Her staff are fucking useless
How hard is it to say "No, Elena, you're a wonderful person and you deserve to live"?!
Putting more thoughts under a read more for spoilers, triggering content and some parts being written in all-caps
Jesus fucking Christ, not one staff member said a THING (most likely thinking Elena was just being dramatic) and then next thing you know Elena's gotten to the point of being so distressed that she's slitting her wrists
I don't swear a lot and I'm not an aggressive person
until a fictional character messes with one of my beloved fictional characters that I relate to a concerning amount (I remember watching that scene where Elena's got all her anxiety meds and being like "game recognises game" lmaooo) and then I'm coming up with a plethora of curse words
When I watched that scene where Mr Laskin was psychologically torturing Elena, I was sitting in between my mum and my grandfather
so while I wanted to start yelling at Mr Laskin, instead I had to sit there aggressively mouthing, "YOU MOTHERFUCKING ABLEIST AGEIST PRICK! I HOPE YOU DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH AND SPEND ETERNITY ROTTING IN A BLACK-MOULD-FILLED HELL FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ELENA!"
Elena's not going to a black-mould-filled Hell, she's Heaven sent
I hope y'all read those paragraphs like this meme:
My mum had to point out to me that the words "black mould danger" were written on the canister in what looks like Sharpie
like sorry I missed the important details, I was too busy THINKING ELENA WAS GONNA DIE IN THE WAY SHE'D ALWAYS FEARED
I mean, if I was gonna be forced to breathe in black mould from a canister, I wouldn't be paying too much attention to what the font style was like, I'd be focusing on the word DANGER written in big black letters
to be read in the voice of the robot from Lost In Space: DANGER, Will Robinson Elena Vernham, DANGER
My mum also informed me that it is very unlikely that you can contain mould in a canister and I said, "What if you put a mouldy orange or something inside the canister?" and she went
The Regime “All Ye Faithful” (S01.E05)
#wish chancellor elena vernham was real; i'd protect her so much#i am the most loyal; honest person and elena needs someone like that#also wish i was in her age range#we'd be so good for each other (weird flex but okay)#like she'd teach me how to have confidence and i'd teach her how to chill#ep 4 pun unintended#really unusual and specific brag but my fanning technique is better than agnes'#agnes looked like she was trying to flick a spider off the end of the fan#love her though#rip agnes; you would've loved bo burnham's song unpaid intern#the regime#chancellor elena vernham#elena vernham#agnes the regime#i'm sure agnes has a surname; i just don't know what it is#it was probably said while elena was being iconic so i missed it completely#the briefings SHOULD be briefer#like i bet they were important; i just don't care for them#'cause to me they're like:#“blah blah someone insults the chancellor; blah blah politics; blah blah your actions have consequences elena”#(to be read in the style of that how i met your mother “blah blah something about a bridge” scene)

The loyal sidekick (Platonic)
Requested Imagine: “Agents of shield x reader where the reader grew up with daisy and daisy promised to never hurt her after she got her powers but when hive was mind controlling her the reader was the one she hurt instead of Mack like the broken ribs and all that jazz. You can finish it from there? Thank you!!”
“Y/N? Y/N, wake up!” You heard a voice say to you and a hand tap your cheek a few times. You tried to give an answer, but you only lightly groaned instead, “Y/N, I need you to open your eyes,” The voice ordered you again, “We’re home now, we’re safe.” It reassured you, as if the speaker could tell one of the reasons as to why you hadn’t opened your eyes yet.
Again, that hand tapped your face, but after it stayed. The owner of the voice changed; you weren’t sure whether or not you had been moved or what had happened.
All you remembered was the pain you felt. One that had died a little since then.
“Y/N?” This one was softer but held more concern than the other; the first was more authoritative, hiding that concern. This voice allowed the concern to come through.
You slowly opened your eyes, seeing Jemma Simmons looking at you with both a doctor’s and friend’s concern. That concern turned to relief, however, when she met your eyes. She did, however, shine.
“They’re awake!” Jemma called out, your ears ringing a little at the sound; she looked at you with a silent apology at your reaction.
Mack was the one who had entered the room; while he looked relieved to see you, he also looked guilty.
“Hey, Y/nn,” The man said as he came over and put a large hand on your leg as if to reassure himself that you were in fact alive.
“Do you remember what happened?” Jemma asked softly, but you saw the pain in her eyes as she asked it.
You did; you remembered it all.
You and Daisy had been together since the orphanage; as far as anyone was concerned, you were blood siblings put together. Hell, she even managed to get your name changed on the file to fool anyone who doubted it. She wasn’t going to let it be doubted. She was your sister as much as Jemma (and later Elena) were to you as well. You were her sibling, as much as BUS kids (and Mack and Yoyo) were to her.
Now, she was taken from you. She was gone, gone with a man you both hatred mutually, Grant Ward. Well, it wasn’t exactly him, he was gone. This was just a thing wearing his body. In a way, though, it felt to you like he was always that the day the truth about him came out.
Coulson was leading the charge, but you were second. That worried the team, they knew you’d move mountains if you could find her. You’d both give up everything to find someone who was a sister to you and a daughter to Coulson. As you both knew, she could be saved.
“Losing you to save her won’t help anything, Y/N.” Jemma tried to warn you; she and the others saw the toll this was taking on you. Her expression of her worry about losing you to the dark wasn’t treated as gravely as she wanted it to be. It didn’t provoke you to change your mind. It only made her realise that you had realised that you might not come back.
“You aren’t going to, Jemma. But…if I have to, then I will.” And that you’d made your peace with it.
“We’ve got a ping.” Coulson told you as he entered your room; he had you as a second in the search for Daisy. You both weren’t really thinking as agents anymore here, just concerned members of a heavily fractured and damaged family.
“Where?” You asked.
It wasn’t too far from you. You just had to get there. You were so close to getting her back, you just had to go there and find her. You didn’t care if Hive was there, that was secondary to you; you weren’t inhuman, so he’d have no need for you.
“I’ll go,” You heard Mack said as you entered the living area, seeing him talking to Coulson. Your back dropping onto the floor made both look at you.
“Team ready?” You asked your friend, he nodded. Mack, however, looked between you both.
“Y/N, this is insane!” Mack argued, worried for your fate if you went.
“She needs us, Mack.” You said in a monotone voice.
“And you need backup!” He was determined to go with you, to make sure that you’d make it back alright. He understood your pain at finding out your friend had been taken. But the lengths you were going to were pulling you down a dark path. One he was going to try and save you from, yourself.
His want, however, fell on death ears.
“I have backup, Mack,” You looked to Coulson, “I’ll bring her back.” You swore to him.
You knew she’d do the same if the tables were flipped and she was one looking for you.
Now, however, you were walking into untouched ground with your sister. She wasn’t fully herself, under the control of Ward. But you were sure as hell going to try.
Mary Sue Poots, that’s who Daisy was before she was Skye and then her current name. You had one, but you urged her to find a new name.
“What about…. Skye?” She asked you one night as she looked at the thing that had inspired her name. You too looked up at the thing, letting the crickets do what they did for a bit longer.
You then answered her, “I think it works.” She knew you were honest and just blowing smoke up her ass; she smiled at your answer and pulled you into a side hug. She had seen gangs of people in the orphanage, but you were a two-person crew.
Not that it mattered to her, though. You had her back, she had yours. That was all you both needed.
You had been split up a few times before, both different foster families that didn’t take you as that pair.
However, you both made it back to the starting place of origin (whether that be by running away or being sent back).
It would always go the same way:
“Oh, thank god.” One of you would say a variation of that as you initiated a hug on the other; both just enjoying the moment of being back with your best friend.
After that, it would be talking and/or patching of any wounds.
You were family, and you always found each other and helped each other in the end.
Mack led one team, trying to find what Hive was doing. Sure, you landed with them, but you quickly left from then and went on your own path.
Coulson had a different come link for you; he knew his voice would be the main one you’d listen to for this scenario. You felt safe with his fatherly voice and concern guiding you. He was the one person you and Daisy looked up to and got a net positive from it. Every other parental figure was either damaged beyond some sort of repair; or just evil from the get-go and bad people.
A vibration rocked through the area you were in, you caught yourself before you fell, however.
“Coulson, what the hell was that?” You asked, pressing your ear to your comms.
“Kree, Mack’s handling it, Y/N.” He assured you, silently telling you to get back on track.
You kept moving, now with more people standing between you and Daisy. For the most part, SHIELD was distracting the newcomers.
Still, one found you.
He swung his axe at you in an attempt to clear you of your head, the axe missed but not by much. You then aimed a kick to push him back, he stumbled a small bit, before he swung again; as you dodged, he brought it down.
You barely got out of the way of that one, the axe scrapping your leg as you fired at him. The sound of your pistol was louder than you remembered, he was sent back, but still wasn’t dead yet. He kept coming.
This time it went hand to hand; you kicked and punched all you could, put your all into it. But that all proved to be for nothing as he grabbed you by the throat and threw you.
When you landed, you rolled along the floor a little, groaning in pain as you did so. When you came to a stop, you pulled your hand into a fist; you were hurt, in a bad shape. But you couldn’t stop, not when you made a promise to both Coulson and you.
It had been a year or so since you and Skye had both left and found a van for you both to live in. It wasn’t the best living conditions, cramped and all that. But, after your last house, Skye knew she had to get you out of there. She couldn’t take it anymore; not the scars you had both started to collect over time; not the trauma you were forced to endure; none of it. You were both tired of being hurt for nothing other than to make some nuns happy and probably do their bit for god.
Yeah, your time had definitely done a number on you both; it definitely turned you more jaded, but Skye was a bit as well.
