• Is a big fan of the Simpsons and can quote almost any episode word by word.

• Says that The Godfather is his favorite movie ever but it’s actually Mamma Mia. He secretly loves musicals.

• Is the only one with a Tumblr account and he’s pretty active in there.

• Definitely writes fan fiction or character studies in AO3.

•The only person that knows about that and gets to read them is Johnny.

• His pfp always matches Johnny’s in any social media platform.

• When he feels annoyed/pissed by his brothers, he likes signing them up for random ass newsletters and whatnot, making sure they get spammed constantly.

• He loves digital books and owns a Kindle but he feels like nothing compares to real books.

• His bi awakening was watching hunger games with dally and seeing peeta, made things worse when he saw the fnaf movie, he’s just a wh0re for josh hutcherson. (He would’ve made the whistle baby edit /j 😣😣🔥🔥)

• Is the only one who can actually use TikTok and he’s pretty popular. He loves doing trends with the gang, probably forcing them to do the cinnamon challenge. (they agree bc they're all stupid)

• Loves avocados a lot and gets teased for posting pictures of his meals.

• His favorite game is Assassins Creed but isn’t a big fan of the community and fandom around the game. He just wants to play it and have fun.

•Facetimes the rest of the group whenever he wants, specially Ponyboy and Darry.

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Darry

•He’s the owner of the only Netflix and/or any other streaming accounts of the group and is the one who pays for it. The rest of the gang add their own profiles and watch everything they want. (Or they share one account, there is no inbetween)

• Likes to keep up with the news and current affairs, so he follows a lot of reporters and activists on Twitter and Facebook. He’s subscribed to lots of newsletters for sure.

• Was the biggest football star of his school and got a scholarship thanks to it. He went to college but had to stop playing football eventually due to a freak accident on the field. However, this didn’t sadden him, since he got his diploma and works in things related to football anyways, he works as a coach for the local youth football team.

• His phone password is Ponyboy and soda’s birthdays mixed together.

• He is a big fan of No Doubt, when he found out that they were performing at Coachella, he absolutely lost it and started saving for a ticket immediately. When he went and saw them in the front row he cried, absolutely WEEPED.

• Constant listener of destiny’s child and connects with survivor on a personal level and he’s not scared to admit, you’ll sometimes hear him singing it while he’s doing stuff around the house while listening to music

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Dally

•Has been blocked by multiple celebrities on Twitter AND instagram, on various occasions.

•Is a very big fan of The Hunger Games and one of his favorite characters is Peeta.

•Makes sure to be the first one to text Johnny on his birthday, even if they’re standing next to each other.

•Loves crime/serial killer podcasts and has good knowledge about these topics.

•Hates going to the dentist. There is a very embarrassing video of him being out of it after getting one of his wisdom teeth removed that Johnny recorded (Dally forced Johnny to take him since he was scared).

•Is always listening to music and doesn’t like sharing his earphones unless it’s Johnny.

•Has practiced a lot of sports during his life and his favorite one so far is boxing.

•Got drunk one New Year’s Eve and confessed that Darry was like the brother he wished he had had, and that his New Years Resolution was to make it up to Darry (He never did, since he had forgotten). and nobody has ever let him live it down.

•Secret fanboy of the neighborhood, one time he thought nobody was home and started singing daddy issues at the top of his lungs, two-bit has it on video and never lets him hear the end of it about it.

• Still enjoys stealing and robbing old ladies and young children and still enjoys annoying random pretty girls on the street (so basically still and ahole)

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Johnny

• Wears denim overalls with cute sweaters and loves jackets with lots of pockets.

• Loves spicy food and is the only one in the group who can actually eat it without any problem.

• Has always wanted a puppy or any kind of pet but his situation at home always made it impossible. Because of this, Pony gifted him a goldfish one Christmas and they set the fish tank at the Curtis’ so Johnny could visit it as much as he wanted without risking getting his parents angry.

• He gets really attached to that fish pretty fast and treasures the gesture behind it. Pony and him name is Frost.

• Pony and him use Twitter DM’s just to send memes to each other and store them.

• He has a private Twitter account that only Pony gets to follow.

