Dungeon Meshi Quick Reacts: CH40
Laios is apparently only good at drawing monsters.
You guys have no faith in him! Come onnnn
To that point, if the shapeshifters that are left are the most similar to the real selves, doesn't that prove that Laios actually knows them best? The other, easily-discounted shapeshifters were easily singled out as fakes because they were so caricature like.
The remaining fakes are just minutely different from the real selves. Chilchuk has slightly larger eyes, Marcille's hair is thinner, and Senshi has sharper features. What that says to me is that Laios is actually the BEST at reconstructing them in his mind.
Unfortunately, that. Kinda makes it harder.
Welll.......yeah. No, that makes sense.
This is a problem you all created 😂
This is legitimately making me question everything. Because like... Marcille A is acting pretty sus. But they've been through a lot, so maybe she's just depressed?
Oooooooh someone minmaxed into gayness. That's certainly a dependable strategy.
FAKE!!!!! He's the fake! Senshi would never deplete an ecosystem completely like that!!!!
ah yes, all sorts of nutrition. White rice is known for its nutrition like...... (looks at smeared writing on hand) carbohydrates and scant amounts of folates. Yep.
HE IS HANDSOME, BUT NOT "B"!! "A" IS ALSO HANDSOME!! THEY'RE BOTH HANDSOME!
.......guys. GUYYS.
Laios, you're such an absolute loser and I love you but please. Please turn on the autism. Just this once, please turn on the autism beam and point it at your friends. Please
"all of them! Everyone is fake! Including me!"
Wouldn't that be a plot twist.
why are both the chillchucks upset at this suggestion? shouldn't the real ones be relieved?
Illusions with physical traits, though? Is that not obvious once you start roughing it up with it? If something can be physical enough to fight, why not just use that thing to overpower the adventurer, then?
....so it's a vampire created illusion?
Okay, so because I saw someone else post this page to my dash about a week ago I'm actually fully aware of what comes next, and I can say with certainty that it does not ruin it. At all.
I gotta say, as a weird little kid that practiced barking like a dog and mimicking dog howls, this is making me feel SO SEEN. He's just like me fr.
And the fact that they're all supporting his talent........friendship is magic.
I'm so intrigued by this man and how his mind works.
Love is not letting your dumbass furry friend climb into the wolf enclosure at the zoo and try to fight the alpha of the pack.
This is. So real. I've never seen a manga commit SO MUCH to the weird little man trope, and I love Kui-san so much for this. This is true representation.
Dumbass recognizes dumbass. This is why they're friends.
I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THAT. I also didn't remember it!
Oh, hmm.....
I'm relatively certain the hand that Marcille grasped in the last chapter WAS the cat's hand. That means the cat followed them - but because no one knew she was there, the shapeshifter didn't create any illusions of her. That means she was just hiding out, observing everything.
Is she just sleeping in there curled up on the rice?
Ahhh, so it was a distraction.

The Prime of His Youth: Book III: Prometheus' Gift: Ch40: Ionization
They stood in a field outside of the city. The six Rust Renegades stood there. Amalthea was standing with Lostlight and Scorched Earth.
"Shouldn't we be helping with the ship?" Dust Up asked.
Arcee stood above them, "Most of the changes are going to be made for Humans." Arcee simply stated.
"You have a lot of faith in him, don't you?" Jumpstream asked.
"That's one way to say it." Arcee flatly replied, "Or we could say that I spent every waking moment trying to help my sparkmate. I gave up everything."
"What did you give up?" Rust Dust quickly asked.
"Honestly?" Arcee asked, "Nothing. Before The War I was a courier. I kept to myself. Life was simple. And then I've spent Ronnacycles fighting against genocidal dictators. I was looking to do something else, and spending time with my Human sparkmate made sense."
"Wait?" Stormclash asked.
"Human?" Skyburst added.
"He did tell us." Pyra Magna admonished her.
"It's still." Skyburst added.
"You know?" Stormclash asked.
"I know." Pyra Magna said, and looked back to Arcee.
"Human lives are so brief. I wanted to spend every waking moment with him." Arcee uttered.
"And then what happened?" Pyra Magna asked.
"We came to Caminus. They wanted to find out how much of a Prime he was." Arcee stated, "We went to Cybertron, ended another war, and he came back a Prime. Now, do you want a history lesson, or do you want to transform?" Arcee asked, and transformed. Everyone else transformed as well. Arcee then transformed back, now in her 10ft tall dollform. The archivists tried and failed to copy her, while the Rust Renegades just stared at her.
"That's dollform?!" Pyra Magna asked.
Rust Dust transformed to her usual 12ft height. "Oh, no! You have to get smaller!"
"So do you!" Arcee replied.
"I'll admit." Stormclash stated.
"She is adorable." Skyburst added.
"And you get to join me." Arcee said to them.
"Not that I'm complaining, but?.." Jumpstream asked.
"To help with the Humans." Arcee stated. "The most important thing is to feel the mass shift as you change." She transformed to her alt. form. She then reverted to her full height.
Pyra Magna reverted, and felt something, but she wasn't sure what.
"Does Japheth?" Skyburst asked.
"Dollform?" Stormclash added.
"Ehn?" Arcee asked, as she transformed again, "If he tried, he would probably lose half a foot." She then reverted to her dollform, "It's about MASS displacement, not height. The height is a byproduct."
* * *
June, Roxana, and Sif stood in their dollforms while Tethys stood in her full height. "And this is where the hydroponics will be." June stated. She then looked up at Tethys, and then up at the roof. "And the water upstairs."
