DRAWMEGLE DUMP FROM LIKEFORVER AGO

drawmegle was this weird little website that was like omegle, except for drawing and nominally fewer nazis?? tho at launch that was a bit of an issue lol (idk the creator went on vacation right after advertising or something? oops). i got sucked into it for like a day or two and ended up drawing a bunch of stuff. ive lost some of it because there was this weird glitch that just deleted my drawings before i could save them or anything. OH WELL. thats also the reason some of these are slightly unfinished. im also going to be cropping most of these to just my side, exceptions where its funny, or the other persons art was nice or whatever. just know that these almost all had people on the other side who were also drawing their own thing. also of note, i wont be posting these in order of creation, its mostly arbitrary tbh

this first one is of haru from dorohedodo. i had just finished reading the manga about a month or so prior, and i really loved this character a lot. disregard the amogus or whatever. dorohedoro is really cool and its really special to me now. not a fan of the anime adaption but what the fuck else is new (im sorry if you like the anime, i just didnt like the style very much). Q hayashida is brilliant, and she clearly just really loves women like a lot, thank you miss Q!

next is this silly drawing of knives chau. scott pilgrim takes off had just aired, and i was slightly enamored with knives for a bit, i kin the scott pilgrim girl fucking sue me. i also drew kim, but the drawing deleted and this was the last save i had WAHOOOOOO its so fucking over. scott pilgrim takes off was obviously really really good in my opinion, and its like the perfect way to adapt an original work in my mind. uh shout outs knives or whatever.

oops shitty cowboy bebop drawing. i like this one well enough for how goofy it is. jets fucking face still kinda gets me. i love bebop a ton, but i dont think ive ever drawn the characters despite that. theyre actually a ton of fun to draw, like their shapes are all super varied and they have distinct style about them. very good cast of characters. i didnt even realize or mean to, but i kinda gave spike a fucking granny face, oops

uuuuhthese pissing dogs are really funny, they were fun to draw, and seeing peoples reactions to this one in particular was cool. having even a little bit of ability to draw on sites like this where randos are looking at your work as youre drawing it is always kind of an ego boost. like none of these drawings are really that great, but for the medium im happy with them, and having people show up and go "woah" was always really flattering and it was fun watching the other people draw and interacting with them in some limited capacity.

ggggundam bullshit. i left the other persons side this time because i thought it was kinda funny. i had been rewatching the early part of turn A gundam, and it really reminded me how fucking cool that series is? loran is like top 10 gender non conforming mech pilots (there are a surprising amount honestly). and it always kinda takes me off guard when i watch any gundam because they were just so forward thinking in a nominally "boy" coded genre. shoutouts the fucking gundam staff frfr.

uuuh quick fire round of stuff i dont like how i drew but want to post anyways. the first one is my irl husband, aki from chainsaw man. i love him a lot, kinda hate this drawing tho, i think it was the first one i did? the second one is basil from omori, im a big fan of little blorbos who peep the horror, and basil is no exception. my friend got me the little vinyl figure of him for my birthday so i end up thinking about him a lot and i doodle him every now and then. very good design. the last one is kiruko from heavenly delusion. i did not have much hype going into the show after my middling feelings on summertime rendering (they were both in the news for being on disney+ for absolutely no reason). i dont remember what got me to watch it, but by the time episode 2 ended i was stuck in big time. i ended up binging the whole series in like one night and it was such a good time. the prototypical calcium show is probably somewhere between heavenly delusion and made in abyss. its a rough watch at times, but if you have this specific brainrot, its probably one of the best in its league tbh.

second to last is this drawing of vriska homestuck. i kept the other side because it was really pretty. im genuinely quite pleased witht his drawing, its not perfect but for what it is i find it visually appealing enough to like it. vriskas design is probably the best in homestuck, at least to me. its been a long time since ive read through homestuck proper, but something about these little shits sticks with you pretty much forever. actual fucking deadly brain parasites you get from dunking your head underwater in an infested pool, dead within days.

They DO call him Stormbringer in the book - kinda ironic here tho since we know it's been raining a lot bc Zeus is mad lmao. I also love how young she looks since she was basically a teen mom

- That said I wish we'd seen how angry Gabe and the situation had made Percy instead of him just looking like a lost puppy. Just him angrily stomping to his room then immediately RELAXING when he saw his mom would have been perfect.

