akitos lips are soft. like genuinely so soft.

hes probably had them chapped for a little while , due to practicing in the sun a lot. before you started helping him on it. i guess it payed off , so , so well.

so now , after helping him treat them, his kisses got somehow better.

its like theyre more tender and passionate now. maybe its his way of getting back at you for giving him tips and buying the necessary things he needed? pretty much. yeah definitely. 

small fact : he still kept the things you bought him for his lips , neat and clean on his desk. ‘ im keeping those for when they get dry again, not for kissing you better. they heavily influence my singing, y’know? ‘ - thats his excuse anyway.

usually, they arent that long. in hurries, he usually just leaves a small peck. a kiss on the forehead, even. tho he only does this when no ones watching , not too fond of pda because of three certain someones. the most he can do in public is a quick kiss on the hand, on one of the rings you wear, if you do actually use jewelry.

but in private , its like a switch flipping. hes initiating it a lot more, each kiss lasting two times more than usual with one break slipped in there somewhere. mostly on the lips, but doesnt limit there. hed kiss you all over your face occasionally , if hes feeling mischievous. or in comfort. depends on the context.

and about hand placement — definitely on your waist. he likes it alot. in an innocent way, ofcourse. in general, he just likes it. wrapping his arms around it from behind you , hugging you and resting his face on your shoulder. akito himself doesnt know why.

so basically — his kissers are tender , passionate , and depend on his mood. hes a pretty simple guy.

she has dry lips, due to working a lot during both mornings and nights , so she doesnt really have time to take care of them — or she oftenly licks them to the extent of it. it doesnt take a lot of chapstick to get them nice and soft, tho.

theyd DEFINITELY taste like soy cup noodles, argue with the entirety of usa. or collectively agree. i dont care i know im right.

her kisses arent special, but they hold a lot of sentimental expression to both you and kanade. for her , leaving you quick pecks anywhere on your face is a way to express what shes feeling. is she proud? is she happy? did something happen? does she need attention? you’ll only know through her quick kiss on your cheek.

she cant last through really long kisses tho — poor girl runs out of breath so fast. thats why you both settled in quick pecks.

HIII WELCOME BACK !! im always happy to talk abt haniwa i vibrate ever time i talk abt it yahay!! LETS GET DOWN TO IT THEN !!

the idol series is a branch of honeyworks' confession executive committee, which as opposed to the large majority of their songs that centered on familiar shoujo manga struggles such as love, crushes, terminal illness, talking flowers, and of course, what happens when your crush moves to USA bc he was too stupid to confess — ANYWAY. idol series deals with the struggles and sufferings of idols in the entertainment industry, as well as the relationships they form in and out of their jobs !

idol series primarily centers on lipxlip ! which if you have ever seen me or spoke to me you must be fully aware im not very normal about them and just Talking abt them is one whole post itself so lets just jump over that. pyon~~!

lipxlip are the introductory characters into idol series, with one of its members, aizo, having a branch in the love series through his brother, ken. this shows that both serie are inherently connected and are simply separated by heteronormativity super silly things!

idol series also includes hiyori, lipxlip's manager and classmate who has since earned her own spot as a main character in love series with her own love story with shiranami nagisa — as well as other idols !!

mona is an angel-themed idol who is also the sister of sena narumi, a love series character and partner of midori takamine AND an in-universe media personality !

minami started as a collaboration character with y!mobile where he was introduced as the love interest of nakuru in bae love, and they have since canonized their relationship in ren'ai thru kareshi no shikaku !

another pair of idols are asuka kaido and kanata ichigoya, otherwise known as ASCANA! theyre part of the virtual johnny's project and asuka was a temporary potential love interest for hiyori up until his rejection of her in heroine ikusei keikaku (heroine development plan) . unfortunately, ascana has probably been discontinued bc their seiyuus are part of a much bigger musical group !

last and very expansive idol group (ish) in idol series is full throttle4 ! sometimes abbreviated as ft4, their members go by stage names in english characters. unlike the others, theyre not actually idols ! theyre a music and dance group with their manager as their DJ and leader, IV! rio and yui serve as the vocals while megu and dai are dancers!

note abt ft4 is that their songs tend to deal with heavy subject matter and their theme in itself is much darker than mona's angels or lipxlip's princes, but they have some incredibly interesting stories ^_^

idol series has various other characters from different media and stories: an example is chizuru nakamura or chuutan, the infamous main character of kawaikute gomen and a diehard lipxlip fan ! there's also asuna, mona's rival idol who has done some... cruel things to mona in the watashi idol sengen manga. additionally, various characters voiced by amatsuki often play the role of mona fans, like kobayashi from getsuyoubi no yuutsu! there are more and more but at this point this ask is. Well Chichi is a heterosexual woman.

