Who is the one person you trust the most? My mom or Girt, I don't know who to pick. I'm full aware Mom has lied to me in the past, meanwhile Girt has always been immensely truthful. No, but Mom seems very intent on getting a nice treadmill once the inheritance is finally fucking sorted. She and I both know my legs are going, and it feels like that's my last hope. 📍✈️Traveling to Bali: Part 1 - Ubud (Day 1 & 2)

Bali, Indonesia - an island known for its good food, religious sites for its temples, beaches, a shopping destination, and more. I was thrilled when my friends and I decided to visit Bali since I love learning other country's culture, little bit of history, and seeing breathtaking places.

I’ll be sharing my Bali experience both in Ubud and Seminyak last November 21 - 27, 2018. This travel blog about Bali will be divided maybe into 3 to 4 posts since we have visited a handful of spots in Bali. I’m also planning to have a separate post for our itinerary and budget we had for Bali, Indonesia. I will also share my Bali trip vlog at the end of this post to better see what Bali has to offer.

Our flight from Manila to Bali was at 3:30am via Cebu Pacific. We arrived at Bali, Indonesia at around 8 in the morning. What I really love about early morning flights is that you can see the sunrise in a bird’s view and the clouds upclose. Just looking at the sunrise and clouds in this view just gives out a serene vibes.

Once we have arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport, we went straight to the Immigration, get our luggage, and find Klook for our sim card/data.

Afterwards, we were looking for our driver for our entire stay at Bali. Hiring a driver at Bali was very very convenient since transportation were mostly motorcycles, and taxis. It will also lessen the chance that you would be spending more when hiring a driver. Our driver, Jo, was recommended by my colleague. Jo was very kind and also became our guide the entire trip. He would suggest a lot of tourist spots and places to visit, and also would recommend the places to go for a certain day to maximize our stay in Bali. He also brought us to restaurants that has amazing food.

DAY 1 November 21, 2018

KANDA VILLA

We had an early check-in at our Villa named, Kanda Villa, to leave our things and luggage so that we would be able to explore Ubud comfortably.

UMA PAKEL BALI SWING

First destination of our day 1 in Bali is in Uma Pakel Bali & Swing! This is not originally the swing we would want to try but Jo recommended this since this will have less people. Also, mostly all the swings are just the same.

The view at Uma Pakel was just so refreshing and makes your heart at peace. Entrance fee was IDR150,000 (PHP555).

It was actually terrifying to climb in and out of this one. 😅 The "nest" even wobbles when you move. But as what they always say, all for the photos! 📸

Literally just chilling and it seems I'm about to lay an egg. 🥚 😅

I think my stomach just turned upside down while trying the swing and screaming for my life. 😅 It felt as if I’m going to be thrown towards the trees during that time. 🤣 However, no regrets in trying the swing! I really do recommend to try it at least once.

TEBA SARI RESTO BAR - LOUNGE

For lunch, we ate at Teba Sari Restaurant Bar-Lounge. It is located just across/opposite of Uma Pakel Bali & Swing. This was our first meal at Bali and I’m loving the interiors of the restaurant.

Free appetizers were given to us! It was cassava chips with a spicy tomato dip and it was actually delicious.

I ordered their Ribs since I heard ribs in Bali is good (which was totally true!). The meals included a grilled marinated pork ribs, steamed rice, sautéed green beans-eggplant, chili sambal, and salad pickle. We all ordered Ginger Ale for a refreshing drink.

TEGALALANG RICE TERRACES

After having lunch, we visited the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. There was a minimal entrance fee of IDR15,000 (PHP55.50).

We actually didn’t stayed that long and explored the rice terraces since it was really hot that time.

We did a little shopping at Tegalalang Rice Terraces. The stores could be found exactly across the Rice Terraces.

If you have a short time in Bali and couldn’t visit the Ubud Art Market, I suggest you shop here instead. Prices were almost the same as the one in Ubud Art Market. We saw a rattan round bag which costs IDR90,000, same price as we saw in Ubud Art Market with the same style and quality.

TIRTA EMPUL TEMPLE

Last stop before calling it a day is at Tirta Empul Temple. Entrance fee was IDR50,000 (PHP185).

Before entering the temple, you will be asked to wear a sarong if you’re wearing shorts or a dress. Sarongs will be provided before you enter the temple without any charge. As for our case, we bought sarongs already at the shop near Tegalalang Rice Terraces for our convenience.

