMAO god that sounds so stupid but there was something I enjoyed a lot about the bizarre "barely know you but might have to die for you but also wanna kick your ass on the scoreboard" work dynamic they had in the original series. I really liked the fucked up sponsorship stuff but they seemed to have eased back on that...for now

Absolutely love the greater exploration the original set of Heroes got, tho!! Especially Keith and Ivan, who have been kinda gimmickbots

I wish the English translators would fucking speak to the English localizers re: Fire Emblem cos the dub using 'them' for Fire Emblem feels like a copout when official English subs use 'he'. I am entirely fine with Nathan being a nonbinary person who chooses to use 'he!' Just, fucking communicate and commit

So the second cour is poised to involve mysterious old book lady (100% chance of Ouroboros conspiracy), LL Audun (ditto)--

actually I'm speculating that mysterious old book lady is a retired Hero and will probably be tapped for info on Audun, and at least one of them is involved with Ouroboros

--Ryan is set to heavily figure (it's his ol' nemesis that ran off with the fancy drugs, after all), and I suspect the NEXT drug is also gonna be teased as a potential restoration of Kotetsu's powers

--does anyone else remember that we never addressed power-spike Kotetsu having the same aura as Jake (orange)? And they gave the Ouroboros twins a purple aura here to represent their power-spike, so. WHAT DOES IT MEAN, etc

Oh, yeah, and Yuri did literally nothing in spite of a big fancy shot in the OP so he's definitely due to be involved with the second cour. Particularly since Audun will inevitably involve Legend and the older generation of Heroes

I was kinda zzz'd by the Ouroboros Wonder Twins. They've obviously got Narrative Reasons for being there, but the attempt to build pathos fell flat with me. Oh nooo, their handler actually cared for them and felt bad when sending them out to kill got them killed. Gasp. Who could have seen this coming. If only there were some way this could have been avoided. Like, the dude didn't seem like he was seriously trying to get out of Ouroboros for their sake, or doing anything else to try and give them better lives, so his sadness comes off as a little "oh no, not the consequences of my actions!" to me

That said, I did find it interesting for the window it gave us into Ouroboros--namely that their handler seems to have been some kind of low-level enforcer who worked his way up (that whole comment about high-ranking people not normally having visible tattoos). Ouroboros is allegedly interested in NEXT supremacy, but uses NEXTs as little more than attack dogs

Friendship appreciation post

Caroline- caroline is like my secret buddy. She helped me when I had my surgery and took notes for me and recorded all the lectures I missed. She helped me after my break up, she supported my “hoe phase”, she stayed way late after school one day when I was having a low day, she helped me find teachers, she introduced me to people, she deals with me in most classes, we hang out between classes. She’s extremely funny and energetic, and she’s like a mango in a bowl of boring vegetables. She’s litterly my sunshine on a grey school day.

Amy- Amy is the best mom you could have. But she’s also my best friend, we talk almost every day, even if it’s just brief. She’s my aniexty buddy, I honestly couldn’t have survived Highschool without her. She’s so funny, and she’s really fun to be around. She’s also made so much progress that I don’t think gets recognized enough. She also doesn’t make me feel bad or that I’m annoying her. And even tho I tend to push her and tend to be what she considers a terrible influence, she’s a queen. I love her little grandma quirks and everything, to the coin collecting to the am radio.

Victoria- probably my longest best friend, I have known Amy and Noelle forever tho. But Victoria in herself is like a sister. I love her, even when I don’t like her. She’s honestly my sister tho. I could hate her but walking away is never an option. She’s like my sister person. We both work together and like the same music and Disney and like two seperate individuals with so much in common. It’s crazy. And even tho she frustrates me to infinity and beyond, she’s my sister. Our drives home from school are some of my favorite memories, and talking about everyone and having the same thoughts and same jokes. It’s a beautiful sistership. She’s family.