"Having a basin up there would be perfect." Tethys said as she looked at the roof.
Sif looked about the room, "We could probably fit three layers of hydroponics." She then looked upwards, if there is enough room upstairs, we could maybe have aquaponics." She then nearly squealed, "This is so exciting. It's like magic. The plants absorb sunlight, and use it to feed Humans."
"You know what?" June asked, "Sirenia said the same thing. That Humans abuse the laws of physics. I guess if you aren't... weren't... organic, it would seem like magic. It's not like God gave us magic rocks to eat."
Sif gave her a curious look, "I've never thought of it that way. I guess we are both interesting to each other."
"Magical to each other!" Roxana exclaimed.
"I've never been as spiritual as..." Tethys uttered, "But, when you talk about it like that? It does almost seem magical."
* * *
Arcelia stood with Helia in the dark room that was both cramped and open at the same time. "And here's where he wants a Mini-Iacon." Helia just stared at her, dumbstuck. "He has a tendancy to do that to people." Arcelia said with a smile. "Any relics can be left safe in his house on Caminus."
"So, archives?" Helia asked, "As much as we have on Caminus, but in a fraction of the size." she fearfully voiced.
"There will only be three or four femmes in the archives, and all will be able to dollform."
"That actually..." Helia voiced, "Two thirds the size?" she asked. "You know what? We can do this? And we'll add a secret comparments for anything too precious. In fact, we'll add a few."
* * *
A dollform Sirenia slightly ducked to walk into the room. She then stepped aside and turned back to look at the builders, "I see why you wanted us to all be dollform." One of the builders said to her.
"There's another on the opposite side. In the middle we have a machine room which will be used for the water filtration. The room just outside will be setup as a kitchen and dinning room, and the one across the way will be used as a general room for the Humans."
"So, Humans will be up here?" one of the builders asked.
"What?" Sirenia asked, "No-no. They can go everywhere."
"How do you... not... you know?.." she asked.
"Watch your step." Sirenia said with simple finality. She looked distant for a moment, "I guess I never went through a phase where I was worried about it."
"And why is that?" one of the builders asked.
"Because I worshipped him." Sirenia simply stated.
"He is a Prime." the other builder replied.
"Before that." Sirenia giddily stated, "I was begging when he found me." She paused a moment, "When Arcee found me. So, he quite literally saved me. From my own idiocy, but still..." Their eyes grew wide with surprise and wonder. "He is that wonderful, yes." she said with glee.
* * *
Japheth stood at his the main console in his house, pouring over every detail he could. The service record, or should he say stories about the Rust Renegades. The location of the former colonies, and their natures. Minicon, Beastform. He tried looking into how the Rust Renegades became Combiners, as it shouldn't be possible. It was caused by the Enigma of Combination, which true to it's name, no one knew anything about. This was likely for the best, as you didn't have to evaluate every single Cybertronian as a potential Combiner. Combiners needed a common cause. Not necessarily a thought, but an emotion to drive them in one direction. It should not be a surprise to find out that in combat this emotion was often anger.
He saw movement out of the corner of his eye and saw Carron. He turned to look at her, "Shouldn't you be at dollform practice?" Carron transformed into a flittering griffinfly. She then reverted, standing 10ft tall. "You've already mastered it?" he asked, "Why didn't you tell me? Why haven't I seen you using it?" Carron shyly looked away. "Good work." he warmly said, and looked back to the console. She simply stood there. He turned back, "Anything I can do?.." he asked. She sighed. "Speak." he said firmly.
"If I must..." Carron voiced.
"You must." he firmly replied.
"I just... I want to know... with all of the new Warriors..."
"You're place is secure." Japheth simply stated, "At least until you feel you can walk on your own feet... or wings..."
"I hate that I have disappointed you..." she said, trying her best to hide her quavering spark.
Japheth turned towards her and stepped away from the console, "And exactly how have you disappointed me?"
"I have... anger... and hatred, and..."
"And you don't let it control you." Japheth replied, "Everyone has feelings they don't like, don't agree with, don't want. You have done a fantastic job of not being controlled by them. You are here as a scout, which on Terra would be a squire. Your job is to help me until you learn to fight on your own."
"And how long will that take?" Carron asked.
"For Humans, seven years or so." he said, and she worried, fretful, fearful. "Good thing we're not Humans, and have all of the time in the world."
"I'm not a burden?" she nervously asked.
"You help." Japheth uttered. "What more could I ask for?"
"I'm not leading lessons like your sparkmate. I'm not leading construction like your concubines. What am I doing?"
"Did you want to?" Japheth asked, and Carron wasn't sure how she could answer. "I'm being serious, is there something specific you wanted to learn?"
"I honestly have not thought about it." she replied.
"Then do." he said to her. "As long as you are sworn to me, any new ability to gain helps me. Once on the ship, we have a wide variety of people, and I could have one of them tutor you."
"I..." she nervously voiced.
"Yes?" he asked.
"I want to learn to treat Humans!" she exclaimed.
Slowly his face turned into a wide smile, "Any specific reason why?"
"Because few Cybertronians can?.." she nervously asked.
Japheth shrugged, "June was a nurse on Terra, Roxana has learned a lot as well, and when we get there, Ratchet has spent time treating Humans as well. They can all help you." he simply stated. "After the ship is ready, of course."
"Of course." she uttered.

