WIP Title Game
Rules: Make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs
Thank you so much for the tag, @mistresslrigtar !
There are four.
So you're going to hear about them ALL and if anybody wants to hear more I will junk up your brain with even MORE.
#1 Of Trust and Trickery [Ongoing]
A BotW AU as a passing wave at my Middle Eastern Studies degree. Inspired by the edition of Arabian Nights my toddler was teething on. ✊😓
So picture this: 100 years ago Link was the captain of the guards assigned to the oldest temple to Hylia, located in Gerudo.
The Sheikah and the Gerudo shared in its upkeep, with Hyrule's military providing support.
In a sweeping response to fear mongers, the King of Hyrule cut off the Sheikah's access to power based technology - prompting the genesis of the Yiga. Oh no!
But that's not all.
Their first move is to ambush the remote temple and make it their head quarters!
It gets worse!
The Yiga use Spirit Orbs to turn each guard into a compliant source of spirit power— Djinn!
Thus my genie AU was born.
🧞‍♂️🧞‍♀️🧞‍♂️🧞‍♀️
100 years later, Zelda accidentally comes across our angry blue 100 year old cat bachelor. (There's a cat, btw, because animal companions are always a plus)
Tldr; local girl discovers fox caught in fox trap, wants to help. Maybe if he can stop biting her and trying to chew his leg off for 10 seconds, she'll help him. Maybe.
#2 Taming Wild Horses / Colosseum / Arena / ????  [3 of ?? Chapters written]
Close your eyes and imagine it—
Link is a colosseum fighter and reigning champion. His whole life is dedicated to it, except in the off season.
In the off season, he's contracted out as a mercernary wherever he pleases.
SCENARIOS OCCUR and both the King & Princess experience close calls with assassins. As a temporary assignment, Link is contracted out to personally bodyguard Zelda.
Zelda, avid botanist and reportedly the most powerful Zelda in 100 years is not a lover of the colosseum, and consequently completely unimpressed with Link.
In the background, Sheikah are mysteriously vanishing, so are dead bodies, and they might be warding off a famine.
There is grief! Injury! There will be betrayal! Pining!
Tldr; A cat and a dog have to fix EVERYTHING themselves. But it's not the fixing that's the issue, it's that the other person won't just GO AWA—waitcomeback. 🥺
#3 Swept Up Botw Prince Link AU Heavy Jinshi x Maomao vibes (Apothecary Diaries) but also this is about power dynamics and FUNGUS.
Here's the setting: There has been a coup! Hyrule's royal family were all murdered! Baby girl princess survived! (Shhhh.)
But like 20 years have passed and everyone says new King Ganon is decent.
Shrug it off. Coups happen. He lets us vote about some stuff.
Link is his youngest son. Being low in the line of succession, he's never at home in the castle.
Instead, he spends most of his time fighting the war that kicked up with Hyrule's neighbors after the coup.
There's something so personal about swinging a sword, you know? You know.
His right hand man and personal secretary is Sheik, a secret intelligence officer whose *actual* job is to ferret out the princess.
But guess who raised Baby girl princess?!
Our trio of sibling Sheikah researchers: Impa, Purah, and Robbie.
Zelda's personality is more like Impa's in this. She works as a castle maid, but she knows exactly who she really is.
Tldr; standoffish pretty boy who *suffers* as a lifestyle falls for the stray cat with the broom who is having none of this. Sheik is referee.
#4 Divinity in Excelsus
So this blurb below may or may not be my only written content for this WIP.
Ahaha it IS. WE ARE LAUGHING.
This will be a Chrno Crusade LoZ AU. *Weeps openly*
Link and Zelda are exorcists from separate orders belonging to the Holy Order of Hylia.
Enemies to lovers with bullets and Urbosa and Rhoam as rival heads of the order.
All the champions are in this because I NEED them and I cannot express how much I want to write Daruk as a Holy Father during the roaring twenties and Revali as munitions assistant to Robbie, inventor of all demon-killing weaponry.
