I just got an idea for whump Ronance.
What if Robin and Nancy gets captured by Brenner?
Like, they end up becoming his new lab rats. Thry get tortured and abused just like El was.
What do you think?
(Also, what kind of powers do you think they would have respectively?)
Anon I am so sorry i wrote a long asf response to this and then it got deleted and I was so mad I didn't want to do it again but now I feel inspired and motivated to give it another try.
SO. Wonderful concept! I love it! Let me share my thoughts!!
So what I came up with is:
At age 15, they both get lost in the Upside Down. They only vaguely knew about the other's existance from school but when they found each other down there, they became inseparable. This is an AU in which Will never went missing. Anyway they're terrified and starving and exhausted but at least they have each other, and they hold hands almost the entire time because they both desperately need the comfort.
Eventually, they make it out on their own after finding a gate... and it's in the Hawkins Lab. They come out on the other end before the unbelieving eyes of dozens of scientists, who were convinced no one would survive a minute in there without the proper equipment. Yet these trembling, starving young girls covered in grit survived with only the clothes on their back for a week.
Brenner recognizes them immediately - Nancy and Robin, the two girls from the missing person posters circulating through town. Everyone already thinks they're dead. They made fake bodies of them, for Christ' sake, he's not letting this opportunity go, especially after the disappearance of his only remaining test subject, 011.
This will be a new experiment. A different one. They are given different numbers for ir - A01 for Nancy and A02 for Robin. They get that tattooed in their arms. The purpose of the experiment is to study the effects of short-term exposure to the Upside Down on humans of their height, s.ex, age, health status and weight. They call themselves doctors. They give them separate rooms and run a series of tests daily on them. They try to be subtle at first as to not scare them too much - they don't want another 011 - so they call them by their real names for a while. They ask questions about their lives before the Upside Down and reassure them this is meant to test radiation levels - a standard procedure, before they can return them to their parents.
They immediatelly call bullshit. Why can't they talk to their parents now? Why can't they see them through a glass, at least, or a camera, if radiation is what they're worried about? Why won't they tell them what that place was or why it led back to the Lab? Do their families know they're safe? What is going on? They ask so many questions about every procedure ran on them, resisting in more and more extreme ways until the scientists need to tie them down and drug them whenever they want to do anything.
Brenner notices similar brain activity in them to that of his old test subjects, and he suspects the Upside Down might have given them some kind of ability. He keeps them in the rainbow room, hoping each other's company will help them develop their powers, yet for a long time nothing comes. They can't move objects with their mind, or astral project, or open gates. Even despite everything they do to them. Despite every horrible procedure they perform on them. Drugs of all kinds, leaving them delirious and weak for days. Electrocompulsive therapy. Hypnosis. Pain tests. Sensory deprivation. Solitary confinement. Brenner wants to activate their powers in one way or another, desperate after losing subject 011.
(It's terrifying each time. Nancy is invaded by pure rage while Robin is paralyzed by fear. Whenever they take one for a procedure, the other waits impatiently for her return, fully concious of what they're doing to her - or so it seems. Nancy, at least, thinks she knows what they're doing to Robin. She thinks they do the same things they do to her - tie her to a chair, put an IV in her, maybe, or stick a needle into her neck. Brenner will do this while casually telling her she'll only feel a small pinch, before doing such a monstruosity to her that she'll be woken up by seizures at night. It takes Robin some time to tell Nancy the truth).
They seem completely useless for a long time, but that changes the moment they capture a russian agent.
He was a scientist, working from an unknown location beneath Hawkins, trying to get intel from the Lab when he was caught and tortured to extract information from him. Robin wasn't usually allowed to wander the halls alone, but someone left the door unlocked and she was curious, and soon she found herself in front of a closed door, hearing panting and ragged breathing after this man received the beating of his life. He was talking to himself - curses and meanderings about death and whether or not he'd see his family again. Robin, despite having never learned Russian, understood everything, and in a perfect accent she began to talk to him. She didn't know why - she didn't even realize they weren't speaking English. For a moment he thought he was being rescued, and he shared with her a lot of information.
Brenner caught her in the act and severaly punished her. Solitary confinement for one week. She would only see other people when they ran tests on her, and even then they wouldn't speak to her at all. He ended up not living up to his threat when, not two days after the event, he noticed her brain activity going wild. He has fascinated, and he asked her what had happened, if that russian spy gave her something like a drug. "Russian?" she asks, only then understanding what had happened.
They believe her powers are related to xenoglossy, the supernatural ability to know a language without having ever learned it. Something extremely useful in that specific historical context. She'd be an incredible spy, and oh, Brenner can't wait to experiment with this. They kill the spy after she tells them everything he told her.
They begin to give her a special treatment over Nancy - not exactly for the better. Brenner wants to understand this new ability, developed not in the womb like in other subjects but when subject A02 is a teenager, possibly caused by exposure to Upside Down radiation, though that's not confirmed. Maybe it had more to do with their experiments. He thinks he hit a dead end when it's revealed Robin already knew intermediate-to-advanced French, Spanish and Italian from before being captured - she'd be just a regular poltglot in that case, a prodigious one, right, but with nothing of interest for Brenner. But he quickly realizes this is not the case. Robin didn't know a word of Russian before, and he develops a hipothesis he'll spend the following year testing. He tries her ability with different languages, escaling on rarity, complexity and distance from English. From reading a single short text, Robin becomes profient in Finnish - a non-indoeuropean language Brenner doubts she's ever had any contact with. Proficient, but not fluent. It seems like she can very easily extract a language's grammar from a short sample text, applying it to terms she's familiar with, but she can't magically "guess" vocabulary of grammatical rules not present in the material she was given. For example, by reading a text in which all 15-16 grammatical cases of Finnish are present, she will be able to apply them to any noun in nominative case she knows, but she can't do it with nouns she doesn't know, and she can't use grammatical cases not present in the sample text given to her. She also can't guess spelling or pronunciation without both text and audio samples, and she can't speak in accents she hasn't heard (though she can easily switch accents in a way native speakers of the language can't, a skill that is curiously not translated (lol) into her native English). She learns faster with audio than with text, but even faster with a real-time conversation. Brenner brings a colleague who is fluent in Japanese to test her and he's amazed by how quick her progress is. His hipothesis, seemingly now proven, was that hers was an entirely mental skill, not a supernatural one, since she doesn't magically have access to languages she never had any contact with. This would make her ability not real xenoglossy.
A few more fun facts about her "power":
Her pre-existing skill with Spanish, French and Italian didn't improve until she was exposed to these languages again after being captured. She becomes incredibly skilled at solving puzzles and cracking codes. Brenner believes her power developed thanks to her intensive studies in languages through her childhood. Her brain activity is similar to that of non-native speakers of a language during the few first minutes of having contact with a new language, but in less than an hour, it will be the same as with native speakers. She's confused by some reconstructed languages, but not others (Proto-Indoeuropean was easy for her to learn, Proto-Uralic took her some time before learning more finno-ugric languages than just Finnish. If this were happening in the 2000s, when the Dené-Caucasian theory was already formalized, then Proto-Dené-Caucasian would have sounded like absolute gibberish to her). Some of Brenner's colleages hipothesize that her knowledge of living languages help inform her of the grammar and syntax of proto-languages in an extremely accurate way, to the point she subconciously knows when a reconstruction is wrong. This would make her an amazing paleolinguist. Brenner is less interested in the reconstruction of ancient turkic languages in Siberia and more interested her use as a spy and code-breaker - though it wouldn't have hurt him to take a second look at the idea of turkic languages, because that Russian agent, he was from a region of Russia called Tartary, and he spoke another language aside from Russian, the Tartar language, though he never got to speak it in Robin's presence. Brenner and his colleagues, not familiar with the vast diversity of languages on Earth, spend a long time working with an incorrect hypothesis because they couldn't notice Robin speaking Tartar to herself as a distinct language from all the others they were teaching her. A year and a a half passes before someone spent enough time listening to her to notice the difference. It's a discovery that shatters completely Brenner's first hypothesis on the absence of a supernatural element in Robin's ablity, and he's once again fascinated when he discovers it. His new hypothesis: Robin's power grants her access to a person's mind through speaking to them in a strange, confusing way, and he can't wait to destroy her, pick her brain apart and figure out how it works even if he kills her in the process.
In fact, he does. Literally. He does it over and over and over again, and Nancy has to watch it happen time and time again.
Because here's the thing: Robin wasn't the only one to develop powers, and in fact, she wasn't even the first one.
If you've heard of the videogame Life is Strange, anon, then you'll understand Nancy's power here: she can rewind time. Her power is pretty much the same as Max's in LiS - she can rewind time up to a certain point, though it causes a great mental strain, and eventually, she will discover she can time travel to specific points in time through photographs she's present in, as her younger self.
She discovers her powers the first time Robin is killed.
Misbehavior got her punished - solitary confinement after a long testing session. She had an overdose in her cell, and no one noticed in time. Nancy barely remembers what happened then, other than the horror she felt, before the events of the day flashed backwards before her eyes and she was brought back to Robin - warm, alive, breathing - in the rainbow room.
She begged her to do as they said, to behave, to not fight back. Robin is confused but Nancy is in tears and she agrees to do as she says.
This time, when she has an overdose, they treat her on time. She was in a comma for a week, but soon she was back on her feet and back in Nancy's arms.
It keeps happening - over and over again. The time she swallowed her own tongue during a seizure because Nancy didn't hold her right, and she had to try over four times (and watch her choke and die four times) before she got it right. The time she didn't die - but she lost her ability to speak after hours of electroculpulsive therapy, and she had her fake an illness so they would submit her to less aggressive procedures. It happened again when, after a similar trial, she forgot her own parents and thought the scientists were her parents. But she mostly just died. Over, and over, and over again. Mostly from overdose or brain damage during seizures, but one time, she was purposely asphixiated during a test. To this point Nancy still isn't sure what was it that they wanted to test with that. She suspects it was just torture for the sake of torture. To break her, somehow.
Nancy is terrified of long-term effects of all of this on Robin's health. She's scared the damage will cross the point of no return too early, to a point she can't go back to, a point in which she can't stop it. She can hold Robin's head during a seizure but she can't stop the seizures, and the lasting damage they leave.
Robin is aware of Nancy's powers. Nancy didn't even have to prove them to her - she believed her immediately whe she told her, and she trusts her judgment completely. If Nancy tells her it's better to do X, you can bet Robin will be doing X. Robin doesn't tell Nancy about her newfound ability immediately - she doesn't want her to worry about something she can do nothing about. But she does share it with her, after some time. She felt the need to explain to Nancy why the sudden interest on her. Nancy worries about her Robin so much, so so much, because she's just become Brenner's favorite new toy, and he'll do anything and everything to exploit her. She's in much more danger than Nancy is, and Nancy wishes she could take her place, make herself into Brenner's toy, draw attention away from Robin, but they both know the best they can do for their safety is to keep Nancy's invisible power secret. Nancy hates herself for not being able to take Robin's pain for her.
They escape one day. It's a complicated plan including short-distance time travel, manipulating russian spies through a stolen radio, several forms of treason and going out the same way they came in - through the portal. Nancy does her best to keep them safe with her power as they search for the other gate, the one they first crossed three years ago. And then, they're out. They're found unconcious on the side of the road.
They wake up a few days later in the hospital, surrounded by their families. Nancy's brother, Mike, has a new friend - a quiet girl with long brown hair and a 011 tattoed on her wrist, and she knows she needs to speak to her desperately, but she's exhausted, so for the time being, she'll sleep for some time, feeling almost at peace now, knowing Robin is safe and in the good hands of doctors.

black magic [01]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
REQUEST. arranged marriage + enemies to lovers (sukuna is a simp and lowkey a housewife)
CONTENT/WARNINGS. some suggestive scenes, but overall fluff and romance! slight crack fic, I guess? I was laughing when I wrote this lol
NOTES. I NEED A HUSBAND! SUKUNA I’M GOING TO CRY GOODBYE THIS HAS ME SOFT. also anon i’m not sure if you wanted something with more ~sexual tension~ since this is kind of just comedic, but I hope you like it anyway!
part one | part two (nsfw)
Tumblr media
“This is new,” you comment with a glare, your ankle propped on Sukuna’s knee.
“Shut up,” he rolls his eyes, pushing your skirt aside to clean the wounds you attained through exorcising curses. You’ve taken a particularly strong curse today and you’re caught off guard, barely finishing the mission unscathed. Limping all the way back home isn’t easy especially since you live on top of the darned mountain, but if Sukuna’s going to kneel in front of you like this...maybe it wasn’t too tough a journey. “You should stop going to missions you’re not ready for. Look at you, all wounded and bloody.”
“You sound like you care.”
“You’re my wife,” he huffs while dropping the bloody towel on the floor. Sukuna wraps the bandage around your ankle and carries you bridal style even though you’re perfectly capable of walking, but he shoots you a silencing glare. You’d have knocked him in the face any other day, but he’s particularly warm and smells nice today – plus you’re beat – that you bury your face in his chest, ignoring that stupid fluttering in your stomach. “Of course I do.”
You snicker, mind tracing back to your earlier years of this dreaded marriage.
It definitely wasn’t the best – the memories blurring between strangling each other to making out as if breathing was never a thing – and it felt like forever ago when you first met him.
You’d never say it out loud, but... you don’t regret this arranged marriage. Not when Sukuna is tucking himself beside you on the bed, your head above his muscular chest a place similar to home. He covers both your bodies over with a blanket, pulling your body closer to him with a strong arm, his lips pressing onto the crown of your head.
Ugh, you think to yourself, giving in to the need to cuddle your husband after a long day of work. You still refuse to say it out loud, though, and you irk him further by muttering, “That’s not what you said two years ago.”
“I wasn’t in love with you then.”
Tumblr media
“I refuse to be married to you!”
Sukuna fights back the urge to cover his ears. Ever since your clan decided to visit his land and started exorcising curses one by one, his life has been nothing but hell. Not only are your relatives the most arrogant people ever with a consistent god complex, they just had to let their little mortal child be in charge of taking on the stronger curses. Seriously, what were they thinking, sending you – who’s barely even out of their training bra years – to deal with curses like him?
Everyone knows Sukuna is a no bullshit man. He won’t hesitate to cut your head off the moment you came raging at him, but then he sees how young you are and decides to send you back to your family.
Expecting that everyone would just call it a day and he’d get offerings for his unexpected mercy, Sukuna is beyond stupefied when they send you back to his temple, all dressed pretty with a basket of fruits and flowers braided in your hair. He remembers growling because you look adorable, but that’s easily wiped away when you open your mouth, your voice scratchy against his ears as you stomp your feet like the young mortal you are.
Sukuna pushes a thumb to his forehead to ease the impending headache, and that’s just from your presence. Something inside him tells that you’re going to be a bigger pain than you look.
“You don’t have much of a choice. You should’ve thought of that before deciding to run rampage over my land,” he reminds, turning boredly to his lone servant from above his throne. Sukuna isn’t impressed, to say the least, especially with your clan’s audacious proposition to gain his favour just this once. “Is this really the woman you bring me – the one they insist to be my wife?”
“She is their best fighter, my Lord.”
Well, he can’t disagree to that. You did, after all, single-handedly give him a cut on the cheek. “She’s feisty indeed.”
“Don’t talk as if I’m not here!”
“Mouthy too,” he mumbles to himself, but your sorcerer senses are sharp and easily picks up on it. He sees you flush angry again, looking immensely adorable with your tiny fists clenched like that and he snorts, waving a hand in the air. “Whatever. Get the wedding over with,” he nods to his servant, his sigh loud and tired as he makes his way to you.
You don’t stiffen at each haunting step, his eyes only glimmering harder with entertainment. It’s rare to find a mortal that doesn’t quiver at the sight of him, the urge to break you only growing stronger.
Even as he cups your face, making sure to not let his claws dig into your precious skin, Sukuna smirks. You’ll be entertaining indeed.
So Sukuna makes a promise, four eyes surveying the way your body is starting to fill in curves at the right places, the swell of your flesh just perfect in his hands... He chuckles to himself, daunting you further as he leans down to your ear, taking pleasure in the slight way your breath hitches. “Maybe then I’ll get to teach you a lesson or two.”
Tumblr media
You’re definitely something else, taking advantage of each presented opportunity and not wasting any time before you make your move. Right after the wedding and everyone’s left, leaving you alone with your new husband behind closed doors; you push him until he’s on the ground, legs straddling each side of his hips while you growl above him – the sound similar to a battle cry.
Sukuna merely smirks, barely moving a muscle as his large hands come up to rest on your hips to steady you. “I’ve imagined countless ways you’d be on top of me like this,” his eyes light up with humour upon feeling the cold blade on his skin, “None of them included a knife on my neck though.”
“Shut your mouth. I will kill you myself,” you warn, pressing your knife harder until it draws a slight tinge of blood.
You hardly look threatening above him like this, dolled up to look the best in your wedding with this cursed being. If anything, you look more divine than deadly, and Sukuna thinks that perhaps your beauty could be your best weapon. You are bewitching, after all.
“I refuse to be your Queen and sit next to your throne.”
“Then why didn’t you stop the wedding?”
“I—”
Sukuna’s teasing grin grows wider when you pull back, trying so hard to not trip over your words. It takes all of his self-restraint to not take you right then and there, but he does a good job of holding back, enjoying this view above him instead. “Could it be you’re attracted to me after all, hm, little one?”
“Do not test me, Curse. I’m more than capable of exorcising you myself.”
“Oh, I don’t doubt that. You’re the strongest in the Gojo clan, are you not?” he prompts to appease you, “I don’t even want to see what you’re capable of, but maybe, just maybe...” just as his eyes darken, the edges of his lips turning up into a smirk, Sukuna digs his claws into your thigh in a possessive show of ownership, a painful reminder that you’re his now. “...You could put on a little show for me?”
“I hate you!”
Experienced and strong as you are, you’re nothing compared to a thousand year old curse who’s killed a lot more people faster than you could blink. Sukuna immediately notices the animalistic way you draw your blade, arm swung back with rage written all over your face. Before you could so much as bat an eye, he easily switches the positions until you’re under him, using only one hand to pin your arms above your head, your blade effortlessly thrown to the other side of the room.
“As I thought, you’re a lot prettier under me like this,” he observes, roaming his eyes shamelessly over the fabric clinging prettily to your body. You’ve fallen silent at his unconcealed attention, your compliance enticing him to lean closer just to inhale your intoxicating scent.
“Not so feisty now, little one? Where’d all your hatred for me go?” Sukuna pulls back with widened eyes, “Oh? Am I hearing it wrong or is your pathetic human heart beating so loud right now?” You refuse to look at him, wriggling your hips in an attempt to leave, completely unaware that the mere movement is hypnotizing the curse above you. Sukuna grips your hips in warning, not wanting to destroy you – not now, anyway. “You know all you need to do is say it. I’d gladly take you right here and then.” His words spoken with that deep, throaty voice immediately sends a wave of heat down your core, but you turn away from him, breathing hard and nervously; something Sukuna picks up on in an instant. “Little one...have you never had a man hold you like this before?”
“N-no...”
“I see. Pure and innocent behind that ferocity, huh?” He surprises you by pulling away, smoothening his white robes down as he leaves you panting still on the floor. “Fine. I won’t touch you unless you ask me to.”
“I’d rather die before that ever comes out from my mouth.”
“We’ll see about that,” he smirks, winking at you before he shuts the door. “Little one.”
Tumblr media
There’s a lot of weird – and utterly inconvenient things – about being Sukuna’s wife. The man eats everything, absolutely everything, and it doesn’t help that he sucks at hunting too. For a man so huge and burly, he sure is lazy, preferring to do the laundry in the riverside instead while you go out every day to prepare your meals.
You actually don’t mind, but it’s very fun to complain around him.
You’re on your way back to the temple when Sukuna grabs at you, making you drop the freshly caught birds onto the ground. Your brows furrow, about to scold him for being too eager again when Sukuna stares at your arm, his lips pressing into a thin line.
Following his line of sight, your lips form an ‘o’ shape. There’s blood trickling down your forearm from his claws accidentally cutting you, guilt written all over his face. Another weird thing about Sukuna is that he babbles a lot when he’s emotional, and you’re too tired to hear him beat himself over it that you just drag him inside your room, sitting his ass down before taking a clipper.
Sukuna scoffs when you start cutting his nails. It irks him that you don’t even bother wiping the blood off first and he tsks, eyes narrowed at you. “You should have thicker skin.”
You roll your eyes as you file his nails; you’ve been married to him long enough to know it’s his way of saying sorry. Not wanting to let him wallow in guilt any louder, you pad kisses over his knuckles before swiping the black ink off your desk, using a pen brush to colour your nails instead. Sukuna hovers behind you, head tilted to the side as he watched you. “Are you painting your nails black?” he utters in disbelief, trying to ignore the fact he feels...proud and even a little smug. “Not so fitting for the angelic sorcerer now, isn’t it?”
“I’m only doing this so you don’t feel left out.”
“Maybe I’ll add markings to your pretty face too,” he cups your jaw to make you turn to him, landing a solid kiss flat to your lips which makes you sigh, pretending to be annoyed but leaning over for another peck anyway. Sukuna laughs and pulls you onto his lap, kissing your neck this time around, a little annoyed that you don’t stop in brandishing your nails. “Wife, what do you think?”
“I have work, Sukuna. You flirting with me doesn’t change the fact I need to go.”
“Come home safe for me, at least?” he breathes down your neck, his touch sending shivers down your spine. You’ve definitely changed since the first time he’s met you, starting from a mean (although he stands strong that you are still mean to him sometimes) temperamental little one to a mature, stronger sorcerer who’s secretly weak for his wife.
Unable to resist him as always, you turn around once you’ve finished painting your nails, rubbing your nose over his until your strong, scary husband is turning into putty at your hands. “Of course I will,” you peck his lips one last time, Sukuna’s eyes closing as he dives in for a deeper kiss. “I’ll always come back home to my handsome husband.”
If anyone were to ask how it’s possible that the King of Curses is actually very soft for his sorcerer wife, everyone would claim it’s impossible and a heresy – but if you ask Sukuna, it’s probably just black magic doing its wonders.

