Sonata getting AWD? 🇰🇷🔥______________________________________ [4/25/19] Hyundai is going to making major design strides with future models and they always use their Sonata to do so! Now the radically designed fastback styled sedan might be getting AWD as the demand exists and as competitors like the Altima and soon the Mazda 6 will do so! As we know the 2020 Sonata has it’s bold design from their fancy Le Fil Rouge concept with a coupe like roofline, a sharp yet sculpted body and super unique lights! Upfront the new LED lights blend into the grille with micro holes in the top chrome bit to make it seem like metal and not a light at first, and the rear they take on a civic like shape but connect full width! 🔥[@allcarnews Spec Sheet] As of now we know of two engines that could be for US market, a 1.6L Turbo 4 making 180HP and 194 lb-ft of torque and a 2.5L N/A 4 cylinder making 190HP and 180 lb-ft of torque. Other markets will get a diesel variant and a new hybrid/plugin in models are coming too! More powerful engines with close to 300HP will come later on as a Sonata N Line is conformed and potential full N models are coming! Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, coup d’œil rapide sur les Genesis G80 et GV80 et le pneu Michelin X-Ice Snow

Qu’on le veuille ou non, le monde de l’automobile est à s’électriser. La semaine dernière, je vous faisais part de mes impressions de conduite de la Chevrolet Bolt, fort probablement la voiture électrique actuellement la plus populaire sur notre marché. Ce n’est pas une auto haut de gamme comme une Tesla ou un plus ancien modèle comme la Leaf alors que la Bolt soit plutôt une belle représentation de ce que pourrait être le type de véhicule qui devrait circuler en masse dans nos villes.
Toutefois, comme plusieurs d’entre vous, j’ai encore une petite crainte envers la voiture électrique. Avant d’essayer de faire une petite balade dans la nature, je m’assure que la batterie soit à pleine charge…mais vraiment à pleine charge! Mais pourquoi suis-je encore inquiet d’un petit déplacement de Laval à Saint-Sauveur dans les Laurentides ?
Peut-être suis-je encore trop ancré dans la configuration des voitures à moteur à combustion interne? Un rapide regard à la jauge d’essence suffit à me rassurer. Il ne reste qu’un demi-réservoir? Je suis certain d’aller et de revenir de Saint-Sauveur sans problème. Avec l’auto électrique? Je passe mon temps à vérifier combien de courant il me reste!
Toutefois, je n’ai pas cette crainte avec une voiture hybride-électrique ou hybride branchable. Pourquoi? Parce que je sais que lorsque la batterie sera complètement déchargée, le moteur à essence continuera de motiver le véhicule. Dans mon cas, je crois que ce serait l’avenir, surtout les véhicules hybrides-rechargeables. Je le sais, les autos hybrides continuent de consommer quand même du carburant relâchant ainsi des gaz nocifs dans l’air. Mais ces émissions sont certes moindres que celles d’anciennes voitures à moteur à combustion. Et, évidemment, leur consommation sera moins importante. J’aime donc les véhicules hybrides. Et la semaine dernière, j’ai eu l’opportunité de conduire la toute récente Hyundai Sonata dans sa configuration Hybrid!

Les lecteurs réguliers de ce blog se souviendront qu’il y a quelques semaines, j’ai publié mes impressions de conduite de la nouvelle Hyundai Sonata. Par conséquent, je vous ferai grâce de toute la description de la caisse de cette berline intermédiaire qui, avouons-le, affiche un style très moderne et surtout très élégant, surtout pour une auto aussi abordable. Par contre, j’aimerais préciser que la calandre et le bouclier avant de la Sonata Hybrid sont distinctifs et uniques à ce modèle améliorant ainsi (un peu) le coefficient de pénétration dans l’air de la Sonata Hybrid qui est alors de 0,24 soit l’équivalent de celui de la Toyota Prius. Mais avouez que la Sonata est nettement plus jolie! Je vous ferai grâce aussi de la description de l’intérieur que vous pouvez quand même voir en photo. Si vous voulez en savoir plus, retournez à mon premier essai de la Sonata (20 octobre 2020). Toutefois, il vaut la peine de s’arrêter à l’aspect technique de l’auto dans sa version Hybrid.