Tldr; Zelda and Link in the roaring twenties, with exorcist guns blazing and a different kind of Calamity to stop.
Sooooooo.....ooo... *throws tags like confetti*
@abbyzwrites, @needfantasticstories, @aegon-targaryen, @airplanned
No pressure to play!

1, 3, and 18 for the Meta Asks, if you would! I shall await with great curiosity. ~Rav
Rav! Hello! Thanks for the ask! I'm sorry it's taken 1000 years for me to answer. XD (Questions are from this post.) You picked some fun ones for me...
1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
Rant about my current projects?! Why, I would LOVE to. :D I have three babies that I am currently bouncing between: "Grateful" (Sky has visions), "Isn't It Worth A Little Suffering?" (Warriors vs. the Fierce Deity and Mask/Time gets caught in between), and "Little Brother" (Wind, Warriors, and Time take turns taking care of each other and being cared for in return).
They have quite a bit in common. They all contain angst but have varying degrees of hurt/comfort in them. They are also all gift fics! One is a secret Santa gift for the lovely Rae, and the other two are based on some really cool art by HylianRamen and sekiumiarashi. They are also at 1 chapter each and I promised myself they will NOT be abandoned, I WILL finish them. I just need to stop coming up with more ideas to stuff into them.
Current progress: "...Suffering" -this one lives up to its name because I am suffering. Struggling on chapter 2 and how I want the story to be told, but I have the major outlining for the whole fic done. Just have to keep pushing! I'm hoping to update this one first. "Grateful" -Have quite a few scenes written for Ch3. Ch2 is outlined. The brain is buzzing on this one, please tell it to calm down. "Little Brother" -Ch3 is actually 2/3 of the way done. Chapter 2 needs lots of love. (Is anyone noticing a pattern here? XD Are ch2s my kryptonite?) This is already getting so long so I'll try and be brief: I love "Little Brother" for the chance to write short little hurt/comfort pieces. I get to be unabashedly soft about the big bro/lil bro dynamic between these three characters and how that can change over time. It's an indulgence to write and I love it. I love "...Suffering" for the chance to flex my big dramatic angst muscles and see if I can pull off a bigger story than I've ever tried before. We'll see what happens here, but oh boy, do I have plans. :) Also getting to explore the psyche of the Fierce Deity? Yes, please. I love "Grateful" because it's my first time trying to write a Sky-centric fic that really focuses on how he fits into the group dynamic. There are a LOT of things I want to play with here: forming friendships, protectiveness at the cost of honesty, predetermined destiny, and grappling with belief. Sky is so often portrayed as most loyal to Hylia (understandably, she's reincarnated as his girlfriend), but does that make things harder, knowing her humanity? Or does it make things easier, knowing she tried her best with the power she had? What happens when gifts become burdens, and tools meant to help just hurt instead?
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
RAV, I LOVE YOU FOR ASKING THIS BUT I HAVE ALREADY BLATHERED ON FOR SO LONG. ...I'm gonna answer this one in another post if that's okay.
18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.
Question 18 was answered in this post. Kinda cheated and talked about deleted scenes and alternate endings instead of AUs. :D

The Outsider Chapter 1
Good Ganondorf x reader
Word Count: 1022
Summary: A baby left in a desert, what’s to come of it?
Note: Inspired at first by the growingupgerudo comic, then my brain kinda went wild. It’s gonna be ten chapters, so buckle up.
It was a normal scouting mission. Due to the high tensions with Hylia, it’d become necessary for the Gerudo to patrol their borders with more frequency than ever before in order to watch for trespassers. Usually, the missions turned up nothing; not many other than the hearty Gerudo to brave the harsh desert. Other than their protected cities deep in the heart of said desert, there wasn’t even anything worth stealing among the vast sands.
