They should add a little sticker that certifies that the humidifier supports water conservation, but in the sense of energy conservation or momentum conservation.

Canopy 4-in-1 Humidifier Review
When you’re like me and have a toddler that stays sick off and on this is a must have for the room. It helps so much during those nights when he is sick or even if he decides to nap then too. It just makes breathing so much easier for him. The run time is 36 hours but I never let it run this long. Usually it’s just during sleep hours so no more than 10 hours. I sometimes cut it off way before…

Everything I Know Leads Me Back to You - Prelude
If You See the Shell That's Left of Me
Pairing: eventual Frankie Morales x afab!reader
Word Count: 1.5k
Warnings: Mentions of drug addiction, depression, anxiety, ptsd, trauma related to the military, angst, hurt MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Author's Note: Hello everyone!! I am so excited to share the first part of my Frankie Morales series! I have been working on this idea for over two years, and I am so nervous for it to see the light of day. Please reblog and comment with your thoughts, or feel free to send me an ask!
Everything I Know Leads Me Back to You Masterlist
He hadn’t meant for it to get this bad, but god his sinuses hurt. He sneezed, and then again, before refilling the humidifier next to his bed. He’d just gotten his nose to stop bleeding again, the skin above his mustache aching and dry from the constant rubbing.
He grabbed the Vaseline from his nightstand, rubbing the thick gel over his dry skin on his face before he climbed back into his bed. The sheets scratched at his skin, a smell emanating from them. He couldn’t remember the last time he had washed them.
Frankie sighed, glancing at the bag of coke sitting on his nightstand. He glanced away just as quickly, ashamed of himself.
It was only meant to be recreational, something to take the edge off after he got shot the second time. He needed something to escape the thoughts, the demons.
He had it all under control, until he didn’t.
The cravings increased ten fold once he got out. The nightmares had gotten worse, plaguing his sleep every night.
A therapist diagnosed him with PTSD and gave him some kind of medication for the anxiety and something for his sleep, but Frankie was impatient. He wasn’t willing to wait a few weeks for the medicine to work through his system, he needed relief now.
At first, it was a couple of lines a week, something to take the edge off and keep him awake so he wouldn’t have to face his demons.
He tried to quit a few times over the next few years, once even using vacation days at work to put himself in a treatment center. But he always went back, surrendering to the high.
Someone reported him at work. Who it was, he had no idea. He only did lines at home, never while on the clock. And yeah, maybe he was high a few times on a shift, but he never compromised any one’s safety.
They ran a drug test, and that was that. The FAA suspended him, took his pilot’s license, pending review.
He’d dug himself into a hole with no way out.
He no longer had a reason to leave the house, so he didn’t, unless he was meeting with his dealer. He stayed in bed most of the time, black out curtains closed. He barely ate, almost always takeout. He couldn’t remember the last time he went to the grocery store, or whether he’d taken a shower that week.
All he knew was the coke.
-
The air was heavy around him, the humidity making his clothes cling to him uncomfortably. The ground squished as he walked, the area muddy and slippery from a recent rainstorm.
Pope flanked his left side as they approached the target location. Three hostages, 15 hostiles. The Millers approached the building from the opposite side, taking out hostiles as they went.
Frankie’s rifle felt heavy in his hands, a tactical backpack weighing him down as he walked. Something felt wrong, he couldn’t shake it. He’d been here before. Panama, he thought.
Pope walked ahead of him, shooting enemy men as he went before smashing in the door between them and the hostages.
Frankie realized the problem then. Two of the hostages sat dead, tied to wooden chairs in the middle of the room. Single bullet sounds to the skull.
The third hostage sat in the middle of the room, crying as she was held by her hair. Frankie glanced quickly at the man holding her head, a gun pressed to the side of her cranium, before his eyes fell down to her face.
His stomach dropped. It was you. You were the third hostage.
He couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe. His finger moved to the trigger, gun pointed right at the man’s head.
You sobbed against the gag in your mouth, voice muffled but crying out for him. The man pulled against your hair again, pressing the gun further into your skin.
“Don’t,” Frankie warned. He hesitated with the trigger, afraid of what would happen to you if he took the shot from here.
“You hesitate too late,” the man muttered, pulling the trigger.
-
“NO!” Frankie shot up in bed, screaming your name. Tears streamed down his face, sweat covering every inch of his skin.
He pressed his palms into his eyes, body wracked with sobs. He had to call you, make sure you were okay.
Hands shaking, he reached for his phone and dialed your contact as quickly as it could. He hoped your ringer was on, though it was sometime in the middle of the night.
