hyejoo has a little bit of difficulty when she has to choose her crystal. given that they're crystallis, it only makes sense that they would do this, and she feels like it'll be nice to be able to customize it and make things a little bit personal. any time idol groups do things like this, she feels like the fans appreciate it and really take it to heart, which is why hyejoo thinks she needs to put a lot of thought into what gem she chooses.

and plus, she doesn't know if maybe this choice will be used for future contents, and she wouldn't want to choose incorrectly and to be stuck with it for the foreseeable future.

since she was born on the first of january, she felt like it was only fitting to use the january birthstone as her gem. she always felt like her birthday was meaningful because it brought in the new year, and it felt special to her.

but when she looked at the garnet, there was something about it that just didn't really seem like her. it's a dark red color that feels mature, and she felt like it contrasted with her light and soft image. if she chose the red garnet, the fans might think it didn't suit her so she didn't want that one even if she did like the color.

so she thought maybe going with her official color would be better, but the amethyst didn't seem to fit her completely either. so when she saw that there was a purple garnet, she immediately felt like that was the one. garnets symbolized protection, friendship, and trust, and even though it's not one of the harder gems, it's still strong enough to sustain daily wear. and even though hyejoo might not seem the strongest out of crystallis, she feels like there's an inner perseverance that will see her through the toughest of times.

as soon as she saw the concept for crystallis's season's greetings this year, she immediately knew it was something the fans would like. as much as hyejoo herself would like to try something different, she feels like their fans like their princess image and girly, sparkly songs, so this should be right up their alley. and she likes the concept as well — even if it's one they've done many times, and even if she would like some variety, she knows it's something they can do well and get good responses.

plus, she's not the company, so it's not like she would have any say in things anyways.

she loops her elbow around somin's as they walk around. somehow the two maknaes always find themselves off exploring while the others are doing things. maybe it's the young energy, or maybe her and somin just get bored more easily, and as soon as she looks at the table of tiaras she could immediately picture what the photos would look like. it would be a group of pretty girls, but now even prettier.

"mine is the purple one." she says, pointing to a tiara near the middle. "i was deciding if i wanted to do my birthstone, but it's a dark red and i felt like it wouldn't suit me? so i went with my color." she resists the urge to reach out and touch the tiara, because she doesn't want to mess anything up and god forbid she accidentally touches it and somehow breaks it. "which gem did you pick?"

a season's greetings starter for @lgchyejoo

she can never quite decide if she loves the concepts that they're given for their season's greetings or not. while they're always fun and fit the crystallis image very well, sometimes she thinks that it would be interesting to do something that's vastly far from their image—a swap with fabula could be fun, but she knows it probably will be a long time before that happens.

either way, she's very excited to have unit photos with hyejoo and yura this time around.

she loves all the girls in group, but she's been friends with hyejoo and yura for the longest. and it's great that hyejoo is in the maknae line with her, so they get paired up often enough.

"i still think it's fun that they let us pick crystals for our tiaras," somin comments once her turn at the makeup table if over and she's been given permission to roam around as long as she doesn't mess up her dress or her makeup or hair or whatever. "like i get that we're called crystallis but it's still fun, you know?" she glances at the row of tiaras laid out, no doubt to be added to their heads.

"which one is yours?"