- ... do we really need another diAngelo reference. Again. I liked that Nico and Bianca were just random kids in the books at first y'know.

- No seriously between this, Mythomagic and a potential Blackjack... Dont Marvel this, show, PLEASE dont "I understood that reference" me 40 million times :/

- ... Sally is? Shutting Gabe up? Making him say please? Book Gabe would never ever let them go to Montauk after that, lmao. Is this really the kind of guy you're gonna MURDER at the end of the season?? Does it really warrant THAT? With this setup, it feels like it's leading up to ditching his crumpled backside with humiliation and hundreds of thousands of dollars in bills for all the appliances, not actual death. It just doesn't feel like either Percy or Sally are truly at the end of their rope with him.

- Idk I thought they were going to start with more subtle signs of abuse and then have that /moment/ when Percy realizes Gabe has been hitting Sally, and all the subtlety would fade away. Book Gabe is worse, but you get the feeling of Percy being used to it. It makes the moment he realizes it's much worse hit like a gut punch, which is what I expected them to emulate. Guess that's that then :/

-  Percy still looks like a confused puppy instead of being relaxed with Sally/angry at Gabe/happy about Montauk. Pls don't let this become a trend I know Percy being clueless and dumb all the time is a sin the later books did to him but,,, not here,,, not with this,,,

- it took me a moment to realize that was Kronos bc that did NOT sound like what a voice that seemed to come from the bowels of the earth should lol

- Ok, so I guess Sally crying while Percy's asleep is proof she's been holding back a lot. Maybe they had her stand up to Gabe as a hint that she's desperate and it's not something she usually does? That recontextualizes things, but, idk. Still think it would hit harder if they had made Gabe more menacing. You don't need to keep the physical abuse, but, idk, just shoot the same scene with Gabe's lines having more venom to them instead of that condescending vibe. Or at least not end it feeling like Sally "won" the argument, which is what it felt to me. Gabe at least coming out on "top" would tie it up more neatly imo. Maybe the line about not a scratch on the car or else?

- Unless she's crying cause she knows she's about to loose Percy. mmmmm.

- Interesting that they changed it from Percy always knowing Montauk was where Sally and his dad met.

- I do like the delivery of the scene tho, Sally is very awkward, it does feel like she rehearsed something akin to this and is so tense she cant get it out like she wanted. relatable lmao

- Loved the way Sally teared up too - really in line with the book - tho that would have stopped Percy dead on his tracks, he wouldn't push her like this, even if he was frustrated. - I thought Grover felt a little too... Grown up I guess? But y'know what, I'm warming up to this cadence of his voice. Makes sense since he's like 28

Are they doing away with the Council of Cloven Elders and having THAT be the reason Grover goes with Percy bc. I would not like that.

- Okay, kinda warming up to the Minotaur design. Wish they kept the half-human bit of it but anthro cow works too. Fun fact I occasionally imagined Bessie being the one with long ears so this threw me off for a bit lol

- Not sure about how to feel about Sally being the one to tease the Minotaur with the coat. I GUESS its not too different from Sally being the one to tell Percy to jump sideways, but the thing is I don't like how giving that to her left Percy's own confrontation with it

- Like he just CHARGES IT, that's supremely stupid :/ Percy actually thought strategically about it even if he was terrified and angry, he was able to control himself enough to be smart about it!

- We also miss out on him doing it bc he already lost his mom and couldn't loose Grover

- Also did he hit it with Riptide in that lateral move he does in the book? Isnt that THE move that kills it?

- Riptide is being your resident Spidey-Sense again BUT AT LEAST THE SWORD GLOWS ITS BEAUTIFUL I'M SO HAPPY.

- I actually had a moment of "oh, they made it sparkle?" and then it hit me that its the celestial bronze glow and I cheered lmao. I expected it to be a little more subtle so it took me a second but this is SO COOL.

- I like that they still have Percy climb on its back but it feels too sanitized: grabbing the horn, being able to hold on with just your knees on to a slippery animal IN THE RAIN in order to have a cool stab-in-the-head shot.