She is a woman who wants very much to live traditionally and love loyally. Her satisfaction from life stems from having a stable lifelong partner and from being the matriarch of her own family.

So. Becasue of all of this, you would not consider her a candidate for a romantic triste (that may be the wrong word but I mean, like, an affair). And yeah, true! She just wants to be loyal, and for her mate to be worthwhile, god damnit! It's the taurus in her!

But listen. She is a very traditional and high-strung woman. And theres this phenomenon where people who follow very strict rules may break strange ones, becasue everyone breaks them every once in a while, and if everything is a big deal to you, then you lose sight of what REALLY shouldnt be broken.

And Chichi, yknow, we all know her, yknow? Shes romantic. Shes strong and forceful. Shes a consummate lover, man, I feel like she just really needs that emotional and physcial satisfaction, yknow? Shes ran a tight ship and a good home. She controls her own life. No one even cares what she does anymore. No one has looked at her in a long time.

But with that reality looming, she'll stick around for 7 minutes to see what you have to say. She'll give a fellow woman a chance. And if you impress her, maybe you'll get more than just 7 minutes of conversation out of her.

I had to quit miraculous awhile ago but at one point I was interested. Pray tell, has there been an identity reveal that didn’t get undone by amnesia/time travel/weird plot contrivance, yet?

listen, i wish i had that self control. i dont like miraculous. though i do appreciate some of the pros of the show (the diversity, for instance, is something i respect, especially being produced in france which [from what ive heard from a good friend from france i went to college with] isnt as progressive with lgbt+ as canada or parts of the USA), the main thing i have always, and will always have issue with, is the writing.

so, putting this under read more in case people dont want spoilers

so, to condense my internal rants -- no, theres no identity reveal. i thought i heard something or other about that, but no, theres no chat noir/ladybug identity reveal. there IS, however, a ladybug/HAWKMOTH identity reveal. without chat noir present.

chat noir is written out of most of the finale.

oh! also, hawkmoth won. he just straight up won. he got what he wanted.

in the episode preceding the two parter, there is a large build up between adrien and his dad, who self akumatizes again (wowzers!), and as they fight they argue about parenting. adrien knows he's yelling at his dad, but gabriel doesnt -- something i assumed was a build up to a final hawkmoth/chat noir showdown, something of that nature. but nope! it seems like that episode was the product of the shows worth of adrien vs gabriel tension. and its severely disappointing.

also, they confirm that felix is a sentimonster-- cool. they imply adrien is also one, which is less cool. just say it. its season 5.

this entire season has been, and continues to be, build up-build up-build up, which coalesces into a two parter that cuts one of the main characters, brings in characters from the movies (which i didnt even see, so i had no idea who the hell these people were, randomly showing up and fighting the villains), and an even more batshit insane scheme that usual. chloe becomes temporary mayor (???? shes like 14? or 15? however old theyre supposed to be anyway) in one episode, then the alliance rings are used to like, hypnotize everyone? its so fucking confusing. kagami and adrien are quite sincerely, by definition kidnapped by their parents too. but their parents did it to keep them safe!! (and then kagami and adrien were still affected by the akuma attacks/hypnotism/etc, so....)

i think the worst part is that hawkmoth actually won. he summoned god (NO EXAGGERATION.) and sacrificed himself to bring emilie back.... which brings up a ton of questions. my main ones being; what the fuck? did he rewrite time? did she just wake up from the coma? what happened to gabriel? did everyone just accept that adriens mom is back? did no one question this sudden switch?

obviously, in this little end-montage, they explain that gabriel 'helped defeat hawkmoth with ladybug', and he gets a statue in his honour, and adrien, quite literally says, i dont think i can ever be like him (or a line to that effect, if my memory's correct). and thats such a slap in the face.

its... stupid. it really is. i feel unsatisfied, and frankly, duped. i had always thought that it would be a final showdown between ladybug, chat noir and hawkmoth. where we could see the parallels between gabriel/emelie and adrien/marinette -- this is stuff i was expecting as soon as it was revealed that gabriel had emelie creepily in his basement. i was expecting a happy ending, obviously (its a kids show), but one that was hard earned. no one got that. no arcs were completed, or at the very least, completed well.