Noelle- is a queen. A musical queen. She’s so funny and has sass. But she’s also shy and says sorry a lot. I have seen her dancing with drunks, I have seen her dancing drunk, I have seen her cry drunk, I have seen her throw back alcohol like it’s water. She’s just so cool to be around. Shes like super adultish, but super young adult tho. She’s also trying to find her comfort zone. She’s so pretty too! She needs to say no more, and make sure she’s thinking about herself. But she’s a really nice sweet and awesome friend. When things were at the lowest she was there for me and supported me, I really hope I can be the same support for her.

Alyx- I love her dancing. I love her in general, but that dancing. Sometimes our thoughts or actions my cross and we may find conflict. But honestly our friendship can always override those hopefully. I want us to be more drinking buddies and party more if we can find time. She’s so dorky and cool and ballsy. She’s figuring herself out and she’s now labeled the hoe of the group, which is supported by her dancing at the club. She’s just a queen. She’s a strong ass woman and I aspire to reach the level of not giving a fuck bad assery she is at. I want multiple piercings and a tattoo. And just a general whole fuck it attitude. She’s also a great mom and tries in her own way to be supportive. And I did like that puzzle video in the sense of life being made up of puzzle pieces. And like all the Reba.

Kierra- Kierra is a tough motherfucker, don’t mess with her. She’s really cool tho, she’s also figuring herself out. She doesn’t socialize with the group as much, but she’s following her own dreams and living her own way. She seems to have the most control of her life compared to the rest of us. But she’s also growing so much. I know she doesn’t like drama, and I know I might be all drama, but she still came to the library that day with me. She went out of her way, and with her being there I felt so much less anixous. She also deals with the dumb questions I ask her about her life when I probably should know it’s not appropriate. I’m really excited to see how she finds uni and how she grows more.

Gabe- Gabe is a babe, he texts me everyday even tho we don’t talk that often due to me not having time or having anything to talk about. He comes out when I ask him to hang out and he deals with all my emotional bullshit. He lets me bug him and he tells me when I’m being dumb or not. He also knows I’m right most the time and he lets me know my worth. He deals with the times when I cries and makes sure I’m okay and laughing.

Josh- most selfless perosn I know. He’s now super old, but he’s my work husband. Our talk in my car that one night was life changing, he ultimately made me realize my self worth and saw why my relationship ending was much needed. He dealt with so many of my problems. Now he’s currently going through some things and I want to make sure I give him the same safe feeling he gave me about the future.

I have many friends, and many more people I could put on this list, but those people don’t equal to the same amount of friendship worth as the ones listed above.

Blindspot 3x05 recap

Aka the one where all my sons are idiots and all my daughters are precious angels who deserve all the hugs.

Late again, because when am I not? Again, I blame the travelling.

So I’m kinda intrigued by this pair; the bleeding, accented woman and the young guy with an American accent in what seems to be a super-dingy bathroom? What is going on here??

Patterson has been doing some fancy analysing of the adoption records and yeppp, Jane definitely had a kid. And ugh Patterson is so sweet and gentle about it and has done so much research so she could give Jane ALL the info and Jane is just Not Dealing. But hmmm Patterson tells her there’s no way to test if she’s had a child and lbr that’s not exactly true? A good ObGyn could generally tell just by looking at the cervix. Not a perfect measure, but it’s definitely an option. But anyhow Jane is too busy flipping out anyway, and ugh she mentions the Taylor Shaw thing and already having everything ripped away from her multiple times and man my heart just hurts for her rn. And Weller’s so at a loss for what to do or how to comfort her ugh my poor babies

