huntchel | it’s on!
Hunter never thought for a second that he would ever make a grand return to Ohio, unless it was to visit his family, but there he was. It was only for a couple of semesters, but it was still taking him a lot of getting used to. He was living in New York City and attending NYU. The reason why he was actually back at Dalton was because it was a requirement for one of his classes. Hunter still wasn’t certain on what he wanted to do, but he knew that he wanted to have some involvement with the arts, but he was also very academically gifted. Teaching was a possibility, and having experience coaching The Warblers would definitely look great on his resume.
Of course, he had previous experience in leading the team, so that gave him a great advantage. He was a leader, and this was the perfect role for him and he settled back in at Dalton perfectly. Skylar, the star of the team, was like a young Blaine Anderson and was an absolute dream to work with. He took notes on board, and was a great leader himself. Honestly, Hunter didn’t have to do much tweaking with the guys on the team, they were all extremely talented. He didn’t go easy on them though, he made them work twice as hard to make sure they were perfect every time. It was a little tougher than what they were used to, but the results were worth it.
The time had come, and today was their day to show off their stuff at McKinley’s Invitational before Sectionals. He knew it would be a breeze, although he had heard that Rachel Berry was back in town to the lead The New Directions. Rachel Berry, The Broadway Star, be it for a brief time. He kept it to himself, but it concerned him slightly. He definitely didn’t let it show though, he kept his game face on as he marched into the McKinley auditorium, his blazer wearing team following closer behind him.
“Rachel Berry.” He announced as he approached her, voice booming. “My name’s Hunter Clarington. I thought I ought to introduce myself... Boys, go and rehearse.” He nodded to Skylar, and The Warblers disappeared backstage. “I assume you’ve heard of me, because I’ve certainly heard of you. Your television show was quite something.”

Karaoke Knockout || Berrington & Blainter
Date: March something
Location: Krazy Karaoke Bar, Minneapolis
Starring: Blaine Anderson, Scarlett Berry, Hunter Clarington @artisticanderson @scarlettsberry
Summary: Hunter really wants to be able to hang out with both his boyfriend and best friend together, much to their chagrin. They all agree to spend a fun evening at a karaoke bar where nothing should go awry... right?
Notes/Warnings: Underage drinking; written fic-style. Longest para ever omfg
After having spent time with his boyfriend as well as his best friend, Hunter was looking to spend time with the two of them together. He knew that Blaine and Scarlett didn’t exactly get along with each other but he’d hoped that they could spare a few hours together so he could have the best of both worlds. Managing to convince the two for a friendly outing at a karaoke bar, Hunter drove over to Blaine’s place with the intention of meeting Scarlett at the bar.
Alternatively, Blaine was not looking forward to the night ahead; he was trying his best to stay optimistic for the sake of his boyfriend. He promised Hunter that he would go into the evening with an open mind but if he were being honest he did not want to do it. He didn’t like that Hunter was so close to Scarlett; something about the girl rubbed him the wrong way.
“Ho, brah-- lookin’ slick, nah?” Duke greeted, opening the door for Hunter when the latter knocked, scratching the thick scruff on his chin.
Hunter didn’t know how this guy and Blaine could be related, let alone identical twins. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes and offered Duke a polite and cursory smile. “Hey, is Blaine ready?”
Almost as if on cue, Blaine came out into the living area, a smile spreading across his face at his handsome boyfriend. He had gotten dressed in his typical fashion: colorful chinos, button up and a bow tie that complimented the colors he chose. He had slicked his hair back just a little with some gel. The sight of Hunter made him a little less tense; at least he’d get to spend the night with him. The other grinned right back when his eyes landed on Blaine.
“Hey handsome,” Blaine greeted, coming up to the taller and kissing him gently. Opening his arms, Hunter welcomed his boyfriend into the kiss. “Yes, I am ready to go. You know, we could always just go to the movies or something.” The shorter suggested, grabbing his coat and putting it on. “No talking and such.” He half-joked.
“Oh, a movie wouldn’t be as fun,” Hunter told Blaine as he helped him with his coat. Hunter gave Blaine a once-over and clicked his tongue. “Damn, Anderson, you clean up really well. You look delicious.”
Blaine sighed softly when Hunter turned down his movie idea but his negative feeling was shooed away when his boyfriend complimented him on his appearance, a deep blush painting his cheeks. “Yeah? Well, you’re not so bad yourself.” He said in a gentle tone before saying goodbye to his brother and leaving with Hunter.
They made their way out into the cold evening air to Hunter’s car, walking hand-in-hand, Hunter excited to reach their next venue. “Besides, I want to sing a duet with you; I think it’d be fun,” the taller said as he thought about the evening ahead with optimism. “It really means a lot that you’re coming with me to do this. I know Scar’s not the easiest person to be around considering how abrasive she is, but, she’s also my friend.”
Blaine paused for a moment and he gave a slight smile accompanied by a shrug. “I know it means a lot to you, of course I’m going. You… You’re really important to me, Hunter.” He said softly as they stood there for a brief moment. “I want to show you that, and if that means making nice with Scarlett, then I’m willing to give it my best shot.”
Hunter squeezed Blaine’s hand and offered up a genuine and grateful smile. “You’re important to me, too. I appreciate you a lot.”
Being the gentleman he was, Blaine went ahead just a few steps, opening up the driver’s side door for his boyfriend. Once they were settled in the car, he smiled at the prospect of singing with the taller once they were at the bar. “What do you wanna sing with me?”
“I think something flirty and silly like one of those High School Musical songs you kiddos are singing these days would be fun,” Hunter joked, though he was actually trying to think of an entertaining duet for the both of them. He wasn’t exactly a performer but he could carry a tune moderately well.
Hunter fired up Pandora on his radio to find a good duet. “I think Summer Nights is a little overrated,” he commented as he skipped the song. Sonny and Cher’s I Got You Babe came on next and Hunter raised his eyebrows at his boyfriend. “A contender, perhaps?” They started on their way towards the bar but not before Hunter sent a text to Scarlett that they would be there soon.
Blaine chuckled softly at the mention of High School Musical, shaking his head. “Wow, Hunter, I didn't take you for the High School Musical type- but I am one hundred percent down to go for that,” he half-joked. As the made their way to the bar they were meeting Scarlett, Blaine smiled to himself as Hunter flipped through songs to find the perfect duet for them. He found it extremely cute that his boyfriend was so eager to find their song. Their song. It was romantic and it sent flutters throughout his stomach.
“While I don’t necessarily agree about Summer Nights being overrated, I can agree that it’s a bit cliche.” He smiled, settling in the passenger seat with his hand resting on the middle console, fingers laced with Hunter’s once more. “Sonny and Cher?” He asked as the song began, his own eyebrow quirking. “I actually really like that a lot.” He said in agreement as he looked over to Hunter. “I like you a lot.” Blaine bit his bottom lip gently. It seemed with every moment he spent with the other man he was falling a little faster for him.
Hunter smiled when their hands laced together, the warmth of Blaine’s hand seeping into his own. He liked that the young man was so in tune with physical affection. He gave him a slight squeeze with his hand, grinning at him. “I got you, babe,” he winked at Blaine. A few other songs played on the radio and Hunter wasn’t quite sure which he really wanted to sing; he might’ve found a more contemporary duet for them so he didn’t want to make any sure decisions yet. Hell, maybe Blaine and Scarlett might’ve ended up singing a friendly duet together to smooth things over.
“And for the record, I like you a lot, too. Maybe after this, you and I can enjoy some alone time together,” Hunter suggested. While he thought this outing with the three of them might be good, it was true that he was missing the one-on-one time he shared with his boyfriend.
Meanwhile…
Before Scarlett had even left her home, she had started to pre-game. She was not looking forward to the night ahead in the least bit. She despised being under the same roof as Blaine and doing so willingly was going against every fiber of her being. She wasn’t looking forward to watching him hang all over Hunter as if he really meant anything to the man. If he was so special, Hunter wouldn’t have kissed her back. He would’ve dumped her the moment he and Blaine became exclusive if he was. She was nobody and if Blaine was everything Hunter wouldn’t bother with her at all.
Not that she cared. Of course she didn’t care, she was Scarlett after all. All she cared about was winning-- it’s not as if she had feelings for Hunter.
She arrived at the bar with a nice little buzz, not enough to be drunk, but just enough to make her feel lighter going into the night. Scarlett waited outside for the two to show up, her body tucked inside of Hunter’s leather jacket she still had from their little rooftop rendezvous, smirking to herself. Maybe she was an instigator, but it was an innocent mistake-- she grabbed his instead of hers by accident-- Whoops. As she stood outside, she shoved her hands inside the pockets of Hunter’s jacket. “Wha-?” She asked as she pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter, smiling to herself. “Alright, Green. Thanks.” Scarlett said to herself, opening up the box to find a single stick left. Throwing the box away in a nearby trash can, she lit up the cigarette, holding it between her lips as she took a long drag. As she blew the smoke out into the cold air as she checked the time. Just about that time, her eyes landed on the man’s familiar car and she smirked.
When they pulled up to the bar, Hunter saw Scarlett out front before they even parked. “Looks like she’s already here,” he pointed her out to Blaine. The shorter rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. When they got out of the car, Hunter made it a point to stroll up to the place walking hand-in-hand with his boyfriend. It wasn’t to make Scarlett upset but to assuage Blaine’s feelings that this night wouldn’t go as planned. It helped a little when Hunter slipped his hand into Blaine’s, causing the other to stand a little taller and walk with a little more confidence as they made their way.
“Hey, Red,” Hunter greeted his close friend, noticing his leather jacket around her. She looked good in his jacket but he was smart enough not to say so out loud. “Did you get a head-start on a buzz?” he was debating with himself whether or not he would drink since Blaine was still underaged and would most likely be spending this night sober.
“Hey babe,” she said as the two approached, throwing one arm around Hunter’s neck to hug him as she flicked ash off her cigarette in the other direction. “Of course I pre-gamed, you know me.” Scarlett had noted the two holding hands before and a fire ignited inside of her. She wasn’t afraid of Blaine in the least bit, she had everything he couldn’t give to Hunter and she knew it.
Blaine gave Scarlett a once-over as she greeted Hunter, narrowing his eyes at the way she hugged him and called him babe. He wouldn’t say anything; he’d bite his tongue for now. He wanted to show Hunter he was trying his best. “Hello Scarlett,” he said politely. “It’s nice to see you again.”
Scarlett tore herself away from Hunter for a brief moment to look at Blaine, giving him a nod and an uncertain look. “Professor,” She said, reaching to tilt the man’s bow tie. “Nice bow tie.” Scarlett chuckled, looking at Hunter before taking a drag of the cigarette. “Want?” She offered him, a tiny grin tugging her lips.
Hunter declined the offer of a drag, chuckling. “Maybe later?” he looked back at his boyfriend, aware that he wouldn't really like that. Hunter made an effort not to smoke around Blaine since he knew he didn't like it. Besides, he was also trying to quit. He pointed towards the door, letting Scarlett know they were going to go inside.
Blaine raised his eyebrows as they entered the loud bar. People were already singing, loudly and off-key, others were cheering and clapping. It was loud and noisy and not really Blaine’s scene, but he wanted to make the most of it. He wanted to have fun.
“Hey,” Hunter gave Blaine's hand a little squeeze. “I'm here to have a good time with you; I don't need alcohol or cigarettes to do that, okay?” He wanted Blaine to know that this evening out was about having fun, not getting sloshed.
Blaine gave a shrug when Hunter spoke. “I wasn’t really aware that you smoked together,” he sighed softly, swallowing his feelings for a moment and squeezing Hunter’s hand back. “It’s fine, everything’s okay. I’m gonna go find the karaoke list and put us down for our duet, okay?” He gave his boyfriend a small, reassuring smile before letting go of his hand. “Get us a seat, I’ll be right back.” He pressed his lips to Hunter’s cheek before going off to find whoever was in charge of karaoke night, fixing his bow tie to put it back in place.
With a small sigh, Hunter nodded and did his best to stay positive. He knew Blaine was trying his best but he could tell he was already tense from such a short exchange. Hopefully with some drinks in Scarlett and some songs flowing between the three of them, they could find some semblance of friendliness. The man scanned the bustling bar for an empty bar-height table and claimed it, pulling out one of the chairs.
Scarlett waited for a few moments before squashing out her cigarette. Taking a deep breath, she went inside and headed straight for the bar to order herself a couple of shots to take before she ordered drinks for the three of them. “Thanks, love, put it on my tab. I’ll be back for more.” She winked as she picked up the drinks and headed out to find where Hunter had found a table. Noticing Blaine wasn’t next to Hunter, she quirked an eyebrow. “Aww, did the Professor leave already?” She asked, placing one of the drinks in front of Hunter. “And here I was nice enough to buy him a drink.”
“Haha, retract the claws a bit there, Red,” Hunter chuckled, eyeing the glass set in front of him. He wasn't going to drink unless Blaine was going to, too. “Blaine went to go put our names down for some karaoke. Are you going to do any singing? Or are you just here for the booze?”
Scarlett raised her eyebrows when Hunter told her to retract her claws. “Oh, baby, you should know me better than that by now. I’m being so nice, you can’t even see my claws right now,” she chuckled. “I bought the child a drink,” she said, taking a sip of her drink. “I’m here for the booze- I don’t sing.” She shook her head. “Rachel got the voice, I got the smarts.” Scarlett snorted, looking at the other. “Are you?” A wide grin spread across her face. “Are you going to sing tonight, hotshot?”
Hunter nodded in response. “Yeah, that's the whole point of coming to a karaoke bar, isn't it? I want to at least sing a couple of songs.” From Scarlett's wide grin he suddenly felt a little put on the spot and chuckled. “I mean, I'm no Broadway junkie like your sister but I sing in the shower sometimes; I'm pretty good.”
After Blaine successfully signed him and Hunter up for a duet, he even extended a little bit of kindness and signed Scarlett up as well so she wouldn’t have to worry with it. Making his way through the crowd, he finally made it to the table with his boyfriend and Scarlett. She was standing too close to him; he didn’t like it. He didn’t like the way she seemingly thought she had nearly a chance with him. It was desperate and sad. “What’d I miss?” He asked, coming up to Hunter’s other side, slipping his arm around the taller’s waist.
“Hey, you,” Hunter beamed when Blaine returned to his side, an arm draping over the shorter man's shoulders to bring him in closer.
Scarlett eyed the shorter as he tried his best to show her that Hunter was his. It was cute; she was amused. “Nothing at all, kiddo. Here, got you a drink,” she offered, pushing the glass of liquid to him.
“Oh,” he looked down, a little surprised by the gesture. “I can’t drink, I’m only twenty.” His automatic response made him internally roll his eyes.
The girl raised her eyebrows, laughing once as if the shorter had told a joke. She looked between Hunter and Blaine and then back to Hunter. “Oh,” her face dropped. “He’s serious? You’re serious?” She looked at Blaine again, snorting as she picked up her own drink. “Whatever, dude.” Scarlett sipped her drink, she knew he’d be a stick in the mud but she didn’t think he wouldn’t drink with them. “Maybe a drink would loosen your bow tie a little there, professor.”
“Blaine doesn't have to drink if he doesn't want to; we don't all have to be buzzed to have a good time, right?” Hunter spoke up, giving Blaine's arm a reassuring squeeze. He didn't want the younger man to feel pressured into getting drunk. “Here, I'll buy you a Shirley Temple,” he volunteered, waving a waitress down to get Blaine a non-alcoholic drink.
Scarlett rolled her eyes and just drank her drink, doing her best to bite her tongue.
Blaine appreciated the way Hunter stood up for him but he still felt the pressure from Scarlett— he didn’t want her or Hunter to think of him as some stupid little kid. “No,” he reached for Hunter’s arm to stop him. “No, it’s fine, Scarlett was nice enough to get me a drink, I’ll drink it,” he said, almost uncertain. But as he exchanged looks with the girl he felt a little more confident in his choice. Taking the glass, he downed the alcoholic beverage and slammed the glass down on the table as it burned all the way down his throat.
Scarlett watched with an amused smirk as Blaine gave in and downed the drink. “Good boy,” she said, turning to the waitress and ordering another round on her.
Hunter on the other hand, watched with a bit of surprise as his boyfriend downed the drink. “Wow, Blaine, that’s, uh, actually kind of impressive… Not to mention hot,” he smiled.
The shorter man leaned more into his boyfriend as the crowds went wild for the person who was just finished singing and the emcee came on stage to announce the next singer and Scarlett heard her name come out of the man’s mouth.
“Excuse me?” She said, squinting at the stage.
“Oh! I signed you up already so you didn’t have to wait in that long line,” Blaine said with a smile, looking at her with a genuine smile. Hunter raised his eyebrows and laughed, nodding along.
“Oh, no, no.” Scarlett shook her head. “I don’t sing, no thanks.”
Blaine’s forehead wrinkled and his smile fell slightly. “Oh… I’m sorry, I thought you wanted to sing? It’s karaoke night, you have to sing!” he encouraged with another smile.
“Yeah, c’mon-- this is a karaoke bar, Red. You have to sing at least one song,” Hunter encouraged her as well-- or, challenged her. “Don’t tell me you’re too afraid to get up on stage and sing one little song?”
Scarlett didn’t appreciate the peer pressure coming right back onto her and normally she wouldn’t give in to such stupid challenges but with Hunter looking at her and with Blaine sitting there like he was so great, it got the best of her. “Fuck off, Green,” she said, downing her new drink and leaving the table to move to take her place on the stage. She whispered in the ear of the emcee to make sure they had her song. Taking the microphone into her hand, she looked out at the crowd of drunk people, butterflies in her stomach. She hated being in front of people, she hated being on stage, she felt extremely uncomfortable but she wasn’t going to let Professor Bowtie show her up.
“This is for all you bitches out there,” she pointed to the crowd before her finger landed on Hunter. “Especially you, Hunt.” She winked before clearing her throat as the opening chords to Bitch by Meredith Brooks began. Hunter blinked then, glancing at his boyfriend before turning his eyes back to her onstage.
I hate the world today You're so good to me I know but I can't change Tried to tell you But you look at me like maybe I'm an angel underneath Innocent and sweet
Scarlett’s voice shook as she sang, she wasn’t the greatest singer in the world-- Rachel was definitely more talented than she was-- but she wasn’t as bad as she thought she was. As the girl sang, she began to work the stage a little, feeling the buzz of the alcohol working throughout her bloodstream, giving her just a little more confidence. She strut across the floor and flipped her hair for the audience.
Hunter bobbed his head along to the beat, a slight smile as he watched the girl garner up her confidence.
I'm a bitch, I'm a lover I'm a child, I'm a mother I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I do not feel ashamed I'm your hell, I'm your dream I'm nothing in between You know you wouldn't want it any other way
After the chorus, Scarlett was getting even more into the song. The hot stage lights were making her cheeks a little red along with with the alcohol. Placing the mic on the mic stand, she smirked at the audience as she began to sing the next part of the song. Making a scene of stripping off Hunter’s leather jacket, showing off her skin as she wore only a little black tank top underneath, Scarlett seduced the audience and they cheered for her, a couple of guys hollering over the music at her. “Yeah, baby, take it off!” Wolf whistles that made her smirk a little bigger, tossing the jacket over a stool placed on the stage for the ballad singers.
Hunter chuckled under his breath, sure that Scarlett was probably thriving and enjoying all the attention. Seeing her work the audience was entertaining and his smile only grew as she continued her song.
Scarlett’s eyes had found their way to her ex-lover back at their table. By that point in the song, all of Scarlett’s nerves were hidden by a new confidence that the audience and liquor had given her. “I'm a bitch, I'm a tease, I'm a goddess on my knees.” She winked directly at Hunter, causing Blaine’s forehead to wrinkle.
When you hurt, when you suffer I'm your angel undercover I've been numb, I'm revived Can't say I'm not alive You know I wouldn't want it any other way.
When she was finished, the bar erupted into applause and all of those men wolf-whistling her once again, causing her to chuckle and take a bow. She grabbed Hunter’s jacket and slipped it back on before hopping off the stage and making her way back to the table, though she was stopped a couple of times and given a number or two that she slipped into her bra with a devilish smirk at her suitors.