felix and kagami get together. ??? why? felix is also an ally now. why? chloe seems to be out of the picture, and lila now holds the butterfly miraculous.

like, i cant even lie. i made superhero ocs based off of how angry i am at this show. because i genuinely feel i can do better. i think most people could do better, because theyve ignored integral parts of the hero's journey. hell, it's barely a journey to begin with.

i think i mostly watch it now still, because i hopped on the train back when season 2 first aired, when i was in elementary school. im a god damn college drop out now! if this doesnt prove the time invested = loyalty theory, then i dont know what does

I have to say, I've been to a lot of haunted places in my life of drifting around the USA. A lot. Any one of them that I walk into that has either a gift shop, or a big binder behind the front desk with stories/photos of all their guests' ghost sightings over the years are always my favorites. I know they're tourist traps, but they're fun lol.

Scotty actually does lives on tiktok a lot. I've come across him a couple times and he's always spoke so highly of them; said they were very nice and he'd gladly do another video with them. I always thought that was sweet considering thay have a whole part in this video where they're like "uuuuuhhhh...." about him lol.

Yall ive been needing new (colder weather) field pants, since my current ones are 7 years old and were like 20 bucks at walmart, so theyre only cotton and literally tearing at the seams at this point. I got them before forestry school and theyve seen most of the usa and 4 other countries and theyre my favorite cargos, but theyre literally starting to fall apart.

Like ive been looking for the right pair for a couple of years already, ive even been wearing my lightweight hiking pants with thermal underwear instead so i dont fully break my favorite ones that are dying on me. All because field pants are super expensive!!

But this summer im working so far north that im like a 2 hour drive from the friggin arctic circle, and its too cold here for the pants i wore in the desert, so i brought my old pants but theyre Ripping At The Inner Seams after one week of field work. So i went to the outdoor gear store here in town yesterday and spent like an hour trying on all the different styles and deliberating on thickness and pockets etc etc.

And i found a pair thats midweight and black and comfortable and they even have short lengths for sale in this nordic country of giants. And it was on sale for like 40% off, and this brand is pricey but really good quality, so i got them and im super happy with them they look awesome and are hopefully gonna last me another 10 years.

But i feel so incredibly guilty about shelling out so much money even for something i genuinely needed. Ive spent so much money on this research trip bc its seasonally sensitive and my funding doesnt arrive until august. And its super illogical and i dont want to annoy my friends and family with my anxiety, so have a long and pointless tumblr post.

Tldr: i bought myself very expensive but needed work pants yesterday and am feeling too guilty to enjoy them properly

omg hi @zablife ! i dont have one i've thought about, i have many, many, many. And many of these i wont write because they're wayyy too dramatic.

tommy having a very angsty period of time with his significantly younger partner.

michael not fully commiting to a relationship because he is settling for a SO he didn't initially wanted, so he is in a relationship because he is expected to and his SO is unaware of this and finds out in a fight or whatever, and he starts to realize that it wasn't a relationship as dreadful as he thought and he was just seeing the bad parts like her being concerned when he comes home way too late and she waited for him up, and she was just trying to make him happy and trying to get to know him better I I LIVE LAUGH LOVE ANGST

michael having sexual tension with a girl that is a family friend since the early days, so on polly's birthday she helps polly prepare everything for her bday party and because of something she ends up dirty, polly is like "oh, just go shower to michaels room since he moved out he hasnt been using it so just go ahead" and so she does, she showers and all, when she gets out of the shower and walks into the room (its a bathroom-inside-a-room- thing, you know what i mean, i forgot the name hehe) she is in her underware but michael is there too, getting undressed because he couldnt shower at his place so they're both in their underware with some "forced proximity" type of shit and since he has this massive crush on her but is too shy (yes, michael is shy in this one) he never thought he would see her like this, and she just smiles and says "hi" super nervous so he gets all horny without a second doubt because his biggest crush ever is there, basicaly naked, in her undies, and its all awkward, so he runs into the bathroom ignoring the whole situation. fast forward a few hours theyre cleaning everything from the party and they start making out in the kitchen and end up having couch sex bc the room is upstairs and they dont have the mental stability to think about anything else but sex with each other at that moment.