We actually didn’t know where to go since it was a little crowded and got “lost” upon exploring the temple.

Tirta Empul is known as a water temple. People go here to have a bath on its holy spring water to purify their souls from the sins they committed. It is a ritual for purification.

We didn’t took a dip since we don’t have any extra clothes and towel with us.

We went to a grocery store after visiting Tirta Empul Temple. There we bought our dinner and water supply for our stay at Ubud. I think we spend around Php2000 for dinner, some snacks, drinks, and bottles of water.

DAY 2 November 22, 2018

KOPI DESA

One of the thing we were excited every morning was this hole in a wall restaurant near the place we are staying at. This humble restaurant/cafe is Kopi Desa. 😍

The place was aesthetically good and food was the best! We had our breakfast here for our entire stay at Ubud and I was also consistent to order their Nasi Goreng Ayam (fried rice) which was the best I’ve tasted until today. Nasi Goreng  Ayam is a meal including stir fried egg and chicken meat in small amount of cooking oil or margarine, typically spiced ith sweet soy sauce, shallot, garlic, tamarind, and chili. A meal costs IDR 28,000 (PHP 103.6).

My breakfast options were in different variations but it as a must that the fried rice was included in my meal like for the 1st day, it the fried rice with egg only, 2nd to 4th day were fried rice with Chicken Satay (Chicken BBQ). Plus, I have convinced my friends to order and try it - that’s how I really love it! 😂

THE BARONG & KRIS DANCE: JAMBE BUDAYA

1st on our itinerary was the Barong & Kris Dance: Jambe Budaya. It was a cultural dance and fee as IDR100,000 (PHP370) per person.

This is the overview of the story of the dance.

I really like the effort they put in showcasing the tourists their culture.

At the side were performers providing for the background music of the dance.

It was a good experience to see and watch a part of Indonesia’s culture knowing they are trying to preserve and show it to everyone.

GITGIT TWIN WATERFALL

In my vlog below, you would notice we were laughing about “Gitgit” because it sound’s like the line Jae of DAY6 says all the time, “Let’s get it!” Like get it = gitgit. 🤣 (We were still on PCD for DAY6 at that time).

There was en entrance fee of IDR20,000 (PHP74). They said it was used to preserve the walking pathway and help the unfortunate children to go to school. I think it was reasonable to pay the amount for the cause, also, the fee includes a tour guide.

It was trekking time for us! Doing trekking was another experience to be in nature - very refreshing! It was truly a breathe of fresh air for us.

Our tour guide said that it was good we went there early because it tend to be crowded during the afternoon.

We actually didn’t finish the whole trekking since it will take another 1-2 hours finishing it and another 1-2 hours in going back.

The waterfall was just so beautiful! The water was so clean and clear.

This is the small bridge to be able to go to the waterfall. I was actually a little scared in crossing cause it was a little slippery and I might fall into the water. 😅

BILLY’S LAKE VIEW RESTAURANT

Lunch at Billy’s Lake View Restaurant! We were already starving hence, the super lack of photos! This restaurant was near to our next destinations.

Food was alright and was in a buffet style. There were different options to choose from starting from soups, main course, and desserts. Taste-wise, food was ordinary. The buffet also included refillable ice tea. Lunch buffet at Billy’s Lake View Restaurant costs IDR 100,000 (PHP 370).

At the back was our view while having our lunch.

HANDARA GATE

The Handara Gate is literally a gate of a Golf Field. A fee was required to be able to take a photo with the gate consisting IDR30, 000 (PHP111). A little pricey for a photo in front of a Golf field gate, but for the sake of experience and memory to cherish, we just had to have a photo.

We actually need to look back and forth since there were cars and motorcycles passing through.

ULUN DANU BERATAN TEMPLE

Final stop for the day was the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. Entrance fee costs IDR50, 000 (PHP185) per person.

Ulun Danu Temple is another water temple in Bali, Indonesia and is located in Beratan Lake.

It was actually very cold and windy when we visited the temple. It felt like we were in Tagaytay.

The temple is also known for it “floating” appearance when the water level is high. Too bad we came when the water level was low and wasn’t able to see its “floating effect.”

