Send Me Something :D
• Mingyu loved being a husband just as much as he loved being a dad.
• He was living his dream life. Beautiful wife, beautiful daughter, nice house. He wouldn't have it any other way.
• He wouldn't pay mind to those who judged him for choosing to stay home and take care of the house while you went to work. He still supported you two with some side investment money, but he wanted to be the most supportive husband and dad he could.
• All the other mothers would be jealous of you. How on earth did you find that sexy of a man who was willing to do house chores AND take care of the kids AND was just as in love with you before you got married.
• But they just didn't understand that Mingyu was a giver at heart and thrived over taking care of his family. It brought him more happiness than anything else could.
• And how could he not be in love with you? You brought him the most amazing daughter in the entire world and he would always feel the need to repay you for bringing him that happiness (even if you told him over and over that he didn't need to thank you for having a kid with him).
• Mingyu was the cutest husband, greeting you with a warm hug and kiss every time you came home, grabbing your bag for you and telling you to unwind while he finishes up the dinner that him and your daughter were preparing (she wasn't actually helping but she thought she was and that's all that mattered).
• He'd glare at you if you even dared to help him do the dishes, telling you that you didn't have to clean up after a long day at work since it was his self proclaimed job.
• But he'd pout and eventually give in to your push back because he did enjoy your company.
• You two would be washing dishes side by side, him doing the washing and you drying the plates as he passed them off to you while your daughter sat on the counter giggling and playing with the dish soap bubbles.
• Mingyu would be very attentive to your needs as well as your daughter's needs. Anything you needed or were running low on would "magically" appear the next day. Any holes in clothes would be patched up before you could even complain about having to buy a new pair. Anything broken (he probably broke it with his tall ass smh) would be fixed without you having to remind him.
• You never needed to waste money for lunch at work because your loving husband would always prepare a meal for you and his daughter to take before the two of you woke up.
• His alarm...would probably wake you up but he'd press a kiss to your forehead and shush you back to sleep before checking on your daughter
• Because your daughter spent so much time with him, she'd probably pick up a few of his habits which always warmed your heart.
• She had his smile, his laugh, his adorable pout that was hard to say no to (you have to be the strongest soldier fr to say no to not only your puppy of a husband but your adorable daughter)
• Mingyu loved spending quality time with his daughter. He knew she would grow up eventually but he'd always have these memories to cherish and look back on.
• It was quite the sight to see coming home from work sometimes to see your 6 foot 2 buff husband dressed up in one of your maternity dresses (probably the only ones that would fit his big ass body) with... questionable makeup on his face while he played princess with your daughter who was clearly having fun with her dad all dressed up.
• Once he noticed you watching, he wouldn't be embarrassed. Instead, he'd have the sweetest smile on his face as he picked up your daughter to carry her to you, the both of them pressing glossed kisses to both of your cheeks.
• But as much as your husband was this tall teddy bear of a man, you never forgot about his duality although it did always amaze you.
• Mingyu liked to keep in shape, not for aesthetic reasons, but he wanted to make sure that his growing age didn't hinder anything he needed to do for you and your daughter. Maybe there were a few shallow reasons for him staying so buff, but he still loved looking good for you after all these years and he knew you appreciated how sexy he was. He loved how proud you got when introducing him to others. He loved how turned on you'd look over the most basic tasks he'd do just because his muscles would flex in his shirt.
• Mingyu was the sweetest husband and father but he also was just just a man at times and couldn't help himself as he snuck in a few "innocent" touches while your daughter was distracted.
• Luckily your daughter couldn't hear all the filthy things he'd whisper in your ear as he gave you back hugs.
• But your daughter would be concerned when you'd let out yelps whenever your touchy husband playfully smacked your ass while your daughter was playing.
• "Princess, what's wrong with mommy? She's been acting weird lately." Your husband smirked at you before feigning concern for you in front of your daughter.
• You weren't complaining though, you loved how Mingyu still found you sexy after all these years and how he had no problem showing it and voicing it.
• Especially when he was balls deep inside you after the two of you read your daughter to sleep.
• "God damn, you're so fucking sexy, baby. Fuck—your pussy's so fucking good," he moaned out, his hips slamming his cock deep into you as he took you from behind, his strong hand pushing you down on your stomach while the other pressed against your head to muffle your moans in the pillow.
• "We can't be loud, Y/N. You wouldn't want to wake up our little princess, right? Fuck, shit—I've fucked you hundreds of times, how are you still this fucking tight."
• He'd quicken his pace, fucking into you so hard it was pretty much guaranteed that you'd be walking funny the next day.
• After making you cum around his cock and burying his face into your neck as he emptied himself inside of you. He offered to clean up the cum inside of you with his mouth (again how could you say no) and giggled as he watched how your eyes could barely stay open after multiple orgasms.
• "Let's go to bed, baby."
• It always amazed you how your husband could easily slip back into the loving, clumsy, puppy husband and father role as if he didn't fuck you into the mattress the night before.
• He'd have the brightest smile on his face as he listened fondly as your daughter raved about her new drawing while Mingyu was cooking up breakfast for the family.
• But he'd have his moments in between where he'd let that innocent imagine down, whispering into your ear as your daughter started a new drawing at the table.
• "Baby, you might wanna fix how you're walking, our little princess was asking why Mommy was walking so funny and I can't exactly explain that I fucked her sexy mommy until she came six times." He sent you a wink before turning to your daughter with another bright smile as he brought the plated breakfast to the table.

tickling your sides — kim mingyu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: husband!mingyu x wife!reader
genre: comedy, fluff
summary: just mingyu being a teasing fuck as always.
You both lay on the bed, limbs tangled beneath the warmth of the duvet, the soft glow of TikTok videos flickering in the otherwise dark room. The gentle buzz of the phone mixes with the quiet of the night, creating a perfect sense of calm.
Your freshly shaved, smooth legs are nestled against Mingyu’s, the contrast between his hairy, muscular leg and your glazed-donut-soft skin making the difference all the more noticeable.
You feel his presence so vividly, his warmth radiating off his body and onto yours.
Mingyu’s large frame dominates most of the bed, his arm lazily resting behind his head while the other one holds his phone, scrolling through mindless content. You’re watching too, giggling at the random videos, when suddenly you feel it—his foot brushing against your leg, then retreating like it didn’t just happen.
The ticklish sensation makes you twitch, but you ignore it, assuming it was an accident.
A couple more videos play, but then, it happens again—this time with more intent.
His hairy leg lightly swipes across your smooth skin again, teasingly. You look over at him, already knowing he’s got that mischievous glint in his eye. He’s acting like he’s completely focused on the screen, but you know better.
“Mingyu, stop,” you say, your tone a mix of amusement and warning.
He chuckles but doesn’t look at you, still pretending he’s interested in whatever TikTok is on. “What?” he says, completely feigning innocence.
You roll your eyes but let it go, settling back into the comfort of the bed. The video on his phone switches to something else, and you relax, thinking the moment has passed. But then, without warning, his hand sneaks under the blanket and his fingers brush lightly over your side, right under your rib cage—the spot that always gets you.
You flinch immediately, your body reacting before your mind even registers it, and you squirm away from him, a laugh escaping your lips despite yourself. “Stop it, Mingyu! I’m serious!”
He’s grinning now, full-on amused with himself, his deep, low laughter rumbling in the quiet room. “I didn’t do anything,” he says, but the mischievous glint in his eyes tells a different story.
You give him a warning look, still smiling though, and try to focus on the phone. But, predictably, his hand moves again, this time poking your side more deliberately. His fingers dig lightly into your side through the blanket, and you jump again, letting out a half-scream, half-laugh.
“Mingyu!” you shout, swatting at his hand as you try to wriggle away from him under the covers.