When you didn’t answer, Frankie pulled himself out of bed and into a pair of jeans before he ran out the door and drove the few miles to your apartment.
-
A continuous knock rang out, waking you from a deep slumber. Groaning, you sat up and took a look at the clock.
4:04 AM.
Who in the hell was knocking on your door at four am?
You slid out of bed, searching for your slippers in the dark. The floor was cold, making you shiver as you walked around your bedroom. When you couldn’t find them, you sighed, pulling on your robe to meet whoever was at the door.
But when you swung open the door, you weren’t expecting your best friend to be the cause of the noise. “Frankie?”
Frankie pushed past you, walking into your apartment while he muttered to himself. He looked like hell. Eyes bloodshot, dry blood crusted under his nose from a nosebleed, hair damp from sweat. He smelled disgusting, as if he hadn’t showered in days.
He walked around your apartment aimlessly, hands tugging at his hair. “Girasol, I love you.” He looked at you then, tired brown eyes peering at your own.
“I love you too, mi amor. What’s going on?” You took a step toward him, but he took a step back. You held your hands up in a quiet surrender, searching for answers on his face. “Frankie?”
“No, you don’t understand. I love you; I’m in love with you. We…we can go to Mexico right now, like I promised. We can get married, just like we talked about when we were kids.” He rambled on, spewing memories that only brought pain to you.
“Frankie, what are you doing here?”
He walked over to you and fell to his knees in front of your frame, hands gravitating to your hips. “Marry me.”
“Francisco, this isn’t funny. Get up,” you muttered, trying to pull him off the ground.
“Funny? I’m not jokin’ cariño. Please,” he begged, hands pulling away from your frame to dig through his pockets. “I’m sure I’ve got something-“
Frankie froze as a bag of white powder fell from his hands. The room stood still as the coke hit the floor of your living room, silencing him. Your eyes widened, the realization hitting you. The man in front of you was suffering far deeper than you could have imagined.
Within seconds, you sprang into action. You lowered yourself to the ground in front of him, holding his head gently in your hands. “Let’s get you in the shower, yeah?”
He nodded slightly and you grabbed his arm, tugging him up and then down the hall to your bathroom. You sat Frankie down on the toilet and reached to turn on the shower head so it could heat up while you worked.
You grabbed a towel from the hall closet before digging through your dresser for some of Frankie’s old clothes. He hadn’t worn the shirt or sweats in years, but you hoped they would still fit him.
When you returned to the bathroom, Frankie was still sitting on the toilet, staring silently at the wall in front of him. You sat everything down on the counter before making your way to stand in front of him.
You tugged his shirt off gently, whispering thank yous with every movement. You helped him stand, undoing his shoes and removing his socks before you moved to his pants.
“You’re going so great, Frankie. We’re almost there.”
He made a small noise of acknowledgment, holding onto your shoulders for balance as you helped remove his pants and boxers.
You’d seen him naked years ago, when things were simpler between you, but you averted your eyes as best you could to keep a semblance of privacy. Once finished, you helped him into the tub and under the warm water flowing from the shower head. Placing a washcloth into his hands, you pressed a light kiss to his cheek before pulling the curtain back.
“Call for me if you need help, okay?”
“Thank you,” Frankie mumbled, almost inaudible over the sound of the shower.
You quietly slipped out of the bathroom, closing the door gently behind you. You leaned against the wall next to the door, knees giving out as you slid to the ground. Your head fell into your hands as you crumbled, body shaking with sobs.

Review: The House Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock
3.5/10 - This could have been a zine. As it stands, I was not the target audience for this book.
Maybe I'm just being mean since I read this one directly after Queering Your Craft, but my goodness I don't think I was the target audience for this one. I am cis-adjacent girl-not-woman, single, living at home with my highly conservative christian parents, and keep my craft in the closet. This book is for a cis-woman who is probably married, runs a household, has a couple of children, and is the spiritual-head-of-household who teaches the kids to say their prayers to the abstract Divine every night before they turn on their essential oil humidifier for bedtime.
It sure would be lovely to live in the world that Arin does, where I could consult with the other family members about their particular Spiritual Beliefs (TM) and integrate those into an Altar in the kitchen where we all make our offerings and say our prayers to the household spirits, but that is not the world I live in. If I tried to start that conversation at home, I'd very quickly wind up with a very aggressive visit from the local pastor who spoke at a rally for 45. Thanks, Arin, but I'm... gonna skip the build-an-altar-in-your-kitchen-and-invite-your-family-to-participate step.