Please feel free to ignore or delete this if it's too heavy but I've been going through Some Shit recently and have been struggling a lot with the urge to punish myself by skipping meals but earlier today i was suddenly struck with the thought 'that's some ritsu-ass nonsense' and when i got home i reread the burger scene and now im making myself food. So i guess i wanted to say thanks for 'its a Fucking Burger' because that's turning into a legitimate coping mechanism now
(ABoT ch40)
Ah, wow--and I mean that in a very genuine and sincere "wow" kind of way because. Formulating my thoughts here but the burger scene is very important to me. In a like "if this is important to no one else but me, that's okay, because it's still important to me" kind of way.
To keep this very personal between you, me, and absolutely anyone else scrolling this publicly available blog, there's a lot about that scene that comes from personal experience. Not in like an outright projection way but like, something which is far more personally honest, and therefore vulnerable, than I think any other scene. I also workshopped that scene more than any other. And it's one of my absolute favorites in the story because of what it means to me.
And like I mentioned I was totally fine with it just meaning something to me! It's fine if that was just another scene to everyone else. Felt a little bit like heading out into the forest alone to plant a flower. Doesn't matter if that's just one flower among many to everyone else. It's an important flower to me. Just a quiet chance to make peace with something I've finally felt healthy enough to look in the eyes and overcome.
Which is all kinda to say, it means a lot to me that you found that flower too. Like that thing which was important to me did, in fact, reach farther than me and that's the absolute best thing I could have wanted for it. I'm glad it could be that for you. The power of it's a Fucking Burger...

I think I have to vent a bit. I have rewatched the new episode twice, yet I'm very displeased with how Garou looks. He just doesn't feel like how Murata draws him. It's like they gave him wrinkles, his smiles make him look like the Grinch, his muscles look like jaggedly animated squares, his movements are so stiff and he seems way too buff and all of that just makes me so so very sad. I KNOW I'm the minority, but I rly want to enjoy the anime with everyone else yet I don't like what I'm seeing.
*pats* Hey man, it’s cool! :’) It’s fine to vent and voiceyour feelings, as long as it never gets to the point of attacking other peoplewho’re just trying to have a good time. And really, the anime is stillsomething separate and supplemental to the manga/webcomic anyway (it can’t ever touch or replace it), so as long asyou can release the mindset that’s otherwise holding it to the same impossible standardsas before (s1), then it’s possible to just relax and enjoy it as its ownthing instead. At least, that’s what I’m doing. I can’t speak for the otherfans here, but as long as you’re secure and realistic about your expectations, then the fanwank echo chambers (avoid the subreddit) can’t affect how you choose to enjoy it. :O It’s been years and there’s content I’ve wanted to see voiced and adapted for ages, so even I’ve got a mental checklist on what I want to see delivered most, even if I know it can’t possibly be perfect.
Anyway, I will concede though, that in the opening scene with him, they really jacked up the BEEF where it made it hard to gauge exactly how old he is, ahaha. :P (After credits scene was very manga faithful tho.) And yes, the art for his face was inconsistent at times (I’m reading up there were a bunch of animation directors for this ep, as opposed to just one person who’d have a stronger consistent say), but if it’s any solace, in those same intro chapters with him, even Murata varied his face a lot too before he gradually and comfortably settled into the Garou we all know and love. Take a look at all those beginning faces of him (ch40/41/45):
Where he was a lot more slender and younger manic looking, for sure. Plus he had a strong striking resemblance to Hiruma (from Murata’s previous work, es21) back then too. Also note the dark shadow lining around his eyes which isn’t as prominent on him anymore either.
Compare to how Murata draws him later (ch86-91), and he looks more like this:
A lot more clean-cut (aside from the blood) and chiseled/angular around the jawline. Oh no he’s hot. He doesn’t quite feel the same way as Murata initially used to draw him either. I would say Murata’s settled his design into his own a lot more now (does not resemble Hiruma anymore; Garou now looks like Garou). Which is a neat character + art evolution dual progression I’ve taken notice. :D
So now what I’m seeing in the anime is an attempt to draw him more like Murata’s current design (instead of how he used to look), and we end up with shots like these:
Which honestly feel pretty faithful! :O (That last one especially.) Like they’re going for more blended proportions (between past and present Murata designs) for consistency’s sake, rather than ripping straight from all those early panels. (Heck, getting these shots, I even noticed the canines show up more prominently later in the manga too.) So it really comes as no surprise to me if the animators had difficulty nailing down his intro faces here (which varied quite wildly even in those old panels from Murata)…when the main reference they’re going for is probably something more closely designed/matched to his later appearance instead. So if there’s a vibe/disconnect in there that feels ‘off model’ about the art, that’s probably the biggest reason for it.
I even remember the fan confusion for Midorikawa’s casting for him, because people felt the deep voice matched ‘later’ Garou better…and welp, now with the visuals similarly like that too, I can understand the direction for that! :D Definitely looking forward to what else Midorikawa has to offer this season! And especially when the eps start showing more of his sympathetic sides.
#Anonymous#replies#opm#garou#anime spoilers#panel comparisons#long post#whoaaa this post kinda exploded with caps ahaha#but yeah if the direction chose to have garou look & sound closer to his later manga design then that makes sense to me :O#still nothing's gonna affect how i choose to watch/enjoy this (lots of people were even upset for mp100s2 despite its stellar animation)#so no anime adaptation can be perfect :O#as long as they don't completely butcher his character and/or cut major things out then i'm still gonna have a fun time :)

Guess What? I‘m Not a Robot Ch40
Summary: Everyone can finally chill, take stock, talk to family. Then there’s a knock at the door.