• Can speak Spanish and French.

•Owns a leather jacket that had been Dally’s a couple of years ago and takes care of it as if it was made of gold.

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Two-Bit

• He’s the reason why Darry had to get a Disney+ account.

• Knows all the songs from Frozen I.

• Wanted to have a mouse as a pet (since…mickey mouse, duh.) for a while but Darry refused.

• He doesn’t admit it, but he loves sweet drinks made of fruits and cocktails more than beer.

• His socks never match and they all have at least one hole in them.

• Is the one that gets the most excited about Christmas. He’s not particularly religious but he loves the decorations, and the lights, and the whole mood in general. He’s the one that always makes sure the rest of the boys have presents, even if it’s something small.

• His first time going to disney world he bawled his eyes out, like full on mental breakdown inside the park, Ponyboy and Sodapop saved up all their birthday money, allowance, and paycheck money for about a year and a half to buy the tickets. (they wanted to get a fast pass and like the entire deluxe trip for him, that's why it took so long.) Ponyboy was SO embarrassed from two-bits crying, “You’re 22, Stop. Crying. Over. Mickey.” but still was happy for him.

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Steve

• He tells everyone his top artist is Limp Bizkit but it's actually Queen, his top song was good old fashioned lover boy.

• Wakes up early to watch the F1 races and has never missed a season of Top Gear since he was little. His favorite was Hamilton, but ever since he saw that race with verstappen vs hamilton, his opinions have changed…

• He’s the best at playing video games, and he especially likes horror ones like Resident Evil. (absolute wh0re for Leon Kennedy, i am too tho so no shame)

• Sodapop and him are always playing online together and they sometimes let Ponyboy join them. Him and Sodapop gave ponyboy an unplugged controller once and said it was wireless (for the shitz and giggles and to see how long it took for him to notice), he realized half way through the game and told Darry who then yelled at them for 5 minutes.

• Doesn’t like TikTok and is always going about how Vine was just much better. (He’s stuck in 2014..)

• Gets angry when his texts go unanswered in the group chat (they do it on purpose since they know it pisses him off.)

• He listens to cotton eye joe on repeat, change my mind.

the first month of 2024 has gone by..let's see how hunger games stars have been doing.

Jennifer Lawrence: mothered at the golden globes, with her "if i don't win, i'm leaving" when announced, and her support for emma stone after she won <3333. Josh revealed she texted him after FNAF, showing support for him. Their movies were #1 on Netflix and #1 on Peacock at the time. She reunited with Lenny Kravitz at the Golden Globes, where 6 THG stars were present. It's like a mini-reunion!

Josh Hutcherson: where to begin.. His newest film, The Beekeeper was released January 12th, 2024 and has made $107 million worldwide. Also, we got a WIRED interview and puppy interview, him FINALLY back on The Tonight Show (Josh and Jimmy are such a good duo), him revealing Jen's sweet text to him, and of course...THE WHISTLE EDIT CONTINUES! (he's so sweet, he's just accepted that he's a meme). He also announced FNAF 2 is happening.

Woody Harrelson: Filming on a new film with Jamie Lee Curtis called Ella McCay. Nominated at the Golden Globes

Elizabeth Banks: Her new film, Migration, (released in December 2023), has made over $200M. Reunited with Sam Clafin at the Golden Globes, in which she presented a category.

Sam Claflin: Announces he would be open to a return to Hunger Games, expressing interest to play Finnick's dad in a potential Finnick prequel. (Finnick playing his own dad, love it) He also praised the new Hunger Games film, with Tom and Rachel's performances especially. He also reunited with Elizabeth Banks at the Golden Globes. Also, was nominated for a Golden Globe.

Jeffery Wright: Nominated at the Golden Globes for his AWESOME performance in American Fiction.

Julianne Moore: Nominated at the Golden Globes for her performance in May December.

The Case of the Golden Idol (iPhone)

I got myself one of those "Backbone" controllers for my iPhone this week, because I missed using my PS Vita to remote-play games while watching TV (it isn't compatible with PS5) The first-gen Backbone was on a deep discount and fit my phone, and for remote play it works great. In turn this prompted me to see what exciting premium games are available on Apple Arcade.