Nixa sighed to herself. Her leg of the mission was solo. It fell on an off day for most of the scouts, so the daily patrols were kept small. As one can imagine, it was predictably boring. The thrill of Sand Seal surfing was dulled due to the sheer monotony of the desert before her. Everything was just dull, sandy brown, nothing like the colorful jewels and fabrics of her home. Brown, brown, green, brown . . .
She shook her head, blinking rapidly as she realized she’d actually just seen something wrong. Within moments, she managed to maneuver the seal around so she could stop next to the wad of green. Closer inspection showed that the green was actually a blanket wrapped around a tiny baby that appeared to be Hylian. By that point, she was practically frantic as she looked around; enemy or not, this was no place for an innocent babe. The wind had long blown away any trace of animal tracks that could explain the origin of the child.
A quick check of the child showed that it was weak from the heat, skin hot from the sun in a way a Gerudo’s never was, but it was alive. At least for now.
“You are a resilient one, aren’t you?” Nixa murmured, adjusting the blanket to shade the child. “Youll be safe with us.”
She had already decided to take the child as her own. Hylians may act like the Gerudo were thieves and animals, but not even animals would abandon their child like this. The Gerudo warrior had to fight back a shout of sheer rage at the thought. Given her people’s predisposition to have a difficult time becoming a parent, it was unthinkable to just forsake the gift of a child. No, she would be the better person and raise the child as her own. The fact that it was cute was just an added bonus. Truly, it was a miracle that she happened upon the child at all, and years later, she would still say that it was a blessing from the Goddesses that their meeting was arranged.
From that decision, it was a rush for Nixa to return to the city. The baby needed medical attention, and Nixa had to speak to the council about the whole situation. That’s not to say that the journey back to the city was easy. No, Nixa was unused to having such precious cargo to balance in her arm while trying to steer the Sand Seal back to safety. Truthfully, she wasn’t the best at Sand Seal surfing anyway.
At the city’s little medical center, the healer was quite understanding and agreed to care for the child while Nixa dealt with the council. She was under the same mind as the would-be mother in that no infant deserved such a cruel fate as this one almost suffered, but she was convinced the baby would make a full recovery.
The council, however, wasn’t going as smoothly. The opinion on what to do was split right down the middle. Two individuals agreed with Nixa that it would be cruel to let the child simply die; the other two argued that it was the enemy and couldn’t be trusted.
“Why is this even a discussion?” a child’s voice chimed in for the first time since the meeting began. All heads turned to look at their tiny king. He was little more than a babe in his own right, but his golden eyes held an intelligence far beyond his years. “It’s a baby; it can’t be a spy or whatever.” The boy’s words were logical, if a little crudely spoken. Little Ganondorf had not yet risen to take full control of the Gerudo due to his age, but he was already well on his way. As it stood, he’d been entrusted with more than enough power to hold the final verdict over matters such as a rogue baby being found. In times where there wasn’t a male among the Gerudo, the council was a necessary evil in order to have a ruling body according to their laws. Their time was coming to an end, and Nixa had no doubt that their king overruling them was just the beginning of their fall from power until his own demise.
“My Lord--”
“No. We’re not going to let it just die.” His words left no room for complaint. “Besides, it could be useful as a negotiator or something when it’s older. Maybe those people will listen to someone that looks like them. Nixa, you will raise it just like you would one of our own, because as of today it is.”
“Thank you, sir.” She hoped he could sense the full depth of her gratitude behind the mask of moderate indifference required by this court. Based off the way he met her gaze evenly and nodded slightly, he did.
Nixa was fully aware of how lucky she was that the king agreed with her. Had it been put to vote with the rest of the tribe, she was unsure of how it would have fallen; the safety of their own might have outweighed any compassion. His point was valid, though, and she was impressed that he thought of it when even she didn’t consider it. Maybe the child could be their mouthpiece to the Hylian king. Maybe it would be the catalyst for the Hylians to finally stop seeing the Gerudo as lowly thieves. Maybe this little one had a destiny so great that no one could yet comprehend it. Maybe . . . But those concerns were for later, years down the line. Now she just had to do a decent job as a parent . . .