Lol Reade and Zapata and their little Wizardville rivalry is super cute. And then she’s completely open with him and asks him directly about the State Department Guy thing and wow Reade just harshly shuts her down. I’m glad Patterson interrupts this little moment because it was definitely going nowhere good. But speaking of things that ARE good, omg I love her pun about the ‘backbone’ of the case and Weller being all killjoy about it haha. That’s right, honey, just ignore him. Your humour is too good for him anyway. And so anyhow the tatt leads to a NYPD evidence log number, though Zapata notes that the code is different to what the NYPD uses now, and Reade gets super snarky at her for it. Geez son, learn some manners! Patterson backs Zapata up tho (yaaassss my girls), showing that the code is like 20 years old. Jeller go to check out the warehouse it points to while Zapata is given paperwork by Reade (wow, petty), though tbh Zapata ends up with the better deal since Jeller have to fight some bad guys and literally put out a fire. Ugh the way Jane yells for him as she tries to fight the fire alone-- it’s only when its the two of them together that they manage to extinguish it. Symbolism, much? Patterson calls right at that moment to warn them to get out, and it’s a little late, but well, it’s the thought that counts haha. Other warehouses have been burned, which means someone is trying super hard to destroy evidence but doesn’t know where it is. Jane, because she’s amazing, finds the box they nee-- and in it is a whole bunch of untested rape kits going back 20 years. I love the conversation the guys have about the low priority assigned to sexual assault testing-- it’s some good commentary from the writers about the state of the real world.

Meanwhile, Stuart’s phone has been found in the river, and both Patterson and Zapata are very suspicious of the way Reade basically tells her to leave it alone. Looking super suss rn, bro, and I do not like it at allll.

However, I really DO like listening to Jane speak in other languages. So damn cool. And as someone who is currently staying in a foreign country and communicating solely in the local tongue, I have a renewed respect for her fluency lol. Their Russian suspect conveniently elects to speak English though haha. How handy. He’s a bit of a tough guy but through a sneaky move on Jeller’s part, he gives them the info they need-- how he got paid, which gives them a lead on the people hiring him. Patterson also drops another pun, which is three so far this ep and I’m so proud. She also figures out that the the victim was likely linked to Kazarus, which as far as I’m aware is a fake place though tbh my geography is not super great. But anyhow, that narrows their search to two sexual assault survivors.

And then aww Patterson pulls Weller aside and tries to support him about the whole surprise-kid thing, and ugh she’s just so sweet and wants to help both him and Jane as best she can. But he’s upset bc he knows he can’t fix this; no one can. I guess it all just takes time, right? Meanwhile Jane’s in the locker room, getting a call from Roman, and dude he really knew the whole time?? And ugh if she was sixteen when she had the baby (to her high school sweetheart aww) then he was probably about 14 at the time, just a kid himself who had suddenly become an uncle, and man I’m so sad for them both?? But lol she gets to the bullpen and covers the phone while practically yelling for them to trace the call. Not super subtle, Jane. And he tells her she initially fought Shepherd on giving the baby away and then she just ran away? I’m confused. I guess we now understand a bit more about why Remi joined the army though I guess. Not sure how she ever went back to working for Shepherd, though, but maybe she saw the memory wipe as a way out? And Beardy was meant to fill her in on everything including the kid. Idk. Jane’s now having a small breakdown in the locker room and decides she has to go see Shepherd, but Weller’s right when he says that Shepherd would just mess with her head. Don’t give her the satisfaction, Jane! And oh look, a mention of Bethany, haven’t had one of those in a while. And tbh that’s the way I like it, show, so keep ignoring her existence please haha.

In the lab, Patterson admits defeat about Stuart’s phone-- it’s as dead as he is. (Too soon??) But Zapata didn’t spend all that time at the CIA without gaining a few skills in the realms of deception and deviousness, and so they hatch a plan to bluff and lure out the possible mole. And then a lab tech in a headscarf calls them to see something, and the panning shot of the lab also shows another tech in a turban. Firstly, I approve of some diversity happening here, and secondly, I hope that this casting choice was deliberate so there would be people that looked at those characters and went “the traitor has to be one of them” so that when it’s shown that the traitor is someone else, the people watching have to examine just why it was that they thought either of these two background characters were guilty. (Hint: it’s racism!). Anyhow, the rape kit in question has been tested, and it turns out the rapist is the king of Kazarus. Or, the former king, since he died and his brother has assumed the throne. The only spanner in the works being that the rape resulted in a child, who, as per the Kazarussian monarchy, is the rightful heir to the throne. Which naturally means that Scar’s gotta have him taken out. Now we know who we saw at the start of the ep-- the kid and his mother, who was clearly attacked by the assassins but escaped. Now it’s a race for the team to find them before the Kazarussians do.