“Hey, hey, hey. You’re ok, you’re ok.” She said to you as you shot up from another nightmare. You would both be brought back to the memories you tried to burry every so often. Only thing was, in the world you lived in, you couldn’t exactly turn to someone for help without getting ripped off. So, you leant on each other for that support.
“Just…just give me a minute,” Skye gave you as long as you needed to recover from whatever your dream was. Morbidly, you had a bunch of memories for your brain to bring up for your pleasure.
She put a hand to your knee, slowly as to not startle you and make you see her as a threat for am moment too.
“I swear to you, Y/nn, I’m never going to hurt you. Never, as long as I live. I promise you.”
You were still on the ground, the world seeming to go muffled for a moment. Yeah, you were definitely in a fucked up way right now.
You heard someone talking, and you wondered why you weren’t meeting the business end of the Kree’s axe.
It was then that you had heard it, the sound of the person you were looking for. The person that had used this same power to save you time and time again.
Daisy Johnson had taken the Kree down with said ability, but she then laid her eyes on you.
“Y/N….I told Fitz to stay away.” She said, trying to be firm but she softened a little bit.
“Yeah, sorry. You said that to Fitz. You didn’t say that to me. Funnily enough, he left that out when he told us what happened.” You said in pain as you got up to your feet.
As soon as you looked at her, you saw the conflict inside her. You could see the look in her eyes that was fighting between toxic loyalty and genuine care for you as a friend and family member.
Ok, maybe your arrival here wasn’t the best; but you were here now, you’d found her and that was what mattered. Now you just had to bring her back.
“I’m doing this for you, Y/nn. I am doing this to help you guys.” She told you as tears started to pool in her eyes, the conflict growing and growing in her eyes.
She went past the bed that held the blue alien that had so nearly taken your life, “We’re going to turn you into an inhuman. We can finally be that dream team we always wanted to be, right? The heroes that we always talked about? You and me.” She held out her hand to you, this was the her you knew; the her you’d come to save. The one that wouldn’t leave you behind.
“They can stop, Y/N, they can stop worrying about Daisy and Y/N Johnson. They can let us go and let us be. We can be free from them. They can stop bullshitting their worry about us. They’re scared that, at a drop of a hat, we’d leave. You know it, and so do I, Y/nn. All I want, all I’ve ever wanted, is to protect you from that pain. This is that; I’m doing my job as your sister right now. All I need from you, is for you to join me. They made us into soldiers! We can break that cycle.”
Part of you wanted to go with it; part of you wanted to say, “yes”; part of you wanted to go with your sister and become a super-powered individual and be by her side.
But, you closed your eyes and sighed; doing so gave Daisy her answer.
As a tear ran down your face at what you knew was going to happen, she blinked her own away as well.
“Then I’m sorry it’s come to this. But, if you won’t join me.” She held out her hand; the next moment, you had been thrown backwards.
You rolled again, but this time Daisy walked forward; you drew your ICER, only for Daisy to kick the weapon from your hand before she then punched you in the face. You fell back to the ground with a broken nose.
“Close your eyes, Y/nn,” For a moment, it was the genuine voice of Daisy. But, it soon got overtaken by Hive’s wants, “This’ll hurt less for the both of us.” She said as she punched you over and over again. When she was sure you were almost unconscious, she put her hand to your chest and used her ability.
You were almost gone, but you still felt this pain. You felt bones start to croak. She let out her own cry at your one; trying to drown out your pain and focus on her own in this moment.
She was shot the next moment by Mack, after he had stopped the experiment.
“Let them go,” Skye growled as a SHIELD agent handled you a little too roughly, “They had nothing to do with this, I’m the one you want.” She said, more panicked this time at the unsure result of what SHIELD would do to you.
She found herself in a room, talking to two agents; one older and one younger, a little older if not around the same age as her. She pleaded innocent, but the video was what had done the two of you in.
“Where’s Y/N? What did you do to them?” She asked them; Coulson caught the look of fear and concern in her eyes and tone as she spoke, looking between the two.
“Tell us what we want to know and maybe we’ll –” The younger one, Ward, started to say. But he was cut off by the older one, Coulson.
“We’ll bring them to you, least we can do for kidnapping you.” He said; Skye nodded instantly at the offer.
“Come on, help me get them in.” Mack said, not caring about rankings at this point and more about this friend making it out of a borderline suicide mission alive.
They dragged your body in; as soon as those doors closed, May knelt down and tried to find a pulse. She let out a sigh of relief when she found one.
“Y/N? Y/N, wake up!” She said as she tapped you on the check to try and get a response; unfortunately, she did not get one. At least, not one that had you shooting up awake or even opening your eyes, “Y/N, I need you to open your eyes,” She said next in an authoritative voice as if that would work. It didn’t, “We’re home now, we’re safe.” Ok, that one was a lie (and she did feel bad using this against you) but home was always a word that would make you snap to attention if you were awake.
Here, however, it had no effect on you.
“Where is she?” You demanded as you walked through the base, panic striken.
“Y/N –” You cut off one of your best friends,
“Dammit, Jemma! Where is my sister?” You were yelling at this point; in your early grief and fear, you missed Jemma’s flinch at your tone.
“Y/N, she’s fine.” Bobbi said as she approached you, seeing both her friends about to probably have a an argument. She was quick to try and stop it from turning into that.
“I should’ve been there.” Jemma snapped to attention at your words, her eyes widened as her mind ran through the countless outcomes of those words had they been true.
She knew you weren’t thinking straight, a frazzled and tired brain working on overdrive and pure fear would make anyone say anything.
“You could’ve died, Y/N….I couldn’t lose Tripp and you at the same time.” You looked to Jemma at the name of your apparent fallen friend. He’d died?
You can’t even remember if you fully morned him in that moment; as you simply ended up on the other side of the place where Skye slept. You only grabbed a stool and placed yourself there, not allowing yourself to be moved for anything.
You may not of been able to be there for her when she needed it, but you were there now. Willing to do anything to help her.
“Simmons!” May had normally been good at hiding her emotions, but you were the kid of the team. Despite how much she would’ve denied it, her maternal instinct was active when it came to all of you kids; but namely you and Daisy, the two that had grown up with nothing but each other to lean on for support.
Daisy had found her parents, you hadn’t. You didn’t really care about that, however; thought about them? Sure, but you had too much on your plate to care right now about who they were.
Right now, though, all that mattered to them was making sure your lived.
“I found my mother, Y/N.” You smiled at your friends words, genuinely over the moon for her; she’d found her family. After a long search, it had yielded results.
“That’s great.” You said, even though your smile was a little bit pained.
Skye, secretly Daisy at this time, could see the pain in your smile; she grabbed your hands in hers, “Your still my sibling, Y/nn. No matter what. Y/N and Daisy Johnson, how’d that sound?” She offered to you.
“You can’t just give you your name –”
“I can do with it as I wish. You’re my family Y/N, you all are. But, you were first person I got to call that and they stayed.” She told you, firmly.
“What about your parents?” You asked in fear. Daisy only pulled you into a tight and affirming hug.
“I’ll talk to them and explain it to them. Trust me, you’re getting that god damn name, no matter what I have to do to do that.”
Simmons had you on the bed with Lincoln (the actual doctor on the team) helping keep you alive.
“Jesus, what the hell did Daisy do to them?” Lincoln asked as Simmons passed him the tool he needed to continue helping you fight for your life.
“It’s not Daisy.” She reminded the man that had become a good friend of hers, despite some fights and differences of opinion. Plus, having an actual doctor on sight helped alleviate some of the pressure on her shoulders.
“I know,” He assured her as he gave her the tool back and moved onto the next part of the procedure, “It’s just…when we get her back…she’s gonna be crushed.” Jemma knew he was right with his words.
Your words about being there for her when she transitioned popped back into her brain. She couldn’t help but think about the aftermath of all this and what it would do to you both. You, injured, maybe with life-altering injuries; and Daisy, with guilt.
Two of her best friends in the whole world in pain because of each other and nothing she could do apart from, most likely, watch them break. It killed her inside. It truly did.
Daisy Johnson was a fighter, she always had been. But, this was one fight she had ssadly lost. One fight she probably wouldn’t recover from.
So, even as she uttered those words, “I’m coming home.” It was without even an ounce of happiness to them. No, only hatred; self-hatred to the tenth degree. She’d hurt her friends, all of them in different ways. But, only you and Fitz physically.
God, where you even still alive? Shit; no, genuinely, where you still alive?
She walked through the doors that had felt like home so many times a ghost of her former self. Sure, she was free from Hive, but not her actions. Nothing could make up for them.
Especially what she did to you.
The fact that she didn’t see you made it worse; she let tears pool her vision once again at the lack of her best-best-best friend being present on her return.
No one uttered a word, that made it worse. Maybe you were gone; maybe Daisy Johnson had killed you. Maybe she’d broken her promise just like her familial ties with these people.
It was just like the orphanage, only now there was no safety net; no you there to catch her and help her stand up on her own two feet again.
She only kept falling and falling into the void.
The door opened, but she was sure it was just Coulson (again) to try and make her see that all was forgiven and all that bullshit.
However, when she looked up, she saw you. At first, she thought her mind was playing tricks on her, that I was all a lie.
But, then the pod door opened and you stepped into the room.
“No. No, no, no, no, no.” She said as she backed away from you; she, however, didn’t dare raise a hand against you. She wouldn’t do that to you, not again.
“Daisy –” You said softly as you approached your sister, but she back up more as she yelled,
“No! Don’t come any closer!” She couldn’t even meet your eyes. As she looked away, you grabbed her face and forced her to look at you.
“I’m alive, Daisy. I’m not dead.”
“But I hurt you.” She whispered brokenly as she let out a sob as she replayed the beat down she gave you over and over again.
“Hey, hey. It’s ok, it’s ok.” You told her as you pulled her into a hug, despite her resistance to it.
