Can I have 17, 28 and 30 for the label game?
Thank you so much 🥰
Sure! I'll just continue with KnB. :D
17. Wished had less screentime: Hmm. I don't have an easy answer for this, so I'm going to look at it another way: Sakurai. (Listen, everyone, before you get ready to knock me cold.) I wish he had less of the kind of screentime he has. I wish he was portrayed differently, and not as a joke, because he's clearly very traumatized, and it's not hard to picture what kind of past and/or present he would have. It really irks me that he's basically just a comic relief, I find it a really tasteless kind of joke. It's really like a slap in the face for people who've been through certain kinds of abuse.
28. I would be besties with them: Uughh, noo, I don't want to be friends with any of these characters, I just want to write them. This is getting too personal for me. How about I put it this way: I would welcome any real person in my life who closely resembled Kagami, Furihata, Momoi, Kise, Takao, Izuki or Murasakibara. They all have qualities my current or past close friends already have, so it would seem like a good match.
30. Straight up enemies with this character: Same logic as before. I'm sure I would be enemies with someone who used the tactics of Hanamiya, Haizaki or for heaven's sake, Akashi's father.
Sorry I butchered all the questions, V. It seems that I have already used my tolerance for blurring reality and fiction for today. (It's a low tolerance.)
#thanks V#sorry i'm a bore#it's my literal brain#i also have a deep dislike for mixing fact and fiction in a way that isn't distinguishable#like historical fiction about a historical figure really gets on my nerves#i just want reality and fiction to remain separate#i love clarity#these are probably at least in part the things that make it so hard for me to put myself in a fictional setting

I’ve been a fan of Project Sekai for about 6 months and just recently watched Jujutsu Kaisen so you can imagine how your AU has taken over my brain. I want to hear as many ideas as you have of it, even if it’s an unorganized word vomit post. :)
Ho-Ho-Hooooo!
This might gonna be my longest post yet, since I have A LOT ideas with this AU! >:Dc
(More under the cut~)
PJSK+JJK AU IDEAS
Okay! To not make this too long (hehe it will be super long tho kek), I’ll just talk about some of the jjk characters past and some small neat facts within this AU instead! The characters Arc stuff that I have planned can be for a later post (if asked ;3c)~
Let’s start with our favorite pink-haired cinnamon roll… Yuuji!!!! >w<
Yuuji Itadori
DOB: 3/20 School: Kamiyama High School
Height: 173 cm School Year: Class 1-C
Hobbies: Karaoke, Watching TV, and Impersonations
Specialty: Cooking (and any Physical Sports/Actives but he doesn’t care too much about that)
Fav Food: Rice bowl with food on top and noodles
Least Fav Food: None
Dislikes: Science and Math subjects (the numbers be sort get mixed up in his head, relatable ngl lol)
As ya can see in this post I did a while back, that Yuuji lived a mostly normal life with his grandfather, Wasuke, at Sendai City. He never really knew much about his parents, he only have some small memories of his father before he one day left for some unknown reason.
Shortly after Wasuke passed away, Yuuji was suddenly contacted by a group of people he has never met before. The group of people told him that they all are his half-brothers due to all of them sharing the same parent. The Oldest, Choso, has been trying to contact and unite all of his half siblings and offer Yuuji to come live with them in Tokyo.
Yuuji, with the last wish from his grandfather of avoided dying alone, decided to move to Tokyo and try to connect with all of his half siblings.
While he attends to Kamiyama, he shortly became friends with Akito Shinonome after they bonded over their struggles with science and math class. Yuuji also quickly became friends with Nobara Kuguisaki when she transferred to the school.

Nobara used to lived in a small village within Iwate with her grandmother. Growing up she was outcasted within her village due to her more outspoken and brash. Her only friends as a child were Fumi and Saori, she especially looked up to Saori as an older sister figure. Saori was a young teenager that moved into Nobara’s hometown for a while and befriended Nobara. However, Saori moved back to Tokyo due to the village discrimination towards her and her family, which deeply saddened Nobara and deepened her hatred for her village even more.
When Nobara’s mother moved to Tokyo due to her job, Nobara quickly moved in with her to escape her village life and in hopes to see Saori again.
Nobara became friends with Yuuji and Akito once she transferred into Kamiyama, she pretends that she doesn’t care for them but deep down she very much do and appreciate their friendship.

One day, around the age of 7, one of his music had gone viral and Rising Pop-Star Gojo Satoru saw it and decided to contact Megumi. Once Gojo saw Megumi and Tsumiki’s living condition, he offered to financially support them in condition that Megumi compose the music for his songs.
Megumi agreed and since then Megumi composed for Gojo and his fame reached Worldwide due to his music. However the constant stress of making viral songs and unresolved emotions of his abandonment caused Megumi to be constantly be depressed and moody. The build up reach it peak in his last year of Junior High where he snap at Tsumiki one day, creating a sibling argument that cause Tsumiki to leave the house for the day. However the next day, Tsumiki nearly died and was put into a coma after a car accidentally hits her as she was walking across the streets.
This trauma caused immense guilt within Megumi, and caused him to focus even more on his music in order to continue financially support his sister medical care.
Megumi mostly keeps to himself during school, rarely interacting with others and always has his headphones on during breaks. He is however within a music video club he started so he can mostly work on his music after school since he feels uncomfortable working at home after the incident. Junpei Yoshino
DOB: 8/13 School: Kamiyama High School
Height: 165 cm School Year: Class 2-A
Hobbies: Watching Horror Movies and Recording them in VHS
Speciality: Knows a lot about Marine life, specifically Jellyfish
Fav Food: Crab omelet on rice
Least Fav Food: Herring Roe

Junpei lives with his mother, Nagi Yoshino, after both of his parents filed a divorce. However this happened when he was really young, so he has no recollection of his father, only hearing that he was a terrible person.
Growing up, Junpei was outcasted for being a child of a single mother and was considered weird for his interests in horror and the supernatural. However, his mother reassured him that he’s not weird for his interest and she even apologized to him for being a single mother. Junpei tears up and told her it’s not her fault, in which Nagi just smiles gently and says that he’s such a good son.
During his first year in High School, he was getting bullied by some of his classmates. One day, the bullies were about to take things too far, until Rui Kamishiro stopped them and scared them off by spouting out possible inventions he can test on the bullies.
Junpei saw Rui again in the rooftop when he was skipping class, and so they just both hangout in the rooftop as Junpei listen to Rui ramble about possible theatrical shows and musicals. Junpei not really talking much, but Rui didn’t mind for he understood.
In the middle of the year, Junpei’s mother passed out one day due to stress and was sent to the hospital. The next day, bullies took his favorite books and ripped it up. When he went to the rooftop after school, Rui was about to show Junpei the new outfit that his friend Mizuki made for him, until Rui noticed Junpei’s upset face and asked what’s wrong.
In which Junpei snapped and yells at Rui and complains how he always talk his “dumb” musical and “weird” gadgets, and accuses Rui for always talking about himself and knows nothing about him. And in a fit of his rage, he took Rui’s costume and start ripping it up as he yells at Rui to leave him alone.
Junpei quickly realized his mistake, but before he could say anything Rui just told him to leave in a cold voice.
His mother recovered and was able to return home safety (she even officially quit drinking and smoking so something like that won’t happen again), but Junpei still skipped school due yo the bullies but also due to the guilt of what he did towards Rui.
They then moved to Kamiyama due to his mother getting a better job there, and Nagi encouraged Junpei to attend to Kamiyama High School ensuring things will be better for him now.
Junpei became friends with Tsukasa after seeing his passion for shows reminds him of Rui (not realizing he also goes to the same school too kek~), and became friends with Yuuji one day when he saw Yuuji watching the same niche horror movie he was in the movie theaters.

Maki Zenin
DOB: 1/20 School: None/Drop Out
Height: 170 cm School Year: N/A
Hobbies: Working out
Speciality: Fast Reaction Time, making her really good at reaction-based video games
Fav Food: Fast Food/Junk Food
Least Fav Food: High Class Food Dishes
Dislikes: Her Family and Codependent People
Maki live within a finically privileged family with her younger twin sister, Mai, however the Zenin family itself is incredibly toxic and emotionally abusive with the occasional physical abuse (mostly from the father with the mother being a passive complicit). The family has high expectations from both Maki and Mai and often pin the twins against each other. The father especially ridiculed Maki for not being as academically gifted compared to Mai, and constantly tells Maki she’s lazy and not studying enough for school (she actually having good grades despite Maki struggling with dyslexia and dysgraphia, but it’s never enough for the Zenin Family).
One day, near the end of Maki’s last year within Junior High, Maki finally had enough and ran away from home without telling anyone.
Maki has been living on her own working full-time in order to finically support herself on her own. Due to this, she hasn’t contact with her sister, one of the only family members she actually love. She is currently living within Vivid Street with Kinji Hakari and Kirara Hoshi as roommates.
She works as a security guard (she has a fake ID with the help of Kirara because otherwise she would be too young to work as one), and she occasionally have shifts to guard backstages for idol shows, that’s how she met Shizuku during her time with Cheerful*Days.
Maki at first was standoff-ish towards Shizuku’s kindness whenever she would try to talk to her. But Maki slowly warms up to her after seeing Shizuku always working so hard during practice.
As a resident of Vivid Street, Maki tend to go to WEEKEND GARAGE for their affordable coffee and food. Ken Shiraishi (the owner of WEEKEND GARAGE) tend to give her free food and drinks whenever he notice Maki struggling with some money problems before her next paycheck arrives. An Shiraishi, Ken’s daughter, tend to greet her whenever Maki comes in and even remembers her order too.
Maki also have some shift where she would stand guard for some live stage shows within Vivid Street, so he knows of Akito and Toya, but never really actually interacted with them before.
—————————————————————————
Mai Zenin
DOB: 1/20 School: Miyamasuzaka School
Height: 170 cm School Year: Class 2-A
Hobbies: Reacting scenes from her favorite rom-coms movies
Fav Food: Fast Food/Junk Food
Least Fav Food: High Class Food Dishes
Dislikes: Her Family and Independent People
Just like Maki, Mai lives with her toxic and emotionally abusive family.
When Maki ran away from home without even telling her, it hurts her deeply and causes her to be resentful.
Mai’s friends with Momo Nishiyama due knowing each other since childhood thus knowing deeply about Mai’s terrible family environment.
Mai hates Shizuku Hinomori due to her seemingly having a good life compared to her and internally craving for a caring older sister again, but rather than being vulnerable she would rather speak negatively about Shizuku behind her back.
Mai decided to try a pull a prank and put Shizuku’s name in an idol application contest to try and humiliate her. However, she didn’t expect Shizuku to actually win and later be the center of the popular idol group Cheerful*Days. This cause Mai to hate her even more due to jealousy, thus Mai started to spread false harmful rumors on how Shizuku gave the managers “special treatment” in order to become an idol throughout the school.

What do you think the fandom for your character would be like? Are they a fan favorite, a love to hate villain, derided for whatever reason, or something else?
What feelings does your character most often instill in their fans? Affection? A desire to protect? Open lust? A love/hate dynamic? Why do you think their fans feel this way?
By contrast, what would their haters dislike about your character? Is it a petty complaint? A mischaracterization of the character or their intentions? Are they just a woman in a largely male-centric series?
What controversies/drama would your character incite in fandom?
Are there any tropes fandom would put upon your character, for better or for worse?
For any OC, I'm curious xD
Any OC !? X'D That's gonna be hard X'D
Oh well since I did post him once let's go with my Egyptian vampire Lord Meryamun Ankhkemet !
To be fair, I gave him all the tools fandoms usually love. Slender fancy DILF in suits with a cigarette holder and dark eye makeup, monsterfucking attraction since he's a vampire and his monster form will surely attract, has moments of quirky amongst his usual class, he is a good dad with dad energy for kids in general, he is a great helpful friend who uses his wealth to help anyone and can make rich anyone brcause he is not greedy, and he adores his wife he has a great sex life and love life with while being her "malewife" since he's the one who cooks for her and he fanboys and fans himself when she takes her own werewolf form, BUT without being a good person either since to the public eye he's a beloved philantropic billionaire but he actually keeps humans well fed in order to hunt them down like preys with his family whenever he will want as well as secretly financing wars he always was fascinated with and loathes the sun because by becoming a vampire he sees it as Ra having betrayed him and since has turned to adoring Apep hoping deep down one day the sun could die, so an anti-villain/anti-hero who in fact almost became a full on villain had he not met the love of his life. So sure extreme fandom people who mix up reality and fiction would hate him for being a privileged billionaire and think and his fans should die, but most fan would get it IS the point why I made him morally dark grey and so powerful yet beloved lol and also love him as a flawed character who also is hot anf hot characters are always forgiven especially if they are loving to their loved ones like him
A mix of all those. I imagine him being loved for him being a monsterfucker fantasy and a DILF for villain lovers and goth-like aesthetics since he's a vampire, to be both loved for his aforementionned qualities and hated for the flaws I said so be seen as a lovable asshole in general fans say "what a dick. I hate him *kiss him and tuck him in bed*"
As said people could hate him for being a huge asshole on a wider range. He is one of the main characters so one of the "good guys" since most of the cast are good people and because he loves and likes them he is good to them. And is also a good boss who understood employees must be paid well to be faithful. But that's precisely the thing. To non-loved ones, he is good only as a strategy either for loyalty or for his public image, and he feels no remorse in randomly choosing someone at night to hunt down, bloodily kill and feed upon. Even if, since it did happen, they were acquaintances at the wrong place at the wrong moment. He is a vampire who became rich force of acumulating riches through centuries and travelling and finding/stealing treasures and creating businesses and investing on the long run, he used to be a human but no longer sees himself as one so now everything is made just for him and his family to survive and the secret kept and humans are just disposable cattle and he highly enjoys his sratus that allows him to be unsuspected. Plus even when he was a human he was manipulative sincr he married the pharaoh's much younger daughter just for the throne and as soon as he got crowned went to do wars like he always wished not caring if soldiers and civilians die as long as he expanded Egypt. So many could see him as being way too realistic of an oligarch to be lovable which is fair. However some could also think it means I approve and that the message is "love him he does nothing wrong" and loathe him and the story and myself for that while it is not !
As said, the fact that we live in a time with dangerous billionaires fucking up our economy and society just on whims and we hate them for that and I made a character who is a billionaire with dark ulterior motives behind as well but unlike the real world almost everybody love him because he really plays along, is smart and manipulative and again he is not greedy at all and confident in gaining enough money to spend it on charity, public infrastructures, pays student loans if a fan asks him to, finances health searches and is a loved figured in his town because he personally finances a lot of positive changes to infrastructures and his fancy restaurant offers luxury food for affordable prices because he says everybody deserves the best. Watchers could see it as billionaire propaganda and boycott lmao missing that the point is that he is so good... because he wants his cattle healthy. And of course people who hate villain main characters would think it means it is a good thing because he is a good guy, and others would mean he is excused since never punished and showed in a good light when he is with his loved ones lmao
Tropes as in TV Tropes ? Well... Faux Affably Evil obviously (passes as kind and philantropic while he sees you as his potential dinner or his wife's or children's or vampire friends' and again he doesn't care who dies in a war as long as he gets to feel the thrill of expansion) but also Affably Evil (he GENUINELY is kind and helpful if he likes you even if you are a human and won't betray you and will not hesitate one second to give you the quadruple needed if you have financial problems), Anti-hero (one of the main characters despite sounding like a villain) but also Anti-villain (actually used to be WORST bitter and angry about his vampire condition and stripped titles and how Ra betrayed him in his eyes and so killed much more but also scared on prupose and played with his food giving them false hopes and an "episode" of an alternate reality shows that had he not made friends at last nor met and fallen in love with his non-vampire wife who made him give up on his revenge since they do need the sunlight to live normally he would have been a purely evil and cold CEO actively financing a secret project to straight up destroy the sun and make it an eternal night with Lord Shen energy), Jerk with a Heart of Gold (genuinely loves his wife and children and friends and pets and actually can't kill children ; sure children die in wars but "LALALALALA I HEAR NOTHING" not to feel guilt), Papa Wolf (will go BRUTAL if his son and daughter are in danger), Happily Married (a mix of Morticia ans Gomez, Pansora and the Captain, and Homer and Marge), Excessive Evil Eyeshadow (wears a combination of Ancient Egyptian kohl, mascara and black glittery eyeshadow which only enhance his dark eyebags due to the lack of blood and sun), Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness (got yellow eyes when he got vampirized and he is manipulative and keeps his secret well), Locked into Strangeness (got a white lock out of stress when he lost his humanity and got shoved and locked inside a sarcophagus for 3800 years) etc