And then who appears but Weitz, who is now a congressman, and conveniently an expert on Kazarus. I love that everyone looks at Hirst and she’s all “Don’t look at me, Darlins” and how is someone using ‘darling’ in plural like that so damn endearing??? The accent is what truly makes it though, obviously. But nope, it was Reade who called him, which is just another in the list of things Reade has done lately that we do not like. Weitz manages to make everyone hate him even more within mere seconds of showing up, and tbh I love to hate him. His antagonism towards Zapata is hilarious. I like that even Hirst gives him some shit lol. Atta girl. Anyhow Weitz informs them that the ex-king’s brother Cyrus is a Bad Dude and there’s a bunch of american soldiers in Kazarus that are now at risk, and yep the stakes have just been raised

Reade gets called into the principal’s office to discuss his little spat with Zapata. How exactly does Hirst know about that, though? Though I guess if she’s paid attention to any of their interactions today then she probably could have figured it out. I’m offended that he calls Zapata a busybody?? But then he does at least say that she’s nothing to worry about and that she’s a friend. What do you two have to hide though??? Meanwhile in the lab, Patterson has found the kid by examining the curtains in a video that the kid sent to his gf. That’s my lil genius. Of course it’s super convenient that this type of curtain is only made for a specific motel chain, but whatevs, I’ll let it slide as I do with many things in this show haha. I love Zapata teasing Weitz though, suggesting that it was all too smart for him and went over his head haha

Jane’s clearly taking this case pretty personally-- and tbh it does seem veeeeeeeery convenient that there’s a case that resonates so closely with her current situation, until you remember that this time around, all the tattoos are specifically designed by Roman to be revealed in a certain order, so it makes total sense that the case matches stuff going on in their personal lives. More sense than when it happened in the last two seasons, so touche, writers. You win this round. Anyway they get to the hotel, and the kid immediately pulls a gun on them. His mom’s not looking too good though, kinda bleeding out a little on the bed, and ugh Jane does her frightened-animal whisperer thing and convinces the kid to let her help his mom. Naturally he chooses to trust her bc lbr wouldn’t you?? They get his mom to the hospital where she’s super well guarded, and he tells them about only learning at 18 about his mother’s attack. And he only learned yesterday about the whole king thing, and tells them he’ll never go to Kazarus. You just know that Jane is thinking about her baby and how the kid probably wouldn’t want to know her as they must think she abandoned them, and ugh it hurts. Why must you do this, show?

Back in the lab Patterson and Zapata have set their trap, and are waiting to see who falls into it-- only they don’t like the answer. According to her computer, Reade logged into the system to delete the files. Patterson is grim; she doesn’t like it, but she’s ready to believe it. When Zapata tries to insist that Reade wouldn’t do it, that he’s family, Patterson just reminds her: Borden was family too. And ugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I do not like this at all. I am so done with leaks and moles and traitors and all of it ugh. I do appreciate Weitz for making me smile here; Zapata is back at her desk and he throws a paper airplane at her, then feigns confusion, looking around for who could have done it. Tbh I actually do ship these two a little bit. All the bickering just does it for me lol. She gives him shit about probably not going to be re-elected, but he says he’s doing great in the polls. She says polls have been wrong before-- and is that some political commentary I hear? Man who was the writer of this ep because they are not pulling punches today. Reade comes over and tries to mend bridges, which tbh tastes a little sour after he was such an asshole this morning... give him nothing, Zapata!

Looks like Yasmine is gonna live, which is nice. She and Jane bond a little over protecting kids etc while Weller and the kid go to get something from the vending machine--- and ugh when they’re coming back Wller notices their guard from the door is gone and pushes the kid behind him. I love protective Weller. I also love Weller throwing an injured woman over his shoulder and carrying her to safety. Damn. He also proved pretty smart-- when they realised that the baddies were on their FBI comms, he bluffed and reported that they were headed for the roof while they escaped out the front door instead. Nice. Though why do I feel like that escape was too easy?

