so this song is extremely fitting for him: "Momento Mori" - Fish in a Birdcage

notice how the title is "momento mori" rather than "memento mori". it's a play on words. ("memento mori"= remember that you will die.)

"moment of death" leaves a debt...

what yingxing and dan feng did... it left a great debt unpaid. one of blade's lines is literally: "imbibitor lunae... when will our retribution come? when will our debt be repaid?"

blade's existence is a debt owed to the universe, actually. he was not supposed to keep on living and never dying. this is why he wants dan heng/imbibitor lunae to pay. "you haven't paid it yet"...

in this jingliu/jing yuan cinematic, we get a glimpse of what she was experiencing while mara-struck. trapped somewhere (imprisoned?), with voices listing off side effects of the mara... "no sense of time, humanity waning..."

his ultimate goal is to break free of this curse and return to [the cycle of samsara, i suppose]. him and dan feng had accrued a massive amount of karma, and without this cycle, it cannot be repaid. he is forever bound by karmic ties, unable to free himself from them. "i'm tied and bound / a wild beast crying for release"...

he wishes for the free will of mortals, allowing him to die and in turn be mourned.

I didn't think I'd take it as seriously as I did! 'It will just be lines' I said 'I won't color the lines accordingly' I said...

Im insane because I really didnt want to do either of those things! But as per being an artist, you do everything you say you won't.

Anyway... Yes I fucking airplane I love Kagero so much... May or may not have spoiled myself with his lore, bUT OH WELL- In my hours spent in Rise, I learned I have to do that urgent hub quest that's 1) a Rampage quest and 2) So fucking hard I got my ass kicked for the second time (fainted one other time with Magnamalo because Dumbass wouldn't stop just. Running up the mountain. And then he was like YIPPEE right into Magna's claws lmao)

So to cope with having done every single quest I can do with flying colors, I'm going to grind my way to get beyond that and kick some apex Azuros ass, I'm gonna simp over Kagero while doin' it too ✨