I GOT SO MUCH TO SAYYY!! gosh pls dont find me weird okay, and these are just my personal opinions and im not hating any groups!! but my unpopular opinion is: i think kpop has become very toxic after bts and bp got famous in America. And tbh if you ask me, i wouldnt want any other kpop groups to be famous in America... i only stan exo but i think i speak for all groups when i say they are safe as they are now... of course if exo ever get even more famous i will be happy and proud for their success. Some half of them americans are very toxic, racist, and just theyre basically acid, like bruh, its evident that once bts got famous there are soooo much hate thrown towards bts too cuz theyre asians, or how some would say theyre gay or look like girls...if my favs (exo) ever get these kinds of treatments (not that they dint but veryy little cuz thank god they ain exposed to the western culture) i will B R E A K, i could never handle that so i would never want that to happen to them. Also noticed how, after bts got famous, most armys are equally as toxic, whether they are just stanning bts just cuz theyre famous there, or like how their fans dont even know anything abt bts and coming after so many groups and their fans. Most of them are fake and i think its cuz of the fame for bts lmao. Kpop has become extremely toxic with the growth of international fans and the rise of 3rd/4th gen. I wasn't around to experience the previous generations, but I know damn well they weren't a mess like these newer ones are.

Gaining fame in America does seem to change idols, and idk why. The group members change and the music changes also. While I do enjoy hearing idols swear (guilty pleasure) and I am an American so I get to enjoy their English songs, I can see how it makes all the other cultures/countries feel some type of way.

I will say this, though, the Grammys are shit and I dont get why people care so much about them. They've proven time and time again the awards don't go to the best artists. However, this doesn't mean that I think BTS deserved a Grammy imo.

Americans are a very toxic and hate filled bunch (again, I am one, so I get to see this shit every day). I 100% know that some of the hate directed towards Asians is because of racism (as seen by the insane uptick in crime against Asian Americans right now) and because some see kpop male idols as too feminine.

BTS is literally everywhere, which is one of the reasons I stopped listening to them tbh. They'd be in commercials, on talk shows, late night shows, in magazines, on the radio, just everywhere. It took the joy out of watching anything from them just because they were always in my face, so I can see what you mean.

I feel like the relationship between BTS and army has changed (from an outsiders perspective). Its no longer about loving and supporting your group and being happy for them. Now, its "so-so wants this? We MUST do everything in our power and spam every possible thing ever so they get what they want". Its almost frightening. They also no longer care about the quality of the music being put out. Doesn't matter what it is, they stream the ever loving shit out of it and make it break records when, honestly, it doesn't deserve to (again imo).

Lastly, I didnt get mad or offended haha. I understand a lot of these viewpoints, and thank you so much for liking my work!! I do wonder what would happen if I made a true BBH centric fic and not just spin offs or continuations of previous works where oc ends up with BBH 🤔🤔 I think that fic would have too much power haha.

in which i loosely follow the plot of hamilton except its firstprince and alex and henry get a happy ending. inspired by the striking similarities i noted between our favorite first son and his namesake hamilton in the broadway musical

the similarities:

both have/will have a political career

both often talk too much/don't mind their words

both began as lawyers

both extremely motivated but overwork themselves (“nonstop” +  “you have a fire under ur ass for no good goddamn reason)

both had some sort of sex scandal that impacted their career plans

hamilton speculated to be bi

the story

the setup of the colonized country alex lives in is similar to the usa vs england but fictional bc alexs race would have limited his opportunities in america's early years

idk names for either of these countries so its now the colony and the motherland

alex + his mom live alone in the poorer southern part of the colony

but his dad + june live elsewhere + they dont rly contact e/o (tho they do know of e/o’s existence)

june becomes a journalist who writes important pieces abt independence

when alex comes of age his mom reveals she used to be part of the rebellion

thats actually why his dad left to raise june bc it was too dangerous

his parents met in the rebellion but oscar left first for june while ellen stayed until she realized she was pregnant w alex

ellen still has some rebel contacts but she mostly sheltered alex to keep him safe

now tho alex decides to join too + the rebellion sends him up north to the capital for an education bc he's smart + they need people like that

he attends uni + meets like-minded people there

tension grows btwn the colony in the motherland, and alex + his friends write/speak out often and this goes on throughout their schooling

they’re also troublemakers in general too, much to the annoyance of the motherland soldiers stationed in the capital to prevent rebellion

henry is one of those soldiers

he's from a noble family in the motherland but was sent overseas as the sort of black sheep of the family due to his sexuality