So this is probably a dumb question and there is probably something wrong with me but I’m going to ask anyway. Have you ever fallen totally, madly, and deeply in love with a fictional character and all you do is think about them and it hurts to think about them but you really just want to talk to them and tell them things and hear their take on things? And you then form a weird attachment to the actor, who you are not in love with because you love the fake character, not the actor, because the actor is kind of a jerk, but since the actor played the fake character and you think they are hot now you are semi-in love with the actor by proxy since they played that stupid fake character that you’re aching to talk to/be with and they also look like them. So now you are in this stupid place where you are both in love with a fake being and in by proxy love with a jerky actor and you are hyper-fixated both on this stupid character that isn’t even real but you have real achy pains of longing for them AND the hot disaster mess that you clearly are because you’re in love with a fake character. Meanwhile, you need to get out more and make friends but you can’t because now you have a sort of real broken heart over a pretend nonexistent romantic relationship with a made up person and a proximal, nonexistent, your face is hot relationship with the sack of skin that played them. Does this ever happen to other ppl or is it just me?
Okay look. I have NOT for the life of me ever been able to find this post again, or remember the name of the category (I think it starts with the letter i, but that is all, and my attempts to Google search for it have, of course, turned up nothing but porn). But some while ago, I read a definition of a subsidiary sexual orientation called something like "ideosexual" or "imagosexual" that turned me into the DEFINITION of "I came out to have a good time and I'm feeling so attacked right now." Because the list included, among other things, experiences/feelings like:
Being primarily attracted to fictional characters, celebrities, or other people who don't exist in real life or exist only far away from you, so that you're fantasizing about them from a safe distance rather than engaging them as a real person/actual relationship;
Enjoying fictional depictions of sex/smut more than you're drawn to seek out actual sexual experiences in real life, no matter your primary orientation or the gender of the people you're attracted to;
Being mostly satisfied in experiencing these imagined or idealistic relationships, and finding fulfillment in them.
This fell somewhere on the demiromantic/asexual spectrum, where you felt sexual and romantic attraction, but for a person who was not somebody you ever expected to actually be with or who might not even be real. You enjoyed fantasizing about them and experiencing fictional sex through them, whether of the written or visual medium, but didn't really feel particularly drawn to do so in real life. As a strongly ace-spec queer and fairly nonbinary person who has a very complicated relationship with my body/a dislike of close physical touch/no particular need to have a real partner of any kind, I was a bit like... wow, that sounds a lot like me. We've all had deep crushes on characters before, we're all aware that boundaries in fandom can get confused, some people write fanfiction about real people/actors (which I find.... deeply off-putting and mystifying, to say the least, but you know, each to their own, they have their things and I have mine), and it in general creates a semi-fictional erotic space that relies heavily on personal fantasies and curated imagery. But all people do this. Even people who aren't in fandom do this. You fantasize about strangers or you watch porn or you find a celebrity hot and have an intense parasocial crush on them. Humans are inherently visual creatures who LOVE stories. It's no surprise that sex, one of our other big preoccupations, is one of the chief sources for this.
Anyway, that is to say: there's nothing wrong with you, most people on Tumblr can probably relate to this experience in some way, and the fact that you're able to set clear boundaries (this is the character, this is the actor, this is real, this is not real, this is what I feel for one, this is what I feel for another, I recognize this is confused and mixed up but I'm not sure what to do) is a very good sign. It would be much more of a problem if you weren't able to make all those distinctions, and while it absolutely does suck, the upside is that a fictional character (especially one that you have extensively created through your own headcanons) will always be with you. Real partners come and go, and this isn't to say that you only ever need fictional characters, but you don't need to completely disavow them either. If that's a secret thing you have and which you really feel, it's okay. We've all cried buckets over fake people, whether for happy or sad reasons. We all have that one character death we'll never get over (or several). And you know, I like that. The fact that we can get so invested in fake people (in a way, frankly, we should get more invested in REAL people) shows our empathy and our willingness to engage with others apart from ourselves, and that is rather lovely.
The age of social media has allowed people both to freely share their personal fantasies and private thoughts, and to be judged for them, which is a bit of a mixed bag. We're all here on Tumblr reminding ourselves that these are technically our blogs (and they are) and we can say or enjoy whatever we want, but we're all wary of some random jerk coming along and judging us for it, since we have put it into the public sphere to be consumed. This is the case even though it's placed/framed in a way where we are supposed to understand that is just one's own personal opinion. There are some truly miserable people on the internet who are on an apparent never-ending crusade to serve as the latter-day Comstock Police, but those people have existed throughout history, and they just have more tools to do it now. And guess what? I'm pretty sure those people have secret fantasies too, but they can't talk about them now because they would likewise put themselves in a position to be judged, and they don't want that.
Anyway. There's nothing wrong with you, and you're not dumb. This is a deeply normal experience for many people, and that is the truth. <3

Since I joined the One Piece fandom, I was asked different times which character I ship with Doffy the most. Given I'm usually into self insert things, I'd firstly go with "my OC, of course 😛"... But let's talk about what I think of Doffy's most famous ships 😁
DISCLAIMER: all of what follows is TOTALLY my own opinion, don't want to judge anyone who thinks differently than me. OP is a fictional world made of fictional characters and anyone can ship whoever they likes!
So, here's the ships:
Doffy x Viola
Ok, let's start with what many people's don't want to hear: this ship is canon. Yeah. Like it or not, it's a matter of fact.
I honestly like them together, they're a weird couple but somehow they work. I like to imagine how could have been the dynamic between the two of them, and I'm more than sure there was nothing abusive from Doffy's side. I mean, sexually at least. I agree with the fact destroying one's whole life and Country is pretty abusive, but I'm quite sure the feelings between Doffy and Viola have been real for a while. Maybe the concept could sound trivial, but no one chooses who to love and Doffy has many characteristics which may definitely make a person fall for him. Not totally sure HE has ever truly loved her, but I like to think so. After all he does have a weak side and Viola might have been one of the few (even thanks to her powers) who managed to see it and knowing him deeply. This surely strenghtened their bond and it might have finally resulted in love...
My vote is a 8/10
Doffy x Cora
This is incest. I know. And it's indeed problematic and controversial. Irl a thing like this isn't exactly acceptable.
BUT as I told before, OP is pure fiction, so... I have to say quite like them tbh. In my opinion, as long as a relationship is adult and consensual there's nothing deeply wrong in it IN FICTIONAL WORLDS. (I know, there are fanfictions in which their relationship is abusive, but since we’re talking about headcanons here I like to think it’s not). Have you watcher GoT? Cersei and Jamie were one of the best written pairings in the whole series, the same goes for this situation imo, we have all the conditions to make this ship a sensible one.
They’re a realistic couple cause they went through a lot of difficulties together and, even if they chose different paths of life, their bond is very very deep. Their love is a desperate one, like “you’re the only one in this world I can REALLY trust”. This from both sides. The difference is that Cora is a pure person who just want to love and being loved while Doffy... well, he’s not exactly mentally healthy and he’s like “all or nothing”.
A lot of angst and stuff, of course, for this reason my vote is 7/10
Doffy x Crocodile
I’m sure someone out there is going to want my head for what I’m about to write, the DoffyxCroco fandom is huge after all... but...
I don’t like this ship at all.
Given one can ship two people with no reason or just because they wear matching colours and look good in fanarts (?) imo DoffyxCrocodile has no sense. They interact, yeah, but nothing about their dialogues or shared scenes makes me thing they could be a good couple. Even that most famous encounter at Marineford which made fanpeople scream... They looked just like contenders who quite disliked eachother, nothing less and nothing more :/ and Doffy saying “I’m jelous!” just gave me the same vibes of a childish sacrastic way to piss off a person, pretty much like the stupid classic “you fight like a girl!”.
They’re aesthetically beautiful, nothing to say, they’re both among the most handsome characters in OP and have a similar story, so I’m not saying I don’t understand the reasons of those who ship them... Just... I want ships to be stronger and more credible than this :/
6/10 just because they look good in fanarts XD
Doffy x Luffy
This is pretty diffused, but..... why.
I mean... what happened between the two of them which could have made them fall for eachother?? D: Have you ever tried to date a person after trying GearFourthPunch them out of the troposphere? °A° (Also, Luffy could LITERALLY be Doffy’s son. This is weird. Not the weirdest thing, but still.)
Srsly... If you like them together I ask you to tell me which dynamics are there behind this ship. Cause I really can’t see WHERE do you see even a little trace of feelings between the two of them D:
Sorry D:
3/10
Doffy x Law
Gods, yes. YES.
This ship HELLA works from every single point of view. Doffy and Law are two of the most (if not THE MOST) well written characters in the whole series. They have a complete and complex background, a deep and multifaceted personality and, above all, an extremely strong bond.
Ship them or not, they’re literally OBSESSED by eachother for different reasons.
Law is the ONLY man Doffy considers almost his equal, he thinks he’s like the only person worth being his right hand man and I’m quite sure he’s galvanized by the idea Law is the one who’s gonna sacrifice his life to make him immortal. Like... a great life to complete an even greater one? This is insane. And yet beautiful.
On the other hand, Law’s thoughts have been completely centred on taking revenge on Doffy for 10 years. Like, he was literally obsessed by that man, consumed by the hate he felt for him which obscured anything else, even his maniacal good sense in the end.
Turning this all into a tragic and tormented love story is as easy as drinking water. A long-term reciprocal hate mixed with a deep admiration for eachother (even from Law’s side, after all Doffy was the one who thaught him almost... everything?) which slowly turns into something terribly different. Imagine the tension between two arch enemies who have to admit their hate melted into passion... and yet still have this latent feeling of wanting the other’s death.......
Don’t know what’s your opinion about this kind of stories, but for me, the self proclaimed Queen of Angst, in love with the most tragical Theatre and Literature... THIS IS GOOD STUFF.
10/10 HANDS DOWN.
Doffy x Trebol
What tHE ACTUAL F***K.
-10/10
Doffy x Bellamy
Please, no.
Alright, I hate Bellamy. He’s exactly the kind of character I find terribly pathetic and incomplete. He barely has a personality of his own, he’s a wild fanboy with nothing original (not like Barto. Barto is the best fanboy ever. All my love goes to Barto.).
Now, he spent all his 34 years of life trying to... imitate Doffy? And yet he doesn’t even manage to truly understand him. So he’s worse than a fanboy, he’s attracted to the idealization of a man who’s not even half of the things he expects him to be. This is sad. Really sad. And call me a sadist, he deserved being humiliated imo. Maybe this helped him open his eyes and getting a life. Seriously.
It goes without saying I totally can’t see how a relationship between him and Doffy could work. Doffy despises him, the only kind of plot this thing could have is a quite abusive one :/ and since I deeply dislike abuse.... no. This ship is totally out of question.
0/10
Doffy x Monet
This is another ship which barely touches the canon. I sincerely think the "love" between the two of them is pretty much unilateral. Doffy respects Monet, he deeply appreciates her abilities, intelligence and loyalty, she's clearly among his closest subordinates, but... He doesn't love her in a romantic way. As for Monet, she's totally in love with him, she'd kill and die for him. And in fact that's what she does in the end.
Monet is not among my fav characters, but I still feel quite sorry for how things went for her. She gave her everything away for a helpless, almost obsessive, love.
If something between the two of them really happened for real, I think it was merely physical.
For this reason, tough I have to admit they'd actually look beautiful together, I can't ship them :/
5/10
Doffy x Vergo
Ok, I dislike Vergo. He's quite a flat character imo, don't even like his design 😅 I don't ship him with Doffy for this simple reason, but being honest they could perfectly work as a couple.
Vergo was among Doffy's very first "real friends", he was among those who were considered a family by him and, most importantly, he was the only one around his same age. They literally grew up together, likely supporting each other, and I wouldn't be honest if I said this has no chance to be a good assumptipn for a love story. A quite simple and basic one, if you want, but it's the most realistic kind of bond two people can make.
Still not shipping them, my vote is a honest 7/10.
Guess that's all?
Let me know what do you think about this 😆 do you agree with my votes? Or there are some points you totally disagree with?
Well, anyways. I had fun 😂

Hello! Could I by any chance get an x-men matchup? I’d love one from both the originals and prequels but if you only do one it’s fine.
My pronouns are she/her, I’m 19 (so 18 plus characters pls) and either male or female preference.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬: intp, type 5, true neutral, leo, slytherclaw, choleric temperament. I have massive introverted tendencies and am awkward in nature with new people. As a result I can come across as aloof and indifferent at first. I absolutely despise small talk. However with my friends I’m quite friendly and outgoing. Whenever I’m with my friends I can get really giggly and dorky with that childlike excitement when talking abt my recent hyperfixations. I open up to people very easily if we have similar interests. That’s when the chaotic theories and wacky ideas spout out. I tend to either overthink everything or not think at all. I’m a bit stubborn and picky. As a result I’m a bit of a control freak and want to do the things the way I do them but I won’t enforce this on anyone else unless the result directly affects me. Just let me do things the way I do them. I'm also quite dedicated and ambitious on what I want in my life and will stand by those decisions.
𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦: New media art. I mostly work with digital mediums like creative code. I love working with interaction design, web design, user experience and user interfaces. I also love special effects, and 3D/2d modeling. I’m currently trying to build my own mini video game. Apart from this, I love other mediums of art too especially drawing, digital illustrating, and printmaking.
𝗛𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦: let’s just say I spend way too much time daydreaming. Fan fiction, video games, movies, books, tv shows. My favorite genres are definitely fantasy, sci fi and alternate history. Anything that lets me daydream and disappear from reality for a while is a hobby of mine. I also love working out and weight lifting. I train everyday.
LIKES: I love lazy weekends at home, classic arcades, vanilla lattes, learning random new facts, spending time alone, intelligence, creativity, a good sense of witty humor, conversations where you can just be yourself and skip all the awkward small talk, the look on people’s faces when they ramble abt the stuff they’re into, a good home cooked meal, summer and warm weather, a good giggling session with friends esp abt fictional crushes ahahha.
DISLIKES: hugging and physical touch (tho I will warm up to you once I get close), large crowds, cold weather, admitting my anxieties, talking on the phone, going to the doctor/dentist, small talk, backstabbing people, when people have no ambition/purpose in life
WHAT I LOOK FOR: My love language is acts of service. I would love someone I can just chill with, have deep conversations abt anything with, someone I can explore my hobbies and learn abt theirs.
Thank You! 💜
Hello dear💖, thanks for your request.
For X men I ship you with:
Cyclops🕶
You have the strongest relationship out of both the prequal and originals.
You first met at the academy when professor X found you, you were a mutant.
You had the ability to change reality at will, you can alternate between dimensions.
Your ability was stable and unlike phoenix you could control it.
Cyclops and you both fell in love when you went on missions together.
You went on dates whether it was inside your home or somewhere outside.
He was respectable enough to let you have your own time.
Your ability was very rare and cyclops helped you through it.
You also got along with the rest of the team except jean grey and winter frost.
He has a kind heart and tends to reach those that deserve it or need mending.
If you were to marry it would be after the academy and you would live a peaceful life. Your child would have your eyes and his hair, they would have his ability mixed with dimension altering.
Anyways that's all I have:
Ta Ta✨