Hunter was wearing a half-amazed, half-surprised expression when she had returned. She was amazing and really owned that stage, even if some of her flirting might've been deemed just a tad inappropriate. Still, Hunter was impressed.
Blaine had been shifting his focus between Hunter and the girl on stage, watching his boyfriend’s face carefully as he reacted to the way she performed. He couldn’t get a complete read on Hunter’s face just from those couple of minutes alone, but the amazed expression was a little unsettling. He shook his head to shake off the feeling and clapped for the girl as politely as possible.
“Way to go, Red-- The audience loves you!” Hunter said with a grin, handing her a drink the waiter had brought by while she'd been on stage. “I think Blaine did you a huge favor by getting you up on that stage.”
While Blaine found her performance incredibly inappropriate, he did admire that she swallowed her fears and got up there anyway. “He’s right, they love you.”
Scarlett giggled softly, taking the drink from Hunter. “Of course they do,” she downed the drink quickly as to not lose her buzz. “Yeah, Professor,” Scarlett said, looking at Blaine and reaching down in her bra to grab the numbers she’d accumulated on her way back to the table. “Thanks to you, I’ve got some prospects for a new fuck buddy.” She chuckled at her own inside joke, before looking at the couple in front of her.
“Oh,” Blaine’s expression went from vaguely impressed to mildly judgmental as the girl declared finding a fuck buddy, the heaviness of the word new going right over his head.
Hunter, however, caught her statement as soon as she had said it. Seeing as how Blaine hadn't realized she was indirectly talking about Hunter, there was no reason for the latter to say anything. “Classy,” Hunter commented, shaking his head. “Well you definitely got that crowd warmed up for when Blaine and I take the stage.” Thinking that since Blaine had helped himself to a drink, Hunter decided to take a few sips from his own. He'd be careful not to drink too much in case he needed to drive everyone home.
Scarlett couldn’t help but chuckle again at Hunter’s comment. “Classy is my middle name, Green.” She said, winking at him as she waved to the waitress to get another drink.
The use of the nicknames was beginning to really wear on Blaine’s nerves and this time he mirrored her amused laugh. “Ah ha ha, so fun. You two and your nicknames, so cute, what’s the story there?” He crinkled his nose, his jealousy showing only a minuscule amount. “You two are pretty close, huh?”
Hunter could sense Blaine’s tension but maybe explaining the story behind the nicknames would put that tension to rest. “Well, we’d gotten into an argument because Scarlett’s name is literally just ‘Red Berry’ and so I started calling her ‘Red’, and well-- my name is Hunter, so…” he trailed off and shrugged his shoulders. “Didn’t really expect the two of us to become friends since we started off on rocky waters but it’s kind of funny how stuff like that works out sometimes.” Internally he’d hoped that the same could happen for Blaine and Scarlett as well.
The shorter man listened to his boyfriend’s explanation, thinking it kind of endearing that the two had started off on less than ideal terms but had grown closer as friends. He would’ve found it even more endearing had it been anyone but Scarlett. But he could tell that Hunter really liked having her as a friend so he took a breath to ease his nerves a little, trying a bit more genuinely.
“That’s actually a really cute story,” he nodded, giving a tiny smile. “I’m, um, really glad Hunter has a close friend.” He rephrased himself to sound less accusatory.
Grinning at the boy, Scarlett chuckled softly. It took every bit of self control she had left to bite her tongue and not make some cheeky comment regarding how close she and Hunter actually were. “Yeah, really close,” she said, taking a step closer to Hunter and tossing her arm around his neck. “Best buds, right, Hunt?” she crinkled her nose back at Blaine, giggling as she took a new drink from the waitress.
Scarlett turned her attention briefly to the waitress, a smirk settled on her lips. “Hey beautiful, keep ‘em coming and maybe later I’ll return the favor,” she winked at the girl, who blushed and walked away with a giggle. She made a point to flirt with anyone she could, hoping that somewhere deep down it would get to Hunter. Though, she was well aware he was probably too dumb and had his head too far up Blaine’s ass to even notice.
Not that she cared-- of course she didn’t care. She just would like for him to be as uncomfortable as she was if, hypothetically, she did happen to let anything between the two men get to her.
“Sure, we’re definitely best buds,” Hunter replied honestly, feeling that he had never had a connection with another person quite like he had with Scarlett. “Do you think it’s a good idea to be hanging around me if you’re trying to pick up a fuck buddy, though? People might get the wrong idea,” he told her, though he made no move to push her away.
Scarlett looked at Hunter in the eye as he commented and yet still let her stay close to him, a grin quirking the corner of her lips.
Blaine’s brow furrowed as he watched the brief exchange between Hunter and Scarlett, letting out another chuckle. “Uh, why would anyone get the wrong idea?”
The girl looked at Blaine and then back at Hunter. “Yeah, Hunt, why would anyone get the wrong idea?” She said, not taking her eyes off of him. “You and the professor are very clearly gay for each other. Besides, no one here would ever believe I’d be with you,” Scarlett teased him, pushing herself off of him with a snort. “You wish you could get in these pants, bub.”
Hunter chuckled nervously, not having realized that he’d almost let his previous with Scarlett unintentionally slip. “Uh, because you’re hanging onto me and it kind of looks like we’re together?” he pointed out, maneuvering out of her hold and scooting over to Blaine. He wrapped his arm around the smaller man in a similar fashion, giving the girl a pointed look. He didn’t even bother addressing the fact that he wished he could have her. “See? Now it’s clear that Blaine and I are together.”
Scarlett laughed out loud, the alcohol clearly running through her in full force. “You’re such a fucking idiot, Green,” she said, placing her elbow on the table to rest her chin on her hand as she looked at Hunter, returning his pointed look. “It’s clear that you and Bowties are going to make me vomit.”
“Oh, shut up; don’t act like you don’t have a heart,” Hunter teased right back, assuming she was just trying to reject that he and Blaine were open about their feelings.
With his brow only furrowing deeper, keeping a close eye on the two in front of him-- mostly Scarlett-- he felt a bit more uncomfortable than he had the rest of the night. Something wasn’t settling well in him and he was beginning to regret coming out. He stayed quiet for a moment before he noticed the red ink on the side of Scarlett’s hand, tilting his head just a little to make out the tattoo on her hand in the dimmed lighting. “You have Hunter’s name on your hand...” he stated rather than asked. “That’s…” He shook his head-- what was he even doing here? “That’s great.”
Scarlett raised her eyebrows, looking down at her hand. “Ah, fuck my bandage fell off,” she complained, looking down and around for it briefly. After half a moment she gave up and shrugged, looking at Blaine. “Yeah, you know, your boyfriend will literally do anything,” Scarlett snorted as she leaned into the table as if telling Blaine a secret.
“Yeah, she took us out to get tattoos,” Hunter explained, feeling unashamed and comfortable as he shared the story. He looked at Blaine as he continued, “She got an actual berry inked on me but I was much nicer and chose my name.” Then he looked back at Scarlett with a grin, “I can only imagine your face if I got a deer trophy or something equally stupid tattooed on you.”
Scarlett laughed, rolling her eyes. “Considering how stupid you are I’m honestly surprised you chose something so nice.”
Blaine listened to Hunter’s story and his insides tightened with jealousy and confusion. He was confused at how lax Hunter was about having matching tattoos with the girl- especially considering the tattoo she had. It wasn’t like he didn’t know what the red string symbolized. He felt extremely tense and uncomfortable. But before he or Scarlett could respond, the emcee announced Blaine’s and Hunter’s name, calling them to the stage.
“Hey! We’re up,” Hunter said excitedly, taking his boyfriend’s hand and making their way up to the stage. “Feeling nervous?”
Blaine let Hunter lead him up to the stage, not saying anything until he was addressed. Raising his eyebrows just a little, Blaine shrugged. “No, not really.” He seemed less enthused about karaoke than before.
“Woo, Hunt! Shake that sexy ass, baby!” A drunken Scarlett called across the bar, followed by an obnoxious laugh.
Hunter laughed and shook his head at her, waving off her comment with an amused expression on his face. It was obvious the girl was drunk.
Pressing his lips together, Blaine was irritated. He was irritated that he felt so inferior to Scarlett and that she felt like she could just say and do whatever she pleased especially at and with his boyfriend. He tried his best to not let her get to him, taking a couple of deep breaths. Yeah, it sucked to learn his boyfriend had a matching tattoo with her-- that his boyfriend chose a soulmate tattoo for her, even-- but at the end of the day Hunter was his officially and that meant he had something the taller couldn’t get from the girl. There was something about him that Hunter wanted more than just some superficial friendship. That’s all the two were anyway, friends. He didn’t know why he was so bothered by her.
Letting out a soft sigh, Blaine looked at Hunter before they went on stage. He didn’t know what to say or how to express his feelings without sounding like a total insecure baby about it but he didn’t want to lie to his boyfriend about his feelings. “I’m sorry, I just… I don’t feel as into this as when we first got here..” He shook his head. “I want to sing with you, I do. I just… want it to be genuine.” He voiced his concern.
Hunter hooked a finger under Blaine's chin, forcing him to look directly into his steely grey eyes. “Hey, don’t think about anything else but us right now. Forget Scarlett and her obnoxious comments or all the people at this bar; this song is just for you and me, right here and right now.”
Blaine looked up at Hunter with his golden eyes, he melted at the way the older looked at him, the way he spoke to him. He let his eyes flutter for a moment before he took a deep breath, a smile spreading across his face as the negative feelings seemingly rolled of his back. “Mm, you’re pretty good at making me feel better,” he said softly, leaning up on his toes to kiss Hunter sweetly.
Hunter reciprocated the kiss with a smile. “Good. I like making you feel better,” he said to him, brushing a thumb gently against his cheek and enjoying their little moment before they were ushered onto the stage.
Meanwhile Scarlett stayed back at their table, having a couple more drinks so she could achieve her drunken sweet spot so that she would be able to stomach the rest of the evening. She flirted with the waitress a little until she was called away again and Scarlett was once again left by herself. She felt horny and irritated and all she wanted to do was go back to Hunter’s place and hate-fuck him into his mattress. A flash of her riding him and reminding him through gritted teeth who makes him feel good ran through her mind and she shivered. “Ugh, gross.” She shook off her feelings and pulled her phone out of her pocket, sending a drunk text to the Clarington she could have her way with later if she wanted.
The song title came onto the screen and Hunter looked to his boyfriend with a silly grin spread across his face.
I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher. A romantic and fitting duet for the two of them, at least according to Hunter.
When the opening notes started playing, Hunter grabbed a microphone and handed another to Blaine, the shorter taking it promptly as he followed Hunter to the middle of the stage. They stood front and center, though Hunter's attention was fully on his boyfriend. As the lyrics popped up and noted that Cher's part was first, Hunter pointed to himself and opted to take the lead. He opened his mouth and started singing along to the tune, although in his octave.
They say we're young and we don't know We won't find out until we grow
Scarlett groaned and rolled her eyes as Hunter started to sing. Of course he was good at it, anything to make him even more attractive. When the next line scrolled onto the screen, Hunter reached out to hold Blaine's hand as he swayed to the melody. Blaine took his boyfriend’s hand as Hunter sang, looking up at him sweetly, all of his tension seemed to have vanished and it was only the two of them.
Well I don't know if all that's true 'Cause you got me, and baby I got you
Hunter grinned as Blaine sang to him. With the next line, they would harmonize beautifully. Blaine didn’t take his eyes off Hunter as they sang, his stomach failing with butterflies. He liked the way Hunter had been able to make him feel better and pull him into that present moment to enjoy it.
Babe I got you babe I got you babe
Scarlett watched the performance with a wrinkled forehead, partly amused and partly disgusted. The way Blaine looked at Hunter made her want to vomit with his big stupid piss-yellow eyes.
The shorter man’s mind wandered as they continued their song, he imagined a life with Hunter and he imagined this being their song— them dancing at their wedding. He began to think that maybe he was worried for nothing; Hunter seemingly only had eyes for him in that moment.
The girl’s eyes drifted over to Hunter’s face and she watched as the room spun around him. She didn’t buy it, she didn’t buy the way he looked at Blaine at all. There was no way that he was more into that muppet than her— never mind she was the one who didn’t want anything more than a warm body.
As the couple continued to sing, Hunter pulled Blaine closer to him and the two swayed together to the beat. As the taller man gazed down and the shorter stared up, the rest of the world seemingly vanished.
“I got you, babe,” Hunter more spoke than sang to his boyfriend, the lyrics acting as a promise for him.
Scarlett watched Hunter through narrow eyes as he looked at Blaine, taking his lyrics so seriously. She sighed as she looked down at the table at Blaine and Hunter’s abandoned drinks, she needed them more than they did so she downed them and when everyone around her clapped she joined in with obnoxious hollering. She was actually really impressed by Hunter’s abilities and by the time the new alcohol mixed with the old alcohol she was semi-impressed by Blaine as well.
When the song was coming to an end, the music still playing on the speakers, Hunter pulled Blaine in for a tender kiss in front of their little audience and Blaine melted right into it. They garnered a handful of aw's but it didn't matter to him. All that mattered in that moment right now to Hunter was Blaine and vice versa. Blaine gripped tightly at Hunter’s shirt as they kissed and he knew he was 100% falling in love with the man in front of him.
When the two took their final bows, Blaine held his hand tightly, their fingers laced together. He pulled him close to steal another kiss when they were off the stage. He felt so much better in that moment than he had five minutes before.
Hunter smiled against the kiss, very glad to see that Blaine's confidence and comfort had returned after their duet. They walked back hand-in-hand all the way to their table.
“Well, well, well, look who has actual talent,” Scarlett said as the two approached, giggling softly as she reached for Hunter’s arm, tugging him closer. “You didn’t tell me you had talent, oh, my sister would be all over you.” Any thin layer of boundaries that Scarlett might’ve had was completely gone with those last two drinks. “And you, you did okay too, Professor,” she said, squishing Blaine’s face between her hands.
And just like that, Blaine was annoyed again. Forcing his polite smile, trying not to let her get to him. “Thanks, Scarlett,” he said, tightening his hold on Hunter’s hand as Scarlett closed in on their personal space, pulling his face from her hold. “You do know my name is Blaine don’t you?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.
“Oh, I know,” she chuckled. “You’re so funny.” Scarlett said before looking at Hunter, placing her hands on his chest.
Hunter narrowed his eyes as he looked at the girl, realizing that she was probably further gone than any of them would've liked. With her all over him like this, even he was getting a little annoyed. “Alright, alright,” he chuckled awkwardly as he tried to pull her off of him and keep her upright. “Looks like someone has had a little too much of that juice.” With all the drinks empty, he knew she'd had too much in such a short amount of time. He flagged down a waitress to get Scarlett a glass of water.
“But I have to agree,” Hunter continued, “Blaine and I make great duet partners. Maybe in an alternate universe we could've become performers for a living,” he joked.
Scarlett shook her head. “Too much? Never,” she leaned against Hunter as she looked over at Blaine and smiled at him. “Isn’t this great? Isn’t he great?” She looked up at Hunter. “You’re really great.” She squished his face between her hand.
With a heavy sigh, Blaine let go of Hunter’s hand and shook his head. “I’m going to use the bathroom.” He excused himself and walked away from the two, needing a moment just to himself, he was beginning to feel even more upset than before and he wanted to calm himself. Blaine didn’t like losing his composure.
“Uh huh,” Scarlett said, not taking her eyes off Hunter’s mouth, still having it smooshed in her hand. “You’re really pretty, you know that?”
Hunter watched with a frown as Blaine left them to go to the bathroom; the older man could tell that Scarlett’s physical affection was really bothering him. “Hey,” the man gently grabbed onto her hands and moved them away from him yet again. “Can you cool it with all the touchy-feely? It’s making Blaine upset; you’re sloshed but I know you can tell. What’s your deal? You said you’d at least attempt to play nice.”
Scarlett pouted when Hunter took her hands off of him and she huffed. “What? I am being nice.” She said, crossing her arms, her stance very child-like. “It isn’t my fault he’s some big insecure baby. Maybe he’s making me upset, huh, you ever think of that, Sparky?” she asked him with raised eyebrows, her words slurring ever so slightly. “Don’t see you tell him to cool it.” Scarlett tapped the taller’s chest with her finger.
With a confused look on his face, Hunter shook his head. “What has Blaine done to make you upset?” he asked, trying to think back to anything the boy could’ve done. “Signing you up to sing that song? You were amazing and the crowd loved you; you can’t be mad at him for that..!”
The girl looked up at him for a moment and she laughed. “You think I’m mad at him for that?” She shook her head. “Fuck, Hunt, you’re hilarious. Of course that’s not why I hate him. You’d know if you weren’t so dumb.” She gripped onto his shirt and seemingly tripped over her foot without even moving, almost losing her balance. “That wasn’t even that big of a deal-- I’d fuckin’ do it again!”
“Whoa, hey,” Hunter reached out and grabbed onto Scarlett, steadying her as he pulled her body against his own. He wasn’t sure what she was getting at by calling him dumb but he didn’t appreciate it. “Then I don’t get it-- why the fuck do you hate Blaine so much?” he pressed on for a straight answer, trying to look her in the eye.
“He thinks he’s so much better than me because he has you all to himself.” She rolled her eyes, pushing against Hunter’s body, the feeling of their bodies pressed together was overwhelming for her and she didn’t want any part of it. “I’ll show him-- I’m better than him,” she said as she stomped off away towards the stage to get her name back on that list.
Hunter was left by himself, the gears and cogs in his brain working to figure out what the heck Scarlett was trying to tell him. Why was she all caught up in wanting to be better than Blaine? What did that even mean? He watched her with sheer confusion.
“You’re in luck, sweetheart. One last spot just for you,” the emcee said to her as he handed over the mic.
Scarlett kissed the man on the cheek and stumbled up onto the stage, grabbing the stand for support as she cleared her throat. “This one's for me, because I fucking love myself,” she slurred, the bar remembering her from before and applauding for her, hollering for her as the song True Love by Pink began to play.
Hunter folded his arms over his chest, waiting for her to sing. He wasn't familiar with the song or the lyrics and it was clear from Scarlett's behavior that she wasn't just singing another song to get away from the conversation.
After a few deep breaths, Blaine collected himself before attempting to shake Scarlett off. Making his way back out to where he’d left the two, he glanced up at the stage, noticing Scarlett was once again up there. “What is she doing?” he asked as he approached Hunter.
“I… I'm not sure,” Hunter replied, his eyes not leaving the brunette onstage.
Sometimes I hate every single stupid word you say Sometimes I wanna slap you in your whole face There's no one quite like you, you push all my buttons down I know life would suck without you
Scarlett worked the stage effortlessly as now she’d lost all of her inhibitions.
At the same time, I wanna hug you I wanna wrap my hands around your neck You're an asshole but I love you And you make me so mad, I ask myself Why I'm still here, or where could I go You're the only love I've ever known But I hate you, I really hate you So much I think it must be true love, true love It must be true love Nothin' else can break my heart like True love, true love It must be true love No one else can break my heart like you.
As the girl sang her heart out, unintentional meaning dripping behind every word she sang, she danced around carelessly. The crowd loved her even more the second time around and she was eating up all of the attention.
Hunter watched as Scarlett more or less sang this song to him, and it clicked. As he watched her, his eyes grew bigger and the realization hit him like a billboard in middle of a hurricane.
She liked him.
Maybe she even loved him.
With the new knowledge that she might harbor romantic feelings for him, Hunter began to open up his mind. She was practically telling him through song that a future together existed. He didn't have to settle for Blaine.
Oh.
Hunter froze and his body went stiff at the thought. Was he just settling for Blaine because he had thought this entire time that Scarlett wasn't an option? He'd been told by Scarlett herself that a future together wasn't a possibility. Yet now, here Scarlett was, telling him the exact opposite.
The entire time Hunter’s head was spinning, Scarlett worked that stage, her singing in the background felt muffled to Blaine as he watched his boyfriend watch the girl on the stage. Blaine carefully gauged every single moment, every twitch, he watched as Hunter came to a realization that Blaine had known since the three met one another.
“God, she's so fucking drunk,” Hunter told Blaine, looking away from the stage and swallowing his thoughts and feelings-- putting them into a deep, dark pit in his stomach. “We should get her an Uber home or something… We should've just gone out to a movie like you'd suggested earlier.” Hunter waved down the waitress so he could settle up their bill and hopefully soon end this night.