Chapter 3- Basically plot part 2
As the sun rose in the sky, the heroes stirred from their slumber and began to filter out of their rooms, all with the exception of three. Laughter and a groan were heard from the room that housed the other three companions.
Wind was about to volunteer to see what was going on with the other three when Warriors came out of the room struggling to contain a fit of laughter.
“Baby faced boy!” before all other words were lost to laughter.
As the others rushed to the room, they were met with a concerned Hyrule speaking to a mass under the blankets.
“Wild, it’s not bad! Just come on out.”
A muffled no was heard.
“What’s going on?”
“Warriors hasn’t stopped laughing.”
Off in the distance, the cackling continued as broken words of apology spilled from the young man.
“Shut up,” came the muffled reply.
“It’s just… Wild has regressed and-”
The small mass moved, “Don’t you dare say it.”
“His voice cracked,” Hyrule whispered to the group.
A groan just resounded with the blankets.
“Wild, it’s okay! Just come on out.”
With a sigh of resignation, Wild removed the blankets and stared at the other six. Messy blond hair accompanied a disgruntled face.
“Pfft… Baby face! I’m sorry. I need to go.” Legend left to go join Warriors outside.
Wild just deepened his glare. Baby blue eyes soon landed on the other five. Smiles of varying degrees were observed. “Just out with it, will you.”
“You are so adorable!”
“Honestly, it isn’t that bad. You still are you, cub… Just younger.”
“I look stupid!” Eyes became wide. Snorts of laughter left some and Wild just hid. “My voice sounds so stupid!”
Despite Time being amused, he gingerly placed his hand on the mass under the blankets. “Your voice cracked. We all went through that.”
“Yeah, Wild. I sometimes go through that myself. But you look pretty neat though! And don’t mind the baby face. I also suffer from the syndrome as well.”
“Okay, okay. Can you please leave? I’ll get ready so we can see Impa.”
As everyone left, Twilight stayed behind, “If you need help, just call out, okay?”
Scoffing, Wild became offended, “As if. Now get out of my room.”
“Bossy, bossy. We’ll be waiting for you.”
----
Legend and Warriors waited for the others as they regrouped nearby.
“I shouldn’t have laughed. But the way his voice cracked made me lose it. Normally I don’t let things get to me, but it was just different. I guess it was the baby face that did me in.”
“He’s not ready to go?” Legend looked around.
Before anything else could be said, the sound of a creaking door grabbed the attention as eight heads swiveled around to see a meek-looking face peering from the side.
“Twi? I need help.”
-----
Exiting out of the inn, Legend commented, “Oi, didn’t your clothes shrink with you or something?”
The boy harbored his usual garb, minus the boots. His champion tunic hung off of one shoulder and his pants were rolled up and a piece of torn fabric looped around the belt loops to keep the pants somewhat in place.
Looking Legend up and down with a glare, Wild responded, “Wouldn’t you and your pasty knees like to know.”
Laughter erupted from almost everyone.
Flabbergasted, Legend became offended. “You leave my knees out of this, brat!”
He only earned a stick of the tongue. Legend had to be held back by Sky before he smacked the young boy upside the head.
Upon arriving at the grand home, two sheikah guards stood at attention and blocked the entrance to the staircase with their weapons. Shoving the others aside, Wild came up to the two men.
“Hey guys! I’m here to speak with Impa. It’s for important business. And these guys are with me.”
Upon looking at the young boy, both men saw the sheikah slate hanging by a piece of fabric- at the demand of Wild to Twilight.
“Ah, Master Link! Apologies. We have been notified by Impa to be expecting your visit. We did not recognize you at all.”
“As stated, please step on inside. Impa awaits your visit.”