Otherkin/Otherkind: Identifting As an entity that is nonhuman Involuntarily
For Fictionkin[d], replace 'Nonhuman' with 'a fictional character (that can be human)'.
I thought I'd make a little post countering some claims about Otherkin I've seen it is rampant unfortunately.
I mean to inform, but ofc, feel free to correct me if I've gotten anything wrong as a non-kin, I wouldn't want to spread misinformation either so Otherkin feel free to correct me!
• “ Otherkin is a term that is new / Otherkin originated from Tumblr ”
It has existed as a term since 1990(though some even say earlier).
It did not originate from Tumblr, which launched in 2007.
It were written for the first time in the Elfenkind digest, in 1990: the '' Other '' in Otherkind referring to Other than Elves, as people needed a word that would define a Kin experience similar to Elfkin's, but who weren't kin with an elf (Elvenkind existed before Otherkind as a word, the latter was based off it).
• “ 'Kin equals identifying as something nonhuman/fictional ”
I've seen it's been common to exclude the fact that being 'Kin is to Identify involuntarily As something nonhuman/fictional.
If it weren't involuntary, that would make Otherlink a synonym for it: which it isn't, Otherlink being Voluntary unlike Otherkin + the word Otherlink had been based on, Copinglink, had been coined by tumblr user Who-Is-Page in order to cease the use of '' Copingkin '', if you do not believe me tumblr posts are still up), so saying Otherlink and Otherkin are the same isn't fact.
• “ Being Kin is a spiritual thing / Otherkin are either Psychological or Spiritual ”
Otherkin have an endless list of possible explanations for how they interpret their own Otherkinity with their kintype(s). Spiritual and Psychological are common ones, but others such as Energetic Resonance or Magic operating exist as well. Could be a mix of those. Or could be none of those, if the Kin person doesn't wish to find an explanation for it or anything similar.
• “ Words change ”
Otherkin have had their community for so long. They are not gatekeeping, they're just saying you can't misuse their terms, it's a term that defines a specific experience that matters. The Otherkin community IS against it: taking into account a few Fictionkin —the ones that had been only shown misuse and presented Kin as an umbrella term before they discovered the Otherkin community— validating the misuse of Kin, meanwhile ignoring the rest of the Otherkin community (plantkin, therians, etc.) doesn't add up.
The community's space have been invaded: if you go in the Fictionkin tags, a lot of wishkins have taken place of actual Fictionkin's safe space. That's why it matters, because people literally do not care about Otherkin and twist their terms to no end both in meaning, and in phrasing.
A lot of the time, the misinformed people that insist on misusing Kin terms only utilize it as some kind of meme / catchy post thing (for example, Judging you on your '' Kins '') and act as a self deprecating meme community. The Otherkin community may make jokes about their Otherkinity in the same fashion, but their safe space is utilized to discuss their Otherkin experiences as well, this is an entirely different type of community which bonds over the actual Kin experience.
• Otherkin aren't oppressed ”
They aren't, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't be given respect for their identity. The community has been bullied and such, with people making light of Kin beliefs such as making fun of people who believe they were the reincarnation of any nonhuman entity.
• “ Kins are what I relate to! / I don't Kin seriously though it's for fun / I kin to cope ”
Otherkinity is based on a person identifying as-involuntarily.
Kin do not choose their kintype, hence why they may dislike their kintype / not relate to their kintype if it is a fictional character / they may have very graphic/troubling memories in case they get any of those, —for example— their death in a past life.
Non-kins puts on Fictionkin the weird non-kin standard of having to be similar to their kintype to be valid Fictionkins, and a lot of wishkins invalidate Kins with basic Fictionkin needs like “ No Doubles rule! ” etc. and may make fun of people who identify As anything nonhuman and/or fictional while saying they '' kin '' everything themself.
Misusing Otherkin also makes other identities such as being a Synpathizer or being (Otherlink but I'm gonna assume)Fictionlink for example demeaned to label everything that isn't a kintype your '' Kin ''. I have seen Synpath as a word used in the rank of ''''' Low Kins ''''', when Synpath, coined by tumblr user stirdrawsandreblaws, was meant to describe a very deep connection to something/someone, as you can see in their Synpath FAQ that is still up (+ it says Synpaths aren't Kintypes in there). Seeing Linktypes put under the name of '' Kins / I kin for fun / I kin to cope '' also is demeaning to it, to estimate being a [insert any non-kin other- Alterhuman identity] is inferior to being 'Kin and that's pretty much the imagery people got.
Making Kin to be this identity term people want to use so badly it is somehow above and more worthy of use than Otherlink, Fiction-Hearted, person who has Synpath/ Synpathizer... Alterhuman is the umbrella term people seem to be looking for.
It is still strange people want to use Kin for everything and make like every Alterhuman term lose meaning / twist those ones too.
'' Kinning '' makes it look like an activity/hobby, but Otherkin is an identity. Also this weird idea of '' Kinning '' people have gotten originated from a tumblr group called the Yandere B*tch Club, around 2008, who were really awful individuals. Among other things, they pretended to have DID and to be Japanese while they weren't. Also are the ones who spread misinfo about Otherkin's meaning and who began all this.
Btw the term ''Kinnie'' was used for bullying Otherkin for their beliefs way back and though it is not a slur, it still isn't to be used on Otherkin without their consent as it may make some uncomfy / some use it for themselves but it doesn't mean you can call a whole group of people '' ___ Kinnies '' randomly / also non-kins such as me should avoid the use that word in the first place because of its nature though not a slur
~
Please respect Otherkin is the conclusion, hope this could help with some claims I've seen

After Oz: Oz Squad
The Oz Squad is a comic that run in the 90s, written by Steven Ahlquist. Its main purpose was to update the characters of Baum works for a “more adult audience”.
I usually don’t like these pieces of work. These “dark”, “gritty”, “edgy” adaptations of Oz that try to modernize it and darken it. I usually don’t like them because they are poorly done, often include too much sex than necessary, and often aren’t faithful at all to any sort of Oz lore and merely use vague references. But this comic book actually started in a fascinating way. It manages to darken AND modernize the Oz lore perfectly, with a very strong basis.
In this story, Oz and Earth are now linked together. While people from Earth don’t go on Oz, they know of its existence and now all the stories about Oz are true, while members of Oz can actually go on Earth whenever they went. But as a result, all sorts of threats arose from both of the worlds, and Dorothy Gale with her faithful friends formed a special task force named the “Gale Squad” that is supposed to treat with all the Oz-related threats and crimes.
As I said, this is actually a strong and fresh basis, that plays out very well in the beginning. There is barely any sexuality, no an excess of blood and gore, and most of the “moral darkness” of this setting is actually explained by the fact that our world has a deep, profond, complex morality that clashes violently with the mindset of Oz where everything is black or white, good or wicked. Thus, the Ozian people that come to Earth always end up changed in a way or another.
This idea is actually the core idea of this work (well, was) and is also this comic’s greatest strenght. The comic studies the clash and oppositions between our world and the Ozian one, and how they would influence and change each other - which results in philosophy, morality and politics.
One thing this comic book does (that usually the other “dark edgy” adaptations don’t do) is that it keeps the world of Oz identical to the writings of Baum. It is still a marvelous and peaceful place filled with wonders and magic, that still has the same struggles and ways of life than in the books (well… almost. I’ll talk about it later). The darkness and the “edgy” doesn’t come so much from a re-invention of Oz than from the confrontation of Oz and our world.
[ I said there was “barely” any sex. Usually there is no mention of sexuality, except for one moment - a sex joke with “rewinding” Tik-Tok. This was a really weird and out-of-style moment that seemed both ridiculous and childish, so I have to mention this as a flaw. But usually it doesn’t go that far.]
As far as the Ozian lore used… at first I thought the comic would stick only to the book lore (we see Tik-Tok, the Magic Belt, Ozma, Jack Pumpkinhead…), however there are also elements that strongly hint at the movie-lore (the Eastern Witch being associated with red and rubies, the winged monkeys being servants of the wicked witch of their own free will…). But, later in the comic book, some weird decisions appeared. It is now the Witch of the East, and not the one of the West, that melts when entering in contact with water. Mombi is the Witch of the West. Smith and Tinkers are alive and living in Oz, not lost in paintings or on the moon. Such little details that make me wonder if the author wanted to re-invent the Ozian lore, or if he made mistakes based on a poor knowledge of Oz.
It is so difficult to see that because, otherwise, the author actually does a wonderful job at freshening and reinventing the Oz lore. For example, the idea that “no one can die in Oz” is taken back and reinterpreted as “Ozians have the natural ability to heal at an extremely fast rate and grow back organs”. The backstory about the Tinman’s origin is also quite fresh. The idea that Dorothy brought to life the Scarecrow with the Silver Slippers is a not-so-well-known idea that is however present ever since the Baum stage adaptations. And I love the take on the four cardinal Witches, this idea that they are an “institution” much older than any form of monarchy or ruling in Oz, and thus that, as a whole, they can allow themselves to be above moral considerations, because before being “good” or “wicked” they are, in the end, all Witches. A fascinating idea (and quite similar to my personal headcanons and ideas, so of course that will please me).
There is actually a big focus on the past of Oz, thanks to a time-travelling machine, and it seems all good… until the series ends abruptly without explaining everything. Another element that wasted a bit the potential of this story was… the lack of focus.
Indeed, the further you go in the comics, the further the author goes away from Oz and starts using the characters to tell unrelated, weird stories (I even wondered several times if I was supposed to know the reference to these stories, or if it was a nod to another comic or book). For exemple, the Scarecrows ends up meeting Leonardo da Vinci and Joan d’Arc at the same time as vampires and werewolves. Or Dorothy ends up for a time in a Far West town and become sheriff. And that’s not speaking about the “Special” that includes the murder of president Kennedy, the MIB and Baba-Yaga. So many stories that don’t feel like Oz at all, and actually don’t even look like the first arcs of the comic, to the point you wonder if there is some problem somewhere, or issues missing. Which is also as many pages wasted, when they could have told us more about these stories and mysteries hinted throughout the chapters.
Another thing I don’t particularly like (and which is a flaw I find often in Oz-related works) is the inclusion of other pieces of fiction. For example, in this comic we talk of Liliput and the Baron Munchaunsen. I generally dislike to see a mix of so many “outside” elements with Oz, when the Oz world has already enough worlds, lands and characters to explore on its own.
But as I said, this comic also has a lot of qualities. For example, while it focuses a lot on technology and robotics, it never goes into a full sci-fi and stays in the “magical technology” mindset of the Oz books. Similarly, while it presents a lot of politic talks and spying plots, it is treated on an equal foot, and as a whole, with the fantasy and the magical material. A lot of qualities unfortunately drowned or othershadowed by other flaws, mostly due to the author apparently not knowing when restraining his creative flow, or not realizing when something may be of bad taste.
I’ll end with the biggest “WTF” moment for me: there were nazis in Oz. Apparently, after WW2, some nazis managed to enter Oz and recreated the war there. Including the concentration camps. Yep.
It is merely alluded through flashbacks and scenes but… I mean, that is really poor and bad taste. If yet it had been a more subtle reference, if it had been disguised or diluted but… no, straight nazis.

