Much like any job, being the administrative assistant to the chief of the local fire department had its pros, and cons. Up until recently, said pros had only barely outweighed the cons : a steady paycheck, relatively predictable working hours, and a reliable view of a certain charming, handsome, and unfortunately married firefighter. Ever since the dissolution of that marriage, however, the clerical employee's working environment had become substantially more pleasant.

Her long-standing crush on him hadn't exactly been a secret, and although she had not made any attempt to act on it – the rumor of an affair between herself and Cooper Abbott had begun to swirl as soon as news of his impending divorce had hit the fire station. The theories between the firemen and various staff had of course been false, but even Cooper had begun to actively take notice of her, and her obvious attraction to him. And when he'd asked her out to dinner at the end of a shift one night, weeks after he'd ceased to wear his wedding ring, she'd answered in the affirmative before he'd even managed to finish his invitation. Months had passed since that first night, and they had been an item ever since.

“I really don't understand why I'm even being questioned,” Cooper stated, irritation in his voice, as he loomed over the police officer interrogating him, arms crossed, shoulder twitching slightly.

“It's protocol, Mr. Abbott. We're questioning everyone that fits the description,” the cop answered. “If you have nothing to hide, answering a few questions shouldn't be a problem,” he explained. “Now, we've spoken to every other fireman of the estimated height range and build, and your own chief confirmed you were unaccounted for on the eighteenth, so we just need to know your whereabouts.”

None of your fucking business, Cooper thought as he felt his eye twitch, glancing around for some sort of diversion. He'd managed to make it out of a marriage of fifteen years without his violent proclivities being detected, and he certainly wasn't about to be discovered now.

“He was with me,” a feminine voice declared, and both the officer and The Butcher glanced in surprise toward the direction of the source. “He was with me,” she repeated, and Cooper's firehouse paramour stepped into view, reaching for his hand when he offered it, his brows knit together in bemusement as he watched her eyes that avoided his own.

“Ma'am, you've already been accounted for, that's not-”

“No, um...we've been...dating, and it's sort of frowned upon with the two of us working together, and all...I was on the clock, and we shouldn't have...we just couldn't help ourselves,” she gave a half-hearted smile, shrugging her shoulders as Cooper's hand abandoned hers, only to find a new home at her waist, his thumb rubbing absently as the stark white blouse she wore. “Cooper just...didn't want me to get in trouble.”

There was silence between the three, the cop, the killer, and the alibi. The officer seemed to be contemplating their story, deciding whether it would better serve him to simply move on to the next possible suspect, when a shout from down the hallway drew all their attention. Cooper glanced down to the young woman beside him as the sound of the fire chief's bellowing voice called out her name, and with the briefest grasp of her hand, his thumb grazing over the inside of her wrist, the unmarred spot that mirrored his tattoo, she slipped from his embrace. “I'm...I'm sorry again, officer,” she called as she exchanged a glance with Cooper, before disappearing from sight.

Late afternoon eventually drifted into night, the assistant managing to hide away in the filing room and distract herself with paperwork, guiltily thankful when sirens had gone off in the fire station shortly after the confrontation with the investigator, Cooper being pulled away to preform his protective duties. His girlfriend had managed to avoid him the rest of the night, or so she thought, as she clocked out on her computer and gathered her effects, disappearing down the empty hallway that led to the back door of the facility.

“I know you don't think we aren't going to talk about this,” Cooper's voice sounded before she managed to round the last corner, just before the exit, her body visibly shuddering at the sudden rasp of his voice.

“I...I think the words you're looking for are 'thank you',” she stated as she tried to slide past him, reaching for the door handle, Cooper's large hand circling her wrist before she could rotate it.

“Someone's been keeping secrets,” he mumbled as he tugged lightly at her wrist, guiding her further away from her escape, out of the field of vision of the closest security camera.

“I prefer to think of it as playing dumb,” she breathed out as her back finally made contact with a wall, The Butcher cutting off any inkling of an escape between the smooth, painted surface behind her and his imposing frame.

“And how long have you been playing dumb?” Cooper murmured, his empty hand finding her free wrist and capturing it as he had the other, placing them both against the wall.

Silence filled the emptiness surrounding them for several seconds before her voice finally sounded again. “Since you were still happily married,” she admitted, his thumbs ghosting over her pulse points, her heart beat accelerating from more than just the anxiety of standing in the grasp of his physical control. “Maybe I...maybe the 'dumb' part isn't really an act-mmph” Her words stifled in her throat as she felt his plush lips against her trembling mouth. The force she'd half-expected in the aftermath of her confession didn't materialize, his kiss just as sweet and tender as ever, the flit of his tongue teasing her own, punctuated by briefer, though no less appreciated caresses of his skin against her own. “Even after everything you've done, I...,” her words dried up in her throat as she felt him draw away, no more than an inch, his warm breath on her prickling flesh as his face disappeared against her throat, his lips finding more skin to manipulate, “I still...” The Butcher's hand fisted in her hair as her wrists fell from their perch on the wall, slipping between layers of fabric that clung to his body, winding along his back, beneath his heavy jacket.

“Do you love me,” he rasped, more manipulation of a different flavor as he stood up straighter, a hand finding her jaw and tilting her chin until she could look nowhere else but his cold, piercing eyes.

“With all that I am.”

Duplicate Frame Deletion: A Likely Unnecessary Tutorial

So… you updated to MacOS Sonoma, and–while it is amazing in many regards for photoshop things–it is a dang bummer and mood killer if you use MPV. However, after slamming my head into a wall trying to change the code on my own, I realized there is a much, much simpler solution to this.

In this tutorial, I will be showing you all how to delete duplicate frames from your gifs, with two options:

duplicate finder

within photoshop

Under the cut because pictures are a visual learner’s best friend!

A quick note:

MPV is odd with this. I’ve not had to do this on 4k capping, but have had to on anything under that. I don’t know the full reasoning, but it mostly looks to be something with the way it is reading frame rate. I know it’s in the code, but could not pinpoint it myself, and these were the only tricks that worked. If you find a better solution, please let me know! It has been rough, otherwise.

Step 1: Cap in MPV as normal

Now, this may be obvious, but make your caps in MPV. For a full tutorial on this, I highly recommend this one by kylos. The only difference between our software and their suggestion is going to be using the newest version of MPV (.0.36 at the time of this), and not the older. This is because there is an issue with MacOS Sonoma and older versions of MPV that prevent it from opening for… Some reason.

Step 2: Make sure you have your caps

I recommend moving your caps to whatever folder you like for your own ease of use. My biggest rec is to have it in its own folder, with no older folders within the folder. Not really a requirement, but in my mind, it makes the process faster (only true depending on number of files in other folders). You should have something like this (I am doing a scene from TWOT, as it’s one I’ve tested this method on a few times in several instances):

Once there, it’s time for the line split. I recommend option 1 the most (it’s faster, IMO), but again, this is a two option thing.