Chapter Warnings: Mentions of injury and being shot. One (?) f-bomb.
Word Count: 1,745
09.45AM Friday 12th November 2038
She unlocked the door and let the boys in. It felt weird to back. The whole world had changed since she and Paul had left, and yet the apartment was still the same as they’d left it.
“Alright,” Megan set about introducing the place to Oscar. “Bathroom’s there, kitchen there. That door there is my bedroom and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t go in there.”
As she did this Paul went to check the taps and lights. The lights flickered on dimly but the tap made a horrible gurgling sound with no water appearing.
“We’re on generator power. Great,” Megan sighed. “We’ll just have to deal with it.”
She turned her attention to the landline phone and sighed, seeing that it was blinking with several messages. She went over to play them over one by one.
“Megan,” it was her mother. “Things sound like they’re getting pretty dangerous in Detroit. Stay safe okay? Call me back.”
The next one was also from her mom, and the next, and the next. Each one becoming more and more hysterical.
The second to last one was from her brother, saying that he’d picked up movement in his college with Android Allies and was hoping to keep protesting and harbouring androids as best he could.
The final one was actually from the Beckwiths.
“Megan dear, we hope you get this. We made it to my sister’s and Anita is safe. Don’t you worry. You and Paul take care of each other now. Okay? Stay safe.”
With a long sigh and a bit of preparation as the boys puttered around in the background, Megan called her parents.
“Megan Violet Carroll!” her mom screamed down the phone, making her pull the receiver away from her ear. “Do you have any idea how worried we’ve been?!”
“I can probably guess,” Megan spoke before she thought, and quickly realised that now was not the time for a smart answer.
“We’ve been worried sick! Especially with all the phones down. What the hell were you thinking, protesting illegally?! I never thought you’d be one to break the law! We’re booking a flight for you to come home right now!”
Megan felt sick, but did something that she felt like she needed to. “You don’t need to do that.”
“Yes I do. And I know airports make you anxious sweetheart but we’ll put that in the extra requirements and we can have someone meet you.”
“No. You really don’t have to. I, I don’t want you to.”
“Megan? What are you saying?”
“I’m staying in Detroit.”
“No you most certainly are not! The entire city’s a warzone! Buildings destroyed, people fleeing in terror-”
Megan interrupted her mother for the first time in many years. “Well I’m looking out of the window right now and not a single building has been damaged and people are leaving in an orderly fashion.”
“What about these androids-?!”
“They haven’t hurt anyone. Not a single human life was lost in this entire revolution. Detroit is safe.”
“Young lady, in case you haven’t realised there’s an evacuation order!”
“I’ve broken one law. I’m happy breaking another. See you later mom.”
“Megan! Don’t you dare-!”
Megan hung up the phone and took a deep breath to steady herself. Her stomach roiled in protest and she felt her legs wobble, but overall, she was okay.
Before her mom could call her back, she called her brother.
“Hey James,” she said after he’d picked up.
“Hi Megs, still in Detroit?”
“Yep, still on campus?”
“Just about. I hid under the bed when security came round. They don’t know I’m here.”
“Cool, I’m guessing mom demanded that you come home?”
“Oh yeah. I shut her down though. You?”
“Same here. She was not happy. How’s AA your end?”
“Pretty good. Some guys had to go home but most of us are still here. What about you? I saw you on the news.”
“Yeah. Most of us are still here. Alex was arrested. I don’t know what we’re going to do about that,” the pain killers had worn off about an hour ago, and she shifted her shoulder uncomfortably, wincing audibly.
“You okay?” James asked and Megan couldn’t bring herself to lie.
“Had a run in with the military for the protest and harbouring an illegal android. I, I got shot.”
“What?! Shouldn’t you be in hospital?!”
“What hospital? They’re all closed,” Megan rebuked. “One of the guys knows first aid and can sew. I’m stitched up pretty nicely.”
“Good, that’s good. Don’t do anything too reckless, okay?”
“You’re telling me not to be reckless?”
“Well, given what you’ve just told me...”
“True true,” Megan agreed. “How are you doing anyway?”
“Me? I’m fine. Not shot anyway.”
“I mean, mentally. Are you okay? I know this might not be a good time to talk, but...”
“...it’s okay. I’ve got other things to focus on. I’ll figure it out when everything dies down okay?”
“James,” Megan warned, feeling big sister mode kicking in.
“I’m fine. College was a bit of a shock, that was all. I’m fine.”
“Alright,” Megan sighed, not believing him but too tired to push. “I’ll call you later, okay?”
“Sure. Love you.”
“Love you too.” Megan hung up, that phone having been a lot better than with her mom. Final call was to the Beckwiths. It went to voicemail, so Megan left a message.
“Hey, just letting you know that I’m okay. Me and Paul are okay and I’m glad to hear Anita’s good. Hope you three stay safe. Don’t worry about calling back. I have a feeling that things might get a bit busy. Bye.”
Megan hung up and turned to face the rest of the apartment. Paul had moved some of his stuff from the couch so that Oscar could sit down, and the android was now pottering around the kitchen.
“Paul, what are you doing?” Megan asked.
“Making breakfast,” he replied, checking bread, bacon and eggs. They seemed to satisfy him and he got to work.
“Need help?” Megan asked, already knowing the answer.
“How about you read a book?” Paul suggested. “I’ll ask Oscar if I need help.”