the idea was to let him be in charge in the colony + reestablish a reputation there w/o embarrassing the main family back home

henry hates his job + feels bad for the colonists but still does what he's told anyway

alex + fhis riends like to bug motherland soldiers for fun

nothing  enough to put their lives in danger too much (although yes that too esp when drunk)

henry becomes a favorite target of alex's bc he's awfully stoic + statue like + on the way to uni - overall fun to antagonize 

there's also the fact that alex is angry at all the soldiers for oppressing the colony + holding up the motherland monarchs tyranny (but also alex just is the type to fight literally everything and anything) 

it becomes almost a daily ritual for them to argue 

henry wonders why this colonist keeps on picking a fight w him but soon almost looks forward to it

many of the other soldiers know or speculate why henry is in the colony but none make the effort to get to know him; some even call him arrogant or undeserving of his position

alex doesn't 

of course alex also doesn't know him

and alex hates him

but he doesn't whisper behind henry's back

henry comes to read some of the essays alex publishes speaking out against the monarchy + also hears alex speak to crowd in the square

alex is a talented + charismatic public speaker

henry finds himself growing increasingly sympathetic to the colonists cause

at the same time he and the other soldiers are order to be stricter and dole out more punishments

the others gleefully do so which makes henry concerned about alex's safety bc alex often seems to have no self-preservation skills

henry asks alex for a word when he's alone 

“am I in trouble?” “no but you bloody will be if u keep going on like this” 

“this is serious” “so am I” “you can't go around saying things so openly you'll get yourself killed”

alex tries to leave at this point “I think I'll be ok” but henry shoves him against the nearest wall 

“listen to me! stop acting like this is a game! ur putting ur sodding life in danger! I dont bloody care what ur opinions r but why must u declare them around enemy soldiers? how is this helpful 2 ur cause? u cant fight if ur dead” 

“you'd b surprised how effective martyrs are” 

cue enraged henry noises 

alexs gaze turns hard “listen i  appreciate/the advice” he says sarcastically “but I dont need an enemy telling me what to do. I can take care of myself” 

there's a stirring in alexs chest after he removes henry's hand and stalks off that he's pretty sure is anger

like it can't be anything else 

while alex is trying to convince himself of that, the tensions boil over + soon the two sides are on the brink of war then the fighting starts

henry + alex don't talk much for a while bc they're both busy on their sides preparing

school is on hold during the war so alex + his friends are looking to serve + bring glory to their names 

alex esp is recognized for his intelligence + becomes the recognized general rafael lunas secretary

luna is the george washington figure in this case who is impressed by alex wants him as his right-hand man

alex is disappointed his role is not on the battlefield bc he knows he has a good tactical mind + he could change the tide of a losing war + gain honor and status thru it, which would put him in a good position to be elected in the future

as secretary, alex is in charge of a lot of important correspondence eg for more supplies + men, so the motherland soldiers figure ambushing him off the battlefield would make things hard for the colonists

henry overhears this plan + immediately worries for alex's safety but he's cornered by another soldier to talk strategy + misses the chance to take out the men then

henry manages to catch that they're going to attack alex at night when he leaves + henry arrives just in time to kill them in a panic

alex hears the gunshot + yells “drop ur weapon”, drawing his own gun

henry obviously does + alex inspects the scene he keeps a gun fixed on henry

“what's going on?” he asks, eyeing henry w/ suspicion

henry explains everything + looks positively terrified bc he just betrayed his side even tho the motherland and his family has treated him like shit since he came out but still. 

becoming an outright traitor is not something henry ever planned + leaving behind everything he's ever known w no hope of ever going back is terrifying

but he also doesn't regret protecting alex

alex questions henry but can quickly tell henry is sincere + is telling the truth

henry explains his change of heart + they have a heartfelt moment in/just outside luna's office.