Diabolik Lovers Lunatic Parade Special Pamphlet Short Story: The 12 Vampires and the Magic Lamp [ENG Translation]
Tumblr media
Original title: 12人のヴァンパイアと魔人のランプ
Source: Diabolik Lovers Lunatic Parade Limited Edition Special Pamphlet
Summary: After the Parade has come to an end, Yui receives a special ‘Magic Lamp’ from Count Walter’s butler which can be used to grant a single wish. As she tries to refuse the gift, the Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers promptly stop her and begin to fight over who has the right to use this valuable treasure. She escapes, but the boys chase her around the city, each of them determined to have their own wish granted. ーー And so, their game of tag begins.
“Chichinashi! Where are you hidin’!?”
“Oooi~ Bitch-chan~! Be a good girl and show yourself?”
With the Parade having come to an end, Ayato-kun and Laito-kun’s voices echo through a now quiet and nearly deserted Glimmer Street. While hiding in the shadow of the buildings, a sof sigh fell from my lips.
“...What to do? I have to hurry and go to Bernstein Castle...”
Right now, I am on the run not only from Ayato-kun and Laito-kun, but from a total of 12 different Vampires.
All of this happened because I obtained the golden, shimmering ‘magic lamp’ I’m currently holding in my hands.
ーー It happened after I managed to regain my heart with everyone’s help.
As I was about to leave this city to return to the Human World, I was approached by a butler working for Count Walter. He handed me this ‘Magic Lamp’ as an apology for the trouble his Master had caused me. According to what I was told, it is an extremely valuable treasure which will grant any one wish.
Furthermore...The Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers were there to witness the whole ordeal.
“I just can’t accept something so valuable. ...I’ll give this back to you, okay?”
As I said that in hope of returning to Bernstein castle afterwards, they stopped me in disbelief.
And then claimed that if I did not want it, they would use it instead. ...This resulted into a fight and before they knew it, I had made a run for it, taking the lamp with me.
ーー And that is how our game of tag started.
I am not quite sure what everyone would wish for, but I believe we don’t need this thing if it can fulfill one person’s wish only.
“Heeh...So that’s your reasoning. Well, I’m pretty sure it’s useless though...”
“ーー S-Shuu-san...!?”
“Not just Shuu. I’m here too. Geez, you really made us go through the trouble of lookin’ for you.”
When I raised my head, Subaru-kun was standing next to me as well. ...No, it wasn’t just the two of them. All of the Sakamaki brothers had gathered, from Ayato-kun and Laito-kun whom I believed had walked past me earlier, to Kanato-kun and even Reiji-san.
“Hehe...You’re pretty desperate, Subaru.”
“I mean, Subaru-kun’s going to wish for Bitch-chan to fall head over heels in love with him, right~? No wonder he’s so desperate, nfu~”
“D-Don’t be makin’ up lies! My wish is a new coffin!”
“All I want...is to live surrounded by an endless amount of sweets!”
“In that case, I’m gonna wish for a huge load of takoyaーー No, actually, might not be bad to have Chichinashi turned into a Chichiari*.”
--> チチアリ or ‘Chichiari’ would be the opposite of ‘Chichinashi’, literally meaning ‘to have boobs’.
“Eh!? M-Me...!?”
“You can’t, Ayato-kun. I’ll be one turning Bitch-chan into a voluptuous, young woman after all~*”
--> He literally describes it as a ナイスバディのオネーサン or ‘Nice body no Onee-san’. Onee-san is used to refer to women who are older than you are but since Laito-kun is only 17 in human years, it would apply to a girl in her early 20s as well.
“G-Geez! Cut it out, you two...!”
“...You guys really came up with some bullshit. If it can grant any wish, I’d make it so the Old Man never bothers me again...Pwaah...”
And so, they began to slowly close in on me. The very moment they reached for the lamp, Reiji-san - who had been the only one remaining quiet so far - suddenly raised his voice.
“Would you care explain this to me? ...Because you kept touching the lamp with those sweaty palms, there are now fingerprints all over it! Come on, it is not too late yet! Put these on at once!”
While frantically shouting at me, he threw a pair of white gloves my way. Surprised by his menacing look, I put them on as asked, and Reiji-san finally nodded his head in agreement.
“I am disappointed...Do none of you grasp the true value of this lamp?”
“Haah? Are we really not allowed to touch it with our bare hands...?”
“It looks pretty normal from the outside though~ I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a similar example in Kanato-kun’s room...?”
“Yes. ...Well, that one isn’t capable of granting wishes though.”
Reiji-san sighed deeply at Ayato-kun, Latio-kun and Kanato-kun’s consecutive comments.
“...Only two of these ‘magic lamps’ exist in this world, making them very valuable from a historic point of view. Furthermore, the lamp may disappear once it has granted one’s wish, therefore it revolts me you lot are even considering putting it to use...”
While the other guys seemed little interested in Reiji-san’s emotion-laden speech, he once again spoke up.
“Well, I doubt you will ever understand.  ーー Especially you, whom I did not expect to even join us in the first place...”
“...Shut up. Who cares?”
Shuu-san calmly brushed off Reiji-san’s taunt as if it was nothing.
“Hehe...Seems like he doesn’t give a shit ‘bout what you say.”
“Fufu, take a look at that frustrated expression on Reiji’s face. ...This might be the most interesting thing I’ve seen in quite some time.”
“Geez, cut it out you two~ Don’t you feel bad for Reiji~?”
“Feel bad? ...Hehe. Pretty sure your words hurt even more.”
The other four brothers who had been listening in on their conversation continued to chuckle...Which eventually caused Shuu-san to burst out laughing as well.
Seems like this sight dealt a pretty hefty blow to Reiji-san’s pride, as he stood there shaking violently from sheer anger.
I better make a run for it before things take a turn for the worse...
I used the fact they had suddenly completely forgotten about me to my advantage, and left the place at once.
“...Phew. Thank god. Seems like they didn’t notice.”
I eventually found myself on Aizen Alley, one of the streets located in the very back of Glimmer street. To be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled about having to pass through there, but if I wanted to head to the castle while avoiding Ayato-kun and the others, I had no other choice.
“Hehe...Too bad. You can’t escape us First Bloods.”
“Hand over that lamp you are holding at once.”
I gasp at the voices resounding from the darkness. Those who appeared were Shin-kun and Carla-san.
“I-I can’t do that...! I believe it is wrong to use the lamp for one’s own selfish pursuits...”
“If we give it back, it’ll just get thrown into some old, dusty storage room, right? In that case, I’m pretty sure the lamp would be happier to have someone use it as well?”
“B-But...”
“Come on, don’t hesitate. You’re keeping Nii-san waiting as well. Can’t you hurry up?”
“...T-Then, what would you wish for, Shin-kun?”
While snorting at my desperate question, he answered with a smile.
“That should be obvious. I’d make sure those filthy Vampires disappear off the face of the Demon World at onーー”
“ーー No. We want cured ham.”
“N-Nii-san...?”
“We shall change all food in this world to cured ham. That is my...No, the dearest wish of all First Bloods.”
“R-Right...”
Carla-san would blurt that out with a straight face. It is the very definition of a selfish wish but I wonder if Shin-kun is truly okay with it? ...I look over at Shin-kun while wondering that, seeing him look at Carla-san in utter defeat.
“...Well then, woman. Hand it over right now.”
“You’re actually hoping to fulfill that wish...!?”
“Yes, of course.”
All food in this world will turn into cured ham...That is just simply pushing it one step too far. It pains me to have to deceive him...But I decided to tell a certain lie.
“H-Have you already had the chance to try the cured ham galette which is said to be this city’s speciality...?”
“...Pardon?”
“It’s a limited edition galette which is available at stores only after the Parade has ended. While passing by the shops earlier, I noticed that only very few were left, so I figured I would inform you just in case...”
While there was no guaranteeing he would believe me, I wanted to make Carla-san forget about the lamp, even if just for a few minutes. With that sole purpose in mind, I continued my act.
“...Let us go, Shin. Just leave this woman be.”
“W-Wait, Nii-san! You’re just going to believe her on her word!?”
“We will know whether she was speaking the truth or not once we get to the shop. Even if she had been lying, capturing a human woman is child’s play to me. However, if she has been speaking the truth...”
“If we don’t hurry, they’ll run out of cured ham galettes, right? ...Right, I understand.”
Realizing there was no point in trying to reason with him, Shin-kun reluctantly trailed behind Carla-san as they left.
I truly am sorry...While internally apologizing to both of them, I headed towards my desitation.
“Haah...I can finally see it in the distance...”
Some time after I bid farewell with the Tsukinami brothers, I finally got close to Bernstein castle.
“Oh no...I can’t approach the castle like this...”
After all, four familiar figures were standing lined up by the castle’s gate. Those are the Mukami brothers...Of course, with Ruki-kun standing in the middle. As to be expected of a strategist like him. If I wanted to return the lamp to its owner, I would have to make it back here eventually. They were one step ahead of me.
“Eve...Found you...”
“...!! A-Azusa-kun!?”
When I timidly turned around at the voice suddenly calling for me from behind, Azusa-kun - who was talking to Ruki-kun and the others up until seconds ago - suddenly stood right in front of me.
“Ahー M-neko-chan! So this is where you’ve been~!”
“Che...Ya sure took yer sweet time. You’re damn late, Sow!”
“...Calm down, you guys. If we make too much of a ruckus, we’ll attract the attention of the others.”
When I raised my voice, it caught everyone’s attention and without a chance to slip away, I was soon surrounded by the four Mukami brothers.
“I’m sorry, guys. But I won’t hand over this lamp to anyone...!”
After jumping the gun like that, Ruki-kun let out a disappointed sigh.
“...Seems like you have got the wrong idea. I simply want to look after the lamp for you.”
“Eh...? You don’t want to use it to grant your own wish?”
“Of course not. If a Vampire such as myself holds on to the lamp, it will decrease the chances of one of the other guys stealing it.”
“You say that buuuut~ ...Ruki-kun, aren’t you actually hoping to use that lamp to renovate our manor~?”
“Your own exclusive study room off-limits for anyone else, and a play room filled with nothing but chess boards...Hehe, as to be expected of Mr. Eldest son.”
“Kuh...! Don’t assume such things. All I want to do is to make the home we have received from that man the most comfortable for you all to live in...!”
While Ruki-kun chuckles sarcastically after his true intentions are exposed by his siblings, Azusa-kun reached out for me.
“Listen, Eve...The four of us talked it out and...We’ve decided to use the lamp together with Ruki as our representative...”
“Ruki-kun’s so mean, you know~! I was actually going to wish for a hundred year’s worth of Vongole Bianco.”
“I was gonna ask for the power to manipulate the weather...But my idea got shot down at once. ...Haah...And here I thought I could make field work a lil’ easier on myself...”
“I just want to be with Eve so...I didn’t really have any particular wishes...”
“Is that so...? It’s really admirable of you all to hold back on your own desires.”
Even though the younger brothers were voicing their complaints, it didn’t seem like they were going to force their own wishes through. I’m sure it is because Ruki-kun intends to make a wish which benefits the whole family, as the deep bond of trust between the four brothers somehow made me feel warm inside.
However...That still does not mean I will give them the lamp.
“Uhm, you see...It just doesn’t sit right with me to only have one person’s wish granteーー!?”
The second I felt as if something was closing on me, a large sound resounded from the nearby buildings before they collapsed.
“...!? This magic...”
“The Tsukinami’s...perhaps? Look, over there...!”
“Ugeh! They look hella pissed off! Did ya do somethin’!?”
“Uu...W-Well...”
I could feel my heart drop at Yuma-kun’s words. Carla-san and Shin-kun must be upset about the lie I ended up telling them back then...
“Say, what should we do!? At this rate, we’ll all be turned to dust...!”
Kou-kun’s exclamation made me panic as I rushed towards the two brothers. Either way, I just had to apologize as quickly as possible...However, I was stopped by the Sakamaki brothers before I could reach them.
“You’ve got nowhere to run now...Oi, hand me the lamp already!”
“What are you saying, Subaru? I will be using the lamp. You’re in the way!”
“Hell no! I’m gonna have my wish granted!”
“Ehー Let me have the honor for once~ We can only use it once and my wish is obviously the best.”
Shuu-san joins in a little late as well and before I know it, the Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers are all gathered just like when we started off.
Glares were being exchanged here and there as a hostile atmosphere fills the air. I can no longer stop them all by myself. In that case, I will have to rely on an outer source to back me up. I didn’t want to use the lamp to have a wish granted but...This is the only way to stop their fight.
While rubbing the side of the lamp, I spoke up with a loud voice.
“Release lanterns into the sky once more!”
White smoke emitted from the lamp and soon after ー Poof! The lamp disappeared with a popping sound.
When I look up at the sky, I once again witness the same magical sight of countless lanterns floating through the sky, just like they did a few hours ago. ...At some point, their quarreling voices had gone quiet as well.
“You...Haah. You really are a foolish woman.”
“Ya really think we’re happy with this crap? Geez. Ya really used the lamp for some useless shit...”
“...Eh...?”
Shuu-san and Yuma-kun’s remarks catch me off guard as I froze on the spot.
“...Livestock, seems like you did not grasp the true value of that lamp.”
“Exactly...To think a great hidden treasure of the Demon World has been lost over such a ridiculous wish...!”
Ruki-kun and Reiji-san voiced their complaints as well.
“B-But...! All of you were moved by the lanterns, no...?”
I frantically reached out for the others, hoping that at least one of them would agree with me. ...That was all I wished for, yet...
“I mean, sure? But to be honest, I didn’t need to see it a second time...”
“...I’d hate to have to agree with a mere Vampire...But I’ll admit that Kou is right this one time. You feel the same, don’t you, Nii-san?”
“...My cured ham...”
“Too bad, Shin-san...Seems like Carla-san can’t hear you right now...”
“Ah-aah...I was looking forward to seeing a sexy Bitch-chan as well~”
“Me too. I was already making plans for which sweet I would try first...!”
“Fuck! There goes my plan of gettin’ a coffin in which nobody can bother me...!”
All I got in return were negative responses and sighs.
“...Guess I’ve got no other choice then! Oi, Chichinashi! Let me suck your blood to make up for it!”
“W-Wait! That’s way too sudden...!”
“Shut up! That’s the only thing which can calm this anger inside of me!”
While Ayato-kun closed in, I looked around me in search of someone to save me, but all I could see were a bunch of eyes glaring at me from the darkness. At this rate, they will all take my blood. ...There is no way I would come out of that alive. Realizing I had to make a run for it...I dashed away at full-speed.
“Ah! Wait, M-neko-chan!!”
“Geez, Bitch-chan! I’m not scary though~!”
The many lanterns floating through the night sky was a sight to behold, but unfortunately, I did not have the leaway to enjoy that right now. After all, I had to flee from their approaching footsteps and voices calling out for me as soon as possible.
I didn’t want them to fight and while I never expected them to become friends, I wished they would at least try and be on neutral terms with each other.
That wish was most definitely granted. Right now, they had put the strained relationship between the different families aside to join forces.
However, knowing their shared goal is my blood...doesn’t make me happy at all.
ーー The Demon World’s Parade safely came to an end, but my night had only just begun.
ーー END ーー

Surprises
Surprises of all kinds, found after a shopping trip goes wrong. Content warning for coarse language, sexuality, threats of violence, mentions of suicide and incest, and copious amounts of headcanons.
As always, there is more in my Twisted Wonderland Fanfiction tag, and send me a message if you liked it, I crave positive feedback.

TXT: where the fuck are you guys it's already quarter past
After a few minutes, you got a ding.
M: idia doenst want t leave something about a person see you aftr he needs freind
Oh goddammit, it's so fucking hard to get him out and about. At least Mal was with him.
You looked to Grim at your feet. "Looks like it's just us, buddy."
~*~*~*~
It was just you and Grim browsing through the dollar store, when a boy in a ratty shop apron came up to you. "Ma'am?"
You turned to him, and he coughed. "Uh, Miss. You're not supposed to have pets in the store."
Grim bristled at him. "I'm not a pet!"
Poor kid, he looked so startled. And you decided to make it worse, because yanno, why not. "How dare you refer to my son as a pet! Does he look like a pet to you?"
He looked between your face and Grim's, confusion growing. "Wh-"
"I know the resemblance isn't the strongest, but honestly! How could you say such mean things about him!"
Grim, bless him, actually caught on and decided to play along for the chaos of it. "Why are you being so mean to me? My mom works hard to keep me happy! She said I could pick out a toy today!"
The confusion had turned to anger. "That's not your kid! You're too young and he's an animal!"
Grim looked up at you, mock tears in his eyes. "I'm your kid, right? I'm not adopted like the boys at school say?" He started sniffling. "I'm not adopted, right?"
You clapped your hands over Grim's ears and glared at the now horrified shopboy. "Look what you've done! I hadn't told him yet!"
He just fled in horror, and it was all you could do to keep from laughing.
~*~*~*~
The village on the island wasn't the worst appointed. Being equidistant between two prestigious magic schools, it had a few places worth going, and after hitting up your personal favourite, you went to a small park, settled down on a bench, and started unwrapping your prizes.
You have a love for gashapon machines that bordered on a serious problem. In your biweekly trips to buy snacks and supplies to stock up your miserable, beautiful dorm, you easily fed 3000 madol (which you think was about thirty-five dollars or so at home, but couldn't be sure) into the long rows of machines in the drug store, coming out with tiny keychains, figures, and various useless but wonderful little totchkes that you kept lined up in rows in your bedroom. The joys of tiny presents! And the containers were useful too; for a creature who heavily insisted he wasn't a cat, Grim lost his shit like one every time your rolled a ball with a bell inside across the floor.
You were marveling over a tiny, perfectly realistic jellyfish on a phone strap as someone sat down heavily beside you. "Is that," they pointed to Grim poking his way around the cattails by an ornamental pond, "yours?"
"... Yes?" You turned to examine your seatmate. Charmingly strange looking, they sat impeccably robed in forest green velvet and squinted at you from behind perfectly round sunglasses. Flat-faced and thin-lipped, they reminded you of a toad, with their roundness and severe expression.
"Ah, then you are the one I am looking for. You're the pet of the prince."
"I'm a friend of his. Is that a problem?" You decided to keep opening your prizes, and pulled out a heavy ball from the bottom of your bag.
"His Highness does not have human friends."
"And yet, I am." This one, unwrapped, was the chase in the set: a tiny cauldron the size of a thimble that seemed to be actual cast iron. The chill of it was pleasant in your hand, and instead of returning it to your bag, you left it in your lap.
This presumptive stranger leaned in. "You're a diversion. A distraction from what he should be learning. Instead he plays with mortals and lets them forget their place."
"If it was so important that he didn't play with mortals, then why was he allowed to attend here?" You got a cheap set of rings on a goldtone chain in this one. Boo. You'd wanted the miniature necklace of the set for your doll. "He's very happy with the company of us all."
"Too happy. He forgets his place." The toady eyed the glittering paste gems before looking away. "Above you. Instead he crawls into your lap and serves you like a dog."
You froze. "Now, where did you get that idea?"
"We have sources." They leaned in further, smiling. A barely perceptible line of triangular teeth, sparsely placed and translucent in tone. "Foul things happen to the unwanted lovers of heirs, don't you know?"
"I am a wanted friend."
"You're a parasite who should flee."
You realized something, and turned to face your strange benchmate. "Why are you threatened by me?"
They scoffed. "Why would we be threatened by you?"
"If you weren't," you said, dropping your voice as your leaned in, "then you wouldn't be here trying to put the fear into me." They leaned back, glasses slipping off their nose. The eyes in their face were exquisite, shining gold and black speckles with a ring of gold around an oval pupil. You could help but laugh. "Pretty eyes. You really are a toad. Who sent you? The Thorn Witch? Can't be, I'm not worth her time and if I was, she'd've sent a fucking letter."
"We're a concerned party, preventing our future king from making the mistake of dealing with filth."
Well, that one pissed you off. You grabbed their wrist, feeling bumps and warts on their skin through the fabric, and pressed the tiny cauldron to the back on their hand as they started screeching.
"You," you looked them dead in their impossibly lovely eyes, "You go back where you came from, tell them I'm not a threat to whatever stupid bullshit they're worried about, and never bother us again. Or I will make you swallow this and you'll beg the precious prince you're so damned worried about to burn you alive to stop the pain."
You'd never seen anyone run so fast in your life when you let them go.
"Hey, Grim! We gotta go."
~*~*~*~
TXT: MAL SOMEONE SENT ME A TOADY SAYING I CAN'T BE AROUND YOU ANYMORE
TXT: MIGHTA BEEN YOUR GMA BUT I DON'T THINK SO
~*~*~*~
"I'm gonna kill that fucker."
"Killing them might start an international incident. If one hasn't happened already. You burnt them with iron, Yuu."
"I should have done worse! Whoever the fuck they were, that's two friends they've tried to threaten to stay away from you! That we know of!"
It turns out that the mystery toady had been the person to scare the piss out of Idia the night before. Not that they'd gotten far into their leave-the-prince-alone spiel, Idia had simply kicked them square in the stomach and fled, assuming another kidnapping attempt.
"It wouldn't have been my grandmother. In the last letter I got from her, she said it was very nice that I was making friends. She said to keep making them, even."
"She'd probably care if she knew you were sleeping with said friends." Idia was curled into the corner of his bed, and from the looks of it hadn't slept since his own encounter.
"No she wouldn't."
"You sure about that?"
You'd said that that was only going to happen once. Everyone agreed. But when all three of you settled in to play a game or watch a movie, hands moved and bodies flushed and you all seemed to find yourself tangled and gasping. And it didn't seem to require all three of you - you no longer had the strength to say no to Mal's obvious advances, and you'd walked in on your boys more than once. At least you were still friends? Really, really close friends?
"She wouldn't."
"Could they be worried about heirs?" That seemed logical. Even if no accidents were happening, they might not know that.
"That's not possible."
You raised an eyebrow. Everything worked right, and you all knew it.
Mal looked back at you. "Yuu, I hatched from an egg. I could have you both five times a day for a decade and all there would be to show for it is you couldn't walk. I cannot have children with either of you without magical intervention."
Idia made a truly impressive death rattle before mumbling something about the end of his bloodline, and you just nodded. "Makes sense."
"It's quite interesting, really, it requires numerous spells and potions, that if not kept up on, the babe will-" Malleus placed his hands together, back to back, and mimed the motion of tearing something open.
You flinched. "That's awful, goddamn."
"I have a direct ancestor who took a great deal of human women as breeding stock and simply let them be eaten from the inside out. That's what started one of the earlier human/faerie wars."
"... Wow."
"I am not proud of her."
"Can we please talk about anything else?" Idia looked ready to be sick. "I don't want to think about any of this."
"Sure, let's grab one of your doujins."
~*~*~*~
"So you're already engaged?"
"As soon as it was clear I would survive to adulthood, yes. Idia, what is this series?"
"Nyan Neko Sugar Girls. It's not that great storywise, but it has great gags." He reached over and grabbed the next one in his pile. "It's not that unusual. My mother wanted Ortho to marry my cousin Alecto when they grew up, before..."
"Before he made a lifestyle change?" That seemed the politest way to put it.
"Before she went to the criminal ward."
You shut your book with a soft thump. "What?"
"I remember the trial." Mal sighed. "Strychnine in the sugar bowl at Sunday dinner. I made sure to get the newspapers sent to the palace."
"Mother was heartbroken over it, until she realized that the wealth of that entire Shroud branch defaulted back to us." Idia shrugged. "It's sad. She was just eleven. I still send her emails."
"Idia."
"Mm?"
"Why the fuck would an eleven year old poison someone?"
"My uncle said she couldn't get a puppy until her grades went up."
"What the fuck." You'd lie down if you weren't already doing so.
"It's the curse." He sighed. "We thought she might've been from an affair? But that proved it."
"My dearest Shroud, you can't guarantee it was from the curse." Malleus turned a page. "It might have been trauma from her mother's death."
You could see more bad history incoming. "Oh no."
"Alecto was from Uncle Jo's first marriage, to my dad's cousin Alita. She had a sister, but when her mother drowned herself, she only took-"
"Is this normal for your family? Or is that just some exceptional bad luck?"
He leaned in, lamplight eyes flashing. "Out of all the Shrouds of my generation that are still capable of inheriting, I'm the most mentally sound."
Both you and Mal had to stop and really consider the implications of that.
"So, Mal. Yours isn't that closely related?"
"Fifth cousins at most when they're finally born."
You sat up. "What?"
"I'm supposed to marry the third grandchild of the Hollyoak Baron. They're a well-respected family, and of snake fae descent so little aid will be needed for conception. His eldest child is in..." He had to think about what words to use. " I believe the term is 'middle school'?"
"They really planned it that far ahead?"
Mal shrugged, the movement rolling down his whole body. "I cannot complain. It gives me a very long time to learn how to be a husband before I have to be one."
"But what if you don't like them?"
"Marriage is chiefly a contract to produce heirs. I'll learn to like them, and ideally love them."
"And if you don't?"
"I'll still treat them as kindly as I can."
"And I suppose you'd take a lover."
"Maybe. They can too, as long as all the children are mine. For legal reasons," he added.
Idia, snapping out of his thoughts, tapped Mal's shoulder. "Does the Hollyoak Baron have any friends who are toad faeries?"
It was Mal's turn to sit up. "That... He could be worried that if I have favourites at school, I'll resent my betrothed for not being either of you. Or that I would attempt to break it off entirely."
"That still doesn't tell us how he found out about..." You gestured around the room.
Idia rolled his eyes. "All that would have to happen is any one student from the Valley of Thorns writing a letter home."
"But -"
"Malleus, you're not shy in your affections. At all."
"Yes I am," he bristled.
~*~*~*~
"Mal?"
"Mmph?"
"You have to put me down. I have class."
He made a slightly different mmph and shook his head.
You tried to pat his head, but your arms were securely pinned to your sides. "I know they're fantastic, but you have to stop."
He still refused to remove his face from your chest, making a noise that could have been purring if it cane from anyone who was a proper mammal.
"Mal, we're blocking traffic."
He still wasn't putting you down, instead swaying slightly in place.
A familiar long-fingered hand with dark nails reached from behind you and tugged at Mal's lapel. "Malleus, please stop, it's ten AM and everyone is staring."
Mal finally put you down - only to switch targets, wrapping his arms around Idia's waist and pulling him flush, fixing him with such a look of besotted fondness that you immediately felt like you were intruding.
"You look beautiful today."
Idia immediately burst into a ball of pink flame.
~*~*~*~
"... Perhaps I am a bit obvious."
Idia stared up at his ceiling. "You'd be at home in my otome games."
You chimed in. "What would be obvious, in your mind?"
"Very easy. I finish the paperwork declaring you Lord and Lady of the Bedchamber and have you officially ensconced as Court of Thorns royalty, ensuring you're both taken care of for the rest of your days."
"... Finish?"
"It seemed the easiest thing to do if either of you chose to visit my homeland."
You swatted his leg. "And you didn't think to ask us first?"
Mal was starting to clue in that he had once again overreached himself. "... Surprise?"
"I'm okay with it."
You glared over at Idia. "That's not the point."
"Look, if I ever get disinherited, I have a place to go. He won't make me go outside if I don't want to. I'll bring Ortho. It'll be great."
"They don't even have dial-up over there, Idia. Lilia told me he had to get all this stuff installed to play his MMOs."
Idia pointed at Mal, easy smile turned to outrage. "How dare you try and trap me!"
It honestly seemed like Mal and Idia had switched expressions, the look of worry on his face so strange. "It's a protective measure! If you're titled, people will get in trouble if they try and remove you!"
"That's still... wait." The gears were turning in your head. "If you finish that paperwork, whoever sent Mixter Toad is going to get in so much more trouble."
Everyone went silent as they considered this.
"... As soon as I get the official permission from my grandmother. She won't like it very much, but if I explain..."
Idia turned to Mal. "You were going to make your human fucktoys official members of the Court of Thorns without telling your grandmother, the queen. Who has a notable and often justified dislike of humans."
"No?"
"Mal."
"I simply prepared ahead."
"Mal."
"I - "
"Malleus." You leaned over and kissed his cheek. "You're so goddamned stupid. Love you."
He didn't say it back with words, but you got the message loud and clear.