He’s laughing harder now, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he enjoys every second of your reaction. “I’m just keeping you awake,” he teases, pulling his hand back but clearly not ready to stop.
You give him a playful glare, shifting away from him slightly, but you know it’s only a matter of time before he tries again. And, sure enough, after a few seconds of calm, his hand darts out one more time, and his fingers find your side yet again, this time really going for it. The blanket muffles your squeal as you try to wriggle away from his grasp, but it’s no use. He’s got you pinned.
“That’s it!” you exclaim, pulling yourself up slightly. “I’m not sleeping with you anymore!”
Mingyu raises an eyebrow, still laughing as you dramatically try to yank his pillow out from under his head. You grip it with both hands, determined to show him you mean business, but his muscular body barely moves. You pull harder, but his strength is no match for yours, and the pillow doesn’t budge an inch.
He’s laughing even more now, his deep, booming laugh filling the room as you struggle to pull the pillow. “Oh, come on!” he says between breaths, clearly entertained by your effort. “You really think you can take my pillow?”
You let out an exaggerated huff, giving the pillow one last pull before finally giving up. “You’re so annoying,” you mutter, sitting back down with your arms crossed, still glaring at him.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry!” he says, still chuckling but trying to sound sincere. He sits up slightly, holding his hands up in surrender. “I won’t do it anymore, I promise.”
You raise an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. “God promise?”
He bites his lip, trying to hold back a grin. “God promise,” he repeats, his voice dripping with faux sincerity.
You eye him suspiciously for a moment before deciding to trust him. “Alright then,” you say, settling back down beside him. You both shift under the blanket, the mood calming down as you cuddle closer, your head resting against his shoulder.
For a few minutes, everything is peaceful again, and you let yourself relax, thinking that maybe—just maybe—he’s actually done messing with you.
But of course, this is Mingyu. Just when you think the teasing is over, you feel him shift beside you, his hand moving under the blanket again. You tense up immediately, eyes wide as you turn to him.
“Mingyu…” you warn, your voice low but sharp.
He grins at you, eyes sparkling with mischief. “I didn’t even touch you!” he says, his voice full of fake innocence as his hand hovers just above your side, threatening to tickle without actually doing it.
“Mingyu, I swear!” you say, swatting at his hand, but he pulls it back before you can make contact. You narrow your eyes at him, fully irritated now, but also unable to stop the smile creeping onto your face. “You said God promise!”
He shrugs, that grin still plastered on his face. “I didn’t break it. I didn’t even touch you.”
“You’re impossible,” you groan, rolling your eyes but unable to stop laughing as you nudge him with your elbow.
“I didn’t break the promise!” he protests, leaning over to nuzzle his face into your neck, his deep voice vibrating against your skin. “I’m innocent!”
“Yeah, right,” you mutter, still trying to act annoyed but your resolve weakening as you feel his warmth against you.
“Come on, don’t be mad,” he murmurs, his voice soft now, teasing fading into affection as he pulls you closer, wrapping his arms around your waist.
You sigh, giving in as you let yourself relax into his embrace, feeling the familiar comfort of being close to him. The irritation fades quickly, replaced by that cozy, warm feeling that only he can give you.
“I’m still mad,” you say, but your voice is softer now, no real bite behind it.
Mingyu laughs quietly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Sure you are.”
The two of you fall back into a comfortable silence, the warmth of his body enveloping you as you drift off together, TikToks forgotten as the night settles in around you.

๑彡 title is taken from zack tabudlo’s as you are.
๑彡 i’m lowk proud of this ngl bc— it’s fluff, but it took me relatively quick to finish?? usually i get stuck for weeks if the wip’s fluff ><
Kim Mingyu is a man of confidence.
Not that he uses his confidence to swindle strangers, as the dictionary suggests the title means. Rather, he exudes confidence — regardless of what he does.
There is always an air confidence around him. He can be in clothes that don’t fit the event’s theme and he’ll still seem perfectly dressed. He can be barely conversant in another language and he’ll still sound like he knows what he’s saying. He can just be standing there, doing nothing, and he’ll still appear like he’s doing something right.
Some people mistake his confidence for arrogance. Most find it admirable. But, in truth, Mingyu hardly cares.
Especially if his so-called confidence vanishes whenever you are in the vicinity and within his line of sight. Just like now.
He sees you in a table with Seokmin. Your back is towards him but he recognizes you, anyway. Despite the distance, he has no problem witnessing how animatedly you talk with your common friend.
It’s almost like he is back in college: you and Seokmin in one row, him and Minghao a few rows back. He can almost hear Minghao state matter-of-factly, "You’re staring," like he often does back then.
Really, all that’s different is Minghao’s currently preoccupied being the groom to comment on his staring. (There are definitely more things that are different now, but he doesn’t want to even begin thinking about them.)
Seokmin catches his stare. Not soon after, specifically before Mingyu can even look away, he sees him leave the table. Seokmin throws him a familiar meaningful look before disappearing into the dance floor.
Truth be told, Mingyu’s confidence comes naturally. It isn’t something that he purposely channels. It’s just always there . . . unless you are involved. Then, suddenly, he has to painstakingly gather the confidence to be near you.
"Is this seat taken?" He tries his hardest to mask his awestruck look with one of kind politeness as he waits your response.
He almost forgot how to breathe when your eyes lock into his. "You may sit if you wish," you offer him a small, polite smile. "I don’t think he’ll be back anytime soon."
"Thanks." He effortlessly returns your gesture before situating himself on the chair your common friend abandoned. "How are you enjoying the party?"
"Really well, actually. I didn’t expect to recognize a lot of people from college." Your eyes don’t leave his as you answer. He tries not to stare back too intently, to look within your eyes to see something . . . anything. "And you?"
Mingyu waits for a beat, gathering enough confidence to say what he wants to. "Better now that you’re here." With me.
He lets out a barely audible embarrassed laugh. He has half a mind to take it back, but quickly changes his mind when he sees you biting your lower lip — an obvious attempt to stop yourself from laughing.
A ghost of a smile plays on his lips. There’s pride in knowing he’s still able to make you laugh, despite it being your first meeting in literal years.
You look down in a presumable attempt to calm yourself down. He doesn’t take his eyes off of you, though, as he refuses to lose you from his sight. As such, he immediately notices the sudden shift in your expression.
"You’re still wearing it." Mingyu follows your line of sight — and ends up looking at the source of your comment. His hand on the table, specifically the band of gold adorning his ring finger. "Our ring."
Our wedding ring.
You and Mingyu married soon after graduating from college. It had been a blissful marriage, one that filled a home with nothing but love and support.
Your divorce was on the basis of irreconcilable differences. It was a mutual decision, for the interest of your career paths diverging too far. There was never a bad blood.
"Ye— yeah." Mingyu stutters involuntarily. He clears his throat before continuing, "It’s a great conversational piece."
Although the divorce has been finalized years ago, Mingyu still plays the faithful and loving husband role in front of strangers. He uses the ring on his finger to his advantage: may that be to wordlessly signal that he’s already taken or to gain the favor of a potential sponsor.
Likewise, even if he knows the ring might be a disadvantage, he refuses to take it off — nor to purposely hide it from sight. The same way he never tells a stranger that he is no longer tied to someone else.
"Does it work?" You ask in wonder.
"We are conversing now, aren’t we?"
You chuckle, "Touché."
Mingyu wants to tell you that he hasn’t taken the ring off since you slipped it on his finger during your wedding. Not even after your divorce has been finalized all those years ago.
He wants to tell you his ring finger is thinner near his palm because of his adamant refusal to take his wedding ring off once in a while. Not willing to separate from the only physical reminder of your marriage, not even for a second.
He wants to tell you the ring is more than a conversational piece. He wants to tell you it’s his lifeline, something he can’t bear to lose. But he doesn’t.