alex almost died + henry just switched sides, emotions are running high and they escalate into a kiss. the moon is out + it's all very romantic but they don't admit their feelings yet

soon after they go to luna, explain the situation + talk w the other generals/people in charge

henry is sent away on an assignment + is watched closely at first but he proves his loyalty quickly

henry and alex write letters back + forth that turn into love letters 

besides managing correspondence for luna, some of alexs ideas of sneak attacks/stealing supplies help turn the tide of the war andhe also writes to other countries for foreign aid

eventually the colonists win in this huge up start that no one anticipated bc the motherland is known as the most powerful country in the world

he + henry reunite in the capital of once the war is over

alex finishes up his studies + practices law + soon is chosen to be part of the new lawmaking body

things are going pretty well for alex w his legal + political success and his relationship with henry

they dont live together but theyre dating tho no one else knows

alex pretends to be single instead + says he doesn't want to be tied down

it works while he's still in his early 20s but as he gets closer to 30, people start to find it strange + tell him he needs to settle

being married to his work is also not a valid excuse anymore

it turns out alex made quite a few political enemies due to his strong opinions that he always vocalises + can be unwilling to compromise on

they don't like his ideas or more often hate him and hence his ideas too

they look for some dirt on him bc atm he has lunas support which has a lot of sway + decide they need to find out why he hasn't married

they manage to find out about henry + threaten to tell the public

alex is obviously distraught re the consequences personally + politically

so alex and henry discuss what to do 

henry is willing to put alexs political career 1st but firmly explains their relationship can't continue if that's the case

henry gave up his whole life + any possibility of going back to his family so he's not willing to be someone's dirty little secret  

alex doesn't know what to do so he goes to consult luna who he's become very close with over the years

luna is not quite old enough to be his father but he's like an uncle + he always calls alex “kid”, much to alex's annoyance

but alex knows he'll have some good advice

alex + luna end up having a long conversation

like washington luna has always been very vocal abt his regrets re his naivety + desire for glory back in his youth

hes always said that this was his greatest regret in life. but then he tells alex like he had another great regret in life- letting go of the love of his life

alex is surprised bc luna's never mentioned anyone special

“who is she?” 

“he” luna corrects “he was my best friend. we had something a relationship but it was short-lived bc I decided I wanted to join the military + attain glory. i thought thats what i wanted in life. turns out that stuff is meaningless w/o anyone to share it w. nor did I even achieve it. perhaps i did accomplish some things but now in my retirement I have no one by my side. i have found that life is meaningless without love and family.  

“i tried to find my friend to reconnect after all these years even as simply friends but he died in the war. alex, I see many similarities between us. don't make the same mistake that I did, alexander. glory + lasting legacy mean nothing if you're alone in the end

“if you make choices that are motivated by love and family you will be a lot happier”

alex takes his advice even though he kind of hates sort of giving up to his enemies

he decides to choose henry and his own happiness over politics bc in the end he's done a lot of good work and that much is enough

also his enemies probably would try to blackmail him throughout his career if he was doing something against their interests

so he + henry leave the capital and move uptown and the two of them have a quiet retirement + engage in philanthropy for the rest of their lives

separately they've amassed a decent amount of money - henry kept a portion of his inheritance despite being unofficially disowned and alex made a lot of money as a lawyer and then politician

as it turns out alex still has a tangential role in politics when some of his former allies go to him for advice

all in all, alex happy with his final decision to be with henry and step away from politics

the two of them live happy and full lives together

i’m glad you’re reviewing your stances on cops and the work they do, and the way the media you consume and produce is affected by that

my immediate suggestions are lawyer!alec and politician!alec. i think both are jobs that suit him quite well and are similar in gist to what we see him doing in the show

i’d, however, give you a few warnings about lawyer!alec, because while we can’t exactly All Lawyers Are Bastards, the way lawyers are commonly depicted in media is frequently ALSO cop propaganda. not to mention that well, being a lawyer is a complicated job because the laws we currently have are inherently unjust and so is the criminal justice system, so working as a lawyer can be a way to uphold white supremacy as well. i say can because plenty of prison abolitionists i know are lawyers, and some of them do very important work dedicated to freeing people who were unjustly imprisoned, pushing for the end of mass incarceration, representing people who have no access to the justice system, and other very important work. so again, i don’t think all lawyers are bastards lmao, but i do think it’s something to be mindful of (NOTE: i mostly follow the discussions of prison abolishment in brazil, so i don’t know the context of that fight and the role lawyers play in the USA. the context is very different because brazil has what is considered one of the most progressive constitutions in the world, so lawyers actually have a lot to work with because we are granted way more rights, at least in paper, than US americans are) 

im getting too complicated. what i mean to say is, if you’re gonna make alec a lawyer, be mindful as not to make him a prosecutor who is constantly arresting Big Bad Murderers and Terrible Rapists and sending them to prison all the time - that is basically reinforcing the idea that the cops’ job is to arrest Terrible Criminals, when in reality most cases lawyers deal with are the ones who are major reasons for mass incarceration, such as drug posession, stealing, handling divorces and other mundane stuff. so if you make alec a lawyer but have all his cases be of Really Bad People who were Rightfully Arrested, that’s still cop propaganda 