Prologue
The world has completely gone to shit, I think to myself as my blade slices right through my opponent’s eye. The responding roar of the crowd reinforces that thought as the lifeless body slumps to the ground.
Removing my bloodied knife from the man at my feet, I stand, exhaustion kicking in after yet another adrenaline-fueled fight. Gazing out at the surrounding crowd of humans and demons, I narrow my sights on tonight’s guests of honor – the seven demons who would decide if my performance was deemed worthy enough of payment.
Raising my chin in defiance, my eyes meet those of the pompous greed demon of the Ahgase Seven. Lim Jaebeom lounges on a provisional throne flanked by his six brothers. Their combined beauty is ethereal but leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
How is it that creatures so prone to evil can be so lovely to look at?
After glancing briefly at each brother, I finally make eye contact with Jackson Wang, the Ahgase’s pride demon. He inclines his head with a satisfied smirk, simultaneously permitting my payment and ordering my swift dismissal.
The callous disregard of my efforts never fails to ignite a familiar burn of fury within me. I fight to the death to earn a week’s worth of food and shelter, and all I get is a fucking nod in response? Complete and utter bullshit if you ask me.
My teeth grind together as I give the slightest and stiffest bow possible in the Ahgase Seven’s general vicinity and stalk out of the Pit. Reminding myself that I actively choose this fate never really helps, given that the alternatives are equally as shit – if not more-so.
Basically, since the planet lost three-fourths of its population in the Reaping, the old capitalistic way of the world is no longer. Now, the main ways to survive deal with what you have to offer as a resource – your body, your skill, your labor, your loyalty. I choose to fight because, for me, it’s the soundest option.
My prior life had been sketchy at best. I had taught Krav Maga, a form of aggressive self-defense and reflexive fighting, to teens and young adults. I also had used Krav Maga (and other more nefarious methods) on abusive parents or guardians, bullies, or romantic partners - the very reasons my students came to my classes.
My resulting ambiguously gray background probably had influenced heaven and hell’s decisions to leave me behind. Still, killing hadn’t come easy for me in the beginning, but now it seems like second nature. In this new era, there are no rules, no moral codes, no winners, no losers. There are only survivors.
And I’ll be damned if I am not one of them.
Last year, the Reaping left us all in chaos and confusion. The supernatural had become natural. Heaven took those deemed worthy and let Hell deal with the rest. But, as it turns out, Hell was just as picky.
For a few days, demons ruthlessly reaped millions of humans and dragged them below the earth. And then the reaping stopped. The humans that remained were left with burned cities, abandoned homes and a complete absence of law. They were a ruthless bunch with questionable backgrounds and ambiguous morals. It honestly made sense that they were left behind – myself included.
The short period after the Reaping brought with it a general mayhem which resulted in looting, fires, and general destruction. The remainder of society was bare-boned, with only the richest areas having luxuries like running water and electricity. I referred to this time period – the lull before the demon Sevens took over – as the pseudo-Hunger Games. I legit had to pull a full Katniss Everdeen in order to stay alive during those two weeks.
Then, finally, the demons rose again.
The demons that rose were power-hungry and desperate to prove themselves worthy to rule over the New Earth. They looked human until you got too close and felt the negative energy that emanated from them. It's almost a built-in warning for those lower on the metaphorical food-chain not to get close to a source of potential harm.
By possessing a demon of each sin category, Sevens were able to bond together and max out their powers. Often, Sevens took on courts and consorts to siphon additional power, but my intel on demons was mostly built on speculation and rumors. The general consensus seemed to be that humans joined demon factions because of the promise of protection, food, and other resources. However, no one usually survived leaving a faction led by a Seven once they had declared fealty.
I vowed to never willingly enter into a Seven’s territory. My freedom and independence were the only things I had left to hold onto. And that was how I ended up in my current situation as a fighter in the Pit, the rough, man-made arena where fighters battle to the death for winnings while the audience bets furiously on their selected victor. No one had bet on me at first, but they learned quickly.
The Pit’s existence sprung out of desperation for distraction. Humans and demons alike needed some form of entertainment away from the monotony and death embedded within everyday life. Located within the Neutral Zone, the Pit provided humans the ability to earn a living and to make a name for themselves. Those that fought in the Pit were only lower on the human totem pole to the Pit Master and to the merchants in the Neutral Zone. Below the fighters were the scavengers, the workers, the peasants, and the lost.
Tumblr media
Marching towards the exit gate, I nod to the next competitor to enter the arena – it might be the last I’d see of them. Pit Master Agra greets me as I step through the gate’s threshold and finally out of the public eye.
“Good work,” she forces a smile that only looks like she’s in pain, “But, next time make sure there’s more blood.”
I say nothing.
Agra takes my silence as acceptance and jerks her head at the empty hallway, indicating my second dismissal of the day. “You have one week until your next fight,” she predictably calls as I make my way down the tunnel towards my makeshift room located in the fighters’ dorms.
I wave a hand carelessly behind me in a sign of recognition. Damn, what I wouldn’t give to challenge her in the Pit.
Pausing outside my room, I struggle to unhook my necklace that held my key. The blood on my fingers still has not fully dried, and I grow increasingly frustrated. I just want to bathe, goddamnit.
“Allow me,” a deep voice purrs from behind me. I shudder as two hands suddenly brush my own away from their hold on the necklace. Warm fingers brush the nape of my neck as the sound of a slight inhale meets my ears.
Fuck, I hope this person isn’t smelling me because I am almost certain the combination of sweat and dried blood is extremely unpleasant.
“There,” the voice rasps, “All done.”
My necklace is gone from my neck, and I turn to retrieve it from whoever just assisted me.
“Oh, fuck,” I hiss, taking in the demon before me. His teal hair is wild and reminiscent of a blue flame. His black eyes are large and slanted, fixed on me with a peculiar expression I just cannot place. His clothes are expensive. I peer closer, inspecting the intricate details on his patterned top. Was that Versace?
In this economy?
His arm extends to mine. My necklace dangles from one finger carelessly. “Here, mì shaìà (my pet).”
“My name is (y/n),” I grab the necklace and shudder when our fingers brush for a split second, “Not Mishaeya.”
The demon smiles. It’s large and boxy and completely predatory. “(Y/n). Mì shaìà. It doesn’t make a difference.”
Am I missing something?
“Listen, demon-dude, I just killed someone like five minutes ago. Can you stop being cryptic and just tell me why you’re lurking outside my room?”
“Ah, yes,” he stalks closer to me. My back hits the door to my room. He licks his lips, “I was watching you. You are quite the fighter, little one.”
“Little?” I glance down at my thick and well-muscled self, “Mhm, okay.”
“Are you not scared of me, mì shaìà?” His hand cups my chin, thumb darting out to wipe some blood from the shallow cut across my cheek.
“Should I be?” I front like my heart isn’t beating out of my chest.
“Yes,” he smiles before sucking the droplets of my blood from his thumb. “Surely someone as exquisite as you should need protecting. I’m surprised no one owns you yet, (y/n).”
My back straightens, “No one owns me. No one ever will.”
The demon’s head tilts as he silently studies me for a few moments. He looks like he almost wants to say something before he steps back and bows. “Sleep well, mì shaìà. I will be seeing you again.”
I gape as he walks away from me. A thought strikes me. “Hey!” I call after him, “What’s your name?”
He answers without looking back or breaking his stride, “V.”

Thor (Ragnarok) - fanfiction
Pt 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
Characters: Hela x fem!reader, some friends
Word Count: 2,397
Warning: angst (IM SO SORRY) some light smut ??
A cool hand was stroking along your hairline and you shifted at the touch, yawning as you woke up. Minty breath wafted towards you as Hela kissed your cheek.
Your eyes opened to meet her glimmering gaze. Sheets tangled around your legs, you were both just as naked as the night before, and you snuggled closer to her.
“You’re still here,” you mumbled.
“You really think I’d run off after last night?” she whispered, shuffling to kiss your lips, to which you let out a hum of delight. “I think it’s quite the opposite. You may never get rid of me now.”
“Good,” you said in return, straddling her and pushing the sheets off of the both of you.
A chime sounded and Alfred piped up from the living room, “Incoming call from Tony Stark, Miss Y/N.”
“Put him to voicemail,” you said, kissing down Hela’s pale neck and chest. “I’m busy.”
Two strong hands raked through your hair as you continued your way down.
“Y/N,” Hela breathed, chest rising. Her dark hair was cascading on the pillows. You gripped her hips and bit into the strong flesh of her thighs. Her legs opened wider and she squirmed on the bed.
She pulled your hair harder, “don’t tease,” she commanded, voice dripping with arousal.
You pulled back a moment and watched her appearance change from defiant to desperate, hands clawing at you for support.
“My house, my rules,” you smirked. “Stay down. No touching. Understood?”
Hela stared at you, incredulity written all over her face. You dipped a suggestive finger between her thighs and then she relented, relaxing into the sheets as you settled between her, legs, triumph and arousal surging through you.
When you both awoke again later, in a sweaty heap on the bed, you eventually got her up on her feet and dressed, though it took far too long with multiple distractions along the way.
“Come along,” you pulled her to the living room. Suddenly your home seemed far too small to contain your feelings. You wanted to jump and scream with happiness,
Hela could not remember the last time she had smiled so much. Perhaps because she felt very sexually satisfied for the first time in centuries, but watching you bounce from room to room with stars in your eyes made her question if it was something more than that.
That filled her with both delight, and dread.
“Here, sit,” you ordered her, “what do you wanna eat?”
“Is that a trick question?” Hela asked silkily. When you looked over at her, green eyes roved suggestively over your body with a raised eyebrow. You turned red and walked towards the fridge, muttering something about obscene Asgardians.
The screen on the fridge lit up, stating ‘5 missed calls from Tony S.’
You frowned a little, staring at the fridge until two hands gripped your waist from behind.
“Y/N,” Hela murmured. You bit your lip as she turned you around in her grip, the notifications forgotten for a moment.
“Darling,” she whispered, “we should talk.”
“Already? Isn’t that something for like, the third date?” you giggled.
“Our circumstances are not ideal, you know that,” she continued, serious now. “I’m a fugitive in the eyes of your people.”
“Hardly. House guest, remember?”
“We cannot-, you and I are not...”
“Not what? Compatible? Bullshit.”
“I see the way you look at me.” That shushed you. “But this cannot go on.”
“Oh really? Why not? You seemed to be enjoying it just as much as I was last night,” you bristled. A hand cupped your face. Hela’s eyes were filled with cold determination, but her touch was soft.
“I am a Goddess, dear,” she said. “You are human.”
“That didn’t stop Thor,” you bit back, and immediately regretted it. She looked taken aback a moment, and sighed.
“And where is she now, hm? Sweetheart, as much as I like it here, there isn’t a way where we could ever be more than just this.”
“Don’t say that,” you whispered. “Don’t say you just like it here. Because unless you’re a really good actor or just love fucking, last night was not you just liking it.”
“Y/N-,”
“Say it, Hela. Please. This wasn’t just a one-off fuck, I know that. Tell me the truth,” you pleaded. “Tell me you want to stay. With me.”
Hela’s heart was throbbing with pain and love as she looked at you, young, thriving, alive, but so very mortal. Her throat was choking up, and she could barely make herself say it.
You were about to plead and confess your stupid amount of love for her when the front door swung open.
There stood Tony, in filthy and shattered pieces of armour. He was the only one who could probably override Alfred’s system without any hassle since he was the one who created it, but you yelped in surprise nonetheless.
Behind him were an equally filthy Thor and Black Widow, looking exhausted and defeated.
“Oh my,” you managed to say. Hela stepped away from you quickly, but the three newcomers saw your embrace nonetheless.
Tony, completely disinterested in Hela, came up to you quickly.
“Three things. Go,” he ordered, one of his iron gloves charging up. His eyes were wild, and you could barely process his words at first. You then began prattling off the three secret things you and him had agreed upon to be codewords between the two of you. When Tony realized it truly was you and believed it, he wrapped you in a tight hug.
“Ouch!” you exclaimed at the jutting metal scraps of his suit digging into your skin.
“Sorry,” he said, pulling away. “Had to make sure.”
“Y/N, the hell is going on here?” Thor growled, eyes darting between you and Hela, who was leaning against the counter opposite you, wearing regular clothes, arms unshackled and crossed nonchalantly.
“I- nothing. I should be asking you the same question,” you retorted. “Where’s Loki?”
Thor shook his head and your heart sank.
“What happened?”
“This is her, then?” Natasha asked, your question ignored, eyeing up Hela.
“Uh, this is Hela, my.. friend. Hela, this is Tony and Natasha.”
“Friend my ass, what the hell have you two been up to? Seriously, Y/N, it hasn’t even been that long,” Tony scolded, glaring at her.
“Hey, shut up, Stark. You don’t know half of it.”
“And neither do you, clearly. Have you any idea what’s been happening out there? Why the hell didn’t you answer any of my calls?”
“What? Everything’s fine here, and I haven’t been outside in a little while, okay? What’s happened?”
Thor slammed a hand against the wall, and if it wasn’t for Tony’s architectural reinforcements, he would’ve made a hole. “Thanos won.”
Hela’s face went pale, but you didn’t notice as you tried to remember what you knew about Thanos.
“What?”
“Thanos.” Natasha hissed, putting her hands on her hips. “Half the world’s just gone. Vanished. We lost.”
“Hold on, what are you even talking about?” you asked, confused, laughing nervously. “There’s no way.. you guys never lose.”
“They’re right, Y/N,” Hela whispered. Silence followed and you looked at her as if she’d grown three heads.
The four of you stared at the Goddess and she approached you carefully.
“That’s what I felt yesterday. Impending doom.”
“You... knew?” you asked, voice small.
“Not exactly. But... there was something,” her eyes darted over your face, trying to read your reaction as she kept talking. “I didn’t know it was Thanos at first, I swear.”
Thor rushed forward and yanked Hela back by her hair, spinning them around to slam her back against the wall. She groaned in pain and your heart jumped.
“Thor!” you yelled, but couldn’t do anything else.
“What do you know?” he growled. His hand was gripping her neck, the neck that had just been recovering from the red marks of the collar she’d been wearing for days straight. The neck that you’d kissed and stroked and admired just the night before. You blinked back tears, but held you ground.
"Tell us!” he shouted. Hela breathing was ragged and you snapped, reaching to grab at his arm.
“Thor- Thor, please, you’re hurting her,” you began, and then quickly adding, “she can’t speak if you’re choking her, you idiot!”
He let her go and she slumped to the ground. Your heart broke in a million pieces, but Thor held you back, whether because he knew you’d rush to her side or out of concern that Hela was a threat. The three Avengers aimed at your new lover pressed against the wall as they waited.
“I knew of.. Thanos,” Hela grumbled hoarsely, looking at Thor and avoiding your gaze altogether. “We all did. You cannot go about conquering worlds and not know of Thanos. But he never came close to Asgard, so he was never a concern of ours.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, sister,” Thor growled. “The minute we were back in space after we left you here, Thanos came to take the Tesseract, the Space Stone.”
Hela’s face drained of its remaining colour, and you listened intently to what he said, all good feelings of the morning and night before disappearing as Thor explained what had happened.
“He killed half of our remaining people,” Thor’s voice was nearly breaking. “For the sake of his mission. There’s hardly anyone left. And now Earth, too!”
“Did you know Thanos was coming to Earth?” Natasha asked coolly. Hela shook her head slowly, her eyes misty.
“Did he... kill everyone?” you asked, shaking.
“He used the Infinity Stones to snap half of our population out of existence,” Tony said. “They’re basically dead, but not. Just... smoke.”
“Who?” you trembled, hugging yourself tightly.
“Fury,” Tony began, staring at the ground. “T’Challa, Wanda... Peter.”
“No!” you gasped, your mind reeling. You shook your head in disbelief, wobbly on your feet.
“They’re not the only ones,” Natasha added.
“And there’s nothing we can do?” you asked.
“We don't know yet. It’s been... busy,” Tony said. You grabbed a glass of water, shaking.
“Y/N,” Natasha came up to you and put a reassuring hand on your shoulder. You wanted it to be Hela’s.
“No, I’m okay,” you waved her away. “Just.. why did you come here? I can’t help you.”
“We needed to know what had happened to you.”
“And I need to take my sister away from here,” Thor said, pulling Hela up to her feet. “You’re in far too much danger with her.”
“What? No, Thor!” you exclaimed. Natasha held you back.
“She’s too dangerous, you were right. We have to get rid of her if she doesn’t have anything to tell us.”
“Thor, it’s fine. I’m alive, don’t you see? She hasn’t hurt me at all. Please,” you begged. “You’re not thinking straight. She’s not dangerous!”
“We need to make sure of any connections Thanos had, Y/N,” Tony said calmly. “And a Goddess of Death does sound suspicious, don’t you think?”
“Come along, sister,” Thor said gruffly.
“Where are you taking her?” your voice was thick.
“Away from here, maybe Hel will be just as welcoming as last time. How about it, Hela? We may just have to banish you again.”
That set Hela’s eyes ablaze and she pulled away from Thor’s grip. Her infamous armour appeared, glinting black and green in the light. You paled as a large, menacing blade formed in her hand and she took a defensive stance.
“You will not take me back there,” she hissed. “You’ll have to kill me first.”
“Yeah, pass,” Tony replied, aiming at Hela with one iron hand and shooting a beam straight towards her. You screamed at the flash, but she seemed unaffected. Her armour absorbed the shock and took no damage. The blade deflected Natasha’s bullets and she easily stepped away from Thor’s punches and kicks.
You were frozen to the spot, watching Hela with blood lust and battle fever in her eyes. Her mouth was pulled into a snarl and she managed to pin Natasha against the wall, blades sticking through the fabric of her suit, but leaving her unharmed.
Blinking, you realized she was avoiding hurting your friends, but at a great cost. She had to take the offensive blows without retaliation and you knew this new-found strength wasn’t going to last forever.
An arm pulled you by the waist and Tony held you firmly, the distinct charging sound of his hand starting just by the side of your head.
“Yield, Hela,” Thor shouted, booming with anger. Once she saw they had you, she stopped. There was brief silence and Natasha managed to pull herself away from the blades.
Hela’s chest was heaving, her eyes flickering between each opponent. When she made eye contact with you, something broke within both of you.
“Let her go,” she ordered. Surely she knew they wouldn’t hurt you?
“Not until you agree to come with us and give us the answers we need,” Natasha said.
“I have no answers for you,” she said softly. “I cannot help you. I cannot fix what Thanos has done. Now let Y/N go and I will do as you say.”
“I don’t believe her,” Thor said. “She will very easily turn on you. My sister will only do what is in her best interest. Don’t let her go yet, Tony.”
“Don’t worry, kiddo,” Tony whispered in your ear. “Just play along.”
You didn’t say anything and looked at Hela, knowing the pain she felt. If she complied, you’d become the puppet for the Avengers to use to make her talk, and that idea terrified both of you. She’d give herself up, even though she had nothing to confess.
“Hela, please,” you whispered, trying to tug away from Tony’s grasp. She stared at you, battle armour and all, with a single tear spilling from her eyes. Her usually hardened demeanour was crumbling, and just when you thought she was going to give in, she turned, ran, and jumped straight through your window, shattering the glass and tumbling to the ground below.
A scream escaped your throat that you couldn’t recognize. Tony let you go as you hurried to the window to see Hela running away at lightning speed, disappearing behind buildings and crowds before you could say anything else.

Bakudeku Au fic, final chapter
For the first few months of their new arrangement, the mated pair settled into a routine of sorts. Almost every night, the okami would return to the Shrine after nightfall and spend it with Izuku, but always left before the sun peaked over the horizon the following morning. It was okay for the time being since now Katsuki could take his time in re-educating the kitsune on the ways of a yokai. And there was so much that Izuku had no clue about. Until now, he only had the scant information left by the previous shrine keeper and the instinctual sides he couldn’t avoid. But even those had not gone without question because he didn’t always understand why he felt the way he felt or did the things he did. For instance, he thought he was ‘born’ to live a life in the shrine, but that wasn’t true at all. The god created them for purposes, such as the okami to protect the wolves and forest, the kitsune too had a similar role. Then at some point when the current shrine was built upon the mountain, the kitsune yokai pledged to help the humans. Generations later left the likes of Izuku in a role he didn’t even know why it existed but performed faithfully… until now.
The information left him semi-torn about his life. Should he continue to honor that treaty and stay at the shrine, or give into his instincts and become a free protector of the forest? It shouldn’t be such a difficult choice, but what brought on the anxiety fell more into could he do it? Could he learn to fend for himself? It was an internal battle that’s been raging from before he and Katsuki mated, but now took center stage. Of course, the okami assured his mate that he wouldn’t be alone. As the alpha it was his responsibility to provide for and protect his omega, especially if the kitsune became pregnant. And besides, Izuku needed to give himself more credit for his strength. Katsuki pointed out how the man had risked his life to save an injured wolf, did that not show how strong or brave he could be when needed? Izuku had no argument against such a statement.
Still, that didn’t calm his mind, if anything, new thoughts would come for Izuku to mill over. Okay fine, maybe he would be okay for himself, but what about with the pups Katsuki mentioned. He’d have to worry about protecting their lives. A family was just another topic he was trying to wrap his brain around. Like first off, they were both canines but not the same species. Again, it was the okami who reminded the kitsune of magic, that they don’t operate under the same laws of nature. Which didn’t really explain much at all, so he simply put it aside instead of continuing the conversation. Next, if they were to desire a family, Izuku definitely would need to leave the shrine. Katsuki wasn’t pressing him over the topic, but maybe it was those omegan features kicking in that made the kitsune think about it. Like some hormonal drive to reproduce because he certainly never felt such instincts before!
One night after another mellow round of love making, they lay there cuddled in Izuku’s bed.
“Kacchan,” the kitsune whispered with hesitation in his tone. “Why haven’t I become pregnant considering how often we do this?”
“Where the hell did this question come from?”
“I know it’s random… but, oh, I don’t know, it’s just something I been wondering about for a few weeks now.”
Katsuki’s turned Izuku around to face him. “If you really must know. I’ve been using magic to sterilize my seed because I know you’re not ready.”
That answer made the kitsune a little irritated. Shouldn’t such a decision be made by both of them, together?! Regardless of if he was ready or not. “That’s not fair.” Izuku pouted.
“Oh, and you saying you are? You know full well you cannot be working here and get pregnant. Look, you should be happy that I’m not pressuring you to leave this place immediately and take your place in my nest where you belong.”
“I don’t know what to do,” Izuku whimpered in toil.
Katsuki was digging down deep not to lose his patience right now, but after months of waiting could anyone blame him? He took a deep breath to control himself from growling. “I know you’re scared of being away from here, but I don’t know how many more ways I can say it, you don’t have to be. I’ll take care of you and our family when we have one. You just need to decide between the shrine and me.”
“Decide right now?”
“No. Now you sleep,” Katsuki bundled the kitsune against his body preferring to end the night for now and deal with it later. “But you will need to do it soon.”
But Izuku was no fool and could sense the irritation in his mate. He could tell Katsuki was just holding back from lashing out. “You’re not mad at me… are you?”
“I’m trying not to be. So, go to sleep.”
Izuku’s voice lowered, quivering in tone. “I know you just picked me because I’m the only yokai around, and I’m okay with that. I’m just sorry I’m so weak.”
That was the last straw. Izuku’s self-defeating aura and sadness was oozing out and pissing him off! Even though the alpha within him felt pained, it wasn’t enough to change Katsuki’s mind. He sat up with teeth partially bared and speaking through a gritted tone. “That’s bullshit! I could’ve left the area and found someone else if I’d wanted to! I told you, I picked you because I liked what I saw. Yeah, you ain’t physically strong like me, but you have your own strength, a kind of strength I’d never possess, and if you can’t recognize that, then… Argh! You need to figure shit out! The okami leapt to his feet. “I’m going home! When you’re ready to make a damn decision. You know where to find me!”
“Kacchan!” Izuku cried out as his mate transformed and bounded out of the dwelling, but it was too late. He’d screwed up big time all because he was such a weak fool! How did Katsuki ever see a strength in him? Where was it? Just look at him, he was small, skinny, and always nervous of making a mistake. His mate was right. He couldn’t see whatever it was that Katsuki saw in him.
Izuku curled up into a ball and pulled the blanket over his body as he wept openly. The omegan part of him was in so much pain… it called out for its mate, cried at the loss… oh, it hurt so much! Kami, it felt like someone had ripped his heart right out of his chest and stomped it into the ground. He’d never felt so much pain before and even though physically there was nothing wrong, his entire body was suffering. It ached, every bone, every fiber of his being a wave of numbness and throbbing all mixed together. This must be the bond, Izuku realized. Until now their bond had given nothing but pleasure and now it burned like the hottest fire from the sun.
“Kacchan…” he whimpered into the silent night air. The darkness consumed him inside and out. What to do… what to do… he needed Katsuki to breathe, to live or a broken bond would surely kill him.
He didn’t know at what point he’d fallen asleep, maybe from pure exhaustion, but the next thing Izuku knew he could see light filtering though the blanket. Morning had arrived and with it an absolutely shocking pain, twice the level of anguish as the night before. His mind was reeling, so fogged over from all the turmoil that he could barely move, barely function. “Kacchan!” He screamed out! Ready or not, it couldn’t go on like this. For all his fears and anxieties, the only thing he knew for certain, bond or not, was he needed Katsuki. He loved Katsuki. And so right then and there Izuku knew what he needed to do. It physically hurt to get up, but Izuku did his best to dress himself and stumble into the shrine. All these months he’d hidden any sign of changes. Now it was time to come clean. He couldn’t stay.
The priests were already up and about doing their daily chores like usual. So, while remaining cordial despite his slow, pained movements, Izuku searched for the elder to speak with. Elder priest Toshinori was a kind and caring man, over 80 years old by Izuku’s estimation and had been at this shrine for close to 60 years. Izuku cared a lot about the elder, like a surrogate grandfather figure who was always ready with wise words and guidance for any seeking it out. But he could tell this man’s younger years were hard and laborious. Though thin and aged now, his sinewy tanned skin and worn hands were a testament to a hard upbringing. Izuku often wondered if this is why Toshinori was wiser than many of the others that had passed through these grounds over the centuries. Many priests came from relatively stable but lower-ranking homes who wouldn’t see such a poor upbringing. This man lived and came with experiences to guide his beliefs in a wiser way.
He found the elder in the sanctum reading.
“Mr. Toshinori.”
“Ah, Izuku,” the man looked up from his book. “I was wondering when you might come to me.”
Izuku sat down in front of the man bowing low. “Mr. Toshinori, I don’t know how to say this properly, but I must leave the shrine.”
“I know, and I understand.”
“Wait, how did you know?!” Izuku sat up straight in confusion. “I-I was sure I’d hidden the okami well.”
Toshinori smiled. “For a time, you did, but I sensed changes in you, positive changes. You hid them well, but a sparkle in your eye as you looked at the forest, at times just a pause in your routine as you were deep in thought, smiling to yourself. I knew something was happening to you and I must say it was nice to see you so happy.”
Tears were gathering in Izuku’s eyes at how understanding the priest was being. The internal struggle slowly lessened inside. “I am,” the smile broke free. “He makes me feel so alive, but I’m torn to leave the shrine and everyone here.”
“Young Izuku, it is natural to leave the nest when it is time. This shrine is all you know, and the world can be a very scary place, but it is also part of life to go out into and find your true meaning.”
“Is that what happened to you?”
“In a way,” the man chuckled. “Your kind has served and protected this shrine well for a long time but at the expense of losing your very nature.”
“But I want to continue protecting this shrine! I love this place! I love this forest!”
The man leaned forward with a serious expression. “Izuku, would it be too impossible to achieve from outside of the shrine?”
Izuku quieted in thought for a moment before responding. “No, I suppose not.”
“Then the answer is you can still protect what you love and be with whom you love at the same time.”
“I… I never thought of it that way…” ‘Like how Katsuki had protected the offerings…’ “I can do that!” Izuku bowed again to the priest. “Thank you, Mr. Toshinori! I promise, I’ll still help at the shrine, but I will live in the forest from now on.”
Toshinori placed a hand on Izuku’s bowed head. “I trust you will, young Izuku. And do bring your family around someday, I’d like to meet them before I die.”
Izuku looked up with a blush. “O-Okay, I will!”
The air rushing past his face felt exhilarating in his kitsune form. It had been a while since he’d used the full fox body, but ever since he’d consciously made the decision to go to Katsuki, all the pain relaxed, and he wanted to find his mate as quickly as possible. Izuku couldn’t explain what this newly realized sense of freedom felt like, all he knew is he felt lighter. It might take some time to get used to it after being on such a regimented schedule all his life, but it was simply amazing.
He rushed straight for Katsuki’s den hoping his mate would be there, sending out his scent ahead as a calling card. Oh, how he wanted to just snuggle into the Okami’s thick beautiful fur! ‘Please be there!’ Izuku crooned and whined as the pull of their bond grew stronger and stronger. Katsuki must be close! His body could sense it, feel it as he arrived at the entrance to the cave. “Kacchan!” Izuku called out. Movement up ahead was picked up quickly by the kitsunes sensitivity’s hearing.
Finally, the large form of a wolf stood at the apex of the cavern and tunnel, and the happy tears Izuku had been holding back broke free. It was his mate. Soothing energy flowed out from the okami and wrapped the kitsune in a welcoming embrace.
Izuku whined and pressed forward into the okami’s welcoming embrace. “Kacchan, I’m home!”