After an Anonymous plan to travel together with my girlfriends we chose Bali. It wasn’t my first choice but the flights are cheap from Aus and food and hotels too; for sure then why not!!! And literally, it was ok! didn’t cost me much. So we planning started 3 months before. Just a plan! PLAN!!! (which doesn’t work really work out most of the time)

Anyways in April, we should have been three of us in the tour but one of my girlfriends couldn’t make it due to passport delay in the embassy. However, two of us were on a gooooo….

Well, I booked my ticket with the transit in Singapore for 12hrs which let me go in free Singapore tour by the Chiang Mai airport (This is another story will share it soon)

Arrival in the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, aka BALI! Reached there around 8 pm and lucky Nepalese travellers!!! you don’t need a visa. YeaH!!! (Nepalese don’t need visa if u stay less than 30days ). Fuzz start when u are a tourist and need a ride to Hotel after touchdown to the island. So, people you better take a blue taxi if u want to save your budget and run taxi in meters :D. Reached hotel meet my friend after a year. Had local dinner nearby the restaurant and off to bed.

Day 1 Haha! Woke up late. Then we hired a scooter from the hotel then off to ride (renting a bike is quite cheap there IDR 50000- 70000 per 24 hrs/day). Then we got ourselves sim cards and off to the road… Thank God there is GPS. We passed through Kuta street and man! It was vibrant in all possible terms. Uluwatu Temple was the first destination cause it was on the edge of the map lol! Well, its looked far away in a drive and city is crowded as every other city. We came to see a beautiful couple taking their photo nearby the cliff and it was spectacular.

Tip: Beware of the monkeys they will snatch everything possible. Carry a candy bar in your pockets to batter your belongings. Well, there are locals who will save you for sure.

Next destination after there was the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), a cultural park. Have you experienced a disastrous moment well it was the first one when we were there? Scooter stopped and didn’t start at all. NOT my Fault (fault in our star damn!) but the generous staff in the GWK helped us start the bike. And we were there first thing first we enjoyed the ice cream mad on the cold slab.

It was great then the view of GWK well it was architectural delineation for sure. The Indra log was amazing well it was a place for famous events in Bali for music concerts and parties.

Well, you can spend whole day over there watching various theatre shows done for the visitors and we were able to witness few of them as the Vishnu (wishanu dance/ art); taaktaktaktak dance and the beautiful music until the end.

On our way back to the hotel we went to the beach nearby called double six beaches no wonder why! Grab the beer and enjoy the view! Not really it was dark ! man! Lol though the music was good and the atmosphere was chilled. Bintang the Indonesian beer…

Day 2 So no hangover, but still not an early bird, so on the second day we changed the scooter and we head to Ubud the monkey forest. This day was amazing first we encounter the notorious and mischievous monkeys. Rule 1 do not try to be friendly with them. Rule 2 don’t look in the eye or you will fall in love not but trouble (guides said it meant war if you stare at them lol).

After all that we escape the monkeys and headed to the famous tergalalang rice field. The view was great as it is seen in Instagram and Bali lookout but a bit crowded. Lots of people and lots of ways to be there. However, we were there and no need for tickets but there were kids that were trying to sell souvenir and stuff and local who maintained the field were collecting generosity ($) for themselves. Recommended to visit this area. Enjoy the view with coconut water for sure and that the exact place where we planned our next stop..

On the way to tegenungan waterfall sukawati we stopped by the Luwak coffee farm to taste the local famous coffee which is literally a shit of an animal named PLAM Civet (Luwak). The coffee was great and as a bonus we were given around 12 kinds of tea for testing which were amazing. About tea testing, you will be seeing a video soon.

Must say it was a lovely day, now that we were close to the waterfall, we didn’t have spare clothes to change but then you only get one chance in a lifetime, therefore, take a dip and live. So I bought lungi like pyjama there for IDR 100,000 which is a nice gift too for later. Well, you need to buy a ticket for the entry though. So we were there and lots of other people too.

I would say this is the part where I came back from death, thanks to lifeguards there. There are unusual timing in life when you wanna be a rebel but there is devil waiting for you to end. So, what happened was I went to the water to take a photo but somehow I wanted to feel that one of life time moment and swim in the waterfall. So, as you can guess the whirlpool pulled me and my friend was taking a video thinking I was swimming like a pro but not. However, those lifeguards on standby saved me with the rubber tube well I lost my words and sense for some time but must say was one of the LIFETIME MOMENT!!!! Hence, guess be safe. Under the waterfall, there is sign which is marked with a flag for danger so avoid those areas. Sad thing photo didn’t come out well…

Well that was the day end of story for so far for which I get teased by my friends DIVE = DIE Day 3 This day weather was gloomy when we started to head out. So this day we went to Tanah Lot temple, the temple on the sea; next to the sea! Well, that place was amazing but I wonder what it would look like during sunset cause it popular for that.