“No, no, no! I hurt you! I hurt you!” She was howling by this point with pain. You only held on tighter as she tried desperately to do anything to get you to let go.
She did anything except the one ability that would make you let go. Her powers.
“Here.” Skye said as she entered the van, handing you the food she’d been able to buy. It wasn’t the best food in the world, but it was enough to see you through.
“Thank you.” You said politely as you ate your chips; she, meanwhile, at her single burger.
“Want some?” You said, earnestly offering them to her. She smiled softly at your offer, shaking her head and pushing them away.
“No, they’re yours.” She told you.
“They’re ours; now, come on.” You assured, pushing them in her direction again.
“No, Y/nn, I’m serious. Eat your food, I’ll eat mine.” She said stubbornly.
You rolled your eyes as you did as she asked you to do, “Why do you do that?” You asked, seemingly out of the blue and with a hint of anger.
“Do what?” She asked, a little defensivly.
“That; give me more food than you?” You clarified.
“I’m older –”
“But hungrier.” You had a point.
“And I will eat something else later when we get to our next stop. I promise, Y/N, I’m fine. But, to answer your question,” She tapped your nose in a teasing but loving fashion, “You nosey little…that’s what family is. Sacrifice, time and time again.”
For once, Daisy was taking her own advice as she sat with you on the bed; you held her hand, but no words were shared between you both.
The others had gone to stop Hive; but, with your injuries, you stayed. Even without them, you would’ve stayed anyway; missing an opportunity to stop the man who had caused you this pain to stay with your sister.
Family meant sacrifice, again and again.
“They’ll stop him.” You told her, to try and lift her spirits.
“Sure they will.” She said, pessimism oozing from her words.
“They will.” You said, firmly.
“How’d you know?” She asked; seemed you’d swapped oldest and youngest sibling for a moment.
“Because I have faith in them. You’re intel wasn’t wasted; you’re home now.” You told her.
“This won’t be my home, not anymore.” She spat.
“And why not?” You asked.
“Because look at what I did, Y/N! Look at what I did to all of you!” She stood up and waved her arms around to get her point across.
“Well then, what’s the plan?” You asked her, taking her completely by surprise. She even opened and closed her mouth a few times at your words.
“What?” She had to ask, she had to be sure that she had heard you correctly.
“I said, “What’s the plan?”?” You repeated your question.
Yup, she’d heard you alright.
“Are you insane?” She snapped at you, desperately wanting you to be joking.
“Daisy,” You said as you grabbed her hand with your free one (with the arm that wasn’t in a sling), “We’re family, we’re always going to be. This hurts like a bitch, sure. But, it wasn’t you. I saw the real you fighting back against it. So, you lost this battle, but not the war. I’ll be with you to fight that war until I can’t anymore.”
Lincoln, someone that had started to become a friend to you, was gone. He had given his life to stop Hive; himself and Daisy almost, almost, had a romantic-ish goodbye.
The moment after their decleration of love, his blip was gone.
As Daisy fell, weeping and begging for it to be turned around despite it being too late. You only watched your sister, knowing you couldn’t do anything as if this moment. But, afterwards, you could.
You both knew each other like the back of your hands. So, you knew her next move. You waited by the hanger door, the only exit to this place. Soon enough, Daisy appeared in more goth like clothing.
“Y/N.” She breathed out your name in shock.
“Hey,” You replied casually as you placed your own bag down on the floor; Daisy approached you, “Van’s out front.” You told her.
“You’re not coming.” She stated, firmly.
“When have us being split up ever worked out in our favour?” Ok, maybe too early for that one. But, the truth of it did hit Daisy, even if it hurt.
“Keys.” She held out her hand; the keys filled them the next moment.
She then picked up both of your bags, “You do what I say, when I say it, got it?” She gave you that older sisterly stare she had from time to time.
You rolled your eyes, “Yes, ma’am.” You gave her a mock salute.
With a breath, she led the way out.
You weren’t going to let her walk this path alone; even if you didn’t fully approve of it. You knew you couldn’t change her mind, just as she couldn’t change your own about coming with her.
You were family. You were family that always found and backed each other up. You’d make sure you both lived up to that. No matter what.

Last Breath-Damon Salvatore Imagine
Requested: No
Warnings: angst and a death scene
Gif is not mine, all credit goes to the original creator
I want to die...I want to die right now! my mind screamed, but all that came out of my mouth was another groan.
Chills swept over my body as well as another wave of heat. For vampires, the werewolf bite was the equivalent of getting the flu and tuberculosis in the same day. For hours, I had been vomitting, shaking, groaning, and----my least favorite----hallucinating. If I had an ounce of strength, I would have ended all of it as soon as that idiot, Tyler, sunk his teeth into my neck. His shocked brown eyes were permanently imprinted in my mind. If he had a choice, I didn’t think that he would have bitten me since we were cordial, but it was his fault that he fell under Klaus’ spell.
Klaus.
I gritted my teeth merely at the thought of the psychopathic hybrid that had been terrorizing me for decades. However, he moved onto my friends since he came to Mystic Falls and while I did my best to protect them, the smirking dolt had centuries on me. The best part of the whole situation is he is the only one who can cure me, but he would never do anything to help me.
“I like watching you writhe,” he once whispered in my ear, “like a mouse caught in a trap, desperately clawing for freedom, but never quite getting there.”
Sadistic piece of----
Damon burst into the bedroom in a blur and was at my side in seconds. He would have looked normal if his short, dark hair was not messier than usual and his black button-down was not so haphazardly buttoned. His ice blue eyes darted around the room for a moment before focusing on me.
“Feeling any better? I guess that’s a stupid question,” he muttered.
“So stupid.”
No one in Mystic Falls would believe that the eldest Salvatore was actually a big softie once one got to him. Though, there was not a doubt in my mind he would rather be downing a bourbon bottle than trying to find another way to help get rid of the venom coursing through my veins because I know I wanted the same.
“I’m going to assume that all efforts to procure the cure were fruitless,” I breathed.
“Caroline is still working on Klaus, Elena is trying to get Rebekah to help, Bonnie and Stefan are researching, and I am trying to find any other hybrids who could help.” Damon pressed his lips together.
“That answers my question.” I tried to roll over to face him better, but Damon put his hand on my back and assisted.
He sat down next to me and moved the y/h/c hair away from my clammy face. Despite my situation, I was vain and did not want one of the most gorgeous men alive to see my dying form. I tried to pull away, but he pulled me in closer.
“You don’t get to try to run away from me, not now,” he said.
He looked down at me with so much concern and sadness. Damon had to know that I was not going to make it out of this one and it was awful because I didn’t want to leave him. We had been through some of the worst moments of modern day history together and I couldn’t truly imagine life without him and I guessed that he felt the same.
“I’ve never run away from you, Damon, but I still have pride in the way I look and I would rather you not see me like this.”
“You are such a southern belle,” Damon teased. “And I don’t care about how you look; I’m spending as much time with you as possible.”
I smiled at the warm feeling pooling at the pit of my stomach and cuddled into Damon’s arms. “That’s sweet, but you avoided the question.”
“Did not.”
“Did too.”
“Did not.”
“Did too.”
“Did not.”
“Damon, I will win this argument anyway, so it is better for you to admit while you’re ahead.”
Damon rolled his eyes but looked down at me. “Y/N, I’ve always thought you were beautiful and no situation could ever change that, but you are so much more than that. You’ve put up with me for sixty years, and with Stefan even longer. Sometimes, I don’t know how you kill the people that we have become friends with, but I know it’s because that you are a good person----the best person I have ever known.”
His words immediately sliced through my heart like a knife. Damon could be so sincere sometimes that it put Stefan’s diary confessions to shame. I wanted to stay with him, feel his arms around me, kiss him, but I also wanted the pain to end. If Damon knew that I wanted to die, it would break him, and I could never forgive myself for hurting the man I loved most. So, I had to keep smiling through it because if I broke, Damon would as well.
I cupped his face with my hands. “Why do you have to be so sweet now?” I pecked his lips, moved to pull away, but Damon held me there. He kissed me back harder and gently pushed me further onto the bed. I kissed back and nipped his bottom lip as I pulled away. “I love you, Damon Salvatore, and you are not a terrible person. You are incredibly loyal, strong, and caring, you only need to let more people in.”
“I don’t want to.”
“You need to.” I kissed him again and let him cuddle me. As I stared in the direction of the window, I was stunned to see a familiar face.
He was tall, slim, and wearing a dark suit that could only be found in a history museum. His hair was clean and y/e/c eyes as shiny as ever, but his expression was stiff.
“Michael?” I whispered. “What are you doing here?”
“You’ll be coming with me soon,” he drawled. “Didn’t want to startle you too much.”
“Y/N?” Damon asked.
Tears brimmed my eyes and I felt my throat begin to constrict. “Michael, I am so sorry. I know those words aren’t enough to even begin to apologize.”
“Y/N.”
Michael walked closer, his expression hardening more. “You’re right, Y/N, it isn’t enough. I have been watching you galavant around the world and kill other people for one hundred and twenty-three years. I have been waitin’ for this moment and it will be sweeter than Mama’s cherry pie.”
I shook my head. “Michael, I didn’t wanna hurt you, honest, and I know I probably deserve every bit of revenge you wanna wreak on me, but you must know that not a day goes by where I would kill to go back and keep you safe?”
“It’s funny hearing you say that, but as soon as you cross, I’ll be waitin’ for ya, and your little abilities ain’t gonna mean a thing here.”
Michael slowly began to fade away and I wanted to grab him, but thanks to the venom and Damon’s grasp, I couldn’t move. I watched the life fade out of my brother for a second time and it made me want to die even more.
“Michael,” I whispered. “Michael, come back, please!”