Love, but make it Magic!
Werewolf! Hwang Hyunjin x Reader
*Contains*: mentions of blood/fighting, slight angst (if you squint), bullying, fighting, slight swearing, Enemies to lovers if you squint, school based on western standards, werewolf Hyunjin, witch/vampire reader
Nothing too bad overall. Mainly fluff. I sometimes use italics for emphasis. I use typical quotes for speech :)
Narrators POV
In today’s society, supernatural beings like vampires and werewolves are believed to be mythical creatures. Few people believe in their existence and have many false stereotypes surrounding these creatures’ existence. In reality they do exist. Supernaturals or whatever you like to call them, live a life hidden from society. They play the role of innocent humans in a world where they aren’t accepted. In certain areas, schools and housing are built to house strictly supernatural creatures. Despite their separation from the world, they still have many disputes between each other.
Name’s POV
My life has never been easy. From a young age I’ve been pressured to fit into a society that I was not designed for. I’m half witch, half vampire, a deadly combination in today’s world. Not only am I hated by humans but I’m also hated by other supernaturals due to some dumb disputes among species. I lived among humans for the the first portion of my life. I was constantly in fear for what might happen to me if I was discovered. I had to live and act exactly as a human, which was never an easy task. Thankfully, for college I was able to go somewhere I better fit in, an all supernatural college, NX University. My parents were opposed to me going due to their meek status against humans, but I needed a change in lifestyle. Thankfully I managed to get multiple scholarships to the school.
I had been living on campus for a few months. Everything was going smoothly. My stress and anxiety of blending in was long forgotten and I was able to express myself through my supernatural abilities. I took courses on witchcraft and alchemy, things I never would’ve had the opportunity to learn in human society. I shared a dorm with a fellow witch from my classes. Her name was Sunghee. She was what could only be described as text book beauty. She had glowing ginger hair that flowed over her shoulders and large green eyes. Her face was littered with freckles and she was rather slim. To go along with her innocent looks came her witchcraft. She was what humans would describe as a ‘good witch’. She practiced strictly healing and protection magic and had made a pact with herself to never engage in battle. She often spent her days collecting and researching herbs she discovered around campus.
After a long day of classes I was heading back to the dorm. I had what could be described as an infinite amount of homework and I wasn’t exactly excited to lose sleep working on it. As I approached the door I noticed something.
“Hmm? The door is locked? That’s strange. Sunghee usually leaves it open...” I mumbled to myself as I shuffled through my bag, searching for my spare key.
“Maybe she went to the shops for more herbs..”
As I unlocked the door and entered, I was greeted by emptiness. The place was sparkling clean, which was very unusual for Sunghee. She was more like the ‘messily organized’ type so seeing the place so clean was shocking. As I approached the small kitchen table, I noticed a crinkled note taped to the fridge. It read :
‘Hey name! Sorry for the sudden departure but I had some family business to attend to. I’ll probably be back by the end of this quarter. As an apology for leaving so fast I tidied up the place! Also, you don’t have to worry about caring for my plants and such! My friend Hyunjin will be staying here to take care of them! Hopefully you won’t mind!
- xoxo Sunghee ♡︎
“Only Sunghee would do something like this so suddenly and think nothing of it.” I sighed. I guess I had to get used to living with someone else for a while.
“I should really start my homework....I don’t want to be up all night.” I shook my head.
My head had been buzzing with witchcraft and algebra work for what seemed like hours. I was so focused on finishing my work before the clock struck midnight that when a knock on the door sounded through the dorm, I nearly fell out of my chair.
“Who in their right mind would arrive at this hour...” As much as I disliked the idea of talking, I still ran to open the door. As the old wooden door creaked open, the sight behind it almost made me fall over again. Standing at the door was a tall and lanky boy with longer blonde hair tied up in the back. He was beautiful and his perfection was accentuated by the small birthmark under his left check. I couldn’t put a finger on his name but I had definitely seen him before. He was deemed the school’s ‘pretty boy’ from what I could remember.
“Excuse me but what do you need? It’s quite late and I’m not exactly sure what you want from me?” I questioned as I leaned on the door frame in exhaustion.
“Oh hi. You must be name. I’m Sunghee’s ‘childhood friend’ you could say. She asked me stay here for a while to watch over her plants or whatever.” He shrugged as he pushed his hair back. Now that I looked at him closely I noticed he was carrying a large duffel bag packed to the brim.
“You? Stay here? There must be some sort of confusion. I thought a girl by the name of Hyunjin would be staying here?” I blinked in confusion.
“Oh she never explained fully then huh?” He chuckled. “My name’s Hwang Hyunjin. I’m not exactly a girl but I understand your confusion. You were probably thinking of Kim Hyunjin. She’s a girl in the shapeshifter division.” He suffled around awkwardly. “So are you gonna let me in?”
“Hoooold on there. I have no idea who you are! You expect me to just casually share a place with you for months? When I’m just meeting you for the first time now? Plus you’re a werewolf aren’t you? Bold of you to assume I could naturally just trust you!” I was beyond shocked at his audacity.
“Come ooonnn! I’m just tired ok! It wasn’t exactly my idea to stay here. Sunghee kinda sprang it on me this morning.” He sighed once again, rubbing his neck.
“Is that supposed to make me feel better? If you’re trying to convince me to stay with some guy I just met than you’re doing a terrible job.” I chided.
“Look, we don’t even have to see each other or talk to each other. Ok? I’m just as unenthusiastic about this as you are but I know Sunghee would skin me alive if I didn’t care for her precious plants.”
I huffed. “I’m honestly too tired to continue with this conversation. Fine you can stay, but you better keep the place sparkling! Pull your weight in chores and maybe I won’t kick you out.” I didn’t plan on caving so easily but I was exhausted and needed sleep. I let the boy inside and then shut myself in my room for the night.
The next few weeks were....rough. Living with a teenage boy was hard enough but with him being a werewolf it was even worse. Despite trying to keep the place clean, everyday the place would be in shambles. He slept on the couch but would often shift to his wolf form while sleeping and ravage the place. Even with his sudden outbursts, Hyunjin did try his best to keep true to his deal. He rarely bothered me and the only time we really had a conversation was when he accidentally ate Sunghee’s herbs and needed information on which ones he should buy in replacement. One thing I did notice about Hyunjin was his habit to get home quite late. I was typically up into the late hours of the night doing homework so I always heard him come home. He would always be panting and out of breath, as if he had been chased back to the dorm. I did wonder what he was up to but I never confronted him about it, that is until one specific time.
It was a dreary Friday night in early October and I was finishing my physics homework for the week. Due to my growing hunger I decided to make some popcorn and maybe watch a movie later. As I was pouring the popcorn in a large bowl, I heard the front door slam open. Hyunjin must’ve been home. I didn’t greet him, as I didn’t typically do so but I could tell something was off by how he was breathing. He was panting much heavier than I had ever heard and seemed to be groaning in pain. I decided to ask what was wrong and finally discover what was happening. When I turned to question him, I was shocked by his appearance.
Standing in the doorway was Hyunjin. He was drenched it what appeared to be a mixture of blood, sweat and rain as it had been storming outside. What shocked me the most were the large scratches and cuts scattered throughout his body. The most noticeable of them were placed near his heart, from which blood seeped into his shirt. He also appeared to have some bruises forming on his face and his nose was bleeding. The last feature I noticed were the pitch black ears and tail that sprouted from his head and lower back. He was in partial wolf form.
“What the hell happened to you?!” I exclaimed. I wasn’t exactly expecting a bloody Hyunjin to walk through the door.
“Uhh....” he spun around, eyes wide in shock. He was like a deer caught in headlights. “I got into a small fight...” He mumbled, scratching his neck awkwardly. He wasn’t expecting me to be home.
“Bullshit! You wouldn’t look like walking road kill if it was just a small fight! Tell me what really happened!” I huffed. I wasn’t usually one to get mad easily but I had been suspicious of Hyunjin for a while and wanted answers.
“Fine...fine... I guess I owe you an explanation at least...” he stumbled forward out of shock and exhaustion. I quickly set the bowl down and went to help him walk to the couch. He was still badly injured.
“Fine but before you explain we better fix your injuries. You may be a werewolf but those wounds are deep. Without treatment they could get infected.” I quickly jogged into Sunghee’s room to fetch a first aid kit.
“Unlike Sunghee, I’m not a herbs and healing witch. I’ll have to patch you up the old fashion way.” I snickered. This would’ve been a lot easier with Sunghee.
“Fine, just get it over with.” Hyunjin sighed. I could still sense his distress from his previous experience.
I started with the cuts on his face. I washed them with a damp cloth followed by alcohol wipes. Hyunjin cringed in pain. I placed small bandages over the wounds and moved on to his chest. As embarrassing as it was, I was forced to lift up his shirt to access the scratches. Any other day the blonde would of teased me for being shy but he was currently in too much distress to do so. The wounds were deep but just shallow enough to not need stitches. I applied the same treatment as I did with his face but used a wrap of bandage instead.
“Ok Hwang, explain.” I crossed my arms as I huffed.
“Fine, fine.” He shuffled in his seat, cringing in pain as he felt his injuries stretch.
“I wasn’t lying when I said I got into a fight, but it was definitely more serious than usual. I’m sure you’ve noticed by now but I usually get home late and after a run in with some not so great people. They’re a group of vampires and shapeshifters that are a part of my gym class. I do excessively well in that class and I guess they were jealous of that so that’s why they first approached me. They wanted to ‘knock me down a peg’ and put me back in my place. It probably would’ve ended there but I’m so terrible at controlling my wolf form that I snarled at them. They chased me home after that. The past few weeks I’ve tried to avoid them, more for their safety than mine. I would sprint home each day in hopes of not starting any drama. Today was the one day I didn’t run home and those punks took advantage of it. They picked a fight with me and out of exhaustion I partially turned and swiped at them. They were pissed. My accidental turning led to them ‘beating me up’ except I was far stronger and managed to do more damage.”
“Wow.” Despite my suspicion I was still a bit shocked to hear the whole story. “I never would have pictured your lazy ass to be a fighter Hyunjin..” I chuckled. “That’s hilarious.” I subtly laughed into my hand. My exhaustion combined with the fact that Hyunjin ran away out of embarrassment made the situation seem hilarious to me.
“Don’t laugh! Hey! I try to keep the place clean! I do my best!” He chided, dramatically waving his hands around in exasperation. Now that I focused on him I realized he was still half turned.
“Hyunjin..” I giggled “You dumbass! Your ears are still out! Can you even tell?!” At my examination he quickly slammed his hands against his head, feeling that his ears were in fact still showing.
“Dammit! I swear these things have a mind of their own! If it weren’t for these dumb ears, I could’ve avoided all that drama!” He groaned as he tried to push his ears back into his head. I giggled and rolled my eyes. “You really do suck at controlling your wolf! As much as it pains me maybe I could help you out?” I stifled my laughter as I wanted Hyunjin to take me seriously. “Oh really? And how do you plan to do that?” He questioned, tilting his head to the side like a lost puppy. “I’m part witch! don’t you remember? I could make you something that can help you control your wolf better! For the time being I can cast a spell on you to alter your appearance! I’d have to be with you during school though...” I mumbled. Despite being ‘roommates’ I didn’t consider us to be close friends
“You’d really do that for me? Ya know you’re a lot cooler than you let on.” He chuckled.
“Hey!”
“Could you maybe tutor me while your at it?”
“Don’t push your luck, pretty boy!”
Over the next few months, Hyunjin and I spent a lot more time together. Initially it came as a shock to the rest of the school. He was a werewolf and I was part vampire, both species that had strongly disliked each other for years. Along with this, the blonde was far more popular than I was. I was more the ‘nerdy witch’ type, who’s only care was grades. Despite all our differences, we got along extremely well. Someone who had never met use before would’ve thought we had been friends for years or even lovers. Due to our tight knit relationship, it was a common task to deny relationship rumors. As promised I did start working on a formula that would help Hyunjin with his transformations. For the time being, I simply cast an illusion spell on him each morning and would check with him throughout the day to assure it was still in effect. Throughout my growing relationship with the boy, I began to feel confused. I felt strong emotions for him, emotions I had never felt before and didn’t understand. I finally figured them out when on the phone with Sunghee. As I described to her my new found friendship with Hyunjin and how much I wanted to hang out with him, Sunghee pieced together that I must’ve liked him , or in her words had a ‘crush’. I immediately dismissed the idea, but over the following week I noticed just how much I liked his company. There was no other way to explain it. Thankfully it didn’t appear to hinder our friendship at the time so I simply pushed the thoughts to the back back of my head.
Currently it was approaching the end of October meaning both finals for that semester and Halloween were in the upcoming week. Hyunjin was stressed to say the least. Despite all the tutoring I gave him, he was still adamant on needing my help to prepare. I decided to make a deal with him. For my witchcraft class I had a final project which required a non-witch partner. If he agreed to do the project with me I could tutor him again for free.
“Wait so what is this project again?” Hyunjin questioned as he took a bite out of pumpkin pie. We were sitting in the kitchen discussing our study plans for that week.
“Well it’s for my witchcraft class, it’s my final project. I need a non-witch partner and I thought you’d be perfect for for it!” I chided, throwing my arm over his shoulder.
“The premise of the project is to develop the three main elements of witchcraft through a secret mission into human territory-“
“What?” His eyes widened in shock as he choked on the pie he was practically inhaling. I patted his back to help with his coughs. He sighed and wiped his mouth. “What do you mean human territory?! It suuuuper dangerous over there! How could they assign that as a school project?!” He was surprised to say the least.
“Look Hyunjin I don’t see what the big deal is. It’s not like I didn’t live half of my life surrounded by humans. Just because you’re some rich prince boy who has never seen a human in their life doesn’t give you the excuse to back out on me now.” I sighed as I rubbed my temples.
“The majority of humans are pretty chill. They won’t notice anything if we keep a low profile. All we need to do is collect an item for each element of witchcraft, that’s three in total. We’ll be in and out of there in no time!”
“Ughh... As much as I hate the idea of us walking directly into danger, I can’t afford to fail this test. Plus with all the things you’ve done for me, I think I owe you one.” He chuckled.
“Then that’s settled! Well leave tomorrow!” I clapped my hands together. “Better start packing Hwang!” I shouted as I dashed to my room.
That night I packed the necessities I would need for the small trip. I packed a map, money, a change of clothes, water, snacks, and some tools for spell-craft. Hyunjin and I were to be disguised as travelers who were stopping at the nearest town for some materials. The disguise had to be convincing so I told Hyunjin to wear old, battered clothes and bring nothing too flashy. The only downside to this town was their utter fear of supernatural beings. Many humans could care less but for some this fear had evolved into hatred. If any supernaturals were discovered in or near the town, they would most likely be executed on the spot. In order to keep our cover from being blown, I could not risk the use of the spell I typically used on Hyunjin. He questioned me about it before leaving.
“Wait! What about the spell? You know I still suck at control right?” He questioned, lugging his tan backpack from his bedroom.
“I can’t risk anyone noticing. You’ll have to survive without it for one day. Just wear a hoodie or something to cover your ears if they happen to appear.” He nodded, nervous as ever. “Don’t worry it’ll be fine!” I smiled. “Let’s get going.
The beginning of the project went perfectly. We were able to slip into the town with few people noticing our presence. For the grade, I needed to collect three objects to represent the three elements of witchcraft : defense, offense and recovery. The recovery object was the easiest so we decided to gather that item first. We stopped at a small tea and herb shop, which they surprisingly had, and I bought multiple bags of herbal tea along with healing incense. We did get some strange looks in the store but nothing crazy, they probably weren’t used to teenagers visiting a dusty shop like that. Next was defense. It seemed easy enough. Hyunjin suggested we buy a plank of strongly crafted wood and have it shaped into a shield. He went and gathered that part of the project while I purchased solvents from a scientist that I could use in defense spells. The final element was definitely the most difficult. Offense or in short, something that could kill. Sure we could’ve found a sharp stick or snatched a spear from some old museum but those wouldn’t get me a good grade. I needed something special.
“Hey Look! A weaponry shop! That’s exactly what we’re looking for I chided, pulling him behind me by his sweatshirt sleeve. “We can probably get a gun or something here...” I mumbled. As we entered the small shop we were greeted by an old man. He didn’t say anything directed towards us but a simple ‘Welcome. Shout if you need help’.
“Let’s go quick Hyunjin. I wanna get out of here as soon as possible.” I whispered to the boy as I signaled him to follow me into the store.
“Okay, okay. What do you want me to look for?” He whispered back.
“Find a dagger or knife of sorts, I’ll find a small handgun. Don’t buy anything too gaudy though, we don’t wanna draw attention on the way out.” I walked to the back of the store that was labeled as the gun section. I picked out two small handguns along with a couple packs of ammunition, keeping in mind how they would fit in my pack. I quickly met Hyunjin at the front counter. He had picked out a dark green Swiss Army knife along with what appeared to be a hunters knife. If the store owner didn’t walk out at that moment, we probably would’ve slipped out without paying.
“Hello! Is this all you want today?” He questioned. We both nodded placing the weapons on the counter. He wrapped the items lightly then packed them into a small bag. He handed the bag to Hyunjin as I shuffled through my bag for cash.
“Why you both look pretty young! You wouldn’t mind showing me your weapons license by any chance right?”
Shit. I didn’t think of that. I shuffled through my bag in despair.
“Umm you see sir I think I must’ve lost it while traveling....” I rubbed my neck, hoping he would buy my childish lie.
“I’m sorry but I need to see it in order for you to buy these weapons miss.” He smiled, an eerie smile at that.
“I’m so sorry sir but I can’t find it....” I awkwardly smiled back.
“Well then missy, you’ll have to give those back!” He reached and grabbed at the bag which Hyunjin had handed to me. Out of instinct I pulled it back towards me, effectively loosing my balance and stumbling back into the blonde. It didn’t take long for us to trip over each other and fall to the floor.
“You...you monsters! I knew something was up with you!” The man at the front screeched, flailing his arms about wildly. I furrowed my brows in confusion. It made sense when I finally caught sight of the boy beside me. The fall had effectively knocked the hood of his head and thanks to our luck, his ears were out on full display. We were screwed.
“Dammit Hyunjin!” I yelled throwing myself up from the floor and grabbing at him to get up. “Time to run!” Finally grasping the situation, the blonde sprang up from the floor and dashed out the door beside me. As we sprinted through the city, we heard what sounded like gunshots. I assumed they were signal flares, something to notify the people that supernaturals were there. It didn’t take long before a group of crazed humans were chasing after us with spears and guns. Just as the gunshots began to sound, I managed to put up a protective barrier around us.
“Hyunjin we gotta get out of here as fast as we can! We can’t risk dying or letting them know the school’s location!” I huffed. Running was hard. “I can only keep this barrier up for so long! Do you have any ideas?” I desperately shouted as we made a mad dash away from the town. His eyes seemed to sparkle in excitement at me asking for his help. He had an idea.
“You might not like this idea but I think it could work!” He shouted back.
“What is it?”
“I’m gonna need you to trust me fully! On the count of three, I’ll transform into full wolf form and run out of here with you on my back! There’s no way they could catch up to us!” He panted, his golden eyes shimmering in the sunlight.
“You’re really crazy sometimes Hwang, but this time I’m willing to trust you! Just don’t let us get killed ok?!”
“Alright it’ll take me a minute to transform fully! If you can hold up this barrier for that long we should be fine!”
“Alright!” We stopped suddenly. I closed my eyes in concentration as I chanted the spell for the protective barrier. As I did so, Hyunjin transformed into a beautiful, sleek black wolf.
‘Hop on!’ I heard him speak to me through subconscious thoughts. It didn’t take another word from him for me to swing my legs over his back and latch onto his fur. “Go Hyunjin!” I shouted, causing the wolf to sprint forwards, almost three times as fast as the pace we were previously at.
We ran for what seemed like years. The sounds of gunshots and angry shouts seemed to fade into the distance long ago. We had lost them. Upon passing the school gates, we both collapsed on a grassy area, Hyunjin returning to his human form. I rolled onto the ground in exhaustion. I wasn’t exactly the ‘athletic type’ and that amount of exercise was painful. I chuckled as I saw Hyunjin collapse beside me.
“What are you laughing at?!” He jeered.
“Heh, at least we didn’t die! Now you won’t fail your finals since you are guaranteed my help in studying! Aren’t you happy about that?” I chuckled again.
“Ignoring the fact that we almost died, that was the most fun I’ve had in years! Who would’ve though you to be my best friend-“ I was cut off by the sensation of warm lips against mine. Hyunjin was kissing me. I could feel my face heat up but I kissed back. His feelings were clearly reciprocated. Upon breaking the kiss, I faced away for, him and covered my face in embarrassment.
“Huh? Is that the great and fabulous name being shy at a simple kiss? You’re so weak!” He laughed as he rubbed his face against my neck, similar to how an animal would treat its mate. I chuckled. Two could play at that game. I faced him again.
“Is the great, dumb wolf Hyunjin in love with me?” I smirked as I saw the slight blush bubble up on his cheeks.
“Well maybe I am!” He chided. I smiled
“Well maybe I love you too.”
AN: This was from Halloween buuuttt imma post it now cuz y not 😗. Also I watched the Skz concert this weekend and it was AMAZING. I am currently still in post concert depression buttt maybe I’ll have some motivation to write again soon! Peace out ✌🏼