Option 1: Duplicate File Finder

So, duplicate finders are what they sound like. They are pieces of software that can be used to scan your device (or specific sections of said device), for duplicate files. It does not matter the title of the file, if the system reads it as a copy, it will find it.

There are a number of varieties for this, paid and free. I will not lie, the one I use is a paid version, because I had a huge issue with duplicate files taking up space when I moved to a new device. This also helps a lot with cloud file keeping, in my opinion. But that is beside the point.

This is Duplicate File Finder Pro, which I got for other reasons, but has been very useful since this became an issue. The free version is sufficient for removing duplicate files found in folders, and that is why I still suggest it. You only need to get the pro if you have other intentions.

Now, onto the next step…

Step 3: Drag and drop the folder

With our folder full of caps, we simply drag and drop it into the application to begin.

Step 4: Click “Find duplicates” and watch the pretty graph roll.

Step 5: Select the duplicate images

You can see here it found the duplicates.

Now, I could go through by hand and click them, but… that’s a lot of time I don’t want to waste. I let it auto select them instead (you can tweak the settings for auto-select, but this is not that tutorial).

Step 6: Select review & remove, complete!

Wham bam! You’re completely set and good to go. Gif as normal~ (all final results at bottom)

Now, of course, maybe you don’t want a duplicate remover. Understandable, so what then? Well…

Option 2: Photoshop & the Changing Frame rate

So, this one is a little more technical. I suggest basic giffing and Photoshop knowledge before attempting.

Step 3: Import folder as you normally would

I believe this works as it would for import video, but I don’t want to say that and be wrong. But load your files in and you’ll be here:

Now create video timeline, make frames from layers, yada yada (kylos’ guide is very good with this if you need help, it’s the same that was linked at the beginning of this). You’ll now be here:

And the actual part of the tutorial you all came here for...

Step 4: Change the frame rate

So, in the bottom, next to the mountains for zooming in on the timeline, you’ll see it reads “30.00 fps.” We need to change this to 60. How? Easy! Click the three lines circled here:

Then click “Set Timeline Frame Rate…”

A little box will pop up, change the 30 to 15 (dropdown or typing, it works the same) and click “OK.”

Your timeline will now be cut in half for length. That’s OKAY. DO NOT PANIC.

(Optional) Step 5: Double Checking

Click play on your gif, and you’ll notice it is no longer duplicate framed! To verify, let’s convert back to frames, just to see…

And it did, success! So make the rest of your gif as normal.

Your final results for the gif will be the following, with the gifs all labeled on what option was taken (or not). These were cropped for uploading and sharpened because of how I am. No coloring applied.

“Please tell me that you didn’t text him,” My coworker asks with an edge of dread and disgust in her voice. For the last two hours of our shift, Lilly has been on me about the guy who left me his number yesterday.

It had been a slow day with only regulars really coming in so a decent looking young guy walking in felt like Christmas. Lils was on it and immediately put on her best flirt, fluttering her big eyes and matching lashes at him when he ordered. I wanted to laugh at the scene but that died when he flashed a smile my way and handed me his number. It was quickly followed by some passing comment about how he hates it when girls throw themselves at him. I had half a mind to throw his coffee on him but I knew my boss would have my head. I settled for plastering a fake smile on my face and saying “Vai pro caralho.” Of course the ignorant asshole thought I was being nice and winked at me. It took all of my strength to not shutter in disgust.

“You should know me better than that,” I throw back at her, “from that 2 minute interaction alone, I can already tell that he would talk about himself the entire date before saying something borderline foul like how Latinas girls are his favorite and he can’t stand white girls .”

Lils snorts as she takes a sip of her coffee, nearly choking and sending the hot liquid flying over the freshly cleaned counter. I arch a dark brow at her which makes her laugh even harder.

“What? Am I wrong? You can’t tell me that he wouldn’t have pulled out that high school Spanish to impress me.”

“No, no,” she stutters, wiping the coffee up, “it just caught me off guard is all. Wait, didn’t you say something to him in Spanish before he left? What did you say?”

I narrow my eyes at her, “Vai pro caralho? Babes you should know better.”

She looks at me in horror, “oh my god it was Portuguese, wasn’t it?”

I nod as she profusely apologizes, “I am so sorry, Y/N. Oh my god I’m not better than that asshat. Ugh, what does that mean though?”

The front door opens before I have the chance to speak and the little bells above alerts us to the one regular that never fails to put a smile on my face. Sam had been coming in since before I started working at Brewed Awakenings but after that first interaction, he came pretty much daily. He even got Sarah his sister to start coming in and within a matter of a few weeks, I was invited over for Sunday dinner.

“It means Go fuck yourself,” I tell Lils as I round the counter with a bright smile and wide arms. Sam matches me and wraps me into a tight hug.

“Good morn, Anjo. How are you?” He asks as he squeezes me into this chest.

I pull back and give him my best angry mãe look we I demand to know where he’s been for the last few weeks.

He holds his hands up in defense as he says, “put those eyes away, Anjo. Im sorry okay? I was on official business and I didn’t have time to swing by to let you know but I’m back.”

I don’t let up my expression at first and lecture him some more, “You better be. You were gone for like…”

I pause for dramatic effect to pretend to count the time while walking back around the counter, “6 weeks. I was about to send out a search and rescue team to find you. Ridiculous.”

Sam chuckles while shaking his head at me. He steps to the side to reveal a man that’s been standing behind him and one that I hadn’t noticed before.

A damn attractive man.

Albeit a bit judgmental given the looks he’s throwing at the both of us.

“I wasn’t gone that long,” Sam tries but stops when I shot him another mãe look. He quickly changes the subject, clapping his hand on his companion’s shoulder and introducing him, “well this is Bucky. He’s the reason I was gone so if you’re going to be mad at anyone, be mad at him.”

He looks familiar but I can’t quite figure out why. The massive resting bitch face forced me I stop the search before offering him a bright smile as I repeat his name.

This seems to…irritate him? I honestly can’t tell with the stone wall of moodiness and brooding that lives on his drop dead gorgeous face.

“Well welcome in Bucky, I’m Lilly but everyone calls me Lils and this is y/n,” Lils jumps in with an equally wide smile. His dark eyes flicker between us but hover half a second longer on me. He utters a low “thank you” and looks up to the menu.

Sam rolls his eyes at his short answer but his ever present smile never fades as he orders his usual, a large hot mocha with soy milk. I’ve tried to get him to switch to coconut or even hemp milk but he refuses. He always gives me the whole speech about how “soy is the closest to real milk and if I’m going to drink alternative milk, it has to be close to the real thing.”

“And for you?” I turn my attention to Bucky while Lils starts on Sam’s order. He looks me with slightly wide eyes, a little startled it seems that I’m still talking to and looking at him.

He freezes for a moment, “uh…um a large house coffee.”