Patterson has figured out that it’s not Reade that’s tampering with their evidence, but someone else using his login. She confesses to Zapata about the backdoor that Wizardville gives her into people’s phones, and says she’s never used it before, which isn’t true though right?? Didn’t she use it on that Lowie guy’s lawyer a few eps ago? Anyway Zapata doesn’t care about the illegal biz, she just wants to hear her best(?) friend’s name cleared. Turns out he wasn’t even in the building when someone used an FBI computer to access their files, so that’s at least looking good for him, even if it is bad for them as a whole

Weller reports in, and the team tracks their phones and immediately sends backup-- but too late, considering that the baddies have laid out a trap for them. Was this why it was so easy for them to get away?? Jeller manage to take out several bad dudes on their own, but not before one of them manages to molotov-cocktail their car, which blows up moments later. Dude that’s one potent cocktail… but ugh they all make it to safety, with Weller again literally carrying Yasmine, and ugh the mother and son hug and the husband and wife hug and it’s just a very poignant moment okay?? Also there’s just something really beautiful about the way Jane hugs, I can’t even really describe it. Anyhow they all make it back to the NYO, where the rest of the team (plus Weitz, in his own way) are super glad to see them alive. After a minute Zapata and Patterson sneak off, because Patterson needs to tell her the news-- the person using Reade’s login was Hirst. She’s sure because of biometric software that she runs on all of their computers, and again, man I’m super glad that these powers are in the hands of someone trustworthy like Patterson haha. But ugh this means my honey-accented cool aunt is a baddie?? She even knew that Lowie guy from a few eps ago. Well, bummer. Still holding out for the possibility that there’s more to it, but things aren’t looking great...

Oh dear, King Cyrus was murdered, and the Kazarussians are demanding their heir. Which really sucks for the kid, and Jane and Weller try to protect him, but he’s determined to go and to make things better for his fellow Kazarussians. And lbr, to have to go become king is not the worst thing??

Wow Patterson and Zapata actually went to Reade to warn him about Hirst. I don’t know why that surprises me, but it does. I would have done some more surveillance or something first? But anyway he is really not taking it well, and kinda attacks both of them a bit over it. And wait he’s known Hirst since he was in Quantico??? That’s news to me. And not good news, either. Please don’t be dirty, Reade. Please…

Jeller are recovering at home after a pretty damn rough day. Jane has changed her mind about finding her daughter-- she wants her just to have a happy, stable life, and that willl be far easier if she never knows Jane exists. And he just hugs her bc what can you do to make that pain better? Nothing, that’s what. She’s going to mourn her connection with her daughter for the rest of her life and ugh it just really sucks

Oh no a time jump, nothing good ever follows a time jump. And oh shit it’s Berlin. Weller’s having no luck with a rude hotel employee, which I find super unbelievable because a) he’s front desk staff at a fancy hotel, b) the person asking him for help is a man clearly traumatised about his missing wife, and c) he’s German. Him being rude makes no sense. But it does give this girl a cool opening to come help Weller out, and man I am jealous of her German speaking skills. Like I said earlier, it’s not easy!! But wait, there’s more. The girl is not only American, but she’s looking for Jane. Her mother, Jane. And oh Weller, you stupid, stupid boy. You foolish, well-meaning idiot. I am sure that your reasons for not telling Jane about this are all purely to protect her (although I also suspect you’re trying to protect yourself from her leaving you again) but dude. DUDE. This is not the kind of secret you should ever keep, and honestly if Jane leaves your ass when she finds out the truth I’m gonna be on her side of the split. Ugh, my stupid son when will you ever LEARN