I’m so fucking angry.
Texas. What the fuck are you doing!
I never dare enter abortion territory because it’s a touchy topic and I wanted to stayed neutral, but today something broke. I gone FERAL NOW!
It’s numbly stupid of the Supreme Court to deny abortions in Texas, anti abortion groups should not make literal FUCKING bounties on anyone who helped those in need of LITERAL BASIC HUMAN HEALTH CARE IF THE MOTHER DOESN’T WANT HER BABY FROM ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
LIKE FUCK YOU AND YOUR TRIGGER BILLS! NOBODY GIVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT Y’ALL PROLIFERS! HOW DARE YOU BANNED CLINICS PERFORMING SOMETHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY SAVED A LIFE IF THE WOMAN OR THE UNBORN CHILD HAD HEALTH ISSUES, YOU DON’T KNOW THE MOTHER AND HERE YOU ARE SCRUTINIZING ANYONE ALL BECAUSE Y’ALL CARE ABOUT A CLUMP OF CELLS CALLED A FETUS!
Y’ALL ARE DISGUSTING FOR SENDING YOUR MEN TO HARASS DOCTORS WHO WORKED IN THOSE CLINICS AS THEY SCREAMED PROFANITIES AT THOSE HELPED WITH ABORTION! FUCK THOSE FOUR OR FIVE CONSERVATIVE ASSHOLES ON THE CHAIRS WHO SUPPORTED THE DENIALS AND PULLING THE TRIGGER BILLS OUT OF THEIR CONSERVATIVE ASSES! I HATE YOU AS MY STATE’S REPRESENTATIVES, YOU DON’T BRING JUSTICE TO TEXAS, BUT MADE A MOCKERY OF IT!
Now as a Texan and a young woman, I deeply apologize for my state’s stupidity for something that made a mockery of the Roe v Wade case, something as a basic human rights. However, there are those who surprisingly sits on political power to dictate that very human rights.
I won’t apologize to Texas however, I thought my state was smarter than this, but I guess I was wrong about it.
I’m disappointed, Texas, and you can go fuck yourself in hell.
Pro-lifers/anti abortion movements, do me a solid and drown yourselves in the salty Gulf of Mexico and never come back, or educate yourself about human rights. Clearly it looked like you didn’t pay attention in class during middle/high school, so fuck yourselves in hell too.
My heart and condolences goes to the patients/ doctors/staff/ and Uber drivers who had to put up with this ordeal, there is no excuse for this atrocious response to deny your health care and dignities. I am equally upset as you even we don’t know each other, but I am person will feelings and I felt your pain.
I’m not pregnant, I don’t know what is going on with the mind of one, but knowing your appointment is cancelled due to the stupidity of the Supreme Court (who should put more pressure on Texas).
I’m sorry for my mutuals who had to read this, I needed to blow off steam, but this must be said about the bullshit of my state and I’m not afraid to slander this hellhole.
If anyone anti abortionist dare come and telling me that I’m overreacting and ‘consider the baby as a valve of human life-’ quit that bullshit already! You’re nothing but a walking waste of air, space, and time. I may be aggressive and harsh, but you deny a basic health care and shaming on someone who was assaulted and told them to raise a child they didn’t ask for. You are not entitled to the mother’s choice and body, you are not her!
I had enough of this, Texas! Grow up and reconsider your actions or let the human rights movements challenge you! I’ll let the movements have their way.
I’m done with this nonsense.