Instead, Mingyu uses all the confidence he has gathered to ask you a simple question. "Dance with me?"
He offers you the hand adorned by his wedding ring. He tries not to show the uncertainty he feels by masking it behind a smile.
He almost lets out a relieved sigh when you place your hand on top of his. But he stops breathing momentarily when he catches sight of the sole jewelry adorning your hand.
"You’re still wearing it," Mingyu echoes your comment breathlessly. "Our ring."
He snaps his eyes back to your face, just in time to witness your smile widen. "Yeah," you say. "It’s a great talisman to ward off potential suitors."
He leads you to the dance floor, silently marveling at how your hand still fits perfectly with his. "Does it work?"
"It’s very effective," you assure him. "Although I don’t think it works well against ex-husbands."
Another slow song starts playing right when you reach the dance floor. You and Mingyu unconsciously claim your respective hand placements during your first dance — and for any waltz you danced after.
Then, suddenly, it’s like you traveled back in time.
Mingyu pulls you closer, a ghost of a smirk is at the edge of his lips. "I think it works well attracting ex-husbands."

Tumblr media
"gyu" you mutter, the nickname spills out of your mouth effortlessly. You don't really know how you ended up like this, how your head ended up on his lap, how you ever got the chance to meet someone as amazing as him, and how you think that you don't deserve him at all. Your getting side-tracked.
"hm?" he questions as you let out another sigh of contentment, you really could stay like this forever. Mingyu is too perfect, he's every girls dream. A pretty man who knows how to cook? Sign the whole female population up. It's times like these where you wonder why he chose you, out of 8 billion people, why you?
"your over-thinking again," he whispers softly, continuing to play with your hair. You always said that you were a closed book, but mingyu somehow managed to read every single page. He knew how you were feeling, he knew when your thoughts would get so loud, he knew when your thoughts would become self de-appreciating. He knew everything.
"i was wondering about something," you mumble. Mingyu knew how to keep you grounded whenever your mind was floating. He wasn't necessarily forcing you to stop over-thinking but when you started thinking negatively about yourself he would ground you, support you, be there for you.
"and what were you wondering about love?" he asks looking down at you with the biggest puppy eyes ever. You think that you might just fall in love with your husband again. He had child-like innocence and you just wanted to pinch his cheeks and pepper his whole face with kisses.
"i was wondering, why do you love me?" you question softly, this question had been running through your head all month day. Out of so many people, why you? He could've went for a prettier female idol, one that could match his status, why you?
"Your asking me that 2 years into our marriage?" He says sarcastically letting out a soft chuckle. To be honest, mingyu loves you for everything. He loves your pretty smile, your pretty eyes, your hair that he has the privilege to play with, your soft lips, everything. He loves your flaws (he doesn't really think they're flaws) too, he loves how you'll keep talking, he loves how you'll take an hour to decide between sushi or pizza, he loves how awkward you are in social settings.
"shut up! can't a girl ask a question" you protest slightly, but you don't really mean it. If someone asked you why you loved mingyu you would come up with a whole 2000 word essay. Mingyu would constantly re-assure you, tell you how pretty you were every single day, flooding your notifications with "ily, come back into my arms asap" messages every single hour.
"If you want the answer, I love everything about you." he began, he knew how cheesy he sounded but he didn't care. Nothing mattered when it came to you.
"that's cheesy." you comment laughing softly, you suddenly felt a finger resting on your lips. If mingyu tried to tell you what he loved about you he would probably run out of breath, you had so many amazing qualities that he would probably need a life-time to list it out.
"it's true though, i love everything about you. your smile, your sweet laugh, every single one of your moles, your dimples, your bread cheeks." He rambled removing his finger from your lips. You were too perfect for him, most days he would be left thinking how someone like you chose him. You were so charming and attractive how did no one else take you before him?? The world was missing out on you.
"shut up... your making me fall in love with you again." you grumble softly, you weren't annoyed, not at all. Mingyu smiled softly, that was his wife right there.
"I can make you fall in love again, wanna see how?" he snickered softly, you knew he was going to do something definitely. You always fed into his antics though, watching him smile like an adorable puppy after getting treats always made your heart melt. That was the main reason why you treated bobpul like he was your own child.
"and how will you do that?" you questioned, adding fuel to the fire. Mingyu didn't respond but smiled softly, trapping your lips in a kiss.
Mingyu has kissed you many times, but this time feels different. Your hair is messy, his hair is messy. Your wearing nothing but his oversized hoodie and a pair of sweatpants, bare-faced. But when he sweeps you into a kiss it makes your heart beat faster than it should've. Something about the suddenness of the kiss almost sent your heart into cardiac arrest. You were going to sue him for this.

Dream Consequences | K.Mg
Tumblr media
Genre: est. Relationship, fluff, suggestive;)
Summary: Mingyu had ignored you last night and you will make sure he'll pay for that.
I'm sorry, i'm just full of fluff these days:)
You woke up with a bitter feeling in your chest. Unconsciously, a scowl appeared on your face as the rays of sunshine invaded your sleep. What time is it? you thought, squinting at the bedside clock. It was 9 a.m.—Sunday.
You stayed in bed for a few more minutes, replaying last night’s events in your mind. The scenes came rushing back, each memory sharp and painful, making your heart clench. You turned your head towards the empty space beside you, where Mingyu should have been. The sheets were cold, and you sighed deeply.
He must be up already, maybe hitting the home gym or making breakfast in the kitchen, like he often did on weekends. Just as you were about to bury yourself back under the duvet, you heard the door creak open softly. Your eyes flickered toward the entrance, and your heart softened at the sight of a bright little face peeking in.
“Mummy!” An excited chirp filled the room, and your son bounded towards you, his small arms wrapping around you as he jumped onto the bed. His joy was infectious, and you couldn’t help but smile, welcoming him with warm hugs and kisses.
“How was your sleep, baby?” you asked gently, brushing a lock of hair away from his forehead.
He stopped giggling, his smile faltering slightly. “I had a nightmare,” he confessed, looking up at you with worried eyes.
Your heart tightened. “Oh, really?” you murmured, concern lacing your voice.
He nodded, his little face serious. “I was so scared, Mummy. I got out of my room and ran to Dad in the workout space.”
You smiled softly, proud of his courage. “You did a good job, baby.” You whispered to him to join his dad in the kitchen, watching as his face brightened again.
“Mummy’s awake!” your son announced loudly as he dashed into the kitchen, settling himself at the dining table. You followed him slowly, your gaze falling on the plates set out with a nutritious breakfast. His toy car lay abandoned next to the fork and knife—another small reminder of childhood innocence. Mingyu looked up from the stove as he heard the commotion, his eyes lighting up as soon as he saw you.
“There’s my beautiful girl,” he murmured, wiping his hands on a towel before walking over to you. He wrapped you in his strong embrace, pressing a tender kiss to your temple. “Good morning,” he said softly, his voice a mix of warmth and concern. But as he pulled back to study your face, he noticed your frown.
He tried to brush it off, but as breakfast went on, your silence deepened. You barely touched your food, and when Mingyu asked you if you wanted more coffee or juice, you just shook your head, eyes downcast. Mingyu glanced at your son, silently asking if something had happened, but An simply shrugged, focusing on his food.
“Did Mummy wake up grumpy today?” Mingyu teased lightly, trying to coax a smile out of you. Your son quickly shook his head.
“No, Dad. Mummy was already awake when I came in,” he answered truthfully. Mingyu’s brows furrowed, confusion darkening his gaze. Did he do something wrong that he didn’t realize?
Breakfast dragged on, the awkward silence lingering between you. Mingyu couldn’t shake the unease in his chest, but he decided to let it go for now. After finishing his meal, he called An to take a bath and get ready for his Sunday art class. You remained seated, eyes distant as if lost in thoughts far away from the bustling kitchen.