Damon pulled me into his chest and I cried, shoulders shaking. I couldn’t get the image of Michael’s face paling as I continued drinking from him. If I had any control over myself in that moment, I certainly wouldn’t have done it.
“There you go, darling,” Kol whispered, “that’s a good girl.”
It was another dark night in New Orleans and while most of the people were in clubs, the upper crust of society was attending some congressman’s wife’s autumn gala. The waning noise of the trumpet still rang in my ears as I kept my brother quiet, putting one hand over his mouth, and drinking the life from him. His blood was warm and rich, probably due to the fact that Mama and Father insisted on him having a bloody steak for dinner every night.
No one would have believed that I, Y/N Y/L/N, daughter of Mr. Y/F/N and Mrs. Y/M/N Y/L/N, the socialite, would kill her beloved little brother. But there I was, in the dark forest that accentuated the hundreds of acres the congressman owned, making sure my brother died so that I could live. My inner self was screaming at me to stop, but the new vampire side of me was hungrier than ever. When I stopped, Michael was as white as a sheet. He leaned against the grand oak tree like a ventriloquist doll, waiting for someone to start using him as a puppet. I stared at Michael in awe and shock, but at the same time, I was a zombie under Kol’s spell. Kol, the Mikaelson brother I found so charming and sweet. The one I was considering allowing to court me. He was standing next to me, looking incredibly proud of his work.
“Leave him and come with me. You will not worry about anything that has happened here,” Kol said.
And I didn’t worry for a long time.
“Y/N!” Damon yelled.
I broke out of the flashback and stared up at his concerned gaze. “Michael, he was right there.”
“You have a bad fever, but you’ll be okay.”
“What time is it?” Damon hesitated. “Don’t worry about that.”
“Must be close then.” I winced as more chills and pain ran through me. “Klaus is not gonna give me any kind of cure, no matter what Caroline offers.”
“No, it’s possible---”
“No, it isn’t.” I took a deep breath. “Damon, I never told you this, but Klaus has every reason to let me die.”
“What are you talking about?”
“A few years after Kol turned me, I lived with the Mikaelsons and I knew everything to know about them, including how to kill them or paralyze them for awhile. All of those siblings had white oak stakes to symbolize their union as well as the fact that they were equally threatening to each other.” I hissed as another tremor of pain ran up my spine. “I lived a pretty decent life with them: nice clothes, fresh blood, high society parties and it was nice for a while. One day, I overheard Klaus telling Kol to get rid of me, that I was too much of a liability. Of course, Kol agreed with his older brother but wanted to take me out in his own way. I was foolish enough to think we were friends.”
“What did you do?”
“I left them as quickly as I could and stole Kol’s white oak stake. That night, I killed this young woman Klaus was seeing at the time while she slept and woke him up by stabbing him through the heart with Kol’s stake.” I sighed. “Of course, I did not let Kol get off easy either, and I took one of Klaus’ silver stakes and ran it through him. He probably thought it was Klaus’ doing since he went through a phase of paralyzing his siblings whenever he was having a mood.”
“You killed Klaus?” Damon whispered.
“Technically, but of course, he couldn’t stay dead. When he came back, I knew he was going to get revenge on me somehow and Klaus always loved being dramatic in his cruelty.”
Suddenly, I started coughing violently and Damon’s grip tightened around me. When I pulled away, I realized black blood covered my hands.
“I’ll kill him,” Damon swore.
“That is sweet, but you will have to get in line. Klaus has about a dozen enemies for each year that he’s lived.” I brushed my finger along Damon’s cheek. “But I am grateful for the Mikaelsons since if they had not turned me, I would have never met you in New York all those years ago.”
Damon smirked. “That was a good night, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, until you almost got us thrown out of the bar for that fight.”
“The guy deserved it.”
We spent a long time simply talking about old memories and I think it was to help Damon cope more than me. On the other hand, talking about the past was a decent distraction from the pain. As the sky grew darker, I was feeling weaker, but the last thing I wanted was for Damon to sense this.
“I am so sorry, Y/N,” Stefan said as he walked into the room with Bonnie trailing behind him.
“The only thing we could find was a spell that may help you live a few hours longer,” Bonnie admitted with the smallest of smiles.
“May? So, it could kill her for all you know?” Damon snapped.
I placed my hand on Damon’s chest and shushed him. “They did their best, Damon.”
Bonnie walked over and sat next to me. “I’m going to miss you so much, you made everyone and everything sane.”
“You all will be fine,” I said, squeezing her hand gently.
“Damon, we need to talk,” Stefan said gently.
“We can talk here.”
“Not about this.”
“Oh, go talk to your brother, I’ll still be here when you get back.”
Damon didn’t look convinced, but kissed the top of my head before reluctantly following Stefan out of the room. I turned to Bonnie and smiled.
“I’ll never forget the first day we met,” Bonnie said.
“I don’t think I will either; you and Elena thought that I was with Stefan and didn’t believe me until Damon showed up and declared that I was his girlfriend.” I cringed slightly at the memory, making Bonnie laugh. “But I do remember that I sensed that magic in you before you sensed it yourself, not to sound cheesy or anything. You are a skilled witch, Bonnie, and you need to stick around the group because they need you so much more than they’ll admit right now.”
Tears welled up in Bonnie’s round brown eyes. “Why do you have to be so nice as you’re dying?”
“You say that as though I wasn’t nice when I was alive,” I teased.
“Damon’s going to go insane without you.”
“No, he’s not, because you are going to keep him in check, it’ll be a team effort but I think you’ll help the most.”
It was a terrible kind of funny how people did not recognize their worth and someone else had to tell them. Bonnie was going to be the most important part of the group even though she had always been; she was simply unappreciated. Caroline would definitely prove that she was more than a pretty blonde because she had so much more intelligence than she let on. Then, there was Stefan, who wanted to do so much better than Damon and be so much better than he used to be. Something told me that somewhere along the way, the two brothers’ roles would reverse and the only one who could help pick up those pieces was Elena.
Elena.
There was so much strife surrounding her and it extended to anyone who was near her. I hoped that she would stop playing the damsel in distress and take ownership of her life. Even though they are immortal, Stefan and Damon could not always be there for her.
Somewhere along the line, I entered a fog with Bonnie and the whole room seemed cloudy, as though I was just waking up from a long sleep and my eyes had not adjusted to the room. I could not tell whether or not I had told Bonnie all my thoughts or kept them to myself.
Then, someone else entered the room and they were wearing a lot of perfume.
“You have a vistor,” Stefan said.
“My, my, Y/N, you look bloody awful.” I blinked and saw the hazy outline of straight blonde hair.
“Rebekah, what are you doing here?”
“Leave us, I want to have a final talk with her.”
“It’s fine,” I said when no one started moving.
Rebekah refused to speak until the door closed behind the last person. “How long did you think Nik was going to let you live after the stunt you pulled?”
“There is no telling with him,” I said.
“I must say, your actions towards my brothers were heinous and I hate you for what you did to them.”
“I only did what you could not.”
“Excuse me?” Rebekah hissed.
“You would always threaten them, but never act, I acted because my life was in danger, but you’re their sister, the worst they would have done is paralyze you, but bring you back. Now, I am lying here, slowly losing my vision and my life.”
“It was your own doing.”
“Did you come to see me just put more salt on the wound?”
Rebekah hesitated. “No, I came to tell you that I admired what you did all those years ago, that foolish courage that I never thought could come from a southern debutante. In another life, perhaps we could have been friends.”
“Perhaps, but you Mikaelsons typically travel light.”
“We make exceptions. You know, I did quite enjoy you for those few hundred years as did Kol.”
“Thank you, but Kol enjoys anyone who will kill with him.”
“Goodbye, Y/N.”
“Goodbye, Rebekah.”
When she left, Damon came back in and knelt at my side. “You can’t see anymore?”
“No, but I don’t think it matters too much.” I sighed. “Midnight is coming faster than I thought it would.”
“There is still time to get the cure,” Damon said.
“Even if I were to get it, Klaus will not stop until he thinks he has gotten revenge on me and hurt me as much as he believes I hurt him.”
“I don’t want you to go,” Damon muttered, framing my face with his hands. “I love you.”
“I love you too and I would stay if I could, but I can’t.” I felt tears burning, itching to come out, but I forced myself to remain calm. “Promise me that you won’t let yourself fall into a dark place again, I need you to be happy, you can live without me, you’ve done it before.”
“That was different, I didn’t care about anyone but myself, but then you came along and...and you made me feel human again. I was so happy and now, the one thing that makes me feel human and sane is being taken away from me.”
“Promise me, Damon, I need you to promise me.”
“I promise.” He kissed me.
“When the veil thins, I will be here to visit you, everyone, really.”
“You better.”
As the time drew closer, I kept having more immersive memories. At one point, I was back in Florence with Kol and we were taking turns ferociously drinking from bar maids. At another point, I was dancing in Miami in the 1940s with some girls I’d met. Then, I was sent back to when I was six and learning how to horseback ride in the fields with my brother, my father, and Timothy, the instructor my parents had hired. Every time I came back to reality, I felt sicker and sicker. Bonnie, Stefan, and Elena hung around the room, but Damon was the only one who stayed inside. I could hear them murmuring about me and speculating what Caroline could be up to at that moment, but I did not care about the cure. I wanted to die, I wanted the suffering to end, but I knew that if I did it on my own accord, it would damage everyone else around me and I did not want to hurt them in my last moments.
“What time is it?” I asked.
“Five minutes to midnight,” Damon whispered, holding me against his chest.
“We had a good run, didn’t we?”
“Yes, but I will get you back as soon as possible.”
“I do not think that is a possibility for me.”