“Of course,” Lils jumps in once again and slides a cup across the counter to him. The loud volume of her voice causes him to flinch and Sam instinctively steps in front of him. He takes the cup without another word and fills it while Sam pays and throws a shamelessly flirty smile to Lils. She mocks faintly in a fit of giggles and winks at him.

Sam turns his attention to him and subtlety jerks his chin towards the door, wordlessly asking me if I’ll walk them out. Lils caught it too and rolls her eyes before shooing us out the door.

“She means no harm. She’s just…cheery,” I tell Bucky when the door closes behind us and we step onto the side walk, “I can tell her to tone it back for when you come in next.”

Sam chuckles under his breath and tries to hide a smile behind his cup but fails miserably. Bucky shots him another one of those bored looks and rolls his beautiful eyes at him.

“You don’t have to do that,” he finally says to me and actually makes eye contact with me, “Y/N.”

I offer him another wide smile and stick my hand for him to shake. He glances down at my watch and rings before taking my hand.

“It’s nice to meet you, Bucky. Don’t let Sam fill your head with too many tales and I hope to see you soon.”

The man in question basically squawks in protests as I hug him goodbye and disappear back into the coffee shop.

About an hour after I get home, I get a text from Sam saying something along the lines of “Robo cop liked you and asked for your number.”

Moments later a D.C. number sends me a text and I quickly save it under “Bucky (aka Robo Cop according to Sam)”

That’s when it clicks who he is; Bucky Barnes, the former Winter Solider and the most attractive man I’ve ever met.

HELLO, I am here to ask how in THE WORLD do you get a trailer to look so good in gifs? every time I go to do something from a yt video....it always turns up, for lack of a better word, shitty. WHAT ARE YOUR SECRETS besides sheer talent?

aww thank you! but i agree, giffing from youtube videos is THE WORST i try to avoid it, but when WOT trailer season comes around, we have no other choice! in my explanation, i'll only talk about the tools i use, and if you don't have those tools and instead use other tools then i unfortunately won't be able to offer any insight because this is the way i've been making gifs since 2012 haha i am very set in my ways at this point!

my guess is that it might be more to do with the manner of capturing the video than any photoshop settings, because i've found that the quality of the source material is the biggest factor in the quality of a gif. when giffing from youtube (and from all other places), my method is to simply screenrecord the video as it plays in its original player, rather than download a copy of it. this may not be the H-est Q way to do it, but it's good enough for my taste!

i use the free xbox windows app, which has a screenrecording function in it:

then on youtube, i make sure the video is on the highest possible quality setting (so actually clicking on that setting rather than leaving it on the auto-quality default). i right click to loop the video, fullscreen it, start recording my screen, and start playing the video towards the end so that the youtube player will fade away after a few seconds and the video will loop back to the beginning and i can then have a clear screen throughout the whole thing (rather than starting my recording right at the beginning of the video and having the youtube player visible for the first few seconds).

i also suspect that youtube videos miiiiight take a bit of time after uploading to fully process the HD version - for example, i recorded the WOT trailer immediately after it was uploaded, but when i was giffing the next day, i went "wow this shot of nynaeve looks so bad" and went to try to re-record that shot, and sure enough it was noticeably better quality that time. (and i probably should have done the same for the entire trailer, but by that point i'd made a bunch of the other gifs and they were Fine Enough so i couldn't be bothered to redo all of them.) so it might be worth waiting some time after the upload to get your recording, or perhaps letting the whole video play through once to fully buffer as the HD version and then recording the second play? i'm totally just guessing here, who Really knows what caused a quality difference in my two recordings! but if you're screenrecording and notice a low quality shot, it never hurts to at least try to re-record it again and see if it's better that time; internet video players can be finicky in how good the quality is at a given moment.

next i go into photoshop. i've always used the "import video frames to layers" method for giffing, wherein you select that option in photoshop, pull up the video you're using, and highlight the portion of the video you want to turn into a gif, and then photoshop converts it into individual frames for you (i get the sense that the screencapping method is more popular, but it seems so confusing to me, so i've never tried it!)

finally, these are my sharpening settings (using photoshop's "smart sharpen" filter). the one on the left is my usual setting for gifs, which is a more dramatic sharpening, and the one on the right is my milder sharpening settings, which i tend to use for screencaps/still images - i also used these milder settings on my youtube trailer gifset because i found that with the lesser video quality (compared to a gif from an actual episode recorded out of the prime video player), the more dramatic sharpening settings made it look kinda grainy and harsh, so the subtler sharpening ended up being better for those particular gifs.

so, that's the basics of my process! like i said, i think the quality of the giffing source is by far the most important factor, and i've found that for youtube videos, screenrecording the HD version straight out of the youtube player works pretty well in maintaining as much of the original quality as possible. you can see here my 2 different recordings of the nynaeve shot. they have the exact same sharpening settings and coloring, but #1 is noticeably blurrier/more pixelated and it's solely because youtube was apparently in a better mood the second time and gave me a better-quality version of that shot for my recording.

Endless Pining

It had only been two hours...and Chris was already struggling. You had been invited on a bachelorette party for your sisters upcoming wedding and what was worse is that said party was in Cabo. You informed Chris of these plans months in advance and he was very cool calm and collected about the entire thing...until you started packing the night before.

"Are you sure you have to go?" he said, his eyes puppy dog like, he could have definitely given Dodger a run for his money in that moment. Gone was the Chris you were used to, the one that said he preferred his woman to have her own things going on, not wanting her to be tied to him all the time. And now look at him. Begging you to stay like some love struck clingy teenager.

Not that you're complaining, of course. You love Chris, it's obvious in the way you very nearly stayed home just to be with him. He's the love of your life, as cliche as it sounds. Although every single heartbreak lead you to him, you still wish he was the first and only man you fell for, slept with and met. But such is life, you can't complain now when all of that mess and hurt brought you to now, to being the woman who gets to be there at the end of a long couple months filled with interviews and awards shows. You're the one he comes home to. And vice versa.

Chris makes you feel the way you've always wanted to feel. He doesn't even make you question if you're the only woman in the world for him because you already know you are. You've never had to make pros and cons lists of why you should and shouldn't be with him and lastly, you've never had to ask him to treat you right. He just does. It's refreshing.

But the same goes for you with him. You are always there for him when his schedule dies down again and he's back home for a couple weeks, you get to cuddle up on the couch, play with his hair until he falls asleep and when you both eventually go to bed, you're there to cuddle him.

He knows how lucky he is to have you and he's never shy when it comes to showing his appreciation.

You see, Chris has had his own fair share of heartbreaks and times when he's been the heartbreaker, but he was young, naive and stupid. He made mistakes just like everyone does when they are growing and learning and maturing. He's never tried to hide his disdain for his past behaviour but he's also never tried to hide how much he knows he had to be that way to get to where he is now. And look at where it all lead him, straight to you. He's forever grateful it did. He never has to worry if you're in this relationship for fame and money, because you have your own successful career.