⋆  „What’s a little bird like you doing here alone?“
─────────────────────
„Good morning!“ Woo Young enters the dining area with a huge grin on his face and Seong Hwa chuckles at the little strands of hair that are standing up from his head.
Soon the others join the clan on the table and start to dig into the delicious breakfast. „Wait, is (y/n) not up yet?“ Seong Hwa eyes the round and his gaze stops at Yun Ho and Min Gi who are trying everything to avoid their hyung‘s look.
Hong Joong quirks an eyebrow and sips on his tea. „Guys, did you do something to her?“ That’s what makes Yeo Sang‘s eyes turn into a crimson color eyeing the two demons, too.
„Woah, I mean, calm down... She’s upstairs still sleeping. Yun Ho and me wanted to wake her up but she was still so sleepy.“
The others only nod silently at his answer. Usually you’re always the first when it comes to eating but there could be many reasons why you are not joining them.
San munches on his toast while listing them off in his head one by one.
First, you could be really sleepy because you and the others watched movies until three am this morning and now it’s 8.46 am.
Second, you were embarrassed because you fell asleep on the couch although you swore you wouldn’t sleep at theirs for the beginning.
Which also leads to the third reason, you realized that you woke up in Yun Ho‘s bed sandwiched between him and Min Gi and now are even more embarrassed.
And Fourth, you just pretend to sleep and wait for him and Woo Young to come upstairs and give you the best fuc -
„San? Are you even listening?“
„Yeeeees, sorry.“
„Ah, really? Then repeat what I said.“ Hong Joong watches him while the brown haired boy smirks mischievously. The leader sighs and puts down his napkin.
„I said for the next time we have to watch out for (y/n) but without her noticing. We all know she would freak out if she knew but it’s for her best. I guess she’s still not understanding that many demons are after a marked female...“
„What? Are you talking about me?“ All their heads turn around to see you standing in the doorway wearing a shirt from Yun Ho which comes off as definitely oversized and they all think you look too cute like this.
„Are you awake now, cupcake?“
You frown at Woo Young.
„What did I say about the nicknames? I am still tired but I guess my appetite awakened me.“
After eating breakfast with the demons you got a shower and quickly went back home but not without going through a lot of protests from the boys. Honestly, you were very embarrassed about falling asleep at their house although you made it clear you wanted to take things slow but - you were just so tired. Even now sitting at your desk in your dorm room you couldn’t concentrate at all.
In a few hours you had go to your part time job and you felt like falling asleep in any second. You groaned out and let you head fall onto the surface of the table closing your eyes. Great. Now a headache was coming around, too.
This night you fell into your bed very exhausted. You didn’t make any progress in studying this afternoon and also your boss had been very shitty to you at your shift today. All you wanted was to sleep...
Much to your dismay you only felt worse this morning but got up nevertheless to go to your courses. A pain killer could maybe help a little bit and so you swallowed the pill and grabbed your bag. You already were late so you passed the campus with quick steps and nearly collapsed into the chair for your first lecture.
It only worsened throughout the day. You were on your way back to the dorm and felt really hot. Your limbs hurt and the headache came back. Black dots formed in front of your vision and you quickly found a bench to rest.
Suddenly you saw Jong Ho emerging you with a stern expression on his face. „(y/n)?“
He placed his hand on your forehead and frowned.
„What are you doing here?“ You felt the urge to close your eyes out of exhaustion. You were convinced that something was not right with you by now but you never felt like this before.
Your eyes flattered open and you noticed the change of your surroundings. You were placed neatly into Hong Joong‘s bed. The curtains were closed creating a comfortable brightness in the room. The air conditioning system was turned on and you felt a wet cloth on your forehead.
You felt a lot better and noticing no one was around you turned your head a little bit to the cushion you layed on and smelled the wonderful scent of the demon.
How can someone smell this good?
You giggled at your own awkwardness and quickly arranged yourself when the door carefully opened.
Inside Yeo Sang, Hong Joong and Seong Hwa came. You made eye-contact with everyone of them and stopped at the youngest of the three.
Shit, hopefully he doesn’t read my thoughts about Hong Joong‘s wonderful scent. Heck, (y/n)! Stop thinking... He doesn’t look away! Start singing... Bulleo bulleo mhhmhmhm
You continued humming to the song in your head totally unaware of how the three sat down on the bed and Yeo Sang looking out of the window with a knowing smirk on his face.
„Can you not stop that?“
„I am sorry (y/n). I didn’t chose this ability.“
„What even is going on here?“ Hong Joong and Seong Hwa look between you and Yeo Sang but when no one answers them Seong Hwa clears his throat to gain everyone‘s attention.
„At least you are not ranting about being again in one of our beds - “
„Now that you’re mentioning it how - ah, wait... Jong Ho brought me here, right?“
„Yes. You had a high fever and blacked out so we thought it would be the best to bring you to our place and give you some medicine. How are you feeling now?“
„Better... I just don’t know how I became ill it’s definitely not the season for it.“
„(y/n) maybe you had contact to someone - “
When Yeo Sang tried to touch your forearm you suddenly felt a harsh pain at your wrist just like the last time that crazy guy appeared.
„Ahhh ... fuck! h- hurts..“
„(y/n)!“ Hong Joong and the other two demons try to look from where the pain comes and the leader‘s eyes change into a crimson when he realizes it’s your mark.
Soon the others are in the room trying to figure out what’s wrong because they feel the distress of their clan brothers.
Your forehead is sweaty and Yeo Sang also has to take a step back from the bed clutching at his head out of pain.
„What the hell is happening here?!“ Woo Young shouts and Yun Ho comes to lay a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
Luckily the pain soon vanishes leaving you blacked out again and the fever higher than before.
Downstairs the boys except of Yeo Sang who still sits by your side settled together and debate on what was happening with you.
„I first thought it could be a normal flu or something but now that her wrist burnt where our mark is I think it’s has to do with us and the bond.“ Seong Hwa says.
„Mh, also me and Yeo Sang felt it, too.“
„Here, I got the book.“ Yun Ho enters the living room area with quick steps and places it on the table.
„Okay, I think I found something...“ This caught the interest of the other demons who where scattered around the place by now and building a circle around the book and Seong Hwa very fast.
„Seems like her body and soul starts fighting our mark...“
„What the fuck?! How and why?!“
„Jong Ho, calm down.“ San embraces his brother form behind to calm him down while Hong Joong might start to realize what is really happening here.
„Listen! It also says that it can be due to the human itself or if another demon tries to claim him or her.“
„I think the first option is bullshit because we talked about this so who’s the motherfucker trying to take away my kitten from me?!“
„San, first - it’s not only your kitten and secondly - the nickname‘s stupid. Let’s agree on babygirl.“
Seong Hwa proudly smirks at his idea and San coughs at that.
„*cough* pervert *cough*“
„Guys, can we please focus on (y/n) and not such unnecessarily things?“
„Jong Ho is right. It’s cupcake anyways.“ Woo Young high-fives with Min Gi and grins.
Hong Joong only facepalms and groans.
„Stop. We have to figure out who’s behind this until then we continue watching her and talk about every little change we notice. Alright, guys?“ Everyone nods at him and looks up when Yeo Sang comes down the stairs shock evident on his face.
„How is she?“
„Sleeping. It’s angel you idiots!“
The next days your condition got better and the demons were relieved to see you quite energized and healthy again. You were thankful they took such good care of you but it was time to get back to your lectures and work everything up.
yunhoe: wanna grab a coffee after your last lecture? (´。• ω •。`)
you: yeh I pay
yunhoe: why? let your bestfriend treat you
you: you want sth in return
yunhoe: would never ( `ε´ )
you: you’re turning into a woo young version 2.0 these last weeks
yunhoe: :‘( the betrayal
You smile at your display and link your arms with your female bestfriend Hyo Lyn when she emerges you with a big grin while walking to the other campus.
„Oh, who’s the poor guy.“
„You’re mean (y/l/n) (y/n). He’s a very lucky boy and his name is Seok Woo.“
You stop in your tracks and eye her suspiciously. „If I hear a page being turned in the next seconds I am outta here.“
„Gosh, stop watching those dramas.“
„That only proves you watched it, too!“
„Of course. Now I can have my own Ha Ru.“ You laughed out loud gaining a few questionable looks from other students at how Hyo Lyn emphasizes the name.
Inside the lecture hall you sit down next to each other still gossiping a little bit and cringe when she tells you that last weekend at a fraternity party Choi San and Jung Woo Young were seen having a threesome with one of the prettiest girls of the campus.
Such dickheads. While you’re ill they go out having their fun and then still lie about having feelings for you!
„You’re alright?“
„Of course I am why wouldn’t I!“ Hyo Lyn shrieks back at your outburst which again draws the interest of many people in the hall to you.
„Haha, I mean, they’re both really hot and you’re at theirs so often! Do you think Yun Ho would have something against it? Or are you still playing hide and seek with Kang and Kim?“
You could’ve banged your head onto the table but stopped yourself before.
„Can we just forget I ever told you about this?“
„Ehm, no. Look, gaining the interest of the Kim Hong Joong and Kang Yeo Sang is a dream coming to life! Maybe you could ask them for a threesome?“
„Fuck, Hyo Lyn! Stop this nonsense.“ Your cheeks were painted so red you had to cool them down with your palms leaving your bestfriend a laughing mess next to you.
After the lecture ended you checked the bus line and saw that there was a technical issue which let to a high delay for the next one. To be punctual for Yun Ho you had to run across the campus and catch the next one which would take a lot more time than usually.
While running you accidentally have your eyes only a second on your phone checking the time and of course bang into someone who luckily caught you pretty effortlessly.
„Shit, I apologize a lot! I am in a hurry and - “
„Well, hello my love.“ You really couldn’t believe your eyes. In front of you the perverted demon stands eyeing you with an amused look.
„You!“
He laughs still holding you in his arms.
„Me!“
„Stop!“ You try to wiggle out of his grip and much to your suspicion he lets you out of his arms carefully.
You look around if someone’s watching you and when sure there are not much students left you turn again to him and whisper-yell. „What are you doing here?! Don‘t say you want to kidnap me again...“ You fold your arms in front of you but slightly panick when he leans down too much in your comfort zone.
„I am studying here now and my lecture just ended.“ You scoff and push him back by his chest.
„What bullshit! Aren’t you too old to study?“
„Wait, how old do you think I am?“
„As a pervert you’re probably fourty or something...“
„H - how dare you! I am 26 years old!“ You give him a bored stare and mention for him to hold it.
„However. I am going and keep out of my way or - “
„Ah, this is will be hard. Because we have the same subject.“ A shiteating grin takes its place onto Joo Hyuk‘s face and you just couldn’t believe this guy.
You try to push your way around him when he stops you by your wrist again and takes you into an embrace from behind. His hold on your wrist leaves a undefinable pain and you hiss out when he finally leaves it. Trying to break free he only holds you closer and you can feel him leaning into your neck. You shudder when you feel him taking in your scent.
„Are you afraid my love? You don’t have to be... I would never hurt you.“ Much to your dismay your body betrays you and you feel your legs giving out at his words which pleases him.
You would lie when you told yourself that this wasn’t exciting but you didn’t understand your feeling at all.
Suddenly he lets you go and chuckles lightly. „Guess we will see eachother more from now on, (y/n)“ And with that you turn around but he’s nowhere to be seen anymore...
Stupid demons.
„Shit, the bus!“
Yun Ho texted you he would drive to the campus with his car because it was getting way too late and today it was his task to watch over you. At least he would bring you home safely and maybe drink a tea at your dorm.
The dorm was only a fifteen minute walk from your position but heh.
You smile when you see him pulling in at the parking spot. How he hops out of the expensive vehicle makes your heart jump but you try to cover it quickly knowing he would sense it.
As he nears your form a frown comes across his face and the next thing you know is him holding your shoulders in a very tight grip. You shudder at seeing your bestfriend like this the first time in your life and gulp when his orbs transform into a deep red color.
Yun Ho drags you to the car and drives to the demon‘s mansion faster than you liked. He pushes you inside the livingroom where Yeo Sang and Min Gi were currently playing Fortnite and some of the others around cheering.
„Hey, what’s our beautiful cupc - “
„Hold him back!“ No one noticed Seong Hwa coming from the kitchen with a gaze full of hate and disgust at your form. Before he could lunge at you Hong Joong and Jong Ho use all of their strength to hold him back. They drag him outside into the garden but the next demon also seems to lose his mind by letting out a deep growl like sound and Woo Young covers San‘s eyes and pushes him out of the room, too.
„What’s with them?“ You find yourself in Yeo Sang‘s arm in a second who seems to try to protect you from the other demons. Tears prick at your eyes and Yeo Sang tries to shush you by caressing your back in comforting circles.
You sit down on the couch after Hong Joong calls Min Gi to get out, too. Leaving only you, Yun Ho and Yeo Sang.
Yun Ho didn’t stop walking in circles since you arrived and you just wonder what was going on. You don’t even recognize Yeo Sang rubbing himself on you by smashing your cheeks together and kissing your hair repeatedly...
After a while you still sniffle when the others come back in and you take a look at the two demons that had the outburst. Whereas San seems only pissed Seong Hwa avoids your look at all costs which hurts you a little bit.
„Is this disgusting scent finally off of her?“ Seong Hwa speaks up while looking out of the window.
Now this was what it was all about... but it wasn’t you fault, right?
Without realizing you roll with your eyes earning another growl but this time from Yun Ho. „Do you think this is a joke?“
You scoff at him. „Of course not but you’re not telling me shit!“
„(y/n), we’re just concerned... Yun Ho brought you here because...“
„It’s okay, angel. You can tell them.“ Of course Yeo Sang already knew what happened because the moment started to flash into your mind occasionally since you’ve arrived here.
You told them about your encounter with Joo Hyuk leaving some of them clearly pissed. After a long pause you and Yeo Sang are again alone in the living room and the others come back after discussing and deciding for you to get out of the demon‘s way as good as possible for now.
Of course you agreed with them but if he was really attending the same courses like you things would get problematic. The tense atmosphere also doesn’t sit right with you. Everyone was giving off the vibe that you have been running into him on purpose.
When in reality they just don’t know about Joo Hyuk‘s intentions and that’s what worries Hong Joong the most. He definitely is the reason for your illness but the question is if he would be so dumb to try again to steal you away. His clan is definitely stronger and larger in number so why you? Why again anger the Ateez Clan?
One thing was sure - they had to keep a good eye on that bastard and need you to work with them although you don’t know about him being the reason for your illness and potential threat to claim you as his.
You on the other side were deeply confused and annoyed. Gladly Jong Ho drove you back to your dorm after your discussion but he also didn’t talk to you at all during the ride seemingly deep in thoughts.
Their reactions confused you... first you’ve never seen Yun Ho like this before. Of course this wasn’t the first time he got angry but definitely the first one his anger felt directed to you, too.
You knew San was an emotional person but you couldn’t shake off the feeling he didn’t had himself under control at all yesterday.
And Seong Hwa... the usually calm and soft demon is who hurt you the most. His gaze told you how disgusted he was by you... you felt like it wasn’t only about your scent but you in general at this moment. Like you’ve done something that betrayed him and his brothers.
The night wasn’t pleasant as sleep seemed to come to you hardly and the next evening at your shift you also couldn’t stop thinking about the events. You felt restless because images of the moment with Joo Hyuk coming back to you again and again. You mentally groaned everytime that happened because instead of fear and anger you felt slight excitement. You knew it was wrong to think and feel like that but you couldn’t stop yourself...
„(y/l/n)! The three gentlemen in the left corner are waiting!“
„Oh, sorry, boss!“
You arrive at the table and get on your knees with a bow arranging the menus.
„(y/n), what a pleasure to meet you again.“ You quickly look up and your mouth opens like you want to say something but nothing comes out.
So much for keeping out of his way... Was he following you now?
„You know eachother?“ One of the guys sitting next to the demon eyes you with a flirting gaze to which you give him a ‚fuck off‘ - gaze.
„Yes, this is the special girl I‘ve told you about.“
Eh?
„Special girl?“ It definitely comes out louder than you wanted it to and you check if your boss noticed but are relieved when it doesn’t seem like it.
„Of course. Your indeed very precious (y/l/n) (y/n).“
What shocks you even more is to not find the usual annoying smirk on his face when he says this. Special? Precious? What is he talking about?
You wanted to say something but being unsure of what you just handed them the menus, bowed again and quickly went back to the bar.
„She smells fascinating...“
„Yah, Ji Soo! Don’t even think about it.“
„Why? You’re also hanging out with that human chick. What was her name again?“
„That’s not what I mean. He already has his eyes on her so you don’t have the right to touch her.“
„Stop talking she’s coming back.“
Your brows furrow at their whispering but you brush it off nevertheless. First you cannot stop thinking about him and then he appears again.
What if he really just wanted to study at your university? The last time he could’ve easily kidnapped you again but he didn’t.
Maybe he was just a little bit attracted to you? You cannot shake off the feeling that the others might have overreacted...
Also, what if you had his scent on you? He just hugged you and you didn’t even stand a chance to get out of the grip of a demon. Moreover it wasn’t in your interest at all whereas Woo Young and San couldn’t keep their dicks inside their trousers - which still left a light stinging sensation in your heart.
Of course you knew how they were and that they liked to play around. The question is, why wouldn’t you just be one of the many other girls, too?
You still cannot believe that out of eight demons everyone would have the same amount of feelings for you. To be honest, the only person you thought of really liking you was Kang Yeo Sang. Thinking about Hong Joong - no one really knew what he did or thought in a day.
Maybe you slowly realize that you might fall for them too easily? Since they kidnapped you that day no one really tried to make the next step. Even Yeo Sang and Hong Joong wouldn’t go further than touching you in appropriate places. Well, at least the younger one did. And it all was still friendship like.
These thoughts are giving you a headache. Well, you were the one telling them you only wanted to be friends first then why are you so emotionally confused?
Do you crave for more? Or is it just attention?
Before the three men left the place Joo Hyuk gave you a huge tip which you didn’t stand a chance to reject. Luckily nothing more happened with him to which you were more than thankful. You couldn’t stand so much trouble in short terms.
Arriving at your dorm exhausted you jump on your bed after receiving a text from Hyo Lyn that she was coming over and getting ready for a party. Why would you say no? There were no messages from the guys and you definitely wouldn’t waste this night and free sunday tomorrow.
Yes, this was definitely the best you could do to forget all this mess for now. Only you, your bestfriend and a bottle of wine.
Oh, and loud music, sweating bodies and students making out in every corner. For this night you decided to wear something fancy but sexy, too. The mistake you made? You already drank quite the amount of appetizers with Hyo Lyn while dressing up and you could already feel the coral lipstick smeared from the amount of times you lick them.
You were wasted. Definitely; but in a good way. Hyo Lyn only giggled and dragged you to the dancefoor - the living room of the mansion - and started swaying your hips to the music. By now it was actually unimportant how you looked like you just had fun with the girl next to you and giggled a lot at her stupid dance moves imitating them from time to time.
When you made you way back to the kitchen looking for another drink you couldn’t shake off the feeling being watched. You shuddered at the thought and looked around a few times but couldn’t make out anything suspicious.
Only when you heard the yelling you immediately felt your insides curling. „Quick! Woo Young is winning!“
If Woo Young was here then San would be, too. Meaning there was a high chance some of the others or all of them attended this party, too. Where we’re back to the point - they’re not texting you and acting like wanting to protect you but here we are?
Suddenly Hyo Lyn brings you out of your thoughts by finding you in the kitchen and dragging you outside with a grip on your wrist.
„Come one, we have to watch this!“
Out of a good perspective standing outside a huge group of people in front you can see Woo Young drinking up all the beer and San next to him cheering him on like the others.
You roll with your eyes a smirk building up but it quickly vanishs when you see the cute dark haired beauty pulling him into a kiss and Woo Young first shocked but putting his arms around her waist in return when he wins.
First you really didn’t want to believe Hyo Lyn - but it was obvious that this scene probably replayed every weekend and party they attended.
What about the others? What about the Song Min Gi? What about the prestigious bachelor Kim Hong Jong? What about... what did all of them do?
You went back into the house ignoring the urge to turn into a crying mess feeling like it would be useless. You sat down in front of the mansion outside at the sidewalk alone with your thoughts again. Did you really didn’t know them at all?
No, you knew them. You knew about their hobbies... what they liked to eat and what their dreams were. It was just the fact that you didn’t feel like trusting them and not in the friend like relationship.
The image of them as boyfriends, potential lovers or what you would call it. You’re far away from that and you weren’t a person that tried to seek for the problem in others. It was about you. Maybe your first rejection lead to them losing interest in you. The whole marked thing slowly felt like they just still tried to fulfill something because they gave it to you and maybe they wanted to wait before asking you to take it back...
You definitely were a person to overthink things.
„What’s a little bird like you doing here alone?“
You slowly look up to see who has the nerve to interrupt you at your conspiracy moment.
„Oh, I am sorry... Didn’t want to sound awkward I guess you just looked really cute like t - this...“ You couldn’t stop gaping at the handsome boy. He had black hair with beautiful dark eyes that seemed to shine in the light of the moon and he was just plainly beautiful - exactly pretty like Hong Joong but different.
Hong Joong...
Tears started to prick again at your eyes making the boy worry if he is the cause for your sadness.
„Shit, I am sorry! I didn’t want to upset you!“ He leans down and starts to wipe away your tears with his soft thumbs and you feel oddly comforted by it - probably mainly caused by your drunken state.
„It - it’s not you...“
„Mh.“ He nods in an understanding matter and shoots you one of the most beautiful smiles you’ve ever seen. He sits down next to you still having his arm around your shoulders letting you calm down.
After a while you decide to check your phone to see if someone texted you but you can only see Hyo Lyn informing you about having met Seok Woo and his two very attractive friends and that they were playing beer pong.
„Do you want to get back inside?“
You shrug really unsure and definitely not in the mood to accidentally run into one of the boys. Okay, maybe just get over you high ego and text them!
You searched for San in your contacts and texted him that you also attended the party and if he wanted to hang out in the garden or something.
choi san: I am busyyyy
Wow, what a great answer. You groaned out gaining back the attention of the stranger next to you. „To be honest, I just want to go home and eat as much fast food as I can.“
You flinch a little bit when he suddenly starts laughing at you heartly. „To be honest, I didn’t want to come here in the first place.“ He takes a look back and his nose wrinkles is the most adorable way you could imagine.
„Then why did you come?“
„Three friends of mine wanted me to and I am the driver but now one of them found their girl he’s hanging out with at the moment an the other one‘s still searching for the girl he wanted to meet here.“ You laughed at this because it was cliche.
„What’s with the third one?“
„He just likes to party.“ You both laugh again mostly because you are still tipsy and him finding your laugh contagious.
„Do you want to head out of here? I know we don’t know eachother but I am hungry, too, so we could stop by a diner and after that I am bringing you home?“
„Mh, don’t know. I really don’t know you and my friend is still here... but I could tell Hyo Lyn quickly so she can send the cops after me if you try something funny.“ He grins at you mischievously but without any bad intention.
„Wait, did you say Hyo Lyn?“
„Ey, we looked for you!“ Suddenly you see four figures approaching you causing you and the boy next to you standing up.
Really? That there wasn’t already a massacre at this party fascinates you when you see Joo Hyuk emerging your forms with confident steps his eyes flickering between you and the boy. What shocks you even more is seeing your bestfriend holding hands with a guy next to her that seems to be on of Joo Hyuk‘s fiends and also the trio are the exact same men from your shift.
Leaving you confused who was the boy next to you but seeing his eyes turn into crescents while smiling at his fiends you suddenly feel at ease.
Only Mr. Pervert ruins the mood by winking at you.
„Come one that’s really funny!“ Hyo Lyn giggles at the situation and you cannot hide your smile, too.
„What are you doing here outside? (y/n) I’ve looked for you everywhere!“ Joo Hyuk happily explains and you stiffen a little bit by his statement. Their friend next to you seems to notice and lightly lays his hand on your shoulder to provide you with a feeling of safety.
Poor boy... don’t know he’s messing with a demon and wouldn’t stand a chance against the pervert.
„(y/n) and me wanted to drive to the diner and eat something. Do you want to come along?“
You could swear something flickered in the boys‘ eyes‘ at this moment but you couldn’t lay a finger on what. „No, no. It’s okay. (y/n) seems to be tired and we still want to start this pool party. Am I not right?“ Joo Hyuk laughs at the others and they also happily agree.
Your gaze goes back to him and he smiles and nods at them. „Have fun guys and call me if I should pick you up.“
He guides you to his car which was an expensive Audi R8 and immediately the thoughts comes to your mind if he drives too fast.
Like sensing your doubts the boy comes around the car again and opens the door for you. „You don’t have to worry... I will drive slowly I know you still have alcohol in your system.“
Is he cute or isn’t he?
The night turns around very good in the end. He holds his words and you don’t have to vomit or something. After eating something delicious at the diner with him you feel a lot better now and didn’t even felt the urge to look at your display since the party. Talking comes easily with him and he’s also a very charming guy with a good amount of humor.
After he stops in front of your dorms he gets out again and opens the door for you. He holds out his hand for you to take it and when you take it confidently you feel a slight shock.
„Ouch!“ He looks shocked but also apologizes quickly.
„Oh, haha. I am sorry... Maybe that was a sign?“ He smirks with crescent eyes again and you could cry out at how cute he is.
„Who knows?“ You look him deeply in the eyes and you can feel his smile vanish slowly. You gulp and quickly realize what you’re doing.
Stop flirting (y/n)! Cheater!
You mentally roll with your eyes - which you do... quit a lot?
I am the cheater? What’s with them? They give a shit about me at the moment! I can play this game, too!
Without noticing it you slowly nod with your head gaze turned to the ground and a devilish grin on your face.
„Ehm, I just asked if I could have your number...“
Oh, yeah. He was still there.
„Of course!“
(y/n) no!
You gave him your number and let yourself fall onto your bed a huge grin not leaving your face. You don’t have to feel bad, right? You texted San if he wanted to hang out but you could only imagine what he did in that moment. Woo Young was obviously also busy and you didn’t know who of the others attended the party.
You could’ve texted into the group chat you idiot.
Yes, you could’ve but you didn’t want to.
Suddenly you felt the guilt coming back... now that the boy left your mind it seems like you have to think about them. You take a look at your wrist and recall the electrical shock with the boy.
You don’t know his name... That’s what you only realize now. Well, if he decided to text you could ask him.
Eying you wrist again you try to see something that could resemble a mark; the one they gave you. Tonight you don’t really understand why they did it in the first place. You feel anger bubbling inside of you but decide it is worthless to worry about things you cannot change right now.
To get a decent sleep you think back to the crescent eyes and shining orbs that lulled you in. You find sleep better this night and all thanks to the stranger...
You wake up with a blurry sight. Your limbs are burning and a headache forms. You also feel very hot - shit, again?
Maybe you didn’t rest well enough the last time... you roommate asks you if she can help you with something before she head out for the day and you decline thankfully.
It would be the best to make some tea and sleep the day off maybe tomorrow it would be better and you could go back to university. Throughout the day you occasionally checked your messages and pouted when you received nothing. You don’t know if you hoped for him to text you or the others. Let’s say it didn’t shock you anymore that you received no text from the demons.
You also didn’t want to tell them about being sick again you hate the feeling of being a burden to someone... so you spent the day sleeping, groaning, drinking tea and watching shows.
Great sunday...
Luckily you had a good sleep this night but in the morning you didn’t feel any better... To this point you couldn’t shake off the feeling that the centrum of the stress might could be your wrist; exactly where your mark was located.
Maybe it is because of not being near to the demons lately? This doesn’t really makes sense either. There already have been more moments where you didn’t have much time for them and didn’t got sick...
You clearly are not able to go to your courses today and ask Hyo Lyn to excuse you if someone in your shared courses asks.
Of course the girl wants to come over but you decline not wanting to spread your bacteria. You also ask your roommate to not worry but comply when she tells you she wants buy some medicine for you.
Ah, you were feeling really exhausted and bad again...
You wish someone of the boys would come over and take you into their arms and take care of you but you quickly shake the thought off.
Your wrist hurts again at the thought of them. What the actual hell?
Inside the mansion only Hong Joong and Seong Hwa pace around doing the housework. Well, Seong Hwa tells Hong Joong what to do because the leader is a mess when it comes to cleaning.
Hong Joong feels not good today and he didn’t do yesterday, too. It’s only a light tugging but he cannot say what it could be.
„Everything‘s alright?“
„Yes, just a bad feeling I guess. I wonder how (y/n) is doing. Did she eat? Is she happy? Is some professor getting on her nerves?“
Seong Hwa chuckles. Yes, their chosen mate definitely was someone who got triggered easily by hunger and soppy teachers.
„San told me she attended the party on saturday.“
„Why didn’t he tell us sooner?“
Seong Hwa shrugs while ordering Min Gi‘s laundry. „He just texted me she was there and he took a quick look at her and everything was fine. Hyo Lyn was by her side.“
„Mh, sometimes I feel like she’s taking a lot of her time.“
„Are you jelous, Kim?“ Seong Hwa‘s orbs shine in amusement and Hong Joong frowns at him in return.
„Nooo‘ I just would like to spend more time with her but I guess we should really take it slow...“
„Yes, that’s what we agreed on. Although I would like to apologize for the last time...“
Hong Joong emerged Seong Hwa‘s taller form and leans his head against his arms. „She knows we love her, don’t worry.“
Do you?
The end of the day comes and you decide to not be a pussy and text Yun Ho what he was doing only to be left on read. That didn’t hurt at all, asshole. Was he still salty because of the Joo Hyuk scene?
At least Yeo Sang should understand but he was one of those guys who disappeared for quite a time without telling you and you have the feeling now was the time for it again.
Or should you write something in the group chat? The sun was about to set down while you layed weakly in your bed scrolling through your phone. You found a quite funny video and decided it would be a good way to start a conversation and postet it into the chat.
Woo Young texted back a laugh smiley and the others also wrote something funny but Yun Ho, Yeo Sang and Hong Joong didn’t respond at all...
You couldn’t deny that you missed them even if it wasn’t meant in a romantic way. You missed your friends.
Much to your dismay you had to spend your time in bed the whole week... Luckily you were slowly feeling better and quickly worked out the stuff you missed in the courses. You decided not to write again in the chat and it was funny it became easier to not reply to them either or later because you just forgot.
There was a reason for it because your attention was set on something else or better someone else... He texted you.
First he apologized for not messaging you sooner and today he admit to you that he was a little bit shy and unsure about how to start a conversation with you. Cute...
You texted without a break and you laughed out loud when you asked him for his name and he told you could call anything you like so you decided for ‚charming‘.
You couldn’t come up with anything cooler.
You didn’t tell him about you being ill not wanting to ruin the mood and at the end of the week you asked him if he wanted to hang out.
And you did. It was good and felt at ease with him. He cooked for at his apartment and after that watched a movie together.
„Oh god, who thought it would be a good idea to use such bad synchronisation?“ He laughed out loud and chimed in.
Your head slowly became heavier und you didn’t even recognize that you started to lean on him.
„You have such a nice apartment... I wish I could afford something like this.“
„It’s nothing. I just recently rent it.“ He smiles down on you.
„Wow. What do you even do for a living.“ I doesn’t go unnoticed that he becomes a little bit stiff at your question but you ignore it.
„Let‘s just say I have to do with management.“ You nod at him.
„How old are you?“
„I am 23 years old.“
„Oh, I hope I am done with my education at this age, too.“
„Of course. You’re a smart one, (y/n). I will help you anytime you just have to ask.“ He tilts his head a little bit and places a small kiss on your temple.
You hiss out and shriek back when you wrist starts to burn.
„Woah, is everything alright?“
„Yes, yes...“
His orbs turn a lot darker as he watches the tip of your fingers graze over your wrist. He licks his lips at the sight but immediately arranges himself when you look back at him.
Suddenly your phone rings up and you take it to look who calls you. „Hong Joong?“
„Who’s it?“
„Just a - a friend. Excuse me for a second.“ He nods at you and you go to the kitchen.
„Hello?“
„(y/n)? Where are you?“
„I am out.. Why though?“
„You’re not at your dorm and your roommate wasn’t there, too. I wanted to pick you up for a late movie night...“
„Oh, I am sorry. It’s so late already?“
„Where are you so I can pick you up? We’re missing you, (y/n)... also me and Yeo Sang felt something a few seconds ago.“
„Yeo Sang is back?“
„Yes, but, are you alright? I said we felt something like a sting.“
„Oh, no. Everything’s alright I don’t think I am in for it, tonight. Sorry...“
„Mh, okay. You would tell me when there’s something, right?“
You pause at his question. Lately you weren’t honest at all and now you feel like shit because they suddenly decide to connect you again. You sigh. Right now you’re with the charming boy and it would be rude to just leave.
„Of course I would.“ Lie
„Ok, then take care. I hope I am not annoying you.“
„You’re not! No, you’re not. I am happy you called me...“ You really were.
„Bye, (y/n).“
„Are you ok?“
„Ah, yes. My friend just worried for me.“
„Must be a good friend then.“ He lightly smiled at you and reached out his hand for you to take.
Just like Hong Joong never called you all thoughts to them vanish again when you take his hand and let him guide you back into the living room.
You make yourself comfortable in his embrace and you continue the movie. You are very aware on how his breath tickles the hair on your neck and you feel yourself heat up at the close approximation.
You try to hide your nervousness by ignoring him and playing like you don’t recognize his slow movements with his palm on your thigh.
„(y/n).“
You gulp and feel like your heart stops. His index finger lands under your chin and in the softest way he tilts your head so you’re facing him.
„Can I - I really want to kiss you... but I need your consent...“
You weakly nod at him already too engulfed in the moment. He flashes you a dazzling smile and you could swear you saw something flashing in his dark orbs at your answer.
Before you can think about it anymore his lips are pressed on your own trembling ones in a delicate way. You shudder at how aroused you feel and the sensation his touches leave on your form are overwhelming.
The hold on your thigh becomes tighter and with the other one his fingers start to caress your neck. He uses your moaning to explore your mouth with his tongue and it feels like you entered heaven.
When he starts to kiss down your chin and neck you quite overhear something he mumbles with a breathless voice.
„Mine...“
Too engulfed in the pleasure you’re receiving you don’t notice him taking your wrist carefully and kissing along your arm until he lands on the place where your mark is supposed to be.
You open your eyes when feel a tingling sensation there and suddenly hear voices in your head becoming louder and louder the more he sucks on there.
„What is happening?!“
„We have to find her!“
„Yeo Sang! Shit, help him up!“
„Stop!“
You lean back and he looks at you confused and concerned but it’s quickly replaced with a shy smile.
„What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?“ You frantically look around searching for something you don’t even know. Those voices...
„I - I have to go... I am sorry.“
„I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable but it’s okay, we achieved a lot for today.“
What is he talking about?
Only now you see your display blinking up repeatedly and the missed calls and texts from the demons.
You sense him watching you out of your eyesight and quickly put your cellphone back.
„I will bring you back home.“
You nod when he stands up leaving you clutching at your wrist with a bad feeling.
The car ride is silent and you decide to use his concentration on the road to text into the group chat that you’re heading back to the dorms.
When you open the door all the boys are already scattered around leaving your roommate sitting uncomfortable on her bed and a sign of relief crosses her features when you enter the room.
Immediately Min Gi grabs your hand and drags you out again followed by the others.
„What are you - ?!“
Min Gi puts you with him in the back seat petting you everywhere and kissing your hair with a frown on his face. Jong Ho starts the engine and drives home so fast you don’t even want to know the limit you’re reaching.
„(y/n)...“ He whimpers out and you turn your head to see his face that is illuminated by the lamps of the road.
A tear is rolling down his features and you swear you’ve never seen Min Gi crying before and he also didn’t touch you like this ever.
He hides his face in your neck and starts to cry. „Please don’t leave us...“
You felt awful. Never ever have you felt so ashamed and disgusted by yourself. You let another man touch you and especially the holy place of your mark and now you would have to face the consequences.
Your heart hurt at the sight of him clutching at you like his life depended on it. He held you in his big embrace like you would vanish any second.
„I would never leave you.“ Now a single tear also rolled down your cheek.
All of you sat silently. Until Yun Ho decided to speak up...
„What did you to with Joo Hyuk?“
Everyone tensed up at his name but you only frowned at his question.
„What do you mean?“
„You know what I mean. If you wouldn’t be my bestfriend I would consider thinking of you as a bitch, (y/l/n) (y/n)!“
Totally confused you stood up and let out your anger by landing a full smack on his cheek.
„I am not a bitch, Jeong Yun Ho! I won’t lie that I didn’t do anything but at least I am not fucking around every weekend like you guys!“
Now it was your time to let out everything that boiled up in you.
„You’re not giving me attention! You’re not answering my texts! You don’t care at all! You’re saying you have feelings for me but you’re not!“
„Don’t say this, dear - “ Jong Ho eyes you with a soft look and tries to reach out for you but you hold your hand up to stop him.
„No! You’ve been hurting me and guess what? I can play the game, too!“
Behind you Woo Young and San tense up.
„You know they mean nothing for us...“
„It doesn’t matter, Jung Woo Young. It hurts me so much... How can I ever trust you when all you do is - do is - nothing?“
Again everyone remains silent and also Yun Ho takes a step back to sit down next to Seong Hwa who rubs his eyes tiredly.
„We can get through this. I know we can... I feel like those are all misunderstandings...“
Yeo Sang always was a person that liked the harmony and it showed again.
You weren’t so sure of his words and bit your lips so harshly that you draw blood letting the tears out again.
„Please, (y/n), we love you. We love you so much. Please don’t give up on us...“
„San is right... we all have to better ourselves. We have to talk and be honest with eachother. Respect us more. Love isn’t easy but I can proudly say that I would do anything for you and us to work.“
You look into Seong Hwa‘s eyes and feel your bond coming to life at his words.
„Like we already said... a demon love is so rare and beautiful like you are (y/n); but - we would never force you to something you don’t want. We will always love you and we want you to be happy... even if it’s without us.“ Hong Joong says eyeing all his brothers who flinch at his words but not say something against it either.
„Angel, I beg you, please... don’t be afraid to show your feelings.“ Yeo Sang seems like to stare into your soul and you know that he knows what you want to do right now.
So you do it. You fall into his arms and sob into his chest. You let it all out and you can fell someone embracing your from behind, too.
You heart feels at ease and you couldn’t say that for a long time. Especially at Yeo Sang‘s and Hong Joong‘s touches you feel the bond coming to life igniting a wonderful sensation inside your systems.
This night you decide to sleep at theirs but of course not without all of you making a sleepover in one room. Fortunately you are the girl and were able to sleep on Yeo Sang‘s bed between him and the leader.
Totally forgetting about Charming and the events of the previous night.
Well, all of you were to exhausted to talk this out so it had to be done in the morning.
Oh, and the questioning turned out more interesting than everyone would’ve thought.
You decide to text him. It was a shitty move especially after last night but it had to be done. Much to your disbelief he only sent you back a smiley leaving you utterly confused.
After the breakfast you gathered around in the garden to finally tell you the truth and discuss on how to deal with Joo Hyuk.
San and Woo Young have been especially clingy to you also feeling very bad about having you hurt so much. Honestly, San craved a lot of your attention and body but he didn’t want to scare you so he decided to distract himself. He really didn’t know it would bother you so much and now he was devastated realizing the shit he done...
„I cannot breath, Woo Young...“
„Oh sorry.“ He smirks at your playfully and you peck him on his lips catching him off guard.
They were all so beautiful but not only in features but character, too... Why did you only realize it now?
Yeah, dumb bitch.
After telling you everything about Joo Hyuk that he wants to claim you and that being the reason for the pain at your mark and also you sickness you gulped.
„Now we have to find a way to deliver the message that he should leave you alone.“
„Or we just kill him.“
You sink further into San‘s side and he gives Jong Ho a silent glare knowing exactly how you would react to something like that.
„Guys, ehm, yesterday...“
Oh, it’s really time you’re telling them about it.
„Yesterday I wasn’t with Joo Hyuk. To be honest, I didn’t see him since a week or more...“
„What? (y/n), you had a scent on yourself from a demon yesterday. Whoever you spent time with was a demon!“
Panick takes its place over everyone’s features at your words and Hong Joong‘s eyes turn into an angry red color.
„I knew she smelled different! Now I know what that smell is...“
„Who is it? Hyung? (y/n)?“
„I - I don’t know his name...“
„You went home with a stranger, made out and don’t even know his name?!“ Seong Hwa‘s definitely in his mother role right now and you look to the ground ashamed.
„I don’t know... He felt so safe and my mind told me not to question it - “
„Typical for a demon like him. He manipulated you quite well.“ Hong Joong spits out with fire and starts to walk in circles.
„I guess you have his number?“
You nod at Yeo Sang.
„Text him to meet at the sightseeing platform at the mountain in the west.“
„What are you planning?“
„Seems like he was able to ignite a strong spark in her but not when she’s with us.“
„What are you talking about?“
Woo Young smiles in mischief at his brothers while petting your head. „Eight mates are stronger than one.“
„Don’t worry, cupcake. You will understand soon.“
You waited for Charming at the point and couldn’t believe yourself when you stupidly smiled at him. From the distance he already waved at you and if it wasn’t for the demons behind the trees you feel like you would’ve fall for him easily again.
„You look cute today. I am happy you texted me so quickly... to be honest I was a little bit afraid after yesterday that it was too early for you.“
You wonder how someone can lie so effortlessly and shudder when he wraps his fingers around your wrist where your mark is located.
He leans down when you’re not answering and gulp nervously when he tries to kiss you...
„The nerve...“
San comes out next to you joined by the others and you can see Charming starting to smile with his crescent eyes.
„I shouldn’t have let you go yesterday, little bird.“ He nearly whispered it out and you tremble when he places a soft skin on our forehead.
„Touch her again and we will kill you, Cha.“
He turns around and San and Woo Young are quick to take you into their arms and lead you further away from the scene. The demon follows your form and you are suddenly scared by his intimidating eyes.
„Ah, Hong Joong... I feel like I’ve lost myself in the whole thing a little bit too much.“
„You just didn’t succeed, Eun Woo.“
„Yes, this time you won. Your little human is not as dumb as I thought.“
Ouch that hurt although you just figured out what an ass he is. Woo Young‘s arms tighten around your form and the others tense up. Jong Ho cracks his knuckles to warn the demon to insult you any more.
„Why did you do that?“
„Clearly not for claiming her. I wanted to take the one love like you did with me...“
„Mi Na murdered humans and it was our task to bring her down. We would’ve not killed her if there would’ve been another way.“ Seong Hwa speaks up.
„She had problems! Okay?! You didn’t understand her! No one did!“
Tears are floating down when reality crushes in... Eun Woo wanted to kill you... and if it wasn’t for the boys you would not be alive right now. Joo Hyuk only was a marionette in this game and you only realized it now...
„We don’t want to hurt you, Eun Woo... Take your claim off her and leave us alone.“
„I said we don’t want to hurt you but we will.“
You sensed the distress of your mates and watched how everyone got into a fighting position leaving Woo Young and San next to you ready to get out of the scene if needed.
Eun Woo looks around him and starts to understand that he’s overpowered. He lets out a disgusting cry full of pain and anger.
„I will take it back...“
Hong Joong gives the demons next to you a sign and they near the other demon with slowl steps. He reaches out his hand and San takes your wrist carefully and guides it into his direction.
Eun Woo looks at you with tears in his eyes and sadly although you hate him right now you can feel his pain. He positions his lips over your wrist and breathes in leaving you lightheaded and suddenly blacking out... you feel free and suddenly the clouds in your mind and the headache you didn’t even noticed anymore are gone.
You open your eyes rubbing them with your palms feeling like you just awakened from a deep slumber.
„Good morning, sunshine.“
„Yun Ho...“
„Yes, the one and only.“ He shoots you a radiant smile and suddenly the door bursts open the other demons literally running inside.
„Cupcake! You’re awake!“
„How long did I sleep?“
„29 hours.“
„What happened?“
„Everyhing is okay right now. He’s gone... back to the demon world to be exact and he took his minions with him.“ Yun Ho tells you while caressing your hand.
You sit up and look into your lap. „Thank you, for everything and I am very sorry.“
„Stop, (y/n). We’re together now and you’re safe. That’s all what matters.“
You smile at them tears of joy running down your cheeks.
„Are you ok to go downstairs and eat something? Woo Young tried to cook - “
Said boy rolls with his eyes. „I didn’t try! I trained a lot!“ You giggle at his words and Yun Ho motions for you to sit up and take his hand so he can help you.
Halfway out of the room you stop...
„Guys...“ Everyone turns around watching you with curiosity.
„I think I might start falling in love with you.“ You quickly close your eyes out of embarrassment and San comes to take your palms that shield your face away with his own hands.
„It isn’t that hard, right?“
You become red like a potato and stomp with your food. „But it is!“ Everyone laughs at your cuteness but it would definitely be a hard way to express your feeling like this more...