I kissed him one last time as my vision grew darker, tasting the saltiness from his tears on my lips. When I pulled away, my vision was fully restored and I was in a crowded bar in Manhattan. Little Richard was blaring from a jukebox and everyone was dressed to the nines. I looked down and saw that I was wearing my favorite white cap-sleeved dress with red cherries on it. I pushed my way past the droves of people and sat down at the bar. The bartender leaned over to me.
“I’d like a gin and tonic please,” I said.
“Comin’ right up, sugar.”
“Nice dress,” someone said behind me.
I turned and came face to face with the most startling blue eyes I’d ever seen. When I blinked, I saw that they wre perfectly suited for the owner’s chiseled face. Instead of being slicked back, his short dark hair was falling into his eyes. He wore a black leather jacket and black jeans, but not like a greaser, more like Elvis but cooler.
“You like cherries?”
“Only when they’re on that dress, on you.” I smirked. “How many times have you used that line?”
“Just once on you.” The stranger sat next to me.
“I did not say that you could sit next to me.”
“How else am I supposed to get to know the pretty girl in the pretty dress?”
“You think you are quite smooth.”
“So they tell me.”
“Here’s your gin and tonic,” the bartender said as he slid the glass in front of me.
“Put it on my tab, along with whatever else she drinks tonight,” he smirked at me.
“Thank you...”
“Damon.”
“Y/N.”
While I usually did not entertain flirtations like this, there was something about this handsome stranger that told me this was something quite different.
When Y/N’s body went cold and limp, Damon could hardly keep it together. The light was no longer in those y/e/c eyes that could see through everything anad everyone. The color was drained from her y/s/c face and would not come back unless they figured something out. At the very least, Y/N looked peaceful and Damon could have sworn that he saw a smile on her y/m/s lips. Tears freely flowed down his face and all he wanted to do was scream, yell, and kill someone, but that’s not what Y/N would have wanted. After a long time, Damon managed to compose himself and tuck Y/N into the bed they shared. He walked out of the room and faced his brother and his brother’s friends.
“She’s gone,” he muttered.
“I’m so sorry, Damon,” Stefan said as he patted his shoulder.
“Not as sorry as Klaus will be when I get my hands on him.”
“We’ll worry about Klaus some other time, it’s okay to grieve,” Bonnie said.
Damon nodded absentmindedly and went downstairs to the bar to pour himself a drink. The others followed and spread themselves out throughout the living room, observing his actions carefully. The silence was heavy and awkward since no one knew exactly what to say.
“I can’t believe she’s really gone,” Elena whispered and allowed Stefan to wrap his arm around her shoulders.
Suddenly, Caroline burst through the door, eyes searching the room until they landed on her friends. “There you are! Why haven’t you guys been answering your phones? I have good news.”
“Not now, Care,” Bonnie said.
“What do you mean? I finally got Klaus to give up the cure.” Caroline held up the vial of blood as though it was a badge of honor instead of a badge of tragedy.

alright let’s get a little more in-depth here and sort out who to root for. working backwards this time.
Raven: likes frankie grande. PASS. like the idea that she’s not afraid to make big moves, but lbh that doesn’t mean squat unless and until she actually goes through with it. the all female ghost hunting team thing is cool though it better come up in the show i demand to know about this.
Ramses: superfan, loves dan (which...okay i never actually saw dan’s season i really only know him from the coaches twist and even then i didn’t really pay attention to him? but anyway i know from the fandom that this is a good sign), he wants to do that SUPER SMART DANIELLE THING of having a person on the other side of the house and keeping track of it that way. that being said, his strategy is a little...TOO thought-out. with a game like big brother you have to be ready to make adjustments and think on your feet, and i’m not sure he’ll be able to do that if necessary. HEY HE IS the obligatory gay man...and a gay man of color at that. which....okay let’s be honest, big brother does not have the best track record when it comes to games of gmoc (Marcellas, Lawon, JOZEA, among others). buuuuuuuut....i’m willing to stick my neck out once more. KEEP.
Megan: eugh she likes frank victor and paul which like...okay tbf i kinda understand from a game perspective because they did pull some interesting moves (and ngl paul’s gameplay was always a bit like how i imagine i would play). but i think she likes them as ppl too which...no. also she says she doesn’t wanna be like vanessa???? THE SIRENS GOING OFF AT THAT STATEMENT. she ain’t gonna last. PASS. oh my god and then later in her bio “ At the same time, there is always that whiny, crying girl that just can't handle the pressures of the house. I would make her my friend and my secret ally. This is the only person in the house I will be loyal to. I'll take her to Final 2 and, since she didn't do anything the whole time, I'll win.” like girl....that’s gonna be you lmao. also she wants to buddy up with a gym-partner guy? can we say obvious showmancer? look if she can back it up with some comp wins then maybe she could pull a rachel but i just don’t see that happening. she literally says she’s gonna play scared which like...yea you’re never for sure safe in the bb house but she is literally gonna go down the vanessa path.
Matthew: HE LIKES DONNY. HE IS IN MY GOOD GRACES. he wants to align with the women too??? tentative KEEP because the fact that he says donny is a good person makes me want to trust that he, too, is a good person. but i’ve been burned before, and besides, as great as it would be to see a mainly female alliance with one guy, so far the girls aren’t impressing me much, so i don’t have high hopes for that.
Mark: you know it makes sense he likes brendon. so yea, definite showmance material. possibly with megan too actually. honestly not impressed. PASS.
Kevin: he doesn’t even have a favorite player he just “met derrick once” lol man u are DEFINITELY not gonna win. unless he can adapt quickly which...is unlikely. “I was Mr. Massachusetts and also won a hunk contest” okay buddy. also he’s all like “being myself will probably work everytime” dude if u don’t win that first hoh u are easy target number one. PASS. probably nice but will not win. no chance in hell. unless something MAJOR happens.
Josh: like evel dick so....look, i’ll be honest, i was very young when season 8 was on so like...idr all the stuff that dick pulled, i mostly know from posts in the fandom. but at the time, i was a huge fan of him, and was thrilled he won. and i mean, he did at least have some gameplay, unlike other despicable ppl in later seasons (*cough* andy). so i mean from a gameplay standpoint, i can see why someone would want to emulate dick’s game. however, i think it would require stealthier manipulation than josh thinks. and the fact that he didn’t need to be on anybody’s good side? nice thought and all, but if he didn’t have danielle and her alliances, he would have never made it as far as he did. you HAVE to have someone in your corner, even just one person. josh underestimates the power of alliance and is probably gonna end up being like a paulie. eugh. PASS. sidenote: dude wants to bring his mom in the house not because he would miss her but so she would cook and clean for him???? LOL FUCK THIS GUY i hate him already. his fun facts aren’t even fun facts they’re just personality traits lmao
Jillian: worried about saying the wrong thing? could be a bad sign or just innocent. i am intrigued by her answers though, so a tentative KEEP.
Jessica: janelle/natalie hybrid? could be interesting and if she says she sees herself in janelle that’s VERY promising. less promising is that she wants to align with a guy. could very easily get sidetracked by showmance. hopeful though, so tentative KEEP.
Jason: oh god almost forgot anbout hfajlfhghfskh RODEO CLWON JfHASFJFlshAL. ahem. he likes James which...tbh i liked him too. look if he’s good enough for natalie then he’s decent enough for me. anyway, i fricking love jason’s answer about his strategy: “yes” that’s it that’s all he says I LOVE IT. also he has a bull??? WE BETTER SEE IT IN THE SHOW. i don’t expect him to win but he seems an interesting person so....KEEP. for now.
Elena: likes james and thinks the strategy is situational aKA THE TRUTH. seems like she might actually be able to play the game???? which seems unheard of nowadays. can’t get a real idea of her character but for gameplay i’ll go with a KEEP for now.
Dominique: “nor do i shy away from controversy” is again something that could go either way and instantly makes me cautious. but let’s look at gameplay. she says she’ll take mental notes of everyone and be observant, and she can read ppl really well, so i want to think she’ll do well. but her indecision over a fave past houseguest is something that makes me take pause as well. screw it, KEEP for now. i’m curious to see what she can do.
Cody: seems smart and obviously physically capable....BUT something in his answers rubs me the wrong way. his reasoning for picking evel dick is something i can agree with, but his strategy is, once again, too airtight. where is the wiggle room? look it’s true the basic building blocks of big brother are generally the same every season but you never know what could get changed. also he’s all like “i’ve never taken a selfie” you’ve never taken a picture of yourself? ever? that seems unlikely but it’s whatever aside from assumed pretentiousness. HOWEVER the real big flag is “i have never been offended not once” buddy that is a DAMNED lie and i caNNOT WAIT until he gets pissy about something in the house and the fandom calls him out on it lmao oh anyway PASS.
Christmas: oh my god she chose HELEN. HELEN OF ALL PEOPLE. THIS IS A GOOD SIGN. idk man i’m very hopeful about this one the fave houseguest is a good sign and i want to like christmas for it....also because her picture is gorgeous but like. she chose HELEN. like im sorry but i feel like most ppl wouldn’t even think of helen. maybe christmas can align with that guy who likes donny??? YES I LIKE THIS. anyway KEEP.
Cameron: well of COURSE his fave is ian like how damn predictable can u be. also he just reminded me of ginamarie and the fact that she won an hoh at some point (how???). that being said, the fact that he’d just tell people that someone is going after them?? bad plan. unless there’s ANY truth to it, but if he pulls it out of his ass he’s going to end up imploding his own game. PASS, not just for meh gameplay but also because he bores me. (seriously i’m so tired of ian clones none of them have been anywhere near as good or interesting why are we still doing this)
Alex: “i can manipulate anyone, including boys” aka she will probably start a showmance. idk with who and tbh idc. her fun facts are actual, legitimate fun facts, and she seems nice, but i don’t get good gameplay vibes. PASS, but i hope she surprises me.