- Like the sequence isn't BAD, per se, it just lacks that frenzied, barely thinking, just surving, angry and hurting vibe of the book. It's like they sucked all of the emotion out of it even tho its more or less accurate.

- No Percy dragging Grover down to camp, crying, calling for his mom? CRIMINAL. You cast a little kid! Let him be a little kid!!

- At least the credits are pretty

Final thoughts: I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but I sort of expected that, given how much Riordan shows up in the credits, this would have been more book-accurate. And even if it wasn't, he went off about how the actors may not look like the characters, but they embody the "feel" of them, and that's enough, which so far holds up - Walker Scobell being the absolute winner so far, kid can ACT - with the notable of exceptions of Grover (too in control, too serious, not really the scaredy but brave satyr he is), Chiron (yea, he definitely feels too old and dignified for my tastes. He feels like someone who teaches theory, not practice.) and Smelly Gabe.

So I think I expected the same out of the show. But I actually think it's more akin to the Hunger Games: pretty accurate if you go through it scene by scene, but with so much nuance, emotion and context missing.

Regardless of how negative this sounds, I actually enjoyed the episode! It just caught me off guard, how... lifeless is a bit harsh, it's more like a lot of the emotion was sucked out of quite a few scenes, it felt like they were just hitting plot points I guess? Regardless, I'll adjust my expectations accordingly. I DO genuinely like the THG movies, and I assume if I apply the same separation between adaptation and book to this show it'll be a lot more fun.

(The one thing I wont forgive is the score tho. It's SO generic. Almost like a discount superhero theme at times. Sad.)

first is gonna be spindle since. i love them. theyre probably my favourite. and also the first i made. theyre just babie

kind of accidentally an endless source of lifeblood which is a long story but its not.. very fun. to be constantly covered in plants. by adulthood most of their torso and one of their limbs is almost completely replaced/encased in plant matter

tries to keep up a strong stoic front but also doesnt hesitate to abandon it if needed. theyre big soft really (they wont admit it tho)

has The Biggest soft spot for kids do not let them tell you otherwise

fought for the sake of it in the colosseum for many years before Stuff And Things involving yet another vessel happened and they kinda trashed the place and never went back

their nail is about as big and heavy as their entire body and they’re surprisingly good at using it for something so unwieldy. could probably crush most bugs just by virtue of it being So Damn Big

spends a lot of time when grown at the howling cliffs keeping an eye on those travelling into the kingdom, and deterring those with malicious intent

they got that eye wound from their sibling… it was technically an accident. they still don’t talk about it though

contrary to their twin thimble is the smallest vessel (as a babby at least - they do end up standing taller than spin and ruth when fully grown)

they have the very unfortunate problem of their shade having fused with void tendrils from the abyss sea as a babby

as such their shade is very violent and kinda has a habit of literally bursting out their shell and lashing out at anything around them under stress

eventually they get a handle on it and learn to control the literally overflowing void inside them but until then their entire life is pretty much a big clusterfuck of trying not to kill people, which they hate

they’re very timid and shy and cling to familiar figures (especially scratch) probably too much, but strike out on their own much more growing up 

theyre very strong and capable, moreso than most magic users, but you wouldn’t guess it. the only time they’d even consider showing it is in another’s defense

uses void tendrils like extra limbs. very functional! can hold many things (or offer many hugs) at once. may be slightly slimy though.

their cloak is very long and would probably benefit from being trimmed shorter but they absolutely refuse to let anyone touch it. its kinda grimy at this point and they trip a lot but don’t do anything about it

friends with a bunch of mossflies they picked up in the gardens! they all have names

can communicate with other void-creatures by sharing some of their own void! this was discovered entirely by accident but very useful, if awkward to explain

doesn’t have a natural cloak - it was ripped out and never grew back in. they make do though! their ‘new’ one was made from part of scratch’s that they ripped off and fixed together. they love it more than anything

once they actually figured out not everyone was out to kill them they stopped fighting back, and became a lot more curious and lively in general

still has a very warped and guarded sense of trust, however

kinda iffy around weapons and reacts badly to confrontation but does eventually learn to fight again (just.. in a better way)

Nik’s full name is Nikolas Isaac Arwaine

Nikolas means ‘victory of the people’ Isaac means ‘laughter’ and Arwaine, I took the Celtic god of the dead Arwan and added a few letters :)

It was chosen bec when i orginally was writing him, he was inspired by Nikolai Lant/sov in Grisha.