It all works, you balance one another out. It's heavenly and healthy and you couldn't wish for any better. And even if you did, how does it get better than this?

The total length of the holiday is three days, Friday to Sunday. It's a weekend that will surely be filled with lots of alcohol, lots of partying and lots of good memories to take home.

Oh and let's not forget about the embarrassing pictures that will be sure to haunt you, as well as the stripper all of the girls collectively hired for your sister. She's going to kill all of you, and you're not even slightly bothered by that.

The journey to the airport was as short as you wanted it to be and now you're just waiting around for the rest of the ladies to arrive. You all agreed to meet outside the airport and you've been here for almost an hour now. Thankfully you haven't been alone, your sister is here with you. The two of you have just had a small catchup of your week before nearly falling off of your suitcase the second you hear a bundle of screams.

As you look up you instantly see Jessica, Lucia, Callie, Myla and Angela. They all have grins that run from ear to ear and you instantly get up, running towards them along with your sister Dalia.

The seven of you all squeeze one another, jumping around in circles and insisting that the weekend is going to be crazy and fun. It's time for the bachelorette to really begin.

"Sooooooo... i brought some shots for us all to take now, to you know, kick things off" Angela says, rummaging through her hand luggage to find 6 bottled shots of tequila. Okay, she didn't come to play around today, one thing you absolutely adore about Angela. She's the biggest party animal of the group and it's the best thing. You know that you'll always have fun with her. No doubt about it.

Whilst you all knock back the shot, faces wincing at the taste, Chris sits at home alone. His feet rest up on the coffee table, something you always tell him off for, as he thinks over what takeout he's going to order tonight.

It's now been two and a half hours and he has no sense of time. He knows this because two and a half hours has felt like five. As dramatic as it seems. But to be perfectly honest, it's most likely due to the beer he's been drinking. This is his third and he's nowhere near ready to stop.

As a man that's always wanted the best for his girlfriend, to want her to have her own career, her own hobbies separate to being with him, he sure is feeling the polar opposite. He wants you here with him, all up in his face with your breathtaking smile as you straddle him. Your lips becoming increasingly enticing. God he's down bad, and he knows it.

Whatever happened to the Chris that enjoyed his space, that enjoyed having alone time? He has zero idea. But it's weird and unfamiliar territory to be in right now. He's lost.

As you were packing last night he kept trying to put your clothes back, his way of jokingly asking you to stay of course. But it didn't work. You're still gone. Granted, it is for your sisters bachelorette and it's only for the weekend, so he guesses he can cope alone. Maybe he'll even call Scott over. Or, he could even pay his beloved mom a visit. Have some family time. Yeah, maybe that'll distract him.

He has the best ideas when intoxicated.

Placing the beer bottle on the coffee table, Chris sits up and pulls his phone out, clicking on his brothers contact to call.

"Wanna come over tonight?" he asks, and it doesn't take long before Scott is won over. Alcohol, pizza and Disney movies? Sold.

Not long after the pizza arrives, Scott does too, with a six pack of beer in hand. Chris already has some in but he’ll never say no to more. Especially since he’s had quite a few since calling Scott to invite him over. 

“You stink of beer and....” Scott steps closer and inhales one last time “is that whiskey?” he asks, voice laced with concern.

“Careful brother, you’re sounding awfully judgemental right now” Chris raises a brow before taking the six pack from his brother and heading into the kitchen.

“I take it Y/N left already” well isn’t he the observant one today.

“She did indeed and i’m fine by the way, a little space is healthy” he isn’t fooling anyone with that lie.

Chris is perfectly fine with you having your own space though, he’s just being overly dramatic as per usual and feeling sorry for himself. He’d never actually stop you from doing your own thing just to stay close to him. He loves that you have an active social life. However, lately he’s just felt the need to be closer to you. Whenever you’ve cuddled it genuinely felt like he wanted to merge with you, if that even makes sense. But you love it. You love this occasional side to him. At least it means he adores you and can’t get enough.

Besides, being that his schedule is so hectic a lot of the time, it’s nice that whenever he does get a break that he likes to be around you every second he can be. It fills you with warmth and security. 

“Sure....” Scott trails off before heading into the lounge with some pizza and a beer with Chris trailing behind slowly, bottle of whiskey in hand as well as the box of pizza. 

The television goes on, more depressing news, nothing to capture Chris’s attention. But with whiskey to compete with, it was hardly ever going to win. Not even politics is pulling him away from his pity party. 

Scott chuckles as Chris eats his pizza whilst staring into the distance, knowing full well his brothers little tantrum will end soon. He’s just a lost puppy right now, worse than Dodger when he doesn’t get his own way. 

It’s all just over dramatised in his own head. Because to Chris, it’s usually him travelling around for press junkets, filming and premiers. However, you usually accompany him for the premiers. Whenever the roles are reversed, he doesn’t know what to do with himself. And he doesn’t remember the last time he felt so strongly about a woman where it lead him to be so clingy. It’s strange. 

“You’ll be okay, quit moping already” typical brotherly love as always from Scott as he rolls his eyes with a smile on his face when passing Chris on his way to the bathroom. 

“Not helpful” Chris grumbles, causing Scott to cackle down the hall, the echo making him laugh twice as hard. 

Chris just shakes his head, half annoyed his brother isn’t trying to make him feel better and half amused at Scotts reaction to his attempt to gain sympathy.

It’ll be a long night by the looks of things so maybe Chris should quit this half feigned and half authentic sadness. Deep down he knows you deserve the chance to let your hair down with your girls and relax. You work so hard, you deserve this break from the boring day to day routine. 

Flight boarded, luggage checked in and now sitting comfortable in your seat, you await the announcement for seatbelts to be fastened and whilst you do so you decide to pull your phone out. Your chat with Chris pops up on your phone as a recent message appears from him.

Chris: Please come back, make this loneliness end

His begging makes you swoon in the strangest way possible. It’s certainly not something you ever saw yourself loving, being as past similar situations have had you cringing, the opposite effect so to speak. But with Chris, it’s something you adore. He’s made you feel things you’ve never felt before. It’s unfamiliar territory every single day with him, unfamiliar in the best way possible though. 

You: You’ll be okay, trust me. Besides, think of the hot reunion sex we’ll have when i’m home...it’ll all feel worth it then. Missing you already. I love you x

Chris: I’ll make sure i get the rose petals ready then. I love you too, have a safe flight and call me when you land x

You: I will, i love you more x

Scott watches Chris’s lips tip up in a grin as he stares down at his iPhone, clearly you sprinkled some attention upon him, there’d be no other explanation, either that or he’s looking at pictures of you like the lovestruck puppy he’s always been just for you. When Chris falls, he falls hard. It’s been known. And Scott has only seen that a small number of times. He’s glad his brother has you in his life.