MY BB19 CAST OPINIONS
Down below you can find my detailed opinions on the BB19 cast. This was written after I read their bios and watched their interviews with Jeff, Ika’s opinions and interviews did not influence these particular opinions (I might write new ones that will be influenced by Ika’s interviews but we’ll see).
Alex Ow: While she does remind me of Natalie (BB18), I think it's mostly fake. She just comes off as someone who tries way too hard to me and I think that it's just not her true personality. I think she's a huge fan of Nicole (BB16, BB18) and is trying to be just like her and is thus copying the "cute, bubbly, awkward" personality thing that Nicole had going, but Nicole was also good at playing the game, and I don't think Alex is gonna be. However, if the houseguests don't see how fake she is, she might go far 'cause they could like her. Her strategy, though, is an exact copy of Nicole's and I don't think it's a good idea to copy the strategy of the previous winner.
Cameron Heard: Even though he does seem like he's very cheerful, upbeat, and friendly, when you really listen to what he has to say he comes off as a bit conceited or even mean. If the other houseguests don't notice this though, I expect him to do very well. He's obviously a superfan who knows a lot about the game, he has a good strategy, and is crazy smart which is never a bad thing. His disadvantage could be certain physical challenges. He did say he snowboards, scuba dives, and stuff, so he might be good at endurance, but he also ended up in the hospital after wrestling, twice, so it seems he doesn't have much strength. But again, I think it all comes down to his social game and we'll just see what that'll be like.
Christmas Abbott: Christmas might be my favorite this season. She seems like such an honest, open, friendly, and cheerful person. Despite that, however, I have to admit that I don't see her getting very far in the game. She doesn't seem to know much about it and her strategy is very basic. I can see her being sort of like Tiffany (BB18); a preseason favorite who is expected to do great things, but then ends up flopping and getting evicted pre-jury. People might see her as a threat, especially a physical one, and she's gonna need a truly great social game to get far in this game. Also, we share a birthday, which is just an immediate point in my book.
Cody Nickson: I think that, if one was to mix Paulie (BB18) and Corey (BB18) into one person, they'd get Cody. He seems like the type of guy who will be dominant in the house and will generally be well liked, much like Paulie, but he also seems a little airheaded like Corey. Much like the two of them, he will probably get in a showmance and all-male alliance. When I read his bio, I really liked him and thought he had hidden smarts and a good strategy and would surprise everyone by going far in the game, but I wasn't so sure after the interview. Even though Paulie was liked in the beginning, he became kinda psycho later on and everybody hated him, and I can see a similar thing happening to Cody. He's either gonna get evicted pre-jury or be in the Final 5. He also seems sort of heartless, which could either be an advantage or a disadvantage.
Dominique Cooper: I honestly really love her. She's my preseason fav next to Christmas. I think she's a nice mix of Natalie and Zakiyah (BB18). Her social game is definitely gonna be strong, but I'm afraid that she's gonna actually turn into Zakiyah; get into a showmance and drop her game because of him, and then float her way to jury. If this doesn't happen, she might not even make it to jury because she doesn't seem to know much about the game or have a great strategy planned out. I do hope she surprises me and kicks everyone's butts, but I don't think we'll be seeing much of her.
Elena Davies: Even though I didn't like her much when I read her bio, she grew on me after I saw her interview. I kind of think that she and I have similar personalities, and relatability is something that I like finding in people. I can see her finding a best female friend and the two of them being the Zakiyah and Da'Vonne (BB17, BB18) of this season. She might try to be super nice and charming at first, but people will start noticing that she can be a bitch later on in the season (as she said herself, she can be abrasive). I don't think she'll be very popular among the female castmates and I see her getting evicted in early jury due to her lack of strategy.
Jason Dent: I definitely think that Jason is unpredictable. I either see him as the class clown whom everyone loves and wants to make an F2 deal with, or the annoying guy who gets evicted fast. I think he seems to have a great personality and could also probably be good at the physical competitions, so it's a shame that he's not very well versed in the game and doesn't have a strategy planned out 'cause I see a little bit of Derrick (BB16) in him and think he could win if he had the smarts, which he unfortunately doesn't seem to have.
Jessica Graf: I feel like Jessica will not be very liked by the female houseguests. She is obviously a huge flirt and I think they'll see her as a threat on more than one level and will want to get her out fast. She also doesn't have a good strategy developed, so unless she aligns herself with the guys, I don't see her making it to jury. And even if she does align herself with them, she's obviously not gonna win. I think she's sort of a Tiffany and Natalie lovechild and will be a quieter Natalie who then gets evicted around the same time Tiffany did.
Jillian Parker: Even though I liked Jillian's strategy at first, I realized how dumb it was when I gave it some thought. She plans to be loyal to the guys and then show them that she's actually a brilliant mastermind, but that would only make them want to get her out even more; and surely they'd choose their bros over her. I think she's very hard to predict, and while I don't dislike her as much as most people do, I don't think she'll make a huge impact on anyone and I see her leaving early on or just floating through the game and then going out in a double eviction, Bridgette (BB18) style. She could definitely become someone's Cabbage Patch Kid.
Josh Martinez: Am I the only one who thinks that Josh is kind of a psycho? Lmao, but seriously, that guy scares me. He's kind of like a giant, rude ape who's just gonna crush everyone to get what he wants. He is another contestant who reminds me of Paulie, but I think that he will show his true colors early on unlike Paulie, people will hate him, and he'll get evicted fast. There is somewhat of a likability factor there since he has a very outgoing personality, and I think he's gonna be good at the physical comps and maybe even the mental ones, but none of it will matter when he starts being rude and loud, and I can guarantee he's gonna do that.
Kevin Schlehuber: I sort of see Kevin as the fun dad type of the group. I think everybody's gonna love him and respect him and nobody's gonna wanna evict him. I can see him making jury, but I definitely don't see him winning. Of course, the show is very unpredictable, so it could go in a completely different direction and he could get evicted pre-jury due to the younger people being intimidated by him. I think he's definitely an interesting one and I'm anxious to see where the show takes him.
Mark Jansen: He's the most precious thing! I seriously think he's so adorable and such a good guy and I just love him. I think he's gonna be the Corey to Cody's Paulie and that he's gonna get into a showmance. While he does strongly remind me of Corey, I like him much more and I'm seriously rooting for him even though I don't actually see him winning. I do see him getting far though, especially since he has a sad backstory that people are just gonna eat up.
Matthew Clines: He has been my favorite right from the start. I think he's a very smart guy, he is a physical threat, he has a great social game, and overall is a promising candidate. I see him being allied with the girls (which is something he said he wants to do) and ending up in a showmance with one of them and then the two of them going to F2. I think he's my overall preseason favorite to win, and I just hope he doesn't disappoint me. I see some Paul (BB18) in him, which is an amazing quality and I hope he doesn't pull a Frank (BB14, BB18) and turns out to be a creep.
Megan Lowder: Even though I absolutely hated her based on her bio, I liked her based on her interview. She can swear in Bosnian which is absolutely amazing and she's a fan of the Harry Potter series, and us Potterheads need to stick together. My prediction is that she and Elena are gonna become best friends, with Megan being the dominant one. After Elena gets evicted, Megan will become even stronger and possibly even make it to F2. She has her strategy planned out in detail, which I don't think is the best idea because you never know what you're gonna get. There are definitely some bad things about her personality and I can see people disliking her, but we'll just have to wait and see because her social game is very hard to predict.
Ramses Soto: What a cutie! I seriously think he's such a fun and positive guy and I want him to get far. I kinda see him getting into an alliance with Cameron and just being this ultra powerful nerd duo and I'd like to see that happen, but I think that teaming up with a good physical player such as Mark would be a great move for him as he seems to have a great social game and he's very smart, but not that athletic. I'm also really hoping that his bubbly personality won't have a counter-effect and annoy people. He has a great strategy planned out, and unlike Megan, he's aware that he might need to change it, which is a good thing. I can see him getting very far if he creates the right alliances, but I don't think I see him winning.
Raven Walton: Raven gives me Meech (BB18) vibes, except she's a lot bubblier. We do have a lot of bubbly contestants this year, but she's the only one whom I find slightly annoying. She said she's gonna tone it down for the actual show, and I hope she does this. I still don't see her getting far though, and I think there's a chance she could get evicted pre-jury just to due to her annoying personality. If this doesn't happen, she will definitely be a floater and, just like I said with Jillian, I can see her becoming a Cabbage Patch Kid. We'll see what happens though, she's a tough one to crack. I can see her being the best at endurance and memory comps, which is a good thing.

Hi there ^^ I’d like to request a ship with BTS. Thanks~
My name is Elena and I’m 18 years old. I’m 1.65 m (5.42 feet I think) tall and I have dark red hair and brown eyes. I also have a tattoo and 8 piercings. I have a curvy, sexy silhouette, and my style can go from homeless tomboy to sexy model or cutie pie. I like wearing dark colors (mostly black and burgundy), black jeans and t-shirts. I’m a geek, gamer, otaku and kpoper, and I love sports (I go to gym a lot and I love swimming and playing basketball). I’m also pretty athletic and a good dancer. I’m really good at cooking and baking. I practiced karate a lot when I was younger and people describe me as “pretty badass”. I love music, drawing and art in general and I’m pretty good with make-up too. Even though I may seem tough and fearless (which is not too far from the truth lol), I can also be cute, gentle, sweet and very nice once you get to know me well. I’m an introvert and I suffer of social anxiety and depression, but when it comes to my best friends I’m a loud, talkative and hilarious person and I enjoy making people laugh, especially with my weird and random comments or actions. I enjoy going out for a walk at night (like really late) and doing “dangerous” stuff like going to adventure parks, bungee jumping, sky diving etc. I forgive people easily and I can get attached to someone quickly. I’m very 4D, clumsy and clueless. I’m mostly in my own world, but despite this, I can be mature, very smart and responsible when I have to be. Also, most of my friends call me “mom” because usually I am the one taking care of other people. I swear and cuss a lot and I don’t care what people say and/or think about me. I’m confident with who I am and I won’t change myself just to please others. I’m daring and I always speak my mind, but I’m a genuine, loyal friend, and I love helping people the best I can, even though I really enjoy being alone. I’m very interested in psychology (I’m an INFJ) and astrology (I’m a cusp, half Gemini, half Taurus (mostly Taurus actually), and my ascendant/raising sign is Cancer). I hate cute and cringy stuff, people that lie or complain a lot, fake people that try to control me or order me around (I like and need to feel independent), that don’t care much about others’ feelings. I also hate things like being in social situations, crowded places etc.