Turns out it's bupkis.

So I hopped over to Netflix, which has treated me to some excellent narrative games recently, and was pleasantly surprised to see they've added The Case of the Golden Idol. I wasn't all that familiar with it except for a vague memory of its pleasingly grotesque artwork in an Edge "Time Extend" feature a year ago, and that recollection was enough to pique my interest.

It's proven to be a set of inventively structured and ironic murder mysteries. Each case is presented as a set of interconnected tableaux, frozen in time but with maybe a short cycling animation, such as the man in the screenshot above continuing his inexorable descent. Moving between the locales and prodding highlighted points-of-interest reveals clues in dialogue, documents and images hinting at the motive, means, and narrative context of the death(s). To progress to the next case, you must demonstrate your understanding by filling in in the blanks on text "Scroll" using a small directionary of terms also gathered from the environment.

Within this simple structure, the developers Color Gray carefully direct and misdirect the player. Optional Scrolls exist which can be solved to untangle the smaller puzzles which make up the bigger mystery. The text already in each Scroll, and the problems highlighted by the Optional ones, narrow the problem space give a the player a mental scaffolding upon which more challenging solutions can be built.

Conversely, the Scrolls and the dictionaries are written in such a way as to suggest alternative answers which look plausable at first glance but which, on deeper inspection and careful consideration, are deviously constructed red herrings. This is true even where a Scroll seems to be referring to something very specific. A sudden revelation might mean that a sentence relates to entirely different events at an entirely different time, or must involve a character who had previously been written off as an inconsequential conveyer of exposition.

The construction of the puzzles expertly recreates the rhythm of set-up, investigation, suspect, twist, and revelation of great mystery fiction. I boggled at the unexpected circumstances of one character's death, only to then laugh at the irony of it. An important twist about another came to me while I was falling asleep and then, upon waking, I realised how this had been set up - almost too obviously - by earlier dialogue.

The dozen-ish individual cases in this bumper edition link together satisfyingly to tell a story of the hunger for power, buffonery, and intrigue. It's all very colonial British, apparently uncritically at times but with a secret Swiftian edge. A pleasure from start to finish, and notwithstanding a few grammar errors and bugs, a rigorously fair and enthralling challenge.

(So actually I've spent the last week not really using my iPhone controller accessory much at all. Go figure. However it's going to prove very useful on the iPhone versions of Dead Cells and Death's Door, two more great little adventures I'd never quite got around to on console.)

Current obsession: Had a fairly sharp chess game a couple of days back. I won, but I'm still running over the key moment in my head to make sure I calculated right.

Kittytopia – Chapter 2: The Secret Source Shot (Dystopian Comedy Edition

[A dimly lit hospital room, Phoenix, Arizona, August 1992]

A nurse, clad in standard-issue scrubs embroidered with an ominous cat paw logo, stood over the newborn, a syringe poised in her gloved hand. Beside her, a group of nurses watched, all sworn members of the Kitty Rainbow Mafia, an underground feline-led empire secretly controlling the fate of humankind.

“This one’s getting the standard Athlete Package,” Nurse Brenda muttered, checking the vial. “Mild agility boost, increased endurance, slight weakness to carbohydrates.”

The head nurse, Madame Whiskerstein, peered over her glasses, nodding. “Make sure the dosage is precise. We don’t need another… incident.”

Everyone in the room went silent. They all remembered Steve from Accounting, who accidentally received a double dose and now ran marathons in his sleep.

Just as Nurse Brenda prepared to inject the unsuspecting infant, something unexpected happened.

The baby, despite being mere minutes old, reached up—tiny fingers wobbling in the air—before firmly grabbing hold of Brenda’s breast.

The room fell into stunned silence.

“…Well,” one nurse finally whispered, “that’s a first.”

Madame Whiskerstein arched an eyebrow. “Interesting. Not out of hunger?”

Brenda, flustered, carefully pried the baby’s hand away. “No. This was… different. That was a power move.”

“Damn,” muttered another nurse, “this kid’s got game.”

Brenda frowned. “What do we do? He’s supposed to be an athlete, but… I don’t know, that was kind of alpha behavior.”