Core Character Ranking - No Straight Roads
At this point with the game having been out for well over four and a half months, I figure that with having a small piece of fiction under my belt, and with the fandom having cooled down from the initial release but still hot enough for content to steadily be coming out from the fanbase, now is a good time for me to share my thoughts on No Straight Roads - rather, what I call the Core Characters of No Straight Roads.
I call them this because they are the collective protagonist main characters and antagonistic bosses - not filling up one bucket or another quite satisfactory. I might even make this into a series if anyone cares enough to hear my thoughts on other pieces of fiction. If you’re interested, continue below the line.
Oh, also, spoilers for No Straight Roads if you still care about that.
Disclaimer before continuing onwards - I’ve never actually played No Straight Roads! I’m not exactly a person with enough wealth to throw at my own interests and hobbies, but I feel I’ve absorbed enough through culture osmosis, 100% walkthroughs of the game, and other people’s interpretations of the game to be able to make my own informed opinions on the characters.
Also, this isn’t a “bosses” ranking list - this is a character ranking list. Meaning that individuals are going to be ranked rather than the whole. For example, Sayu will be divided into the four members behind Sayu (hereafter refered to as “Team Sayu”) as well as Sayu herself. This also means I won’t fully go on the gameplay mechanics as I don’t have enough experience with it to make a fully informed decision. I will talk about what I’ve seen though.
With that in mind, we’ll be starting as all of these lists usually do, from the bottom ranking to the top: ________________________________________________________________ 20. Eve
Now, this may come as a shock, but I absolutely despise divas. Eve was entertaining enough, but through her videos she was only relatable and likable to me before she and Zuke broke up. Mostly because I could relate with her self-loathing and her found happiness.
Still... setting someone’s hair on fire? And then being confused as to why that happened? Then completely blaming the victim and using that mistake as fuel to shut out any other potential kindred relationship for the future? I’ve seen people who do that; it’s pathetic at best and annoying to see at worst. Thankfully, due to Zuke, she does eventually come around.
Her music and boss fight are interesting enough I suppose. I like how the perspective changes and I adore when you have to switch over to Mayday and it becomes a fully chaotic mess of limbs, doubt, hatred, and rage. I live for that chaotic aesthetic.
Otherwise, she’s just... the weakest character to me in No Straight Roads.
Maybe she’ll Eve-ntually earn my respect in supplementary materials. ________________________________________________________________ 19. Sofa
The first member of Team Sayu I’m mentioning and he’s this low on the list. Ouch. Not to say that I hate him, the hate started and ended with Eve - he, along with the others don’t really have much of a personality canonically that I can see to judge him on. But in terms of his design, I’ve never been much of a fan of “overweight and silly” outside of Doctor Eggman/
Do not take this the wrong way. I am in NO way fatshaming ANYONE.
I just have never liked that design in fictional characters. See Hifumi Yamada from “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc” for more on what I mean
Still, he’s a core member of Team Sayu and from the fanfiction I’ve read he’s one of the better characters to write with. Maybe if we got a spinoff or other related materials, he’d go up a few numbers in rank, but as it stands, he’s the weakest of the group.
Sofa-r so good, let’s move on before these puns go too far. ________________________________________________________________ 18. Mayday Yeah. I’m not a huge fan of Mayday herself. Hotheaded protagonists are fine here and there, but she’s so hot-headed I’m surprised that she didn’t have the fire aesthetic as well. I guess with it all being taken by Tatiana, they could only give her a warm color scheme so it wasn’t redundant.
Her gameplay seems fine, if a bit basic. The heavy hitter is also a hothead, who could guess. I kinda like how someone as scrawny and small as her also has the biggest heart and temper. Also the gags that come from her relating to the other bosses are hysterical and make for good protagonist material. Still, outside of her interaction with DK West, Zuke, and Team Sayu, as well as the very end of the game, there’s a lack of enough “heroic” traits that makes Mayday fall flat from just shy of ranking higher.
I don’t have a clever pun, joke, or one-liner for Mayday, so let’s go to the next person in my list. ________________________________________________________________ 17. DJ Subatomic Supernova I have never really liked disco or dance music at the best of times, but I love space. So what happens when you mix something I feel lukewarm to, something I absolutely adore, and combine it with a trait about a person I absolutely also despise?
You get space helmet man who likes fresh ice cream and goes on for minutes about how great he is and how everyone else around him are plebeians - not knowing how pretentious the stage name “Subatomic Supernova” is.
If I had made this list when I had first seen No Straight Roads, he’d be only just ahead of Eve just because I dislike her so much more than I hate egotism of DJ Subatomic Supernova. But he’s now gone higher on the list since he’s grown on me thanks to the fandom and me realizing the game is parodying the stereotypes and the industry of music. Also, Zuke’s drum solo is AMAZING with the EDM version of DJ SS’s theme. He’s even gone so far as to become half of my second favorite paring in the NSR fandom!
Shine on, you funky space man. ________________________________________________________________
16. DK West Ewah! Older of the two brothers by age, younger of the two by maturity. I absolutely love this goofball. His shadow powers are absolutely amazing to watch and while I normally don’t like rap outside of Eminem (and even then only select tracks), he grew on me a lot. He’s so unique and the culture he’s based on from what I understand was researched with a lot of respect and care.
I’ve heard (and seen) that the third fight ramps up the difficulty way too much, but considering that Mayday is attempting to repair a broken household, it makes sense it’d be such a heavy undertaking from a gameplay and story point.
Also DK West Encounter 1 is a smash hit, telling us everything we really need to know between DK West and Zuke while being an absolutely great song that reminds me of Epic Rap Battles of History for anyone that remembers that.
He overshadows his previous competition by a large margin, and I can’t wait to see more of him if that’s possible. ________________________________________________________________ 15. Yinu’s Mom As the real mastermind behind Yinu’s position in NSR, it suddenly makes so much sense as to why a literal child is in such a strict EDM hierarchy like NSR. What keeps her from going above and beyond this ranking isn’t anything more than just the pressure she puts on Yinu to perform. During the fight, and what I can only presume also happens outside of concerts in the universe of No Straight Roads, it seems like she entirely forgets the reason Yinu keeps playing the piano in the first place.
However, I am a huge sucker for family dynamics, and her stopping her assault due to the memories that Yinu was able to drag out of her through the broken piano by playing Heart of the Prodigy is enough to almost enough for me to reach the level of emotional catharsis as the ending of Pixar’s “Inside Out” did for me. And the way she shielded Yinu when they were falling, the gasp of fear that she might not survive the fall - just pure, amazing storytelling through “show, don’t tell”.
I will say, the more morbid part of me that enjoys things like Danganronpa, Your Turn To Die, and Nonary Games, had the thought of “if it weren’t for the fact that Mayday and Zuke also fell from that height and survived (and that this game is meant for younger audiences), Yinu would have became an orphan.”
Mother of the Year award goes to Yinu’s mom for being the most realistic, sympathetic, non-dead mom in fiction. ________________________________________________________________ 14. Yinu I love classical music, but I don’t really like children. Yinu is an exception to my general dislike of children. The promotion that was released before the game was a little eye-rolling, but it was also funny. Fortunately, in the game, Yinu is so much more mature and interesting than the promotional material lead us to believe. The way the piano plays plays in the base version of VS Yinu conveys just how talented she is at nine years old. It’s a shame that it slowly gets covered up by the EDM version as the battle goes on.
But her reasoning for playing the piano, through the photos you get from Yinu’s backstory is all the more reason to respect this literal child. She turned the loss of her music teacher and father into a shining passion for music. The piano being the very memento of her deceased dad - looking at the photos and then realizing what you did in shattering her piano creates a fantastic retroactive look at just how destructive Bunkbed Junction’s revolution really is to people.
We’re not even half-way down the list, and yet we already have great characters like this, so let’s keep looking. ________________________________________________________________ 13. Dodo There’s been a huge gap since the last Team Sayu member. So what makes Dodo so great compared to Sofa? Well, the deep voice that comes from the scrawny, blue man is funny to me. It caught me off-guard the first time I heard it and had me giggling for hours afterwards after I paused the video to regain my composure.
That, and mocap work is hard work. On top of that, though he’s mostly not the face everyone remembers when fans think of Sayu, it takes a lot of talent and self-confidence to dance like a cutesy mermaid despite being a male, at least in my opinion. So I see him as having high confidence, but also being like Zuke in the “chill and mostly quiet” department.
There’s not much else for me to say, since most of Team Sayu doesn’t have blatantly obvious character traits. So let’s move on. ________________________________________________________________ 12. Sayu Sayu herself is... well, not real. It’s like trying to judge any number of the Vocaloid/UTAU voice banks. Sure you can place any number of personalities and messages into it, but in reality she’s just been built as a “cutsie, wootsie, pink mermaid” idol.
Still, the personality that Team Sayu gives her is fantastic. Her fight is annoying, and lackluster even to watch, but her song is amazing in all of its forms, even if for me the vaporwave version is the least effective of all of them - and Analog Aquatics is the BEST lead-up song to it, even ahead of Heart of the Prodigy.
Hatsune Miku? Who’s that? I only see Sayu as the best Vocaloid. ________________________________________________________________ 11. Remi Technically the creator of Sayu in the first place and her designer, Remi seems to be the “all according to plan” type. To think that his passion for art would lead to a career such as NSR, and a close-knit friend group like Team Sayu. It’s something that I’m sure that every artist has had as their goal at one point or another.
I highly respect anyone with the ability to put their artwork out in public, both in real life and as a character. Even so, there are characters I like even beyond Remi, and once again, we don’t have much to go off of for him outside of the very few times we see him in Sayu’s battle.
Almost all of Team Sayu has been covered at this point - heck, even Sayu herself has already been covered. So where’s Tila you ask? Well, we’ll get to that, but not for a while. ________________________________________________________________ 10. Tatiana “Kul Fyra” Qwartz From the very moment we first hear her voice, we can tell she’s all business and order. When we watch all of NSR reject the rock music outright and listen to Tatiana’s speech afterwards? How she seems to disregard her artists own safety and prioritizing undermining Bunkbed Junction’s efforts just because she can’t bear to remember her old bandmates? Wonderfully selfish for a heartbroken character.
Also, for those who hate her time-oriented powers and how weakly linked they are to Tatiana herself? Consider this: She’s almost 50 years old by the time Bunkbed Junction starts their revolution. She’s lived long enough to be anyone in the cast’s mom - probably even old enough to be Team Sayu and Yinu’s grandma. She has only seen a progressive march of time erode at everything she ever loved and cared about.
The blazing passion within her is brought back to her through Bunkbed Junction’s actions, but through a reversal of time and a reflection of her memories. Bunkbed Junction literally shatters the world view that she constructed for herself to ignore the regret and pain that had been slowly eating her up inside without her ever even having fully realized it in the first phase. By the time Tatiana reverts back to using her Kul Fyra form, she’s trying so hard to list any number of reasons to ignore her past and focus on what little time she actually has left to work on the future.
This was a bit of a longer explanation and reasoning, but for a character as amazing and symbolically complex as Tatiana, she absolutely deserves it. And as you’ll see for the next character, this is only a fraction of my love for the characters of No Straight Roads. ________________________________________________________________9. Neon J And here we start with my absolutely favorite characters, the ones I not only enjoy reading and writing about, but that in canon I can wholeheartedly accept them for who they are, flaws and all.
My grandpa was in the navy, and to make a long story short there were some complicated things that happened that required me to live with both him and my grandma when I was really little. So already there’s something that I can latch onto and adore. Even with how cringy Neon J is at the end with him attempting to try to give an epic war hero speech, my grandpa can be the same way sometimes, and that’s okay. They kind of act similarly outside of that as well.
His design is so sleek and smooth, and sometimes I forget that he’s actually a cyborg, unlike his sons boyband creations. Normally I hate the military, war, and what it all represents at a cynical level, but when it’s portrayed in a way like No Straight Roads did for Neon J and 1010, it reminds me of the people who actually join to serve their country and the people in it, despite how few in their countries actually deserve their respect.
And yeah, I can already hear the “blah blah fiction is poorly portraying law enforcement/the military because ect ect”. I disagree. Think of it this way: Neon J is a fun example of what a leader in a military unit is. Not only that, he’s extremely loyal and willing to do what it takes to get the job done - including having a program inside 1010 that makes them explode when they fail to generate the requisite fan praise that’s likely required to keep 1010 merchandise flying off of the shelves and thus prove to the other NSR artists that even robot boybands can be used to help Vinyl City; AND use said robot boyband as weapons to fight off any threats - internal or external.
Also think about what he had to go through to become a cyborg. That means he likely had to replace everything that’s on the surface - imagine what he needed to replace underneath all of that metal. How much of his original body is left? How badly did the war he was involved in hurt him? How many comrades did he lose to try to recreate that feel in a boyband? Aren’t the implications of that so much more grand than the surface level “radar head man is bad representation of military people because he’s silly and ineffective at his job”. Furthermore, tell me of a person in the real world who lost so much of their body they literally had to become a cyborg that has a literal radar for a head.
On top of all of that he’s the second half of my second favorite pairing. Not that is has any major bearing on how great Neon J already is. Is it silly that Neon J tries to give a huge speech at the end when we know Bunkbed Junction is just trying to get to Tatiana? Yes. But it’s fun.
I salute the No Straight Roads team for creating such an amazing character . ________________________________________________________________8. Blue 1010 Robot | Purl-Hew Ah yes, now we start getting to what’s taking up most of the top 10 slots. Kind of funny that not all of the 1010 members are going into the top 5 slots with how much I ranted and raved about Neon J. But I have characters I like way more than most of the 1010 band members.
And yes, I’ll bring this up now since we’re actually talking about 1010, that will apply to all the members of 1010 so I don’t have to repeat myself: I already know that they’re meant to parody boy bands, pop bands, and how similar all of them are and ect ect ect. That doesn’t stop me from going “hee hoo pretty boys” at fictional characters. And, yes, I know they don’t canonically have names, but I’m going with what’s been accepted across the fandom. Also all of their body types are the same: I like them alot. They’re tall, in monochrome (hah, chrome), and the way they bob to the beat in their battle is fantastic and shows they are powered by music as much as any machine is in the universe of No Straight Roads.
Starting off with my least favorite of them, Purl-Hew just reminds me of Garnet from “Steven Universe”, which is not a bad thing. It’s just that outside of what we learn of Garnet, she’s a character I often forget exists. I think it’s honestly the shades and the blue, more square-like hair that makes me draw the comparison. Purl-Hew strikes me as the “cool” one. The one that recites his poetry in coffee shops and is the sensitive boy with a cold exterior. You know the kind of person I’m talking about.
Other than that, I like the 1010 branding on the side of his head. I normally don’t like hairstyles like that, but somehow with how it flows and how non-obnoxious it is, I actually find myself liking the hairstyle. Also coupled with the fact that I see him as the second eldest of all five of them, who likely cemented an identity for himself before the others, makes me like his entirety even more.
A cool dude deserves a cool transition, but since this isn’t a video, a line break will have to do. ________________________________________________________________7. Red 1010 Robot | Zimelu Zimelu is one of the ones that strikes me as the one that’s borderline trying to break free from the rest of the band and become his own artist. The mowhawk, the color red, even to what he’s likely supposed to represent in-universe. Many see him as having anger issues, and considering what 1010 is about coupled with, again the hair style and his color, yeah I can see why.
But I also see him having a somewhat tsundere side. Not overtly fully tusndere as “I-It’s not like I like you or anything!” but more of a “Hey, I got you [insert favorite food] to eat. Don’t read too much into it.” while looking off to the side to avoid seeing your reaction just because he’s not sure if he can handle the thought of him possibly being wrong and then seeing you be disappointed kind of tsundere.
I don’t see a lot of peices of work exploring this concept, and I’d love to see more of it - or heck, even other personality traits that could be lying under the rebellious design of him.
I see him as the middle child of the group, which could also add to the rebellious personality and anger issues. Not sure if anyone agrees with me on this though. ________________________________________________________________6. Yellow 1010 Robot | Haym Okay, so this is a bit weird. Haym is my second least favorite in terms of design, but third favorite because he’s supposed to be the sunny, shy, and sweet one. I see him as the second youngest of all of the 1010 members. Old enough to have experience and understand his purpose, but young enough to retain that childhood-like innocence and sweetness.
I think he’s content about his place in 1010. It’s not that he would slack off or anything, but he’d be the most comfortable with his identity out of all five of them, even years down the line. Where Purl-Hew has to upkeep his identity, Haym is fine just being who he is and happy that the crowd accepts him for who he is.
Also him saying “even your lips, which form that raaaaadiant smile~” made me smile like an idiot and my heart flutter when I first saw him - and don’t even get me started on his pose when he was saying that. So that probably has at least some bearing on his placement in this list. ________________________________________________________________5. Green 1010 Robot | Eloni Haym was weird for me to admit I still don’t fully like his design, but Eloni’s design is actually worse for me. I still don’t like the fact he looks like you could hang him on a Christmas tree or a keychain and not be out of place there. But as I learned more - especially the part where in-universe he’s the least-liked because he’s the prankster type, my heart melted for the guy.
While I myself am not a prankster or a fan of prankster types, sympathetic characters that are generally unliked in-universe for something minor or not their fault is something that will always get me to love a character. There’s also a lot of great fanfiction out there for Eloni, playing with the idea of jealousy, feelings of inadequacy, and the resulting love and support that inevitably follows from a strong supporting family.
Also, I see him as the youngest, and likely the one who thought it’d be a good idea to give everyone reindeer heads for the Christmas event instead of whatever was originally planned. The fans probably loved it anyways, even better than what was originally planned, but never knew it was Eloni’s messing around that gave them the toy-soldier-with-reindeer-heads 1010.
Second best 1010 boy deserves to be in the top 5 for all of this and more. ________________________________________________________________4. Tila Tila? You mean the one girl who only goes “pyun” a few times? The only one of Team Sayu that has any voice lines that are more than sobs, grunts, tremoring fear, and sounds of triumph?
Yes. That character. You want to know why?
First, lets start with her design. She wears an oversized hoodie and glasses - already two things I can relate to. The color contrast is just perfect between her hair, skin, and hoodie. Her design alone to me screams “high-functioning introvert”.
Her one line? Going “pyun” a few times? Absolutely adorable. I wanted to hear her say more lines, and the delivery of them being so uncertain filtered through a microphone to not come out that way as Sayu? She is definitely the shy one of the four of them. Also let’s not forget she’s Sayu’s voice actress in universe. Meaning that VS Sayu is something that Tila is singing.
Also, in the background material for Sayu, she’s the one that apologizes for using Remi’s art for one of her songs, and starts the collaboration with all four members of Team Sayu. It’s her story we follow. Not any of the other four members, though Remi does actually say something.
Though we don’t get much else of her, which prevents her from taking a spot in my top 3 picks, if we got just a little bit more from her, I’d definitely bump her to 3rd, maybe even let her take 1st. As it stands, compared to the rest of Team Sayu and Sayu herself, top 5 is nothing to sneeze at. ________________________________________________________________3. Kliff “No one like’s Kliff! He’s evil and bad!”
I mostly disagree with that statement, politely of course. Does no one like him? Seems that way in the fandom, but I like him. Is he evil? Yes, most certainly. Is he “bad”? Well, what’s the context of bad in this case? A bad plot-twist? A bad character? A bad guide? Not really. Well, except for the last part, possibly, but even then he’s still serviceable.
I mean take into context that Tatiana is Kul Fyra. On a first viewing, after having fought so many people after first meeting Kliff, most people would have forgotten that he, like Mayday, also likes Kul Fyra and was even there for her concerts. People who have insane memory would remember it, but for the rest of us, it probably came as a shock that Kliff would send a satellite into the NSR tower.
But he’s a fan that put Kul Fyra on a pillar, just like Mayday. He’d hoped that rock artists would get her back into rock music, to reignite the fire in her, so that he could enjoy her music again. He even says that he’s still her fan. He questions Tatiana “did my loyalty mean nothing to you?”.
And while yes, she didn’t technically owe him anything, the way that Tatiana shoots Kliff down so coldly after all of his attempts and his waiting - after she shut herself away from any potential future differing opinions and banning rock so she couldn’t remember the heartache - he snaps.
I’m not saying that Kliff was right, or that his reaction was fully justified. But imagine him saying he’ll be the strategic planner of NSR - after all, it was thanks to him that Mayday and Zuke got as far as they did. They knew what was coming ahead of time due to his advice. Mayday and Zuke would just be figureheads. It would be entirely realistic, and not make Kliff entirely evil.
Still, with all the hypotheticals out of the way, having an entirely selfish twist villain like Kliff was amazing. When you go through the entire story knowing how it will end on a second playthrough, suddenly his motives and what he says makes so much more sense.
I want to see (or maybe someday I’ll write) a redemption arc for Kliff. He’s not so fargone that I’d write him off as another villain for the sake of evil, but it would take actual work and effort. It’s something I look forwards to seeing in the far future.
Though he is also fun to see as an antagonist in all of these stories I read about him. ________________________________________________________________2. Zuke On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rank Zuke an 11. From his design, to his animations, to his background, his voice, his lines - everything is an 11/10 for me.
Starting with design again, normally I’d dislike the major contrast such a saturated green against a saturated blue. But there’s other bits in Zuke’s design - his red eyes, the fact that his clothing is a good neutral base to draw away from the chaos of colors of his head - only to lead back into what looks like ultra-comfortable blue-and-green flannel with dark blue flats? It all screams the perfect chill dude to hang out with.
His personality matches too. He’s laid-back, wise, rational, humble, and kind. Almost the perfect man in every way. Though he has his limits, especially when it comes to DK West, and he’s not always the most intelligent at times. Sometimes he takes a minute to put two-and-two together, especially when he’s under pressure and nervous.
And his drumsticks being used as a walking cane when he’s not battling, admitting that it’s NSR property - recognizing that NSR itself is not bad, it just needs change. He doesn’t generally talk smack unless, again, it’s DK West. He probably says less than Mayday does out of the two, but I wasn’t counting. I was just thankful that he was talking at all, attempting to be the voice of reason in situations, telling Eve he was wrong for leaving so suddenly (even though he’s not at fault for his hair being set on fire), reconciling with DK West after Mayday gets them to talk about their feelings to each other - he experiences the most growth over the longest period of time.
In fact, it feels like we’re witnessing Zuke’s entire story through the eyes of Mayday. Sure, Mayday has a stake in the conflict, and a small bit of growth, but none nearly so much as the jolly green giant between them. Heck, he’s so good that he made DJ Subatomic Supernova’s music actually sound good.
If this wasn’t enough, he’s also one half of my favorite pairing. Where’s the other half? Where he belongs of course. ________________________________________________________________1. White 1010 Robot | Rin Look guys, my favorite character of No Straight Roads is finally here. Let me be the ideal fan and give him my utmost attention.
ATTENTION!
Hoo boy have I been waiting to talk about Rin! His design is the one that I love the most despite how simple and obviously pandering it is. I mean come on, he’s got the kind of hairstyle that just screams “typical emo/scene/goth/pop leader” without the sweeping bit of hair in front of the eye like Haym’s or other emo/scene/goth hair styles. He has no unique colors to himself (white and black are technically not colors). Heck, as a robot meant to parody pop/boybands, he technically should be the most bland and uninteresting part of 1010.
But that’s where you’d be wrong. Rin is the one who leads the flirting attempt against Mayday. Rin is the one who is focused on the most of all the 1010 members when the cutscenes play. Rin is the one who’s talking the most in the promotional video for 1010 and No Straight Roads. Even though Zimelu takes up most of the spot in the in-game photo op, Rin is the second most noticable. In the “wefies” the 1010 members make in the promotional video, Rin is front and center.
Rin is the poster child. Meaning he has the most mounting on him of all the members of 1010. And this can manifest in any number of interesting character traits. I’ve already written an (as of posting this review) three chapter fanfic on Rin and his dynamic with not only the other half of my favorite pairing, but also his dynamic with Neon J, and how both Zuke and Neon J view Rin - through what I perceive how Rin actually feels and acts when he’s not on stage.
I could probably do an entire 20 minute review on why Rin is the single-best character of No Straight Roads, both in and out of canon, but I don’t have the tools for it. And as a side note, the guitar solo that Mayday can play over the song is the single-best of all the guitar solos, the second being the one against Yinu - and that deep passion for 1010 is reflected well in the guitar solo.
Zuke may be an 11/10, but Rin is a perfect 10/10 - and I wouldn’t have it any other way . ________________________________________________________________Afterwords Finally, after an entire 4 hours of writing, I’d like to hear your thoughts on all of this, if you’ve made it this far.
What did you agree and disagree with? Feel free to comment if you want.
As for me, I think I’ll continue to browse the work of the fandom, keep an ear out for any future updates or sequels, and rock on with the amazing soundtrack of No Straight Roads jamming loudly in my ears.
Rock on fellow No Straight Roads fans! Or whatever genre you prefer to listen to.