P.S. Sorry if the writing part is too much, I really don’t know how to put all that in brief. I’m quite complicated lol. Also I hope the collage is ok.
Hey, sorry this took so long! I ship you with
Suga!
I think Suga would dig a girl that is good at so many things and is a bit of a ‘badass’! He’d respect you for your independence, honest attitude and your tattoo and piercings [because they are a symbol of who you are].
Since you have quite a few common hobbies, you would probably meet each other not through a friend but through your hobbies and many coincidental encounters would build up on top of another before you notice each other a little -- quite sassy encounters at that since you would both speak your minds always.
Playing basketball at the same place -- [like a leisure center or gym weekly] -- “Hey! Watch where you’re going!”, “Maybe you should move about if you don’t want people running into you, idiot”
I think that’s Suga lmao I just wanted a gif to match the theme
Ending up shopping for clothes in the same place -- “Really? That skirt with that shirt?”, “Oh and I suppose you’re Mr Fashion Expert with all those different shade of black in your basket?” and many shopping trips would take a similar turn when you’re both at the same place at the same time, so in a music store -- “Your taste in music is almost as bad as your taste in clothes”, “
and eventually, at some cinema or bowling alley, you’d get to the arcades where none of your friends want to go against you on a multiplayer game and just as they are walking away and you plan to follow behind in defeat, you’d get a tap on your shoulder -- “Hey, klutz, how about it?”
And then you’d realise (not straight away though) that actually, all these ‘insults’ and sass was just his way of trying to keep your attention because he’s had a crush on you since after the first few encounters and he’s just been hesitant to talk to you in any other way because you seem so out-going and fearless compared to him.
But that would all change one night in the near future when you decide to go for a late walk and you come across him sitting on some cold stone wall just writing and you basically ask each other why you’re where you and and why you’re doing the things you’re doing and this is where you each open up a little more, leading up to him kinda asking you out sometime, but he’d do it coolly because similarly to you, he also doesn’t do the whole cringy thing.
However, once in a relationship with him, you guys would always look after each other and engage in one another’s interests and dreams. I think Suga in particular would be good with someone that has social anxiety and depression because I just think he would generally understand, know the right words to say and the things to do to make you feel better, having gone through mental troubles himself in the past, I believe.
There’d be plenty of witty remarks, blunt replies and honesty still, but it would never affect you guys in the long run, always managing to resolve arguments simply through realizing that it’s just that you’re too alike in the way that you often speak your minds.
The amazing thing about you two would be that although neither of you really change for one another, you still have this amazing chemistry and the personalities you both possessed beforehand work really well together, even if sometimes you might end up being a bit too energetic for him! The stuff you already had in common was enough and you respect each other’s differences.
A mature relationship with plenty of humour, even if it’s not conventional humour or a conventional attidutude towards one another, and there’d never be a dull day because there’d always be something to do!

Ferrante Fever: "My Brilliant Friend" Review
A personal review of the Elena Ferrante Series, stories of my experiences in Naples, and travel tips for those wanting to explore more into the series and this city of contridictions.
“I just thought you knew more about Naples history, that’s all.”
This is what my colleague casually pointed out to me as we were walking the streets of this crazy “wild child” of a city early this year.
Baffled I looked at them speechless. What is it I didn’t know exactly?
I always have felt pretty confident wandering around Naples. Although I’ve never been one for history (thankfully we work with a local team in Naples and 100’s of guides throughout Italy to share this these important facts with our guests).
However, I felt pretty confident with the deep connection I have with this city over many others in Italy.
No I did not grow up like the fictional characters, Elena Greco or Lila Cerullo of “My Brillant Friend.” And no I didn’t have a Neapolitan mother, family, or even grow speaking Italian (although most of the older generation of my family did).
However, I spent a lot of my 20’s and 30’s so far immersed and intrigued by the city of Naples, it became almost an addiction. You may have heard me speak about this on Instagram or read a bit about this in my blog, “My Favorite City in Italy.”
Like many others, I used to be fearful of the city.
Then I finally took the time to explore the city and spend significant time trying to see it as a local point of view. I felt proud the day I had finally beaten my fear of Napoli. As well as confident enough to share my thoughts and knowledge on the city. Yet, at this moment, when my friend made this comment I started to question myself. Maybe I didn’t really know the Napoli as well as I thought.
This is when I decided to take another approach. I’ve already been visiting the city for years. Everything, I learned was from my local friends (who work in the travel business there in the city center) or my ex’s family. So I had to think outside the box. I decided, my winter mission in NY was to finally dive into the Ferrante series. Since this was based in Naples and people were coming to the city just for this, I figured this could be the answer!
In 2017 when “living” in Naples for a month, I have already tried to read these novels, several times to be exact. I’ve tried immersing myself with a glass of Aglianico wine in my temporary apartment near Piazza Borsa. I also would try to set the mood by picking a sunny spot on the Lungomare in Chiaia and Mergellina. I’ve even tried escaping the city out on a summer Saturday, like many others locals do in the summer, to read while on the beaches of Sorrento. While I was out of the city I had a great view of Mt. Vesuvius so I figured I would still feel inspired.
I thought the mood would make me appreciate the series more. Yet, no matter what I did or how I tried to trick my mind, I just couldn’t get into it. “Molto pesante,” my Neapolitan colleague and friend once said to me. “Cassie, I think it’s too heavy for you. Please try to take your time, chapter by chapter until you get it.”
Eventually I gave up and moved on to a book that was more cheerful and romantic. This was until the series “My Brillant Friend” was launched on HBO. Then the “Ferrante Fever” finally began to hit me.
As I mentioned earlier I am not Neapolitan. I was born in New York to a family of a 1st generation Sicilian father. I obtained my dual citizenship, from the small town of my nonna in Agrigento. However, somehow after the passing of my father, Italy became my life. And shortly after that it brought me right to the Campania and Naples area.
When in NY, I found myself spending most holidays and dinners with family friends from Avellino and Campania. Then in my early 20’s I spent time as a tour leader in Italy. Eventually and most likely not coincidentally, I was assigned to the area of Campania and the Amalfi Coast. I later returned backed to NY to only meet and then almost marry a Neapolitan pizzaiolo.
When that relationship ended I started my business and new life. I moved half my year to Italy only to meet a family in Naples that wanted work as my main partner in Italy. This is when I realized although I had travelled all 20 Regions of Italy and there were plenty of places to immerse myself, there was no escaping Naples .
Getting back to my point, this is probably why the Elena Ferrante novels intrigued me so much.
LET’S GET TO THE REVIEW
While I haven’t finished the book series, I still feel confident enough to share my review. I realized this may be one case where the TV/Movie version is better (personally for me) to understand the story and author.
My point of writing this article is to share my thoughts on this series as someone who has experienced Neapolitan life a girlfriend, colleague, straniera (aka: a foreigner acting as a local trying really hard to fit in) and now travel planner. I always see myself as “Half Italian” and “Half American” (not Italian American) so it’s also really fun for me to share my perspective from that point of view as well!
Below you will find my thoughts. You will also find information on how you can see and experience some of the “Ferrante Fever” while in Naples this coming year.
IT WAS ELENA (LENU`) THAT DREW ME in. NOT LILA
Those who have read the book, understand that everything is really about Lila. Lila was Elena’s best friend, sort of mentor, and worst enemy (in some aspects).
Her personality was contradictory. Lila was soft but tough, strong but gentle. She was and is the representatives of how I see many Neapolitans to be. This is why like many others, once they introduced Lila I wanted to know more about the book and the story behind the characters.
While Lila set the tone, I became more intrigued by the role of Elena or as they called Lenu`. I always felt sorry for her. She was trying to survive in a dishonest and harsh environment. She did her best to fit in, be strong, take care of herself, and be loyal to family (especially her difficult mother) and Lila.
I immediately felt I needed to support and root for her on throughout the series.
While the girls naturally became my focus, I have to say the other actors were fantastic too. For those who were unaware, get this! Most of these stars were first time actors and actresses. With Ferrante’s stern request, they aimed to find local young people from the region of Campania. I was highly impressed with that they created. And just a #funfact I did find out a colleagues’s family member is a friend of the “Marcello.”
THE DIALECT
Another draw to this show was the Neapolitan dialect. The series is all in Italian with the spontaneous burst of Neapolitan here and there. English speakers do not fear! They include subtitles for each episode.
I was surprised but at the same time not surprised how much of the dialect I understood (without the subtitles). Napolitano was a “language” I spent 8 years of my life trying to understand. While watching I was having flashbacks of all kinds.
One one of my flashbacks that stood out the most was from 2009. During my tour leader days we would spend almost every Friday on the island of Capri from May - September. I became friendly with some of the locals and they always made sure to start my morning with a laugh and/or a lesson.
I could hear the boat captains in Capri (Pasquale and Gianluca) screaming the words into my ear (You know how many people do that with language, thinking if you scream louder you can hear more)?