Well, there were parts of temple one being across the sea or shall say it was 100meter away from the mainland! You need to cross the gap between the lands via walk. And holy God, there were water snakes! Or some kind of snakes which is suppose to be gods relative or god themselves. One thing I am most afraid of is a snake and holy cra* Lord there they were but no harm. So I took blessing form the priest there and rushed back.

oh weather!!! It started to rain a lot but still then we ended up going out and soaking in the rain. As per my friend’s request, we went to blue lagoon which is supposed to be the best beach in Bali for snorkelling and beach time. Damn! It was beach day for us like b*tc$ day. It never stopped. We stopped by several stops to escape the rain but rain was all over us (rain on me!!!!! ) Somehow we reached there at the end. While we were there it stopped for a while and when we went to hotel it was raining again.

Weather forecast for the next day seemed tragic so we rented the van and driver for next day.

Day 4 So on this day, we were supposed to go to 3 places as per our booking cause they were long distanced and off hills. First of all, we went to view Mt. Kintamani Volcano which took us more than 2 hours reach that viewpoint next we went to Pura Besakih temple which is known to be the biggest Hindu temple in Bali. It was a festival season so it was crowded by the devotees and tourist. We had an epic story here with the guide in the temple too. Bust the place was mesmerising.

Day 5 Coming to end of our tour, last day for us in Bali(supposed to be) hence I want to go all around Bali before I go back to place where I come from. cause we had been too limited areas only. There for DAY 5 was 270+ km tour for us in the bike.

me and a particular group of my melee friends have been using the word cuck a lot still and I never really thought about where it came from. Like 4chan probably repopularized the use of the word because I saw that cuckold porn became a really big trend on there, but the way we use it isn’t like cuckoldry exactly, it’s more like getting fucked over, or stood up, or most specifically teased with a promise of a good time and then having someone back out at the last minute.

More on that later I guess. This week’s been so hectic. Wtf it’s only been like 5 days it feels like it’s been weeks already. I’ve restrategized my Get Your Shit Together (4.0) list, and the big three things are 1. pass the RPSGT, 2. get moved out of my apartment, 3. get some surgeries. 

Tony actually wrote my letter for real, so I put in my application to take the test this week! My cpr aed certification is outdated so I got an online one and I’m not allowed, so I have to do a course this weekend and fix that, but otherwise I’m all set. Gotta study hard, I’m pretty fucking pumped to get a raise. Glad I’m not dying for the money rn though, the $500 to take the test and get a new cpr cert would have me stresssssed the fuck out, dude.  No progress on getting someone to take my room just yet, my room’s a fucking mess, I need to do laundry, I’m kinda putting all this shit off for now tbh. We’ll wait until I’ve taken the exam I’ve got vacation this week anyway. And I talked to my dad, who gave me his blessing so to speak to get a vasectomy. I fudged a number that I told him, said that it’s 90% reversible (most numbers say 95% or greater w/in 3 years, about 50% at 10), but with the potential for in vitro fertilization even if the reversal fails I’m sure that’s about right. He told me that my mom had told him that she wasn’t trying to get pregnant for a year or so and then ‘was practically pregnant the next day.’ coupled with how mom was talking about being pregnant at their wedding I can see that lol. He basically told me that he loves all of us a lot, but yeah I would’ve definitely done that because it’s worth it to not have that kind of surprise when you can’t make money for a kid. I definitely can’t make money for a kid right now lol that would kill me. So I’ve already called the doc to get a referral and I’m gonna get a vasectomy. Gotta figure out how much my septum surgery will be too, but that’ll be a lot more -_- Me and dad were catching up for a bit and I helped him get in touch with Dr. Bruce to fix a hernia so he’s gonna be giving me some more money so that’ll help with that too though. Plus I’ll FINALLY be making sleep tech money. I’m so fucking pumped.

Plus basically the past 3 days I’ve Actually just been working. 3 patients a night for the first time this week was stressful as fuck. I mean not exactly. Just time consuming and pretty frustrating. As jimmy said “if you were still trying to get through Zelda you probably would be dying right now.” Made it through fine and that should sweeten up my paycheck just a smidgen.