Megan sighed, nodded and did as he suggested, sitting in her desk chair. It felt so good to sit there again.
There was silence for a while before Oscar broke it.
“So, now what?” he asked. “We’re just going to hole out here?”
“For the time being,” Paul replied as bacon sizzled. “We will need to do a supply run sooner or later, and deal with Alex. We should have gotten Lieutenant Anderson’s phone number, then we could have gotten him to get them out.”
“Hindsight is 20/20,” Megan commented, nose deep in her book.
Oscar shifted uncomfortably. He wanted to do something, but all he could think of was watching tv, and they were on limited power.
“Oscar,” Paul started, sensing his restlessness. “I would suggest calling your parents.”
Oscar nodded, and got up to do just that.
The whole thing was very calm, very domestic. Almost a complete contrast to the last few days. If you ignored the hand guns the boys had placed on the coffee table.
Morning soon past into afternoon, and everyone was startled by a knock at the door.
2PM Friday 12th November 2038
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at each other. Paul grabbed and cocked a gun before approaching the door and looking through the fish eye hole.
“Lieutenant Anderson?” he opened the door to reveal the titular detective.
“Finally!” he stated. “I was starting to wonder if you were even in.”
“What are you doing here?” Paul asked, angling himself so that he couldn’t see into the apartment. Or the gun he was holding.
“Thought ya might want to know about your friend. They got released today, on account of bigger fish to fry.”
“Okay, thank you for that information,” Paul responded. “It seems like you went to an awful lot of trouble for this detective.”
“Yeah, ya got me. That ain’t the only reason I’m here,” Anderson rocked back and forth on his heels. “Mind if I come in? It’s freezing in this corridor.”
Paul looked his shoulder at Megan, who nodded reluctantly. He stepped back to let in the detective.
”Damn tiny place you got here,” he commented, Paul closing the door behind him.
“It was designed for one person,” Megan’s snark was there, but was muted in the presence of a near stranger.
“I can tell,” Anderson continued to rock on his heels. “Anyway, you guys seem to be the main pro android group in the city right now, huh?”
“I, guess,” Oscar responded with a shrug. “No one else seems to be organised.”
“Exactly, and ya say this Alex is yer leader?”
“More or less,” Paul responded cautiously, wondering where this was going.
“Look, I know Connor, and I know he’s gotten in good with the deviants, so I figured that I could talk to ‘im and see if we could set up a meeting between your guys and Markus.”
Megan made a noise that sounded like a cat coughing up a hair ball, and Oscar’s mouth fell open.
“Are you certain about this detective?” Paul asked, the only one able to regain his cognitive faculties.
“Not really, but I can try. Besides, it would be good for them to meet pro android folks who aren’t politicians. Plus, you can be with other androids if ya want,” he aimed that last part at Paul, who narrowed his eyes.
“I’m not sure that I do.”
“Eh, whatever,” Anderson shrugged. “You do you. I’m just putting the offer out there. I didn’t get a chance to tell yer friend, and you’re the only other guys I know.”
“We will pass it on,” Paul assured.
“Great! Er, here’s my phone number, just in case,” since Paul was closest he handed it to him, and Paul copied down Megan’s landline and cell phone number.
“Alright,” Anderson made his way back towards the door. “I’ll, er, be in touch.”
“Thank you Lieutenant,” Paul responded, since no one else seemed to feel like talking.
“Call me Hank. This is unofficial after all,” the detective attempted a smile, and seemed to fall a little flat. “Be seein’ ya,” with that he left.
A few seconds after the door fell shut Megan stared at Paul.
“...Did that just happen?”
“Yes. I do believe that it did.”
“Fuck.”
“Indeed.”
Well, I guess Hank showed up sooner than I remembered.
I'm admittedly not too fond of where the story goes from here. It seems like a natural continuation to me, but it feels, I don't know, too convenient. At the same time, I don't know how to make it better without dragging it out, so I've left it as is. Other Options Flowchart
(Megan) Be blunt. Be sincere. Be sarcastic to her mother's worries.
(Megan) Be firm. Be hesitant. Be rude with her mother.
(Megan) Lie to James about the injury
(Megan) Press James about his mental health.
(Paul) Leave the gun.

