BONES AND ALL SPOILERY post.

I still dont get (1) why the old dude doesnt attack her when she's by herself (while lee and her are split up) specially given his track record of eating dead people only. He is risk-averse. (2) why the two young cannibals cdnt take on an older dude when they regularly take on young, live prey. (3) why Luca added an injury to Lee's storyline. Lee & Maren's story shouldve ended with decisions that were taken calmly. That way it wd hv been devastating to see her eat him and then the movie ending with her being sad & all alone. As it stands the last scene in the movie is a bandaid that doesnt stop the movie from bleeding out.

#bones and all #luca did not do justice to maren's character & he knows that which is why he brings back Lee to the last scene #i wd very much like to see a recut version where taylor russell gets framed as the main character properly #my criticism of this film is the same as all of Luca's films - show me more conversations more of the character interactions #his films work coz he casts phenomenal actors who convey stuff without dialogues- his films are all about an atmosphere rather than a story #in A Big Splash tilda's character is meant to be resting her voice & cant talk so i think luca is all about the vibe #i just dont think Maren was given enuf screentimetime or lines to get us to like her #i also hate her haircut &think a cannibal like her wd hv a more mainstream 80s haircut coz she wants to blend in & coz they relocate a lot #lee's hair is a look-at-me thing and goes with his persona #i also dont think the camerawork at the diner did it any favours - its inspired by the 'talking heads' camera work in SILENCE OF THE LAMB