Still haven’t eaten french fries, but definitely gave up on cigs. Practically like two days later. I was out drinking for Josh’s birthday and smoked a bunch. That shit was so fucking cash omg. I got blackout drunk for the first time in forevvver. Was hanging out with Jimmy, Josh, Ian, Jack, ran around with one of josh’s friends trying to pick up chicks at a bar after smashing beers into our head and shotgunning them. I have a video lol I’ll try to upload it once I have internet. Was trying to ‘flirt with all the ASA bitties’ but got too drunk and ended up boxing someone in Josh’s friend’s basement (w/ boxing gloves) lmfao. Reminded me of middle school boxing Cory Winters and having our little fight club ring lol. Drunk snapped a bunch of people, ian drove me home, it was a great fucking night. Oh and at Josh’s friend’s I ran into one of my asian friends who I could not remember for the life of me. I wasn’t sure if he was a league friend or one of brosciouss friends or a smash friend I was just so lost, but played it off really well (as always) and did jager shots with him. Fuck. Ing. Lit. First time I felt so happy and natural to be drinking in forever, too. Even got to see brett3 for a bit. Nice to be back in chapel hill. Especially when they’re good old drinking buddies like Jack. It’s so strange that I don’t really talk to anybody else from chapel hill, but then again it really isn’t. 

The date with Brianna went pretty meh. We met up and joked around a bunch and thrift shopped and I bought a whole fuckton of new pants to ease the process of spring cleaning and two new sweatshirts so I’m not wearing fuzzy shit all the time now that it’s getting warmer. Ate at Ms. Winner’s and it was some delicious ass cheap fried chicken, might be my new go to in gboro now. But she like barely wanted to kiss me at the end of the date idk what’s up with her, I’ve kinda bailed out since she’s all preoccupied with her family anyway.

Instead ive gone back to what I call my “harem strats” You see, by chatting up as many girls as possible (right now juggling 4-5) I divert my attention and stay aloof enough that I don’t seem like a crazy fuck. Instead I’m just an asshole who’s two timing girls, but yknow fuck you stop judging me.  This girl hit me up on snapchat saying I looked cute in my story and that we should smoke sometime. With the snapchat name Smokeahontas I could’ve sworn it was Kat, so I just go along with the convo. But then I see kat has a diff username and I was like wtfff who is this lol. I didn’t ask her though, just played along and eventually remembered when she asked for my insta that it was this girl I matched with on tinder months ago that I never followed up with (like most of them), probably because I got lazy lol.  Had a sort of date with Jamie, we got some food because she was getting off work, we smoked a bit, but she was like texting the whole time and fuckin bailed out after just an episode of south park to ‘go to the beach with her roommate.’ I still have been talking to her a bunch, but Idk what the fuck is up with that, kinda whack. Super cucked by how that went. Especially because when I walked her out to her car I didn’t even get a kiss goodnight it was this weird lasting embrace like she pressed her cheek into mine to make sure I didn’t try to kiss her I guess, but still held me tight for a really long time, I was like rubbing her lower back hoping she’d like loosen up and kiss me but hooooly shit it all felt super fucking awkward. I’m hoping she’s just really conservative about dudes since she’s such a cutie, but idk. it makes me actually not give a fuck about her. I have a date tomorrow night with the other textiles girl idr if I wrote about her, but she’s cute, going to ncsu. “allergic to smoke” lol I told her I quit. (I mean I had that day before but I lied and said I did two weeks ago hahah goddamn I’m kind of a twat maybe.) Also actually got cucked by smokeahontas. It was like a situation that was too good to be true though, to be fair. She didn’t have anything to do yesterday night and wanted to hang out; when I told her I was stuck at work and said she should just smoke with me in the morning she said she actually wanted to and would stay up all night to meet up with me when I got off. Ofc she fell asleep, and when she woke up she said she wanted to go back to bed, so I flippantly said “well you could always sleep over here.” and surprisingly enough she said she was actually game for that, so our smoke and horror movie date turned into a naptime date. But an hour passed while I was eating breakfast and in the shower so I was like ‘wtf is up’ and she said she got sick and threw up. Figured I was super cucked once more by another flaker, kind of a bummed out, but not as bummed as after the dates with Jaime and Bri both went so poorly lol. Just happily told her we can try again another time, and now she’s saying she wants to do the same plan for tomorrow morning.