Spirit Saga
Ch40
Chapter 39
The 3 led me to their school called Beacon I believe, it's been a while since I went to school with Ichigo, but since I can't go back there yet until I finish my trial. The Wraith told me on what her true name is, it happens to be Violetta, and I can tell that she choose me because I can do things that she can't do. I do not go overboard with what I am capable of, I am very controlled on what goes on inside of my head, Remus can agree to this because I do not let anything hold me back to a corner, I'm that strong with anything that is coming my way in a negative manor. Enava sees that I'm fine if it's just the 2 of us on a team because it would be tremendously hard for us to do what we got to do if we have other people in our team. Professor Ospin sees that when he saw just the two of us, "I must say that it's going to be tough with just the 2 of you." "We can handle anything," said Enava, "We can cooperate with each other just fine." "I'll have to see if that is true," he said. He let 2 others join us, I rolled my eyes, Enava sees this and has an idea, she whispers, "Use your red eyes to detect on who they are." I looked at her, then did it anyway, yep the other 2 are elementals, I looked back at Enava, she asked, "Are they?" I nodded, then asked Ospin, "Why did you add these two with us?" "It comes to my knowledge that maybe you can handle these 2, they most certainly will not listen to everything I say," said Ospin. I shouted at them, "Attention, front and center!!" Enava and the 2 stood like soldiers, this is the start of my team I'm guessing, then when we were led to separate rooms because I suggested if I just room with Enava, while we were getting settled in, our new members walked in, "Why did you suggest separate rooms?" "I like my space," I said, "I'm guessing so do you." "Yes but you can't just do that," said the other one. Enava told the 2, "Look, we don't know if you can be trusted with what we are doing so you are going to deal with it." I just had to leave the room, I need my space as I said to them, it helps me recharge from interacting with people. Then Ospin sees me outside of the room, "Miss Akari, may I have a word with you?" "Uh, sure," I said, not what I had in mind of recharging. He leads me to a music room, I looked at him, "So what is it?" "You are not from this world of Remnant, aren't you?" he asked, "It's alright to hide whatever you are going through from others just mind this, those 2 Jackie and Breezie, they have powers that no one here has. Jackie had mentally calmed down panicked citizens of this world, and Breezie, well, she almost caused an Earthquake and made a mountain appear from the ground." "Mind and Land," I said, "So, I pushed them away for no reason?" "You had the right to place them in another room, Enava told me that you prefer to be left alone that is why I blocked this room off just for you," said Ospin, "Not only that, here let me show you where you are going to be in the library." Alright Enava must've set me up here because this is too kind for her to do, he led me to a spot, "The music room was suggested by Enava, this spot however was set up by Jackie. Breezie has set up a private garden just for you to recharge whenever you want." Oh my, these girls must've know that I was here when I approached here and almost attacked Weiss, he sees this calming face of mine, "You must have one heck of a team that you are going to be setting up yourself. Those girls walked up when I was getting some others, they've must've known your prescene seems how every book that has fantasy Jackie set up here." "Professor Ospin," said a girl behind me. I looked she has like a goddess look to her, he asked, "What is it, Janessa? Can't you see that I'm busy?" "Let her say on what is on her mind," I said to him, then looked at Janessa, "What is it that you need from him?" "Well, I was going to say that I'll take it from here, Miss Goodwitch is calling for you," she said. Ospin sighed, "I can never catch a break, can I?" "Well, you are the Headmaster here," I said. With that, Janessa leads me to where my special seat is, I sat in it, she asked, "How is it, Lady Akari?" "Very comfortable, ah, wait, what did you just call me?" I asked her back. She said, "I called you Lady Akari, isn't that what we should call you?" "First off, how do you know about what my trial is?" I asked. She answered, "We've been waiting for someone to lead us to a brighter future." "We? Who else was waiting for me?" I asked. Janessa sees that this is too much for me to handle all in one day, "Well, there's me, Jackie, Breezie, Aspen, Fang, Jupiter, Ursa, Diamond, Isabella, Ellen, Nemesis, Maple Autumn, Frostine Winter, Spring Blossom, Susie Hazel, Summer Meadow and Enava's sister, Agatha Ember." "Wow, there's a lot of you," I said, in relief knowing that she is not going to be hunting me down. I really thought it was the case. "So, what element do you have?" I asked. She responded, "I have the power to control the Heavens of any kind." "Whoa," was all I said when she continued, "But not just the Heavens, I have the ability to also control Light and Crystal, which Gem follows underneath Crystal." "What do I control since I'm Spirit?" I asked. She answered, "Phantom and Darkness. But that's changed, you can control my power and everybody's power, and you can take it away without killing us." "Yeah, I'm waiting until I'm getting that fully under control," I said, "I have been wanting to do that to my sorry excuse for a biological father." "Talon is trying his best," said Janessa, "It's not him pushing you away, you are pushing away from him." Okay that got my attention, I'm pushing him away? How? Janessa sees this, "You expect too much from him, he never got the chance to actually come to your rescue. You always go to someone else other than him, he's trying to get you on what you doing is not what you thought he was doing." "How can you be so sure?" I asked. She explained, "He has been through a lot ever since you did that big sacrifice, he even made a list of things of you 2 doing amazing things together but when you met Ulquiorra again, he felt defeated again." I can't believe on what I am hearing from her, I tell her, "What I heard from some people, my only flaw is trying too hard." "That is not the only flaw, you are experiencing your worst fear, you hate failing on your side of the story, how does that make everyone else feel? You are making them feel powerless and defenseless ever since you started to leave everyone in the dark," she added. I can only take so much information to get the idea of what I am doing is wrong, I do hate failure which is why I always aim for perfection, she said this heartbreaking news, "Your father, he needs you more than YOU need him because now he's trying to push the thought into your head which is never replace the spot of Jushiro Ukitake, but the thought of being needed because you are his perfect pearl that was taken away from him and he doesn't want to lose you again."

When Different Paths Cross
About the Characters; Intro; Ch40
Chapter 39 So I stepped out to give Suho's doppelganger some space so he can know that he's going to be alright because I did the most insane, I untied his hands before I walked out. I went to Kai, Chen, and Baekhyun in the waiting room, Kai asked, "How did it go?" "He broke," I said, shocked them. Kai asked, "How?" "I guess it was the badge that set him off," I said, "When I took it off he calmed down knowing it was fake because I told him it was fake." "Then what's he doing now?" asked Baekhyun.
"He needs to know that he is safe and no one is going to harm him, I might've untied him because I'm guessing he has a slight fear of being tied up," I said. Baekhyun said, "He's not the only one. He was the one to escape and find someplace better. We both got caught, he got tortured the most out everyone else here." "I'm going back in there hoping he will be calm and know that he's safe," I said. Going back in there, who beat me to it was Namjoon giving him a cup of water to drink, Suho sees me and says, "Thanks for getting me out of there, and out of the mind set of being the perfect one for them."