As Chris places his phone down, smile still rife on his face, not looking to go anywhere anytime soon, he takes a sip of his drink before finishing off his slice of pizza. Just that little text exchange alone was enough to fulfil his craving of you...for now. When he attempts to sleep alone in your shared bed, that’s when he’ll be at his most dramatic. And if only you’d be able to see it, you’d most likely poke fun at him whilst also telling him it’s adorable.

And then you’d laugh, the laugh he’s longing to hear. 

God he really should get a grip of himself. What have you turned him in?

Chris glances out of the window through the slightly open curtains at the sun as it starts to set.

It spurs on memories of the two of you, with Dodger in tow, lounging around outside, a mountain with the most gorgeous view. Steaming hot coffee, in your hand as you sit with you knees to your chest whilst he covers you with edges of a blanket from behind.

It makes him smile a little, his heart warming with just the memory alone.

That's it, he needs to distract himself. He stands up abruptly before making his way to the piano out in the hall.

Taking one last swig of his whiskey before placing it atop of the piano.

His hands scatter across the notes, pressing random ones to familiarise himself, he hasn't played in a hot minute, that's for sure.

After a couple rounds of random chords, he slips into the George Michael classic, Careless Whisper.

Humming along with the music he's making, he slowly starts to murmur the words.

"Tonight the music seems so loud, i wish that we could lose this crowd. Maybe it's better this way, we'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say"

Scott makes his way out to watch as his brother sings beautifully. He's always loved hearing Chris sing, but it's a rarity these days.

"We could have been so good together, we could have lived this dance forever"

Without thinking about it, Scott pulls out his phone, hitting record as Chris pauses to swig more whiskey before continuing seconds later.

"But now, who's gonna dance with me? Please, stay. And i'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm"

More intermittent piano playing fills the hall before he comes back in with the last of the song.

"So i'm never gonna dance again, the way i danced with you" closing out with a couple of notes, he sighs to himself before stopping and turning to Dodger.

"Missing your mommy, bud? Me too"

The fluffy dog doesn't respond in any way, just sits there, silently judging his dad.

And then Scotts laughter breaks him away from his trance.

"That is genius" he says, typing on his phone before popping it away in his pocket.

"What is?" Chris's brows furrow but Scott waves him off. "Oh, nothing, just some tiktok i found. Are you done moping yet?"

With a roll of the eyes, Chris shrugs.

"Possibly. Wanna play Mario Kart?" he suggest, knowing that'll get Scotts full attention.

He nods as the two of them head into the lounge and set up the games console.

Once you land and get your bags altogether, you check your phone in the line to the bathroom at the airport.

A tiktok notification alerts you that Scott has uploaded. You click it to check it out and have to immediately turn the volume down until you can put your earphones in. Once they are, you play it from the start.

It's a video of Chris, he's sat at the piano, Dodger sat by his side. He starts to sing to no one in particular. But it's the song he sings that makes your heart swell with love.

"George Michael" you say out loud, well, you whisper it.

He seems so lost without you. Maybe you should text him.

Midway through his second win, Scott groans as Chris pauses the game to check his phone that just went off.

Y/N: Landed safely. I'll call you later when we get to the beach house. P.s you really should sing more often, i loved your video x

Frowning at the last part, Chris mumbles to himself.

But as he goes to ask Scott, his phone starts to blow up, notification after notification. Twitter, Instagram, TikTok. It's nonstop.

He opens TikTok first, only to be horrified to find that Scott filmed him singing earlier.

As soon as Scotts eyes meet Chris's, he knows he's found.

"Oh you are so dead"

Scott gets up and runs with Chris chasing him. Some things never change.

i think matty was too dismissive of people's concerns and he should really, truly apologize for all of the shitty, racist crap he said.

but at the same time, I think some of what he said is real. like all of us being so worked up online over one person is a bit ridiculous. representation matters and who we hold up in our society matters, but if we really don't like him and don't like taylor for dating him, then we as individuals should just move on, not give him/them our money, stop running our fan blogs, etc. writing pages and pages about someone online is something people do ultimately just to make themselves feel better and like they're a good person.

or, if you still want to be a taylor fan, we don't need to see your long, drawn out explanation for why that's ultimately still justifiable because x y and z. just say you are still supporting her without writing a whole explanation about why you're actually still a good person.

i generally agree with you. no comment on whether matty should have apologized better, really. i think he should've but i absolutely did NOT expect it and will not expect it in the future.

this reply got super long but it was inspired by conversations i've been having with some pals in dms and irl, and how the conversation has evolved (or not evolved) online. so i might be guilty of your last paragraph here and if i am being a holly stallcup right now, so be it!

but there are two things i personally believe about this situation:

a) matty has said and done gross things and now taylor is associating with him (to put it lightly), and people are struggling to cope with that. it's deeply unpleasant to know she wants to date this idiotic edgelord.

b) remaining a fan of taylor's music is truly not indicative of how you personally feel about the issues of racism, sexism, antisemitism, bigotry, and so on.

i think most of fandom on tumblr shares both of these feelings. however, it's a process. some people idolize taylor way and so the idea of giving her up, or changing their perspective/relationship with her, is REALLY hard. a lot of fans are just thinking out loud and processing in real-time, and i think that should be encouraged, because i believe acknowledging taylor's different political opinions or behaviors is critical to moving on to more productive political engagement. it's a good mental exercise, especially for people who are in the early stages of their social justice education.

on the other hand, i see a lot of in-fighting going on; there's been a lot of shaming of other fans, posts suggesting you are "bad fan" or "bad person" if you aren't loudly decrying taylor enough.

and the thing is, the real issue here is racism and bigotry and creating a more just society. a symptom of this issue is that matty, and men as a whole, make comments or jokes like this as a matter of course. why is that? how do we coexist with men who find violence against women, and especially women of color, joke-worthy? if, at the end of the day, we share the same larger political goal as matty, of wanting a better and more just world for everyone, then how do we make sense of his "jokes" in relation to his politics? is it possible you can have a deeply shitty view of x and y issues, and still care about justice in some form (ie, can men in the dirtbag left still add value to social justice movements)? and when we hold people accountable for those hurtful behaviors or words or beliefs, what are we expecting? is it reasonable? do we want education and forgiveness or do we want to exile people who fuck up? what level of fuck up requires exile and which require forgiveness? what are the pros and cons of each and how do those decisions get us to the overall end goal of creating a just world for everyone?

these are, imo, the real concerns. these are what we are trying to talk about when we talk about matty's racist comments. the real issue is not whether you still enjoy reblogging gifs of taylor or if you still want to go to her concert or if you still listen to her music. and unfortunately a lot of the well-meaning conversations people are having end up sounding like taylor is the biggest problem here.

