Ahh, I just had another thought imagine Kageyama, who has fallen in love with Hinata Shoyo, because he is the first person to accept him despite his selfishness, despite his flaws. Hinata doesn't care that he's an asshole, and instead of ignoring him and leaving him alone, he fights back and doesn't stop fighting until he gets what he wants. Hinata understands his poor humor and what he's trying to say when the words don't come out right. Kageyama is jealous of hinata and falls in love with him. He wants to play against him but stay by his side the entire time simultaneously. He wants Hinata. But que Hinata, who loves Kageyama, but not romantically. Hinata might be oblivious in his own feelings, but he's hyper aware of other people's feelings. As the man of the house, he's gotten used to noticing little things about people and taking care of people. That's his job at home. Of course, it'd apply on the court. And since Kageyama is his setter, he's even *more* hyper aware of his feelings. They're completely in sync, so it'd make sense that Hinata notices when kageyama blushes more than usual and makes a point to try and compliment hinata more than usual, even if it doesn't come out right. Hinata knows kageyama likes him, and the others do too, and they assume hinata likes him too because he's already so close and touchy with people he likes, as he is with kenma, and they joke abt kageyama and hinata, so hinata tries *so* hard to make himself like kageyama back, because isn't he *supposed* to like him back? Because he does love kageyama. He loves being with him and playing with him, and he wants to play against him, too. So why doesn't he want to kiss kageyama the way he knows kageyama wants to kiss him? And when kageyama confesses his feelings, hinata doesn't know what to do, so they kiss, but hinata doesn't feel anything. Kageyama smiles afterward, and hinata smiles because kageyama's happy and smiling, but it's wrong to fake feelings, and he doesn't want to ruin things, but he *has* to tell him the truth. So he rushes into it saying "imreallyreallysorrytobiobutidontfeelthesamewayitriedbutidontimreallysorryifileadyouonimsorryimsorryimsorryyyy" bc yk he's a people pleaser and it's like that audio from that 70s show (I think) "will you marry me?" "Oh michael!!" "Congradu-" "no!" "What the hell?!" With the rest of the team. And then hinata is so sick, throwing up from anxiety, he stays home for like 3 days and is ignoring kageyama bc he feels so bad.

I'm gonna say something that I have a feeling will get me sm hate,, but I don't like kagehina. I ship them sure, I don't think it's a bad ship. If I see cute kagehina art or wtv, I'll like it, of course I will. But personally, I cannot see them in a relationship. I agree 100% that they are soulmates! They bring out the very best (and worst) in each other, and they were meant to be. They both got into Karasuno by fate, yk? But I don't see any of this romantically. I am a sucker for grumpy x sunshine tropes, but a different Haikyuu ship fulfills that for me. Kageyama and Hinata deserve each other, and the friendship they have made is everything to me, I just can't see them dating. I think if they did start dating, their stubbornness and tempers would get in the way, and it'd be an off and on off and on relationship, or it just wouldn't last very long. Maybe they dated in hs, and that failed, but tried again in adulthood, and it worked out. I could see that more tbh.