Tom Hiddleston's lanky nature, long legs, long fingers, are some of the physical features that have drawn me.
Some stories to bring about why:
A moment in time- Albion, MI, where I lived before here. I'm tutoring in a GED program. One of the other tutors notices my hands. I have long fingers. The joints are a little angular, thanks to the hypermobility and the arthritis that has already started to damage them (I am in my early 20s at this time). He tells me he's never seen hands like mine. Fingers like mine. Lanky. I've never thought of them as pretty, though at one time I considered they might be elegant. I could do pretty things with rings, especially in tiers, some floating above my second knuckles.
But this person...he tells me of this syndrome he's read about, how these hands are irregular, different, something that's a sign of a hidden something worse. Something I should (or shouldn't look up). And it did two things. 1) It sent me down a reading rabbit hole that scared me for a while, before I realized this was an unrealistic fear. 2) It made me incredibly self-conscious about my hands and planted that seed of self-doubt that I no longer saw them as something neutral, or simply hands, but something odd, awkward, abnormal. That lasted for years. I've gotten more neutral about them over the years, especially as I start wondering when their function is just going to impede the things I love to do, including writing. They aren't just hands. They are a part of me this degenerative disorder may some day claim and that scares the living fuck out of me. They are something I need to use as much as I can now, strengthen, and enjoy what they can do for me, what I can do with them, regardless of how they look. I can take pride in the strength of these hands (when I have it), with the fact they can type, on a good day, upwards of 70 words in a minute (often with surprising accuracy). I can take pride in their aptitude with tools, with the way my long fingers can reach things others can't, or I can steady them to the point where, when they don't shake, can paint a beautiful line, courtesy of my training in scene painting. They can make, and they can make beautiful things. I'm making my own wedding dress, which, while not traditional by any stretch, is something that is still a feat I can take incredible pride in.
These hands have held children, built a life, and repaired things I've been told were irreparable or only worth the rubbish bin.
And yet, thanks to one person's fascination with them so many years ago (going on twelve at this point), the damage was done and I still look at them in some moments of self-doubt and insecurity and think they're ugly, they're "old person hands" (I turn 37 this year and aging so early is another insecurity of mine), they're spider-like, they're too "thin" (in that my tendons and veins are clearly visible under the skin's surface on the back of my hands) and my knuckles are a little too imperfect, made all the more visible by how slender they are. And that they swell in the humidity, that the arthritis makes me unable to some days wear my engagement ring and the little copper key ring that both are dear to me...these things make me resent them at times. There's something "wrong" with them (which I know is utter bullshit- they're just hands, they are a part of my body, and they will serve me well until they won't).
I've also dealt with a life-long insecurity about my long legs. Dancer legs (14 years of ballet, many of tumbing, many of tap, and a few of jazz). Legs with strength and grace, but also lanky legs. I'm all leg. Legs that won't quit. Unwanted attention from a cluster of frat boys while I was walking in a short dress with my mother on the campus of Michigan State University and was still in high school. I stopped wearing shorts. I stopped wearing skirts above my knees. Because my knees are too angular (like the rest of me), knobby, and damaged thanks to scars from a surgery in the attempt to save the right one from the arthritis that started with it and has crept into other areas of my body. Again, attention in a moment I definitely didn't want it cracked and broke the self-esteem that has, for some reason, always been fragile. For years, I've been sensitive about my legs, initially because of the scars, small and faded as they are. But the trauma that one knee left me with, that my arthritis continually brings back, continually reminds me exists, gifted me with deep insecurities about my knees, compounded with the dipshit comments of adult men to a teenage child.
I've never seen these things as valuable. At their best, they are body-neutral. At their lowest, they are things that bring shame, doubt, embarrassment, unwanted attention and gaping.
And so, when I am a young adult a decade ago, just turning 27, pregnant with my first child, my body a mess from the pregnancy (from swelling, the awfulness of weight gain is to arthritic knees, the looseness of my hips that shift in ways I know aren't normal, the intense lower back pain, and the nausea that never abates), I see Thor. And there on screen is a young man only a few years older than myself with lanky legs and long, elegant fingers. In that moment, I'm drawn to how theses features don't put me off in the way they do in myself. I seem something of a commonality with this rising star in a movie that is essentially space Shakespeare that stars one of my favourite heavyweight actors (Sir Anthony Hopkins) and is directed by an artist I have admired for years at that point. The entire movie stands out to me and thrills me, calling to me as theatre on the silver screen, the Shakespearean and classical acting evident and threaded throughout the entire thing.
And it is beautiful to me.
And so is this man with features I'd rejected in myself, one a decade (my legs) and one only for a few years (my hands).
It probably seems odd that this moment was a branching point in the way I've handled these insecurities, but it was. I still won't wear skirts that show my legs. I still refuse to wear shorts. But these things also come from the habit of not shaving my legs, not generally because I resent they are long and lanky, just like the rest of me. Every movie I've seen with Tom Hiddleston when I feel myself smile at this lovely human (physically) who also has a public persona that is witty and soft-spoken, a nerd about theatre, who likes to explain acting process, who digs into literature with excitement...there's a moment of realization that I'm finding someone on my "tea list" (I'm mostly asexual- it's not a snog/shag list, it's a "take tea with and fall into the joy of conversation" list) that has a body with a few features like mine. And while I'm primarily smiling because seeing those performances brings me deep happiness, there's a corner of my mind that is reminded I am OK as I am, I need to just accept this is the body I have, and I can embrace it as what it is and let it do for me what I need it to, taking pride in the capabilities I have in these moments and reminding myself I am always running from time in a countdown before this auto-immune disorder steals these things from me.
So...strangely enough, Tom Hiddleston is attractive to me because his existence as he is reminds me that my physical being is alright.
There is a part of me that would really like him to know this. I don't know why. But I think it would be nice for him to know that his existence on this planet hasn't just made people happy because of his skills, but that it has reassured one person that their body can be fine, maybe even beautiful or elegant (in time), just because he is.

Prompt: Peggy’s deaged and Tony finds out (: 🙏
Oh, poor Tony, being one of the last to know. Listen, OP I am SOFT for this and started tearing up. This is so pure and beautiful with them. Maybe not what you wanted and maybe 100% a ramble but their relationship is important to me.
--
“Why am I just being told?” Before Fury or even Coulson could be bothered to answer, Tony was speaking again. “Why am I just being told that Auntie Peggy is alive?! She’s been alive – deaged for how long now?”
“Three weeks,” murmured Coulson, only causing Tony’s eyes to snap to him. “We told her immediate family first, we-”
“I’m part of her immediate family.” The reply came in a sharp snap, cutting them off. “I’m part of her family as much as Steve and Sharon are and I get to learn last. No, not even last, I get to learn weeks after she’s released from the hospital and doing God-knows-what? From passing information?!”
“It wasn’t us who told Steve – Romanoff did. Then Hill told Sharon. If I had it my way, none of ya’ll know until we had more information on her condition. We didn’t know how she would survive.” Fury was at least trying to soothe the situation and it was not helping.
“-more information on her condition.’ You had enough if you let Romanoff slip between your fingers to tell Auntie’s soulmate that she was alive! You had enough to know she was going to be okay! And what more information did you need beyond seeing it was working? Because she’s alive!”
He didn’t want to hear it, Tony did not want to hear some bullshit, bureaucrat excuse that means nothing to him beyond utter betrayal. Not that he’s trusted Fury or Coulson to begin with, it was the point of the matter. His Auntie was alive and no one thought to inform him?
That cut deep, worst than they would ever consider.
On paper, no he wasn’t Peggy’s family. He was unfortunately Howard Stark’s son, but anyone with enough sense would connect two together, see the photos Auntie had in her retirement home, see the photos he had, the stories, and connect two and two.
Maybe Shield just didn’t have enough sense as he thought it did.
“Where is she? And so help me, Nick if you say it’s classified, I’ll…”
The threat trailed off when Fury’s eyebrow rose, folded hands raised to his chin level as if to challenge him to continue. When Tony didn’t, he leaned back and folded one leg over the other at the knee.
“We don’t know.”
“How the fuck do you not know where your walking human experiment went?” Tony snarled.
“Anthony Edward Stark – I am much more than a walking human experiment.”
The hard voice lecturing him made Tony’s hair stand on end and caused him to shiver. He suddenly felt like he was eight again and being scolded for eating sugar straight out of her jar. He could feel his cheeks warming as he turned around to see his Auntie standing in the doorway.
It took his breath away how healthy she looked. No wrinkles, no fading eyesight, not even a gray hair in sight. Her eyes were sharp as ever and right now trying to decide who she should be glaring at. She walked with a limb and he guessed that was her getting used to maneuvering again. Steve was somewhere in the waiting room, he knew. They weren’t far from each other, he guessed. It was sickening how they migrated towards one another like the sun and the moon.
“Director Carter,” Coulson breathed, standing up a smidge bit straighter and fixing his tie. “You shouldn’t be here.”
Tony wanted to snort – underneath the bash, white-collar bullshit that was Shield, Coulson was a fanboy at heart for his idols. He turned to look at his Auntie again because he knew her and she did not like to be told where she could and couldn’t be.
“If I remember correctly where we’re currently standing was once the storage room for our failed experiments,” Peggy mused, tapping the silver cane she was forced to use on the floor. It echoed through the entire room. “And I know I’m technically a 90-something year old here, but my memory is sharp as ever and I know for a fact that I am one of the reasons we’re all standing here. So, I think I have clearance over your agent-level coded bullshit, Agent Coulson. Now -“
Her eyes were set on Fury again, knuckles turning white on the cane. Tony found himself shifting closer, but not touching. He didn’t know if he wanted to touch. If he did, this illusion of his Auntie being young, healthy, and quick-witted as ever would shatter into pieces. “Auntie…”
“Not now, Anthony,” she didn’t even look at him. “Director Fury, what is this business on not letting my godson know that I was alive instead of 6 feet under? I think if I remember correctly my paperwork reflected that Anthony was just as much as my family as Sharon was. Steve isn’t family – not yet at least and he was told.” When Fury’s mouth opened to defend himself, Peggy’s head shook her curls. “Forget it, whatever excuse that will come out of your mouth will never do the fact justice that you neglected to tell my godson. For Christ's sake, I’ve changed his diapers. I think he’s family.”
“Auntie!” Tony looked mortified and he could see Coulson’s ever so slight smirk. Oh, he was not letting that go. His ears turned a bright shade of red. “I think they knew that you didn’t have to say it.”
“Anthony, never assume what these agents do or do not know. Shield isn’t what it used to be.” Peggy silently held her arm out to him, leading Tony out the exit and the doors to the Director’s office closing behind them at once.
As expected, Steve graduated towards Peggy, hovering just inches behind her. His hand slipped into hers and he looked down at Tony with a sheepish smile and shrug of his shoulders.
“I hate not knowing,” Tony sighed, rubbing at his temples. “You were in the hospital here for two weeks…”
“Then moved to SHIELD in California for another few weeks to continue to monitor my health. The doctors thought the sun would do me some good when they forget I absolutely despite being so hot. We only just came back last night. Anthony…” She let go of Steve’s hand with a soft squeeze and cupped his cheek, giving a fond smile. Her fingertips stroked over the gray peppered through his beard. “I am absolutely so sorry that you did not know. I asked about you several times. Steve even tried to contact you but Pepper said you were out of the country on some business.”
“Unavoidable, lost all communications when the suit was destroyed.” Maybe he shouldn’t have said that given Peggy’s furrowed brow. “But still even before that…I shouldn’t have to come home and find out through Barton of all people that you’re alive. But I don’t blame you or Steve or-or any of our friends, I blame those bastards in there. What would they think I would’ve done to you if I had known right off? Experiment on you? I’m not my father.”
Peggy’s arms wrapped around Tony tightly and crushed him to her, the cane clattering to the floor. Tony melted against her and suddenly he was five again. Scared, sniffling, not wanting to let go of her hand and go to school. He’s been to school, he’s had tutors come in, he’s done it online, but going into a classroom with other kids who were dumber than him and loud and annoying and he liked how quiet his auntie’s office was and she listened to him.
His legs buckled and he was only supported by Peggy and eventually as her still recovering body gave out, Steve too who lowered them both to the floor. He hadn’t even realized he was crying until Peggy was making calming, soothing noises and stroking his hair away from his face.
“I’m sorry I didn’t visit as often as I had liked,” he whimpered, refusing to pull his face from her shoulder. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there. I’m sorry that I blamed you. I’m so sorry, Auntie.”
“Shh, shh, darling,” Peggy whispered, rubbing his spine. “Shh. I do not blame you, not for one bit. Your gifts to keep me afloat, to keep my programs running in mine and your mother’s name was more than enough for me. Seeing your face weekly was enough. I am not upset. You…” She pulled back to cup his face and press their foreheads together. “You were hurting and raw and had to blame someone after Howard’s death. I was there and I was your balm, as I have always had been. I blamed myself too, it’s okay.”
“No, it-it’s not okay. It’s not. You didn’t deserve that! You had too much on your shoulders already instead of me being a brat.” The painful sob ripped from him and Tony just wanted to melt into the floor.
“Anthony, please listen to me I do not blame you, not one bit. You needed someone at that time. Rhodey was away for basic and I was there for you.” She used the end of her sleeves to clean his face off and peck a small kiss to his nose. “It’s okay now. This…”
“It’s a second chance.”
It was Steve who spoke, causing both of them to look up. Tony had forgotten he was even there, watching him have the breakdown of a lifetime. All the while sitting back, looking somehow small in his large form. If he had been younger…he would’ve been excited to see Captain America but after working with Steve for years, he could see why Peggy worked so hard to honor him. Steve got on his nerves, under his skin with his bullshit morals, but sometimes he did have a point.
And then other times, he saw why Peggy had complained about how infuriating frustrating the Captain was.
“Yeah,” Tony breathed, nodding his head as he looked back at his Auntie. “A-a second chance. At least this time you don’t have to change my diapers.”
Peggy snorted and rolled her eyes, ruffling her godson’s hair. Untangling their limbs and with Steve’s help, the pair were pulled to their feet, her cane back in hand. Peggy grasped him, leaving Steve to run ahead to get the car as they walked down the hallway.
“What did the doctors say? Any reason you keep using that cane?”
“Because they’re idiots,” she sighed, making Tony smile. “The serum was successful for the most part, but given how…ill I was and the state of my body and numerous injuries, some things are slower to heal than others. I’m healing at a faster rate, but it’ll take time before I’m a full hundred percent again. They warned me to get plenty of rest and take it slow.”
“Do they even know you?” Tony snorted, letting the elevator take them down to ground level. He leads her out a side entrance and towards a covered awning, the snow piling up around them. “The last you’ll ever do is take it slow.”
“Obviously not and they clearly don’t know Steve either. One nurse tried to shoo him from the room because he wasn’t considered ‘family’. I told them if I wasn’t still considered legally dead until they get a jump on the paperwork, then Steve wouldn’t be  considered family.” She rolled her eyes as she slipped inside the jeep, staying in the backseat with Tony pressed against her side. Steve just smiled at them through the mirror.
“Where to, Miss Carter?” He teased, closing the doors for them and pulling out to the main street. “You’re officially cleared from Shield Hospital. The world is your oyster – why…does that saying exist?”
It was Tony’s turn to roll his eyes. “Not this again, Steve. Stop thinking about it. Why are you even driving? I could’ve called Pepper to set a plane up for us.”
“Some people like to drive, Tones. It’s calming for me, I never got to drive much beforehand and this…” He gripped the wheel lightly and ran his fingertips over the expensive leather. “Is one reminder I’m grateful for what I have.”
Around Peggy, Tony noted, Steve was a different person. More whimsical, almost calmer, more…himself than he’s seen Steve been in the years he’s known him. “You didn’t know how to drive,” he grumbled under his breath, noting Steve was turning onto the highway. “You crashed your first bike into a tree.”
“Peggy!” Steve’s eyes flashed to hers through the mirror, where she was finding the cars around them suddenly interesting. “You told him about that? I didn’t crash it. It slipped out from underneath me because Jones didn’t…”
“Excuses, excuses,” Peggy laughed. “And no, he didn’t. I had to teach him after…he recklessly and bravely rescued the 107th. We didn’t have much time in between the serum and us being shipped off on two different routes and his smaller self couldn’t even see half the time, so risking him being behind the wheel was not something I was going to do.”
“She’s told me many stories about you, Stevie-buddy. Like the time you and the Howlies went up against a moose and geese.”
Steve’s face flushed the brightest shade of pink as he went around a slower car, his fingertips drumming on the wheel. “We do not speak of those demons – ever.”
Tony laughed and for the first time in a while, it felt good to laugh. A real laugh. A hint at a life he could’ve had if Steve hadn’t died. A hint at a life together where he knew his Uncle and Auntie as two people and not a Captain and Director. This was a second chance and he was going to take every moment that he could while avoiding their sickening love.
Peggy’s hand squeezed his own and he found himself sinking into her shoulder and eventually in her lap in his exhaustion. Four days up straight did that to you. He could hear Steve’s rumbling voice, paying no attention and Peggy’s soft response as she played with his hair.
“I want to go home, Steve,” she told him with a small smile. “Brooklyn. Our real home, I think I’m tired of DC for now and I remember a promise I made a long time ago to this one…” Her fingers stopped stroking Tony’s hair, looking down at his relaxed face. He looked so much like his mother. “We’ll need to stop by the humane society – I promised Anthony that I would get him another cat.”
If Steve was surprised, he said nothing. “Okay, but we’re not naming him Mr. Sprinkles.”