Bon! La Sonata Hybrid n’est peut-être pas révolutionnaire. Mais au moins, elle est des plus modernes malgré sa présentation modeste. Sa belle robe cache des éléments techniques bien adaptés aux besoins actuels de la situation. Attention, toutefois, je ne décrierai pas une voiture de performance ici! Vous comprendrez rapidement à la lecture de ce qui suit.
Au départ, la Sonata Hybrid demeure une berline à traction avant. Son moteur de base est un quatre cylindres de 2,0 litres qui produit 150 chevaux. Il est combiné à une boîte automatique conventionnelle à six rapports (et non une boîte à variation continue CVT). Cependant, entre les deux se trouve un moteur électrique de 51 chevaux ce qui donne, après un habile calcul d’ingénierie, une puissance totale combinée de 192 chevaux (je ne saurais vous expliquer où l’ensemble mécanique perd un peu de puissance lorsque les deux pièces sont combinées…). Cet ensemble produit un peu plus de puissance (1 CV) que le moteur régulier de 2,5 litres de la Sonata et une douzaine de chevaux de plus que le quatre cylindres turbocompressé de 1,6 litres de la même voiture. Néanmoins, sa job n’est pas de gagner des courses mais plutôt d’économiser du carburant, mieux encore que l’ancienne version hybride de la Sonata de génération précédente. J’ai quand même réussi à atteindre le cap des 100 km/h avec départ arrêté en quelques huit secondes ce qui n’est pas si mal! Et si vous aimez la technologie, regardez sur le toit de ma Sonata d’essai. Ce qui semble être un toit ouvrant en verre est plutôt un capteur solaire qui, selon Hyundai, devrait donner quelques kilomètres (5 ou 6) de recharge à la batterie au lithium-ion qui sert à alimenter le moteur électrique de cette Sonata et un peu d’énergie à la batterie du véhicule. Pas beaucoup mais suffisant pour un peu plus de puissance électrique au système! Mais alors, obtient-on une consommation «extraordinaire» avec cette Sonata?

Ayant conduit l’auto dans des situations moitié urbaines, moitié autoroute, cette Sonata m’a procuré une moyenne de 7,1 l/100 km selon mes calculs à la pompe (nous en sommes au début de l’hiver avec des temps plutôt frais) alors que l’ordinateur de bord marquait 5,9 au tableau de bord. La même Sonata mais avec moteur turbo essayée en octobre dernier m’avait donné une moyenne de 9,4 l/100 km alors que le tableau de bord m’indiquait 7,3. On parle donc d’une amélioration de plus de 2 l./100 km ce qui, au niveau de cette motorisation, est appréciable (et ce, dans une période de l’année plus froide!).
Les prix des Hyundai Sonata Hybrid débutent à quelque 42 000 $ au Canada, somme à laquelle il faut ajouter les prix des options (mais de laquelle on peut soustraire jusqu’à 8000 $ au Québec). Au départ, ce prix peut nous sembler un peu élevé pour le peu d’économie de carburant que l’on en retire. Toutefois, avec le temps (et surtout avec une attitude modérée au volant bien adaptée aux situations sur la route), le propriétaire de Sonata pourra «rentrer dans son argent» surtout s’il doit évoluer en situation urbaine.
Car dans cette condition, la Sonata accélère très souvent grâce à son moteur électrique avant que le moteur à combustion interne se mette en marche. Et, la plupart du temps, les réactions sont pratiquement transparentes. L’ensemble mécanique pourrait ne donner aucun coup ni secousse lorsqu’il est en fonction si ce n’était de la boîte automatique dont les passages peuvent être un peu secs selon les circonstances. Quelques fois, j’ai senti une sorte d’hésitation entre les deux moteurs à très basse vitesse. Mais en général, tout se fait en douceur. Mais, comme je l’écrivais plus haut, cette Sonata n’est pas un foudre de guerre. Elle est rapide…mais sans plus.