Blaine’s brow furrowed at the way Hunter was suddenly so ready to leave and a cold feeling coiled itself up in Blaine’s stomach. He didn’t say anything, just continuing to observe the energy in the room between Hunter and Scarlett- he felt like a third wheel. He only nodded when Hunter had said they should’ve just gone out to a movie. Scarlett would’ve had to been quiet. “It’s fine,” he finally spoke up. We can just go whenever she’s finished.” His voice was quieter than it had been as his own wheels in his mind were turning.
When another thunderous applause erupted, signaling the end of her performance, Blaine shook his head a little. He didn’t understand what made her so great.
The girl came off the stage to join her friends a little less enthusiastically than she’d left. “Ugh, i don’t know how performers do it, I’m exhausted,” she said, rubbing her stomach gently. “And I don’t feel so good.”
“Usually people don’t do multiple songs with so much energy when they’re drunk,” Blaine quipped, crossing his arms.
Hunter just remained quiet, watching the two and their back-and-forth.
Scarlett raised her eyebrows, chuckling at him. “Well look at you, Professor-- so much smarter than me aren’t you?”
Blaine didn’t say anything, only looking away and raising his eyebrows.
With another laugh, Scarlett looked to Hunter. God, how she wanted him. “Hey baby, you wanna pay for mine too? I’m don’t feel so well,” she said, reaching into her pocket. “Gonna call Al and she if she’ll pick me up and take me to bed if you catch my drift.” Scarlett scrolled through her phone, squinting at the bright screen before she found Alex’s name. She’d come to realize that the next best thing to getting Hunter in bed was his sister. “Hey Alex, baby, you free tonight?”
Blaine looked at her as she spoke, looking back at Hunter. “Is that your sister?” He tilted his head. “I’m so confused,” Blaine mumbled under his breath.
Hunter hid the grimace on his face as he searched for his wallet and only nodded when she asked if he would cover for her drinks as well. “Yeah, they're sleeping together,” Hunter replied to Blaine rather flatly. He knew Blaine might question his distaste for jealousy, as Alex had before, so he followed up immediately with an explanation. “It's not my favorite thing to have the image of my friend and my sister getting it on.”
After closing up their tab, Hunter took Blaine's hand into his own. “So Alex is going to come get you? I trust you not to do something stupid like attempting to drive home?” he asked. Although the night's revelations left a weight in his stomach he didn't know what to do with, he knew he still cared about Scarlett. “I think Blaine and I are all karaoke'd out.”
Scarlett looked at Hunter, raising her eyebrow. “Don’t you worry about me, Hunt,” she said, looking him in the eyes. She looked vaguely pale and like she was gonna throw up but she kept her composure. She reached into her pocket for her keys, walking up to him and pushing them into his front pocket, not taking her eyes from his. “There, now I can’t do anything stupid,” she said before looking at Blaine. “Professor, I wish I could say it was nice spending time with you.” Scarlett patted his shoulders before slipping her hands into Hunter’s jacket that she was still wearing. “Now if you’ll excuse me,” she rummaged in the pockets a little before pouting. “Gonna see if Hunt left anymore cigarettes in his jacket. Toodles.” She blew them a kiss and stumbled her way out of the bar to wait for Alex.
Blaine watched the girl with raised eyebrows, taken aback by her words and actions. He really didn’t like that girl. He’d given her the benefit of the doubt and tried to be nice to her and give her a chance but they just didn’t mesh. He didn’t say anything to her before she left, only opening his mouth to speak when she left after having made the implication that she was wearing Hunter’s jacket. “Is… Is she wearing your jacket?” he asked, looking up at Hunter as the girl disappeared.
Hunter furrowed his brow, also taken aback by Scarlett's actions. One minute she was practically confessing her feelings for him and the next she was jumping into bed with his sister. Although Hunter prided himself on knowing Scarlett pretty well considering they hadn't known each other for very long, the evening left him utterly confused. Confused about her, confused about his feelings for her, and confused about where their relationship stood.
“Yeah. I lent it to her whenever we last hung out because she'd gotten her clothes wet from some snow,” he explained, too preoccupied with his inner thoughts to really realize this was yet another reason for Blaine to feel insecure. Hunter and Scarlett were awfully close, after all. “She probably chose today to wear it to get under your skin… typical.” He rolled his eyes then, feigning disgust. In actuality, he knew it was completely within her character and she had just the overbearing amount of sass and snark to do something like that.
With the girl having left, Hunter reached out for Blaine's hand and took it into his own. “Can I do something to make this up to you? Flirty duet aside, this didn't go how I wanted.”
Blaine just gave a nod when hunter explained why she had his jacket. “Oh.” Was all he said. He didn’t much care for that explanation but he wasn’t sure what he expected exactly. Letting Hunter take his hand, he gave a little shrug. “I don’t know, let’s just… go?” He asked.
“Yeah, getting out of here will be the first step of shaking this evening off,” Hunter agreed, leading the way back to his car. “I know you tried really hard to be nice to Scarlett… for my sake. But, after tonight, I won't ask anymore.”
“It’s okay,” the shorter said, following Hunter back to his car. He stayed quiet the whole way, the events of the evening replaying in his mind. He let out a sigh before stopping next to the car. Closing his eyes, he rubbed his face a little. “You’re in love with her, aren’t you?” he asked, looking at the taller with his golden eyes.
Hunter shook his head. “No, no I'm not,” he denied, “She and I are friends and that's literally it. Maybe if she wasn't so jaded and abrasive I'd be able to tolerate her more but--” Hunter cut himself off when he realized he was rambling a bit. “We're just friends-- I promise.” He gave Blaine's hand a light squeeze. “I only have eyes for you, Blaine. I want you to be my boyfriend-- not her.”
Blaine wanted to feel comforted by Hunter’s words and the feeling of their hands together but he just couldn’t shake it. “It’s just, she’s clearly in love with you. She all but flat out told you that in there— and the way you look at her. The way you treat her. She asked you to pay her tab and you just did. She called you baby. She's wearing your jacket.” As he listed all of the things he just began to feel worse. Looking up at Hunter still, he felt extremely insecure in that moment. “I want you, Hunter. I know you want me too, I just...I don’t know how much. I don’t know if you even realize yourself the way you look at her.”
Hunter listened to his boyfriend. Knowing the way Scarlett was, this was possibly the first time since Danny that she'd developed feelings beyond a quick fuck and maybe she was having a difficult time dealing with that. “She calls my sister pet names, too. That doesn't mean anything to her; it isn't like when I call you ‘babe'. She's told me herself that she doesn't do feelings or relationships. Maybe she doesn't realize it herself but she has to figure out her own feelings and come to terms that I'm with you.” Hunter let out a sigh as he scratched the back of his neck. “She likes to flaunt the fact that she and I are friends but she's not in a relationship with me.”
Gently, Hunter pointed at Blaine, his index finger resting just above his heart. His demeanor changed slightly and he offered a small smirk. “You're in a relationship with me. I can't help that I'm hot stuff and seemingly everyone wants a piece of me but I'm yours.”
Blaine listened as Hunter spoke, sighing softly. He still felt something uncomfortable and uncertain deep down. When Hunter pointed at him, that sly little smirk on his face, it made Blaine chuckle. It lightened his mood just a little. He wanted to believe him, he wanted to believe Hunter so much. If he were being honest with himself, the taller had given no real indication on why he shouldn’t trust him. Maybe he was reading way too much into everything because of his own insecurities, maybe what he saw today was nothing but two really close friends. He gave a tiny smile. “Yeah? You’re mine? Promise?”
“Only yours, babe,” Hunter winked, his hang slinging around Blaine's waist and bringing him in for a kiss. He hummed softly into the kiss and when they broke, Hunter flashed his usual grin at him. “I don't go around kissing my friends like that. You're special.”
The shorter seemed to melt once again into Hunter as they kissed, the man’s kiss seemingly able to make him weak in the knees. Placing his hands on Hunter’s chest, he bit on his bottom lip. “Okay, okay, I’m just...I’m just being silly. I’m sorry. I trust you. Just because she’s in love with you doesn’t mean you reciprocate it.” He promised before leaning up to kiss Hunter once again. “Maybe we can continue this at your place?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hunter’s grin only widened as he felt Blaine become comfortable and at ease once again. The taller man happily kissed him back and waggled his eyebrows at the mention of going back to his place. “Mm, Blaine Anderson, I thought you’d never ask,” he laughed and moved to open the car door for his boyfriend.
When Hunter got into the car and started on the way home, he smiled as he held Blaine’s hand in his own. But still the revelations of the night weigh heavily in his heart. Although he wouldn’t let it show-- especially tonight-- Hunter wasn’t going to let this mess up his relationship with his boyfriend. He genuinely liked Blaine and wanted continue this. Even if that meant he liked Scarlett, too.

Still forever thankful for J (avidlyadam) and her Hunter Clarington. We still play together after four years almost and we've recently fallen into a hole of Huntchel/Berrington and there is no one else in the world I would rather have opposite my Rachel than her. I love you always, Hunt.

The L Word || Berrington
Date: November 16th.
Location: Santana Lopez’s residence and The Berry’s home.
Starring: Rachel Berry and Hunter Clarington ( @cockyclarington )
Notes: Rachel has too much to drink at Santana’s birthday party and Hunter takes her home to take care of her-- leading her to spill some feelings all over...along with other things.
Rachel Berry:
It was well into the night and Rachel was having a great time. She had gone into the night looking forward to it and staying optimistic that at Santana’s birthday party they could stay away from any drama happening around them-- unfortunately Puckerman had showed up and caused a little trouble.
Regardless of anything that had gone on, however, Rachel kept drinking. She started out drinking one slowly, getting that nice, warm feeling in her body. But a few hours into the party she was well past her limit and she was laughing at everything, she loved everyone and she couldn’t keep her hands off Hunter, staying close to him and pulling him out to dance-- dancing a bit dirtier than she would have had she been sober.
She wasn’t sure what number drink she was on but she felt very good and extremely attracted to her boyfriend. “You’re my boyfriend.” Her tone was a drunken mess as she pulled the taller close to her, giggling as she danced with him. “I think that you are just so pretty. Isn’t- isn’t he pretty?” She said louder to someone standing nearby, she wasn’t even sure who it was by that point.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter had drank very conservatively at the party since he knew he had to drive home. He allowed himself a beer or two, making sure to drink a good amount of water between them. Tonight was about having fun and not about getting sloppy-- Puck being at the party wasn’t going to distract him from having a good time. Even barely buzzed, he was doing just that-- catching up with everyone and getting to know them a little better. What really amused him the most was how Rachel seemed to let go and maybe she overdid it on the alcohol a bit. The drunker she became, the more protective he found himself, clinging closely to her to make sure she didn’t stumble and hurt herself. It didn’t seem like Hunter had much to worry about, however, because Rachel didn’t seem like a sloppy drunk-- she was actually a really fun drunk.
He danced with her, a smile on his face as her partially uncoordinated and wild moves had him laughing. “Yeah, I’m your boyfriend,” he affirmed her statement and then laughed even harder when she yelled at one of her friends that he was pretty. He liked that she was so open about her affections for him; he liked the attention.”Y’know you’re very pretty too,” Hunter pulled Rachel closer and murmured into her ear, chuckling breathily against her neck.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel giggled again as Hunter told her she was pretty. “Stop it. You make my face hot and red.” She said, patting her cheeks before shivering at the way he chuckled against her neck, chills rising on her skin despite her skin being hot. “Tickles.” She pushed him lightly just to pull him closer, her fingers curled around the fabric on the sides of his shirt. “I'm okay.” She said, rolling her eyes, shaking her head. “But you’re like- you’re like so pretty.” Even drunk Rachel still couldn’t wrap her mind around the man being with her despite being so out of her league.
“Ugh, god, we would make pretty babies.” She said, looking up at him, shaking her head. A drunken giggle fell from her lips, slapping his arm lightly and leaning into him. “Whoops, did I say that outloud?” She laughed again, looking up at him. “You know, I think a lot of things that I don’t say to you because if I do, you’ll just run away scared because I-” She snorted. “I am fricken’ crazy.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter shook his head and laughed again when Rachel repeated that he was pretty. He hadn’t ever seen her this drunk and apparently she didn’t have a filter when she’d had enough alcohol. Maybe the mention of babies should’ve alarmed Hunter because they’d only just defined their relationship not that long ago, but he was far too amused to be scared away. He figured that girls just think about that sort of thing regardless of a relationship. “You’re more than just okay’, Rach. Someone as pretty as me wouldn’t go out of his way to date someone unless they were at least as gorgeous as himself.”
He found her adorable and he wanted to see what else he could coerce out of her in this drunken state. “Y’know these babies-- they’d be really talented, too.” He added to her statement, his arm around her waist as she leaned into him. “And you’re not crazy-- you’ve just a little too much to drink and it’s making you all weak in the knees.” He smiled and pressed a chaste kiss to her lips. “But you’re very fun when drunk.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel raised her eyebrows as Hunter mentioned that their babies would be talented and she gasped softly-- she hadn’t even thought of that. “Oh my god, you’re right! With my talent and beauty and your talent and handsome-- they will be, like, the most flawless kids in the world.” She agreed with him, giggling once more as she looked up at him. She smiled sweetly at him when he told her she wasn’t crazy, shaking her head at his weak in the knees comment. “Nuh uh-” Was all she got out before he kissed her gently.
The shorter hummed against her boyfriend’s mouth and she went for another kiss, a less chaste one as she leaned into him further. Letting her arms slide up around his neck she captured his lips in a very slow, deep kiss. “Mmm.” She hummed once more before pulling away, shaking her head again. “No, you, Hunter Clarington.” She slurred, stumbling over her feet a little as she swayed even in his hold. “You are the one who is making my knees weak-- you always do that and I’m afraid I’m going to break my leg. ‘Break a leg’ is just a figure of speech, y’know, I’m not supposed to actually break my leg..” She trailed off by the end of her sentence, her brown eyes fixated on Hunter’s perfect lips. With her teeth dragging slowly over her own bottom lip, she went in for another kiss, a hungrier once that definitely let her boyfriend know that she was completely interested in finding a room or getting out of there.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter’s hold on his drunk girlfriend tightened as she swayed back and forth in his hold. With her balance called into question, he was essentially holding her up by this point. Soft chuckles fell from his lips as Rachel continued to compliment him, boosting his ego considerably. He liked being reminded of his effect on Rachel and how she just seemed to adore him wholeheartedly.
When Rachel brought him in for a feverish kiss, he attempted to kiss back with the same amount of fervor but couldn’t help laughing. Pulling away, he observed the girl’s suggestive expression. “Okay, okay-- I think it’s time I take you home, babe,” Hunter decided, a strong arm around her waist to be sure she wouldn’t stumble. “I’ll make sure you don’t trip and break a leg,” he told her before he made his rounds to say goodbye to those that were still at the party. They somehow managed to make their way over to his motorcycle and it was times like this where he wished he had a car. After making sure her helmet was securely protecting her head and keeping her balanced while she mounted the motorcycle, he guided her hands to wrap around his waist. “Hold onto me tightly; I don’t want you falling off.” Even with his warning, Hunter drove significantly slower than usual as he made their way over to Rachel’s house. When they arrived, he was relieved that her fathers weren’t home; he wasn’t sure how he would’ve explained why or how Rachel was drunk.
“C’mon, I’ll carry you-- I don’t want you to trip.” He insisted, hooking his arm at the bend of her knees to carry her bridal-style into the house, headed up to her bedroom.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel excitedly agreed when Hunter suggested they go home, giggling. “Yay!” She clapped, saying goodbye to her friends. “Thank you for the party I’m gonna go have sex with Hunter now.” She muttered under her breath to Brittany before giving her a hug and leaving on the arm of her Warbler. Rachel was very drunk, but she was smart enough even in her drunken state to hold on tight to Hunter as they rode home. At least until they pulled up in front of her house and she spent the last few seconds of their ride with her hands in the air and a loud WOO as they came to a stop. “That’s so fun!” She laughed as she got off the bike, squealing again when her boyfriend scooped her up.
“Shhh-- don’t tell my dads I’m drunk.” She whispered not so quietly as she drunkenly searched for her keys while he carried her to the door. “Here they are!” She dangled them in front of the taller’s face with a giggle. Once they were up in her room and Hunter let her down, the short brunette didn’t waste time. “C’mere, handsome.” She said, pulling him close to kiss him again, tugging at his shirt. The alcohol had not only made her a very open book- it’d also made her very touchy and she wanted to be touchy with him. “We should just-- get naked and make out.” She mumbled against his lips as she untucked his shirt, pushing him towards the bed.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter laughed at Rachel’s overall obnoxiousness as he carried her through the house. “Your dads aren’t home so I won’t be telling them a thing,” he reassured her. When he set his girlfriend down gently, he had partially expected her to be too drunk to fool around but suddenly he was being pulled into a messy kiss. Her grabby hands tugged and pulled at his clothes and Hunter felt a chill run up his spine as she suggested they get naked. Never one to shy away from a steamy make-out session, Hunter complied with a smirk on his face, undoing the buttons on his shirt. He let his unbuttoned shirt fall freely, very obviously showing off his body for Rachel.
“Yeah? You wanna get naked for me, pretty lady?” He quirked an eyebrow and sat down on the edge of the bed, pulling Rachel closer to him. “You look really hot but right now you’re wearing way too much clothes,” He teased, tugging at the front of her shorts, undoing the buttons one at a time. He looked down at her figure, admiring the way her legs looked in her black tights. He really wanted to rip them off of her. Once her shorts were undone and pooled around her ankles, he pulled her sweater off in one fluid motion before leaning back to admire her almost-naked form. “I like when you wear these tights. Your legs look really good in them,” he murmured, tugging down on the waistband. “You have really sexy legs, even for someone as short as you.” He chuckled then, licking his lips when he pulled down on the girl’s tights to reveal her bare thighs. He really liked her thighs. He liked having his head between her thighs, too.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel giggled as Hunter told her she was wearing too much and proceeded to take off her shorts and the rest of her clothes. Her body warmed at the way he looked at her and spoke to her as she stood there in front of him in her underwear, she bit her lip and shivered. “Ugh, you make me all tingly inside.” She said, pushing him gently so he’d sit back on her bed, pulling off his pants to leave him in his underwear as well. She was too impatient to take anything else off before climbing up onto him, straddling him and taking his face in her hands.
The shorter captured her boyfriend’s lips in another deep kiss, kissing him passionately. He was so hot and he turned her on so much-- she couldn’t get enough of him. She was addicted to Hunter and in her drunken state it was painfully clear. When she was sober she did her best to stay proper and not too sleazy when it came to having sex with him but when she was drunk, a Rachel that lived deep inside of her came out and she was horny. As she kissed Hunter with a little more neediness, she ground her hips down on him slowly before reaching down between them to palm at his crotch. “Mmm, baby you’re so hot.” She whispered against his mouth.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter happily complied as Rachel stripped him of his pants and he toed off his shoes and socks, leaving him naked save for his one last article of clothing. When Rachel climbed into bed after him, Hunter wrapped his arms around her and hummed out of pleasure when she ground down against his crotch. Having Rachel be so forward was a welcome change of pace but he knew she was only like this because of ol’ reliable liquid courage. “You’re really hot yourself, Rach-- quite literally,” he murmured between heated kisses. His girlfriend’s body was hot to the touch and her skin was flushed a deep red, both evidence that she had consumed far too much alcohol tonight. He could already feel himself hardening under her touch, grabby hands palming at his clothed-- and growing-- erection.
He knew they were both getting ahead of themselves because Rachel was drunk, however, and Hunter wanted to pace himself before making the girl come and effectively knock out from exhaustion. He kissed her again and again, their tongues wrestling one another as Hunter moaned softly into her mouth. His hold around her slender waist tightened enough to bring their bodies flush against one another. Pulling away just enough to break the kiss and look up into her eyes, he quirked a slight smile. “I really like kissing you a lot,” he licked his lips and liked the taste of alcohol lingering in his mouth. He shifted his hips a little, pushing his clothed erection into her hand a bit. “And I really like the way you touch me-- Feels good.”