Nik had,,, an interesting childhood. HIs father wasn’t,,, outwardly abusive, perse. But he did lock his kids in places to get out (he broke nates hand bec nate wouldnt stop drawing). His mom taught him how to lie and his parents gave him whatever he wanted besides the one thing he Really wanted

He has fond memories of Adrien and his ohter brothers taking him to the ocean. He had fond memories of hanging out with Nate in Nates studio. One of his fave memories is Nate putting face paint on his face when he was a lil birb

A bad memory he has is getting so afraid of not being able to get out of a room, he threw himself into a panic attack and he was shaking and crying so hard that his dad was so damn disappointed in him that he didnt talk to Nik for a Long Time

Like this way, Mon-El can come back at anytime (next season or several seasons down the road) and they can start this bullshit romance all over again b/c this still makes him seem like the good guy who did the right thing. This isn’t closure. This is to be continued and I don’t want it to be fucking continued. I’m salty. But ultimately glad he’s going. Like damn, at this point I guess I should take what I can get. This season was a mess. The first half had alot of high points! The first half was much better than most of S2, but season 3B was rough. Like really rough. Like I almost stop watching rough. These writers just need to learn to plan their seasonal arcs (overall & character) out better. Contrary to popular belief they do have the time and a room (a whole team) full of writers that should be able to work out wild inconsistencies. I don’t know what the problem is, but The Flash suffers from it too. And I just truly hope they can get their shit together. If Mon-El had stayed I wouldn’t even be planning to watch S4, but since he seems to be gone for the moment (and b/c I’m a totally obsessed sucker) I’ll tune in and see how it goes. What the hell, I guess

*cracks knuckles* let's begin (this is literally just me ranting about my life bc i need it OUT of my system but there isn't actually anything interesting here lmao oops)

i walk into work on thursday. it is 6pm. i haven't even put my apron on yet. i am immediately informed that two of the chefs just walked out. two of them. just fucking walked out. no replacement no warning no nothing just left us scrambling with NO ACTUAL CHEFS. i feel like you cannot understand the severity of this if you haven't worked in the catering industry so let me just do a quick rundown. usually we have 2 or 3 main chefs working the kitchen, as well as 1 chef on larder, 1 chef on sweets and 2 kps. and the two chefs that walked out were the ONLY TWO MAIN CHEFS ON FOR THAT SHIFT. NO ONE WAS MAKING THE FOOD. i hadn't even clocked in yet

two of our managers had to work in the kitchen and one of the agency chefs (my absolute favourite though we'll mention him later im gonna call him M) had to get called in last minute. the kitchen was working about 50% slower than usual. did the customers understand? did they CARE? did they FUCK

it honestly felt like everyone woke up that humble thursday and decided to be a cunt like even before the Problems started the customers were already being pissier than normal. i had one lady start complaining BEFORE SHE'D EVEN SAT DOWN about the LAST TIME she was here. like okay that's so interesting what the fuck am i supposed to do about that

then there was the food. shit was taking up to an hour to be served and when it did arrive it was just getting sent back to the kitchen left right and centre. almost every single table i had was having shit knocked off their bill bc the quality was so bad. i genuinely think the pub LOST money that day that's how awful it was. and obviously every time you do the little walk of shame back to the passe, the chefs get aggier and aggier and the atmosphere from everyone was just SO rancid. like everyone was just frantic the entire shift it was awful

one of my fav coworkers is really nice and kinda shy and some cunt YELLED AT HER like i mean he SHOUTED at the fucking WAITRESS and she literally had to come over to my section to calm down bc obviously that's very upsetting (though i was very flattered that she came to me. being new and a part-timer means i still cling to any validation i get there bc it's proof that they Like me and im doing a Good job)

'oh! i went to [different rough school]' which in a place where the clientelle and also a lot of the staff are private school toffs goes a long way. and we've sort of latched onto each other ever since lol

