if i estimated correctly, i have over 350 posts with at least one drawing each on this tumblr account. which gave me a heart attack tbh, that's so many haha. there's some more my art floating around the internet elsewhere like on the terrebus account.

What fandoms do you draw for?

the main one currently is supernatural, before that it was the terror and before that it was football (the soccer kind) rpf. but i still do all of 'em! there are some others i play with like sherlock holmes, fdtd or mtw.

i usually do when it feels like something directed at me, like asks/dms or replies on twitter and tumblr. not so much when it's tags on tumblr or qrts on twitter - those feel more like the other person is talking into the void and not to me directly lol

What is a piece of art you drew with the angstiest ending?

hard to define 'ending' in the context of art - it supposes a sort of narrative structure not every of my drawings has. maybe this one. because, in the words of the rolling stones, you can't always get what you want.

What's the piece of art you drew with the happiest ending?

i guess this defines happy ending but i also had to think of this one, just because i can hallucinate the story that it took for them to get to that cocktail sippin' ending.

Do you get hate on art?

yes, sometimes lol i've had people fighting wars in my twitter replies when i posted cas/jack art. wah wah wah he's his dad. wah wah wah they're brothers. wah wah wah kill yourself. ridiculous and irrelevant. i do still think fondly of some replies i get though, like the one that was in russian and said 'such a talent and only for the sake of lust... sad.'

yeah, but it's one of the things i want to get better at.

not really. i want to draw an spn/fdtd crossover but that's not super crazy

yes, having one person do the lineart and one do the colouring. it's a fun exercise to make you consciously realise your own art processes

What's your all-time favorite ship?

wincest is up there, of course. holmes/watson is simply a staple. humboldt/bonpland because mtw shaped me in my adolescence. i don't like to define THEEE favourite though because there's different ships for different flavours and that's great.

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

does it count as a wip if i haven't even started creating it lmao! if yes - a longer story s4 sam/dean dean/cas piece set to dessa's 551. if that sounds insane, it's because it is.

What are your drawing strengths?

i think depicting connection between two characters and portraying a sense of want/love/doubt even through a distance between them.

What are your drawing weaknesses?

stiff poses and inability to draw without reference. also backgrounds and feet :(

probably this one. it just... worked out, from idea to product, and it feels smooth and it makes me happy :)

Splatoon oc shiz again~

Just putting it out here, all of my OCs are off different sub species of inklings/octolings inspired by real species!

Gyaru and Ane

The sisters are of a firefly squid x spear squid mix. They do in fact have glow marks only visible at night as well as having more pointy longer and narrower ears than a normal inkling would.

Their squid form looks normal…except the fact that their mantles are elongated making them look larger and narrower than standard.

Juuni

He’s an albino california two-spot octopus. While it is visible that he’s albino with his eye mask being white due to lack of melanin, the two spots are located on his upper back as tattoos shaped like eyes.

His octopus form is also pretty normal, only thing that’s different is that he’s pretty much white and the spots are visible on each side of his head.

Tag

He’s a coconut octopus. His tentacles are relatively curly, even his sideburns are curled up. Though he’s currently rocking the dreadlocks so you don’t get to see his curly tentacles in full glory :(

BUT, his octopus form does show his curly tentacles in full glory so that’s a plus!

Natsu

He’s a blue-ringed octopus. The tip of his tentacles have a slight blu-ish tint to it, along with a more blu-ish tint on the rings/spots on the tentacles.

However when aggressive, Natsu’s tentacles take on a more bright and vibrant blue, his iris will take be visible from a white/transparent to a blue-to-yellow gradient.

His fingertips will also have a blue gradient to it with faint blue veins running through his arms and neck. Not to worry though, Natsu’s relatively docile even though his ass is supposed to eat his damn mandatory suppressing medication that neutralises his venom in his saliva and weakening his muscles and aggressive thoughts

(A HC of mine where species of a venomous and/or aggressive nature are given mandatory suppressants to protect the rest of the citizens of the Splatoon world)

Natsu’s octopus form would just be the standard octo aquatic form but with blue tints to his tentacles and rings.