id be particularly supportive of alec being a defense attorney, not a prosecutor, dedicated to making sure people get the best defense they can and are not arrested for petty crimes, not racially profiled, and whatnot. if you choose to make him a prosecutor, i’d say, make him specialize in something such as domestic violence (altho that can also be tricky and fall into cop propaganda again if you’re not careful) or even police brutality, so what he’s doing is fighting the racist system, not upkeeping it

i also think that making alec a lawyer has potential to have a similar growth as to what we’ve seen in the show, i.e. maybe he begins as a regular lawyer who only cares about making sure the law is followed no matter how unjust it is, and he slowly develops to realize that the law sucks and starts using his job to protect people, not the law itself. but that of course depends on what kind of au you’re going for, if you even mean to get into these issues, etc. that is just a suggestion if you did have such plans

politician alec also works similarly, and well. we do see alec as a politician in the show - he is trained to be a diplomat after all - so again that is something i can easily see him doing, that fits him, and that is related to his work as a shadowhunter/inquisitor - trying to make the law and bring change from the inside. it’s not something i particularly believe in, but that’s neither here nor there

those are my immediate suggestions. i can also see doctor!alec since that is the #1 “boy who desperately wants to keep their parents happy” profession, if you are planning on talking about these issues. but i think his personality better suits lawyer and politician. if you want him to be someone who’s working with the practical aspects of tragedy, like when he is doing field work in the show, there’s always firefighters, or paramedics. i can see alec as a paramedic pretty well actually (again, careful as not to make it “he’s constantly saving people from GANG SHOOTINGS and MURDER ATTEMPTS” or stuff like that) because it’s a job where he can be in the middle of the problem, immediately help people in most need, and be active, rather than just doing mental work. not that that isn’t important, but i think alec might need to have some action in his life lol

finally, i am happy that you trust me with giving you tips in regards to these issues, and i also understand how you might not want to send an ask like this to a Black person, but i remind you that i am nonblack and police brutality is not really a problem that affects me in brazil. i have written this answer based on what i’ve learnt from listening to their voices and following the very important discussions regarding police brutality, prison abolishment, and etc both in brazil and the USA. so i encourage any black or indigenous person who has anything to add or criticize about my answer to do so, and ask you to please listen to them

you wrote the build up for the exam SO well. like with every time jump i was so nervous for how the exam was gonna end up. Tae’s character was so genuine and wholesome and my heart SHATTERED when i found out he didnt pass. And then reading his note after was so sad, especially the way he reminisced on the past things they did. And that one line “do you think theyre watching over you” felt so so magical. And the way you wrote how yn ‘survived’ the exam was so true. (cont.)

Anyways! Im sorry this review was ALL OVER THE PLACE DKSJDKFSD but this was just so beautiful to read. The ending was so sad but the way you wrote it made it seem so bittersweet. tae’s undiagnosed anxiety is a tribute to the education system in america and what it’s done to students’ nerves. i got a lot of influence for his character from myself and a lot of my friends. it makes me really sad that more people suffer from anxiety, BUT on the other hand, i’m also glad i was able to depict it accurately 

omg i spent a LOT of time developing jimin and yoongi’s backstories (especially yoongi’s because his story is a bit more sensitive than jimin’s). it makes me really, really happy that my efforts have paid off!! 

I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY THAT YOU THOUGHT THE BULID UP WAS GOOD. the whole mf story was supposed to be a huge allegory of the usa’s ugly-ass education system lmao. so to hear that you were nervous as the actual date of the exam got closer means that i did my job LOL

mY goD i tried so hard making tae seem like a realistic character. in fact, the whole point of this WHOLE series is about realistic, everyday, normal, average people who live in an unfair/destructive society. i just think in movies and other dystopian-themed media, we see too much of the katniss everdeen trope (if you know what i mean). not everyone is destined to be a hero. sometimes, we succumb to the madness, no matter how bad it is. but you’re welcome to imagine ways in which there might be a future successful rebellion in this society of atna. (mAybe i’ll even write about that one day LMAO)

and yes!! yn did survive. she was dragged into something that she was going to ignore completely. but she became influenced and began to conform to her society’s standards. she’s a survivor; albeit, she didn’t survive as heroically as other main characters might in a crisis