Bucky held the small piece of paper in his shaky hands. The small words on it confused him to no end and Natasha’s smile confused him more.
“I might be a father?” Bucky asked her, his mouth hung open.
“I used your sample baby.” Natasha’s grin matched the gleam in her eyes as she rubbed over his thigh.
“You what?” He couldn’t control the anger in his voice as he asked her. “Without telling me?”
“I wanted it to be a surprise. To be romantic.” Her smile didn’t let up.
“But you...” Bucky couldn’t even find the words to respond to her.
His plans to ask her for a divorce now had a wedge in them. The fact that she used his sperm without him knowing, just to hold something else to hold over him angered him.
He glared down at the dinner she made him. Everything was all a setup and he couldn’t do anything but just wait. All he ever wanted was to have a family. His own children and his own family to call his. He couldn’t see himself being with Natasha anymore, but now after she used his only sample before the surgery for cancer, he had no choice.
Without saying a word, Bucky stood from the table. Natasha watched the pain etch onto his face as he left the dining room. He left to their bedroom without a word to her. He was upset, but in Natasha’s head, this is what would keep them together.
-
It had been 15 days since you had been to the doctors, and in the last couple of days you had been waking up nauseous and weak.
You sat on the bus with May on your way to the mall, you carried a water bottle with you to try and keep you refreshed and wake you up.
As you took in a deep breath another wave of nausea came over you. You untwist the bottle and take a drink, trying to ease yourself.
May noticed you’re uncomfortable and shifted in your seat.
“Are you okay, honey?” May put a hand on your shoulder.
“Yeah, just feeling a little nauseous is all.” You assured her.
May frowns. “Maybe We should get you some Pepto-Bismol while we are there.”
You nodded in agreement and went back to looking out the window. The bus came to a stop and two elderly nuns got on board.
You looked around seeing that most seats were full and you and May were in the curiosity seats.
“C’mon. Let’s get up.” You nudge May.
“But you’re feeling sick.” May tries to keep you seated.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll be fine.” You said before standing up.
As soon as you step out into the isles, you feel a dizzy spell come over you from the back of your head and your chest fills with pressure. You sway as you try to stay upright but then nausea came again.
May saw you sway and before she could say your name, you dropped to the floor.
“Oh my god, June!” May kneels over you, pulling you into a recovery position while people alerted the bus driver.
You woke up again and you were in the emergency room.
You frown and groan as you sit up.
“Hey, there take it easy.” May was at your side as soon as you opened your eyes.
“What happened?” You asked her.
“You fainted on the bus.” May said, rubbing the back of your hand. “I think you’re a little sick, my love.” She gave you a sweet smile.
“Maybe a little.”
“Alright, I’ve got news.” A doctor pulled back the privacy curtain. “Oh, you’re awake. Hello, I’m Dr Banner.”
“Hi, Dr Banner.” You said as you slowly sat up in the bed.
“So we tested your urine and your bloods. Your nausea and fainting spells are not random. Congratulations, you’re pregnant.”
“What?” Both you And May say at the same time.
“That’s not right.” May says.
“Yeah, there’s no way I’m pregnant. I’m a virgin.” You tell him.
Dr Banner pauses at your words. “Maybe We should have this conversation in private, June.”
“Oh my god, June.” You look up at May who had a cheeky smile on her face. “Did you and Steve...?”
“No, we did not.” you held up your hand. “There’s no need to talk in private, because I’m not pregnant.”
“Okay. False positives are frequent but false negatives are very rare.” Dr Banner tries to tell you.
“Well, then you better take another test because if my daughter says she’s a virgin then she’s a freaking virgin.” May began to fume.
Dr Banner held up his hands. “Okay, alright. We will take another test.”
Dr Banner fetched you a cup of water and waited for you to bring back your urine.
He held the pregnancy strip in front of you and dipped it into your pee cup. “Pink means pregnant.”
He pulled out the strip, and believe it or not, the tip was pink.
You and May stared at it in awe. “But I’ve never had sex!”
-
Bucky and Natasha sit in front of Becca in her office in silence.
“Just say it. I’m not pregnant.” Nat said.
Becca clasped her hands together in front of her mouth and nodded. “No. No, you are not pregnant. I’m very sorry.”
Bucky sighed in relief, but his hope also diminished inside of him. “It’s alright, Bec it’s not your fault.”
“No, but you see it kinda is.” Becca shrugged.
Both Bucky and Nat frowned at her. They took in her appearance. She looked very stressed and she held herself as if she was now just letting it roll away from her.
“What do you mean?” Bucky asked her.
“Well,” Becca shifted in her chair. “Two weeks ago when I walked in on Allison with her...” she rolled her eyes and trailed off. “It doesn’t matter, it was two weeks ago. I accidentally inseminated a woman with your specimen.”
Bucky’s and Nat’s eyebrows shot up at her words. “You wh-insemin-“ Nat stuttered over her words and Bucky sat in shock.
“Yep. I did that.” Becca opened her hands and took her responsibility. “I did it and frankly I cannot reverse it.”
A knock came at the door of her office. A nurse pushed it open and looked at Becca.
“She’s here.”
Becca looked at Bucky and Nat, giving them a tight-lipped smile and pushed herself off the chair. “Excuse me.”
She walked out of the office, leaving Bucky and Nat to thinking about the predicament.
Becca stood in front of the room you were currently sitting inside and took a deep breath.
You sat inside with May standing next to you. You could feel the stress building in your stomach when May suddenly burst out. “I slept with Happy last month.”
“What?” You whip your head around to look at her. “Why are you telling me this now?”
“What if yours some sort of religious messiah? I can’t lie to a religious messiah!”
“I’m not even religious May, or a messiah. Just stop.”
May shifted in her spot when the door opened, Dr Alver stepped into the room.
“Oh thank god. Dr Alver thank you for seeing me.” Becca closed the door and sat down as she listened to you explain. “It’s the craziest thing happening. All these pregnancy tests keep coming back positive. There’s gotta be some sort of reason right? Like a hormonal thing or...”
“There is a reason.” Becca nodded to you, staying very calm. “And that reason would be that I accidentally inseminated you two weeks ago.”
You and May stared at her, dumbfounded. “What?”
“It was a mistake. I made a mistake. There’s usually only a 20% that it takes so I thought you would never know, but apparently that wasn’t the case.”
You stared at her in shock as May began to lay into her about her professionalism and her medical license.
Your worst fear has come true. You have an unplanned pregnancy on your hands. You tried all these years to keep your flower pure and white as you sorted out your life but now your whole life has been turned upside down.
“Ms Parker.” Becca brought your attention back to her. “You are under no obligation to keep the baby or get rid of it. And you obviously do not have to make contact but the father does know.”
The mention of the father made you sad. “Oh my god. The father.”
Those words almost brought tears to your eyes.
“I have to go. I need to leave.”
“Ms Parker.” Becca tried to get you to talk but May stopped her.
“No! No, this is bullshit!” May pointed at her.
You left her to defend herself against May as you walked out of the doctor’s clinic.
You felt your petals crumpling and turning brown with every step you took. What the hell were you going to do? What were you going to tell Steve?
You stood in the street and panted as you panic.
You have a baby growing inside you and you don’t know what to do with it, and this is exactly what you were trying to avoid. You weren’t ready to have a baby, to be responsible for another human being and to have a baby stretch your body. You were too young to have a mom-bod.
“June.” Mays voice came from behind you and her hands were on your shoulders. “June it’s okay to be okay.”
“No it’s not. None of this is going to be okay, May.” Tears filled your eyes as you looked at May. “I have someone else’s child in me and I don’t even know him. I’m only twenty-three and I still live at home. I’m in school and I’m a waitress at a hotel, how the hell am I supposed to have a baby?”
You sobbed as May pulled you into her arms. Too many emotions swelled in your chest and stomach right now that you couldn’t even stop yourself from crying into her shoulder.
“You’re not alone in this, Junie. And this is in no way your fault. It’s that stupid doctor’s fault and we are gonna sue.” May reassured you as she rubbed your back.
A couple walking passed the clinic and saw you crying into May’s arms, watching you with confused looks.
“What are you looking at motherfuckers?” May snapped at them, causing them to look away and walk away quickly.
“May, stop.” You pulled away from her and laughed at her antics.
You wiped at your eyes and let out a watery sigh. “I’m a mess.”
“You’re allowed to be.” May rubbed your arms. “That doctor also gave me a pill to give you.” May rolled her eyes as she said doctor and handed you a pill bottle. “If you decide not to keep the baby, then you take those.”
You looked at the little brown bottle that would end the little life starting building in your womb.
You can’t think straight, this was all too much information in under an hour.
“It’s okay, take time to think about it. It’s a lot.” May patted your hand with the bottle.
“Thank you, May.” You looked at her with an appreciative smile. “For everything.”
“Anything for you.” May might not be your biological mother, but she meant so much more than any real parent of yours would be.
“I love you.” You pulled her into another hug.
“Aw, I love you too, my baby.” May smiled and kiss your hair. “Now you gotta get ready for your anniversary dinner with Steve tonight.”
“What about the Mall?” You asked her.
“Honey, the Mall was forgotten about seven bouts of bad news ago.” She wrapped her arm around you and you both made your way down the street to the bus stop.
-
Steve was pacing around and continuously fussing about with the dinner setting. Tonight had to be absolutely perfect of wanted it all to work out.
He was fiddling with the placement of dining wear when the front doorbell rang.
He frowned and made his way over to the door, opening to reveal you.
“June.” Steve frowns and looks at his watch. “You’re a bit early.” He steps aside to let you in.
“I hope that’s okay.” You lean up on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips. “Today has just been...” You wave your hand around as you try to find the words. “All kinds of crazy.”
“No that’s completely fine.” Steve assures you, walking into the house and watching you take your jacket off.
He felt the ring box in his pocket, he saw you. He was in love with you and there was no changing that, ever. He will still wait forever if he has to, but he wants to call you his wife.
Better now than never.
Steve took the ring box out of his pocket. “I really need all of this to be perfect for you, Junie.”
You huff in amusement as you still fiddled with your jacket, not looking at him. “Today has been far from perfect.”
“Well, baby.” Steve got down on his knee as you turned around to face him.
“Oh, god.” You say as you see him on his knee with the box in his hand. “Steve...” you tried before he could say anything.
“June, there’s been so many things in my life that I haven’t been sure about. But I know that I am definitely sure about you.”
“Steve, please...”
“I’m in love with you, June. I’m not doing this just because I want sex. Though I do want to have sex with you. But I want you completely. June, will you-“ you cut him off quickly.
“I’m pregnant.” You blurt out.
Steve blinks and his posture falters for a second. “What?”
-
You sat at the dining table as Steve paced back and forth.
“So let me get this straight.” He placed a finger in the table and a hand on his hip. “She just inseminated you without checking your file?”
“I don’t know, Steve. All I remember is her crying. She could barely hold it together.” You shrugged.
“June, that doesn’t matter. You’re now pregnant because she was sad.” Steve raised his voice.
“I know, Steve. I am the one that’s pregnant you don’t need to yell at me.” You glared at him and looked back down at your hands.
Steve sighed and sat down across from you. His shoulders sagged and he put his head in his hands. “I know. I’m sorry.” He lifted his head to look at you, grasping your hands in his and making you look up at him. “I’m not angry at you, I’m sorry. I’m annoyed at the doctor.”
“I know.” You sighed.
“So what’s happening right now?” Steve asks.
You shake your head as you run through your options. “I have no idea.”
The doorbell rang through the house. Steve’s shoulders sagged more. “I invited both our families. I was sure you would say yes.”
You caress his hands and give him an apologetic look.
“Can we at least pretend you did, just for now?” Steve asks, trying to hide his stress.
“Of course.” You say.
Steve stands and pulls you up with him. “Thank you.”
You give him a sweet smile. “You know, under different circumstances, I would’ve said yes.”
Steve smiles down at you. “I know.” He says and rests his forehead against yours.
The doorbell rang again followed by a knock.
“Alright, we can do this.” Steve said.
“We can do this.” You nodded. You pulled him down to a kiss before letting him go to the door.
This was going to be a tough strain on your relationship.
-
The party went as well as it could. Steve disappeared from you at some points, but that was to be expected. May, Pepper, and Peter came to congratulate you and hug you, as well as Steve’s family.
If you had said yes, this would’ve been the time of your life. But with the pregnancy fresh in the back of your mind and now the trouble with Steve weighing on you, you found it hard to enjoy the party. It was all fake.
And you couldn’t even drink the stress away. You took a sip of wine before spitting it back into the glass, but the thought of drinking the wine anyway did cross your mind. This wasn’t your baby and you didn’t want this at all. It wasn’t even a mistake you had made.
You considered drinking the alcohol before deciding to tip it out and stick with juice.
At the end of the night, you kissed Steve and his family goodnight and you were taken home.
As you got ready for bed in the bathroom, Pepper snuck into your room to congratulate you again when she spotted the bottle of pills. Abortion pills. Pepper lifts the bottle closer to her face.
The idea of you pregnant settles in her mind and she lets her body to sit on your bed. Everything she had warned you about as a child has been to avoid exactly this.
She didn’t want you to end up like your mother, who dumped you on your father’s doorstep and left before he could open the door. The same man who ran straight to his ex-girlfriend for advice after his parents made him have a DNA test and kicked him out. Pepper had let him stay with her while he sorted out what to do, she watched as he spiraled and declared himself unfit to raise a little girl on his own before running off himself.
May was the only one with a stable income and had also taken in Peter after his parents died. Pepper cane around frequently to help her raise two children at once, ones that weren’t even there’s.
You walked into your bedroom to see Pepper on your bed, holding the pills.
“Were you planning on telling me anytime soon, or were you just going to get rid of it before I found out.” Pepper asked you in a low voice, not moving from your bed.
“No, Pepper. This is all just a big mistake.” You tried to explain it to her.
“You know, your father felt the same about you too.” She said, placing the pills back on your bedside table and stood from your bed.
“Pep, this is different.” You say.
“How is this different? Because you and Steve are now engaged because you’re in trouble?”
“We aren’t actually engaged.” You mumble and Pepper raised her eyebrows, ready to lay into you.
“No, Pepper, please listen.” You held up your hands before she could open your mouth.
Pepper arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms, waiting for you to talk.
“I was accidentally inseminated.” You start.
“You were what?!” Pepper screeched.
“She got me confused with another woman and put a piece of another man inside me.” You explained to her.
Peppers face softened and hardened at the same time.
“How on earth does she get you confused?! She put a another man’s baby in you!”
“I know. We only found out just hours ago, and I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.”
Pepper puts a hand to her forehead and sighs at the news. “Do you know this man?”
You shook your head.
Pepper watched as your body sagged with visible tiredness. You were leaning against the doorway, barely able to stand and you were clearly stressed by everything.
“Oh, June.” Pepper steps forward and brings you into her arms.
You hug her and start to cry again. You really needed to comfort from both of them right now, because even with this new life inside of you, you’ve never felt so isolated.
“I did everything all my life to make sure that this wouldn’t happen. I followed your rules. But now I’m so scared, Pepper.” You sobbed.
“Shh, baby. I know.” Pepper brushes your hair back and kisses your forehead. “I know this is scary, but you will get through this. You’re not alone.”
“I know.” You hugged her tighter. “Thank you, Pep.”
Pepper pulls back and takes your cheeks in her hands.
“You’re very welcome, my sweet.” She sighs before moving her hands to your shoulders. “But I think you should hold off on the termination. Just for now. It’s only day one after all.”
You look up at her and nod. “Of course.”
Pepper gives you another smile before kissing your forehead again. “Get some sleep, babe.”
“Goodnight.” You say before she leaves.
As soon as you tuck yourself into bed, you’re exhaustion caught up with you and as soon as your head hit your pillow, you were out like a light.
-
Over the next few days, Steve put nose into his work and you worked on figuring out a way to work with your pregnancy.
While at work, one of your managers told you that the owner of the hotel wanted to speak to you.
Chills ran down your spine you remember the last time you spoke to him.
You called him a jerk. Within reason, because he thought you were a stripper. But still, he was your boss. As if you needed more stress right now, now he was about to make your life a living hell.
He was in a small paradise tent near the pool, standing and looking over the pool.
“Mr Barnes?” Your voice was small as you said his name.
He turned at the sound of your voice, and a smile graced his face. “June.”
He approached you with a much better attitude than you anticipated. “Hey, June.”
You gave him a hesitant smile before responding. “Hi. Look before you do anything.” You cleared your throat. “I just wanna apologise for calling you a jerk that night. I mean, you can kinda understand why, but none the less I shouldn’t have done it and I’m really sorry.”
“Oh, please. No need to apologise I was out of line.” He reassured you and you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in.
“Thank you.” You have him a rested smile.
“Please,” he stepped aside and offered for you to sit down at the table. “Join me for a second.”
“Um, sure.” You entered the open tent and took a seat. In front of you was a glass of orange juice.
“I know this is very sudden, but I just wanted to make sure that you were okay and comfortable.” Bucky said as he sat down.
You frowned at him in confusion. “What do you mean?”
Bucky looked at you and took a deep breath. “I am the father.” He said lowly.
You raised your eyebrows for what felt like the millionth time in the past two weeks. “You’re the father?”
“Yeah.” Bucky his lip. “That was my sperm.”
“Oh my god.” You said in shock.
“I know this is all very confusing and, as I can imagine, full-on. But I felt an obligation to make sure that you were okay.” He looked at you with worried eyes.
You observed his face as he looked at you. His big, silvery blue eye looked at you with such pure concern that you didn’t know what to think.
“I-I don’t know wha- I mean-“ you stumbled over your words and Bucky held up his hand.
“It’s alright. I can’t imagine how much news you’ve been given lately.”
“I am so sorry.” You spat out.
“You’re sorry?” Bucky asked you.
“Yes, Mr Barnes. I-“
“Please, call me Bucky.” He told you.
“Bucky.” You nodded. “I mean, this is your baby that is supposed to be in your wife and I insulted you just weeks ago and now I have your kids and this is all just so much.” You rambled.
Bucky could see that you were spiraling and starting to panic. He got up from his seat and kneeled down next to you, picking up your glass of orange juice and handing it to you.
“This is not your fault.” He reassured you. “All of this was just a really big mistake.”
Bucky spoke as you downed your orange juice.
You breathed as you swallowed the last bit and placed the glass back down.
“That’s really good juice.” You said with a little laugh as you wiped your mouth.
“Yeah. I had it freshly squeezed when I saw that you order it with your lunch every day.”
You looked at him with a raised brow.
“I wanted to make sure you were at least a little comfortable when I told you.” He gestured to the jug of juice next to it. “This was the best I could do without invading your privacy.”
You gave him a smile of appreciation. “Thank you, Mr Barnes.”
“Bucky.” He winked at you.
“Bucky.”
You both sat and talked for a while, looking out at the pool and easing your nerves and feeling a lot better than you have since what felt like forever.
“If you don’t mind me asking.” You said to him. “What made you freeze your sperm?”
Bucky sighed. “Two years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had to undergo surgery that would compromise my ability to have kids. I’ve always wanted a family of my own so I froze it.” He explained.
You grew a wave of sympathy for him. “Wow. I’m so sorry about that.”
“Yeah.” He looked at the ground and played with his fingers. “The surgery got rid of it and did its job. I just didn’t expect my wife to go unfreeze it without telling me.”
“You didn’t know?” You frowned at him.
He shook his head. “Nope. But, you know, nonetheless, I still want kids.”
“And this was your only chance.” You finished the story in your head.
Bucky only nodded. Now you felt super guilty.
You had really been considering your options about this baby, but now it killed you to know that the only shot of Bucky having a family is inside of you right now.
“I think we need to discuss some sort of arrangement.” You said, making him look up.
-
Steve was working hard to identify the red-headed woman that Sam Wilson, a possible buyer from a major drug cartel, Hydra, had been sleeping with in the recent days.
Pictures of the woman were strewn across his desk as he rubbed at the tension headache delaying him.
Hearing wolf whistles, Steve lifted his head to see you, graced in a beautiful dress and a smile, making your way towards him.
“June.” He stood from his desk. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m going to keep the baby.” You said as you reached him.
Steve frowned at your words.
“I’m going to keep the baby and when it’s born, I’ll give it to it’s parents.” You continued.
“You found out who the father is?” Steve questioned you.
You nodded. “It was his one shot at having kids and I don’t have the heart to take that away from him and his wife.”
Steve breathed out a sigh of relief as you said ‘wife’.
You chuckled at his action and stepped forward, resting a hand on his chest.
“I know this is going to be tough. But I’m still very much in love with you.” Steve reaches to touch your hand and squeezed it at your words.
“And I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have by my side.”
You lifted the ring box that he gave you the night he tried to propose.
“But what about your timeline?” He lifted his eyes to look at you with hope.
You smirked at him. “I think I forgot about that timeline an ‘accidental insemination’ ago.” Steve huffed out a laugh.
He was so happy to see you and to see you so much better than when he did that night.
“So, Steve Rogers...” you began. “Will you marry me?”
“Fuck yes.” Steve lifted you by the waist and pressed his lips against yours. The whole precinct cheered as you kissed.
You poured your heart and soul into the kiss.
When he finally pulled away, he took the ring out of the box and threw it on his desk. Pushing the ring onto your finger, he rested his forehead against yours.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” You pulled him into another kiss.

Survey #436
from a couple days ago again; still don’t feel like rewriting any answers.
Do you own many pairs of shorts? I don't own any. Have you ever taken a close up shot of a flower? A hell of a lot; I love doing that. Have you ever wanted to get drunk and get your mind off everything? Yup. But I don't like hard alcohol and only really drink light fruity stuff, and I'm apparently no lightweight, so I got to the point I just really didn't want to drink anymore. Anything you might be giving up on soon? I have felt very, very hopeless with photography lately that sometimes I'm tempted. I don't think I will, but... it's hard. When was the last time you changed your picture on Facebook? It's been months. Have you ever painted a piece of furniture? Yes, actually. I helped Jason paint his shelf black. Do you have a favorite quote? No. Have you ever made a business card for yourself? No, but I have thought about it. I just really don't have nearly enough popularity among the local photographers to feel like I really need to design one. Did you love playing hide and seek as a kid? YES. I loved it. Are there any recipes you have memorized? No. Do you know your multiplication times tables? ... no lmao Have you ever been severely burned? Not severely, no. Did you ever dream that you had a baby? I actually have more than once. What was the weirdest thing you ever saw cross the road? I think a turkey? Are you good at coming up with jokes? God no. Where do you prefer to sit when you catch the bus? When I used to ride home with Jason from school, we always sat way in the back. Do you ever listen to music to fall asleep to? No. I did when I was younger, though. I went through a loooong phase of sleeping with my iPod. If your parents... or anybody else... found your cell phone, would they be horrified at any of the messages in your inbox/outbox? No. Do you get offended if someone repeatedly checks their mobile phone when you’re out for lunch or dinner? That's very rude. What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard somebody say recently? Anti-vaccination bullshit from my stepmother. :^) Think about the last person you kissed - was it the very first time that you kissed them? No. When you drink alcohol with friends, do you play drinking games? We never did. Do you believe that there are certain circumstances where cheating is okay? Nope. Who was the last person to call you? My psychiatrist. What food disgusts you the most? Things like sashimi and caviar. I also think rare meat like steak, especially when it's still bloody, is absolutely disgusting. I could go on and on about this, 'cuz I think a lot of food is really gross. One place you would never want to get lost in in the dark? The jungle. Yikes. So many dangerous creatures, so claustrophobic, and with the canopy, I'd assume it'd be EXTREMELY dark. And it rains so much in the jungle, so it'd be hard to hear danger approaching. One thing that always creeps you out? Perhaps #1 is seeing an unborn baby move from outside their mother's stomach. I will fucking scream and want to puke. If you could be roommates with anyone of your choice, who would you pick? SARA!!!!!!!!! Omfg I'd LOVE to have her as my roommate. We've actually talked about the possibility, but that's nowhere near set in stone. What is the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard? In light of recent events, a high contender is shit like "vaccines cause autism." Would you rather be buried or cremated when you die? I'd strongly prefer to be cremated. What is your favorite food around the holidays? Spiral honey ham, for one. I love Christmas treats like chocolate-covered peanuts, fudge, cookies, etc. etc... Tell me about the greatest prank you’ve ever pulled? I don't pull pranks. If you could have the power to cast any kind of spell, what kind of spell would you cast? Maybe enchanting the human population to not be such violent and hateful fucks??? Have you ever gotten a flu vaccination? Only for Covid. Double dates: a do or don’t? They are SO fun, but I do feel like it's good to have individual ones, too. Do you know any guitarists? Yes. My old friend Tommy actually plays the electric guitar in a band, and Juan was really good at it, too. How do you feel about full-length beards? They look good on some people. It varies with everyone. Do you have any relatives that have shunned you, or vice versa? Not currently. My half-sister stopped talking to me many years ago when I was a homophobic fuck, and I don't blame her. We're perfectly cool now! Has anyone ever posted a HORRIBLE picture of you for everyone to see? omg no Does/did your high school have pop machines? Yes. Have you ever gambled? Nah. If you could work at any retail store, which one would it be? I am NEVER working retail again. I can't handle it. What’s the name of the last cat you pet? Roman. :') Have you ever stringed green beans before? Yes, actually, with Colleen's in-laws. They had a big garden that I helped tend to sometimes. I absolutely hated it with how sweaty I got even then, it was WAY too hot, and my body was also weak back then to where bending down was extremely painful. I just never wanted to say no. Have you ever had any painful dental work done? If so, what? No. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re bored? It really depends on what I feel like doing, but I think playing World of Warcraft tempts me most often when I'm unbearably bored. What did you watch today? I've just been rewatching Mortem3r play Monster Hunter World. That game looks soooo fun, I wanna try it. ;-; True or False: Yoshi is the cutest dinosaur ever? No. I adore dinosaurs and dinosaur media, so I could name a lot if I thought long enough. Who is the last person you spent money on? My niece. I still feel awful I didn't buy Ryder a gift by myself; I just could NOT decide what to get him. I'm very thankful that Mom let me use one she got him as "mine." They were bright, light-up golf balls, and he loooooved them. What is your relationship like with various members of your family? I have a biiig extended family, man, so I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I am EXTREMELY close to my mom, like there is no way I'd be alive without her, and her support for me seems endless somehow. I love my dad very much too, but I don't see him nearly as much as I wish I did. He tries to support me however he's capable, and he always lets me know that he's there if I need him for anything. I love, am very proud of, and look up to my two sisters, but I'm also very envious of them and how they are successful adults with direction and big accomplishments. We are very different, so we have difficulty with really bonding and talking about things regularly, and it really makes me feel like a terrible sister. My nieces and nephew are absolute diamonds to me, and I'm especially close to Ash's oldest daughter Aubree. She and I are very similar in a lot of areas, so I really relate to her, even in her young age. Ryder really seems to like me, and I love that little rascal, too. :') My youngest niece Emerson is still only a baby, so she can't really communicate in words yet, but she is still a beautiful darling that I'd protect with my life in not even a blink. That covers who I consider my "immediate" family, really, at least that I see regularly. What’s something you disagree with about the way you were raised? I am very firmly against spanking, but my parents did it. I think since Ash's kids were born though, Mom's opinion changed on it. It was around that time, I know. She won't lay a hand on them. Who was the last person to add you as a friend on Facebook? I have no clue, actually. Who was the last person that asked if you were okay? *shrug* The last time you were in a car, who was driving? My mom. Did you ever get into a bar and drink before you were 21? Never tried. What countries have you been to? I've never left the U.S. Honestly, is that car insured? I don't have my own car. What do you think about gay marriage? I vigorously support it. Do you like Carrie Underwood? I actually do. She has a beautiful voice. How far away do you live from your parents? I live with my mom. Idk how far I am from Dad, really... but not THAT far. How do you like your steak cooked? Medium well. Have you ever been to Mount Rushmore? No, and I don't want to. It is absolute vandalism. Where is your favorite place (that you have actually been to)? Chicago blew me away, but I think it's just because it was SO foreign to me. I actually don't like cities very much, but for a brief visit, I thought it was very cool. Do you believe places can really be haunted? Yes. Do you take anti-depressants? Sleeping pills? No. I took anti-depressants for I think most of my life, and they did nothing for me. Come to learn from the doctor who actually set my meds straight that anti-depressants for people with bipolarity do nothing but aggravate the symptoms of bipolarity, and I was living evidence. I take mood stabilizers for said disorder instead. I don't take sleeping pills; none seem to work for me. What’s your favourite brand of peanut butter? Maybe Skippy? Idk, I'm not very picky with pb. What’s your favourite Lunchables meal? The nachos one. How many languages can you recite the alphabet in? Two. Do you like Bob Marley? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I can't stand his voice. Have you ever eaten at Golden Corral? Yeah, but I'm not a fan. Buffets gross me out. Do you sit and eat dinner at the same table with your family? We very rarely sit at the table. Have you been working hard to achieve something lately? If not, what was the last thing you worked hard to achieve? Losing weight, yes. I am honestly trying so hard at the gym, like to the point I've almost fallen many times as well as been overtaken by incredible nausea a lot. I don't feel like I'm over-working, necessarily, just working my ass off. Do you use ice cubes in your fountain drinks? No, because it waters the drink down and I hate it. Would you ever want your very own library, or do you not read enough for it to be worth it? No. I don't read nearly enough, and besides, can you imagine all the dust? What site did you originally start doing surveys on? I actually don't know... Have you ever used something other than water to make ice cubes? What did you do with them? I've actually never thought to do that. Would you ever willingly experience life temporarily without sight, hearing, or any of your other senses, simply to know what it is like? Fuck no. I would go insane. In what ways are you very judgmental? I'll judge the fuck out of rapists, child molesters, pedophiles, people like that with no goddamn shame. But your average person, I try not to judge very much. What is your main problem in life right now? It's hard to determine my main problem, honestly. There are a lot of issues going on in my life that've just piled up into one big tangled mess. Do your “favourites” change often? Definitely not. I've had the same favorites in so many topics for forever. Have you ever read a biography on someone? I've read Ozzy's autobiography, and I also read the Some Kind of Monster Metallica book, which was written by I want to say St. Anger's musical director? This was a very long time ago, and honestly, I thought it was pretty boring, so my memory is faint. You learned quite a bit about the band in his time with them, but damn, I don't care about the musical director al;skdfal;we. Do you know anyone who has ever been in a movie? Who and what movie were they in? What was their part? Not to my knowledge. I have an acquaintance who's had minor acting roles, but I don't believe she's ever been in a film. When was the last time you brought a pet to the vet? What was wrong with it? I want to say around two years ago (probably less) when we got my cat neutered. Have you ever made your way through a corn maze? No.

Youth
The stress is heaving down on me The responsibilities crushing me I am falling from a cliff cause I can’t hold on anymore
Overwhelmed and freaking out Having a breakdown Trying to live with all of this guilt I am ashamed of so many things
Let's start with the first Which is my laziness I’m always feeling down Like nothing matters at all
I delve into procrastination Coming out feeling guilt-ridden I tell myself that it will be the last time Yet then here comes a deadline
I say I’ll still have time Feeding my irresponsibility Knowing full well that The final day I will be running
Like a deer caught in the headlights Trying to finish something which I could have finished weeks ago With absolutely no problem.
Let's move on to the second thing Unless you want to read ten pages Of me complaining endlessly About my stupidity
I am ashamed of how bad I feel at times Because people keep shoving into my face That I have it easy, plenty people have it worse So my problems aren’t as important As those of the people around me Therefore I am in the wrong
I am too young to be stressed Too young to feel overwhelmed I don’t have to pay taxes or any service so I should shut up and grow up Shut my mouth and go on As my complaints will help nobody They won’t help my grades go up
As if I wasn’t trying As if I was doing it on purpose To those people I ask Were you ever a child? A teenager perhaps?
Have you forgotten that we have our problems too? Stop invalidating me, stop invalidating us Our feelings, our pain They’re very real to us We are exploring, we are discovering things Things about us that feel alien That would have gotten us into so much trouble Maybe even have our heads chopped off in the past
We ain’t begging for attention We are begging for understanding Cause it seems by growing up You’ve forgotten your own childhood Your own wonder and curiosity For the world and everything outside it For the universe and the stars For history, our past For other cultures and human beings
Where did that sense of adventure go? That will to understand, I wonder where did it all vanish to Weren’t you in our place once? Figuring out your own life?
Well now it’s our turn to consider All of our options and we don’t need your biased input to do so
On the third spot are all those expectations That my parents and my teachers put on me. A weight that I carry everyday
I give my all to those assignments And even a B is so disappointing I am told I am destined for greatness So I work harder and harder and harder! Till my back is aching my hand is cramping my arm is hurting and my sleep is lacking Because I’ve been taught That any less is not acceptable That I have to make sacrifices
It’s either social life and my sleep Or my sleep and my grades I’ve been told to sacrifice my body To sacrifice my mental health To give up what makes me happy
All in favor of what? A system that barely works? Blatantly led by clowns? For something so broken That has destroyed hundreds of lives?
Do you believe I’m stupid? Do you believe I’m blind? That I can’t see how this world is run By invisible greed and pride?
The rich keep eating all that money Regurgitating bullshit About how they will help us With that fake benevolence Acting as if they understood our struggles But boy do they enjoy their yachts As we are being swallowed by poverty And subsist by eating cheap shit
They understand nothing Only think about themselves I fear that they have taken over Left us eating dirt
Last thing last, but not least at all Is the absolute pain of feeling so worthless Because by society standards, I am but an insect An insect waiting to be crushed Another sheep to be slain
Until I go to college and I get some papers Making my knowledge official I won’t have a voice Why would I? Someone with no real problems Be allowed to express myself and criticize the way This whole goddamn world is running
I ask for something simple For something so basic And that is acceptance And human decency
This world is filled with so much hate And I dread to tell you, that’s not the extent of it There’s so much wrong with this world So help me bring all the good out
Do it for us, for the youth For the future of our world For the future of the next generation The one that’ll baffle us You and I both.