I FOUND OUT MY MANAGER (30+) IS SLEEPING WITH ONE OF THE WAITRESSES (19) AFTER BREAKING UP WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND WHO IS FRIENDS WITH ANOTHER OF THE WAITRESSES AND NOW HE'S MAKING THE FRIEND'S LIFE HELL LIKE HE KEEPS TAKING HER OFF THE ROTA AND TREATING HER LIKE SHIT AS IF HE'S NOT A LITERAL NONCE

i kinda had a go at one of the girls? help okay i felt bad and it's not like i shouted but i was working yesterday and there's this one section that we all HATE working bc it's right next to the food passe AND the kitchen so it means not only do you work your section but you also have to keep on top of polishing cutlery and running food when the designated runner isn't about. and it's shit but we all just get on with it when we do it bc that's how a job fucking works. but my god we had two girls in this section yesterday (called R and I) and another girl (A) who's worked there a while. now A was the ONLY ONE DOING THE FOOD PASSE bc we're still INSANELY understaffed atm, when usually we have upwards of three people doing it, and obviously when she goes to run food there's no one there. tell me why i walk into this section, immediately see THREE tables that need cleaning, there's a bucket of cutlery that needs polishing AND the chefs are shouting for service, and I is just fucking leaning against the counter sipping a drink doing fuck all. absolutely fucking infuriating i went right up to her and i was SO bitchy about it too i was like 'those tables need clearing :) oh and if you get a minute that cutlery isn't going to polish itself!' and then i turned to R who im actually mates with and i KNOW she's capable but i also think she's the kind of worker that just reflects what her coworker is doing (v much 'why should i do it if she isn't'. childish), and i was like 'hey just a heads up if the chefs are shouting for service and there's no one on the passe to take it you should probably just do it :)'. like literally it is not difficult. help your fellow waitresses out what is wrong with you. A looked like she was going to KILL someone

this one table ordered two white wine spritzers and two cranberry spritzers and for some reason my dumbass forgot and thought it was four white wine spritzers. they then proceeded to take FOR-FUCKING-EVER explaining to me what they actually ordered like the one woman was like 'is this the cranberry spritzer?' does it look like the fucking cranberry spritzer you silly cow would you just give it back so i can get you a new one fucking HELL

this is all bc im too lazy to actually use my notepad half the time. why did i think taking an order for a table of seven using nothing but my MEMORY was going to end well. the fact i only shafted two of the drinks and nothing else is a bloody miracle

i had another table (again. no notepad. this is always the reason for my mistakes and im not gonna stop) where i completely forgot their side orders like fully did not add it to the bill went in one ear out the other and i remembered AS I SERVED THEIR FOOD (bc i changed section to the passe at that point) and the guy was like 'we're also waiting on some onion rings and a salad :)' and i had the NERVE the fucking GALL to go 'yep those are just coming now :)' knowing full well they didn't even exist yet

forgot about one bloke's coffee which actually isn't a big deal but the coworker who took over my section and told me that he was asking for his coffee and did i actually take an order for one just happened to be the coworker i cannot STAND and i had to admit to her of all people that i forgot. she's such a mardy bitch i cba

like literally at one point i was refilling the mayonaise jars (SHIT JOB BITE CRUNCH BITE BITE I HATE YOU) and she had a birthday cake that she needed to put on the table i was working on and she was fussing about in her own world chatting with a different waitress (the one who slept with the manager. they're in a different 'clique' to me and im not really a fan of any of them) and in her defence she was clearly stressed but those two just completely AIRED me and then she had the fucking cheek to laugh a bit and go 'what do you want?' to me?!?!?!?! the way i GLARED at this girl like she immediately was like 'oh that came out really blunt' but i already hated her so i was like 'actually i was here first trying to do my own job' and i said it in a really shit tone and it was just super awkward. like literally what is your problem

