The debut album from South Australian 6-piece Slowmango, who create raw, progressive, and genre-exploring grooves which combine global musical influences with a buffet of psychedelia, funk, jazz, and progressive rock. In mid-2022 Slowmango converted a picturesque shack on the Fleurieu Peninsula into a fully-fledged recording studio, where they immersed themselves for 10 glorious days and recorded their upcoming debut album Hypercolour Miscellaneous. With an array of instruments at their disposal, the band dove deep into the songs and jams they had spent the last three years writing and rehearsing across stages in Australia, emerging with a nine-track album of eclectic and fine-tuned songs which explore a diverse spread of textures, genres flavours from across the globe. Hypercolour Miscellaneous' sound is eclectic and dynamic, embracing lush arrangements which move through rhythms and make bold changes yet always manage to keep feet moving. Pulling inspiration from the deep pockets of the world, incorporating elements from reissued lost tapes of Africa and Asia, the summers of love in both ���69 and ‘89, the funkier side of jazz, and a healthy dose of improvisation.....~

Slowmango blend influences from across the globe into a sweet and savoury buffet of international groove, invoking moments of compulsive danceability and upbeat celebration, without forgetting Sunday mornings and afternoon drives. With far reaching influences from across the world, Slowmango are known for their loose-knit progressive arrangements which blend elements of early prog and art rock with African, Latin, and Arabic stylings and a healthy dose of experimentation. The group have quickly gained a following for blurring the borders between music and art - creating wildly original and highly immersive live shows and packing out dancefloors at Dark MOFO, The Lab and Darwin Festival in 2021.....~

Slowmango plays a lush music that gently takes us back to the 60s and 70s where inventive and adventurous rock reigned supreme. 'Hypercolour Miscellaneous' brings together nine unbridled tracks deftly mixing psychedelia, funk, jazz and progressive rock. Most compositions have a warm, relaxing, summery feel. From melodies to abundant brass, don't be surprised to hear, along the tracks, influences such as those of 'Blood Sweat and Tears' and the 'Chicago' of the early years of the band. It's exactly the kind of retro-prog album I like, even if it draws heavily from the key players of the 1970s Slowmango also has its own personality with more modern sensibilities, especially in the mixing and arrangements. The whole is well produced and could be expanded after several listenings. IDK if anyone will care about this but I've spent so much time thinking about wardrobe so here's some popular 90s clothes and brands I think Stu would have worn