So here's the thing. (And I'm starting to notice that this is a pattern with a lot of the witch books I read...) I would probably have loved this book if it were more of a personal memoir than a How To Witch 101 guide. And I get the feeling that this was more of a problem with publishing than with the author. I mean I could practically feel Arin bursting at the book-seams to tell me about how she practices her witchcraft spirituality in her home, but instead she's stuck trying to write about Hearthcraft (TM) as if it's a universal thing, since that's what's easiest to sell. The whole book feels like it's formatted and marketed to be a Witchcraft 101 book, but it doesn't do it well at all. In fact, in the beginning of the book, Arin practically scolds the reader by saying 'this is a spiritual path, not a magic one, and if you want a magic one, go get a book about magic.' Like... Arin, honey, your book is called The House Witch. I thought I was reading a book about witchcraft.
Furthermore, it feels like this book is filled up with a whole lot of pillow fluff to fill in the gaps. Did we need a whole chapter of cauldron mythology that we never ended up tying into anything else in the book? Did we need that? It seems like there's a lot of stuff in this book that was just put in for a page count; something to make the book seem like it has the wide-appeal of a Witchcraft 101 book. But it just came across as... idk, not genuine.
I just keep coming back to how much I would have loved to hear about Arin's own personal practice that she's so clearly passionate about!
Hey, but also... this book was an organizational mess. Why was the cookie recipe in the chapter with the cauldron lore instead of in the recipe chapter? Why were the instructions on making a clay figure of a household spirit in the chapter with the imaginary altar instead of in with the chapter on household spirits, or the chapter on crafts? Why was there a section on ethics sandwiched in between a section about talking to a tree spirit and a section about talking to a blender spirit, instead of in with the cooking chapter when we actually referenced ethics?
-sigh-
Look, while there wasn't really anything in this book that made me go "Oh wow that's a great idea, I need to use that!" there were a few sections that made me say "Hey, that particular thing is not of use to me, but the idea behind it absolutely is, and I should look into that." Which, once again, comes back to how much I wish this book was a personal memoir. Finding the little nuggets of information that told me what Arin does and how and why were so much more useful than the vague-and-generic step-by-step instructions of... whatever the instructions were for.
BTW, I read through this whole book, and I still am not sure of the definition of "spiritual" nor of "hearth" that we were using. I never did figure out if "hearth" meant "fireplace" or "center of the home" or "kitchen" or what.
Ultimately I came out of the book more confused than I was going in. It's not the worst witch book I've read -- [waves to Skye Alexander] -- and I did get at least some things out of it that I can ponder on my own. But man... idk what that book was for. I'm tired. I'm going to bed.

looking at humidifier reviews is honestly an enlightening experience. who knew there were so many people in the world stuck believing that mold growing in standing water is some kind of design flaw on the part of the vessel.
#what exactly is a manufacturer supposed to do to prevent that i'd like to know!#any antifungals in the water make it unfit to be breathing in!#maybe if the reservoir was made of copper.....

TERESA MARGOLLES
Teresa Margolles’ exhibition, Muerte sin fin (2004) at Museum Für Moderne Kunst, uses the water used to wash human bodies in mortuaries in Mexico City as a material for her artworks. In a strange way like a necromancer, she takes this medium of anonymous fluid into forms that transcend the mortal plain. The bodies are of those who have died due to violence, drug use, unidentified bodies and traffic casualties, and their remains are part of a wider bureaucratic system that makes these people disappear from public consciousness.
The exhibition includes an installation of Margolles’ En el aire (2003) which features a main hall filled with bubbles made from this water mixed with soap. Referencing the Vanitas theme “homo bulla”, she commits the dead to flight, popping in the air as if they had never existed. Yet to pop on the audience’s clothes or skin is to make post life contact, being reconjured as glittering translucent spirits.
Another of her installation works is Aire (2003), similar to En el aire (2003) but where the water is put through a humidifier to fill the space with the particles of the deceased. Anyone entering the space is forced to become a part of the journey of these remains, breathing in the vapour of the anonymous dead, the living become the corporeal host and the remains become a body within a body.
In Margolles’ work, there is a constant questioning of the relationships between the living and the dead, memento mori and memento vivere. Viewers are reminded throughout that we are alive, and that death still touches us, that there is a post life but also a post death. The exhibition space becomes a place of mourning and grief for people otherwise unknown, a space of discomfort and unease, a place that is haunted by physical matter. I am interested in Margolles' work in regards to this working within the liminal states of physical death to relate to my ideas in my work and to feature in my Literary Review. These states of being where the individual themselves is deceased yet their remains linger in new forms of existence and purpose, essentially being placed within a physical state of flux, is a direct example of the liminality of death and death object. This relates to mourning jewellery, an object where their remains become an object that outlives their death and continues in the world of the living, and the works of Margolles follow the same state of liminality.