Answering All Questions from a Prompt Cos I Do What I Want
1. What’s one experience your character had that made them very afraid?
The first time he woke up to find that what he’d dismissed as being entirely the formation of one of his nightmares - was very much real. Prompted the realisation of just how much harm he was capable of doing.
2. Does your character have a deep and/or dark secret? If so, what is it?
Leo doesn’t let people know that his sire & grandsire never entirely aligned themselves with the Camarilla. Considering it took him some time to work that out himself he holds hope that at his current age people simply won’t go digging. There is also generally a lot of things he’s done in the name of fulfilling some role or another that he feels deep shame for. That’s less kept secret and more... he just doesn’t speak about it.
3. Have they ever lost a loved one? What happened to them, and are they the same as they were before they lost them?
Many. Regularly. Loss is simply part of un-life for him. The fact he hasn’t lost anyone near and dear to him over the last half a century hangs over him like a bad omen. He’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. But a short list of the most notable losses that had an summary of their impact on him: - Eldest brother : sickness/starvation ~1510 - resulted in Leo taking on a survivalist ‘me before others’ attitude. - Best friend : first feed post-embrace 1516 - made him terrified of himself for several years - First wife : Mother order him to burn her to death late-1520s - made him highly aware of the fact that he can be turned on people he’s cared about - Ell (one of his ‘siblings’) : sent on a suicide mission Mother had him sign off on ~1630?1620? - was the last straw in hammering home what he’d already seen over the course of being blood bonded. They were all disposable to her, and it was only a matter of time before he’d meet the same fate. - Nossie he’d fallen for : execution 1940s - after he had committed several masquerade breaches Vindr ordered Leo to use trust he had with him to follow through with the execution. It’d been a long time since he’d killed someone that dear to him and the ease at which he did it unsettled even himself.
4. Has your character ever been hurt or betrayed by someone they thought they could depend on? What happened?
Yes. He’d had ‘siblings’ try to double-cross him on plenty of occasions. Usually was via trying to pin the blame for something on him.
5. Would they ever turn on someone they just met in order to save themselves?
Yes.
6. Have they ever committed a crime, or something they felt was wrong? What was it?
The entire Crimes Act. At least, as far as he has the capacity for doing so.
7. If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would it be and why?
Vindr. The time spent blood bonded to each other between 1860 - 1989.
8. Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?
There are several hunters based in the country he’s trying to figure out how to get rid off without causing a scene or draw any attention to. They’re a threat to his community.
9. Is the character a victim of abuse?
Yes.
10. What were the character’s parents like? What was the affect the parents had on the character?
His father was a minor merchant managing the coming and goings of goods from his home village. His work placed them above standard serfdom allowing him the chance to learn basic reading and writing before his sire (Mother) adopted him. Any influence they had on him has long since been overshadowed by other things.
11. What are your character’s coping mechanisms?
Burying himself in work and activities. Finding relatable aspects in fictional characters. Joking around and making the most of opportunities where he doesn’t have to take things too seriously.
12. Do they like to suffer? Like to see other people suffering?
After lifetimes of suffering he’d prefer to avoid it. However he does have a cruel streak and enjoy seeing other people suffer. Has that ‘it’ll build character’ and ‘it’s not that bad so suck it up’ sort of attitude towards other peoples shit. Sometimes he just wants someone to suffer as a way to exercise control over them.
13. What does it take to make your character cry?
Simultaneously a lot, and also real minor stuff. Ya know, the standard shit to come from suppressing/bottling up your reactions to incredibly straining situations. He’ll be cold and apathetic in some incredibly horrible situation he ought to cry about. Then some time later break down post screaming fit at some inanimate object because it wasn’t cooperating with him.
14. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
Other than his prioritisation of maintaining his own power and survival over anything else? The fact he’s stuck at 16 years old. That’s an incredibly difficult thing to work around - even when in a relationship based purely on romantic feelings. These modern nights he feels that both physical and overall age lock him out of legitimate relationships entirely. To the point where he doesn’t even play at stringing people along on one sided things ~for the drama~ like he used to.
This particular reason is what’s had him friendzoned by the twins, despite them being the best probably candidate and him pulling kind of a Edward on them.
15. What is their biggest fear? What in general scares them? How do they act when they’re scared?
Biggest fear is hard to pinpoint, but in general the concept of being completely helpless and not in control of his own actions. When scared he gets paranoid and hyper-vigilant of his surroundings. Very on guard towards any threats and looking for away to run away.
16. What are your character’s vices and bad habits?
Impulsiveness. Knowingly causing harm. Smoking.
17. Is your character afraid of death? Why/why not?
Absolutely. He doesn’t even like to think about what final death will have in store for him.
18. Would society call your character a good guy or a bad guy? what would they say they are?
From societies perspective from everything he’s been involved with - 120% a bad guy. He’d say the same and mark himself down as being an Anti-hero at best.
19. What is your character insecure about?
His own paranoia causing him to flip from being impulse to being incredibly indecisive at times.
20. What was something they struggled with greatly and how did they overcome it?
Being blood bonded. Overcome through a mix of share force of will and personal introspection.
21. Does your character have anyone that they really care about, to the point that they would give their life for them? If so, who are they and what is your character’s relation to them? If not, do they wish they did? Is there anyone they wish they could build such a relationship with?
While he doesn’t think he’d give his lives for them because that sort of behaviour is incredibly foolish in his eyes - his current found family from the past century. His central coterie of the twins and Alexandra in particular. He will throw just about everyone in his city under the bus in the name of protecting them. And, they’d do the same. In post-prince verse when his city falls Alex ends up the one sacrificing her life for him and god the guilt is sickening.
He’s quite happy with his current little familial circle but he’s hoping to get closer with Danny. Get him to be part of that found family circle properly.
22. If they could change just one thing about themselves, what would it be?
He’d like to have the capacity to care for people without feeling like he’s going to inevitably be their downfall.
23. Is your character more physically or emotionally strong? Why is this?
If we’re talking strong in terms of taking blows that can be taken I wanna say physically cos despite it being his lowest stat his Fortitude is high so he soaks damage fairly easily.
24. What is your character’s most important possession? Why?
He still has his signet ring from when he fled his Mother. Not even he knows just how much that it means to him. It’s intensely sentimental to him as the only physical possession he has left of that era of his life. Someone stole it from him while he was living in London and he made quite the mess of them to get it back.
25. Do they find that they care what others think of them? Or do they not really mind how others view them?
He flip flops wildly between caring intensely about what others think of him and not giving a singular shit. It depends on the crowd and his motivations. In general his preference is to have people to like him and see him as above them in some way.
26. What, in your character’s life, puts the most pressure on them?
The community he’s Prince of. He sees his role as being to protect them at the end of the day and sometimes that means doing things they don’t like. But doing things they dislike gets push back and push back de-legitimises his power as Prince.
27. What would be the worst way to die, in your character’s opinion?
How he almost died when I used him briefly as a PC. Disgraced. Looked down upon with no dignity by everyone around him in a city he’s unfamiliar with. Nobody. Nothing. The last of his city. A waste of the self sacrifice from those he loved. Crying, screaming desperately trying to claw his way out of capture at the hands of those that don’t know tossing him in a holding cell where light can get to him will kill him.
28. What is your character’s greatest strength?
In mun’s opinion, the fact that despite everything he’s been through and seen...the fact that he just keeps going.
29. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most?
Social manipulation so that combat is avoided in the first place. But, he’s always had a liking for firearms and actually quite likes using them. He dislikes fighting with his bare hands.
30. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe?
He feels most safe when either alone or the only people around him are those he has blood bonded. He feels deeply uncomfortable around kindred that are of a lower generation than him. With dominate as a main discipline he finds that not being able to resort to it suddenly makes all interactions with the person he’s interacting with very threatening.