BUT on a lighter note i was put on section for a bit with this girl i haven't met before who's worked there ages but she's been at a law firm for a few months hence why ive only just met her and we just IMMEDIATELY clicked like it was a very good match of energy. there is nothing worse than being on a section with someone you cant banter with and me and her just got on so well and she was telling me all the gossip it was great

light at the end of the tunnel: remember M? the agency chef? well one of the really nice things about my place is that we all tend to stay for a drink whenever we finish our shift, and bc i tend to get off quite early on the close i finish at the same time as M a lot, so the two of us are quite good friends (he's american though i have GOT to stop doing this. we had tomato and basil soup on menu the other day and all of the staff literally took turns asking him what we had just to hear him butcher it). and yesterday we both finished at the same time again and it was just a really nice interaction like i poked my head into the kitchen like 'im getting off early!' and he without hestiating was like 'i'll meet you at the bar!' like omg people LIKE me are you seeing this shit

it got better too! we have one free staff drink (only on the weekend though. absolute pisser) and i got a rum and coke but bc im mates with the bartender he made it literally 80% rum i cannot express how strong this drink was i genuinely think he was trying to kill me. and obviously i drank it all and for a while me and M just chatted to each other BUT THEN we saw three of our other coworkers were at the bar and we all cordoned off a little section with bar stools so the customers couldn't come near us (at first i was like 'i dont want to interupt anything' BC MY ONE COWORKER HAD HIS HAND ON MY OTHER COWORKER'S THIGH I WAS LIKE HELLO???? I WASNT TOLD ABOUT THIS??? like they're not together yet so it's even more exciting. but they were like 'omg no dont be daft' and literally DRAGGED MY STOOL CLOSER lmao). anyway i decided i was going to buy a cocktail bc we were all laughing about how our 'fancy cocktails' come from a fucking CAN and it was just nice bc i was chatting with the four coworkers and the bartender put extra effort into making my drink AND THEN i had to leave to meet my mates bc we were all going out yesterday and M practically JUMPED to try and pay for my drink and i was like 'no absolutely not' AND A DIFFERENT COWORKER AFTER A WHILE CUT IN LIKE '[my name] im sorting the till tonight, just have it free don't worry about it' AND LIKE THEY WOULDNT DO THAT IF THEY HATED ME SO I WAS JUST LIKE GUYSSSSSS <3333 yeah it was just sweet im a very paranoid person so any indications that people actually dont despise me are always so !!!!!

Rating plants ive personally owned/ own on a scale of 1- 10, 1 being sucks i hate it and it also died for no reason and 10 being i love it and it is flourishing with my at times shitty care

1. Dracaena fragrans nr1

The one that looks a bit like a bamboo palm tree. Solid 7/10 i think she is pretty and you usually can tell exactly when she needs water because her leaves curl. However has had little to no growth since i got it and i cant figure out why, -3 for that

2. Dracaena fragrans nr2

The one that looks like a palm without a stump. 10/10 ive been trying to kill it for over a year and it refuses to die. That could be spite. But she is very recomendable i think... top five things she survived so far being 1.overwaterd cause if i have water leftover she gets it 2 sunburned. I forgot her outside after repotting. 3 being dropped. Standing in the darkest corner of my room 4. Being dropped. Again. 5. Forgot to water it for like two weeks cause ive moved it to another room . I would give it a -5 for personality because im mad at her but that is personal between me and her.

3. Succulents

All of them. No matter if purple or greenish. 2/10 some people love them, i hate them. idk what im doing wrong but so far ive had five? And only one of them still is alive. Either they rot or dry out. Idk who recommends them to beginners i hate them.

4. Cacti

Nice. 9/10 i dont like them because they are spiky and im an idiot, but they really are not easy to kill. One time i overwatered one and it got mushy, but since it still is alive over two years later i guess it doesnt count. They really are a great starter plant i think because they survive on very little care, and if you grow out of being a beginner you can get to the more challenging ways of caring for catci (that still are quite simple i think)

5. Monstera deliciosa

9/10, i think they can be quite tricky but only if you dont believe in yourself. They also are easy to propagate which always is a huge plus. U get more plants out of one. Its genius i love it. I got mine at ikea and on god it has doubled in size in like a year???? They should get extra points for looks because they are really nice and green

6. A yucca palm

9½/10 Idk..... ive had to repot it once but idk if it has even grown since i got it. Its a very nice and easy planta nd it looks good but doenat have much action to talk about. I wouldnt know how to kill it either so id consider it a nice starter. The very bottom leaves get yellow and krispy but that apparently is normal so no need to worry, thats just how it grows.