Once Mingyu dropped An off at the class, he returned home, still unsettled by your distant demeanor. He expected to find you in the living room, but you were nowhere to be seen. Worry gnawed at him. He headed to the bedroom, his footsteps quickening. The sight of you lying under the duvet, motionless, sent a jolt of fear through him.
“Love?” he whispered softly, stepping closer. He reached out hesitantly, his hand brushing your arm through the fabric. You didn’t flinch, but your eyes opened slowly, meeting his gaze for a brief second before you turned away, showing him your back.
“Hey…” Mingyu’s voice wavered slightly. He crouched beside the bed, his heart aching at your silence. “Are you okay? Are you feeling sick?”
You remained quiet, eyes closing again as if to shut him out.
“Did I… Did I do something wrong?” His voice was low, almost pleading. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to piece together what he might have missed. “Why are you ignoring me, sweetheart?”
The room felt heavy, your silence echoing louder than words.
Frustration simmered inside Mingyu as he watched you lie there, avoiding him. He crossed his arms, the bed dipping slightly as he sat on the empty space beside you. He looked down at you, his brows knitted together in concern and confusion.
“It’s mean, you know… You shouldn’t ignore me like this,” Mingyu mumbled, his voice soft but carrying a hint of hurt. His lips unconsciously pouted as he waited for you to respond.
You slowly opened your eyes, staring blankly at the wall in front of you. You knew he was right. You knew it was childish to give him the cold shoulder over something as irrational as a dream. But no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t shake off the weight on your chest, the bitter pang of pain that resurfaced every time you recalled the scene from last night’s nightmare.
“If I made a mistake, you should tell me,” Mingyu continued, his tone earnest as he leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. “You shouldn’t treat someone you love like this—leaving me to wonder what I did wrong.”
His words hit you like a punch in the gut, guilt instantly washing over you. He was right. You groaned inwardly, frustration now directed at yourself. Why does he have to be so mature? You thought bitterly. Mingyu was always patient, always understanding, and here you were acting like a sulking child. It made you feel embarrassed, yet at the same time, it only made you love him more.
Taking a deep breath, you pushed yourself up, sitting up in bed almost too quickly. You turned to face him, but your eyes remained fixed on the floor, too ashamed to meet his gaze. Mingyu watched you with wide eyes, his posture straightening at the sudden change.
“You ignored me first,” you muttered under your breath, barely audible.
Mingyu blinked, clearly caught off guard. “What?” he asked, his voice laced with confusion. “When did I—”
“In my dream!” you blurted out, your cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
There was a moment of stunned silence before Mingyu let out a breathy laugh, his expression softening. “A dream?” he repeated incredulously, his smile growing wider. He scooted closer to you, his thigh brushing against yours. “So, you’re upset because of something I did… in a dream?”
You nodded reluctantly, feeling utterly ridiculous now that you said it out loud. But Mingyu’s reaction wasn’t what you expected. He didn’t laugh or tease you further. Instead, he gently cupped your cheek, tilting your head up so that you had no choice but to look at him.
“Hey,” he murmured softly, his thumb brushing against your skin. “I’m sorry if I hurt you, even if it was just in a dream. But you have to tell me these things, love. I’m not a mind reader, and I hate seeing you upset and not knowing why.”
Your heart swelled at his sincerity, tears prickling at the corners of your eyes. You leaned into his touch, sighing softly. “It was just… a really bad dream, Mingyu. You were ignoring me, pushing me away… I know it’s silly, but it felt so real, and I woke up feeling like I’d lost you.”
Mingyu’s expression softened further, a look of understanding washing over his features. He pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly against his chest. “I’m right here,” he whispered against your hair, his voice filled with reassurance. “I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
You nodded, the ache in your chest finally beginning to fade. “I’m sorry for being difficult,” you murmured, your voice muffled against his shirt.
“Just remember one thing,” Mingyu murmured, his voice dropping an octave as he cupped your cheeks gently, tilting your face up to meet his gaze. “I would never ignore you. You’re my drop-dead gorgeous wife—the love of my life. I would never do something as stupid as ignoring you, love.”
His dark eyes bore into yours, the intensity of his gaze making your heart flutter. You immediately pulled back, your cheeks flushing in embarrassment at his sweet words. But Mingyu found your reaction adorable, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
“Ah, there she is. Shy as ever,” he teased, his grin widening. He didn’t give you a chance to retreat any further. Before you could even react, he wrapped his arms around your waist and effortlessly pulled you onto his lap, settling you comfortably against him.
“Mingyu!” you squealed, instinctively placing your hands on his chest to steady yourself. He smirked, his eyes sparkling with mischief. His embrace was firm yet gentle, and you could feel his warmth seeping through the fabric of your clothes.
“Yes, love?” he whispered, his voice low and dangerously smooth. The way he looked at you sent shivers down your spine. He leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear as he spoke, sending a wave of heat coursing through your body. “You know you can’t escape me that easily, right?”
His words made your heart race, and you felt your resolve weakening under his gaze. Mingyu shifted slightly, his hands slipping beneath the hem of your shirt, his touch feather-light against your skin. He traced lazy circles along your sides, his fingertips brushing just above the waistband of your shorts. Your breath hitched, the sensation both ticklish and electrifying.
“You’re so cute when you’re flustered,” he murmured, his lips now ghosting along your jawline. His breath was warm, his scent intoxicating, making it hard for you to think straight. “But I have to say…” He paused, his lips hovering just a fraction away from yours, “I much prefer seeing you like this—so close, so vulnerable.”
Your gaze flickered to his lips, and you swallowed hard. The tension between you was palpable, the air thick with anticipation. “M-Mingyu…” you stammered, unable to find the right words. His name came out more like a plea, making his smile widen in satisfaction.
“Hmm?” He hummed softly, his thumb brushing over your lower lip. “What is it, love? If you want something, you have to tell me.” He tilted his head, his eyes darkening with a mixture of adoration and something else—something far more dangerous. “Or do you want me to guess?”
Before you could respond, his lips captured yours in a slow, deliberate kiss. He took his time, savoring the feel of you against him. Your hands gripped his shirt tightly as his kisses grew deeper, more demanding. He gently nipped at your bottom lip, drawing a soft gasp from you, which he took as an invitation to explore further.
Your heart pounded wildly as he shifted again, his hands roaming up your back, pulling you closer until there was barely any space left between you. You could feel every ridge of his muscles under your fingertips, every beat of his heart against your chest. When he finally pulled away, you were both breathless, your cheeks flushed.
“See what you do to me?” Mingyu whispered, his voice husky. He rested his forehead against yours, his breath mingling with yours. “You drive me crazy, love. Absolutely crazy.”
You bit your lip, feeling the heat spread through your entire body. “Mingyu…” His name slipped past your lips again, and this time, it held a different meaning. You felt his hold on you tighten, his gaze never leaving yours.
“Tell me what you want,” he urged softly, his fingers tracing patterns on your thighs. His touch was tantalizing, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. “Because I’m more than ready to give it to you.”
Your heart raced, every inch of your skin tingling with the promise in his voice. You hesitated for only a moment, your gaze locking with his, before whispering the words that sent his heart racing as much as yours.
“I want you, Mingyu.”
The atmosphere shifted instantly. His expression grew even more intense, the playful smile replaced by a look of pure desire. Without another word, Mingyu wrapped his arms around you, lifting you effortlessly as he carried you to the middle of the bed, his eyes never leaving yours.
“I was hoping you’d say that,” he murmured against your lips, laying you down gently. He hovered above you, his gaze sweeping over you with a mix of reverence and need. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, then your nose, and finally, your lips.
“Let’s see if I can make up for what dream-Mingyu did,” he whispered, his voice a velvety promise as his hands began to explore, his touch igniting every nerve in your body.
