“last time you said that, we ended up making out for thirty minutes and you got late for your schedule,” and ironically enough, it’s the same scenario right how— him asking for a kiss before he leaves for whatever schedules he has for the day. truthfully, kissing him isn’t a problem, the process is. 

it’s the way it feels. 

“i’m a changed man now,” he sounds a little too prideful when he says that, trying his best to convince you, clearly vexed by this whole situation. “stop playing hard to get, sweetheart. i know you want to kiss me too,”

“fine, just five minutes,” is what you both settle on when he nods at your words, leaning in towards you, tracing his thumb over your lips ever so gently. “and keep your tongue to yourself,”

“mhm, whatever you say,” you know he’s going to do it anyway, and you can’t be bothered to comment back. you’re too busy savouring the moment as his lips graze against your jaw, trailing down to your neck before you hear him chuckle softly. “see, i knew you couldn’t wait to kiss me. i look very kissable, i know that,”

and you just roll your eyes, pretending to disagree although the smile on your face says otherwise. he’s irresistible, you know that, he knows that. he feels it in the way your head tilts back, an invitation for him to continue. “bragging about yourself makes you very unkissable, hoon,”

the tip of his nose brushes against your neck, fluttering kisses pressed all the way down to your collarbone. “then, shut me up,” 

and you do, pressing your lips against him; a kiss that deepens when his hands settle on your nape, pulling you closer. you’re reminded again— it’s the process of kissing sunghoon that is the problem. the feeling, his lips on yours, how intoxicatingly sweet it feels and how you end up drowning in the taste, despite all the refusal from just a few minutes ago. 

you feel him smiling against your lips, a sign that the history is repeating itself, because his hand is on your waist, tongue brushing against your lips, his phone is buzzing on the table just a few steps away— probably a call from sunoo. another scheduled attended late, but sunghoon doesn’t care because you’re in his arms, and it’s not long until you finally give in.

okay i've gotta ask at this point. what. what is pursuit AU. I genuinely have no idea about any of it

Okay so basically it's a sequel to the fic that I refer to as YBM. I refer to the whole AU as "YBM/Pursuit AU" so if I refer to an individual part I just say the singular name (like if I'm talking about Pursuit specifically I just say "Pursuit"). I'm so normal about this AU

Anyways it's an Omori fic series so spoilers for the game under the cut

So the plot of YBM (full title "You're Back, Mari" which in itself is an Omori spoiler LMAO) it's complicated but it can be easily summarized as "Hero goes batshit insane and everyone has to deal with the consequences." The long version of it though is that Hero has spent so long repressing his grief over Mari's death that he starts hallucinating her ghost. You see, in this AU not long before Mari's death (iirc anyways, Fake-Ghost Mari could've said this it's been a long while since I've last read the fic tbh) the two of them had a conversation and Hero made a promise that, if anything ever happened to Mari, that we would look after her younger brother named Sunny. In the present, since Hero is currently Losing It™️ this promise of care turns into extreme overprotective behavior that actually ends up harming Sunny more than it helps. Don't worry though there's a happy ending to the fic where Hero starts his journey of healing and regaining his friends' trust

Anyways the Pursuit story takes place after the bad ending of YBM where Hero honest to god kidnaps Sunny. I am not joking this actually happens just stay with me here. After a timeskip of around five years after the events of YBM, Sunny gets rescued by another major character (Kel). The rest of the fic follows two major plotlines: the friend group all learning to readjust to having their (presumed to be dead but clearly still alive) friend back with them and working through their different traumas together, and then the process of Hero on a mission to find and (in his mind) "rescue" Sunny. There are three endings to this fic and they all make me want to saw off my feet (POSITIVE)

YBM is around 197k words and Pursuit is around 160k? I think?? This isn't even addressing stuff from YBM's cut content and the Pursuit Hero x Reader (queerplatonic) fic that the author wrote <- I AM DEAD SERIOUS THIS IS REAL. This all went on from like March 10th, 2021 to April of 2022. The fic series itself is close to 400k words of total posted/published writing. Right now the fic is listed under anonymous because people can't fucking read and think the fic is about shipping 😭😭