10 facts about Shana and her mother Darika. Plus the full OC interview with each of them :)
Here they are! Shanna, the “Beauty” of my wlw Beauty and the Beast retelling (which still lacks a definitive title, though I intend it to include the word “rose”), and Darika, her mother.
Shanna 10 facts 1. She is 14 years old during the story’s prologue, 17 when the main plot starts, and 19 by the end.
2. My facecast for her is the late Israeli singer Ofra Haza (best known to some of us for providing the voice of Moses’s mother Yocheved in The Prince of Egypt) when she was very young.
3. She’s mixed race. Her mother’s ancestors were white pseudo-Europeans, while her father’s came from a Middle Eastern-inspired culture. Both practiced the same Judaism- and Shamanism-inspired religion, though. She’s her world’s equivalent of a Jewish person who’s half Ashkenazi, half Mizrahi.
4. Her name is partly a variant of the Yiddish “Shaina,” meaning “beautiful,” and partly an abbreviation of the Hebrew “Shoshanna,” meaning “lily” or, more significantly, “rose.” It has nothing to do with the Hebrew “shana,” meaning “year” – they’re just almost-homonyms.
5. Unlike most traditional Beauty and the Beast Beauties, she’s the eldest of three sisters, not the youngest. Her two sisters aren’t wicked, but they are a bit of a handful because they’re so young, and she’s had to be their responsible caretaker. She plays that role well – her little sister Zuri sooner calls for her than for their mother when she needs help – but it’s kept her from fully exploring her own potential, which she finally does get to explore during her time with Liriel, the lady beast.
6. Her personality is very much like Disney’s original animated Belle: bookish, sweet, emotional, full of dreams, yet intelligent and strong willed too. She’s more socially awkward than Belle, though, and unfortunately, she also has the self-doubt of Robin McKinley or Megan Kearney’s Beauties. Unlike Belle, she’s internalized the idea that she’s odd and oversensitive, so she tries to act like a “normal” down-to-earth villager, until the year she spends with Liriel makes her realize her worth just as she is.
7. She’s an aspiring author and poet. At age 13, before her family fell into poverty, she wrote a play based on the popular story of the heroine Lady Yasfira, portraying her as more flawed and dynamic than in most retellings, giving more sympathy than usual to the “evil” queen who opposed her, and portraying them as having once been friends. (Think either The Prince of Egypt or Wicked, or both.) The play was never performed at the time, but years later, with Liriel’s encouragement, she fine-tunes it, and then they perform it together for Liriel’s animal servants – this plays an important role in their growing feelings for each other.
8. She rarely lets herself get angry, but when she does, she can verbally annihilate you.
9. She realized she was bisexual at age 11 when, after her first crush on a boy at her school ended, she developed a new crush on a girl. She probably realized this more quickly than most real-world bi girls do, because the setting, Zalina Island, has no homophobia. She never acted on her crushes, but only out of shyness, not because she saw anything wrong with liking girls.
10. Despite her gentle personality, she’s not especially femme: she’s more soft butch, or maybe futch. She dislikes dresses (fortunately, Zalina Island has no taboo against women in pants) and generally wears just one or two feminine articles, like a shawl or earrings, with otherwise boyish clothing.
Interview (as she would answer it around the middle of the story)
What did you want to be, when you were a kid? There were so many things I wanted to be at different times. A queen, a princess, a duchess, a prophet, a traveling bard, an actress, a shepherdess, a farmer, a lady knight, a prime minister, a priestess, an acrobat, a cook, a kitchen maid, a dressmaker like my mother, a merchant like my father, a doctor, a midwife, a goldsmith, a fairy… and eventually, I realized that the one way to be all those things was to be a writer.
When did you know you wanted to be a writer? As soon as I was old enough to realize that stories didn’t come out of thin air, but where written by people. I wanted to do it as soon as I knew I could.
Who inspires you? My mother, my father, and a wide array of fictional heroes and heroines.
If you got to choose, where would you like to live? With whom? I’d love to live in a castle. I try not to care where I live as long as my family is with me, but my dreams of living in some splendid beautiful place never seem to die. I wouldn’t want it unless my family was there too, though.
Which item would you never give away? My journal, where I write down my secret thoughts, poems and stories.
Tell us about the biggest mistake you made in your life. Until recently, I might have cited the time I forgot to write an important history essay for school because I got lost in writing my play Yasfira and Anefri. Or else the time I lost my temper with my three-year-old sister Zuri and hurt her feelings so badly that she ran away and was missing for over an hour. But now, there’s no doubt that my worst mistake was asking Mama to bring me back a unique flower if she could find one on her trip to the city. Who would have thought a flower would cost so much?
Did you ever fear for your life? Yes, the moment when I saw Lady Liriel for the first time, after I followed Mama back to her lair – half wolf, half dragon, and entirely terrifying – and even more so, when she sniffed the air and I knew she smelled me hiding there.
There’s people who say you’re strange. Do you have any comment on this? I’m afraid it’s true. So often my imagination feels more real than the real world, my mind flies off to places that no one else believes exist, my emotions swell and crash like tidal waves no matter how much I try to swallow them and put logic first, I’ve always asked too many questions, and I feel less alone with only my books, paper and pen than I do in crowds of people.
Tell us something about you that nobody knows. Well, not many people know how strange I am anymore. I’ve learned to copy Mama and pretend to be as sensible and down-to-earth as she and our neighbors are, instead of spewing my feelings and dreams the way I used to. If the villagers knew about my romantic fantasies or the stories and poems I write in my head, they would laugh or scold even more than the people in the city did when I was small.
What would make a perfect day for you? A few hours spent reading, a few spent writing, and maybe a trip to the theatre in the evening, with people who understand me and let me feel free to be myself.
Darika 10 Facts 1. She takes on the father’s traditional role in the Beauty and the Beast story. Her husband was a merchant, but he died in the same shipwreck that destroyed his merchandise and left the family impoverished. But a few years later, she learns that one of his ships survived after all, has to travel to reclaim its cargo, but gets lost in a forest… and we all know the rest. Recent BatB retellings have put a lot of effort into answering the question “What happened to Beauty/Belle’s mother?” in interesting and poignant ways. To be different, I thought “Why not make her mother the living parent?”
2. My facecast for her is the New York City Criminal Court judge Rachel “Ruchie” Freier. Not that I know much about Judge Freier, but her face look right for the character.
3. At the beginning of the story, she’s 35 years old. By the end, she’s 40.
4. She was born in a small, poor village at the base of the White Pine Mountains. Her parents died when she was a baby, so she was raised by her grandfather and her older sister, who have since died too.
5. She worked as a seamstress in the village until she met and fell in love with a wealthy young traveling merchant from an elite port city. Despite the disapproval of his social circle, they married. After his death, she took their daughters back to her home village to start a new life.
6. Her impoverished upbringing and family tragedies have toughened her. She takes a very practical, hardworking, no-nonsense approach to life, tries to teach her daughters to do the same, and is calm and resolute in the face of hardship, focusing on “What are we going to do about it?” She sometimes loses patience with her daughter Shanna’s dreaminess and sensitivity, which makes Shanna, who adores and idolizes her, feel inadequate and weak.
7. Inside, though, she feels just as deeply and intensely as Shanna does. Her love for her family is limitless and she’s actually very dependent on Shanna, who fills the role of the family’s nurturing caregiver more than Darika’s temperament lets her do.
8. One thing she and Shanna have in common, which Shanna learned from her, is strong integrity and deep compassion for others. For her, the best part of being rich was all the good she could do for the poor, while the hardest part of becoming poor again was having so little to give to those even poorer.
9. Her sewing is more than just her job – it’s an art. She embroiders the clothes and quilts she makes with all kinds of colors and unique designs. The vibrant images she creates are an outlet for the emotions she doesn’t express.
10. Her personality is inspired by assorted beloved literary heroines, both classic (Jane Eyre, Elinor Dashwood) and modern (Tamora Pierce’s lady knight Keladry of Mindalen). For all their differences, and though they’re much younger than Darika, all these heroines are quiet, practical, dignified, staunch in their integrity, deeply caring and passionate on the inside, and yet with masks of stoic self-control that they only drop when intensely provoked. I like those heroines and admire them, yet sometimes their popular role model status annoys me, because it’s hard for a highly sensitive, naturally effusive person to act like them. So Darika pays tribute to them, but the story will also emphasize that her daughters don’t need to be like her.
Interview (as she would answer it around the middle of the story) What did you want to be, when you were a kid? A forest sprite or a good witch. I had a wild imagination in those days, before the real world tamed it.
When did you know you wanted to be a seamstress? When I first learned that the flowers and birds on my childhood quilt hadn’t sprouted there by themselves, but were embroidered by my mother, and that the storytelling tapestries that hung on the village temple walls were sewn by other villagers in the same way. I wanted to create beauty like they had, and to tell stories through pictures, while at the same time creating useful things for others: clothes, blankets, handkerchiefs, etc. I think I willed my own talent for sewing into being to do just that.
Who inspires you? My older sister Shanna; the namesake of my daughter. We lost our mother very young, so she took on the role of mother for me, and every day her love and strength have inspired me as I’ve raised my own children.
If you got to choose, where would you like to live? With whom? I would live in a clean, elegant, comfortable house with my daughters, a servant or two, and my husband, if only I could bring him back.
Which item would you never give away? My wedding ring.
Tell us about the biggest mistake you made in your life. Three of them, one directly after the other. First, when I was lost in the Great Forest during a storm, I took shelter in what I thought was an ordinary cave. Then, when I found that the inside looked like a castle, I should have turned and left; even then I knew that such an enchanted place would be dangerous. But I was cold, wet, and afraid I would die if I went back out into the storm, so I stayed. Last but not least, when I discovered the greenhouse garden in that castle-cave, I crept in and picked a rose as a gift for my daughter Shanna. Who would have dreamed a single flower would cost so much?
Did you ever fear for your life? I feared for my life when I was lost in the storm, but even more so when I came face to face with Lady Liriel. I’ll never forget the sight of her matted fur and vampire-bat fangs as she glared down at me.
There’s people who say you’re cold and stony. Do you have any comment on this? They don’t really know me.
Tell us something about you that nobody knows. Very few people fully know me, not even my daughters. I play the role of the calm, practical peasant woman, but it’s only skin-deep. Shanna thinks all her wild passions and romantic dreams came from her father, but really she inherited them from me too. My grandfather knew the secret me, and so did my sister, and my husband. But they’re all gone, and as I’ve buried each of them, I’ve buried those aspects of myself more deeply.
What would make a perfect day for you? A quiet day of embroidery by the fire at home, with my daughters all near me and all happy.

Before I attempt to sleep, here's another thought on the narrative I've been mulling over for a while.
When we learn about Dave's love for breadsticks, he mentions that it's a deep secret part of his characterisation; definitely not something just anyone would know about.
In the next line, the narrator confirms that this comment feels like the sort of irrelevant fact that would be brought up in a timeline that doesn't have a plot to follow.
In other words, Homestuck and its narrative only shows us the things that are wholly relevant to the story about the kids.
Dave has always loved breadsticks. This has always been part of who he is. However, knowing this fact was not important to the experience of reading Homestuck. In the bigger picture, breadsticks have never once been required as a presence in the entirety of Homestuck, and for as jokey and irrelevant as some of the gags in Homestuck can be, even it knows that it has to stop somewhere.
Not every aspect of a character can be relevant if you want a story to have an equal mix of meat and candy. When we're out of canon, however - when we're slipping into the territory of candy - we can see these things however much we want.
The focus shifts. These things have always been facts; Dave has always loved breadsticks. Finally, the camera pans to reveal this small nugget of information.
This was hidden from us because it wasn't relevant enough.
How much of these characters are hidden from us for the same reason?
Logically, every single character in Homestuck has these small likes. Every one has something mundane that they love, completely hidden away from view.
And not just Homestuck characters, either; every single character from every single text has these irrelevant things that we'll never know about unless the plot demands it, allows it, suggests it.
Pesterquest brings up a lot of questions about the narrative. I'll have to make a full post on it one day, but for now, just this:
On a light note, you could say any character likes any random thing, and we canonically have evidence that this could be true.
On a more serious note, we have to question what the narrative hides from us about these much loved characters; how much of who they are was obscured from view for the sake of the plot.
We also need to question if Hussie's trying to make a point here. Dave seems much more human to reveal that he loves something as simple as breadsticks. It's a very tiny thing, but that's what makes it work; because we realise, now, that the only thing that makes Dave a character is the way he's portrayed in the narrative.
In essence, he is presented as a living, breathing person. His shift into fiction is entirely based around the plot of the story and what of his life is depicted as relevant for us to know. His position as character hinges completely on the perception that he is just a cocktail of traits, flaws, likes and dislikes that merge together into a thematic being - when in truth, these are just the most relevant points of a complete person for us to know to make sense of the story being told.

Nvmind Im just going to make one post answering everything because my need to ramble is more than my need for direct interaction.
In general, though, what I like and dislike in vore can be summed up very quickly. I like soft, safe, nonsexual, willing vore. Kink stuff makes me really uncomfortable most of the time. I also really don’t like it when one half is puposful and the other is unwilling, and it’s just for fear/control because it feels like they’re forcing themself onto the other which makes me,,,, uncomfy.
🤔 - How did you find out about vore? When I was pretty young. I had been coming up with vore ideas, without knowing people had a word for it, since I was a very little kid, but then I saw this one story in Undertale with a cool-looking plot and this weird word called vore at the end of the summary. I still remember the chills I got when I read it. (Vore, funnily enough, was also the reason I finally got off Fanfiction and onto AO3...) 😋 - Favorite vore method? (Oral, absorption, etc.) Oral, hands down, but I also like a lot of other things that don’t really fit into vore so... Things be getting wild in the club tonight. 📷 - Do you prefer to be the predator, prey, or an observer? Hm. I feel like I lean most towards being the pred, but I love things from all three viewpoints, and I sometimes like to picture myself as prey or, more rarely, observer. 📚 - What types of themes do you enjoy in vore? Are you interested in encounters related to fantasy, science fiction, modern times, or something else? I love protection vore but without a doubt, my favorite thing about vore is the trust. I love things that explore people trusting each other, and there’s little else that could require so much trust. I really like it when the prey could hurt the pred as well, so it takes a lot of trust on both parts, as well as communication. In terms of setting,,, I really don’t care. Like them all. Have a tendency for modern day just because it’s what I know best, but I really like any setting. 🖌 - How do you prefer to create vore media (if you do)? Do you like to roleplay, draw, write stories, mix vore-related sounds into audio scenarios, or other ways? You mean it’s not just enough to make all vore scenarios as increasingly complex daydreams in my head?
Writing. Hands down. Only thing I have the focus plus skill to achieve the results my perfectionist self desires.
💻 - How do you consume (pun intended) vore media made by others? I’m... not sure what this means? I like reading most things. Comics and drawings are awesome too. I don’t listening to stuff half the time so I guess... ASMR? I also don’t like second person but that might be because it never seems to kit the tropes I like... 😐 - Any vore tropes you dislike? Well, second person it seems, but also fatal vore, almost all unwilling vore because it feels creepy, kink stuff about 98% of the time, there’s probably more because I’m Picky but I can’t think of it. This list also excludes like... A large amount of the total volume of vore so there is that.
Do you prefer…
🍴 - Soft or hard vore? Soft, but I actually love some hard vore if it’s safe/consensual/doesn’t involve permanent maiming. I only like soft vore a little more if they’re both all those things, but most hard vore,,,, isn’t any of them. ⚠️ - Safe or unsafe vore? Safe. Without question. There’s something I can really enjoy with the fear from a pred when they don’t think they prey is safe, but No Death Please. 🖍 - Realistic or unrealistic/cartoony vore? Realistic, because I can physics/biology nerd, but both are cool. :) 😧 - Willing or unwilling prey? So this can be a little tricky, but almost always willing. There’s a few unwilling prey I like, like when the pred genuinely has to and doesn’t have any other options to protect them... but the prey doesn’t know it’s safe, and the pred can’t explain. If I can’t really believe either of those things though... meh. Not my thing. 😯 - Willing or unwilling preds? Willing, but again a few exceptions. I do like certain times when a pred doesn’t mean to swallow and doesn’t know if it’s safe, because I like that deep, genuine fear with the comfort to me of no real threat. 🌃 - Same size or size difference? Either, both, it’s all cool. Not a fan of inflation kink stuff so I useally read g/t, but for actual vore I just,,, like it all. 🏃♂️ - Fast-paced scenes that cut straight to the chase or slow-paced scenes that observe details and/or have buildup? Not??? Sure?? what this means. I think the second one. I did write a vore fic that was 2.5k from tiny in mouth to tiny in stomach, and not much happened there except thinking about the fact that there is now a person in a mouth, and a very painful swallowing.
Your opinion on…
❗️- Digestion Don’t like fatal. 😇 - Reformation Well, it’s not fatal? ☠️ - Fatal vore Bad. 👅 - Mawplay/mouthplay Sure. Don’t really look for it but it’s fun. 🛌 - Endosoma Hnng yes please. 🌀 - Hypnosis in vore No? 🧪 - Transformation in vore Not sure... what this means. ?? 🥰 - Fluff in vore Yes please. 🍜 - Foodplay in vore Makes the clean freak in me freak out, but can actually be fun. 😱 - Fearplay in vore Only as a fun thing that both partys are cool with 🤯 - Turning the tables in vore Again... not sure.... what this means. ? ✏️ - Original characters in vore Sure! 📺 - Canon characters in vore Yes! Also. Who’s saying it’s not my story the vore is happening in?
Characters and Characteristics
📝 - Do you have any original characters specifically for vore? Yes, though I also use them for completely un-related non-vore stories, which would probably be the only way I would actually write them. 😛 - Any fictional character(s) that you imagine as prey? Would you eat them? Um. Yes. But I’m not going to list them. I’ve been in this too long to be willing to cop to all the fandoms I’ve vore-ifyed. If you want to know about a specific fandom I might answer? There’s also only one character I’ve ever pictured for prey as myself, 99% of the time I keep my real self completely out of stories I read. 😳 - Any fictional character(s) that you imagine as preds? Would you let them eat you? See above answer, and like, if I was vored by a fictional character, I’d want it to be that one. 🤤 - What are the characteristics (physical, personality, etc) you enjoy in preds? What do you dislike? N/A, really. 😙 - What are the characteristics (physical, personality, etc) you enjoy in prey? What do you dislike? Again, just N/A
#v.ore#ask game#not sure what to call this but#that really is just a sheet of text huh#i might talk too much...