You shivered, anticipation and excitement flooding your senses. “Mingyu... Please.." You brethed out, your voice trembling with want.
His eyes darkened even more, smile turned into smirk. "Anything for you love, just tell me where to start.."
*
Later in the afternoon, the sun dipped lower in the sky as you and Mingyu stepped out of the house. The fresh autumn breeze brushed against your skin, making you shiver slightly. Without a second thought, Mingyu slid his hand into yours, intertwining your fingers. He gave your hand a gentle squeeze, and before you could glance up at him, he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a lingering kiss to your knuckles.
“You’re too good to me, you know that?” he murmured softly, his voice still carrying that familiar hint of warmth. His eyes, however, glinted mischievously. “Makes me want to keep you inside the house all day—no distractions.”
You felt a rush of heat spread across your cheeks, remembering the intimacy you had shared just hours ago. Before you could get too lost in the memory, Mingyu nudged you playfully with his shoulder, his expression turning even more teasing.
“You think the neighbors heard us?” he whispered, leaning in conspiratorially. “Maybe that’s why Mrs. Song next door was looking a little flustered this morning.”
“Mingyu!” you hissed, your eyes widening as you tried to stifle a laugh, your face turning even redder. You playfully smacked his arm, but that only made him chuckle.
“What? Just asking!” He shrugged, a smug grin playing on his lips. “You were a little… loud, you know.”
You huffed, trying to act indignant, but it was impossible to hide the smile tugging at your lips. “That’s your fault!” you retorted, your voice a bit quieter now. “If anyone should be embarrassed, it’s you.”
“Me? Embarrassed?” Mingyu scoffed, shaking his head. He took a step back, his hand still holding yours, pulling you closer as you made your way to the car parked in the driveway. “You’re mistaken, love. I’d shout it from the rooftops if I could.”
Your heart skipped a beat at the sheer confidence and adoration in his voice. Mingyu pulled you in for a quick kiss on the cheek before opening the passenger door for you with a flourish, bowing slightly like a chauffeur.
“Your chariot awaits, my lady,” he announced, his tone lighthearted.
You couldn’t help but laugh as you slid into the seat, watching him circle around to the driver’s side. Once he settled in and started the car, Mingyu reached over, placing a warm hand on your knee.
“You know, I’ve been thinking,” he said, his voice casual, but you could see the playful glint still present in his eyes. “We should enroll An in a few more weekend courses.”
You blinked, glancing at him curiously. “Oh? Why’s that?”
Mingyu smirked, his gaze flicking over to you before he looked back at the road. “Because… if he’s busy all weekend, then we get more time to do… other things.” He paused, his lips curving into a sly grin. “Like what we did this morning.”
Your mouth dropped open slightly in shock before you burst out laughing, shaking your head. “You can’t be serious!”
“Completely serious,” Mingyu shot back, his expression almost comically solemn. “Just imagine—art classes, sports practice, music lessons… we’ll have so much free time, I might never let you out of bed.
“Stop it!” You laughed, swatting at his shoulder, but the laughter in your voice only encouraged him further.
“I’m just saying,” he continued, his tone mock-defensive. “It’s for our own sanity. We need some alone time, too. Right?”
“Right,” you drawled sarcastically, rolling your eyes. But you couldn’t deny the warmth blooming in your chest. His words were playful, but the underlying sentiment—the desire to cherish every moment with you—was unmistakable.
Mingyu’s grin softened, and he gave your hand a quick squeeze as you both fell into a comfortable silence, the car humming gently as it cruised down the road.
“Maybe we’ll find some balance,” you mused aloud after a moment, leaning back in your seat, your gaze flicking to him. “But I still think you’re a little too eager.”
Mingyu chuckled, his deep voice reverberating through the car. “Can you blame me?” He glanced at you, his gaze brimming with affection. “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and more. So, yeah… I’ll never get enough of being around you.”
Your smile widened as you felt a rush of emotion at his sincerity. You knew he was joking earlier, but the way he looked at you now—with a mix of love, contentment, and yearning—made you realize just how much he meant every word.
“I love you, Mingyu,” you whispered softly, reaching out to lace your fingers with his.
“I love you, too,” he replied immediately, squeezing your hand once more before lifting it to kiss your knuckles again. “Now, let’s go get our little troublemaker. I’m sure he has a million stories to tell us about art class.”
With that, you both shared a quiet, knowing smile as Mingyu drove on, the warmth and love between you two filling every corner of the car.

A lot of things had changed since Kim Mingyu had come into your life - some for the worse, some for the better.
Just as you had feared the night you had agreed to go out with him in the middle of your tiny kitchen, you didn’t like all aspects of being tied to another person. You still craved your alone time when your social battery was about to die on you, and you liked being independent and in control of the most important aspects of your life, disgusted by the idea of becoming financially or emotionally dependent on another person. You also couldn’t see yourself as an amazing mother.
Yet, with over five years down the road and a belly as round as a damned watermelon, you could say that none of your cons against a future with the baker was strong enough to beat the pros.
To everyone’s biggest surprise - including yourself -, you enjoyed living under the same roof as your now-husband. He was the man you could whole-heartedly call your person even on your worst days: when you were annoyed and annoying, when you thrived on picking a fight with him for the most insignificant things just to blow off some steam, or when you would have rather have him sleep on the floor after a heated argument than fall asleep without him in the same bedroom.
You were genuinely incapable of picturing yourself starting a family with anyone else but Kim Mingyu. As cheesy as Felix would have called you for admitting it, you were convinced that he was the love of your life.
Because somehow Mingyu got you. He supported you. He stuck by your side even when you were ready to push him away. And most importantly, he made you the happiest person in the world, sharing the same enthusiasm with you for food and desserts. You might not have been as talented as him, but he had even taught you how to bake over the years, which was a great testament for his commitment. (In the beginning, your fluffy pancakes had been so dry, you couldn’t have called them crispy to save your life, and your cupcakes had resembled pieces of coals that could have kept your home warm for years during the most unforgiving winters.)
‘A penny for your thoughts?’ The question was murmured into your ear, the husky voice of your husband pulling you out of your head without much trouble. Too used to him standing behind your back and monitoring your baking process in your enormous kitchen, you leaned the back of your head against his broad chest and did not bother to sneak a glance at him. The low rumble that escaped his throat the moment your body fit close to his was enough: you knew he found your behaviour amusing and had his full attention on you.
You unconsciously patted your baby bump once, twice, three times before you grabbed a new piece of chocolate-orange cupcake and started to decorate it with pastel coloured buttercream - apparently, pastel was Haeun’s new favourite palette, which genuinely surprised you, since you could still remember her excitement a year ago when she had been allowed to paint her bedroom at their new home with Joshua eggplant. Children grew up so fast.
‘I’m just thinking about Haeun-ah’s birthday. It’s hard to believe she’s already turning ten,’ you said, purposely omitting the part where you had been thinking about him, your own baby and the future that was awaiting you three. Mingyu had already had a decent-sized ego, you didn’t want his head to grow even bigger.
Plus, he knew you like one knew the back of their hand. He might have already figured out what had been on your mind before he had sneaked up on you.
‘Hn, you know what’s even crazier? That the twins will start preschool next year,’ Mingyu said, and you let out a hum in agreement. Now that you were pregnant and knew how much pain it could cause sometimes just to stand for a longer period of time on swollen ankles and with constant backache, you thought it was insane how noone (except Seungcheol and her mother) had realised Hoyeon had been with twins until her third trimester.
You couldn’t have hidden it for a month.
‘Talking about crazy… How does Haeun have twenty-three friends she wants to celebrate with at her party? At her age, I couldn’t keep around more than two to save my life,’ you complained rather light-heartedly, although you did find it slightly annoying that you had been decorating cupcakes since eight in the morning and it still felt like there was no end to the desserts that flooded your kitchen.