“Thanks Cado, Dorian! Come on guys!” Wild began making his way up the stairs as he held on to his loose pants and looked behind him as the others all filed along and followed after the smaller boy. Upon reaching the grand doors, Wild adjusted his pants once more and pushed the doors open, allowing himself and his companions to enter along.
“Ah, young champion, I have been awaiting your arrival,” an old voice called out. “So there was truth to what Purah had said. You do not look a day over ten.”
“I assume Purah has told you everything there is to know?”
“Indeed I have been made aware of the unfortunate incident that has befallen you. It has been such a long time since these old eyes seen such a young lad.” Impa hadn’t missed the bashful smile that graced Wild’s features. “But I must ask how you have been feeling so far, young hero?”
As Wild began to delve into how he had been feeling, soft footsteps took the attention of the others in the room as a young sheikah woman made herself known.
“Grandmother? Has Master Link arrived yet?”
She stopped at the footsteps and her bashful nature took over as she noted the others who were in the room.
“Ah! I-I’m sorry! I didn’t r-realize our guests were here al-ready!”
“Paya!”
A gasp left the woman as she was soon overtaken by a hug from a young boy. Looking to her grandmother, she received a nod from the elderly woman and realization dawned that the young boy hugging her was the champion she deeply admired and low-key crushed on.
“M-Master Link! S-so good to s-see you!” She couldn’t help but hug back awkwardly.
“Paya, why don’t you accompany the young champion and get him at least a set of clothes that will properly fit him. Link, here. This should be enough to buy you something.”
“Such kindness you harbor for me, oh great village chief. Thank you.” Taking the rupees, Wild immediately ran to Paya, grabbing her hand and leading her outside with such energy that the poor young woman did everything to not trip over her own two feet.
The smile soon faded from Impa as she directed her gaze back to the others in the room. “Purah tells me that there were instances that he recalls memories of long ago. What has he said or what has he shared?”
Both Warriors and Hyrule looked at one another.
“Well, when we arrived at the dead of night at the inn, Wild, I mean, Link, was just exhausted. Swaying as if he spent days with no sleep.”
Hyrule continued, “He just started responding to someone or something. Something about flowers and how he needed to go see you. I tried to bring it up this morning, but he had no recollection and was angry.”
“Angry? Because of his predicament or because of something else?”
“Well, you see,” Warriors became a bit meek, “I laughed at his voice. It just cracked. I don’t know why it made me laugh, but it did.”
“I see. But nothing else?”
All heads shook.
“Just to clear things up, Purah did let you know that his behavior would change, correct?” all heads nodded. “The display of affection was not of his character. At least it hasn’t been since a while. I know questions are whirring in those minds of yours, but do not utter them. Those conversation pieces you heard last night must be from his young life that is bleeding into his current memories.”
“So you say that it’s not just behavior that would change but memories will  surface?”
“Aye. how far and to what extent is truly unknown. I pray to Hylia above that it is not harsh on him. I do have one major concern for him. The Yiga.”
The room became cold. Time swore his breath could be seen. “There has been mention of that group.”
“A group of assassins whose goal is to murder the Hylian champion for the blood spilt from their lord and master. With the defeat of the Calamity, the pursuit of the hero has decreased some, but not enough to stop completely. Link is not out of danger. I am aware of the switching of worlds, but I urge you all to use caution when you are in this world.”
“I think we can manage,” spoke Time.
“I believe it to be ideal to pick and choose names when in the company of strangers. I do not believe titles would be wise as the Yiga are aware of the title of the champion. The only ones who are currently aware of Link’s condition are a select few. Zelda has also been notified. But I have a feeling that you lot will not be able to see her as the goddess has a timer currently set.”
“We will be careful. Thank you for that. And we will be taking good care of him, worry not.”
“Thank you.”
And at that moment, the doors opened as the young woman before stepped in, “I’m s-sorry… Master Link demands you all join him and Koko for breakfast.”
