ok so many years ago i was deeply obsessed with C64 music and oldskool chiptune in general and i was/am a BIG BIG BIG tim follin fan and one of my favorite works of his was the C64 version of bionic commando (the arcade game, not to be confused with the NES title); the soundtrack is mostly arrangements of the original arcade tunes (though with a few creative liberties) EXCEPT for the title track (a series of percussive ring-modulated synthy sounds) and, more notably, this song:

now what's notable about this song is that, on the HVSC (a very well-archived collection of C64 music with tons of cool info to read), the accompanying notes had this to say about it:

now, at the time, if you tried searching up this song, album or band, you would not be able to find ANYTHING, and i mean ANYTHING. years passed and while i was revisiting some of these tunes i decided to do another search and lo and behold there was a discogs page for the album right at the top of the results, and with a few copies being sold, no less! unfortunately, despite the record being fairly cheap for being so rare (AGAIN, I AM ONE OF ELEVEN KNOWN OWNERS OF THIS ALBUM) i didn't own a record player at the time so i had to pass it up. a few more years pass by, i HAVE a record player now, i have MONEY, i BUY the album, i listen intently and...

well, it's very good 80s jazz fusion but the track La Lengua doesn't even sound that much like the above BioCom tune, it turns out, and this was a completely unsourced claim to begin with and it's impossible to find out where said claim came from! woohoo!

but the album is good and im glad that i own it still :)