You bit down on your lower lip harshly before more complaints could have left your mouth. Mingyu had given you a week’s notice that he would bake the birthday girl’s cupcake-cake the morning of her party, so they would have been as fresh as possible. It had also been you who had insisted on helping with the decoration, because while you had difficulties getting used to your pregnant body and moving around so close to your due date, you were also stubborn and selfish, and you wanted to spend your free Saturday with Mingyu.
‘Wasn’t Felix your only friend when we met?’ Mingyu teased you with his chin on the top of your head, earning an elbow in his gut for such an unnecessary comment.
His quiet, deep chuckle made you smile within a second.
‘That’s not the point. Twenty-three close friends aren’t normal either,’ you said with a pout as you finished the petals on the cupcake and grabbed another bag of coloured buttercream to make the cream-bouquet more realistic with a lighter shade of the pastel purple you had been using.
‘I already had fourteen close friends when I met you. And I’d like to believe I grow close to most of the guys’ significant others. And Felix, too. And Jihye’s brother,’ he went on and on with a shiteating grin on his face that you could visualise without looking at him. Without doubt, Mingyu was proud of himself to have so many people in his life he could not only care for but also rely on, so you didn’t scoff. Especially because you were well aware of the number of many fake people who tried to get close to him because of his money and looks while they called him a himbo behind his back.
It was an insecurity that had caused many fights between the two of you at the beginning of your relationship, but as time went on and the two of you had gotten more secure in what you had, those people’s existence and opinion slowly started to fade into the background. They didn’t matter - your date nights, your baking sessions, your achievements and your growing family did.
‘Considering that you knew about Jiung’s girlfriend before his sister, I would say you’re pretty close,’ you acknowledged his bond with the boy who had become a more permanent character in your lives shortly after Jihoon and Jihye’s housewarming party where both he and Mingyu had gotten sentimental drunk on the couple’s brand new couch. You remembered covering them with a soft blanket after they had fallen asleep: how you had realised at that moment that Mingyu would be an amazing dad because he was protecting the younger’s head with both of his hands in his sleep.
Once the flowers on the cupcake looked pleasant enough, you placed it on the tray with the finished desserts on it, then patted your belly absentmindedly. You didn’t want to whine, but you also wanted to whine a little. The added weight started to become heavy on your back and you could also feel a sheer layer of sweat forming above your upper lips and on your temples.
Refusing to slow down and let this side job slash birthday present steal your entire Saturday, you wiped the moisture off your face and got back to work, dodging your husband’s hands when he tried to take the buttercream bag out of yours to decorate the orange-chocolate piece you had picked up.
‘You should pay attention to the tray in the oven. It’s the last one, right?’ You asked, happy to be correct about the dessert and that the cupcakes needed his attention more. This way, Mingyu didn’t have a comeback as to why he should have assisted you without bringing up your baby bump: a reason you had grown to be allergic to. You weren’t disabled. You could still do things on your own even if some took you a little bit longer these days. You didn’t like when your independence got threatened. (It didn’t matter that deep down you knew that was never Mingyu’s true intention.)
After your husband walked back to the oven, you picked up the yellow buttercream and let out a silent sigh. You could do it. One and a half more trays to go. It was as easy as stealing candy from a toddler.
Working your way through two more cupcakes by the time the last tray got ready, you were secretly happy to be able to lean against Mingyu’s broad chest again, although it didn’t take much weight off your ankles. They were still throbbing lightly, reminding you of your new limits that you refused to acknowledge. You were so damn tired. You started to doubt whether assisting Mingyu was a good idea. You should have stayed in bed and simply waited for him. Then, you still would have had the energy to do more with him than eating on the couch and demanding cuddles once the cupcake-cake got delivered.
However, it was too late to make up your mind now.
Even though you really, really wanted to go back to bed and sleep.
‘Love…’ the now-familiar endearment fell from Mingyu’s lips quietly as though he wanted to make sure he was gentle enough for you to listen. You pressed your lips together, feeling overwhelmed and a tad moody. ‘Let me help.’
Your lips trembled as you kept working on the birthday cupcakes. You wanted his help. In fact, you didn’t want to stand anymore at all, but you had insisted despite his arguments last night and this morning, and you didn’t want to hear how he had been right. How you were too pregnant apparently to decorate five dozen cupcakes with buttercream without crying. The thought alone made you feel incompetent. Dependent. A burden.
‘But then the flowers wouldn’t look the same,’ you insisted, because that was the only thing you could do without feeling like a failure. Because finishing the damned cupcake-cake with tears in your eyes was still better in your opinion than letting him handle the rest regardless of how those flowers came out to be. You both knew none of those ten-year-olds would have thrown a tantrum because of the decoration when Mingyu’s chocolate-orange and strawberry- white-chocolate cupcakes were mouth-watering, breathtaking, goddamn delicious.
You were being difficult for no reason, and you already hated yourself for it. You just couldn’t help it when your brain was dead set on proving something silly to the both of you when in reality, you had nothing to prove.
The first thing you noticed was the light touch of a chin on your shoulder and the stubble that rubbed against your cheek before most of the weight was lifted off your aching body. Your hands trembled and you almost dropped the buttercream bag when you looked down at your baby bump and saw your husband’s arms around you. He was holding… No, he was lifting up your belly, so you wouldn’t feel the extra weight that prominently.
‘You’re right,’ he murmured into your ear, encouraging you to finish the decoration on your own; meanwhile, he did not let go of your belly.
It should have felt offensive. It should have felt like he didn’t believe in you. And most importantly, it shouldn’t have felt so freaking good that you wished he would have done this more frequently in the future. Like every day - every single day until your baby boy was born and your body could start the healing process.
‘Just let me be here for you, hm?’ He asked for your permission, which you gave him in the most you-way possible: without words, leaning into him more, humming out your approval. God, you loved him so much.
You loved him so much.
During the next hour or so, while you slowly finished the buttercream flowers in the colours of the rainbow, Mingyu didn’t let go of you for a second. He stood behind you, holding your pregnant belly, talking about everything and anything to keep your mind occupied, so you wouldn’t pay attention to your obvious discomfort. He chatted your ears off about Hoshi’s upcoming engagement party, about who he thought would start a family next (your bet was on Seokmin, but he was convinced Soonyoung wouldn’t be able to keep it in his pants after Eunseo said yes to his proposal), and about Jihye’s new album that came with a mini tour. It was nice. It was bearable.
And you once again realised that there was no one… no one else in the world with whom you could have taken this scary step towards having your own family with so much ease and confidence. Because you loved your independence. You loved being able to do things on your own and pick fights when you couldn’t. You hated being wrong and being told that you were wrong, although you knew your stubborn ass never listened to well-founded reasoning. Yet, Mingyu rarely got angry with you for being who you were.
He stood by your side. He supported you. He accepted all your flaws.
And you, being you, could only wish he knew you would have done all these for him, too. That in this lifetime and the next one, too, for you, it was him. No one else. Only him.
the end.

You know what the best part of marrying your best friend is?
Well, it's the unconditional love and acceptance. Even when he knows you snore like a freight train, or remembers those awkward teenage days when you looked like a potato, or how you cried over a simple injection for an entire week. He embraces all of you - quirks, flaws, and all.
I roll my eyes at my best friend slash husband, Seungkwan. He's at it again, playfully teasing me while I'm trying to cook breakfast. Despite his occasional antics, I've grown accustomed to them.
But what truly makes it special is how he loves my family as his own.
"Hey, mother. Did you know when I first saw you, I really thought you and my wife were sisters?" Seungkwan's voice drifted from the kitchen, mingling with the aroma of breakfast cooking on the stove. I smiled at the playful exchange between him and my mom.
Her laughter echoed through the room as she lightly swatted his shoulder. "You moron, how can you remember when you were just 3 years old when your family met us."