Rachel Berry:
The alcohol burning through Rachel’s system didn't dull anything she felt for the Warbler at all, it only allowed her to feel everything completely and it was just as overwhelming as it was when she was sober. What the alcohol did was dissolve any kind of filter she would've had otherwise. “Mmm, Hunt,” She said softly, pulling away from their kiss as he pushed up against her hand.
“Y’know how I never really returned the favor for when we had sex for the first time and you did that really amazing thing with your tongue?” She slurred looking at him through hooded eyes. “I wanna do that for you.” She bit her lip, not blushing at her forwardness like she usually might. Her mischievous smile fell into a pout as a wrinkle settled into her forehead. “I've just never done it before and I know you've had it done before and I'm afraid of not doing a good job-- y’know I'm sure Sebastian is great because he's had a lot of practice.” She explained, her insecurities falling from her mouth easily. “I just wanna be really good for you, Hunt.” Rachel said softly, rolling her hips slowly.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter looked and listened to Rachel with a furrowed brow, eyes squinting when she confided that she might not have been good enough. He hated that she felt insecure to do things for him because Sebastian had been there before— once again his mistakes were right on his tail to make him regret ever meeting Sebastian Smythe. “Rach, babe,” Hunter started, voice quiet and reassuring before breaking off into a whimper when Rachel rolled her hips down against him again. “Rachel,” he called her name out with certainty as he grabbed her hand. He made sure he was looking him right in the eye as he spoke, “You’re perfect.” Hunter searched his girlfriend’s eyes for insecurity and he sighed softly. He had been patient with her from the beginning because he knew she was a virgin and it had paid off for him so far. He knew continuing his patience would make their relationship stronger.
“If you really want to do it, we can do it. I’ll tell you what to do; it’s not that hard and with your beautiful lips I’m sure you’d be perfect at it,” he told her, hoping to reassure her enough that her insecurities could be washed away. “But you already make me feel so good.” Hunter slowly pushed his hips up again, seeking friction. When he got what he was looking for and pleasure shot through his body, he let out a rough exhale. “You’re perfect for me, Rach.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel's insides warmed even further, not from the alcohol but from the way Hunter spoke to her. Even through her drunken haze, he made her stomach flutter and make her feel like the most perfect girl in the entire world. A grin spread across her face as he reassured her that she was more than good enough for him, a soft whine rolling off her tongue as he pushed his hips up again, the friction making her tingle.
“Hunt..” She whispered softly, rolling her hips again, pressing them down and letting them linger as she ached for the feeling of the friction. She captured his lips in a kiss as she slipped her arms around his neck. The kiss was less urgent than before but just as needed. Her lips moved very slowly against his as she kissed him deeply, all of her feelings falling out into him as she pulled him tightly to her. She kissed him long and slow until they needed to catch their breaths. “Hunter,” Her voice was only loud enough for him to hear as she let out a shuddering breath, leaning her forehead against his. It was that moment again, that moment where the silence was so loud and the air was so thick and those words danced on the tips of their tongues. Except, this time, the liquid courage had dissolved her filter. “I'm in love with you.” She whispered almost too soft for anyone to hear, only for him to hear-- even though they were the only ones in the room.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter hummed softly as Rachel kissed him, again and again. He felt so good when he was with her even when he wasn't inside of her. It was like all his senses were turned up to 11 and Rachel knew all the right buttons to press to make him feel good about himself and about his choices to be with her. Rachel made him really happy.
When Rachel had pulled away from their kiss and he stared at her gorgeous, swollen lips, Hunter felt that unmistakable tension between them again-- the tension that made him want to abandon all logic and just feel everything. As Rachel whispered his name, he perked up and looked into her beautiful brown eyes. He felt his breath hitch in his throat when she said those words. I'm in love with you. The words resonated through him and they made him surprised and elated all at once. He'd already known she was falling for him but he thought there was unspoken agreement not to fall into anything too quickly. “Yeah?” he whispered back to her, unable to hide the hope in his voice. He knew it was a possibility she was saying this only because she was drunk but when he looked at her, even through her drunken state, he could see she meant every word. “That makes me really happy.” He chuckled softly, his hands slowly running up and down her back. “I’d say it back to you but when I say it to you for the first time, I'd like to be certain you'll remember it in the morning.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel felt like a thousand pounds had lifted from her shoulders when the words finally rolled off her lips. She felt every bit of each one of those words and her heart beat fluttered in her chest at the way Hunter looked at her, she knew he felt them, too. She just knew. Shivering at his touch, Rachel smiled and let her eyes flutter closed, her stomach twisting inside of her. “That’s probably a good idea.” She giggled as he confessed he didn’t want to say the words back when she was drunk-- she didn’t blame him. She’d probably not approve of herself saying them right now if she was in her right mind.
She went in for another kiss and her stomach turned upside down again, the tension between them still high. Except...the feeling in her stomach wasn’t the usual butterflies-- it was something else. “Hunt..” She whispered as she pulled her lips from his, her brow furrowing as she looked at him, a frown settling on her face. “I-I..” She shook her head. “I don’t feel so good.” The shorter quickly moved from her boyfriend’s lap, covering her mouth. She barely stumbled into the bathroom quickly enough to make it before she vomited the contents of her stomach into the toilet.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter chuckled again when Rachel moved in for another kiss but suddenly it ended prematurely and the girl frowned. The man mirrored his girlfriend’s expression, about to ask what was wrong when suddenly Rachel bolted and made a mad dash for the bathroom. The sound of her puking into the toilet effectively killed his boner and he grimaced. He made his way out of bed and followed Rachel into the bathroom, kneeling down beside her and gently pulling her hair back to keep it out of the way. “You definitely overdid it tonight,” Hunter sympathized as he rubbed her back coaxingly until she was all finished. When she was and the toilet was flushed, he helped her to stand and walked her back to bed, this time for her to rest. He placed her rubbish bin right beside her bed before going to the kitchen to fetch her a glass of water. “Drink,” he urged, knowing the water would help dilute the alcohol in her system.
Although this wasn’t how he figured this was how the night would turn out, Hunter really did care about Rachel and he was going to see to it that she was well taken care of. Knowing that by now, the girl was probably on the verge of sleep, Hunter took it upon himself to compose a text to Rachel’s fathers from her phone. He knew she was close to them and had meant to send a text to them letting them know she was home safely. “You feeling okay, Rach?” He asked gently, rubbing her back.
Rachel Berry:
After Rachel was finally finished retching up all that her stomach would allow, she groaned helplessly. She did not feel any better and now she was completely mortified because Hunter was there. “No, why?” She whined, standing up and moving to the sink to at least rinse her mouth out with mouthwash before the Warbler helped her to her bed. “I don’t want you to see me throwing up-- ugh, it’s so unattractive.” She whined again as she crawled into bed. When Hunter handed her the glass of water, she drank it slowly, looking up at him. Sighing heavily, she placed the glass of water down on the nightstand before snuggling down in her bed.
She let her brown eyes close as she felt Hunter rubbing her back, nodding at his question. “Mm, I’d feel better if you were holding me.” Her voice was wrapped in a yawn as she made room for the Warbler under her covers. As Hunter took his place next to her in the small bed, she smiled, snuggling close to him and tangling their legs together as she rested her head on his chest-- a spot she had deemed her own. “Much better.” She said sleepily, already drifting off to “Mmmlove you, Hunt.” She mumbled quietly against his chest as she completely fell into a deep sleep.
Hunter Clarington:
“You’re not unattractive,” Hunter insisted, feeling sorry for his girlfriend. This was just another first to be crossed off their list. He looked down at her and smiled when she suggested he join her in bed. “Anything to make you feel better, Rach.” Slipping under the covers, he wrapped an arm around her waist, her body still warm to the touch. He liked having Rachel there with him and having heard her confession tonight made his heart feel so full. As she drifted to bed and sleepily mumbled that word to him once more, it almost felt like his heart would burst right out of his chest. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and watched her serene, sleeping face. He looked at her graceful features and he gently moved aside a strand of hair so he could see her better.
He still had to move his motorcycle so her fathers wouldn’t see it when they came home and he knew he would have to set an alarm early in the morning so he could make it back to Westerville in time for his first classes of the day but for now he would enjoy what he had. He would enjoy being all wrapped up with Rachel and reveling in the fact that she was in love with him. When he knew she was fast asleep with no possible way of hearing him, he whispered his own confession.
“I love you, too.”

alright folks, so i really miss playing my favourite diva rachel barbra berry, and whilst i’ll be playing her soon in a group setting (check out hymtg *cough cough*), i really want to a few 1x1 rps with my angel. i’m pretty much open to plots, but i’m a big fan of angst, with a healthy dose of smuttiness and even some fluff. i ship her with just about anyone, but i’m particularly in the mood for st berry, puckleberry, jakechel, huntchel, faberry, pezberry or wildeberry. also, i only really do tumble sideblogs, and i’m not particularly interested in discord (but i’m happy to share my discord with you so we can plot). if you’re interested, and have any plots in mind, hmu!
#glee 1x1#glee 1x1 rp#glee rp#i'm also open to playing other glee character such as puck or sam or quinn or marley#but i've got a few pucks going on atm and i'd like to get my angel back

Begin Again|| Rachel Berry
Date: Mid October
Location: New York, New York and Sugar Falls, Texas
Starring: Rachel Berry
Summary: After leaving her boyfriend in the middle of the night, a very pregnant Rachel drives until she finds herself in a place that she just might like to call home.
Warnings: None
Rachel had been so excited that everything in her life had finally fallen into place but then within the matter of six hours all of her hopes and dreams had crashed and burned right in front of her eyes. Her show had been cancelled, and now the love of her life was telling her that she wasn’t enough for him-- leaving her bruised and broken next to him in their bed. She didn’t know how things escalated so quickly. She had walked into their bedroom to Brody having sex with someone else; she began screaming and crying and threatening to leave, and before she knew it he had his hands on her, gripping her arms hard enough that they still ached hours later as the bruises yellowed under her skin. As Rachel stared up at the ceiling, her brown eyes red and filled with tears, she looked over at the man sleeping next to her. She had told him she would stay, she told him she loved him- and she did. She really did love him, she loved the man she’d fallen for the year before. But that’s not who was lying next to her anymore. He was different, cold, jealous. She didn’t know who he was, she supposed she never really did.
Sniffling gently to herself, her eyes glanced down at her globe of a belly as she felt a kick. Placing her hand on the spot, she smiled softly, it was a nice reminder that she wasn’t alone and that she still had some light to look forward to in the darkest moment of her life. In that moment with another kick of her rambunctious child’s feet it felt like her mothering instincts kicked in and she realized that she couldn’t bring her child into the world like that-- into that environment. She needed to get out, if not for her sake then for her baby’s.
Rachel took a deep breath to pull herself together before she carefully slipped out of the bed to throw her and her baby’s things into a few bags that she could carry. Slipping her engagement ring off her finger, she left it on the pillow next to Brody with a note.
I’m sorry, I can’t do this. -R
She snuck out of the apartment and made her way down to the parking garage of their building, finding the car her dads had gifted her so long ago. She hadn’t driven in years but where there was a will there was a way and she drove out of the city carefully and by the time she hit the state line she’d gotten the hang of being behind the wheel again. Her original plan was to go home to her dads but she knew that if Brody were to wake up the next morning and want to go looking for her, that’s the first place he’d go and she didn’t want to see him again— at least not anytime soon. She didn’t know where she was going but she just followed her gut and the road in front of her and she drove until she couldn’t drive anymore the next day.
It was early the next afternoon when she finally began to feel too tired to drive and she stopped off somewhere in southern Kentucky at a hotel to get some sleep. Rachel also thought it best to give her family a call to let them know where she was and what was going on. When her dads heard the story of what happened they praised her for being smart and getting out of the city, they were disappointed she didn’t come home to them but they understood. They made sure to let her know how much they loved her and that they would send her money so she could survive until she figured out what she was going to do. She promised them she would come home if she felt lost at any point and then she and her baby took a long nap before hitting the road again. Rachel didn’t stop again until about two hours after she passed the Texas state line and she stumbled upon a seemingly small town to spend the night in.
The next morning she decided to take a break from traveling and she ventured out in the little town to find breakfast. As she drove through the not so busy streets, she noted how calm everything seemed around her and she liked it. It came a surprise to her because she had always been a city girl at heart but something about the way no one was frantically honking their horn to get you to move faster and the way that everyone seemed to not be having the worst day of their lives, made her feel welcome. As Rachel drove she stumbled upon the old downtown area of the tiny city and it looked like it had come right out of a movie. She imagined this is what people were describing when they used the word “quaint”. Parking her car in a spot on one of the side streets, Rachel got out and began to walk through the square. It was a nice autumn day and the sun was shining brightly down on her chestnut hair as she politely greeted another person passing her in the street. The downtown area was seemingly bustling with locals as they browsed boutiques, antique stores, and restaurants she’d never heard of. It was cute and everyone seemed very warm and welcoming. It was such different environment than the big city and she was falling in love with it already.
Settling on a small bistro tucked away in between a couple of the stores, Rachel walked inside, the bells on the door jingling to notify whomever was working that a patron had just entered. An older woman, probably in her mid 50’s, greeted her with a happy smile and a sweet southern accent as thick as honey. “Well good mornin’, sugar. Have a seat anywhere and I’ll be right with you.”
“Thanks,” Rachel said, slipping her sunglasses up onto her head as she seated herself at a little table for two.
As the older woman came back with a menu for Rachel, she smiled a sweet smile and complimented her. “You are absolutely glowing. How far along are you?”
“About six months.” Rachel answered with a proud smile, looking down as she placed her hand on her growing belly.
“That is wonderful, darlin’.” The woman smiled, shaking her head. “Do you and your husband live around here?”
Rachel shook her own head as a small wrinkle settled in her forehead. “Oh, I’m- I’m not married.” She paused, looking down. “I actually just left a really bad relationship. I packed my things and I just kind of...left.”
The woman raised her eyebrows, watching the girl carefully as she spoke. She could see just by her body language that Rachel must have been through something and that’s when her eyes glanced to the bruising on her arm forming into the obvious shape of s man’s fingers. “Well, good for you, sweetheart. It takes a strong woman to leave a man for the good of herself and her baby.”
Rachel smiled up at the woman and let out a soft breath, letting herself feel comfortable. “Yeah? Thanks, I hope it was the right thing.”
“Honey, your gut never steers you wrong. Don’t forget that.” The woman said with a warm smile. “Now how about I whip you up some pancakes with a big helping of bacon to get you started on your day?”
“Oh, no bacon, please. I’m vegetarian.”
With a quirk of an eyebrow the woman laughed softly. “Well bless your sweet little heart.” She said before disappearing off into the kitchen.
Rachel didn’t expect the woman to actually come back with a giant side of bacon but she did…and just one whiff of that grease sent her baby into a frenzy.
Despite breaking the rules of vegetarianism, Rachel felt more herself that morning than she had in awhile. She stayed for hours talking story with the woman, whose name, she learned, was Betty. The brunette felt as if she was meant to be there in that moment in time, she felt so welcomed and almost as if she were having breakfast with her own aunt. The woman stayed engaged in conversation with her throughout the morning and by the mid-afternoon, Rachel had made a new friend.
Once Betty learned that Rachel had just pulled into town with nothing but the clothes on her back and her car, she immediately offered the young woman a job and a place to stay.
“I have an old country house about five miles out of town in a tiny neighborhood, only ‘bout six houses. It’s old and needs some love but with the right person in it, it could be beautiful.” Betty explained before telling Rachel that she was desperate for a waitress. “Now, I can’t pay you big bucks. But I can pay you enough to survive and save up for that baby.”
Rachel had never experienced such kindness before in her life and she didn’t really know what to say to the woman so through watery, grateful eyes she just thanked her and gave her the tightest hug she could manage.
Once Rachel finished with her food she decided to check out the house the woman had offered to her, she took the keys front Betty and followed the directions across town and right outside the city limits. Turning down the small road where the house was supposed to sit, Rachel slowed as a couple of friendly looking dogs cane running up to her car to trot alongside her as she drove. The loose gravel road was much different than anything she was used to— though it did remind her of some places she had visited when she lived in Ohio.
Checking the address on the piece of paper and matching it to the houses she smiled when she saw the house sitting on the edge of the dead end street, it was a small country home with a wooden porch that wrapped around the entire front half. It was definitely older but it had a certain charm that made a smile spread across her face as she stepped out of the car. Taking a look around the small neighborhood, a couple of the dogs happily ran up to her to seek attention. “Hi there,” She said, cautiously reaching down to pat the golden Labrador’s head as it whined happily. She felt at ease in the neighborhood as the cooler autumn air flowed by her, tousling her brown locks, almost like she was right where she belonged. Rachel took in a deep breath of the fresh air and exhaled as she looked at the house in front of her, feeling good about starting the next chapter in her life.

Just Like A Tattoo || Berrington
Date: March 3rd
Location:Minneapolis
Starring: Scarlett Berry and Hunter Clarington @conceitedclarington
Summary: Scarlett picks Hunter up and takes him on a promised adventure.
Notes/Warnings: None
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett couldn’t help but laugh to herself as she pulled up to Hunter’s place, she knew he wouldn’t be expecting her and she halfway hoped that Blaine would be there and she would be interrupting a date. The devil in her liked the prospect of pissing off Professor Bowtie. She got out of her car and went up to Hunter’s door with a little spring in her step and a bottle of her favorite whiskey in her hand.
She knocked a few times on his door before looking down, she unzipped her jacket to adjust her tank top underneath, pulling it down just enough for the top of her bra to be showing-- just enough to remind Hunter what he couldn’t have anymore. “Open up, hotshot.” She hollered, knocking a little harder.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter opened up the door, having been alone in his apartment. He was topless and his hair was wet, a damp towel around his neck. “Red? What’s up? What’re you doing here?” he asked, peeking out down the hallway a bit to figure out she was there alone. He glanced down at her cleavage, his face remaining as stoic as possible. His eyebrow twitched a bit and he could feel that familiar arousal he had when they were still sleeping together.
Paying no mind to the way his body felt, he opened up his door a bit wider and motioned for his friend to come inside. “Want a drink?” he asked, unsure what her presence meant for him today. He was sure it would be interesting-- that much he was certain.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett’s face lit up a little when Hunter opened the door, pushing past him when he opened the door wider for her. “Whoa there, you practicing for your new job as a Chippendales dancer?” She said, patting him on his exposed pectoral as she passed him by with a chuckle. “I’m gonna need you to cover all of that up and get in my car.” She motioned towards his naked torso.
“Also, of course, I want a drink, I always want a drink. Here,” She turned around, handing over the bottle of whiskey to him. “I brought the good stuff in case your boyfriend threw out my old bottle.” Scarlett smiled at him as she took a seat on his coffee table. “Now c’mon, get dressed. Mama’s taking you out tonight.”
Hunter Clarington:
“I just got out of the shower, stupid.” Hunter laughed at her joke and taking the bottle of whiskey from her. “And I always keep a bottle of this stuff on-hand in case you want to come over; Blaine doesn’t really drink all that much. He’s only twenty.”
He walked over to the coffee table and poured her a drink, but not before taking a swig of whiskey himself. “Where’re we going?” he asked, walking towards his bedroom to get dressed. He slipped on a simple white tee over a pair of dark jeans, pairing it with a jacket of his own to match Scarlett. He emerged from his room to join her back in the living room, slicking his damp hair back.
Scarlett Berry:
“Oh that’s right, I forget you like us young kids, huh?” She teased him. “Does he call you grandpa in bed?” Scarlett chuckled at her own joke before she happily took the drink Hunter poured for her, downing it and chasing it with a sip from the bottle. “I appreciate that you still think of me even with Bowties taking up all of your time.”
When Hunter returned after getting dressed, Scarlett gave him a small grin as she got up from the coffee table. “C’mon,” She grabbed his hand to lead him out the door and down towards her car. “You trust me, don’t you?” Scarlett asked, turning to face him as they reached her car, standing a little too close to him.
Hunter Clarington:
“Gross, no,” Hunter let out an amused laugh at his friend's joke. He didn't question anything as Scarlett led him to her car. “And obviously I can manage having friends and a committed relationship.” When she had asked if he trusted her, he grinned. He already knew it was going to be more fun for her if he was kept in the dark and in all honesty Hunter did enjoy following her blindly on her adventures. The fact that she was so physically friendly with him wasn’t unwelcome, either.