ITS NOT ABOUT SHIPPING.... ITS ABOUT THE TRAGEDY OF HOW DEEP CARE FOR OTHERS CAN TURN SOMEONE INTO SOMETHING UNRECOGNIZABLE...... the story is so deeply entrenched with concepts revolving around love and care and protection and the lengths people will go to in order to "save" the people they care about. HI!! i’m the anon who went to the saudi trip yesterday and boy do i have an update

okay so, when we went to the cultural center, it was GORGEOUS i wish i could put some pics (you can search saudia ithra) but it was HUUGEEE and the building was stunning

first they took us to the library area. FOUR FLOORS FILLED WITH BOOKS I WAS SO EXCITEDDDDDD I found some books i’ve been wanting to read so bad but it’s borrow only </3

then when the other bus of students came, the tour started and this woman explained to us about the impact islam had on some of the art pieces and its significance in the first gallery.

then she took us to another gallery which shows old artifact and calligraphy, even some pieces dating back to 1200 years ago WHICH IS CRAZYYYY. i saw old fighting armor and swords which was so fucking awesome?? like WOAH?? there were also some gorgeous paintings which showed how calligraphers often worked closely with painters, illuminators and gilders to create pages of great beauty from illuminated frontispieces for manuscripts of the Holy Qur'an and i was basically in awe the entire time.

we saw some crazy huge completely handmade carpentry and ceramic which was stunning. the mechanics of it (from what i understood) was that it was build to bring cool air in and keep it there back in the day. they showed us spanish pottery, also so beautiful that i fear my storage is gonna explode from HOW many pictures i took 🧍‍♀️

after that, they took us to the energy/science exhibit and the science nerd in me was jumping up and down but unfortunately they were rushing because we had to go and eat BUT it was so much fun there were tiny games where you could play and see how extracting oil works, how anticline and fault traps work for oil and how certain rocks are formed. i wwiiiisshh we continued since there also was a knowledge tower which i was interested in going.

after eating, they took us to this walk open area with restaurants and cafes to chill a little before we had to go. and as we were JUST about to leave, someone fainted and from there it went downhill because someone had a panic attack about it and it was crazy but thank god they’re okay. but when we were in the bus, a girl who was with the one who fainted told us that she had heart and stomach problems but didn’t take her medication soon and only took it after she drank coffee on an empty stomach and apparently her antibiotics were super strong and you had to eat first which is why she passed out and wasn’t able to move for a bit. god bless her soul i’m so glad she’s okay but girl 🧍‍♀️ and apparently it wasn’t the first time she’s done this especially since she knows how bad it can get? 😭

but she’s good now, i’m beyond happy about that and we reached back home at 9:30 pm when we were supposed to go back home at 5:30 pm 🧍‍♀️ over all it was reallllly fun despite the little turn of events.

the art and history section ahhhh! i love art history that it's so cool that you learned all of that and was able to experience it all in person, definitely a little jelly haha. the armor and swords!!!! i love seeing that stuff so much, i could stare at it for forever just picking out the interstate details they'd put into those kind of thinks back then, and how they actually used to fight wearing it! 1200 years ago is insaneeeee, even now i'm still wrapping my head around humans being around for that long and all the advances that were made back then! i'd be in awe too if i wear you girl (and the photo storage i get that too, so many thing to capture but so little room on my phone)

THE INSANE INSTRUMENTALS OF DEEP DIVE LITERALLY MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M A SWIMMER, diving in deep into the ocean & the sound of water resonating in my ears 😭 YUNHO'S line which was revealed in the album showcase live, the one that obviously left hotteoks & atinys w their jaw on the floor ever since. THE WAY HE PRONOUNCES "BODY" AND "TOXIC" IN THOSE LINES. HOLY SHITTTTT, THAT line keeps repeating in my mind with yunho's vocals there 😭 I also really loved when san said "higher hights than deeper lows" 🙏 SO GOOD. Joong and mingi's rap parts here >>>>>>>>

2. ICE ON MY TEETH

I have been TOTALLY obssessed with the entire song itself, even more bc of the insane MV we've got. But what has me totally hooked are the violin instrumentals throughout this entire masterpiece. Ice on my teeth itself is such a new & unique concept, idek how they manage to give us smth new EVERY time - something we can't even predict or expect. AND it has us going nuts everytime & all they deserve is immense appreciation for this level of authenticity.