What does it mean to be an Ala Mhigan? It's rarely an academic question. Rather, it seems to cut to the bare bone in a way few others are capable. Big, dumb, trouble, vagrant, lazy. Refugee. Tough, strong, iron-willed. Dangerous. Every Ala Mhigan to be found in free land has abandoned his homeland in one way or another. That seems to be the rub. The salt in the wound. Its left a mark that doesn't want to rub off. And every Ala Mhigan knows this, whether they'll admit it or not. Some its never seemed to bother. Minding his shop, the smithy Osvald is as happy and satisfied as he will be. As Ishgardian as he is Ala Mhigan, he was young enough to adjust, adapt, and start over. He found his life's calling in a trade. He'll be happy as long as he practices. Wherever that may be. To others it meant opportunity; a fresh start without all the strictures of established society. Raubhan, the mighty warrior become General. Never could he have found such power and influence in the land of his birth. The red-haired Bohanon, wild and free as he roams the streets of Ul'dah ruling the city a block at a time with the gang. But for some it means a past that can never be forgotten. One to be clung to, and whose recovery brings all other priorities into question. Kael has never forgotten the family estate. Never relinquished the claim to that which would be his. Entering middle-age he dreams of abandoning his young Ishgardian family to strive for glory and revenge in the homeland. To restore honor to their name, and return to their rightful place where their ancestors fought and died. And for others? It is a duty that demands nothing short of a zealous self-sacrifice. Then, there are those who wish they were like them. Heji, is her name. 'Hellion' more commonly. An Ala Mhigan in the classic mold: tall, powerful, fierce as the wind that batters that highland realm. She's known on the Sands for her strength and body--for her war cry, and ruggedness. But there's more to her than that: honed technique, experience, and a certain grace that under girds the ferocity. She's been a friend of mine for a long time. We were rivals once upon a time. When my career was ending, and hers just beginning. We won't discuss the record. We don't mention it any more. Vision stirring. Everything is... I've taken a new student some while back. And when she asked about unarmed training I knew there was no one better to engage for instruction. That's when I introduced the Hellion to the Fox. There was the Hellion, well over six foot of sculpted muscle. One side of her head shaved. Covered with menacing tattoos. And the Fox - with her manicured nails, and figure fit for sculpture. Red. Is that blood? My blood? Its all over the sand... I won't admit to being wrong. No, there was no better education I could have offered. The Fox is a quick student, though I'd have never believed it when I first met her. Neither as dainty nor as foolish as she seems. Numb... numb... bleary... But as the Hellion landed another blow I knew it had gone too far. An instructor doesn't land a punishing blow against a helpless student. Not with this sort of viciousness. Not long into this session she'd taken the Fox down with a quick sweep. It wasn't exactly a fair strike, from a professional with hundreds of bouts worth of experience, against a student focused on learning. And then she'd shifted gears, using the woman's momentary helplessness to force her into a blind submission with her fist. ........ "Enough!" I leapt from the stone where I'd been observing and strode out toward the pair. "Enough!" I hollered again. But the woman responded with yet another blow, this one directly to the face. This, you must understand, was strictly against the terms of our employment. The Fox makes her living with her face, more than anything, and she hadn't wanted to risk her living for this. Not yet, at least. Sure, I threatened her about it all the time. She didn't wear any protection. It raised the stakes. Kept her on her toes, as it were. But my threats were for show. To make her worry. To make her work harder. To keep her on edge. This was altogether different. This was punishment. "Damnit, Heji! Enough already, you know she's the one paying you!" The woman did stop. In a sense. She turned her attention to me. Rage burning in fierce eyes. "I'd do this for free, old man. Its what this bitch deserves!" For Twelve's sake. There's not enough gil in Lolorito's vaults for this. "What the hells are you on about, woman!? Get off her already!" By now Lunk had started up too. The big guy was always a little slow to get on his feet. I knew I might need the reinforcement. "Thinking she should just dance around