7. Gummy tree

6/10 i worry about it all the time even though it doesnt do anything that should worry me. But it has very few leaves so it cant loos that many which gives it a feel of walking on thin ice. Stressful. Very pretty tho should get extra points. Also remind me to ask my grandma for tips because hers is literally 60 years old.......... so maybe its like the monstera you just gotta believe in yourself

8. Orchids

I have got two, a purple ikea one and a papophilium or some shit. 4/10 They are really pretty especially the pap,,, paep,,,, the expenisive-ish one❤ but i hate them. What do they want. No that isnt true the ikea one... well ive accidentally overwatered it right after buying it because i didnt realize the pot it came w had no drainage which then lead to me removing both soil and half the now moldy roots. And orchids dont need soil so id just put it in a cup of water every once in a while...... that is really easy to forget tho and now shes dry and shrively :( the expensive one i accidentally let it stand in a saucer of water and now theres mushrooms in the soil thingy which is bad i think. Gets extra points for also surviving being dropped twice

9. Spider plants

My beloved. 10/10

I got one from ikea but then decided the single plants in the pot were to overcrowded so i took them out and seperated it into three. I probably ripped half the roots but they survived and now are flourishing. One of them has an offshoot going on rn, which leads me to the other two i have, my mom got me them as cuttings from her office plant and i left them in just water for at least third a year oops. They started getting a lil moldy so i planted them and now they are going strong again. Love. They also are really easy to propagate because offsphoots are everything but rare in an older(ish) plant, and also really easy to grow from there. Another one id consider a good beginner plant because all they want is water and a place on the windowsill. The latter is optional too but they do get nicer there i think. Ig they also wouldnt say no to the occasional fertilizer but again they do not need it i think.

10. Pileas

7/10, almost killed my big one by putting it into a too big pot AND shady place at all the same time. In the midst of winter. Cant recommend it. Have now put it back into a smaller pot and shes flourishing again. The small one i have i cant say much about. She does her job and is very smol. Also worth mentioning is you dont have to water pilea babies more than big ones it makes them mold <\3. I think its an easy plant if you dont fuck around to much. Propagating them can b really easy too because the offshoots just. Grow there. And u ideally have to cut them and put them in water. The last time i tried this was winter. Bad idea doesnt work. Trying it again rn ig ill update this section accordingly.

11. Clusia rosea

6/10 ive too put her into a too big pot cause i dont have an intermediate one so she looks stupid now. Has grown a lil since i got it 2 years ago, but thats fair cause i dont really care for her that greatly. Mediocre to me idk

12. Peperomia polybotrya

0/10 so far its getting yellow and i cant figure out why. Need to google how to care for them.

13. Venus fly trap

7/10 Doesnt work anymore idk why :((..... a bit sad but ive moved her to the bathroom that usually helps. They really are a cool gimick and theoretically very easy to take care of, you literally just gotta make sure its in water amd standing in a sunny place at all times. I think mine might be lacking fertilizer or maybe just humidity. We will see, ill update this section too

14. Nepenthes

9/10, mine had a rough start cause i interpreted 'keep in humid place ' as 'spray with water every day' so i overwaterd her. She lost all her pitchers but i now know they just do that in winter. Unless u have a growlight. She has been moved to the windowsill in the bathroom now and is flourishing there :))

15. 3 bonus tips

1) dont propagate plants in winter unless you have grow lights or want them to die. Or live somewhere really warm maybe

2) cheap plants r not inherently worse than expensive plants (now i dont own any expensive plants but since my cheapish once work fine........yk) but especially plants from like. Chain stores like ikea often need to be repotted shortly after buying..... ive heard its a marketing thing cause if you dont do it they just get yellow and ugly and youll have to buy a new one yk. But repotting them is manageable i think so its fine you just gotta know it ig.

3) if somethings going wrong for no reason and you have a window in your bathroom put the plant there it usually helps a lil. And if it doesnt well than at least the plant dies in a peaceful place...... jk theres probably several great checklist online tho that might help you find the cause of it so dont despair <33