Standing up and dusting himself, Twilight turned his attention back to Impa. “I believe that is our cue to leave. You have our promise to watch him safely.”
“May Hylia above grant you patience and strength. He was a wild child.”
“I freaken knew it...”
-------
Exhaling a breath, Paya looked to her grandmother. “He was such an endearing young boy. So energetic and lively.”
“He wasn’t always like that. Younger? Yes. But it felt like eons since I saw that energy once again.”
“It must have been nice to see once more. You were very kind to give him some rupees. He was able to purchase a hylian tunic set. He was a little embarrassed to have asked for assistance in measurements, but he was so elated. He claimed it to be a gift from the ‘Great Village Chief’. He would have thanked you, but he saw Koko cooking and wanted to help prepare a meal for his companions before he demanded I come get them.” Paya could help but laugh as the memory of the small Hylian puffed out his cheeks to come get the others.
“What’s the matter, Grandmother?”
“I have been filled with such great sadness, my dear granddaughter. Those rupees were a mere gift to slowly attone for the sin I have committed against the young champion. I cannot help but fear a storm is brewing. I just hope they all exercise caution.”
Paya wanted to inquire for more. But she did not. Nor did she want to worry her poor grandmother over an acclaimed suspicion of a merchant that both her and Link encountered. Paya, like other sheikah, has been wary of outsiders that come to visit Kakariko. But that one merchant just sent shivers down her spine. There was no time as Link pulled her inside the Enchanted Armour shop, losing sight of that merchant. But it must have been her nerves.
Before she could excuse herself, Cado came bursting in, followed by Dorian.
“A dark portal appeared and Master Link with his companions all went in!”
“The portal then disappeared and there is no trace whatsoever of the young master!”
“Calm yourselves. If it were a dark source of energy, I would have been out the door praying and creating a barrier of some sort, would I have not? It was the will of the goddess that that portal appeared there. You may go in peace. You are also excused, Paya.”
Finally alone, Impa began to pray, “Hylia above, watch over them.”

SO REPLAYING HYRULE WARRIORS BECAUSE SWITCH EDITION has reminded me a lot of all of my little headcanons about Link and the various characters in the Legend of Zelda series. So I’m gonna just spam things here and now because why the hell not? I’m a bit exhausted, feeling sick, my headache has been going off the rails between nice and making me nasueated enough to throw up, so yeah. This is how I feel better.
I’m going to start with the earliest of Link’s and just go down my list....this won’t include ALL Link’s because I really have to think of them and remind myself of them, but more of the Link’s I like and loved playing with.
Proto-Link we don’t know much about this sad man aside from the fact that Hylia is a creepy stalker who tortured him to make him malleable to her cause. Before all of that I figure he was fairly talkative to the people he felt close to--not quite to the stage of later Link’s that grow selectively more and more mute as the stress hammers down on them. I also believe this Link really loved his people. He accepted his fate and still desired to get them to safety. He’s also one of the tiredest of Link’s because of it.
Post Hylia-induced trauma I feel like Proto-Link became more quiet to almost ceasing to speak altogether. This is also one of the few Link’s I headcanon as grey-ace.
Skyward Sword Link is a little shit. Like this boy will talk a mean talk and give as good as he gets. He doesn’t start to reach that Link stoicism until his long journey by his lonesome. I think he really thinks he’s in love with Zelda, but that he doesn’t quite know what that means at the same time. Honestly I see this Link as more a biromantic young man with gay leanings. Like have you SEEN how he reacts to Ghirahim? Boy’s not straight. Not completely. But yeah he’s attached to Zelda at the hip.
I actually feel like this out of all of the Link’s gets very political in helping Zelda build up Hyrule as a Kingdom and less a few islands in the sky. I feel like he travels around a lot, eventually opening up to people, but he get’s pretty tired easily because he doesn’t like fighting. He also suffers major nightmares.