the desert, looking pretty for all these gods-damned money-bags while we're fighting; DYING! for our homeland!" The Hellion had raised her voice to a shout. Just short of the war cry that had made her famous. I raised my oaken stick - what sort of weapon is that against a mistress of the unarmed arts you might ask? Lets not discuss the record of our past matches, okay? - and then I slammed it into the ground as hard as I could. That finally startled her into jumping to her feet. What was... that... sound... why can't I see? This was just fantastic, really. Why am I always surrounded by Ala Mhigans with all the damned chips on their shoulders? Everywhere I go it seems to be Ala Mhigans everywhere, and not a one of them seems to have any sense! "What sort of stupid shit is this?" I asked, incredulous. "Why aren't you out at Baelsar's Wall if its so important to you?" With that she took a mighty swing my way. I won't say that it was unexpected. Well, not entirely. The breeze that brushed against my cheek told me everything I had to know about her earnestness. "My brother just died up there, you son of a bitch!" Well. This didn't seem like it was going to end well. Where the hell was Lunk any... the sound of his mailed fist smashing into the Hellion gave me some joy, I'll freely admit. I... can... For a moment she sprawled onto the ground, and the big fella recoiled at what he'd done. It wasn't his style to gang up on someone, especially not a woman. The Hellion spit blood. She'd have it no other way. Rising to her feet she wiped her forearm along her lips. "Oh so now you want to fight, huh, fuck head? Going to defend your fairy princess, is that it?" She snarled. It wasn't a pleasant look, that one. "You know, there's one thing you just don't seem to understand." I said, as calmly as I could muster. "Oh, what's that old man?" she glared at me. I rested on my oaken stick. "She may look a might weak. But she likes nothing more than being underestimated. And..." "She's a spoiled bitch..." "She doesn't give up," I finished. "... just a bitch who's forgotten where she came! And I'm going to fuckin' give her a reminder she'll never forget!" The Hellion turned to look for the princess. But she never quite found her. The form of the kick was, I must say, perfect. She'd been taking her lessons well. The snap of her lower leg was directed precisely into tho back of the Hellion's knee. The larger woman crumpled in a surprised instant. But its not the initial strike that is the most important. The Hellion always stresses this. First you disrupt balance. You create the opening that allows you to get inside their defenses. Once inside it was the next move that was the most important. It must be aimed for victory, whatever the goal of the bout. From a pin, to a deathblow. It really didn't matter what the end result was, this was always the moment to strike for it. The lesson always seemed to sit well with the Fox. She'd told me once upon a time she'd lived among Wolves, and they taught her the same lesson. I had an inkling of what she meant. As the Hellions back touched the sand her assailant had already pounced. Her entire body was in the air. One arm locked the other in place. It was a fore-arm drop, aimed to the momentarily helpless woman's throat. With her full weigh behind it, it could have been the end. A crushed wind pipe and a painful death. The strike was pulled at the last moment. Instead the Fox locked her arm around the woman's neck. As the Hellion struggled against the sleep-hold a terrifying grin took hold of her curled lips. "So.. she has fight in her..." she rasped before passing out. We walked back toward the city in some silence. Lunk helped the Fox along, with that gentle concern of his. The price for the day's lesson had been steep. No poultice would handle this. No mere cosmetic could disguise the punishment suffered by her usually smiling features. We'd thrown her cloak over her as best we could. Not that anyone likely would have recognized her in this state. "You're going to need a healer..." I suggested, hoping she already knew of one to visit. "I know who..." she replied. And off we went. For some, to be Ala Mhigan is little more than an accident of fate. To others, it is the very meaning of life itself. But none who bear that name can fail to consider its importance. To them. To others. What of the Fox? Politics where never her game, as much a I could gather. She cares about people. A smile means more to her than an army. A satisfied life: in Ishgard, in Ul'dah, in Ala Mhigo, more than any ancient banner or name. The future more than history. That's my take, at least. But maybe you should just try asking her.