They got into her car and she took off down the road, the direction they were driving in gave Hunter no clues as to their destination. “We're not planning an impromptu cross-country trip now, are we?” he joked with a friendly jab into her side. Even though it was a joke, he knew it wouldn't be a far cry from something Scarlett would actually do.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett’s grin mirrored Hunter’s, knowing damn good and well that he trusted her. Ignoring the flip in her stomach she hopped in the car and started it up. When Hunter joked about a road trip and poked her side, Scarlett giggled at the way it tickled, pushing at his hand. “Stop,” She chuckled, shaking her head, raising an eyebrow. “That’s not originally what I had planned, but the day is young, hotshot. The day is young.” She teased, shooting him a wink. She figured it wouldn’t hurt to keep that in her back pocket for later. Stealing Hunter away from Blaine unexpectedly for a couple of days would be hilarious and probably extremely fun.
“No,” She said as she threw her car in reverse and started on her way towards their destination. “We’re gonna go do something fun and crazy today but it‘s in town. If I were kidnapping you and taking you out of town I’d show up at a more inconvenient time, like three in the morning on a work night.” She teased as she rolled down the windows in her car to let the fresh air in, and she smiled as she looked over to Hunter briefly. She really liked that he trusted her so much to follow her wherever she lead. She almost hated it because she knew he was getting attached to her, in turn she would end up attached to him and this whole thing was bound to go down in flames. But she couldn’t help but toe that line, playing with fire was fun. “I’ve kind of got you whipped, huh? I just show up and you get in the car with me. I can take you anywhere I want.” She giggled, teasing him a little more.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter wasn't sure a multi-day trip alone with the girl was a good idea and could be a mixed signal for the young man. Considering his relationship with Blaine was still new, he didn't want to do anything jeopardize that. It seemed like it was just a joke so Hunter didn't say anything in regards to this nonexistent trip.
“Any hints on this ‘something fun and crazy’?” Hunter asked as he draped his arm over the edge of the open car window. “And I prefer the word ‘trusting’ over ‘whipped’; I know you wouldn't steer me wrong.” He looked back at her profile and noticed her bright smile, his company definitely seemed to lift her mood no matter the circumstance. Along with her smile, just by her reaction to him-- her laughter and teasing--, he knew that he was good for her and she for him. Regardless of what she had in store for them today, he was optimistic.
“Take me wherever you like but if we're crossing international borders, you need to tell me so I can get my passport,” he joked.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett couldn’t help that her smile grew when Hunter reaffirmed that he trusted her and his words take me wherever you like made a forbidden flit across her stomach. Pushing it way deep down inside of her to be ignored, she let out a soft laugh. “Please, it’s more fun to smuggle you out of the country.” She said as she turned down a street. It wasn’t much longer until they were at their destination and she was parking in front of a small building with a neon sign lighting up the word TATTOO in the window.
“Alright, here we are.” Scarlett said, looking over at her former lover, raising an eyebrow. “You ready for this, hotshot?” A cheeky grin spread graced her face as she carefully watched his reaction. She half expected him to back out, mostly testing him here. “Unless you’re a chicken and back out on me.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter had been left in the dark their whole trip but when his eyes came upon those big neon letters, his eyes grew big like saucers. “Oh, you weren't kidding about the tattoos,” he said as he remembered their conversation from the other day. He saw her cute little grin and shook his head with a little chuckle. “Of course you weren't kidding, it's you.”
Now Hunter Clarington was a lot of things but one thing he wasn't was a liar. He was a man true to his word and when he said he would get a tattoo, he meant it. He promptly got out of the car with a determined look on his face. “Let's go get ourselves some tattoos, Red.” He walked towards the front door, leading the way inside.
“Hey there,” a heavily-tattooed woman was standing behind the counter, a shock of vivid purple hair obscured half her face. “Got an appointment?”
Scarlett Berry:
“Fuck yeah!” Scarlett giggled excitedly when Hunter got out of the car, following suit and going inside with him. Greeting the woman with an awkward smile, she glanced around. “Yeah, actually, I spoke with someone named Bill and set up an appointment with him for me and my friend here. I’m Scarlett.” She said, introducing herself.
The woman glanced down at the book in front of her, flipping the page and nodded with an almost-smile. “Super, Bill will be ready soon.” She said as she marked down that the two were there, before leaving the room, seemingly uninterested. It made Scarlett chuckle as she looked up at Hunter. “Same. Maybe I should dye my hair purple, what do you think?” She smiled, looking up at him. “I should get my nose pierced again, too.” Scarlett was mostly thinking out loud, the feeling of being in the tattoo parlor gave her a rush and she liked it and wanted to do all of the rebellious things.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter watched the exchange silently, unsure of who this Bill person was and what exactly he had planned for the two of them. The uncertainty of the situation itself was both thrilling and nerve-racking.
When Scarlett asked about changing her hair, Hunter furrowed his brow. “What's wrong with the way your hair looks now? I like the red streak; it makes calling you ‘Red’ that much more satisfying,” he replied honestly. “A nose piercing sounds like that's within your character, though.” He tried to picture himself with a zany hair color or metal studs in his face but it didn't feel right-- those things just weren't Hunter Clarington.
While they waited for Bill to greet them, Hunter walked over to the books that held various art pieces that were meant to inspire. Many of them looked cool but he wasn't sure what he thought of them being on him. To him, a tattoo had to have meaning since it'd be on him for life. “Are we getting, like, matching tattoos?” Hunter asked his friend, wondering to himself what his boyfriend would think if he came home with Scarlett's name on his unmarred skin.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett looked down at her long hair, picking at the red bunch and twisting it around her finger, smiling to herself. “Yeah? You like the red?” She shrugged. “I used to have blue hair, you know, you’ve seen the pictures.” The girl chuckled as she watched Hunter go over to one of the books, following close by to look over his shoulder at the art.
“We can if you want to,” She shrugged, grinning a little. “You can get my name on your ass and I’ll get my own name on mine.” Scarlett teased him as she walked around to lean against the counter that held the books. “No, I know what you’re getting. You just have to figure out what I’m getting.” She said, raising her eyebrows. “And you better make it good, Hunt. I don’t need something stupid on me forever.” As she said that, a thought crossed her mind that made her life. “Like the Target logo on my ass-- though that would be hilarious.”
Hunter Clarington:
“The blue was nice, too. But I think the red is hot,” Hunter told her in a matter-of-fact tone.
When Scarlett revealed to him that they were choosing each other's tattoos, the man furrowed his brow again. He hadn't given it much thought and the notion of impulsively choosing an image or word that Scarlett would get permanently etched onto her body increased Hunter's nervousness. It was a heavy responsibility and he wouldn't dare make a mistake. Still, he knew that she was like water; she went with the flow of things. Where he was nervous, she was thriving. Where he was apprehensive, she was diving in head first.
“Scar, I can't just come up with an awesome tattoo design on the spot like this,” he protested as he turned to face her. He reached out for the strands of bright red hair sticking out from behind her brunette locks. “A tattoo isn't like hair where you can go changing it whenever you feel like…” he mumbled, twirling her red hair around his finger. He cracked a slight smile, an idea hitting him like a Eureka moment. “Wait, I think I just thought of a great tattoo?” He said, sounding a bit uncertain.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett didn’t move away as Hunter stepped closer, she watched him carefully as he reached forward to play with her hair himself. She liked that he was so comfortable with her, he liked that he wasn’t wary about being close to her or touching her. It gave her a smug sense of pride knowing that Blaine would be absolutely beside himself if he were to know what they were doing. Glancing down at his hand, her hair wrapped around his finger, her heart skipped a beat and she cleared her throat to shake it off as her brown eyes lifted to the smile spreading across his face. She liked his smile.
“Yeah?” Scarlett’s eyebrows raised when he said he actually had a great idea. “Perfect! Let’s do this then, babe.” She crinkled her nose at him, she knew he wouldn’t let her down. As much as he trusted her, and as much as she would never admit it, she trusted him too. Against all of her better judgment.
“Scarlett?” A gruff voice came from a doorway leading back to where the magic happened, causing her to whip around, an excited smile on her face as she faced the balding man with a very thought out handlebar mustache and beard combo. “Ready when you are, do you have your art chosen?” He asked and Scarlett eagerly nodded her head as she reached into her pocket.
“Yes! My friend here will be getting this but-- don’t show him ‘til it’s done.” She said, handing him a piece of paper. “And put it right here on his pectoral, right over his heart.” Scarlett instructed, patting Hunter on the chest.
Hunter Clarington:
It was difficult to tell whether the man was amused or annoyed by Scarlett's request of no peeking, but he nodded nonetheless and motioned for Hunter to get in the tattoo chair. “Hop aboard, sailor,” he said in his gruff voice as he looked at the paper that had the art on it. “I'll go make a stencil; be right back.”
“Why can't I see until it's done?” Hunter asked the girl as he removed his shirt, seeing as how his chest was about to become a canvas for the tattoo artist. “Is it going to be a penis tattoo? Or something gross like a Teletubbie?”
When Bill returned with the stencil, he had Hunter lean back in the chair. “Just stare up at the ceiling and we'll get this, uh, Teletubbie drawn on you,” he joked, clearly having overheard Hunter.
With being restricted to look down, Hunter couldn't exactly see the man working and it made him anxious. He heard the tattoo gun startup and it made him jolt a bit in the chair; he wasn't necessarily afraid but this was a completely new experience for him. He reached out almost instinctively for Scarlett's hand and held it in a firm grip.
“Relax, fella,” Bill patted Hunter's chest with one of his gloved hands. “You won't even feel a damn thing.”
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett giggled as Hunter and the tattoo artist both joked about the Teletubbie and she shook her head. “No, it’s definitely a giant cock.” She laughed before taking a seat on a nearby stool, scooting it closer to where Hunter was sitting. “Oh you’ll be fine, it’ll only hurt a lot.” She said as she let him take her hand, exchanging a look with the artists and sharing a laugh as they’d said opposite things. “Calm down big baby.” Scarlett patted his hand.
“No turning back now,” She grinned at Bill and then at Hunter, watching as the needle came in contact with his skin, excited for the outcome. Scarlett’s gut told her this was the worst idea she’d had since she agreed to be fuck buddies with Hunter when they first met, but it Scarlett was infamous for anything it was not listening to her gut feelings. “Surely the professor won’t mind my name on your chest, yeah?” She smirked, holding his hand tight, lacing their fingers together.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter was in no way afraid of needles but when he felt the tattoo gun first come into contact with his skin, he felt a coiling in the pit of his stomach he'd never had before. Still, with Scarlett there beside him he managed to overcome his nerves. It honestly didn't hurt but the close proximity to his heart made him a bit nervous. “Oh, is that what I'm getting tattooed on me? I'm sure Blaine will be thrilled,” he chuckled. He could tell by the way the artist was drawing the shape that this wasn't lettering.
He couldn't look down but felt their fingers laced together and it made him smile broadly. As nervous as this made him, it was actually a lot of fun and incredibly adventurous. Before this, Hunter had never before even thought about getting anywhere near a tattoo parlor. “I hope you like the tattoo I thought up for you; you might not like it at first but I think it'll be cool.”
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett couldn’t wipe the smile from her face as she went back and forth between watching the tattoo artist work and Hunter’s face. “Yeah, no, he’ll be so hella jealous I got to your heart first.” She said before almost immediately flushing red, realizing how her statement sounded. “Ew, gross, not like that, obviously. But like, you know.” She furrowed her brow, shaking her head. “Shut up.” She said before Hunter even said anything, rolling her eyes.
The tattoo Scarlett had created for Hunter was relatively simple and small and only required minimal detail, it took about half an hour or less for Bill to finish up. Scarlett held Hunter’s hand the entire time, even catching herself absentmindedly caressing his hand with her thumb— which she promptly stomped each time she realized.
Hunter Clarington:
Scarlett's words about getting to his heart made Hunter beam with a smile so wide, it could cure cancer. He knew she didn’t mean it in such a heartfelt way, judging from her facial expression she wanted to reject it completely but Hunter knew. There was something in the back of his mind that wanted to speak up and say more to her statement but he decided against it. He kept quiet as the girl continued on with her little façade, her reaction enough to amuse and satisfy him.
“Almost done, kid,” Bill said in his gruff voice as he moved away momentarily to change colors and put the finishing touches on the tattoo. The entire experience was just short of an ordeal; the pain was manageable but it wasn’t Hunter’s favorite, either. When Bill wiped away the excess ink and blood, he motioned for the man to get up and go look at the finished work in the mirror. Hunter did just that, walking toward his reflection and he looked down at his chest. It took only a moment to recognize not only the object but what it meant. “Is that a raspberry?” he laughed, reaching up to touch the freshly inked flesh. A red berry. Scarlett Berry. “That’s so silly,” he laughed again, “I love it.”
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett ignored Hunter’s smile and stayed focused on the tattoo being punched into his skin, only grinning to herself a little when she was sure he wasn’t looking. When Bill was all finished, she let go of Hunter’s hand and stood up to follow him excitedly to watch the big reveal, looking from the raspberry to his face. Biting her lip, she clapped her hands and raised her eyebrows. When he questioned it, she stayed quiet as she watched the realization wash over his stupid face and it made her chuckle softly. “Yeah?” She asked, coming around in front of him to get a better look, she let her finger trace around the reddened area and a wide grin spread across her face.
“It suits you,” She said softly. “Kind of like me.” Scarlett chuckled, glancing up at him, shaking her head. “I honestly can’t believe you did it-- what are you going to tell Bowties?”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter looked away from his reflection-- which was difficult because he looked so damn attractive-- to the girl in front of him, who looked rather pleased with herself. Going through with this made her incredibly happy and even if it was a silly tattoo, Hunter knew it was worth it in the end. Besides, now he'd have a permanent reminder of her and no matter how much she might try to drive distance between them because she “didn't do feelings”, this tattoo represented otherwise.
“Not sure,” he replied simply to her question as he gave a vague shrug of his shoulders. “I'll tell him you and I got matching tattoos to commemorate our friendship.” Bill came around to clean the tattoo and dress it in a bandage, and Hunter allowed him to do so as he carried on his conversation with Scarlett. “It's not a lie and besides, he shouldn't have a problem with me having friends.”
“You're up, little lady.” Bill announced as he cleaned his station and patted the chair for Scarlett to take a seat.
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett snorted when Hunter said he would be honest with Blaine, knowing full well that conversation wouldn’t go as Hunter was imagining. “Good luck with that, bro.” She said with an eyebrow raise, shaking her head. She almost felt bad that it was so easy to get Hunter to follow her around the way he did, knowing full well Blaine would hate it. Almost.
When it was her turn to hop into the chair, she looked over at Hunter expectantly, waiting to hear where she was getting her new ink. “Where am I getting this?” She narrowed her eyes playfully. “You’re gonna say my tit just so I’ll take my shirt off aren’t you?”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter grinned as he watched her get into the chair, seemingly excited to blindly get some new ink. Her comment about her tit made him-- and Bill-- laugh. “No, I won't subject you to that,” Hunter said, motioning to pull the tattoo artist aside to discuss his idea. He made sure to whisper quietly enough that Scarlett wouldn't hear them and when the message was received, Bill gave a nod as he twirled at his mustache.
“What a guy you got there,” Bill told Scarlett as he got his equipment ready and placed the red ink front and center.
Hunter approached the chair once again and brought a seat up to her left side, reaching out to take her left hand into his own. “You'll have to hold my hand with this one because he'll be inking up the other,” he informed her as Bill motioned for her to put her hand on top the thick armrest. The tattoo gun buzzed to life and Hunter waggled his eyebrows at his friend.
Scarlett Berry:
As Scarlett settled in the chair, waiting for the two men to finish up with their secret discussion, she felt excited. She was so ready for the rush that she got when she felt the needle against her skin. She also liked the thrill of not knowing what she was getting-- she trusted Hunter and she knew whatever he chose would be perfect for her. When Bill came over to take his place and he uttered his statement, Scarlett’s forehead wrinkled in curiosity. Quite a guy I’ve got. It made her chuckle out loud, even strangers thought she had him.
Her brown eyes glanced over to Hunter when he sat to take her hand, looking back at Bill to place her other hand where instructed. “A hand tattoo?” She questioned, smiling a little. “I like it.” Scarlett laced her fingers with Hunter’s and she looked at him. “What am I getting? Are you putting berries on me too?” He eyes fell to the red berry on his chest and it made her smile. Biting on her lip, she raised her eyebrows. “Do you really like yours?” Her voice softening.
Hunter Clarington:
“You’ll see,” Hunter stated simply, the coy expression he supplied her making himself laugh a bit. He could see why she liked introducing him into the unknown; it definitely had its perks.
When Scarlett asked about his new tattoo, he nodded confidently. “I really do, yes,” he assured her, placing his free hand over his chest. “I like that I’ll be able to see it in the mirror whenever I’m admiring my perfect visage and physique.” As he spoke he held his chin up, knowing his statement was sure to have the girl rolling her eyes. He liked being cocky and knew it got a reaction out of her every time he spoke on it. “I like that you didn’t go the general route of just getting your name or your face. This is… special.”
The tattoo gun shut off and Bill declared that he was finished; it had taken significantly less time to do Scarlett’s tattoo compared to Hunter’s. Since it was right there on her hand, Hunter looked down to see it for himself as well, looking back to the girl for her initial reaction. “It’s a red thread of fate. The story behind it is that no matter the time or place, the two that are tied together with this thread are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. So, regardless of wherever the fuck we end up, we’ll always be best friends and find our ways back to each other.” Hunter explained, reaching out to get a better look. The tattoo was a simple, thin band that went around the diameter of her pinky finger, a tiny bow on top. Along the outside of her hand, the thread looped into the simple cursive letters that spelt his name.
Scarlett Berry:
When the tattoo gun stopped way sooner than she expected, Scarlett looked to Bill with a raised eyebrow. “Done already?” She glanced down at her hand just as Hunter did and she listened as he explained the meaning to her. She’d heard of the story before but she never believed in it, she didn’t believe in soulmates or anything of the sort- even now when she knew deep down her connection with Hunter was no accident, she still struggled to believe in it. That didn’t stop her stomach, however, from flipping upside down when she turned her hand over to see his name written along her hand.
Scarlett felt extremely heavy and light in that moment, she felt the burning sensation running through her entire body- the feeling that only Hunter was able to ignite. She hated it, she hated him for doing this to her. Biting down on her lip, Scarlett shook her head. “You are so fucking corny.” She teased him, doing her best to hide the fact that she wanted to cry, she felt like she couldn’t breathe. She wanted to cry because she felt things for and from Hunter that she wasn’t allowed to feel and it was difficult. Pushing at him playfully, Scarlett shook her head and stood up from the chair. “Thank you, Bill.” She then looked at Hunter again. “Pay the man, doll, I need to call my sister—I totally forgot.” She lied, doing her best to keep her cool until she was outside, finally able to take the deep, shaky breath she was holding in. “Jesus, fuck, Scar, what the hell are you doing?” She muttered to herself.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter had had a feeling before Bill had even started up the tattoo gun that she would try to reject it. He knew her all too well and that she didn't “do feelings”, but he also knew that was a load of crap.
After settling up the bill with Bill and giving him a nice little tip, he joined Scarlett outside after she'd had a moment to herself. “You don't have to hide the fact that you obviously love the tattoo I got for you,” he said with his usual cockiness. He was wearing his shirt again and handed the girl an after-care pamphlet. “I doubt you need this since it's not your first rodeo but Bill gave these to us.”
He gently reached out for her hand, bringing it closer to her to get a closer look. It was a simple and cute tattoo; great in its significance rather than its visual presentation. “It looks good on you.”
Scarlett Berry:
Scarlett sucked in a breath when Hunter came outside, looking at him and smiling a little. “Shut the fuck up.” She chuckled, taking the pamphlet and shoving it in her back pocket. “Yeah I know, lotion and no ocean. Blah blah.”