"So, you will switch over?" I asked. He said, "I've been trying to get out of there but they won't let me be free or the others, they have trapped us." "They weren't successful with Kai," I said, "He told me that he won't break for them." "That's because he's was giving the thought that he was the brains," said Suho, "That was a mistake on their part, we need to see someone who can fix all the misplaced things they have horribly did to us." "I know someone, he can help you," I said, "But I think now it's time for me to go in the room of Chanyeol." "Just pretend that you have no idea on who he is," said Suho, "Because that is not your Chanyeol. "I know, Bunny," I said.
I left him and he said, "Thank you, Lindsey." I felt a smile from him, then I went into the lion's den, Sehun, I decided Chanyeol is going to be the last one to convince. I put the badge back on before I approached him, I finally reached him then turned on the lights, then I noticed his was somewhat above water attached to a claw. I saw a control panel that controls the claw, he woke up and asked, "Where am I?" "So, you ready for what's going to happen to you?" I asked. He looked and I lifted him up with the control panel, I stopped in the middle and pressed the button that descends the crane claw then I noticed he started to panic. Then I pressed a button that sets him down on the ground instead of the water.
I asked, "Are you okay?" "First off, take that badge off!!! Secondly, NO I AM NOT, you almost dunked me into WATER, YOU CRAZY LADY!!!" he shouted. I took off the badge, I led him somewhere safe with his hands still tied up. Then he calmly asked, "Can you untie my hands?" "I can't do that until you promise that you won't hurt me," I said. He said, "I'm not a Monster unlike our creators, they made us attack without warning." Alright, he convinced me, so I untied his hands then he led me to Chanyeol's room and said, "Go, I'll help you on how to break him, he's tough to break." "I was told Suho was going to be the hardest," I said, "I manage to break him." "How?" he asked.
I showed him the badge then said, "It set him off." "Well, that won't work with Chanyeol," said Sehun. I was too stubborn because I put it back on, and got out of his grip, "I got this, plus I know what I'm doing." "Are you sure that you are up for it?" he asked. I nodded, "I'm familiar with this situation." So, I went in and Kai had Chanyeol chained up in chains, my outfit right now was making me look like a flight attendant but aside from that. I walked into his room, walked up to him, and nudged him with my foot to wake him up.
He wakes up, sees me, and sits up quick than the original did, he asked, "What do you want from me?" "Nothing," I said, "Here let me take this off real quick." I took it off, as soon as I took it off he stood up and hugged me while saying, "Please save me! You have no idea what they are planning to do to us if we are not free by someone helping us!" "Wait, hold up! I was told you were going to be the absolute hardest to break," I said, trying to get him off, "Can you get off so I can unchain you?" "Please, I would be so grateful," he said, getting off of me finally.
So, all doppelgangers are on the good side, that's good, now I told them, "Look, we have to meet up with my pack so they could know on what's going on." "How are we going to do that?" asked Bunny, "By the way, I'm going to respond to Bunny, and also we are following your lead." "I'll respond to whatever name you got," said Sehun's doppelganger. Chanyeol's doppelganger said, "I'm fine being called well anything you can come up with." "How about being called Scorpio?" I asked. He said, "Scorpio it is then." "Sehun you are going to be called Aries," I said. He said, "Alright."
I led the 6 out in the base of BTS, Namjoon has his arms crossed and asked, "Are you going to explain on this situation now?" "Oh right, you promised," said Kai. So, I told them everything on what was going on, Namjoon said, "So, they switched over so they live their lives regularly like everyone else." "Yeah plus they were tortured, well I don't know about Kai's doppelganger," I said. Kai scoffed, "I heal quick, which was odd but hey it helps." "Yeah, but the rest of us don't got it," said Bunny, "Actually, I changed my mind about my name, can I be called Myeon instead?" "Sure," I said.
So, we went to my pack's base, EXO, then immediately got a sense of something wrong, Chennie asked, "Do you guys feel that?" "Yeah," said Baekkie. I asked, "Wait, do you guys feel that as well because I feel that as well?" "Weird," said Kai, "Maybe it means we were meant to be on this side than the other side." "You may be right because I'm eager to risk my life to protect her," said Myeon. I stopped them and noticed that they all have glowing red eyes, I said, "I know what it is, you guys still have the Red Force genetics inside of you all." "If that's the case, we need someone to fix this right away," said Kai.
Hunnie asked, "Doesn't that take away our memories of being there defeating the purpose of what they need to know?" "Shoot, you're right," said Kai. I said, "Don't worry, I need you guys to trust me on this, everything will be alright. I hope." So, I walked up where everyone was originally, I see them but they are ignoring me, again, I see Yixing walking I immediately grabbed him and pulled him. He asked, "What are you doing?" "I need your help with something," I said, "Look, I know it seems like I betrayed you guys but I didn't." "How can you be so sure?" he asked. I snapped, "Just shut up and watch to find out."
Yeol walked to me and said, "Hey, Lindsey, you left something back at the BTS base, Namjoon gave me your songbook and I think there is a new song mysteriously written here." "Wait what?" I asked, took my book and read it. I looked at Kai's doppelganger, he was giving me the most innocent look, I asked, "Nini, did you write this?" "I was bored alright, so I wanted to help you out," he said, "Plus you'll love it, I wrote from what happened to us." "Wait, what do they mean?" asked Yixing.