Late Night Ramblings

Going to bed but here are my final thoughts before I pass out

I really wanna get into sculpting- the first thing I wanna do Is make a mask that’s basically Deuce’s Swan Song mask. I know Deuce is a big ass most of the time but I do have a lot of respect for the guy admittedly- he tries his hardest to talk with his fans as much as possible. Lots of his music is good too, and he IS a bit inspiring admittedly, of course, far from ideal, but IMO he really shows that sometimes you gotta grin and bear what people think and say with you and just keep being you, no matter what you did in the past.

Danny’s mask would be fun to sculpt too, but I really wanna do this mask design I spent like 3 hours on lol. Its this 3-part stitched mask, yellow and green. Theres teeth and blood. I like teeth and blood. If I knew how, I’d love to sculpt a spring loaded jaw for the mask too. That’d be awesome, y’know, just opening your mouth and closing it while having some cool mask with it. I don’t know where I’d buy the springs. I also don’t know how to put it together... Fuck I don’t even know where I can buy decent straps for a mask, since I cant really stand the feeling on twine or elastic strings. Supplies is expensive either way- I’d have to buy 4lbs apoxie sculpt to be be safe, some tools, a strap or two, paint, sanding blocks... Its a lot.

I would love to style my hair to be like LightningClaw’s lol. Bright pink/red color, yellow streaks, hair hiding an eye. It’d be cool, but I dont have thick enough hair nor do I have the patience to wait for hair to grow back after I cut it, because I KNOW if I do cut it like LC’s, I’ll probably get bored of it.

Speaking of LC- his old design was a mess lmao. It was basically one of my other characters, Karasu, but with his signature bright ass hair, and then his yellow bangs. What a mess lol. Its also fun to see how far LC has come as a character. Before he was an edgy warriors FOC. The regular insane murderer edition (like 90% of other warriors FOCs lol.) Now he has his own comic that deals with serious issues while also having an adventreous twist with greek gods.

Tattoo’s. Tat’s are rad as fuck man. I want so many tattoos but its like putting a permanent sticker on your body and I’m not sure I can actually commit to that. Though, on the back on my neck, I plan to get LIGHTNINGCLAW written on it. LC means a lot to me and without him I don’t think I’d be where I am now, as a person, artist, and a writer. Knuckle tats that say SHIT and FUCK would be ideal too lol but I think my family wouldn’t approve of those. t least I’m not doing drugs I guess. Could be worse. Tattoo sleeves are amazing too omg. I just really love tats and wouldn’t mind becoming a tattoo artist, but of course my dad and mom are like “that isn’t where the money is that isnt an ideal job think of the consequences if you mess up on someones body are you willing to commit to tattoos yourself blah blah blah.” Just let me figure things out. Let me try different jobs to see where I end up. I don’t want to follow any roads you two may want me to go to. I’m not going to be a doctor, nor a teacher, nor any overly common jobs. I don’t want to go into the sciences either. Thats not interesting for me. I want to go to a hands on job that I can have fun at.

Hollywood Undead is a good band and I want a new single already. Deuce is a good singer and I want that album already because Bad Attitude is the SHIT. Its awesome. I want Linkin Park to not be pop realllly badly when they drop that album- I didn’t like Heavy in the slighest. I wonder when FOb will release a song tho lol. I like music.

I’m happy to have met and known a lot of people over the years, and so many have stuck with me. I can’t believe I started on wattpad and I’m actually slowly getting somewhere. I can make commissions now, albeit it takes a bit before I can and I do a lot of trades in between, but the more art you do, the more you really get “out there” and really expand your horizons. Even then, just generally being nice to people can get you places because you ahve friendships in those places. Its nice. I’m thankful.

On the flipside, there was some people shos ultimate goal is to ruin my life, it seems. This one kid, his name is Avery, he’s an ass. I don’t get why you gotta talk shit about my back and make my life hell with you “friends” when its more like a posse or a mob. Its because of people like you I felt so lonely most of my years. Whatever rumours you and your shitgang of minions said about me completely stained me as a person and I don’t even know what you said. Say shit to my face so I can punch it back into your mouth you stale fruitcake. If I took a shot everytime someone said I wasn’t like how you or your friends said I was, and that I was actually *gasp* NICE; I’d have fucking alchohol poisoning and need to get my stomach pumped out. Its happened way too much and I swear, when I graduate, I’m gonna meet you somewhere and punch your face so hard your grandchildren (though I doub’t you’ll have any with a personality like yours) will be able to feel it. I don’t know why you think you are entited to treat someone like shit but its all for the wrong reasons you fuckwad.