Ocarina of Time Link. This boy. THIS BOY. This little forest manchild that skipped puberty is the most, the biggest child I see as primarily selectively mute. I also headcanon him as in some ways as either abused by the Kokiri (accidental because he’s Hylian and their Kokiri so they just don’t know, or on puporse because they are Farore’s people and Link has A Destiny for the Goddesses that he needs to be a specific way for) He’s the quietest of the Link’s but really grows into himself as time goes on. I honestly see this Link as pseudo-masochistic, heavily sarcastic when he does start to speak, and a sass-master galore. He’s also like straight up just bisexual (Malon, Zelda, Ganondorf, Shiek...all these people should stop being attractive, especially when Link later learns that ZELDA IS HIS SISTER THIS IS NOT COOL) and definitely has some development issues he has to deal with because of how he was raised.
Navi helps pull him out of his shell, but she’s not exactly the greatest being to be doing so. I mean...I kind of see Navi is almost straight up insane so, there’s that. He did have a kid crush on Saria but he grew out of that eventually. He’s also scarily codependent about Navi down the road given all they went through.
This Link also...well, Zelda accidentally erased him from history when she ‘sent him back’ so there’s that.
Wind Waker Link to me is not Link. This feels more like Collin from Twilight Princess given the mantle of Link and fits a little nicely with the whole ‘when Ganondorf broke free Link wasn’t there to save the day’ shit, since, y’know--there’s precedent for Link saving the day. Plus the Triforce is broken which to me can only happen between a mix of things. Either it was removed from Link forcefully, which he can see is possible in later iterations, or Link was removed from time (hence my whole idea about Link being accidentally erased by Zelda)
Twilight Princess Link / Majora’s Mask Link I feel are both the same Link and post Ocarina of Time Link. Like Link’s search for Navi and eventual ended up in Ordona is all tied together. He’s quieter in Twilight Princess and post Majora because Majora broke something in him. He lost Navi. Not only did he lose Navi he was forced to relive three days over and over until he fixed what was broken. Majora Link was aged weirdly because of this, then there’s the masks and--yeah. Is it any wonder he decided to forget?
The old skeleton thing I feel like is actually Link and Zelda’s dad from OoT who searched for baby Link after the Queen vanished into the forest and--there’s a whole reason why that is. Ask and I’ll be happy to go more in depth. I don’t feel like that guy is a prior Link. Doesn’t feel right.
Also totally in love with Midna.
Hyrule Warriors Link is gay as all hell. He pegged Shiek as secretly Zelda from the get go, doesn’t understand why all these girls are after him, is mostly very soft spoken, and finds himself weirdly attracted to all of his enemies somehow (Ganondorf, Ghiarhim, Zant...he doesn’t get it)
Breath of the Wild Link is canonically selectively mute and we have an explanation for why--the stress of it all. He’s also, to me, irrevocably in love with Midna and sees Zelda as a maybe-friend post everything. I don’t see this Link getting it on with anyone else. He also tends to be a bit flexible about his gender which is why he has no issues with the whole Gerudo-styled-clothes thing. I also feel like this Link is way post Hyrule Warriors primarily because the Triforce isn’t a thing that’s like stressed anymore? It’s not important, it doesn’t tie him and Calamity Ganon together--it just isn’t a THING. Instead Zelda’s connection to her Goddess blood is, and the sword that speaks to the chosen hero--and then there’s Calamity Ganon himself and just--the whole thing screams far, far future.
Far enough that the Shiekah grew to be technologically advanced AGAIN, and then lost it all, AGAIN. That’s pretty fucking far, ok?! Plus there are other reasons why I see this and why I view this Link in this manner.
Those are all the Link’s I feel like discussing right now. If you’re interested in my convoluted Legend of Zelda headcanons--beyond even Link! I have plenty!--ask away. I always like to share, but I prefer to know I’m not shouting into the void with it.