hi firstly oh my gosh you're literally so sweet i am gently shaking you i love you so much /p. secondly, i apologize for the long answer! (it's all under the cut. this got away from me. i'm so sorry apparently i have a lot to say.) (also you're so good about the questions i would constantly be asking one of my professors questions during class to the point where she said i didn't have to go "i have a question" every time i approached her)

i've been editing since 2016! around march/april, i think? loved it so much i went into film & video production in college as a major so i could do editing for a living. (i have done more motion graphics for my classmates than i have done edits outside of class assignments, BUT!)

the program i use is after effects - i started learning it when covid first hit the united states because i had nothing better to do with my time (other than music theory but i failed that bc my professor focused more on the history aspects than the actual theory soooo) and my ipad kept giving me the "no more storage" whenever i tried to use videostar lmao. (vs has, apparently, gotten a LOT of good updates, so if you're looking to start editing and have an ios system, i'd look into it! only downside is you have to pay for some of the cool stuff).

also the program i use for masking (i think i explain this later dwdw) is superimpose. i've been using it since 2014 and it's SO nice bc i can use my fingers to erase backgrounds & stuff instead of hoping i can get it to work correctly in ae or photoshop (photoshop my DETESTED i'll use it but i'll complain the entire time).

for people who want to start editing: tutorials on how your program works and how to do specific transitions are gonna be your best friend when you're first figuring things out! i forced a friend to literally walk me through how after effects worked when i was first figuring it out, and when i had swapped to videostar back in 2017/2018(?) i had watched a Lot of tutorials. that and played around a lot and figured things out on my own - which is also always a good way to start!! it's also totally valid to look at other people's edits for inspiration - most editors don't really care, as long as you don't flat-out remake their edit (some people don't like that!). i have a style insp folder on instagram where i save edits that i like so if i need transition ideas or i'm doing a different style, i can look there for inspiration. at the end of the day, as long as you're having fun with it that's all that matters!

also, starting simple is always okay!! my edits for a year were just me slapping gifs & video segments together on a timeline in cute cut pro bc imovie didn't load them lol & it'd crash every time i breathed. ++ it never hurts to ask people for feedback/constructive(!!!) criticism/etc! (also not to sound like everyone else but practice? good. it's so good. if i showed my 14/15y/o self some of the edits i can make now they would've passed out on the spot bc i was still trying to figure out transitions back then. programs can also sometimes make a difference in edits, but usually it's not super noticeable until you start getting to the Complicated Shit.)

a lot of popular programs i've seen are ones like video star (ios only), alight motion (android only), after effects (i recommend 🏴‍☠️ing it tbh, i only use it legally bc i had to use adobe programs for school), capcut, and i think some people still use sony vegas pro & maybe cute cut pro (i've heard it may have actually gotten better since i last used it in 2018)? i have no idea. programs also depend on whatever device you're using to edit on! since i've been using my laptop, i'm able to use after effects (it's computer-only), but when i used my phone/ipad to edit i used ccp & vs.

for the animation - it's a lot of cutting up the image and masking! more complex animations, like the one i had of leo walking down that red 'hallway' have several different layers that have been masked. (i removed the background & filled in the spot where leo originally was in two different apps - superimpose (taking leo out) & photoshop (filling in the bg)) in after effects, the way i've done this was mask out the specific thing i wanted to move (like an eye) and then put that mask on what i've called a "base" (not animated), and then stick a solid behind the base to match the color of the object. (some of my layers are not named appropriately; base 2 is the left arm & the four "SIX_[...]" layers are the mask/bandana tails)

an example of this would be for any of the eye blink animations i did! this (above) is the same shot, with and without the eye - since it's masked out and i have the background solid behind it, it doesn't look too unnatural/have a black outline/mass where his eye should be.

this is what my timeline looks like if it's a more simplistic animation - the only five things being animated here are leo & raph's eyes. (there's only this many layers bc it's two characters in one shot & i was also animating their pupils - typically, an eye-blink animation is about 4-6 layers for me (solid, base, mask, & null to animate with, 6 if i'm animating both eyes & 4 if just one))

in after effects, there's this really cool tool called the puppet pin that one of my friends (lovingly) yelled at me for not knowing about - which. yeah fair she wasn't wrong it's SUPER useful in animating, provided you chop up your image first. if you don't it's a mess.

(separated by layer vs i should've really put the mask tails & leo's head on separate layers and didn't bc that was the 2nd to last animation i had to do and i was losing my mind bc i wanted to be done with the edit lmao)

the way people animate depends all on their style (there's two common ways to do blinking animation - having the anchor point at the bottom of the eye, or the middle of it) and the program they use. it's been a while, but i could probably tell you how to do some basic animations on videostar still even though i've been doing them in after effects for about 2-3years now. ALSO the best way to have an animation be noticeable is to over-exaggerate it/make them Big - which, yes, can mean 'breaking bones' and having the limbs be a little wonky at the start. (if you want it to be realistic though go Just to the point where it looks uncomfortable lmao)

originally i was looking at, what i think is the same keyboard as felix, which is the GMMK Pro. however, after looking at other keyoards, i think i might go with the Keychron Q1 Pro. it's basically the same body as the GMMK Pro, but it has better reviews. when i was initially getting into mechanical keyboards, i was looking at keychrons, but they were too pricy for a beginner keyboard. but now that i want to fully customize one, i think this is the best route! it's a fully aluminum body, which i've been looking for... a good potential weapon in case of a home invasion...

anyway! i'm looking at keycaps too! i found some that i want, but of course... they're out of stock! i did sign up to be notified when they come back in stock. but i am kind of torn between a few options of keycaps... and maybe i'll post a poll so you can vote!

Hi i’m a gif maker and i’m always trying to improve them but coloring is something i always struggle on. like i have no idea where to really start tbh. i saw you’re ofmd gif coloring post and just wanted to know if you’d be willing to share any tips and beginner level stuff on the color adjustment side of gif making?

Hmm, well, I am by no means a pro at this, but sure, I can tell you what I know - or, at least, the way I do the colouring :) (I will assume you use Photoshop for your gifs?)

✨ Personally, I like to start by playing with the light -that is, brightening up the gif and enhancing the light & dark spaces -; and for that I use these adjustment layers:

levels (especially this one)

curves

brightness/contrast

And I just move the sliders/values this way and that, until I like the way the light in the gif looks.

Even with just the Levels themselves, the light in the image/clip can be enhanced nicely, like here:

I also use all three of these adjustment layers together in a gif- since they all work nicely with each other :).

✨ For the colouring itself, my main to go adjustments are:

Selective Color (that's my main one)

Color Balance

For them, -I don't know if it's a tip, but it's something I like to do ^^, and that is -> I create a new layer for every color (or tone type, with Color Balance): so I end up having several Selective Color & several Color Balance adjustment layers, each with only one color adjusted/changed. (Another thing I do, I put all adjustment layers into a group [or few groups]; so that I can toggle it off/on en masse and quickly see what effect I'm accomplishing).