"Well, mother, ever since then… you haven't changed even a bit," Seungkwan teased, their shared laughter filling the air.
As I observed their easy rapport, a sense of warmth washed over me. They had effortlessly become family to each other, blending seamlessly into the fabric of our lives.
"Hey, my favorite father!" my husband exclaimed, offering a high five that my dad eagerly reciprocated. Their camaraderie was palpable, a testament to the bond they shared.
"My favorite son!" my dad retorted, a grin playing at the corners of his lips.
Seungkwan chuckled, his expression turning nostalgic. "I'm always glad you became my father! I always envied that woman in the back—" he nodded in my direction "—that she had you as a father. Now, I still can't believe I became your son!"
"Of course, you will always be my son, even if you didn't marry that monkey over there," they laughed together, oblivious to my presence. "Now, hold this flashlight. Let's fix your car. I can't believe you're already grown but can't fix this."
My dad's laughter mingled with Seungkwan's, their banter a familiar melody that filled our home with joy. In that moment, I realized how lucky I was to be surrounded by such love and laughter.
"I've been looking for you everywhere, yet you were just there beside me," The memory of our wedding vows flooded back as I gazed at him, reminding me of the journey that led us to this moment.
Back in college, when we were both grappling with heartbreak and disillusionment, I uttered those words almost as a whimsical notion. "If we can't find someone who will love us forever, let's just marry each other instead." And in that moment of vulnerability and uncertainty, he didn't hesitate to agree.
Now, as I reflect on our journey together, I realize that marrying him was the best decision I ever made. Despite all the missteps and regrets of the past, he has been my constant source of love, support, and happiness.
With Seungkwan by my side, my life has changed in ways I never imagined. In moments of doubt or despair, he's always been there to lift me up. It's almost as if he was the answer to my prayers all along, and I was just too blind to see it.
In him, I found not just a partner, but my soulmate, my confidante, my rock. And as we stand here, enveloped in each other's arms, I know with unwavering certainty that our love will continue to light the path ahead, guiding us through whatever challenges may come our way.

dinner for two
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: hubby!mingyu x wifey!reader
wc: 476
genres: romance, established relationship (married), half proofread, isn’t afraid to speak his mind mingyu with an easily offended reader.
a/n: i literally based this off that one business proposal scene between the side couple… it was so cute & made me think of mingyu so pls enjoy huhu :P
mingyu had just gotten off of work. a deep sigh coming out of his mouth as he unlocked the front door, setting his shoes off to the side and taking off his jacket.
“oh, you’re home!” your voice yelled out. your scuffling could be heard from afar. you couldn’t help but grin at your husband finally coming home after being alone for the whole day.
although mingyu was exhausted, he tried his best to give you a smile once he trailed to the kitchen. “you cooked?” he gave you a back hug as you washed the last few dirty utensils.
your head nodded eagerly. “but i don’t know if it tastes good,” you spoke condescendingly whilst wiping your hands. “i’ll plate it for you.”
after a couple minutes, you finally guided yourself over to the dinner table with a bowl in your hand. you gently set down the hot dish and sat down quietly.
mingyu hesitated a bit, and you could clearly see it on his face. “hurry and eat it! you’re making me anxious!”
of course, the reason why he was even acting like this was because you never cooked.
whenever you were home alone you’d have instant noodles or take out which made mingyu slightly disappointed at your poor diet choices, but what could he do? he was rarely home because of his schedule, but makes a dish once he gets back for the both of you.
his expectations were still optimistic nonetheless. “ah,” he uttered and cleared his throat. “sorry.” he took a deep breath before eventually putting the spoon to his mouth.
he paused.
“is it good?” you perked up in your seat with your mouth slightly opened in amusement.
it was salty.
he could feel his soul crush as he felt his sodium levels rise in a matter of seconds.
“i-it’s good,” mingyu’s voice mumbled.
you pouted a bit at his response. “it doesn’t sound like you mean it. be honest, come on!”
he sits up in his chair. a deep exhale comes out of his mouth as he sets down his utensils. “if i be honest i don’t know if you’ll like it.”
“just say it!”
“it’s salty,” he states in a faint tone. your ears don’t pick his words up, though. you flash him a smile and tilt your head which makes mingyu feel guiltier than he already is.
“it-it’s salty!”
your smile drops. “the veggies are too soft,” he continues as if you weren’t already disappointed. “and the rice—i don’t even want to talk about that. how do you fail rice?”
he immediately covers his mouth with his hand at the realization of what he just said. a sigh of defeat comes out of your mouth at his too honest response. “is that all?”
“i’m sorry. so, so sorry.”
“whatever, just drink the water. i bet it’ll be the best part of the meal.”

Girl Dad Gyu - Hair
Tumblr media
No warnings, just pure fluff. Mingyu is a stay-at-home dad and an amazing girl dad.
----------------------‐---------------------
Mingyu sat on the floor, surrounded by an array of hair accessories - clips, bows, and hair ties. He looked at his daughter, who was sitting in front of him, babbling happily and grabbing at the colourful items.
"Alright, Minju, let's see what we can do with this hair of yours," he said with a smile, reaching for a hairbrush.
Minju was barely a year, but boy, could she grow a lion's mane. He wasn't sure if it was something she had inherited from his wife or him, but he knew he had to do something about it. "Just get her a haircut honey," the mother of his child said. He had told her how he didn't want to take it the easy way. He'll need to learn how to handle their daughter's hair in the future anyway - the mere thought of his chubby baby growing got him choked up, but he continued strategising his mission.
Mingyu had taken it upon himself to buy all the hair accessories for Minju. He had even picked up a nice baby friendly hairbrush though his wife had already gotten one when they were preparing for their daughter's arrival, 'All good things comes in two,' he had rationalised to himself. It's fine. Surely, his wife can't be mad for having one extra comb. Right?
As he brushed her soft hair, he realized that he had no idea what he was doing. He had never been the best at styling his own hair, let alone someone else's. But he was determined to figure it out for his daughter. He refuses to find an easy way out. Minju hated going to the salons. Every time the hairdresser approached her delicate head, she'd show off her great set of lungs. Who knew a cute chubby thing like her could let out a mighty cry, loud enough for everyone in Seoul to hear?
Mingyu started with a simple ponytail, using a pink hair tie to hold it in place. He stepped back to admire his work, only to see that the ponytail was lopsided and messy. He groaned, "The tutorial says to do it this way, Minju-ya, why isn't it working?" His daughter, who was oblivious of her struggling appa, was preoccupied with sorting out the colourful hair bands between her chubby legs. At least that's what Mingyu thought she was doing.
He sighed and tried again, this time with a clip. But as soon as he let go of her hair, the clip fell out, and Minju grabbed it, putting it straight in her mouth. Mingyu chuckled at the sight, realizing that this wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. He gently pried the clip off her mouth, she had protested but she hadn't protested too hard. It didn't taste as good as it seemed anyway. It was hard even. Minju frowned, her bottom lips stuck out mirroring her appa.
Mingyu had tried different hairstyles - braids, pigtails, and even attempted a messy bun - but nothing seemed to be working. He had gone through millions of tutorials at this point. "Your eomma does it so effortlessly. Surely I can do it too, right, Minju?" Minju just blankly looked at her father. She shoved a bunch of butterfly clips to him instead.
After several failed attempts, Mingyu decided to take a break and sit with his daughter, who was now playing with the hairbrush. As he watched her, he realized that it didn't matter if her hair was styled perfectly or not. She was still the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
He picked her up and held her close, smiling as she giggled and babbled in his ear. Mingyu knew that there were more important things than being good at styling hair, like being there for his daughter and making her feel loved and supported.
As he put Minju down to play, he looked at the mess of hair accessories and laughed. "Maybe we'll just stick with the messy look for now," he said to himself.
