nami and i meet on that same ghost ship that brook was on in the beginning of thriller bark. after nami fly kicks brook for asking to see her panties, i emerge from behind the crates he crashed into with a groan. because of my devil fruit (wink wink it’s called the sound sound fruit), my groan ominously echoes throughout the ship and they all freak out again. “brook, was that you?” asks luffy. “what was that?!” nami yells. sanji is trying to hide that he’s shivering in his boots. and ofc brook replies with some stupid shit like, “yohohoho! i would never groan like that! i don’t have the lungs to groan with!”

anyways so i lurch from behind the crates and i look… wrecked. my clothes are torn, my hair is a mess and my pallor screams ‘i haven’t seen sunlight or food in weeks’. now cue everyone (especially nami) freaking the FUCK out because i look so malnourished they think i’m the undead. “ZOMBIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!” nami jumps back and shrieks.

slowly, with croaky voice, i mutter, “…panties?” and then fall face first into the deck. and rightfully so, nami is NOT happy, “you’ve got to be kidding me” is what she hisses after.

that’s how we meet! i’m barely conscious and she is terrified of me until i’m just another weirdo to her. but later on when they confirm that i am in fact a living person and hear the full story on how i ended up on that ship, she doesn’t think so anymore. she even pities someone like myself becoming stuck with brook for so long. likeeee the first thing she asks me when i come to is, “okay, who are you and why do you look like you’ve just crawled out of a grave?” but when i eventually scrub up, she gets a lil twinkle in her eye, pleasantly surprised at how pretty i actually am under all that grime

A BokuHaka Post

First things first, I’m so glad I stuck to the 3 episode rule and didn’t drop this in episode 2 because god knows I’d have dropped this on episode 2. That was hard to watch.

Anyways, just wanna make a post about this cause of reasons I’d explain below and also I’m shipping Hanadori x Koyuki. What’s the ship name for them? idk. They sadly don’t have a tag on Pixiv I can refer to (the only ship with a tag there is Tsukimiya x Koyuki which is TsukiSeri). There’s not much photos down there and it’ll get boring. You’ve been warned. :P

Okay, so first of all, the other shipping fandoms I’m in is either the ship antis hate the most so we get attacked or insulted or the ships have in-fighting bec. fans can’t decide how to portray the characters... or both. It was a headache. Before I could completely lose it, BokuHaka gave me something to be happy about.

So yeah, this post is just me fangirling over these two.

I dunno where to start. I wanted to ship them before I even watched the show cause they cute. That’s it. I thought I’d only get a few shippy moments (using the power of shipping goggles!) but holy crap this show just exceeded my expectations! Hahaha

First of all, can we talk about the OP?

You guys are familiar with the ‘Red String of Fate’, right? And the beginning of that red line is Hanadori’s headphones and the end is a black feather Koyuki touches which made it become white. I mean... and in the end, Koyuki just smiled at Hanadori and it made Hanadori smile back?! Guys! Wth?!!

While Hanadori can be quite annoying at times and Koyuki just loses his temper quickly cause of the weird chuuni antics, these two really do care about each other. Even if Koyuki doesn’t wanna admit it. Like in the amusement park episode where Hanadori went in a haunted house even if he’s scared just to get a charm that he thought could help Koyuki. Hanadori wasn’t told of anything but he noticed Koyuki looking troubled and thought to try and do something about it.

And the episode where Koyuki had a part-time job and disguised himself (poorly, mind you) so Hanadori and Tsukimiya won’t bother him when they went to eat at that same restaurant. Hanadori knew Koyuki was disguised which isn’t that surprising but the fact that he knew exactly why Koyuki did so is interesting. He does care about Koyuki in his own way, too but it’s just he doesn’t always know the reason why the guy is upset but when he does, he goes out of his way to do what he could. 

Anyways, their current relationship made me question things, too. By ‘current relationship’, I mean their canonical seemingly ‘one-sided’ friendship. Is Hanadori only Koyuki’s friend because of the past life thing and bec. he wanted to be the guy Koyuki wants for a friend? Is Koyuki just part of Handori’s fantasy world building? Is he friends with Koyuki for who the latter is as a person or only cause Koyuki is ‘Gestober’?

The latest episode actually answered my question. Surprisingly. And the answer is kind of a ‘Yes’, I guess. He does like Koyuki as a person and thinks the guy is cool and kind.

I also noticed this. Remember the scene where Koyuki tried being mean so that Hanadori would leave him alone? And Hanadori’s response is

At first I thought it was a one-time joke cause you wouldn’t think this’ll be the reaction but in the latest episode, Hanadori shows us exactly how he views Koyuki with flashbacks.

Koyuki mentions that he did not say those lines at all. Hanadori seems to just have a weird mental filter when it comes to him.

In his mind, Koyuki is kind of this cool, kinda smug guy who acts mean sometimes but is actually nice (I remember Tsukimiya describing it as Koyuki being a ‘tsundere’). Koyuki acting mean isn’t out of character at all to how Hanadori sees him. Which as Koyuki comments is kind of concerning lol. The guy has expectations. It also explains why no matter how many times Koyuki yells at him, he (Hanadori) rarely gets mad or upset unless he finds out in a straight-forward way that Koyuki doesn’t like him. Like in the ferris wheel and with Mogami’s sister.

And this! Another person who, for some reason is clinging towards Koyuki. When Koyuki ask why Hanadori picked him instead of anyone else who might be better, Mogami says this meaning he knows exactly why. He probably likes Koyuki (as a friend if you’re not looking with shippy goggles) for the same reasons.

Like in the school trip, even if Koyuki claims to want to get rid of Hanadori, the moment he realizes the guy is either in danger or in pain (even emotionally as it’s shown he doesn’t like seeing Hanadori cry) or is troubled, he would quickly look for him and would try to do something. He doesn’t wanna admit it but he does care... too much.

He tries to cheer up Hanadori by telling him ‘We’re not friends but we can still be normal classmates’ to show he doesn’t really hate Hanadori as much as Suzuran said. And for added effect, he even ate the candy Hanadori gave him earlier to show appreciation. He didn’t have to do that but he did.

Oh my god... he’s blushing just cause it’s the first time he tried calling Koyuki by his real name. God, imagine one day if he ever tries to call him by his first name ‘Seri’. It’s so cuuuute!!!!

Koyuki finds this reaction creepy and punches Hanadori while telling him to just keep calling him ‘Gestober’ instead. Next scene, we see this. Hanadori got punched hard enough to land in the river. Just him. So why is Koyuki wet, too? Obviously he probably tried to help Hanadori get out of the water. He either fell in the river while helping the guy get up or he went in the river himself.

Either way, he shows again how much he cares. lol I mean, for someone who got pushed to a river, Hanadori looks happy doesn’t he? Koyuki didn’t have to save him either, but the guy did anyways.

He’s also later happily telling their teacher how Koyuki gave him permission to keep calling the latter ‘Gestober’ when Koyuki hated it before. And also mentioned how he wants to try calling him ‘Koyuki’ again sometime. XD

Oh my god, this anime. I kinda wish I had made episode posts commentary for this like I do with ‘Mairimashita! Iruma-kun’ since there would’ve been so much to talk about but I had missed the chance. I didn’t know if I’d like the anime or not. I do like it a lot and I’m either getting used to Tsukimiya or his actions aren’t as annoying as before now. Either way I like this so much? I ship this two so much, too!! It’s so cute!!!