My Thoughts on How To Improve Traffic:
Video Traffic: If they are really reviewing the products, and they do have unique images which suggests they own the products, I think they could do more with video to drive traffic. Adding full video reviews of the products on Youtube and Tik Tok could be more revenue.
Social Traffic: Despite having a social media presence they have very little following and haven’t posted much social content – if this was something they focused on it could become a bigger traffic driver.
Build an Email List: Although sites built around specific product types can be difficult to build an email list there are options such as a lead magnet advising on the best ways to clear the air in your house or the best device for specific type of air issues.
My Thoughts on How To Improve Revenue:
Avoid Distracting The Reader: The top of some of their “best X” affiliate reviews have highlighted boxes that randomly link out to other websites (I believe in the thought that linking out to authority sites is a good signal to Google, which is true) but this is likely to send people away from the affiliate content and lose sales, so put those links at the bottom of the page or within the content.
Call To Action Buttons: There’s no buttons with call to actions in the “top 3” product review comparison tables on their affiliate content, just text links, big, colourful buttons, would generate more attention and clicks.
Showcase The Personal Experience: Though they seemingly have unique images of the products and even videos on Youtube showcasing the products their written reviews and affiliate content don’t really highlight that personal experience of using the product, it still reads like a very generic review written by someone who hasn’t actually used it (even though I believe they may have owned and used the products).
Don’t Display Prices: They are displaying prices directly in reviews and comparison affiliate posts which I would discourage because one big reason people will click your affiliate buttons is to check the price on the retailer.
Avoid Listing The Retailer: On their call to action buttons they often use terms like “Buy on Amazon” which although I’ve never tested it specifically I believe could cause a reduction in clicks because people may think “OK, I’ll check it on Amazon later” or open Amazon direcrly without clicking your links or buttons.
Biggest Takeaways To Apply To Your Own Site
Product Sites Still Work: Going all in one specific product type (in this case devices that clean the air of your house) and covering every piece of information, reviewing every product, and comparing all the different models can give you high topical authority and extremely high traffic (an estimated 100,000+ visitors p/m in this case).
Using the Products Builds Trust: If you can buy the products and take original photos and videos to add into your content then do it – this shows much more trust because people can see you have actually used them rather than regurgitating the Amazon listing information.
Always Use Call to Action BUTTONS: Never use text link call to actions but instead always use big, colourful, contrasting buttons people can’t miss.
Don’t Distract Your Visitor: Never put anything at the top of your pages that can take your visitor AWAY from the thing you want them to focus on otherwise you’ll lose their attention and lose clicks and sales.
Avoid Listing Prices: Avoid using product prices on your affiliate content (even when using Amazon’s API to display the current price) because it gives people one less incentive to click through to Amazon – many people will click to check the price.
Don’t Tell The Reader Where The Link Leads: Again, avoid mentioning “Amazon” on your call to action buttons (though remember you do need a clear disclaimer at the top of your pages / visible above the fold saying you’re an Amazon affiliate) as many people will open Amazon in a new tab or decide to just check it directly on Amazon later meaning they won’t click your affiliate link.
Build your Email List: It drives repeat traffic back to your site, makes people more likely to buy, and drives more sales plus it’s something Google cannot take away from you.

Do you know why, exactly, Amazon considers Alexa a "failure"?
The answer is: because it failed to make people order more useless shit from Amazon.
They literally wanted "Alexa, we ran out of toilet paper, buy more" instead of "Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights".
That and, I would like to congratulate the Smart Tech bros on coming up with ridiculously counterproductive angle they used for their advertising, that - well, go fucking figure, boys - alienated people living not only in 200-year-old cottages, but 50-year-old apartment buildings as well.
They wanted to paint an image of Star Trek slash Everything Is An Ipod In The Future, putting the tech in squeaky clean modern houses and pretending it's ridiculously expensive and works on the Gotta Catch Them All principle. While it's very much Not Like That.
From my experience:
I have three smart plugs and one smart bulb in the house. All for lighting.
I use Google Assistant/Google Home to control them from my phone and watch.
I often operate the smart plug in the kitchen with the button on its casing as well.
