hey now, the distinction of labels matters! whereas a bisexual person's attraction is not always 50/50, somebody who takes up the label of homoflexible or heteroflexible usually is stating that their primary attraction is the one area of binary gender, but they would make maybe small certain exceptions if they did find themselves attracted to someone of the different areas of binary gender.
the definition changes from person to person and i could give countless examples but im a little bit sleep deprived so i will say this; it is not biphobic to choose one label with similar connotations to the other, nor is it erasure. coming from a panromantic guy, i chose that label because i felt that it suited; i am "gender blind" when it comes to romance and that is what the pan prefix means to me. it could also mean that to someone who is bi! and vice versa to someone who is poly, omni, etc. or all of those could mean different things!
i dont want people to feel restricted in their identities (im not saying you do either, let me clear that up right away!), i just want to make sure that people are comfortable in their identities. erasure happens all the time, hate happens all the time. bi people to pan people, pan people to bi people, bi and pan people to --flexible people and --flexible to bi and pan people and despite not mentioning them i would also like to express that this can affect the aces and aros of the community too, etc.
our strengths are to stand together, understand one another or at least try our best to understand one another. it's one of the many steps toward freedom of harmless expression.
and maybe you dont understand it; that's okay! im not very good at explaining these things, but i know im trying my best to encourage closing the gap of miscommunication that harms both sides. people are angry and thats okay because its okay to have human feelings and reactions to things we dont really get, but there are reasons these people have their convictions, and i encourage you to take a look and to ask and to exercise curiosity over condemnation.
"homoflexible" this, "heteroflexible" that, YOURE FUCKING BISEXUAL oh my GOD