Her breath caught in her throat when Hunter took her hand and she watched his face carefully as he inspected her new ink, her heart skipped a beat and attempted to crawl up her throat to nestle against the breath she was holding. She didn’t say anything, she didn’t have words to say to him, so she expressed herself the only way she knew how. She wrapped her hand around his to pull him close to her without warning and she crashed their lips together in slow, passionate kiss.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter acted before he thought, melting into the kiss and reciprocating in earnest. Her lips were soft and kissing her was always amazing. Nights together in bed flashed before his eyes that reminded him of what was once too good. His other hand wrapped around her waist and he pulled her closer for just a moment. Their lips moved against one another in sync, both especially familiar with each other. When he pulled back from the kiss, he felt something stirring in the pit of his belly. His boyfriend was an afterthought as he looked at the beautiful girl in front of him.
“Wow,” he started speaking, a slight chuckle falling from his lips. “Where'd that come from?” He didn't know what to make of the kiss but he knew that he'd enjoyed it.
Scarlett Berry:
When Hunter didn’t hesitate at all, Scarlett pulled herself closer to him and she melted into him as well as she kissed him deeply. He still wanted her and she felt it and that’s what she needed in that moment. When their kiss came to an end, she stayed close to him, her hands resting on his biceps.
Licking her lips slowly, she took a soft breath, the corner of her lips quirking. It was like an addict taking a hit of their vice, she felt mildly recharged in that moment. Leaving her eyes closed, she wrinkled her forehead. “I don’t know, Hunter.” She said his full name, fighting the feeling of being vulnerable with him. She hated it. That moment of bliss from kissing him was over and all she wanted was to kiss him again, take him home and fuck these feelings away. “Sorry.” Her hands dropped to his stomach, fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt, trying to physically stay in that moment before reality settled in.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter frowned when she so suddenly seemed to recoil into herself after what he felt was such a wonderful kiss. But he too had to return to reality and face that fact that he was already in a committed relationship with Blaine. While he and Scarlett toed the line between “friendship” and “something more”, they both knew they both would never be anything but what they already were.
“No, I'm sorry,” Hunter apologized as he looked down at her, his hands coming up to just barely hold her arms. Their kiss and embrace were both too short; something about her called to him. “I should've known better and made you get a silly tattoo and not something… meaningful.” But of course, he wanted to show her his relationship with her was meaningful to him. She meant something to him-- a lot, actually.
Scarlett Berry:
When Hunter apologized for the tattoo she rolled her eyes, finally opening then to look up at him. “Shut up, you know I love it even if it’s gross.” She said, sighing as she looked down at her hands, picking at his shirt.
After a long moment, she sighed heavily and shrugged. “I don’t know, I just wanted to kiss you. I like kissing you because I can.” She said honestly. “And your stupid magnetic field I get caught in and shit.” Scarlett looked up at him. “Maybe that’s not being just friends, but—“ All She did was shrug, she didn’t know how to voice her feelings and she didn’t want to admit she was feeling anything. She just wanted to kiss him again to make the conversation end and to curb her craving. Looking up at him and narrowing her eyes. “I hate you.” She said, a tiny twitch tugging the corner of her lips.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter knew what she was trying to say. Their relationship was atypical and they had had an intense sexual relationship first and then became close friends. It seemed to the outside eye more often than not that the two were a couple when that simply wasn't the case. Truth be told, he liked kissing her too and this incident was something he planned to keep to himself.
“I hate you too,” he said with a fond smile, deciding against telling her they couldn't kiss. He knew it wasn't going to be an everyday occurrence and if happened again, then he could say something. But he wanted this excursion to end on a happy note. “Did you have any plans for after this? Maybe we can get a friendly drink together?”
Scarlett Berry:
When Hunter said he hated her too, she felt her stomach flip and it made her pull away from him with a grossed out groan, shaking her hands a little. “Must you make everything so gross?” She blamed him, mirroring his fond grin before answering his question.
“Of course, you’re buying me dinner.” She said, taking his hand and spinning herself around once and tugging him close so his arm was around her neck, still holding his hand as she led the way to her car.
Scarlett had no idea what she was doing but she knew she was fucked.

Hunter Clarington:
Hunter made a beeline to his dorm room right when his last class let out. He was in a rush to change his clothes, throwing his Dalton uniform on the bed before changing into a pair of dark jeans, black boots, and his favorite leather jacket over a long-sleeve shirt. With a smile on his face and a skip to his step, he was looking forward to driving all the way to Lima to pick Rachel up. He timed it just right in his head and knew if he had rushed to leave, he could make it to McKinley High School just as Rachel’s glee club would be over. He made sure he had everything he needed to go pick her up and soon he was blazing out of the Dalton parking lot and onto the long road ahead.
The drive was uneventful as Hunter looked forward to seeing the girl, laughing to himself as he pictured the surprised faces of her friends and classmates. He rolled up to McKinley High School, checking the time on his phone to see that he was right on schedule. Already he could see students giving him looks-- either checking him out or sizing him up, but Hunter didn’t care about these peasants. With the engine cut and helmet now tucked under his arm, the Dalton boy strolled through the halls in search of the glee club room. After asking some random student to point out the way, he found it. He peeked into the room and smiled when Rachel came into view. She was standing in front of her peers, singing a song that Hunter knew he’d heard before but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Listening to her voice ring out beautifully, Hunter couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride, for some reason. After she’d finished singing, it looked like the teacher was just wrapping up whatever he was talking about and the glee club members were already gathering their things and getting ready to leave. Hunter waited right there by the door, ready to greet her.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel had been waiting rather impatiently for Friday to arrive, eager to spend more alone time with Hunter. It was like she was addicted to him and the way he made her feel. He made her feel wanted and beautiful-- not a lot of people ever made her feel that way. And no one had ever made her feel quite the same as Hunter did. Waking up on Friday was like waking up on Christmas morning and she chose her outfit very carefully that day, not wanting to have to rush home after school to change - she realized that if she was going to be frequenting the back of her guy’s motorcycle, she was going to have to invest in more articles of clothing that didn't involve a skirt. Three pairs of shorts wasn't cutting it. She settled for a pair of black, high-waisted shorts, maroon tights, and a cream colored sweater, her dark hair straightened and down.
She could barely focus in school all day long, going over every moment she’d spoken to Hunter or spend time with him. She felt like she did the first time she’d ever had a crush on someone, only tenfold. It was intense and she was obsessed. It had even leaked over into glee, as she was starting to sing songs the related to her and Hunter, songs she'd never even heard before. That day at glee rehearsal, she sang Dirty Laundry by a band she'd just discovered when scouring the internet for songs that portrayed her feelings. The moment she heard it she couldn't help but think of Hunter- and she liked knowing that only a few people in glee club knew exactly who she was singing to.
When glee was finally over and she gathered her things, she said goodbye to her friends and walked with purpose out for the room, practically power-walking. She stopped in her tracks, though, when she saw her handsome suitor waiting for her. The brunette’s face lit up when she saw Hunter, glancing around. “Hunt?” She grinned at him, holding her things tightly in her arms, doing her best to not seem overly excited. She wanted to portray the right amount of excited as to not scare him away. “What a nice surprise.” She bit her lip to resist the urge to kiss him, not knowing if they were there yet. She gave him a once over, shaking her head. “I've never had such a dangerous-looking fella pick me up from school before.” She teased him. She felt nervous and relaxed all at the same time. He made her so nervous- in the good way- and yet she felt so comfortable with him, it was a weird feeling that her and the butterflies hadn't quite gotten used to yet.
Hunter Clarington:
When the glee kids began exiting the room, some of them noticed and even recognized him. Hunter handed out a few hellos to the people he knew and those that didn’t stared him down as they walked down the halls. He wondered which one of the guys coming out of the room was Rachel’s ex-boyfriend but before he could say or do anything, the girl he’d come to see came marching out of the room and stopped in her tracks to greet him. “Hey, babe,” Hunter stood up straight from leaning against the wall, flashing her his signature charming smile. He quickly gave her a once-over and maybe mentally undressed her before he moved in to wrap an arm around her waist to bring her into a firm, possessive kiss. He made sure everyone in the halls who were watching could see; he was very obviously marking and claiming his territory. When he broke away from the kiss, he kept well within her personal space and didn’t care that people were staring at them both-- in fact, he wanted people to see them. “Thought I’d come surprise you here for everyone to see what kind of danger you get yourself into. You ready for our date?” He asked, shrugging off his jacket to give to her. “I brought my bike.”
He offered to hold Rachel’s things for her while she put on his jacket, grinning to himself that she looked so good in his jacket. As they started to make their way down the hall, his arm draped around her, he noticed one of the guys that’d come out of the glee club had been glaring daggers at him from afar. Coming here to pick Rachel up had so far been an excellent choice. “Do you need to stop off at your place first or do you want to just get out of here? I have a place in mind I want to take you before we go to Dalton.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel was pleasantly surprised by the affectionate pet name and the way that Hunter pulled her into a kiss. All of it overwhelmed her briefly and she melted into the taller’s embrace, humming against his lips as she kissed him back. Her cheeks flushed red as they kissed, feeling the eyes of her classmates and her ex-boyfriend. She liked it, though. She liked that Hunter was into her enough to make it a point to come pick her up from school and show their relationship off-- even if it wasn't official yet.
She happily let Hunter hold her things as she slipped his jacket on over her outfit-- there were those butterflies again. She loved how warm she felt in his jacket-- feeling like she was his was something she really loved. The grin never left her face as they walked down the hall together, she could only imagine how great they looked-- her wearing his jacket, him so much taller than she. It was probably a sight she’d be jealous of if she wasn’t a part of it. Leaning into him as they walked, she shook her head. “Nah, I wanna get out of here with you.” She assured him, smiling up at him. “I just need to drop this stuff off at my locker-- Kurt will take it home for me so I don’t have to haul it to Westerville.” She said as they made their way towards her locker, stopping to put her things away and grab her purse. She locked up her things and got closer to the taller again, slipping her arm around his waist so they could walk out together-- she’d be lying if she said she didn’t love the looks they got from others.
She could still feel people’s eyes on them as they left and made their way to his bike, taking her helmet and placing it on her head. “Y’know if I’m going to be frequenting the back of your bike so often-- I should get my own, personalized helmet.” She chuckled, looking up at him. “Where are you taking me today, handsome?”
Hunter Clarington:
With his jacket on Rachel and the two of them walking down the halls together, Hunter felt like a rockstar. He wished that he could do the same thing over at Dalton but private school was just a little different than McKinley. Public school kids were all about individuality and doing their best to stick out and right now, he knew that they would be the talk of the school after this. Hunter walked Rachel over to her locker and got a peek inside, noticing the glittery stars inside and chuckling to himself at her cuteness.
When they got outside, there were still students staring and many even looked confused. Maybe no one expected a goody-goody like Miss Rachel Berry to be dating a so-called “bad boy"? When the both of them strapped their helmets on, Hunter thought about Rachel’s little joke. He imagined her wearing a bright pink helmet, bedazzled with a gold star. The image made him chuckle. “I think getting you a customized helmet could be arranged,” he told her as he mounted his bike and waited for her to do the same before he started up the engine. “First things first, we're getting something to eat-- I'm starving.” As he revved the engine loudly, it roaring and echoing throughout the parking lot, many students and even faculty took notice and watched the couple leave the premises.
Hunter already had the entire evening planned out in his head. On their first date, she'd gotten just a glimpse when they'd gone to stargaze. Today was going to be about showing Rachel more of his world. More of the real Hunter Clarington. But first, food. Their first stop was a nice little vegan diner where they could grab a quick bite to eat. He remembered from their first date that the girl had mentioned she was a vegetarian and wanted to take her someplace where she could choose from a full menu. The drive didn’t take more than a half-hour even when he took the scenic route. When they pulled up and dismounted the bike, Hunter made sure to keep close to Rachel, a protective arm around her frame.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel chuckled when Hunter agreed to a personalized helmet. “Great, I would like a nice sized, golden, sparkly ‘R’ right on the back.” She requested with a nose crinkle as she took her spot on his motorcycle and they took off out of McKinley High’s parking lot. She held onto him tightly as they drove out of town. She lived in the moment and relished in the feeling of the bike rumbling beneath them, her chest pressed tightly against his back as she tightened her arms around him. With a smile on her face, she leaned her cheek against his back, humming happily as she watched the beautiful view pass them by. She hadn’t felt this happy in a long time-- if ever.
As Hunter came to a stop in front of a dining establishment she’d never been to before, she got off the bike with him, leaning into him as he wrapped his arm around her-- she liked how he always wanted her close. It certainly wasn’t a bad thing. As they got closer to the diner and she saw the name, she realized she recognized it as one of the few vegan places in the area- one she’d wanted to try for a while. A silly grin pulled at the corners of her mouth as she looked up at him. He remembered she was a vegetarian. The butterflies in her stomach flitted around excitedly as they made their way into the diner. “You remembered,” was all she said, wanting him to know that it touched her, she saw it-- she saw him being sweet and thoughtful and she appreciated it. It was the first time someone she had dated had really listened to her. She felt heard and it was impressive considering her being a vegetarian was something she had just briefly mentioned in the middle of their date. It was just another thing that made him Hunter- another thing that made her feel that much more for him. Another reason she needed to be careful before she fell in too deep.
Hunter Clarington:
“Well, yeah,” was all Hunter replied when Rachel voiced her appreciation for him remembering about her dietary habits. He looked at her like remembering such a fact should’ve come naturally to anyone who’d been on a date with her. “You mentioned it so of course I’d remember.” Hunter didn’t think he’d really put much thought into it; he just knew if he’d been a vegetarian, he’d might want to eat someplace where there were more than only a few things he could choose from. The diner was a casual setting-- much different from their first date where they sat down in a classy little restaurant. He made it a point to mention that they couldn’t linger for very long at the diner; they were there only to eat because Hunter had their next destination in mind like a target in his crosshairs. “I hate to rush us but we have to get there before six tonight,” he apologized, checking the time on his phone as he quickly finished his food. He looked apologetic because he was probably ruining the mood but he wanted to make this date worth it and it wouldn’t be if they were even a little bit late.
“I promise it’ll be great,” he assured her when they eventually got back onto the road after eating. “I discovered this place when I was driving one day after-school and I wanted to show you. I thought about how much you liked it that night we went to the park and that you might like this too.” Hunter was purposefully being vague, not wanting to reveal exactly where they were going.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel knew that it was probably a silly thing to feel so thankful for, but when it came to her diet and her beliefs, no one but her family ever really seemed to care that much. She felt so happy throughout their dinner that she didn’t even mind that they were kind of in a rush, just excited to do whatever it was Hunter had in store for them. She didn’t mind that he hurried them through dinner-- finding it sweet that he had someplace specific in mind to take her, appreciating the thought he’d put into this date yet again.
After they finished dinner and she thanked him for paying, they hopped on his motorcycle again and took off. She enjoyed more of the scenery around them as they winded through the Ohio backroads, smiling to herself as she held onto him tight. She was thinking of the night ahead and where they would end up-- she was questioning herself and what she wanted. Rachel wanted Hunter and she wanted him bad. With every moment they spent together the want became more of a need. She’d been at war with herself ever since Sebastian’s Halloween party-- does she give in to what she wants? Or does she keep a promise to herself that she’s tried so hard to keep through her teenage years?
It was an ongoing thing in her mind and it was exhausting her.
Having zoned out a little bit, Rachel was surprised when they came to a stop. Looking around to to see where they were, she didn’t recognize where they were at all, chuckling softly as she got off the bike, taking the helmet off and running her fingers through her hair. “I’m confused,” She shook her head. “Where are we?”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter grinned to himself as they zoomed through the backroads and soon they’d made their way out of Lima. It was mostly farmland as far as the eye could see and that was to be expected since they were in Ohio, after all. Because he couldn’t see Rachel’s facial expression, he hoped that she was enjoying the ride as much as he. From the way she held onto him as they drove down the roads, he could only assume she was loving every moment of it. When they got closer to their destination, Hunter slowed down and looked toward the western horizon. When he saw that they still had a bit of time before sunset, he was satisfied.
He stopped at the side of the road, seemingly nothing in sight besides the wide span of farmland and well… more farmland. “I promise you’ll like it,” he told Rachel when he took his helmet off and dug into his bike’s side compartment to produce a modest-sized blanket. Taking her hand into his own, interlacing their fingers as he led them up a hill. Sat atop the hill was a large oak tree, its autumn colors just beginning to appear through its green leaves. He spread the blanket under the tree and pointed out towards the horizon. “Ohio is like Hicksville, U.S.A, but it’s got some really gorgeous sunsets if you know where to look.” He smiled at Rachel then as he gestured for her to take a seat. When they were both seated next to each other, he grinned at her again. “Not nearly as gorgeous as you, though.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel smiled to herself as Hunter took her hand in his, biting her lip. She liked that he was the one to initiate hand-holding. It meant something to her and it was just one of the many small things he did that made her fall a little harder towards falling for him for real. Another one of those things was the fact that he brought her to watch the sunset. She didn’t know if he was truly trying hard to make her fall for him or if he was just that good. Not needing any convincing, she happily took a seat next to him on the blanket. She looked at him as he complimented her, a light blushing painting her cheeks to match the colors that the sky was turning. “Hunter, I-” She shook her head, giggling softly as she wrapped her arm around his, scooting closer.
The brunette leaned her head against his shoulder as she took in the view, the way the orange sky barely lit the farmland below, the cows and horses grazing in the twilight before making their way to their stables and barns to sleep. Her grin grew as she took a deep breath of the autumn air. “I don’t even know what to say.” She lifter her head to rest her chin on his shoulder, looking at him. “This is probably the most romantic thing anyone’s ever done for me.” Rachel said honestly, looking at him fondly, giggling. “You’re scoring major charm points here.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter knew exactly what he was doing to Rachel and knew that all he had to do was lay down the charm and she was like putty in his hands. It was a huge boost to his ego every single time he managed to make her speechless or paint a blush across her cheeks. When Rachel mentioned him scoring charm points, he busted out laughing. Everytime she made him laugh, it made him that much happier. His chest felt fit to bursting with a pure happiness every moment he spent in Rachel’s very presence. “Well, I’m glad you like it. I mean, I knew you would but still,” he chuckled, turning his head to smile at her. He brought his arm around her and pulled him closer against his body, holding himself up with his free arm.
The sky grew a bolder and brighter orange as the sun continued its descent, and Hunter sighed contentedly. In that moment it felt like no one else existed but the two of them. He was reminded of the way he felt on their first date-- reminded of the way that Rachel always seemed to make him feel. They watched as the sky evolved through an array of different colors as sunset slowly became twilight. It made him think about how his little “thing” with Rachel had evolved from a little flirtation and one silly kiss into something much more meaningful. Rachel meant a great deal to him.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel loved the way it felt when Hunter pulled her closer, she liked that it felt like they could never be close enough when they were together. She leaned into him as they watched the sky, sighing happily as she thought of the guy next to her, barely paying attention to the sunset anymore as the glowing orb sunk lower behind the earth. After a few moments of silence, she looked at him again, her eyelashes fanning down across her cheeks as she glanced down, shaking her head. There were a lot of things running through her mind but nothing that she could express in a proper sentence. So she forgot the words and she leaned up to where their faces were on the same level.
At first she only pressed her lips against his for a gentle kiss, one of pure sweetness. But then she kissed him again and she kissed him in a slower manner, using the kiss to relay the things she was feeling as her lips moved almost agonizingly slow, moving closer to him as her forehead wrinkled. That usual spark that came with kissing Hunter ignited a fire in her stomach, burning a bit hotter this particular time. The kiss was slow and hot, her feelings for him very evident from how gentle it was despite the intensity.
Hunter Clarington:
When sunset was over and the sky grew darker as the stars started to peek out, Hunter turned to look at Rachel. Before he could say anything to her, she had kissed him. Pleasantly surprised, Hunter’s eyes fluttered shut and he smiled into her first kiss. He loved how soft her lips were and how she tasted faintly of vanilla regardless of whatever she ate or drank beforehand. When she moved into kiss him a second time, Hunter wrapped his arms around her and hummed softly against her lips. His brow furrowed as he followed her lead, his lips parting slightly as she deepened the kiss and suddenly he felt a certain craving for the girl. Not sexual or physical, but… something. Hunter couldn’t remember a time when anyone kissed him like this.
