Patrick’s cover album is needed ASAP!!!! My fave cover of his would be also one of Prince, search nothing compares 2 you, from 2011, live performance obviously, this little man sung his entire heart out!! All of it is good, and if you laid it on a hiatus canvas it gets this extra meaning if you know what I mean 👀👀👀

patrick covered this often during his soul punk tour, and...hell yeah, anon. tiny man IS singing his heart out! if i'm being honest, though, it's actually a bit tough to watch. patrick is a master of channeling strong emotion into his singing, but...damn...there is some real, palpable pain there. it's heartbreaking.

to compare, here's patrick singing it during a medley last year:

this version (to me at least) sounds lovely...almost sweet. there's a fondness behind his tone instead of anguish.

it's similar to how he sounds when he sings "headfirst slide..." now vs. folie days. there's a notable difference in the energy behind the song. rather than gutted, he sounds triumphant. the power is coming from a different source now.