Ever since the album preview, HONGJOONG'S "I got diamonds at my dentist" has me going particularly insane. Reason? It sounds so damn addictive??? Wooyo, yun and san got the same lyrics/lines in the song i believe and they made it sound so addictive too😩🙏 I also really love jongho's parts in the entire song. Bro ate it up w them golden vocals🙏

3. MAN ON FIRE

so I'll get straight to the point for this ond. The lyrics. THE GOD DAMN LYRICS. the second half of the song is literally them singing over & over again "I need you so bad, want you so bad." LIKE HELLO????? ATEEZ WHAT RHE FUCK

San and hwa's chorus sounds soo powerful, starting with "I got no way" and the "never no way" is soo addictive too. 🔥

For Enough, I'd say that the song as a whole is my absolute fav 💖 I really, really love how majority of the song has English lyrics except for joong and mingi's rap lyrics in kr (which have great meaning too😭)

The lyrics for enough had me switching up from crying to feeling like I'm on top of the world. Idek how to explain it, it's like I'm being comforted and triggered all at once 😭

Seriously tho, the lyrics for this one is something we all needed, it comforted all of us because it's RELATABLE STUFF.

Day 62 8/28/2021

Hi again! Today was also very chill. This week overall hasn’t been too crazy which was nice because of all the transitions with the new crew.

-Dana wasn’t feeling great in the morning so I worked in the dry lab. I responded to some emails and continued tackling that beast of a spreadsheet. Then Dana came back from her rest and we planned our next week out and got our calendar nice and organized

-Lunch was insaneeeee! Dan, one of new cooks, made hummus and naan. Like come onnnnnnnn are you kidding me. And Chris, also a cook, made all of us the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever! It was soooooo good oh my goodness. And for dessert Dan made oatmeal, coconut, chocolate chip, raisin cookies. They are insaneeeee! Wow we are eating good!

-In the afternoon, Dana and I headed back to our mosquito trap to collect the catch. We biked there on North beach road which is always an adventure. Not only do you have to dodge crabs, fallen nuts and seeds, but there are also mud patches that you have to go full speed into so you don’t get stuck. It’s always very fun

-After that, we headed to the lab and put our catch in the freezer to look at another day. We also preserved the mosquitoes we found in the other trap and entered in some data

-Then we headed out to sea to join the Cocos on the COTs (Crown of Thorn Sea Star survey) at Western Terrace. It was very windy and stormy again but the visibility was incredible! I saw some new fishies and getting a lot better at IDing them. There are just sooo many species here. Particularly wrasses and parrotfish which look different depending on their stage and whether their male or female. I don’t know if I’ll get good enough to tell them apart but it’s still fun to try!

Some new fish I saw were Meyers Butterflyfish, Reticulated Butterflyfish, Tear drop Butterflyfish, and Spot Banded Butterflyfish. I am sure I have seen these before but this time I knew what they were called! I also saw a very big black tip shark that got very close and a small sea turtle. Towards the end of the snorkel, I was heading back to the boat and dove down to check out a fish when I spotted a teeny tiny octopus!!!! I flipped out and got so excited. It was halfway out of its hole when I saw it’s white head and eyeballs. When I went back down to see it again it came out of its hole and then went into another one. It all happened soooo fast but it was a very tiny little one. I dove down to get some pictures. I felt bad because it was really wedged in its hiding spot but we all wanted to see and try to document it so I hope we did frighten it too much. What a crazy cool snorkel

-After that I had a nice warm shower and then went to dinner. I wasn’t too hungry but had some yummy rice and veggies

-Then we all headed to North beach for a bon fire, music, and beers. The stars were amazing and it was a great way to end the day!