And for adjusting the Selective Color and Color Balance, I will play with the sliders, one color at a time/per adjustment layer- ; move every slider to the left and to the right, several times, until I decide 'okay that looks good'. (And you can nicely bring out the colour with these effects)

✨ Hmm I'd also advice to move sliders slowly and bit by bit; both for the light effects and color effects. Moving them too fast/too far, makes you hit extremes quickly and ruins how the gif looks.

✨ I also redo the layers all the time, fiddling with the sliders, toggling layers on/off, just trying to get a feel for the image and which effects on it I like; so, I guess, my tip is:

don't be afraid to go back to previously added adjustment layers and change them or to move layers around or turn effects off -or to add several of the same adjustment layer type -> sometimes that's what works, having a few layers of the same type but with different settings on them.

✨ Also, before I even start adding adjustment layers, I use the option on the timeline called "Convert to Video Timeline", then I select all layers in the layer window/panel on the right, and right click the option Convert to Smart Object. That way when I add adjustment layers, I can just move cursor over the timeline, and see how the colouring looks at any point in the gif. :)

I feel like all I said is, add adjustment layers and fiddle with the sliders until you like how the image/gif looks; but that's how I do it 🤷‍♀️ Others may have different methods 🙃 (I also do additional colouring in Sony Vegas, but that's a whole different thing, and it's not a requirement for gif colouring ^^.)

Here's the adjustment layers on one of my Ed gifs. As you can see, there's no logic or reason to it, just a mess of interspersed light and color adjustments. But in the end that's what worked for that gif 🙃

Now that I'm on a roll with the complaints, I'm still kinda baffled at Kirigan's whole thing. I don't understand his plans or motivations because from the way the show has unfolded it honestly appears like was reasonably chill if somewhat schemey for a long time and then just totally flipped and decided to become a cartoon villain. I understand Baghra's motivations even less. But maybe that's the point?

Frankly, it's a little difficult to care about anything that is going on in Alina's story, except Genya and David, especially when the Crow side is firing on all cylinders so to speak. The mashup worked better last season, now the difference is getting obvious. Alina's story feels more and more like a fairytale in comparison, and within the same show it's a weird whiplash.

Hi! This is part 2. Wow I just watched the video of him singing since I had a chance and was pretty impressed. His voice was low and Stars is such a hard song to sing so I guess I'm not worried anymore, that he can't pull off the role because of singing. We will see how it goes but hopefully I can watch the proshot of Merrily first lol.

Speaking of pro shots, I also heard about the Bonnie and Clyde one and would love to watch Jeremy in that so hopefully I will at some point but I'm not sure when. Like I'm worried If I rent it, my sister and I won't have time to watch or she will be tired idk. I also don't know whatever happened to the Waitress one either. Btw, for your vibes, my instinct was to go with Les Mis cuz it reminds me of you. Not just because of your name either, but because how much you love it..but your vibes also match with Waitress too! It just makes sense.

Anyway I was able to find an Aaron Sweeney bootleg and a Jeremy Little Shop one so maybe I will watch them this week. After some digging, I guess it's alright or easy to find but I was more interested in ones currently still on Broadway and I'm not sure they will be available yet. However there might be a Gatsby video out there since I think I saw it giffed. I didn't have a chance to watch the Lempicka one yet either or listen to the Gatsby cast album yet, but I'm listening later today and will share my thoughts. Also I just found a copy of the book the other day so maybe I will finally read it! I need to get back into reading again as a better distraction haha. Instead I listened to The Notebook, Illinoise and Water For Elephants. Suffs is fine..I listened to it twice and it has some catchy songs but wasn't into the story or anything and found it slightly hard to follow, but it was also the only original musical the season so I guess that's something. I don't really have too many thoughts about it but people always like different things. Like I love the Outsiders based on the story and music but I know a lot of people absolutely hate it for winning best musical. I would hope you would like it but if you didnt, that's also okay. I think what I loved about the Notebook and The Outsiders is that they feel almost totally separate from the movie to me now, in a good way. Like I love both, and I was using the movie to follow the story listening to the songs, but i wasn't like..this is exactly like the movie..they truly offered something a little different and the songs matched the stories. What are your favorite songs from the Notebook? Also, what did you think of the casting choices and how the parts were swapped with their races with the old couple? At first my sister and I were confused but then they said that was the point. Also are you an Ingrid Michaelson fan? I found out she has an album coming out next month too. If you wanna share more about what watching the show is like, with the rain scene maybe, I would love that too!

I am not as familiar with the Water for Elephants movie..but listening almost made me wanna watch it again to see if it was similar or different. I only watched it once so I couldn't really remember much about it. I'm a fan of Izzy Mccalla, Grant Gustin and Paul Alexander Nolan so I enjoyed it. I'd say it did have parts of a more Broadway sound with some of the circus stuff and in general talk singing dialogue in the show. My sister and I noticed that 3 and a half shows had to do with an affair from the women being taken and we thought that was funny. The Notebook, Gatsby and Water for Elephants lol. Anyway you might like it if you wanna give it a listen. I liked Illinoise but also couldn't get much of the story and it felt like listening or imitating Sufjan so I'm sure it's better to watch since I couldn't get much of the story. Hell's Kitchen I was able to follow some or most of the story and am a fan of the singing and performers too, like Shoshana Bean so it's maybe worth a listen. We also said how there was a mix of stories that were teen and adult, and also a lot they were looking back on the past. That could be cuz a lot of them are based on books though lol.

Omg of course I've watched the Spring Awakening bootleg haha. Sometimes I just pick a few songs to listen to, that's why instead of the whole thing or watching but I love it so much! I love that there's nothing else quite like it. I think the only thing I really compare it to is like Next to Normal, and that could be biased. One because of Aaron and Jonathan who are similar performers to me, and two because these were the first musicals I learned about that werent based on anything and also the first bootlegs I watched lol. I think a performance of the show would be so cool so i'm sorry you didn't like the show! What was so wrong with it if you don't mind saying?