Interview: Sorneth Caduceus
► Name ➔ He grinned. “Ser Sorneth Caduceus, Bard of renown, and teller of stories. ...Also a knight of Ishgard now apparently” he offered with a side ward slant of his eyes “bit of a funny tale that one.” ► Are you single ➔ He chuckled warmly, as a smile formed that not only curved along his lips but brought a fond narrowing of his eyes. “Not in the slightest. I’m the husband of Maxia Caduceus, and happily so. While we do have our problems sometimes, that’s simply the way of it. A relationship is like a garden, you tend it together, and you enjoy both the good times, and weather the bad side by side.” ► Are you happy ➔ He offered a nod. “Most of the time. I have many, many things around me that bring a smile to my face, and a warmth to my heart. While occasionally my mind does get the better of me, I’m fortunate that I can often find pleasant company to help ease me back into my usual, jovial self.” ► Are you angry? ➔ The bard falls silent for a moment, a frown pulling across his lips as the fingers of a gloved hand curl inwards towards his palm briefly. “Overall?” his tone flows gently upon smooth silver “No, I’m content and at peace. It’s merely specific subjects that are likely to light a fire in my blood. But they rarely if ever surface in normal conversation.” ► Are your parents still married ➔ This brought the man’s head to tilt, before giving a brief huff of a chuckle. “I don’t even know my parents, but I imagine they still are. Divorce is not an option where I come from, I’m... pretty sure the marriages are pre-arranged as well. Aids in the selective breeding.”
(Cut for Length)
EIGHT FACTS
► Birth Place ➔ The bard’s eyes closed gently... “A place far more ancient then you can fathom. My people have been around since the star was torn into fourteen pieces. Isolated and kept safe in a homeland so deep beneath the surface of our world, that not even the veins of corrupted aether from the fragments of Dalamund’s fall could reach or affect it. I -am- from the Shroud, just way more vertically down then most forest-born.” ► Hair Color ➔ He grinned, as a hand lifted to pinch one of his bangs within his fingertips. “Naturally this silver, even the white highlights mixed in.” ► Eye Color ➔ His head tilted, offering a better view of his eyes as the moon-white iris’ seemed to glow against the dark grey backdrop. “Moon white, I was told this is the result of those born beneath a Full Moon, on the Winter Solstice. The night influenced me, and thus my eyes reflect my connection to the sunless sea. It’s a rare trait among my people, near to the point of prophecy.” He shrugged “If there is one about me, I don’t know it. I simply am who I am.” ► Birthday ➔ He frowned gently.. “Aside from having been born on the Winter Solstice? Well, that’s if the stories of my eyes are true. Honestly I... actually have no idea. I use the solstice to track my years, when it passes, I consider myself a year older.” ► Mood ➔ He grinned again, this time with one that even narrowed his eyes with mirth. “Playful, flirtatious, good humored, affectionate, creative, modest, honest, loyal, kind, generous. Depends on the day, depends on the time, depends on the company. But generally I’m told that I can be quite a darling, and that I’m pleasant to be around, and easy to get along with.” His smile softened to one of nearly being bashful as he lowered his head and scratched at his cheek. “I just try and give people a reason to smile, there’s enough in the world to feel horrible about. Bard’s are meant to lift people up, after all.” ►Gender ➔ He offered a rich, deep laugh as his arms flowed out from his sides with upturned palms. “Male, obviously. Though... if you want to open up my pants just to make sure, your welcome to...” he offered a wink. “I’m like a museum, can look as much as you want - just don’t touch anything.” ► Summer or winter ➔ “Winter” he stated without a breath of hesitation “I hate the heat, and enjoy the snow, cold, and peacefulness that comes with the season. While game can be a bit more difficult to hunt, I still prefer it over the thick of summer any day.” ► Morning or afternoon ➔ His smile sweetened. “Morning, very early morning just after midnight. That’s usually when my day usually begins, and I can still drink in the starlit skies as I go about my training routines. It’s quiet, tranquil, few people bother me, and I can lose myself to the routines as if they were meditation.” He sighed out blissfully... “It also lets me finish, come back to the house, and start on breakfast right as my beloved starts rolling themselves out of bed.”
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE
► Are you in love ➔ His smile grew fond, eyes closing to a gentle, reflective half lid as a soft sigh of contentment parted his lips. “I am fully, and without a doubt in my heart.” The words flowed with a steeled resolve, and an embers warmth as his hand lifted to run the pad of his thumb along the wedding band on his finger. “He is my guiding stars, my strength, my resolve, my present and future. My beloved has claimed me utterly, mind, heart, and soul. Even when were apart, my thoughts drift to him effortlessly, my muse behind everything that I do.” ► Do you believe in love at first sight ➔ The bard’s head tilted, only to tilt again in the other direction before his shoulder’s bobbed in a gentle shrug. “Yes and No. I believe that for some, those who have lived before, there is the chance for a re-kindled connection upon first crossing paths with the one who loved you before. A recognition of their soul, just as they recognize yours in kind. But that.. is merely remembrance.” He lifted a hand to tap two fingers over his heart. “Love, is something you fall into all over again - even with such a destined lover. You grow to know them as they are in this life, finding a fondness for them all over from the beginning. A connection is at first sight, love... grows after.” ► Who ended your last relationship ➔ The frown that flowed over the man’s lips was near a sneered grimace. “...The Ishgardians, their ‘inquisitors’ in fact. They arrested my last lover for writing ‘unhalonic’ texts and distributing his fiction to the general public.” He sighed out softly... “They held him for a long time, over a year, and by the time he was released... I had already left Ishgard and had resumed my way of life long before. If they had not, I likely would have stayed, likely continued to grow what we had between us. ...We were close.” ► Have you ever broken someone’s heart ➔ The bard’s head was swift to shake. “No. Never. It’s why I’m always as clear in my communication as I am, honest, genuine, sincere. Unlike most bards, I don’t desire to eat hearts where I go and leave them shattered within my wake. I... have far too much respect for people to do that.” ► Are you afraid of commitments ➔ The bard grinned, and merely lifted up his hand to show the Ishgardian Steel wedding band shaped like a dragon that circled his ring finger like an Oroboros. “...Does this answer your question?” ► Have you hugged someone within the last week? ➔ He chuckled warmly as a wolfish grin settled over his features. “Of course! My hand’s can’t keep themselves off of my beloved, for one. For two, my friends are used to that being simply how I greet them.” ► Have you ever had a secret admirer ➔ He offered a sharp, loud, huff of a laugh. “I wish, if only for the experience...” he smirked “If I have one, their so secret even I don’t know about them.” ► Have you ever broken your own heart? ➔ The bard winced, before offering a soft frown as his eyes closed with a side ward flick of his gaze. “...Many times. To spare others pain, hardship, complications, or torment I have had to walk away when I’d rather I not have to on many occasions. It’s how I’ve managed to avoid breaking the hearts of others, my own takes the blow on their behalf, many I imagine aren't even aware of it.”
SIX CHOICES
► Love or lust ➔ The bard huffed out his breath with a shake of his head... “Come now, you can’t possibly make me choose between those?” he arched a brow, only to frown when the question was indeed serious. “Stars, for me you can’t have one without the other. I don’t have sex with people, just to have sex with people. I have to be fond of them to some degree, otherwise it’s just using another person for your own pleasure, which is something I can’t stomach.” His shoulder’s shrugged “When I’m in love? My love is both emotional and physical. If I can’t explore my beloveds likes, dislikes, passions, and build a dynamic with them. If I can’t set my blood on fire and show them how I feel in the most intimate manner known to mortal kind. What then, separates our bond from just having a very deep, platonic friendship?” His head shook, and a palm lifted with a shake as well. “Not for me, my beloved better accept that I’ll be an outright horn dog for them, and realize that it’s because of the fact I love them so much.” ► Lemonade or iced tea ➔ He grinned. “Tea, without contest. Specially when sweetened with honey, or fruit juice mixed in with it.’ ► Cats or Dogs ➔ “Dogs” the wight didn’t even hesitate, though after a moment of thought he did quirk a brow. “..Unless you mean cat men and women, in that case I’ll heavily consider changing my opinion.” ► A few best friends or many regular friends ➔ The bard smirked a smile, fond and sweet. “Few best friends. As a bard acquaintances and regular connections are helpful, and do well to ease the quiet and loneliness at times. But they are infrequent, and prone to falling out of contact on that individuals whim. Such is why I prefer a few close, stable, consistent people in which to invest myself and a bond with.” ► Wild night out or romantic night in ➔ “Romantic Night In” the words came with a sharp, swift fondness as a smile curled into place along his lips. Even his hands lifted, flowing as he continued... “A candlelit bath, incense scenting the air, two glasses of blush wine laced with just a small hint of clove oil to spark the desire. Worshiping your beloveds skin with the fond caress of fingertips, and the reverent kiss of lips. Exploring them, making their breath catch within their throat, and their heart quicken. A romantic sensuality...” ► Day or night ➔ “Night” he said plainly and with a swiftness. “The Sunless sea is the home of the celestials, my deities. To be beneath it is to be as if within a church, and thus I do most if not all of my activities of import beneath a starlit sky. Cloaked in their blessed shadows, and illuminated by moonlight. To have something of importance happen in the suns light is to welcome ruin to it. Or so my people have long believed.”
FOUR HAVE YOU EVERS
► Been caught sneaking out ➔ “Not yet, though I think my beloved’s senses are slowly becoming keener to my methods. For now however, they seem to only notice my absence after a few hours have passed, and I’ve yet to be caught in the act.” The bard then reached up a hand, and promptly knocked on the wooden part of the wall behind him. ► Fallen down/up the stairs ➔ “Unfortunately...” the sigh that left his lips was a heavy one as his eyes rolled. “Take it as advice, or wisdom. But do not get drunk within the forgotten knight and then attempt to navigate the pillars of Ishgard while intoxicated. It does not end well for you, or the unfortunate parties having to tend to you afterwards.” ► Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? ➔ “To want for something unobtainable, is simply an excuse to use it as motivation towards a means to obtain it. But when that want is for a person?” he sighed softly... “That is a pain not so easily twisted into optimism. Nor does acceptance come easy, or quickly.” ► Wanted to disappear ➔ The bard offered a chuckle. “I have, and succeeded. That is all I will offer on the matter, as I would very much desire to keep it that way.”
FOUR PREFERENCES
► Smile or eyes ➔ The bard’s hand lifted, before pointing two fingers to his moon-white orbs. “Eyes” he stated firmly “For some, a smile has become impossible to form as they’ve long forgotten how over the duration of their suffering. But if you look into their eyes, you can see even in the depths of their pain, their fighting against the inner demons, the shimmer of warmth that tells of the difference you’ve just made. No matter how brief.” ► Shorter or Taller ➔ He grinned. “Shorter, there is a lot I can do romantically with someone smaller then me. From sweeping them off their feet, to curling up around them in bed. Besides, it’s hard to find people taller then me, and of those that do - generally were more for sparring outside of the bedroom then in one.” ► Intelligence or Attraction ➔ “Intelligence” he offered swiftness and a smile. “A pretty face is pleasant, but a sharp mind is what I thrive on most. The trading of sass, wit, sarcasm, humor, and being able to collaborate with another over my creative ideas are things I cherish.” He then offered a rich, deep laugh. “I often say, the fastest way to get me to fall in love with you, is to roast me so well that I’m left with the only option of laying in the grave you made me dig for myself without even realizing it.” ► Hook-up or Relationship ➔ The bard offers a firm nod. “Relationship. While hook-ups are fun, for a while, they loose their luster easily enough and leave the heart wanting more. Thus, is why I invest my time into my relationships with others, be they romantic or platonic. It’s these meaningful connections, nurturing them, growing them, developing them, that bring me the most fulfillment.”
FAMILY
► Do you and your family get along ➔ The bard offered a thick, sarcastic laugh. “I was separated from my parents as soon as I was old enough to pick up a wooden sword, as is custom. The only brothers I’ve ever known, are my fellow hunters and we... Well, we get along like brothers. If were not drinking together, were fighting one another either to settle an argument, or out of sheer pleasure and enjoyment. So I shall leave that up to your interpretation.” ► Would you say you have a “messed up life” ➔ His head shook gently. “No. While some who hear my story, and are privy to the more guarded details, may surely think so. I never once considered myself of having been subjected to a ‘tragic backstory’. My life is what it is, and had to be what it was, for me to become what I have.” He shrugged. “My life is what it needed to be, to be what it is, and will become.” ► Have you ever ran away from home ➔ His head shook again. “No, never. I’ve been loyal to the end, and left home only when there was no one else there to linger around for.” ► Have you ever gotten kicked out ➔ His shoulder’s bobbed with a deep, rich chuckle. “I was... voluntarily exiled” he stated slowly, and with keen purpose. “When we become hunters, we are condemned to live out the rest of our lives on the surface, fulfilling our duties until the day the Monsters we hunt succeed in killing us.”
FRIENDS
► Do you secretly hate one of your friends ➔ “Stars no!” the answer came swiftly, and with a turn of the bard’s head in worry. “I have so few of them, and new ones don’t just grow on bushes in the middle of the forest. I’m an honest person, if I have a problem with someone, I tell them so. Now... if that results in me being punched in the face for it or not, is another matter.” ► Do you consider all of your friends good friends ➔ The bard’s head shook lightly. “I have two good friends, the rest are... barely more then acquaintances. While I would desire more, that is not up to me but rather others to decide if they wish to get to know me or not. But I can see how a white eyes, silver haired, silver tongued Wight can be intimidating.” ► Who is your best friend ➔ “Honestly?” he sighed softly, and his head sank into his hand with a rubbing of his fingertips against his temples. “...My horse. I tell them everything I do when not with them, and they witness everything I do when within their company.” ► Who knows everything about you ➔ “My horse, for reasons previously stated..”