Hunter understood what he meant to Rachel. He was aware that he held all of the power and ability to break her heart into a million pieces. The amount of trust she put into him was a lot-- enough for him to understand the seriousness of their relationship. When they finally broke away from the kiss to take a breath of air, Hunter found himself feeling a bit breathless. His face was flushed and hot, and he almost felt dazed as he opened his eyes to look at Rachel. “... Wow,” he couldn’t help but to laugh, smiling bashfully. He couldn’t find much else to say as he raked a hand through his hair and licked his lips. He could still feel the kiss lingering, making his face red hot.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel’s kiss had effectively taken their breath away and she shared his same bashful smile, giggling softly as she glanced down, biting hard on her lip as her cheeks flushed deep red. “Yeah, wow.” She agreed, bringing her knees up to her chest, running her hands over her face before looking at him again. “Oh, Hunter Clarington, what are you doing to me?” Her voice was soft and wrapped in a chuckle as she leaned in to steal one more kiss.
She felt addicted to Hunter in a way-- she craved him just the same as he craved her. In that unexplainable way that no one could ever find the words for, and in every other way possible. He made it very easy for her to lose herself and just drown in him. She was so close to the edge that she was certain that drowning in him would be exactly what she did that night. She stole a couple more kisses from him, just the same as before, slow and hot, and before they knew it the sun was pretty much completely gone. A dark blue blanket covered them and the stars sparkled above.
Rachel happily followed Hunter back to his bike, holding his hand and staying close to him as they made their way back down the hill. She floated on cloud nine all the way to Westerville, sitting a little closer to him and holding on a little tighter, the feeling of their kisses still burning her lips.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter almost didn’t want to move from his spot on that blanket with Rachel. He wanted to stay with her there and it just be the two of them and night sky, the rest of the world forgotten. But Hunter had made a promise to take her swimming and he was going to keep his promise. He reluctantly led her back to his bike all the while holding her hand, a growing tension between them that had been very different from the other times they’d spent together. At least it felt different to the man.
They made their way back to Westerville and Hunter knew the route like the back of his hand. With the sun gone, the air had become chilly but he had Rachel’s kiss and her arms wrapped around his torso keeping him arm. He felt her body press up against his back and it made him smile like an idiot. When they arrived back in Westerville and pulled up into the Dalton Academy parking lot, it was already past the time when the staff enforced all boys be back in their dorms. Hunter was careful to keep his motorcycle to a dull purr as he parked it and led Rachel inside. “C’mon; I don’t want us to get caught,” he whispered to her as they maneuvered through the school and made their way to the swimming pool. Hunter knew of an entrance that would be unlocked and at this hour, no one had any reason to go swimming so it would be easy to go by undetected.
“I’m guessing you didn’t bring a swimsuit in that little purse of yours?” He asked with a coy smile when they arrived at the pool. He already knew the answer and knew an entire change or clothes or even a swimsuit wouldn’t have fit in her bag. Hunter started getting undressed, pulling his shirt over his head and letting it fall to the ground. “I’ll swim in my underwear if it’ll make you feel better,” he assured her, undoing the buckle of his jeans before letting them pool around his ankles and stepping out of them.
Rachel Berry:
Sneaking into Dalton after hours to swim and to spend the night with Hunter made Rachel feel so bad and it felt so good. She liked that Hunter brought out the side of her that was fearless and willing to do things she wanted without being afraid. She wasn’t afraid when she was with him-- she didn’t feel like she needed to be. It felt like nothing bad could happen and even if it did, she could face whatever it was because Hunter was there with her. He made her feel weak and strong all at the same time.
Rachel felt like an idiot when they got to the pool and she realized she had not prepared for their date as much as she’d originally thought-- she completely forgot to get the bag she packed that was still lying on the floor in her room. Therefore, she had no swimsuit. Great. She blushed, almost embarrassed as Hunter began to undress. “Hunter-- I can’t..” She giggled softly, covering her face with her hands for a moment before peeking through to take a nice, good look at the man in front of her. Sure, they were still teenagers by definition, but Hunter was a man and his body was gorgeous. Gorgeous enough to make her heart skip a beat, sending signals through her body, her entire body. It didn’t take too much more convincing before the shorter was kicking off her shoes. “Okay, okay.” She figured being in her bra and panties wasn’t much different than the bikini she’d packed. “You think you’re just so good because you actually got me in my underwear on this date, huh?” She teased, unbuttoning her shorts to pull them down along with her tights. A little nervous, she pulled her sweater up and over her head, revealing her dark, navy colored matching bra and panties set, hot pink lace acting as an outline to both.
Rachel bit down on her bottom lip as she looked to Hunter, giggling softly once more, shaking her head. “Last one in has to buy breakfast in the morning.” She said with a cute nose crinkle before running and jumping into the pool with a splash.
Hunter Clarington:
When Hunter was stripped down to just his black boxer briefs, he chuckled when Rachel initially covered her face as to not look at him. It was cute how one girl could be so adventurous and sexy but then be so innocent and adorable at the same time. “I'd like to think I've won yet again, yes,” he said with a smirk on his face. As he watched Rachel undress, he watched her with hungry, invading eyes. He could feel himself practically salivating and he had to swallow thickly when she had stripped down to just her underwear. Hunter was no fool-- he knew what a matching bra and panties meant on a date. He knew what she probably had in mind when she chose to wear those today of all days.
Before he could say anything more, Rachel was already jumping into the pool. Hunter supposed he should be grateful for the water being there to cool him off-- just watching Rachel undress already had him hot and bothered. Diving into the pool after her with a laugh, he swam over to her and smiled brightly. “The water feels great, right?” he asked her as he floated nearby. “I love the way the water feels. It’s so relaxing.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel giggled softly as Hunter swam up to her as she floated easily, treading the water beneath her. She couldn’t help but smile back at him when he flashed her his bright grin, shaking her head. “It feels wonderful.” She agreed. “You must love the way it feels if you chose the swim team over lacrosse-- which is probably a good thing considering their team.” She chuckled softly, shaking her head. She was thankful that Sebastian and Hunter hadn’t been on every team together.
Taking a deep breath, Rachel closed her eyes and went under the water to relish in the feeling for a moment before coming back up and wiping under her eyes to rid of any mascara that might’ve been running. Swimming over to the wall of the pool so she could hang on the edge and slowly kick her legs under the water, she looked at her date, smiling at him and shaking her head. She thought about the moments that led up to this one, the one where he was in a pool, at night, in her underwear, with a boy. She chuckled softly as she glanced down, feeling giddy with a warmth that she’s surprised didn’t cause steam in the cool water. “So, Hunter,” She began, thinking of their previous conversations about him being dangerous, a thought that always followed those of her falling for him. “You mentioned me needing to know what I was getting into, claiming skeletons in your closet.” Rachel grinned a little at him, shrugging slightly. “Enlighten me, tell me about those skeletons. I told you, you don't scare me. Let me prove it.” Her voice was soft as she bit her lip.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter casually swam around Rachel, watching as she dipped herself into the pool to enjoy the temperature and overall feeling it gave her. He shared the same feeling as he swam over to her to rest alongside the edge, both dripping and wet. He thought she looked gorgeous like this. He’d laughed at her comment about not being on the lacrosse team; he could only imagine the drama that would’ve stemmed there and the grief he avoided by choosing swim team instead.
When she asked him about the skeletons in his closet, Hunter wasn’t sure how to answer. He regretted ever mentioning such things to her. With pursed lips, he thought of how he would even begin. “Well, I think there’s still some skeletons from when we decorated for Halloween if you want me to go look for one.” Apparently Hunter wanted to start with a lame joke, hoping to deter Rachel from the subject if even a little bit. When she didn’t budge and gave him a pointed look, he sighed and shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. I think you’ve already gotten the idea that things at home aren’t too great for me,” he confessed, avoiding eye contact with her. “Y’know I haven’t had a room at home to call my own since I was ten years old? When my family moved, they didn’t bother setting up a room for me so they just have a guest bedroom now.” Hunter spoke with an amused smile on his face but his voice came out bitter and upset. He shook his head at how incredulous it sounded saying the fact out loud and he laughed coldly.
Before Rachel could approach him to comfort him, he let himself sink in the water and submerged himself. When he came up for air, he wiped his face and slicked back his hair. “My family thinks I’m some model student whose only focus is schoolwork and the military. I put up this front with them but they don’t know anything about me, really. I guess I should be grateful, though; they pay for my everything as long as I keep my grades up and stay out of trouble.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel was sad to hear that her suspicions had been confirmed about Hunter not having a great home life. She chewed on her lip as she listened to him, glad to see that he was so willing to at least share something with her. The urge to comfort him was halted by him dipping into the water, she took the cue and held off for a moment and she let him finish his story.
“Well,” She started when he was finished, reaching for his hand. “I'm sorry to hear I was right about your family.” She said sincerely as she gently tugged on his arm to bring him closer to her. “I hoped I wasn't. But, you know, your family-- it's their loss.” She said softly, her big brown eyes looking up into his as she pressed her back against the wall again, letting her legs slip around his waist, placing her hands on his chest. “It's going to take more than an unhappy home life to scare me away, Hunt.” She whispered to him.
Hunter Clarington:
When Rachel reached out for him, Hunter eagerly brought her closer and let her rest her almost naked body against his own as he clung to the edge of the wall. It was a slight relief to know that Rachel still accepted him for who he was but his parents were just the tip of the iceberg. He didn't want to get into the detail that if his family found out about their relationship, they would strongly disapprove. “Are you sure it's okay, though? I mean, I know your family is important to you and you spoke so fondly of spending Thanksgiving with them all-- I just don't want you to have any expectations for, well, anything.”
Hunter knew that he was probably getting a little ahead of himself here since he and Rachel weren't even official but he didn't want to continue seeing a girl that would one day want to meet his parents. “If you really think that you'll be okay with that, then I'm all for us to continue doing,” he gestured between the two of them, “whatever this is.” With the cool water swirling around them, Hunter could feel Rachel’s heat radiating from her body. He rested his forehead against hers, their lips mere centimeters apart. “And I really want to keep doing whatever this is with you.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel rolled her eyes a little bit, slipping her arms around Hunter’s neck, a smile pulled at her lips as she rested her forehead against his. “I don't want to stop doing this either.” Shrugging her shoulders, she crinkled her nose. “We don't need to have Thanksgiving with your family, or any family functions. I'm already becoming very protective of you so I don't want to get in a cat fight with your mom.” She teased him to slightly lighten the mood.
“You can't help your family situation-- it isn't a deal breaker.” She assured him, looking him in the eye. “Like I said, it'll take a lot more than a tough family life to scare me away.” She smiled at him sweetly, she tightened her legs around his waist to hold him even closer, her back tight against the pool wall. “You are a really great guy. And I want you.” Her voice was very soft. “Whatever it takes or whatever it means.” Rachel shook her head, feeling the heat in her stomach warm her entire body. Their close proximity was a bit overwhelming despite the seriousness of their conversation. She made sure he was looking into her eyes before she repeated her words wrapped in a quiet whisper for only him to hear.
“I want you, Hunt.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter listened as Rachel spoke, clinging to every word. He chuckled softly when she teased him about getting into a catfight with his mom. Although he was sure the encounter would be much uglier than Rachel was making it out to be, it still made him laugh and he was once again reminded of the way that Rachel always seemed to make him feel-- happy. “I like that you don't scare easy,” he told her, breathing her in.
With the two of them pressed against the wall, Hunter listened carefully as Rachel dropped her voice and spoke in a whisper. The words echoed in his ears first before the girl repeated herself. I want you. His ears were ringing and he almost became dizzy from the arousal alone. He brought his hand up to cup the side of her face and pressed her against the wall as he kissed her with a good amount of force. Rachel was just too irresistible. “I want you-- God, I want you so fucking bad, Rach.” He told her after he broke their kiss. He could feel his insides swirling and bundling up into something unexplainable-- something that went beyond his primal, sexual desire for Rachel.
He pursed his lips before he offered her his invitation, “Do you wanna get outta here? Come back to my room?”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel's insides sparked when Hunter kissed her so hard, thankful that she was being held up between the wall and Hunter or else she might've sunk to the bottom of the pool. She was drowning in Hunter and she liked it. She welcomed it. The way he cursed and said her name was enough to draw a soft noise from her, arousing her further.
Her brown eyes fluttered open when their kiss came to an end and with a wrinkle settled in her forehead, all Rachel did was nod. She didn't even recognize herself as she told him yes-- he did things to her that were unexplainable and she couldn't easily resist. He made her question everything- about everything and herself.
She kissed him needily once before pushing him off her gently so they could exit the pool. She grabbed a towel from a nearby shelf that held clean towels for the swim team, wrapping herself in it and grabbing her clothes and shoes before taking Hunter’s hand and letting him lead her to his room. She knew at any moment if she decided she wasn't comfortable, she could tell him no and he would absolutely back off and they would be okay.
That fact made her want him that much more.
Hunter Clarington:
As soon as Rachel gave him the green light, Hunter got out of the pool as quickly as possible. He made sure he was holding onto her hand tightly as they made their way to the dorms. It was very late and no one else was roaming the halls at this hour. Even with a towel wrapped around him, he was dripping wet and tracked it all the way back to his room but he didn't care. The walk back to his room felt infinitely too long and his heart was pounding in his chest the entire way there.
This was it. This was happening.
He pulled her into his room and was thankful that his roommate had agreed to spend the night at his friend’s. Hunter and Rachel had the room all to themselves. As soon as they were inside, Hunter closed and locked the door. He all but pounced on Rachel, grabby hands pulling the towel off if her and he pulled her into a hungry kiss as they staggered toward the bed. Hunter fell onto the bed first, pulling Rachel on top of him. They were both still wet from being in the pool but Hunter didn't care right now. He kissed her eagerly and he groped her, a hand squeezing her perky ass.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel couldn't help but giggle, covering her mouth as they attempted to quietly make their way to his room. She didn't care that they were leaving a trail either, she didn't care about anything in that moment. All she cared about was her pounding heart and her desire for Hunter building the closer they got to the other’s dorm.
She giggled again when Hunter eagerly kissed her and threw her towel away-- he wanted her. He wanted her. She had never felt so beautiful or sexy or wanted, ever. Rachel loved the way Hunter made her feel and she couldn't get enough, she was addicted to his kiss, his touch. She wanted more.
Letting Hunter pull her down to the bed, she moved to straddle him, placing her hands on his chest and kissing him with purpose- hot and heavy. When she felt his hand on her butt she squeaked softly before humming against his lips. She loved how he touched her-- even when he grabbed her ass it was still almost gentle in a way. Biting his lip, she let her hips roll down ever so slightly to feel some friction, growing more needy and aroused by the minute.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter hummed against her lips and as Rachel rolled her hips down, he pushed his hips up to meet her movements. He let out a quiet groan at the pressure then, his cock growing hard, very quickly. He let his hands explore Rachel's body as he kissed her again and again, his fingers expertly undoing the latch of her bra. He pulled it off of her and pulled back from their heated kisses to look up at her. With the dimmed lights in the room, she looked absolutely gorgeous and Hunter felt his arousal peak. With a gentle hand, he reached out and touched her, his thumb grazing over an erect nipple. “You're so hot, Rach,” he whispered to her, watching her reaction and her facial expression carefully. Hunter was acutely aware that Rachel was a virgin, through and through, and wanted to take his time with her. He wanted this to be something special and especially memorable.
With Rachel straddling him, Hunter had both hands grabbing at her tits, kneading them in a way that he knew she would like. He bit his lip as he watched her, feeling himself getting even harder under her weight.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel sat up when she felt Hunter undoing her bra, letting him take it off, dragging her hands down his chest. She bit her lip as she ran her hand through her brunette hair to flip it to one side, a slight blush on her cheeks. This was new territory for her-- she'd never been naked in front of someone before and it was a big deal. A small gasp fell from her parted lips as Hunter touched her, chills rising on her skin.
Her eyes fell closed as she relished in the feeling of the Warbler’s hands on her, a soft whine crawling from the back of her throat, her panties were no longer wet just from the pool. “Mmm.” She hummed, licking her lips as she rolled her hips again. She needed to feel the friction- she ached to be touched. Leaning down again, Rachel captured Hunter’s lips in another heated kiss.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter moaned into the kiss and even though he already felt like he needed release lest he explode right there on the spot, he had something in mind that he wanted to do with Rachel-- for Rachel. He gently pushed her back and guided her to lie down on the bed. He hovered over her and kissed her passionately, his strong arms holding him up. “I wanna make you feel good,” he murmured into her ear as he kissed down her neck, peppering a trail of kisses down her chest and her stomach as he lowered himself on the bed. He hooked his fingers into the waistband of her wet underwear, looking up to her face to see her reaction as he pulled them off. It was intoxicating to watch her every move, every erotic expression. Seeing every little touch affect her in such a big way really turned him on.
With Rachel now completely naked and exposed, Hunter felt he should do the same to at least not leave her feeling so alone. He quickly shucked off his boxer briefs and tossed them to the other side of the room to be forgotten. He coaxed her to spread her legs and bit his lip when he got a look at her virgin pussy. He slipped a finger between her pussy lips and almost gasped at how wet he’d found her. “Fuck, babe…” he whispered, a single digit circling her clitoris. As always, he watched carefully to gauge her reaction. He wanted to take things slow-- for her.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel’s back arched ever so slightly as Hunter whispered to her and kissed down her neck, her entire body burning with a warmth that only came with being with Hunter. She kept her eyes on him as he kissed down her body, leaving trails of fire underneath her skin with every kiss, biting on her lip harder as he tugged at her panties. She let him undress her, complying when he wanted her legs to spread. She spread them easily, more than willing to let Hunter touch her. She was far beyond turning back by then-- the need for Hunter much stronger than any voice the might’ve been in her head any other night.
She could feel her heart pounding hard against her chest and her breath becoming shaky as Hunter touched her, a gasp caught in her throat when he touched her clit, causing her to squirm under him. The pet name rolling off his lips and the sound of his low voice cursing just turned her on more, causing her to become even wetter. She noticed the way Hunter looked at her-- she thought it was sweet of him to keep an eye on her, making sure she was okay. Nodding her head once, she licked her lips again. “I’m okay, Hunter, I promise.” She said almost breathlessly as she craved more from him. “Please.” She begged, moving against his finger to coax him into more.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter knew that he was the only other person to have been granted access to even see Rachel like this, let alone touch her. It was breathtaking to see the girl so willing to give him her everything in this moment.
When she gave him the go-ahead, something changed in the man’s expression as he slipped his index finger deep into her velvety wetness. She was so hot-- figuratively and literally-- and Hunter could feel his cock throbbing, wishing it could take his finger’s place. He experimented by rotating his finger inside of her at first, loving the way she squirmed because of his touch. She was so wet and it made the slide all the more easier. When she ground her hips down to intensify the feeling, Hunter added another finger and pushed in even deeper. He crooked his fingers inside of her, waiting for any indication from Rachel that he’d found her G-spot.
Rachel Berry:
With one of Hunter’s fingers inside of her, Rachel whimpered softly, the feeling was new and she liked it and needed more-- but when he pushed a second digit into her she whined, sultry and low as she moved against his motions. It felt so good. “Hunter,” she whimpered softly before she felt the taller crook his fingers and she gasped loudly.
As Hunter hit that sweet spot she gripped the bedding below and spread her legs a bit more, her back arching deeper as she squirmed. “Oh, Hunt.” She full-on moaned the nickname the other claimed to not like as she moved down against him to feel that feeling again. She needed more, more, more. “Harder.”
Hunter Clarington:
When Rachel squeaked and moaned out to him, a devious smile made its way onto Hunter’s lips. He repeated the same motion again and again, following Rachel's instructions to do it harder. With his free hand he groped at her tit again, massaging and kneading it to add to her pleasure. He loved the way that Rachel's tits seemed to fit perfectly in his hand-- like they were made for specifically him to touch and do as he pleased.
He continued to press little imaginary circles against that coveted sweet spot, urging for her to climax. “C'mon, babe, want you to come for me,” he coaxed, looking down at her and looking her in the eye. “Come for me, Rach.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel's brown eyes fell to meet Hunter’s as he fingered her harder, her breath heavy as she moved her body against him, the muscles in her abs contracting with every movement, her skin glistening with a thin layer of sweat as she got closer to the edge.