"They were wanting to escape but their creators wouldn't let them and tortured them," I said, "Well, minus Nini here, they were not successful trying to break him." "Yeah, our Kai is also that stubborn," said Yixing, "Anyways, what seems to be the problem?" "They want to be fixed, can you help them with their issues?" I asked. With that, he led only 5 because Nini was fine, I said, "Let's get you into better clothing." "Yeah, plus, I want to keep my glowing red eyes," he said, "For a prank I want to play." I stopped him and dragged him over to Yixing so he could get rid of only the red marks.
Suho came up and asked mean, "Why are you back?" "I never switched sides, you bimbo," I said, "They did." "Stop making nonsense and tell the truth," said Suho. Then Myeon came out and said, "I feel like a newborn human!" I looked and asked, "Do you still have those red marks?" He glowed his eyes red and nothing, I cheered, "You're free!" "Yes!" he shouted, did a little dance. Same thing with the others, I went up to Nini who was upset, I said, "Calm down, at least you still have those red eyes." "Yeah, thanks," he said, "There goes a prank I had in mind." I flicked him on the forehead, he winced in pain and I told him, "Looks like you guys have a lot to learn." "We'll follow your lead," said Myeon.
"Just as long as Yeol knows that I'm with the original Yeol," I said. He said, "I'm going to be responding to Yeol and not Chanyeol." Suho asked, "Can you explain on what in the hell is going on here? And why is my doppelganger more handsome than me?" "Oh hush," I said, "I'll tell you everything once they have a make over." After I fixed their hair, changed their wardrobe, I noticed Yixing fixed their eye-colors to what they want their eye color to be.
Once we got done, Myeon brought out a chair for me and helped me down, I said, "You don't have to do that." "I'm just trying to being a gentleman," said Myeon, "They wanted us to be arrogant, you know what Yeol said." "What did he say?" I asked. Yeol answered, "It won't last long which explains Nini's arrogance is dying down." "Is it?" I asked, looked at Nini. He was stargazing, Hunnie said, "They would never let us do other activities other than what attack plan was next." "Well, since I convinced the 6 of you to switch over, can you tell us what is happening?" I asked.
Baekkie said, "They are creating more doppelgangers, but the machine needs to be destroyed in order for them to not make anymore clones of you guys. Since you have fixed us, it won't effect us by destroying it." "Alright, you do realize that we are here right?" asked Suho. Myeon said, "Yeah but we are talking to her, not you." "Hey watch it," I said, "He's the alpha of this pack." "Oh, sorry," he said, backing down. Suho said, "This is so not right." "What's wrong?" asked Luhan, "Is it because those 6 are listening to her and only her?" "Yes, that makes her a leader!" said Suho, "I don't want to fight her!" "I'm not a leader unless they say so otherwise," I said. Nini said, "She doesn't have to, being a leader can be stressful." "Thank you!" shouted Suho, "At least someone knows the struggle of being a leader."
I asked, "So, Belle, has Elizabeth controlled her power yet?" "She's almost there," she said, "She's realizing her mistakes." "That's good," I said, "Where's Shadow?" "Right behind you," said Kimberly. I looked and there she was, she said, "You should've stayed there longer." "Are you crazy?" asked Myeon, "They will try to make a clone out of her, or worse kill her!!" "Not if she pretends to be on their side," she said, "But, I discovered that I have a sister." "Sister?" asked Nini, "We saw her, her name was Fluro right?" "Wait, what do you mean by 'was'?" she asked.
The 6 looked at each other, Baekkie said, "I hope you weren't planning on seeing her again." "They killed her?" we hear her say, heartbroken. Myeon said, "No, they didn't, they are making her becoming one of us. Meaning they are torturing her still as we speak." "Why didn't you save her?" she asked, while looking at me and Nini. Nini said, "They would've killed both me and her on the spot, I couldn't take the risk and besides they don't know that we are gone."
Then what happened next Yeol whispered something to Shadow's ear saying that she never had a sister and it made her SO angry that both Baekkie and Baekhyun immediately hid away from her. Her eyes went all black, symbolizing her dark powers, but Kensi used her shield powers so Shadow could finally calm her anger down. We all steer cleared from her because the dark can be scary, who told her that she had a sister? I looked at Chennie, Myeon, and Nini, they looked at me, I asked, "Who told her that she had a sister?" "She never had a sister that's the problem, they are making a clone by using her anger," said Yeol, "We need to calm her down because that is feeding them."
I ran into the line of fire of her rage, I shouted, "Shadow, don't give in! They are going to make a clone out of you by using your anger!" Yeah, that calmed her down quick, she asked, "Using my anger? They're making a clone out of me?" "Well, they managed to succeed halfway," said Hunnie, "We need to destory the machine that has your clone, Miss Shadow." "Since the 6 of you and myself have access to the other side, we'll try and distract the soldiers of the Red Force so we can destroy the machine," I said.
Nini said, "But once we succeed, the machine is surrounded by a huge metal shield that is very transparent like glass almost." So, we got what we needed to do, the 6 were back in their previous clothing when I first met them, all 6 are shielding me inside. So far so good nothing has happened, Nini whispered to me, "The reason why we are walking like this is so they don't detect any weird action going between the 7 of us." I got the note, basically they told me everything I need to know on how to be like them, I mean, in order to fool the Red Force soldiers I need to know everything in order to succeed.