“Vott o carr pa scesa, VOTT-O-CARR-SCESCA.” I never did pronounce it right nor did I fully understand if it meant go with the flow or take it easy. Either way, the phrase and that memory only came back to me while watching Lenu` on the island of Ischia during episode 6.
It’s about Naples beyond Spaccanapoli
Spaccanapoli is a very cool, important, and must see area of Naples. In fact the city center of Naples is a UNESCO World Heritage site. So I am not taking any credit away from it’s importance. It’s gritty, curious, and full of good food and local life. It’s amazing to visit and many of our guests want to see it during their first visit to Naples too. However, most people do not realize there is a lot of Neapolitan life beyond this area.
The series instead brings you to a side of town which probably would never be known otherwise.
Ferrante also brings you through some of the central areas and historic sites such as Galleria Umberto and Piazza del Plebiscito showing you that Naples is not all gritty and chaos. In fact, during the show Lenu`, Lila, and friends get to experience a very rare walk through the chic and wealthy stories and sites of the area. Naples is and was full of different kinds of lifestyles. And this is why I always encourage our guests to get a little taste of each part of the city during a visit (if possible in their schedule).
Many feared that Ferrante’s stories would bring more fear to Naples. And as she suspected, it did the opposite. Her honest and authenticity left many curious to understand learn more. I personally am hoping this keeps motivating people to see and spend time in many areas the city they believe is so beautiful you can see it and then “die” with calm. Brava Elena!
Quick Travel Tip: To expereince a chic part of Naples in modern day try taking a walk through Vomero and Posillipo.
"“Here we are at last. The Italian proverb says “See Naples and die” but I say, see Naples and live; for there seems a great deal worth living for.”" -- Arthur John Strutt
WHO DOESN’T LOVE A GOOD ITALIAN WEDDING SCENE?
The traditional wedding scene in the TV Series is everything. It’s the finale that (obviously) ties it all together. A good ol’fashion Italian wedding is what brings a bit of that Sopranos and Godfather that everyone was secretly waiting for.
I read somewhere that the director wanted to pull it from the show but Ferrante insisted. She of course, was right. The very part of the last scene is most important. But don’t worry no spoiler alter necessary. However, if you did see it free to message me or comment about your thoughts on this! Because while I was sad, I was not shocked.
WHAT REALLY GOT ME HOOKED
Once I got to episode 2 of Season 1, I became obsessed with the show like I am with Naples itself. I started to dig deeper and research. Was there really an Elena and Lila? I wanted to know more. While researching I became distracted with other history and realizations. For example, I started making my own comparisons. Does anyone else see how Lila is a lot like the famous Pulcinella. I guess it may seem far fetched but hear me out.
I read a blog written by a man named Jeff Matthews. Read his description of the famous black masked man that lingers through Napoli then tell me if you get it. “Pulicinella, “ he states, “ is a character type is that of the jolly bungler, always poor and hungry, yet always able to get by, singing songs and playing the mandolin. In his stereotypical ineptness, however, there always remains the touch of the true court jester, the "fool," who delights in snubbing his nose at the powers that be, without them ever really catching on to how much wisdom is hidden behind the mask.”
To me, this reflects Lila. It’s this love hate feeling. She brings strength and joy but causes a lot of pain. And to be quite upfront this is a feeling and situation I’ve come across quite a bit with Napoli in the past 8 years.
I know that sounds deep and dramatic but WAIT! Before anyone goes and gets offended just let me finish. A lot (not everyone as I have good friends there) but a lot of the people I have personally met here are particular. They are blunt, but reserved. Strong but full of generosity kindness. You are not sure if you can or want to trust the, love them, or run as far as possible. But you always end up loving and trusting them anyway because of their heart, passion and persistence for everything they do and keep around them in life. It’s this kind of mystery that keeps me immersed in the back story of Naples and the story behind this book series.
SO IS THE STORY REAL?
When I tried to dig deeper into the life of the author. I came up empty handed. Which seems about the same as every blogger, reporter, writer, and journalist experienced too. In fact no one has actually ever met the author Elena Ferrante. Some have even questioned if she is real. I have even heard some accusations questioning if this was actually written by man!
I smirked when hearing about her mysterious life. This is so typical for a Neapolitan. She took the time share her heart and soul. Then left us wondering and waiting for the next big thing or truth to reveal. We do not even know the point of her sharing this story? Did she want to become famous, get even with a friend? Was she hurt or maybe just bored.
WHERE IS THE SHOW REALLY FILMED/BOOK BASED?
The area of the show is based around the Naples’ Gianturco train station or the area of Rione Luzzatti. This is only 10 minutes from the apartments where I usually stay when working in Naples. Once a very much overlook area is now attracting visitors for Ferrante Series Walking Tours (which we offer as well).
Since I refused to engage in the novels for the past few years, it’s my partner team that created this tour. As native guides leading the tour, naturally they are proud supporters of the series (both TV and Book) and their city.
Part of the books is was also based around the are of Aragonese Castle in Ischia. For the TV show I was told some parts of the beach scenes were filmed in Gaeta, Italy. Either case, Ferrante fans would want to visit this island to fully experience the tour. Ischia sits just about 60-90 minutes by boat from Napoli city center.
Two quick things to note. The Naples “neighborhood” was recreated in the area of Caserta. Therefore the filming did not actually take place there. Your tour will reflect a visit of the area based on the book. Just keep in mind while it’s cool to explore the area of Rione Luzzatti, it’s not a common place you may find yourself just randomly wandering and enjoying when in Naples. I recommend exploring with a guide.
SO IS WHAT IS YOUR OVERALL TAKE ON IT?
As I mentioned earlier, I haven’t personally read every book yet. At this point, I am not sure if I will read immerse myself in the books or just follow the HBO series (since I have become so attached to the visual characters). However, from what I have seen so far, it’s worth (binge) watching and trying to read. I see it as a real and edgy way to look into the Naples lifestyle.
Novels like this, although dig deep, often allow you to understand a city more and fear it less. Naples needs that right now. As a UNESCO World heritage site it’s deserves a little loving here and there. Even if it’s not a love at first site kind of place.
ANY OTHER THOUGHTS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE WATCHING/READING?
YES! Watch every scene without judgement. Why? Because throughout the series you will find that the bad guy is good then bad is then good again. It’s hard to keep up in that sense. So don’t place titles on anyone. Just stay focused on the story line between Lenu` and Lila.
Just try to live it, feel it, breathe it. Ferrante’s series’ goes beyond what you have heard during your travels or know from the books about Napoli. As I keep saying, it goes deeper then that. So don’t waste time with assumptions.
IN SUMMARY…
I was trying to put into words my emotions about what I have watched. Then I read a write up by Guardian. Since they already stated it perfectly I wanted to share with you. They say “ her focus, Ferrante’s work centres on her characters’ inner lives and how they respond to their environment. In this way, Ferrante casts a new light on the places she writes about…
In the book, Lila and Elena discuss an idea: “When there is no love, not only the life of the people becomes sterile but the life of cities.” Something similar might be said of art, through which a city can be given new life, whatever bad things may have happened there. Ferrante holds up a mirror, showing the flaws in the places and people around her, but also the things that are valuable.”
In the beginning of this article I talked about being told “I really didn’t know enough about Naples.” Is this true? Was I lacking knowledge and do I now know more now because I immersed myself in the Elena Ferrante “My Brillant Friend” series?
As far as art and history, I would say I am still about the same. I forever will be learning about Caravaggio or the famous paintings in the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte.
However, after finishing this the HBO series of “My Brilliant Friend” I feel proud to say this. I actually know enough about Naples. Sure I may bleed Sicilian, been born in America and only travel Naples during my 6 month yearly stay in Italy. However, I have a feeling I had and still have access to a unique look inside this city that some may never get. I believe I understood the deeper story that Elena Ferrante was trying to share through all of this (without my knowledge of Caravaggio) so I am going to go with that.
Naples, is the city that has had me repeating the cycle of love, loss, love, loss over and over again. But just like Lenu` feelings towards her friendship with Lila’s, I keep going back. It’s the heart underneath that tough rugged body that always pulls me back in.
I have a strange feeling the soul of this beautiful, confusing, and mysterious city will keep me coming back for many years to come. This is until I one day, I completely understand it all.
And if I do this quick enough and work on my Neapolitan maybe, I can audition for the 30 year old Lenu` for the Series 3. ;)
How to start watching, reading, and exploring Naples, Elena Ferrante’s Novels, and the set of the filming
“My Brillant Friend” can be found on HBO Demand. For instructions on how to watch it online see here. Please remember this show can only be found in Italian with English subtitles. There is no English version. This is what makes it great!

Vocal type: Spinto-soprano. Positives: Legendary interpretive wit, thanks to incredible knowledge of musical phrasing and vocal pedagogy. A defining, trademarked voice. Incredible breath support, showing no signs of fatigue and carrying extensive legato passages with ease. Incredible utilization of dynamics, using all volumes from fortissimo to pianissimo and everything in between to craft incredible phrases. Great control of her passagio and incredibly balanced instrument. Powerful, resonant belts that are mixed with head voice, that are well-supported and healthy, projecting massive resonance with ease. A master of breath support. Able to rapid fire mid and upper belts. Her low notes are also well supported, dark and full. The head voice is resonant and piercing, full and fluid. Her vibrato is well developed and rolling, and can be executed with ease. Her timbre is velvety and luscious and makes for a perfect midrange. She is also able to sing complex melisma in all registers, with every register well connected. Her falsetto is light and sweet. She also has unparalleled register transitions, switching from chest to head, head to whistle, and even chest to whistle without as much of a pause. Pitch perfect in 99% of performances. Technically, a brilliant singer. Negatives: Occasionally raises her larynx in upper-belts.