Also happy anniversary to Speak Now TV! I might be a day late but still. How does the album hold up for you and what's your opinion of the vault songs? Idk if we ever talked about it. I haven't really been into Taylor as much but I forgot to mention that she sang Castles Crumbling with Hayley Williams about a week ago and it made me nostalgic for my show. Hayley Williams also posted about it being 1 year and Taylor didn't lol. She also sang Mary's Song! But too bad it was only part of it. I haven't been guessing surprise songs as much but I actually guessed that she would sing a song from debut and mash it up with a song from Red..which was right, but just the wrong songs lol. She also sang a I Can See You and Mine mashup which actually sound a bit similar in the beginning of the songs. It's too bad she already played it instead of doing something to celebrate it. I'm guessing she will be singing Last Kiss tomorrow cuz of July 9th and i am putting it here so I can be right for once! Idk if it will be on guitar or piano cuz it could go either way. I also think she might sing the whole song instead of mashing it up..and maybe she will sing Timeless again since she seems to be in a romantic mood. I just noticed they sort of rhyme so they could be almost mashed up lol but I think that's all I'm gonna guess for now haha. I hope I'm right! I haven't got around to listening to those albums yet but I will next week. I am spending another week on Broadway stuff with Gatsby, a musical cast album called The Violet Hour that Jeremy and other Broadway people sing on, and possibly Lempicka after I watch it this weekend. 🩷 i'm so sorry for the awkward delay in replying! my friend showed up early to get me for the basketball game we went to tonight </3 although honestly... if i hadn't been distracted (buying oh mary tickets) i definitely would've had time to answer the rest of this ask before i left. in the time it took for me to answer that last ask and start answering this one i bought tickets to see the thursday oh mary 5pm matinee. bailey loves me and is putting up with me and my nonsense. i also have a packed schedule now. oh well!

i was also impressed when i heard him sing! i was like oh! okay! i am really, really excited for the merrily proshot and i hope it does not take years for it to be released. but at least it's been filmed!

i haven't gotten around to watching it yet but i do need to! loveeee bonnie & clyde! i was listening to the west end cast recording earlier! you could always wait to rent until you know you have time! i did laugh about the les mis thing; i was definitely expecting it to win and was pleasantly surprised when waitress won! waitress is one of my favorites though (obviously) so i am quite pleased with that result.

a lot of the songs on the notebook took a while to grow on me! my days is obviously a favorite, so is iron in the fridge, but there are just so many that really get to me (i always cry when i listen to it). i think it was a bit odd! i remember being like ?????? when i saw it and also when i heard the casting announcement and a lot of the audience was like ??????? but! they are all such good actors. and i am! i love ingrid michaelson's music! the chain is one of my favorite songs of all time. very excited for her album! oh gosh the rain scene is done SO well!! i will elaborate on this after i've seen it again but i remember being SO impressed with it!

i will give water for elephants a listen soon! my friend saw it and liked it but didn't love it :( i think the big sell of illinoise is that it's dance heavy ( i heard it's more like vignettes rather than a cohesive plot of a show ) so i really hope we get a bootleg and that it tours someday!

oh gosh there was so much that went wrong with the production i saw! i have a lot of ... thoughts on that theatre and their artistic direction. i love love loved the revival, and i think the direction + staging + double casting added a lot of complexity to the show. and so i think seeing anything after that would've been a disappointment, but i think my mediocre show experience was really down to two things: 1) a bad show + 2) a bad audience. i think shows do themselves a disservice when they treat their audience like they're stupid. everyone knows that the songs in spring awakening are about ... what they're about. we do not need it spelt out for us. the set didn't do it any favors (it was very bare/minimal — wooden chairs, some trees, and two big rocks that the actors kept tripping over). the casket in the left behind scene was a chair and it was very ... odd. the costumes weren't very great, but the one thing i will not understand is the choice to put wendla and moritz in grim reaper sims-esque outfits (i get why i just think they were very off putting and also jarring in comparison to everything else). a lot of the reviews said the wendla and moritz were terrible; we had an understudy moritz (who admittedly also wasn't great) but i really don't think the wendla was bad at all — she just didn't come off as naive/innocent as i feel like wendla starts off being, but she wasn't like that terrible. the moritz and martha were the saving grace of this show; very clearly talented, out-acted and out-sung everyone else. just very, very good in a very, very mediocre production of spring awakening. a lot of the actors chose (or were told to?) riff as much as they could, which ... well could is a stretch, but also spring awakening is not a show you riff through. and audience etiquette was just absolutely horrid, like why are you laughing at the most inappropriate scenes? why are you hooting and hollering like it's a sports game? it was just ... so deeply terrible. i hate to say it but i understand why one of our local reviewers called it a two dimensional one note show.

happy (incredibly belated) speak now taylor's version anniversary to you too! i haven't actually listened to taylor much lately, but i think the album holds up fine and my favorite vault songs from it still haven't changed (foolish one, castles crumbling, timeless). i still think red has the best vault, and then i would say fearless, then speak now, then 1989. what about you? i really wish she had sung mary's song in full :/ same with a place in this world. i think the mashups are a fun concept, but i don't think i like them all that much — i'd rather hear the songs in full, and i think sometimes they're mashups just for the sake of having a mashup vs. something that has a clear theme + is thought out. if you could hear her do any two mashups (one on piano, and one on guitar), what would you choose?

i haven't really been listening to a whole lot! i listened to the new clairo album today and loved it (i love clairo, so i wasn't shocked that i loved it), and have still been mostly looping brat! aside from that i haven't really been listening to much!

PISCES AND CANCER RISINGS:

“THE EYES, CHICO. THEY NEVER LIE”.

In my opinion, this is one of the easiest rising signs to tell (cancer rising being the easiest). Despite being the same element and their main noticeable trait being their eyes, these two signs are soooo different appearance wise. CANCER RISINGS always look like they are on the brink of tears. As children they were the pro type look for “wide eyed and innocent”. The best example of this look is the 1960’s model Twiggy (seen in the second gif). She is one of the most famous models in the world due to a big eyes which gave her her signature look.

PISCES RISINGS are a little different. I’ve noticed that this rising sign usually has a smaller, slanted, downturned look to their eyes. When you look in their eyes you are not sure if they are fully there or not, it always seems like they are dreaming. I feel like cancer risings have a more innocent look where as pisces risings look more seductive. One thing these two have in common is that it’s very hard for them to hide their emotions, it always shows on their face.

CAPRICORN RISNG:

“THE UNSMILING BEAUTY”

I must say I’m a bit biased with this rising sign because I am so obsessed with how they look. Always have the most beautiful facial structures, their beauty is literally striking! This rising sign usually intimidates people due to their serious look but I have many Capricorn rising friends and I love them dearly. With the influence of Saturn on the 1st house they are usually late bloomers and don’t really tap into their beauty until they get older. But, as they age they continue to look better. Papa Saturn always has your backs.

LEO RISING:

“THE LIONS MANE”

One thing I envy about this rising sign is their HAIR. Oh my god, i have no encounter a Leo rising who’s hair wasn’t absolutely gorgeous. They either have really large voluminous hair or super healthy hair. The sun sits on the first house cusps with this chart so they tend to literally radiate. In my opinion, this is always the easiest rising to spot.

LIBRA RISING:

“BEAUTY INCARNATE”

Libra risings are honestly soooo beautiful. One of my favourite men to date and most of the women I look up to have Libra risings. Always so put together and have such an effortless and natural beauty to them. Their Venus on their first house cusps makes people like them so easily (they are usually aware of this so they use this to their advantage). It usually works because people naturally gravitate towards beautiful people. I find that despite being gorgeous, many Libra risings don’t find themselves beautiful. Strange.
