I don't really like Reko's deaths but demise from her own copy is ironic and bitter. I saw posts somewhere that her doppelganger killing her ties into her arc of starting as rough and becoming kinder and I see the appeal

Like that's her past, who Reko was (not to say she was a horrible person, it's just that she was a bit more selfish and harsh on people, she had flaws she worked on and grew as a person). She changed for better, mellowed out, reflected on her worldview. Reko knows her mistakes, she moved on more or less, she's a different person now! Let past be the past...

But in this case her past literally comes back and kills her. Someone that she no longer is. With flaws she no longer has. As if life hasn't forgotten about how selfish Reko was. It's not like it was irredeemable of fake Reko to kill the real one because the former had identity crisis and a threat of death. But it still chases our Reko down as a reminder of her past rough personality

colin, a young and attractive guy, supposedly having a threesome and watching a sex show performed by professionals whom he pays for their service when he is single and exploring what he does and doesn't like is bad for penelope, somehow

but debling a 30+ year old man feeling all up on her waist in public when she is a teenager and he has power and privilege over her and has known her for a grand total of like a week and a half is good, somehow

like this fandom has legit called Colin, a 22 year old man with like. . .2 UNCONFIRMED sexual interactions in the past a groomer for getting with Penelope and maybe introducing her to his interests (after spending YEARS listening to her and cherishing her and thinking she's fantastic) but will root on the actual 30+ year old man with an enormous power imbalance over her via his money and title to have his way with her in a backroom somewhere after knowing her for like a month

I ignore about 95% of the conversations surrounding Arya having killed people because, outside of Arya stans, people refuse to include the context of the very violent circumstances she experiences + her trauma which influences her actions. She wasn't destined to be a killer and her being forced on the run, having to survive during a war (at times on her own), having to witness countless people being tortured and murdered, being enslaved as a prisoner of war, having to witness the deaths of her family, etc. are all hugely important factors. Not to mention the times when her life is literally on the line and she has to make tough decisions to ensure her survival. The only time her trauma is acknowledged is when people are using it to prove she's "too far gone", otherwise it's essays on how she hasn't suffered that much. It's so boring how people ignore well-developed characters just to reduce them to one or two aspects of their story. And this treatment is only for certain characters; let someone mention Sansa being part of the plot to poison Sweetrobin and all of a sudden, people can understand being forced to make questionable decisions under difficult circumstances.

Let's be honest, Toji was just a hint of what Maki could do and that's it. But she was always established to not just be a strong character, but also a strong capable character even without cursed energy.

Story wise, Maki came first. Her story came first. She was a part of the main cast since JUJUTSU KAISEN 0.

Her reaching her full power isn't "Toji-fying her" or ruined her character. If anything she was an example of what Toji should have done.

Maki may have had a strained relationship with her twin, but she still cared for and loved her. She left the Zenin clan and didn't fall under their nonsense unlike Toji who sold his son to the family who hated him. She had her reason to leave, but it was a hard choice for her and she even apologized to Mai about it.

Her sister died (thanks to the Zenin clan) and it was over. She took revenge for herself and her sister, Mai. As she should!

This is genuinely going to be me whenever anyone asks me about this show now. I don’t remember what life was like before young royals started consuming my life. Sometimes I think what if I had never watched this show. It’s insanity.