La Sonata Hybrid ne connaît pas tant de concurrence vu que le créneau dans lequel on la retrouve n’est pas très peuplé. Mais, d’autre part, le consommateur nord-américain boude de plus en plus le segment des autos intermédiaires ce qui pourrait nuire à la popularité de la Sonata Hybrid. Cependant, pour celui qui aimerait participer au mouvement de changement qui s’opère actuellement dans le monde de l’automobile, voilà quand même un choix intéressant.
Premier contact avec les Genesis G80 et GV80
Vu que les constructeurs automobile ne peuvent inviter les journalistes spécialisés à des présentations de nouveaux modèles dans des endroits éloignés, ceux-ci ont choisi une alternative à la fois pratique et intelligente, celle de rendre ces grandes nouveautés disponibles à ces spécialistes dans des endroits qui leur sont accessibles. La semaine dernière, j’ai pu profiter de cette nouvelle approche en conduisant le nouveau VUS Land Rover Defender pendant quelques heures dans la région montréalaise. Cette semaine, ce fut au tour de la division de luxe Genesis de Hyundai de me permettre de conduire ses nouvelles berlines G80 à moteur V6 turbo de 3,5 litres et quatre cylindres turbo de 2,5 litres en plus de mettre la main sur les superbes VUS GV80 aussi à moteur V6 et quatre cylindres turbocompressés.

Évidemment, ce sont là de premiers contacts et avec le peu de temps dont nous disposions pour ce faire, je n’ai pu que prendre quelques photos et quelques notes afin de préparer ce premier court reportage. Je vous propose donc d’attendre quelques semaines alors que je mettrai la main sur cette berline et ce VUS au cours des premiers mois de 2021.

Toutefois, mes premiers contacts furent quand même très encourageants. Les quatre véhicules que j’ai conduits se sont avérés nettement à la hauteur de mes attentes. Il faut dire que les Genesis que j’ai conduites dans le passé m’ont semblé, dès le départ, être de véritables concurrentes de taille aux maintenant légendaires autos allemandes. Ce que j’espère, c’est qu’avec le temps, les Genesis acquerront une réputation telle qu’elles pourront rivaliser à armes égales avec ces réputées Européennes. Et surtout qu’elles auront une valeur de revente aussi grande (sinon plus) que leurs concurrentes européennes, asiatiques ou américaines !
Le nouveau Michelin X-Ice Snow à l’essai
Enfin, je viens de prendre livraison d’un jeu de nouveaux pneus d’hiver Michelin X-Ice Snow pour les faire installer sur ma berline Lincoln MKZ à traction. J’ai eu un premier contact avec ce pneu l’hiver dernier lors de sa présentation chez Mecaglisse au nord de Montréal. Croyez-le ou non, ce fut lors d’une importante tempête de neige tout comme si Michelin avait bien «stagé» le tout. Coup de chance incroyable, cette importante chute de neige nous a permis de constater l’efficacité de ce pneu (sans crampons) dans la neige profonde (répondant ainsi aux détracteurs des X-Ice 3 qui se plaignaient du manque d’adhérence de pneu dans la neige!). Mon rôle, à ce point-ci, est de vérifier si le même pneu sera encore plus efficace que le X-Ice (qui avait vu le jour il y a près de 10 ans!) qu’il remplace et ce, dans toutes les circonstances au cours des mois qui suivront!