Madame Whiskerstein smirked. “Switch the vial.”

Gasps rippled through the room.

“Wait, switch it?” Brenda asked. “But we never—”

“You heard me.” Whiskerstein’s voice was eerily calm. “Give him the Secret Source Shot.”

Another nurse dropped her clipboard. “Are you insane? That’s still experimental! The last test subject—”

“Yes, yes, exploded into confetti, I remember,” Whiskerstein interrupted. “But this one… this one is different.” She leaned in, whispering, “In time…”

The baby just blinked at her, entirely unimpressed.

[30 Years Later – Portland, Oregon – Secret Kitty Rainbow Mafia Headquarters]

Kamela Borroson, ruthless leader of the Rainbow Mafia, sat in his plush leather chair, sipping lavender-infused kitty tea, when his chief intelligence officer, Sergeant Mittens, barged in.

“We have a problem,” Mittens said, slamming a file down.

Kamela raised an eyebrow. “Is it about the interns stealing office supplies again? Because if I find one more ‘Employee of the Month’ mug missing—”

“No, sir, it’s worse.” Mittens gulped. “It’s… him.”

Kamela put down his tea. “The Phoenix anomaly?”

“Yes, sir.” Mittens flipped open the file, revealing a photo of a man—tall, athletic, perfectly groomed beard. He had the look of someone who could steal your girlfriend and your Netflix password without remorse.

Kamela exhaled slowly. “We should’ve neutralized him at birth.”

“We tried! But he… resisted.”

Kamela frowned. “What do you mean, ‘resisted’? He was a baby.”

Mittens cleared his throat. “Sir… he, uh… grabbed a boob.”

Kamela’s teacup hit the floor. “HE DID WHAT?”

“Y-yeah,” Mittens stammered. “It was… unsettling. The nurses said it wasn’t like normal infant reflexes. It was intentional.”

Kamela paced the room. “So we gave him the Secret Source Shot.”

Mittens nodded. “And now? He’s immune to our usual mind-conditioning. He questions things. He thinks for himself.”

Kamela’s eye twitched. “That little bastard…”

Mittens hesitated. “Sir, if he figures out the truth—”

“I know.” Kamela gritted his teeth. “Find him. Before he finds himself.”

Mittens saluted. “Shall we send the Paw-lice?”

Kamela sighed. “No. Not after what happened last time.”

Mittens cringed. “Oh yeah, that… that was rough.”

“Three elite agents taken down by a single well-placed banana peel,” Kamela muttered. “Truly humiliating.”

Mittens cleared his throat. “Sir, permission to use Operation Whisker Trap?”

Kamela considered it. “You mean luring him with an attractive operative?”

“Yes, sir.”

Kamela smirked. “Make sure she’s busty. He’s got a… history.”

Mittens nodded. “Understood.”

Kamela leaned back. “Oh, and Mittens?”

“Yes, sir?”

Kamela’s eyes narrowed. “Make it purr-sonal.”

Mittens sighed. “Sir, with all due respect, please stop adding ‘purr’ to everything. It’s getting weird.”

Kamela took a long, dramatic sip of his tea. “You’re dismissed.”

And so, the hunt for the anomaly began.

Little did Kamela know… the boob-grabbing baby had become a legend.

And he was coming for them.

jennifer lawrence: mother presented best actress at the academy awards! and michelle yeoh gave emma stone's award to her haha. emma stone and jennifer lawrence are adorable besties. also, there's talk in the air jen could be in the next james bond movie?? (she was in red sparrow, after all..) and she reunited with the eternally sexy rock star, cinna, lenny kravitz at the oscars, just like she did at the golden globes haha.

josh hutcherson: newest film, the beekeeper has grossed $152M worldwide, and is the 5th highest grossing film of 2024. also derek danforth, his character, is a sexy mofo. he also talked about losing the role as spider-man to andrew garfield, and he continues to be tiktok's bae. we're not as much in the whistle edit, but we're now obsessing over derek and clapton. and peeta, but that's been around forever xD

liam hemsworth: more talk about him being in the next season of the witcher

elizabeth banks: migration has made almost 300 million.