She obviously knew what an orgasm felt like- she'd taken care of herself many times. Most times lately with Hunter in mind. But she hadn't felt one rush at her so fast before-- it was almost as if Hunter was too good. Her insides twisted when he coaxed her to come for him, her name coming out of his mouth was enough to push her over the edge and her body shook. Her eyes screwed shut and her back arched off the bed completely as she whined loudly, clenching around his fingers as her orgasm hit her. Panting Hunter’s name as she ground her hips down, desperately riding her orgasm.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter was very pleased with himself for making her come so strongly from just his fingers alone. His fingers coated with a slick wetness, he pulled them out of her once she'd come down from her orgasm. He sucked the juices off of each of his digits, relishing in the taste as he looked down at her trying to catch her breath. He wasn't done with her yet.
“That's my girl-- coming so well for me,” he praised. His voice was quiet and soft but there was a certain darkness in his tone-- possessive and powerful. He grinned at her as he licked his lips, running his hands up and down her naked thighs before spreading them as wide as he could and ducking his head down. He plunged face-first into her open cunt, his tongue flickering the hard little button peeking out under her mound. When he felt her hips jerking and grinding down against him, he only moaned and continued his ministrations.
Rachel Berry:
A shiver ran up Rachel’s spine at the way Hunter spoke to her- she loved it. She loved how he wanted her to feel like she belonged to him- she liked feeling like she belonged to him. So far she wasn't having any regrets about her choices.
She barely had time to catch her breath before Hunter was spreading her legs again and settling himself between them. Biting her lip hard, her body trembled and jerked as he licked her- her body still sensitive from her first orgasm. Gasping quietly as she felt the vibrations from his moan against her, their conversation before flashing through her mind as he talked about eating her out- she figured he'd be good since he'd had experience before but she didn't know he'd be so good.
A slight insecurity that she might not be as good as whatever girl he had been with before popped up in the back of her mind but it was quickly washed away with the wave of pleasure that came with the way Hunter's tongue worked against her, her skin burning from the way his hands felt on her body. Her forehead wrinkled deeply as she ground down against his face, the sensitivity subsiding finally. “Hunter..” All she could manage to say was his name, but she wanted him to know she felt so good.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter licked and slurped at the abundant wetness; his hands exploring and touching Rachel wherever he could reach. With his large hands on her body, she felt smaller somehow. It was almost like she was this precious, fragile thing that he didn't want to break. But at the same time he wanted nothing more but to break her until she came undone-- a trembling, feverish, mess who couldn't come anymore. He traced the letters of the alphabet against her wet sex, repeating the ones that made her moan over and over again. He spelled out little words, her name, his name-- all with his tongue.
Hearing his name fall from her lips in such a desperate, wanton voice turned him on. He wanted her to keep saying his name over and over again and he didn't care if anyone heard them or not. What probably turned him on the most was that he was the first person to see her and touch her this way. Rachel was a virgin and had never let another soul come anywhere near her like this. He looked up at her to the best of his ability from his position, memorizing exactly how she looked. If going down on her hadn't already made him rock hard, watching her reaction certainly would have. His cock was damn near throbbing and seeking some much needed relief; Rachel was not the only one desperate for more. He hummed once more against her cunt, the vibrations of his tongue and mouth on her pushing her closer to the edge once more.
Rachel Berry:
As Hunter continued to lick her over and over, Rachel moved against his motions to meet them, it all felt so overwhelming. Almost as if it was too much and not enough at the same time. She could already feel her second orgasm rushing towards her at full speed as Hunter was seemingly reciting the alphabet with his tongue against her clit- certain letters making her moan louder and deeper than others.
With her back arching yet again, Rachel reached down to tangle her fingers in Hunter’s hair, tugging on it as she gripped the sheets tightly with her free hand- her toes curling under as her body shook with another orgasm. It was even more intense this time around and her eyes rolled back into her head, her hand pulling at his hair as she came for him again.
Rachel whined Hunter’s name over and over again, throwing Hunt in there a few times as well, her words mixed with a series or loud whimpers and moans-- even a mumbled profanity crawled its way out of her mouth. Had she not been so drunk off of her orgasm and Hunter in general she might've been embarrassed by it- but considering she way lying there under him naked, her body covered in sweat, dripping wet and orgasming in front of him, she was beyond being embarrassed about anything.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter ate Rachel through her orgasm, gratefully licking up and swallowing down her sweet juices. He pushed himself back up off of the bed, using the back of his hand to wipe his mouth. He climbed his way back up to meet her face-to-face, looking down at her completely debauched expression. “Fuck, Rach; you're too fucking hot.” He lowered himself to kiss her needily, the taste of her lips mixing with her juices and he moaned at how dirty it all was. “I love the way you say my name,” he admitted, squaring his hips with hers before he rolled them down for his hard cock to brush up against her body. He let out a shuddering breath, the mere touch alone enough to send a thrill up his spine.
“Wanna be inside of you-- wanna feel you,” he told her, looking into her eyes. He was bordering on desperate for her after making her come twice already when he hadn't yet. He reached over to his nightstand to procure a condom. He ripped through the wrapper with his teeth and straddling the girl, he slipped it onto his cock with ease. “How do you want me?” He asked, multiple possible positions flashing through his head. He stroked his cock slightly to alleviate some of the pressure that had built up. “I promise to go slow,” he assured her, aware that this was a big step Rachel was taking as a woman. He was eager but not selfishly so. “... wanna make you feel good.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel clung to Hunter when he came up to kiss her, kissing him back with desperation as she wrapped her arms around him and hummed against his lips. She loved the way he spoke to her, the way he kissed her, the way he touched her. The things she felt-- she knew this wasn't just some random sexual act for him. She knew she meant something to him and she could feel it.
Her brown eyes fluttered open to watch Hunter as he reached for a condom and suddenly things felt real. She was really about to do this- she was going to give Hunter everything. She was breaking her promise to herself that she'd kept for years. And yet, she couldn't find anywhere inside of her that rejected it.
Licking her lips, her breath finally calming into soft but heavier than normal breaths, she looked up at him and took in the sight for the first time. Hunter was gorgeous. His body was near perfect and she noted the freckles sprinkled across his soft skin, making plans to kiss them sometime in the near future. Biting her lip as her eyes trailed down to watch Hunter effortlessly roll the condom onto his erection, Rachel's arousal already began to return. She wasn't finished, either, and she wanted more. Shaking her head as he asked her where she wanted him and promised he'd go slow, she felt warmth in her heart that he cared so much for her. With a small smile on her lips, she leaned up to pull him closer, kissing him slow and hot. Spreading her legs for him once more, her voice was soft and low. “However you want me. Just want you to take me, Hunt.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter had kept his eyes on Rachel when he listened to her answer, witnessing the certainty and determination exuding from her entire being. He saw the way she looked at him with such desire that he knew there was no turning back. With a gentle smile, he lowered himself to capture her in one more kiss. “Just like this, then,” he decided, shifting onto the bed. He spread her legs so that his body rested between them, nothing but the thin rubber separating themselves from each other. Pushing back from behind Rachel’s thigh, he spread her as widely as possible as he positioned his cock at her entrance. He was so big and she was so small; for a moment he was worried he wouldn't fit but by God he was willing to try his best.
Holding the base of his cock, the blunt tip rested right at Rachel’s wet, dripping entrance. He hoped that he had prepped her and made her come enough that she could accommodate him. With a firm hand on her leg giving her a little squeeze, he locked eyes with Rachel as an unspoken warning that this was it. He entered her slowly, biting down on his lip as he showed as much restraint as physically possible. As he pushed in, all he could think was tight, tight, tiiiight. He felt Rachel clenching hungrily around him, trying her best to take him in. When he couldn't push in any further, he let out a rough exhale and looked down at her. He let his body drape over hers, holding himself up and hovering over her. It was a simple missionary position but this was Rachel’s first time and they could save the more adventurous positions for another time. Tonight was about taking it slow. “Okay?” he asked, his fingers just barely brushing against her cheek. He really wanted to start moving but he knew he was a lot to take in at once and Rachel was more important to his desire to get off.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel bit down hard on her lip when she felt Hunter’s erection pressing against her entrance. This was it, no turning back now. With her forehead wrinkled, she looked up at Hunter as he began to push into her, the intrusion causing her eyes to close. She was surprised that it didn't really hurt at all, she was thankful for the amount of foreplay Hunter cared to do before they got to this point. He took care of her and that meant everything to her.
Her lips parted and she gasped as she felt him deep inside of her, a whine falling from her mouth. “Oh my god.” When Hunter let himself down on her she immediately clung to him, letting her legs hook on his hips. She clung to him so tightly that her back came up off the bed slightly and she moved down to attempt to take him deeper, wanting more. It felt so good to be filled with Hunter. She felt so connected to him and once again she felt completely overwhelmed with the things she was feeling mentally, emotionally and physically.
When Hunter paused to make sure she was okay, Rachel nodded her head, her breath shaking, body trembling. “Y-yes. I'm okay. Feels really good, Hunt.” She whispered against his ears. “So good.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter smiled when Rachel ensured that she was doing okay despite her shaky breath or the fact that there was deep wrinkle between her brows. He rubbed his hand up and down her sides affectionately. When Rachel dug her heels into his back, he leaned in and it caused his cock to delve even deeper into her. “I'm gonna move; just tell me if it's too much for you.” Hunter warned and he started moving, slowly. At first he pulled out until only the head of his cock was still buried, then he rolled his hips back down and sunk himself back into her. The action overwhelmed him with pleasure and he shut his eyes as he repeated the motion.
Again. And again. And again.
Soon, Hunter had built up to a steady rhythm, and he could feel his body tensing up. His muscles rippled as he found it more and more difficult to reel himself back in, his fingers digging into Rachel's hips as he bucked into her. Each thrust was harder than the last until the rhythm began to tumble into an erratic mess. He panted out short, heavy breaths and he could feel sweat beading along his brow and his back.
Rachel Berry:
As he pulled out and buried himself deeper inside of her, Rachel clung harder and harder to Hunter, her nails digging into his back as she clenched around him. The amount of pleasure was intensified by the closeness of their bodies, the feeling of their skin touching and not being able to tell where she began and he ended was almost enough for her to orgasm again right then and there.
Placing one of her hands on the back of Hunter’s neck, she pushed their faces together to kiss him desperately, biting on his bottom lip as a deep groan made its way out of the back of her throat. She kept her hand on the Warbler’s neck to keep their foreheads pressed together, sharing each other’s hot breath as they panted harder with every movement. “Hunt, Hunter.” She whined his name for the hundredth time that night. She continued to whine his name, her voice only loud enough for them to hear but the more she repeated his name, the louder she got as she felt her third orgasm of the night threatening to hit.
Hunter Clarington:
Rachel's hands clinging to him and her nails digging into his back left a delicious pain that he would later crave once more. They both moved in tandem with one another that it almost felt like they were melting into each other. He was certain by the end of the night he would be addicted to the way she said his name. He knew he couldn't keep up the charade that he disliked that nickname because when she said it, it drove him wild.
Hunter felt his climax fast approaching and as Rachel pulled him in for a messy, charged kiss, he recognized when his body exceeded the point of no return. “Rach… G-gonna come,” he gasped against her lips as she held them together, his hips now bucking wildly into her. His entire body flexed and with an especially forceful thrust into her, he was coming. “Fuck, fuck, fuck…” he chanted as he moved erratically, riding out his orgasm and his spend spilled into the condom. He felt like his insides were on fire and every last bit of him was being poured out and into Rachel.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel moved her hips against Hunter’s desperately, as she moaned and whimpered against his mouth, panting harder as he gasped her name. Before she knew it her orgasm hit her so hard she almost blacked out- throwing her head back and moaning about loudly as she came all around him. Her orgasm hitting her harder than the first two. Keeping herself clenched around him as his orgasm hit, wanting him to ride it out in the most pleasurable way possible. Her brown eyes fluttered as she fell back onto the bed, her back arched once more as he pounded into her.
Her body trembled harshly as they began to slow, the pleasure almost being too much for her to handle. As she let herself finally completely rest against the bed she was panting hard, soft whimpers and whines escaping her as she was still high off of the intense orgasm she'd just experienced. “Hunter.” She whined, a wrinkle in her forehead and a chuckle on her lips. “Holy moly.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter was relieved when Rachel came with him, his entire body feeling like jelly as he came down from his high. He almost fell limp on top of the girl but he managed to muster up enough upper body strength to slowly lower himself onto her, chest heaving with heavy breaths. He'd become flaccid but was still inside of her, unmoving as he tried to catch his breath. He chuckled at her words; he shared the same sentiment. “Holy moly is right,” he said between pants.
Watching Rachel come multiple times tonight because of him had left him somewhat dazed. After a few moments of them holding each other, Hunter slowly and gingerly slipped out of Rachel. He hissed at the touch, now too sensitive for anything as he pulled the used condom off and carefully tied it off before slinging it into the nearby wastebasket. He fell back down on the bed but not before grabbing his blankets and covered the two of them. He laid down next to Rachel and turned to face her, kissing her even though they were both still feeling the effects of their orgasms. He hummed contentedly into her mouth, his whole body thrumming with happiness.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel didn't hesitate to cuddle close to Hunter when he covered them up, feeling particularly clingy after having had such an incredible sexual experience. She kissed him back slowly and lovingly, her hand on his side- pulling him as close as possible. She felt so much in that moment for the guy in front of her that it would've probably scared her if she wasn't in such a daze from said feelings and the orgasms.
She kissed Hunter again, slower, with more feeling before she finally broke it to look up at him, placing her hands on his chest. Rachel couldn't stop a big grin from spreading across her face, glancing down briefly and chuckling again. “Hunter, that was-” She shook her head, almost at a loss for words. “More perfect that I could've dreamed.
Hunter Clarington:
Rachel’s slow kisses and toothy grin made Hunter smile up at her despite his tiredness. He chuckled lowly and gave her a smug look, his ego properly inflated. “I'm glad you liked it so much. I'll gladly do it again for you-- anytime you want it.” He waggled his eyebrows at her then, running his hand up and down her naked back. “We could even do it in the morning if you really wanted-- I'm great in the morning.” Despite his casual demeanor, Hunter looked at Rachel and touched her with care and comfort. He meant every last word.
They were still naked together and Hunter didn't mind at all. In fact, he was glad to see that even after everything, Rachel hadn't shied away or regretted anything that happened. He really wanted to keep seeing Rachel and being with her like this. He felt like he could definitely get used to having her naked in his bed. Or maybe even him being naked in her bed.
He looked up at her and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. He couldn't wipe that stupid grin off of his face when he saw how happy she was. How happy that he made her.
Rachel Berry:
Rachel chuckled softly as Hunter suggested that they could have a replay in the morning. Raising her eyebrows, she let her thumb caress his chest slowly, brushing over one his freckles, smiling softly. “I think I need a break- but I'll let you know in the morning.” She said with another soft chuckle, wincing softly as she moved to tangle her naked legs with his, a dull pain in her pelvic area.
As Hunter looked at her with his own dumb grin, it made her giggle softly, looking down bashfully with a blush on her cheeks. She loved the way he looked at her, no one had ever looked at her that way before. Not even Finn.
“You really like me, don't you?” She asked softly, her eyes meeting his.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter laughed softly again when Rachel insisted she might need a break. It was understandable considering this was her first time ever and it certainly must've hurt. He just hoped that the pleasure outlasted whatever pain she may have sustained. When she tangled their legs together, Hunter wrapped an arm around Rachel's slender figure and pulled her closer still.
He gazed into her eyes with a gentle stare and when asked that question, he smiled bashfully. No one else was there in the room except the two of them. There was nothing for him to hide for any reason whatsoever.
“Yeah, I do. I like you a lot.”
Rachel Berry:
Her smile widened when Hunter confirmed that he did, in fact, like her- not only that, but he liked her a lot. Those words caused the butterflies to dust off the ashes from her earlier fiery arousal and flutter around in her stomach. If she were being honest with everyone in the room she would admit that she was falling for Hunter and falling hard.
But she wasn't stupid and she knew better than to tell him that. So she just smiled sweetly at him before kissing him just as sweet, whispering against his lips, “That makes me happy.”
Hunter Clarington:
It was obvious to Hunter that his words made Rachel very happy. He liked making her happy. It was nice to feel wanted and to be trusted in such an intimate way. Smiling into the kiss, he held her close and let out another contented breath of air.
“You make me happy,” he whispered back to her, pressing another soft kiss to her lips. He liked being honest and open; it made everything seem so simple and easy.
Rachel Berry:
“Oof,” She breathed when Hunter said those words, her heart skipping a beat, giggling softly. Her face felt so warm and she was certain he blush on her cheeks was permanent by now. She melted into his embrace as he held her closer, their bodies still warm from all of their activity.
Rachel managed to snuggle even closer to her guy as she hugged against him, nuzzling her face into his neck to breathe him in-- his scent was her new favorite. “Hunter, what are you doing to me?” She repeated her word from earlier in the night, shaking her head. “You’re too sweet-- too good to me.” Rachel pressed her lips against the crook of his neck, sighing happily. “No guy has ever treated me so well-- my ex-boyfriend forgot many times that I was a vegetarian.” Memories of when she dated Finn flashed through her mind and she shook her head, leaning her elbow onto the bed, resting her head against her hand. “When he would take me out or make me dinner it would always be meat-- every time I reminded him and every time he’d be like ‘oh, that’s right, you’re kind of a vegetarian aren't you? Oh well, this it’s already dead, why not eat it?’ It would make me so mad and I would feel so alone and just-- not heard.” She said, looking at him, smiling a little. “But not you, I mentioned it half-a-time and you remembered and cared enough to take me to an all-vegetarian diner. You take care of me. I don’t...really know how to react to that.” Rachel said honestly as she shrugged her shoulder. “You really make me feel special.”
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter mirrored Rachel when she laughed, also grinning ear-to-ear and chuckling with her. He had been aware of the effect he’d had on the girl since the first time they’d gone out-- maybe even before then at the Halloween party or even when they first met face-to-face in the McKinley High School auditorium. It was always nice to be paid compliments and he feigned modesty when Rachel called him sweet. As the girl opened up about her ex-boyfriend not remembering the fact that she was a vegetarian, he scrunched his brows together and gave her a look of disbelief. He didn’t understand how someone who was dating her could just completely forget that fact. For Hunter, it was an opportunity to show the girl that he was superior to her ex in as many ways possible.
“You are special,” he told her, placing his hand over hers. He took ahold of her hand and laced their fingers together as he looked into her eyes. “And I think a girl as special as yourself deserves to be treated in the best way possible-- like the queen that you are.” He brought her hand up to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of her hand. He shrugged then, the next words he thought to say making him a little flustered even before saying them, “I like taking care of you.”
Rachel Berry:
Rachel’s heart almost completely stopped when Hunter kissed her hand, she felt dizzy from the way he was making her feel. For the hundredth time that night she was completely overwhelmed. She had no more words for them that would be deemed acceptable for a second date. She was falling in love with Hunter already and she knew it was fast even for her-- she wouldn’t tell a soul.
“I like that you think I’m special.” She whispered, cuddling closer and letting herself nuzzling into the crook of his neck again, her brown eyes becoming heavy with sleep as her body was finally completely relaxed. She tightened her legs around Hunter’s as a yawn slipped from her lips. “I think you’re special, too.” Rachel’s voice was soft as she spoke to him. “You’re a really good man.” Pressing a kiss to the other’s neck, she settled in that spot comfortably, she was absolutely spent-- so much so that she couldn’t be bothered to care that she would most likely feel insecure about being naked in the morning. In that moment she just felt too comfortable all cuddled up with Hunter, skin on skin, to care.
Hunter Clarington:
Hunter listened as Rachel spoke to him, every word keeping him warm down to the core of his entire being. He held onto her and looked down at her tired face, smiling to himself when she closed her eyes. It meant a lot to him that she thought he was a good person in spite of how their relationship started and all of the rumors and gossip that had been spoken about him. He was well-aware that some of Rachel’s friends didn’t exactly approve of him. He wholly appreciated that she took the time and the effort to look beyond that and make her own decisions when it came to him.
Watching as Rachel slowly drifted off to sleep, Hunter pressed a gentle kiss to the top of the girl’s head. He loved that she fit so perfectly lying all cuddled up next to him and he felt absolutely comfortable and at ease. He found himself yawning as well and he shut his eyes. The last thing he remembered thinking before he fell asleep was that he, too, might just be falling for Rachel as well.