Tout aussi chanceux, j’ai pu déjà «tester» (mais avec modération !) ce pneu alors qu’une mince couche de neige recouvrait déjà un peu les routes de la région montréalaise le jour même où ce pneu était monté par mes amis de Pneus Premier Choix du boulevard Sainte-Rose à Fabreville (d’importants complices à moi pour mes travaux sur les pneus!) . Notez que la voiture était déjà équipée de pneus Sailun d’origine chinoise qui se débrouillaient très bien dans la neige mais qui causaient une sorte de vibration désagréable dans l’auto à plus de 100 km/h. Première constatation, la vibration est disparue avec les Michelin. Ces derniers sont aussi plus silencieux ce qui sied bien à une Lincoln.
Je pourrai donc vous faire de courts reportages sur quatre types de pneus que je suivrai de près au cours des prochains (longs et froids) mois d’hiver dont les Michelin dont il s’agit ici, les Continental IceContact XTRM (qui sont montés sur l’Escape de ma femme), les Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 (montés sur l’Xterra de mon fils) et les Hakkapeliitta 9 à crampons (qui sont montés sur la VW Golf de sa conjointe). Les Michelin et Continental seront utilisés dans la région montréalaise alors que les Nokian le seront dans la région plus exigeante de l’Abitibi.

2020 Hyundai i30 N fastback Performance im Test | Der Schrecken des GTI
Ganz ehrlich. Wer hätte gedacht das ausgerechnet Hyundai mal eben einen hochkarätigen GTI Killer aus dem Ärmel schütteln würde? Hierzulande eher als konservativ angesehen haben die Koreaner ein Fahrzeug auf Basis des i30 hingestellt, welches vor allem eines repräsentieren soll - Fahrspaß! Ist gelungen, weshalb man nun zu Schritt zwei übergeht - den i30 N Fastback ! Hyundai ist in Sachen Performance kein unerfahrenes Kind, konnte sich in Europa leider nie wirklich entfalten. Das ist schade denn besonders das Hyundai Genesis Coupe war ein grandioser Sportler für den Alltag. Hyundai kann man dafür aber nicht die Schuld geben - für Premium aus dem Ausland ist man hier einfach noch nicht reif genug. Bei dem i30 hat man aber genau ins Schwarze getroffen. Denn irgendwie haben wir hier in Europa Freude daran in kompakten Autos viel Kraft auf der Vorderachse zu entlassen. Hier dominierten jahrelang Volkswagen und Peugeot doch besonders in den letzten Jahren ist die Auswahl deutlich größer geworden. Wenn dann ein Perfektionist wie Hyundai an einem solchen Fahrzeug arbeitet kann dabei eigentlich nur gutes rauskommen. Mit großem Aufwand präsentierte man 2017 den i30 n Hatchback der vom Start weg ein echter Bestseller wurde. Eben, weil nicht mit Rundenzeiten protzte, sondern primär den Fahrspaß zelebrierte. Eine Automatik ist bis heute nicht vorgesehen dafür aber einen erstaunliche guten Vierzylinder-Sound und ein exzellentes Sperrdifferential auf der Vorderachse. Lesen Sie den ganzen Artikel

Nhà giàu Hàn Quốc đổ xô sắm xe sang sau dịch
Giàu lên qua mùa dịch, giới nhà giàu Hàn Quốc đổ xô đi sắm xe sang khiến nhu cầu tiêu thụ BMW, Porsche và Lamborghini tăng vọt.
Hwang Min-yong, một doanh nhân Hàn Quốc 37 tuổi, gần đây đã tậu chiếc Porsche Cayenne Coupe đen với ghế da màu đỏ sau bảy tháng chờ đợi. Vừa nhận, anh đánh xe đến con đường tuyệt đẹp nhìn ra một con sông gần Seoul.
"Porsche đã là chiếc xe mơ ước của tôi. Tôi không thực sự cảm nhận đư���c những tác động của Covid-19, vì công ty tôi ít bị ảnh hưởng hơn", ông Hwang, người sở hữu một công ty công nghệ nhỏ, cho biết.
Hàn Quốc xử lý nhanh chóng cuộc khủng hoảng Covid-19 đã tạo ra một nền tảng cho sự gia tăng mạnh mẽ nhu cầu về xe hơi cao cấp và hạng sang. Các đại lý và quan chức cho biết, những người giàu có tại nước này đứng bên ngoài những tác động tồi tệ nhất của đại dịch. Giờ đây, họ muốn thể hiện mình trên phố.
"Năm nay sẽ là một trong những năm mạnh nhất của chúng tôi", CEO Porsche Hàn Quốc Holger Gerrmann, cho biết 5 tháng đầu năm, hãng bán được 3.433 xe, tăng 46% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái. Cả năm 2019, Porsche bán được 4.204 xe ở Hàn Quốc, trong khi doanh số năm 2018 là 4.285 xe.