Mingyu may not have been a hairstyling expert, but he was a loving father who would do anything for his daughter - even if it meant embracing her messy hair.
Later that day, his wife got home and trimmed their daughter's hair herself. Her mother, being an angel and her salvation, Minju had complied easily. In fact, she had stayed put in Mingyu's hold. "Told you this would be easier," chided his wife. He could only pout.
Author's Note: I might start a series of shorts like this based on Mingyu being a girl dad. I have a few in my drafts just waiting for an edit.

[gif’s full credit belongs solely to its owner]
๑彡 title is taken from zack tabudlo’s by my side (ft. tiara andini).
๑彡 thank you sm for the overwhelming love for my future in your eyes! please accept this as a thank you gift :]
๑彡 this is connected to that fic, a prequel of sorts, but can also be read as a standalone. (i highly recommend reading that, too, though.)
Kim Mingyu is a man of confidence.
He exudes confidence, regardless of what he does. It’s a natural part of his aura — something that he can never control at will.
It comes in handy for his line of work, which often requires him to socialize and impress others. Occasionally, though, it also needs him to give presentations in front of large crowds.
As his audience continues to stare at him, with a mix of glossed eyes and awestruck expressions, Mingyu begins to appreciate his inborn confidence a little bit more.
He’s an extrovert. He does well with crowds. He’s comfortable striking up conversations with complete strangers. He’s talkative and spontaneous and outgoing, amongst other things.
And with his confidence, Mingyu can command a room with ease.
Yet, still, it doesn’t necessarily mean he enjoys public speaking — especially if the crowd he’s addressing is full of college students who are currently everywhere, just not in the classroom.
He can hardly blame them. He has been in their shoes before. He knows what it feels like to listen to professors and guest lecturers drag on when he rather spend his time elsewhere.
"Well then, if you guys thought of more questions later," he began his wrap-up speech, "feel free to email me. Thank you—"
A flurry of moment on his right caught his attention, effectively halting his speech. However, the cause of it is gone by the second he turns.
The only evidence he has that he didn’t hallucinate the entire thing is the murmuring that suddenly engulfs the room. And the small folded piece of paper on his right that seems to appear out of the blue.
Mingyu reaches for the paper and looks around the room. He immediately notices the students’ renewed interest in him. Or perhaps — most likely — they are just interested in how he responses to the note.
He looks down as he opens the paper.
Mister, do you have a significant other?
He chuckles soundlessly. Not because of how off-topic it is from the presentation he just gave, but because it is apparently enough to bring you forth in his mind.
After all, you are his other half. Someone he met and fell in love with within the walls of your college campus. Someone he put great effort to deserve the heart of.
The only one he could see sharing a future with. The only one he went down on one knee for and waited for at the end of the aisle.
The only one he loves with his soul. The only one he respects and cherishes to an unfathomable extent.
Mingyu gives a shy smile to the sea of students before raising his hand, palm facing inward. He lets the gold band around his ring finger shine under the spotlights aimed at him.
Their collective disappointment is loud.
Mingyu finds their reaction amusing. He has watched countless people react to his marital status over the years. Those who appear dismayed, he notes, often try their best to hide it, albeit unsuccessfully. As a matter of fact, this is the first time anyone has ever showed disdain so openly — a whole group, too, no less.
He can’t stop the soundless chuckle that escaped. He has always been proud of his marriage. He boasts about it — and you — every chance that he gets. It’s something that always brings a smile to his face. Something that he never gets tired of.
Even after the divorce.
The end of your marriage had been a mutual decision. You both agreed that it was the best action to take, before anything escalated to something unbecoming. And, at the time, it was the best decision to take.
The end of your marriage didn’t signify the end of his love for you, though. That’s why, even years after the court made your divorce official, his wedding ring stayed on his finger.
Mingyu may have failed to keep you by his side, but he absolutely has no plans to rid himself of the only physical reminder of your marriage.
Mingyu may have lost his rights to claim you as his spouse; but at least in front of strangers, he can still pretend that the gold around his finger is more than a remembrance.
"How are you going to find a replacement for your wedding ring if you keep letting people think you’re still married?" Minghao wonders when he meets up with him after his presentation.
Ironically enough, his longtime friend personifies the reality that his façade only works with strangers. Those who don’t know what happened. Nor can read him like an open book. Nor notice the hint of sadness in his eyes.
Mingyu simply shrugs at that, "Bold of you to assume I want a replacement in the first place."
(After all, his wedding ring isn’t just a conversational piece. It’s also his lifeline . . . something he can’t bear to lose, especially when he already lost you.)

Mingyu as your husband
Genre: Fluff, smut
Word count:727 words
Character: Mingyu x Reader
You were tired from your work, no tired is an underestimation, you are exhausted. Your boss gave you a pile load of work and expected it to be done within the day so you have to work overtime. If not only for your high-paying salary you would have quit years ago. You got to your car heading home. You opened your door and Kim Mingyu, your husband, greeted you with a tight hug.
“How was your day?” his sweet husky voice entered your ear and you instantly relaxed a bit.
“Tired” you answered tiredly but still smiling. You get to the couch and he put you into his lap cuddling you.
“Aw my poor baby, your boss overworked you again?” You nodded like a child getting pity from your parent.
“Let me get you something to eat” he kissed your forehead and then got up heading to the kitchen.
You followed him like a puppy and sat down on the high stool. You watched Mingyu prepare the ingredients, chopping the garlic and onions and then putting them in the pan. You watched his beautiful and broad back, and how his bicep contracted while he cook. You are so lucky to have him as your husband. He takes very good care of you plus his food is beyond amazing. You are wondering how he got such a perfect body when his food is so delicious you could eat them forever without getting tired of them. Mingyu is a chef and he owns a restaurant just a few blocks from your home. So whenever you are craving something Mingyu always tends to your food cravings.
You can now smell his cooking and your mouth is already salivating.
“Dinner is ready” he said and put two plates in the high stool table. You are too tired to organize the table so you both settled to eat in the high stool counter. He cooked your favorite Pasta Carbonara. It was so delicious you ate two servings.
“Thank you for the meal,” you said then kissed him
“No worries babe, anytime” he winked at you before he turned around to clean the dishes.
You hugged him from behind while he was cleaning the dishes and he looked at you, “You want anything babe?” he asked
“Hm.. just want to hug you,” you said and closed your eyes feeling his warmth. He continued to wash the dishes, and after he was done he wiped his hands and hugged you back.
“Still tired?” he asked and you responded “yea but a little less now” then smiled at him
“Let’s go to the bedroom I’ll massage your back” he took your hand assisting you to your shared bedroom. He took your top off and then put oil in your back, he laid you down and massaged your back.
You can feel his large warm hands in your back and it feels so good. “hmm” you moaned quietly at the sensation, you can feel the tension from your shoulder loosen.
“feels good?” he whispered to your ear and it sent shivers to your back. He noticed that and he chuckled.
“Want me to make you feel good babe?” now he is asking you in his seductive voice “yes please” you answered submissively. He kissed your lower back before he guided your hips to arch back. He removed your remaining clothes. You can feel his breath in your sensitive part, he kissed your inner thighs before he guided his mouth to your sensitive mound. He licked it and it made you squeal, you felt him chuckle from down there. He continued playing your private part with his tongue then he put his fingers inside of you. It felt so good as his hands play with your mound tickling something inside you. He moved his hand inside and out of you faster and you felt something inside you tightening, “I’m gonna come” you said with a staggering breath and he continued to make you feel good until liquid rushed out from your pussy to his mouth, he licked it clean. “I love you,” you said while panting “I love you too baby, can you take more?” he asked you with a smirk, challenging you. “Of course,” you said accepting his challenge. You are so lucky to have him, not only good in the kitchen but also in bed.
To be continued...