The smart bulb, since it's placed in a photo light fixture between my desk and bed, is also programmed to turn on along with my workday morning alarm during autumn and winter, and you have no idea how fucking helpful that is.
Google Assistant never turns on unrequested, despite me not monkeying with its settings at all.
I have a humidifier that's also supposed to have smart device features, but since it's a cheap piece of PRC-made junk, I haven't managed to turn them on. Reviews online say the smart device features on it are ridiculously basic, though, making the entire thing extremely Not Worth The Hassle (not to mention the typical bullshit you should expect from PRC-made software).
Meanwhile, rest of the tech in my apartment is fairly basic because it doesn't need to be smart.

Vocal Nodules Treatment Hospital in Thrissur
Vocal nodules are one of the most common causes of hoarseness and voice strain, particularly among individuals who use their voices extensively for professional or personal reasons. At Karthiayani Hospital, the premier vocal nodules treatment hospital in Thrissur, we specialize in diagnosing and treating vocal cord disorders to help patients regain their voice quality and overall vocal health.
What Are Vocal Nodules?
Vocal nodules, sometimes called "singer’s nodules" or "teacher’s nodules," are benign growths on the vocal cords caused by continuous vocal strain. These small, symmetrical swellings develop due to excessive voice use, improper vocal techniques, or other underlying health conditions. They can lead to:
Hoarseness and a breathy voice
Vocal fatigue
A sensation of throat tightness
Difficulty projecting the voice
Persistent voice changes
People most at risk include singers, teachers, public speakers, call center employees, and those who frequently engage in loud talking or yelling.
Causes of Vocal Nodules
The primary cause of vocal nodules is repeated vocal strain and misuse. Some common factors that contribute to their development include:
Excessive Talking or Singing: Overusing the voice without proper rest.
Poor Vocal Techniques: Incorrect breathing and vocal support.
Environmental Irritants: Exposure to smoke, dry air, or allergens.
Frequent Throat Clearing or Coughing: Leading to vocal cord trauma.
Acid Reflux (GERD): Stomach acids irritating the vocal cords.
Smoking and Alcohol Consumption: Both contribute to irritation and inflammation.
Diagnosis at Karthiayani Hospital
As the leading vocal nodules treatment hospital in Thrissur, Karthiayani Hospital offers advanced diagnostic services to assess and confirm the presence of vocal nodules. Our diagnostic process includes:
1. Initial Consultation
Patients undergo a thorough evaluation, including a review of their medical history, vocal habits, and lifestyle factors contributing to voice issues.
2. Laryngoscopy
A laryngoscope is used to examine the vocal cords for swelling, nodules, or other abnormalities. This non-invasive procedure provides a clear view of the affected area.
3. Stroboscopy
This advanced technique allows specialists to analyze vocal cord vibrations in real-time, helping to determine the extent of the nodules and their impact on voice production.
4. Voice Evaluation
A comprehensive voice assessment conducted by our speech and voice therapists helps determine the severity of vocal dysfunction.
Vocal Nodules Treatment at Karthiayani Hospital
Karthiayani Hospital provides a multidisciplinary approach to treating vocal nodules, including non-surgical and surgical interventions based on the patient’s needs.
1. Voice Therapy
Voice therapy is the first-line treatment for vocal nodules and is highly effective in reversing the condition without surgery. Our specialized speech therapists focus on:
Correcting Vocal Techniques to reduce strain
Breath Control Exercises for better voice projection
Resonance Training to improve voice clarity
Education on Vocal Hygiene to prevent future damage
2. Lifestyle Modifications
To support voice therapy, we recommend specific lifestyle changes, including:
Adequate Voice Rest: Reducing excessive speaking and singing.
Hydration: Drinking enough water to keep the vocal cords lubricated.
Avoiding Irritants: Eliminating smoking, alcohol, and allergens.
Humidifier Use: Maintaining moisture in dry environments.
3. Medications
For cases with inflammation or associated conditions like acid reflux, medications such as corticosteroids, anti-inflammatories, and antacids may be prescribed.
4. Surgical Treatment (Microlaryngoscopy)
In rare cases where vocal nodules do not improve with therapy, microlaryngoscopy is performed to remove them. This minimally invasive surgery involves a small incision to eliminate the nodules without damaging vocal function. The procedure is safe, with a quick recovery time.
Post-Treatment Care and Recovery
After treatment, patients must follow specific guidelines to ensure complete recovery and prevent recurrence:
Continue voice therapy to reinforce correct vocal techniques.
Avoid excessive speaking, shouting, or singing during recovery.
Regular follow-ups with our ENT specialists to monitor progress.