Các chuyên gia cho rằng, doanh số bán ôtô nhập khẩu tăng lên phản ánh khoảng cách giàu nghèo ngày càng lớn trong đại dịch ở Hàn Quốc, nơi vốn đã có mức độ bất bình đẳng thu nhập thuộc hàng cao nhất trong các nước phát triển.
Mặc dù Covid-19 diễn ra, thu nhập trung bình hàng tháng của 20% hộ gia đình giàu nhất vẫn tăng 6% trong giai đoạn từ tháng 1 đến tháng 3. Trong khi đó, 20% hộ nghèo nhất có thu nhập không đổi.
"Doanh số bán hàng mạnh mẽ là minh chứng cho sức tiêu thụ đang gia tăng của tầng lớp hàng đầu, bất chấp đại dịch", Yang Jun-ho, Giáo sư kinh tế tại Đại học Quốc gia Incheonm, nhận định. Ông nói rằng những người giàu được hưởng lợi từ giá cổ phiếu và bất động sản tăng, trong khi lao động tại các cửa hàng nhỏ lẻ dễ bị tổn thương. Tỷ lệ thất nghiệp của Hàn Quốc đã tăng lên mức cao nhất trong hơn 10 năm vào tháng 5, theo dữ liệu của chính phủ.
Nhưng những người giàu có khả năng mua nổi xe sang giờ cũng chưa chắc tiếp cận được bất động sản, theo các đại lý. "Vào đầu những năm 2000, giá một chiếc BMW 320 bằng với giá một căn hộ tại Gangnam", Ro Chang-whan, một người kinh doanh xe đã qua sử dụng có kinh nghiệm lâu năm cho hay. Ferrari Roma
What’s New: Roma is the first car to come off an all-new modular vehicle architecture that will eventually underpin next-gen versions of the Portofino and GTC4Lusso, as well as the long-awaited Ferrari Purosange SUV. Critically, this architecture has been designed from the outset to accommodate a plug-in hybrid powertrain, though the Roma will launch only with internal combustion engine power. The 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 under the Roma’s hood makes 612 hp and 593 lb-ft, enough to scoot it from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.2 seconds, and drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Ferrari claims the best weight-to-power ratio in the class. The Roma will feature the latest version of the company’s excellent Side Slip Control, with a drift mode that uses brake pressure to adjust the yaw angles.
What’s Not: The engine is an upgraded version of the V-8 used in the Portofino and GTC4Lusso T, and the transmission comes from the SF90.

If you take a look at previous life cycles, the Honda Civic has been replaced roughly every five years—and if the New York auto show had happened in April as scheduled, we would have pictures by now. We expect the 11th generation to be completely redesigned for the 2021 model year, with new styling and technology and upgraded powertrains. Given the popularity of the coupe and hatchback, we think Honda will continue to offer those body styles, along with the popular four-door sedan. Expect to see the traditional trims first, followed by the performance-oriented Si and Type R in later year models.

What’s Not: The entry-level 255-hp, 273-lb-ft 2.0-liter turbo-four is unchanged. This engine, which shares its architecture and 48-volt mild hybrid system with the new inline-six, arrives in the U.S. with refreshes of the C-Class sedan and GLC SUV.