MUN QUESTIONS. Q1 : if you could write your character your way in their own movie , what would it be called , what style would it be filmed in , and what would it be about ? A1 : honestly??? i think i would keep it the way it is, BUT i would like to have seen some more canonical information about galo’s family. as of right now, we know that kray saved him after his family was attacked by the burnish. if i were to direct a new movie about galo, i would focus it mainly on his family. Q2 : what would their soundtrack / score sound like ? A2 : i think it would be a mix of melancholic music as well as more upbeat stuff. on my blog’s main page there are links in the sidebar to both a soundtrack playlist as well as a pop music playlist; i definitely think it’s fair that a variety of genres would suit him and his experiences. Q3 : why did you start writing this character ? A3 : when i first watched promare, i was instantly drawn to this buffoon himbo. i’ve always had a thing for upbeat, energetic characters who are also quite caring and a bit dumb (which yes galo is very smart but he has his moments). while their personalities differ greatly (despite having the same personality type), he reminds me a lot of lance from vld, who i absolutely adore as well (and i also rp him too oops) Q4 : what first attracted you to this character ? A4 : again, probably his personality. while i’m not as energetic and upbeat as galo and i have a very, very different personality type than him, i feel like i definitely do understand him. i understand why he feels he needs to be overly confident, and i also have my moments where i just need to storm off and be alone. god i could write paragraphs and paragraphs about why i like galo but i wanna keep it short and sweet and just stick with those two points, which i consider to be the biggest points. Q5 : describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse. A5 : look, i know i said i liked confidence, but something about galo that annoys me is the fact that he can often seem too confident. like yeah he seemed pretty humble in that pizza scene at the beginning of the movie, but i can’t help but feel a twinge of annoyance towards people who put themselves right into the center of attention and be all like “yeah i know i’m great.” like my boy i love you but do u have to announce urself every time u appear on the scene??? and pls stop being so reckless u honestly might die too soon one of these days we want u to be around for us to enjoy u Q6 : what do you have in common with your muse ? A6 : i definitely feel like we both have our moments where we just need some peace and quiet. of course, everyone needs this, but when galo talked about running off when he was pissed reminded me of me; i tend to go and cool off and vent to myself if i’m annoyed about something. we’re both naturally people-oriented and love to be around others, even though galo likes being the center of attention a little bit more than myself. Q7 : how does your muse feel about you ? A7 : in the sense that if galo were real, i honestly think we would get along fairly well. we have different ways of dealing with things, but we have similar habits and personality traits. however when it comes to rp blogs, while i do like to headcanon things about my muses that mirror my own opinions and beliefs, i do consider the mun/muse relationship fairly symbiotic. we as real people can learn so much from fictional characters and in how we play them, and of course, the mun will determine some things about the muse that will deter from canon. Q8 : what characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ? A8 : i just started this blog and have had very minimal interactions, so it’s hard to say ! i’d say that an interaction with a kray muse would be the most interesting. part of me wants galo to forgive kray and to have a better relationship with him post-movie canon, but there’s still so much about galo and kray’s relationship pre-movie as well; what was their relationship like? was kray like a father to galo? how can i describe the psychological mindset that galo had after finding out that kray betrayed him? there’s so much about these two that i really want to discover and look at, while of course providing my own insight (cuz that’s what muns do, right?). Q9 : what gives you inspiration to write your muse ? A9 : i like to study galo’s actions in the movie, and try to find the underlying cause of the actions he takes. however, when it comes to headcanons, i will often think of a scene or an idea in my head and then internally apply it to galo and see if it works. this is usually what kindles my writing fire: the thoughts that often rush through my head. Q10 : how long did this take you to complete ? A10 : like two whole days lmao im so slow

Spider-Man: Life Story #4 Thoughts Part 1: Doc Ock Disservice
In retrospect issue #1 of this series was a mixed bag, issue #2 was bad, issue #3 was hot trash and now issue #4 is...
Well...it depends.
See I usually try my best to write these basically as soon as I’ve read an issue. However a trip to my LCS and back is at least a 2 hour round trip and I had to head into work practically immediately after getting back. Consequently I’m writing this several hours later than I would have liked.
My initial gut feeling during and immediately after reading the issue was that this was a mixed bag. But ruminating on it more it’s gone down yet further in my eyes.
Maybe I’m not diving deep enough into it but my gut feelings on this (which is what these posts are, they’re not reviews where I try to be more actively analytical rather than ‘free style’ it) it’s...not AS bad as prior issues; issue #3 being the absolute nadir thus far.
Perhaps that is due to now knowing how messed up this series is I knew what I was getting into and what to expect thus I was less aghast by what I saw. Perhaps it was the fact that this issue, unlike issue #3, didn’t slap my intelligence in the face with asinine historical politics and the most aggressively stupid attempt to homage my fav Spidey tale, KLH.
However some of my...I don’t know the right term...my feeling less disdainfulness, towards this issue might stem from Peter’s age.
See when you do the math canon Peter Parker’s lifespan can be viewed as encompassing the amount of time covered in issues #1-3, that is to say ages 15-mid 30s. Thus there was a certain degree of precedence involved, a certain roadmap for us to compare LF Peter to.
But in this issue Peter is around 48 years old. This is well beyond the age of canon Peter Parker and only AU versions of the character have ever approached that age and being AUs they aren’t great sources for comparison. The closest thing we have is MC2 Peter Parker who was in his early 40s and different in his attitude and outlook to LF Peter. However that could be due to being younger, having his family and being retired for 10+ years thus making him more positive towards the prospect of being Spider-Man.
LF Peter is fed up, tired and wants to stop being Spider-Man. Any of the old enjoyment he ever derived from it is long gone. As is apparently his desire to remain ‘relevent’. Guess he got over that early mid-life crisis he went through in issue #3. You know that mid-life crisis that led to him using an alien performance enhancer that was allegedly addictive.
Actually more than a few of this issue’s problems can be owed to older issues, and specifically issue #3.
First of all...so America is still around. Um...yeah wasn’t there a war with Russia happening last issue? Wasn’t there a nuclear arms race that was hotter than the Cold War ever was in real life?
I suppose given how utterly unrealistic it was that Russia nuked an American town and then nuclear Armageddon didn’t ensue in issue #3, this issue is consistent in it’s boneheaded lack of realism.
And it does offer an explanation. Tony Stark’s weapons ended the war.
...Okay...we need to talk about this again and this time I’m going to spell it out.
So there has been no end of speculative fiction presenting stories revolving around a world where historical events happened differently.
A common example, embodied by the acclaimed show Man in the High Castle, is ‘What if the Axis powers won WWII’.
Life Story has at various turns presented real life historical events but injected superheroes in them whilst also showing them playing out differently.
Iron Man, Giant Man and Captain America went to Vietnam.
Captain America went rogue in Vietnam.
The Vietnam War lasted longer than in real life history.
Russia launched nukes at the USA and destroyed a town resulting in a super hero invasion on Russia and open warfare.
Said war was won by America apparently thanks to Tony Stark’s weapons.
Do you know the difference between Life Story and Man in the High Castle, or indeed most speculative fiction?
It actually explains what happened!
In Man in the High Castle we learn various pieces of the alternate history, among them being that the Axis powers developed atomic weapons before the Allies and nuked Washington DC, eventually winning the war and dividing America between the Third Riech and the Empire of Japan.
In Life Story we find out the Vietnam War lasted longer. Somehow.
In Life Story we find out Tony Stark’s weapons won the war with Russia. Somehow.
WHAT HAPPENED!
At best this is a pointless tease, it’s like sidestory world building. What’s the point of bringing the fact that this world’s history is drastically different but not bothering to elaborate on it at all.
Tony’s weapons won the war. What weapons? How did they win? Give us some details for God’s sake.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the story isn’t about the Russian war or the alternate international politics, it’s about Spider-Man. But then...why the fuck is it in the story?
Shit dude, redraft Life Story a little bit and you could more or less exorcise ALL the stuff about international political conflicts and lose nothing. In the case of Kraven’s motivations last issue it’d be an improvement!
Look maybe I’ve got a bug up my butt about this more than most people because I studied history at university, but even putting that aside...it just feels superfluous to this story.
What gets me is that it’s veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery good money the only reason this shit is in the story is to evoke Watchmen (which ‘coincidenally’ is being revisted in Doomsday Clock by DC right now) which was also an example of speculative historical fiction involving superheroes. Which also explained what happened!
Superheroes existed. So they intervened in Vietnam. And they won because of their overwhelming power.
In Life Story we don’t even know who won the Vietnam War or even if it’s over yet!
Moving on a little, so Tony Stark and Peter are at logger heads. Now I dislike Spider-Man’s involvement with Iron Man in recent years but I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand seeing Iron Man not be Peter’s mentor is lovely, but I wonder if Zdarsky was banking on audience familiarity with that dynamic from the films to create a shock moment by portraying a relationship between both men so at odds with what you see in Homecoming.
That wasn’t my first thought though. My first thought was Zdarsky is trading off of the Peter/Tony relationship from JMS’ run...which had nothing to do with the 1990s at all; we’ll talk more about that in a minute.
Finally, not content to write Peter out of character, Zdarsky apparently wanted to write Tony out of character too.
I am no Iron Man expert but by the 1990s...hadn’t he kinda sorta stopped making weapons!
I could forgive it in the older issues because Tony apparently didn’t get out of the arms business in the comics immediately like in the films, so it wasn’t inaccurate to the time periods. But I’m 90% sure he had stopped making weapons by the 1990s. Tell me if I’m wrong please, but if I am not....holy shit what is Zdarsky doing? How does aging in real time = Iron Man would still be a war profiteer?
Let’s leave Stark and the real life history alone and get into the real meat of this story.
Okay so we have Ben Reil-
Wait what?
*re-reads Life Story #4*
...there is something off with this...
*checks Life Story #2*
...um...Life Story #2 clearly states that Peter and Gwen’s clones took on the names Helen and Ben PARKER not REILLY!
Now Reilly makes a lot more sense from both a practical point of view (a guy who looks like Peter Parker with his last name raises questions) and from a referencing canon POV.
But what the fuck is up with the inconsistency?
Who was asleep at the wheel for that one! Oh...but it won’t be the only inconsistency by the way.
So Ben Reilly (who looks more like Ben Urich) is a photogra-
Wait, wait, wait. What again?
Ben Reilly is a...photographer?
...WHY??????????????????????
Look...Peter does have a certain passion for photojournalism, but he prefers science.
Ben Reilly in canon never even considered photography as a job to my recollection. He worked as a lab assistant, a barrista, a bouncer/body guard, a teacher but never a photographer even though that would’ve been an obvious profession to consider.
When Peter began working that job it was a way for him to earn the money he desperately needed to provide for himself and Aunt May whilst also not having his time eaten up with a 9-5.
Sure Ben is also a superhero (the Red Mask...I hope he didn’t dream that up himself...in the middle of a Cold War...) in this universe, but what is motivating him to do that? He’s got science smarts, he has legal documentation from issue #2 allowing him to hold jobs. Why would he not go into a field he both prefers and one that you’d think in a world where there was a war raging with intangible nukes would be of greater use?
I can think of some No. Prize explanations...but that’s the problem.
I have to think of those explanations. The story, like so much else in this shitty series, doesn’t elaborate.
This goes beyond the characters being different for the sake of being different from canon.
Ben Reilly is doing something that demands an explanation within the context of this series’ unique continuity as established. It’s not even a matter of established characterization based on canon, it’s a matter of established characterization based upon the last 3 goddam issues.
This lack of thought equally applies to our main villain of the issue, Doctor Octopus.
So in issue #2/1977 Doc Ock had reformed because of a heart attack and all that good tender luvin care he got from a woman at least 20 years his senior; Zdarsky does know most people enjoy the May/Otto relationship ironically right, nobody actually thinks it makes sense or was a good idea, but no here it’s the crux of his whole character.
In issue #3/1984 he was...clearly a villain again because he’s obviously attacking Spider-Man in the double page spread depicting Secret Wars.
In issue #4/1995 we learn that Otto was at May’s funeral and this was the last time Peter saw him. Also according to Peter May left Otto long before she died and that was when he just disappeared, Peter presuming he retired in Florida.
So going by issue #4 alone we have something of a contradiction. If Otto disappeared long before May’s death...how could the last time Peter have seen him been at her funeral.
Maybe that’s just phrased a little badly and I’m nitpicking. Fair enough.
What isn’t fair enough though is either Zdarsky isn’t paying attention to his own writing, Bagley and he are not communicating properly or the editor is severely dropping the ball.
May and Otto were clearly NOT together in issue #3 when Otto was also clearly a villain and Peter clearly was aware of this because Otto was attacking him.
Which means Otto must’ve disappeared before then which means Peter would’ve known he hadn’t retired, he’d returned to villainy.
Now a point of praise, Otto blaming Peter for May leaving him, I think that rings true to Otto’s character, let alone an old aging Otto. This is the guy who often saw what he wanted to see, who infamously once wanted to nuke NYC to prove how he wasn’t to be taken lightly even though it’d also kill him too.
Too bad that point of praise is drowned out by his plan in this story which is all wrapped up in the clones.
Okay, okay, Doc Ock had a important role to play in the 1990s Clone Saga so what’s the problem?
The problem is that...I heavily suspect this isn’t riffing on the 1990s Clone Saga.
I think it’s much more likely that it’s riffing on the Ultimate Clone Saga in which Doc Ock was the mastermind behind the clones; coincidentally Bagley drew all three of the Ock Clone Saga tales which is a nice piece of historical symmetry.
Why...is....Zdarsky....riffing....on....a...Ultimate....Universe....story....?????????????????...from the 2000s!!!!!!!!
And in case the jury doesn’t accept that criticism here is another one. Otto feels he’s dying without accomplishing anything.
Um...wasn’t he working with Reed Richards in issue #2?
Otto working legitimately with a big brain like Reed surely would’ve in like 10 years accomplished SOMETHING! He invented so much crazy tech he really didn’t patent any of it, release it to the public?
Couldn’t his arms alone do wonders for disabled people?
I know this is comics so you should suspend disbelief because if you don’t you have to ask why fossil fuels even still exist.
But that’s the problem with this series.
It wants to have it’s cake and eat it.
It wants to show superheroes having a world changing impact on the world as they realistically would...but not go all the way with it.
It wants to have superheroes go to Vietnam and Russia have and use super powered people and intangible nukes but it also wants to ignore the obvious ramifications when it’s inconvenient.
This gets even stupider when you contextualize it within wider Spider-Man media. In the recent, heavily publicized Spidey PS4 video game (that Marvel is adapting as a comic book right now) Doc Ock creates his arms specifically to help disabled people and uses them because he himself is losing control of his motor functions. And in Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon (for 5 year olds) Doc Ock is disabled from the outset and entirely relies on his arms to move around.
So why the fuck did Otto at no point consider using that tech to help the disabled and thereby accomplish something in his life. It’s an obvious idea Reed, Peter or even May must’ve suggested. It probably could’ve helped someone as frail and infirm as May specifically.
We’re also told May left Otto due to his anger. Great use of telling not showing there Zdarsky. Remember how angry Otto seemed in his one other speaking appearance before now?