(WOW THAT IS A LOT OF THE WORD “BLUE” )

Ryōmen and his brothers

Ever wonder why the Yakumans are so fucking huge when you saw the height chart on my other posts? Well here’s your answer: they’re Humbolt squids.

Other than the massive size, they have razor sharp teeth as well as small tiny teeth inside of their suction cups.

Like Natsu, they were supposed to eat medication but them running a family-owned gang and them curating a hidden black market where other Inkopolis citizens can eat…y’know—“premium” fish/squid/octopus meat means that the brothers clearly did not even touch even one pill.

As humbolts, they do in fact eat those “premium” meat and even occasionally meat of other humboldt inklings, in order to maintain their body strength.

(HC part 2, difference between the suppressants venomous species eat vs the ones aggressive/strong species eat is: VS suppressants mainly neutralise the venom mostly and AS suppressants are drowsy and weaken the muscles greatly.)

Their squid form is your standard squid form but WAY bigger, but smaller than kraken size and their suction cups still have those teeth.

Enperry and Emin

They’re both completely the same as Gyaru & Ane.

And if you guys haven’t noticed it yet, the Maguro sisters are in fact the same people as the Kumonryu brothers. They’re just crossdressing as male idols to hide their identity for safety purposes.

Backstory: Born and raised in Chicago, Jacob 'Jake' Blumenthal moved to New York at 18 to start his studies at Columbia University, attending every class at least once, many that he didn't sign up for. He quickly befriended Raymond Stantz and tried to keep in touch all throughout his time at Columbia, even joining C.U.P.S after Doctor Stantz recommended it.

Trees by JOSHUA YELDHAM, (b 1970, Sydney, Australia) 

The Yeldhams are one of Sydney’s notable families, but Joshua’s journal reveals that his privileged background was both a blessing and a curse. Suffering from dyslexia he had a terrible time as a boarder at Cranbrook, where he played the clown to compensate for his academic shortcomings, and to avoid being bullied. His next move, however, was to Switzerland, where he received a more cosmopolitan education and developed a taste for mountain climbing.From there Yeldham went on to the Rhode Island School of Design, where he became interested in filmmaking. His major student foray into the medium took him eleven times to the remote region of Mt. Humboldt in the Venezuelan Andes. The movie that resulted, Frailejón, would win an Emmy and an Oscar nomination for best student film in the United States for 1993. That hour-long movie is rarely seen today, but it is screening in the first room of this survey.For a young man of 23 such early plaudits might have been the launching pad for a career as a successful director, but when Yeldham was given $5,000 to develop the script of a second film, he used the money to buy a yellow Kombi and headed for the desert. 

He seems to have had the same kind of experience as Robyn Davidson, but without camels. In brief: one goes to the desert to get lost and find oneself in the process. According to Yeldham’s journal this is roughly what happened, although when he tried to turn his experiences into a script it was rejected as too ethereal and not even faintly commercial. Perhaps he should have persevered – it took 40 years for Tracks to make it to the screen.

Returning to Sydney Yeldham gave up on the film world to pursue his burgeoning interest in the visual arts. He moved to the Hawkesbury with his partner, Jo, and began the love affair with Nature that has produced most of the work in this exhibition. This period has also produced two children, who have taken their places in the Yeldham vision of life, love, art and the universe. His journal, and perhaps the exhibition itself, is presented as an extended communication with his first child, Indigo.

The book and the art have such a private feel it seems strange to be writing about them as public artefacts. If this were a Hollywood movie, Indigo would find a dust-covered volume in the old family home after her parents had departed this world. She would begin to read, and the sound of her father’s voice would arise in her mind and the viewer’s ears. Soon we’d be in the midst of a lengthy flashback, as dad’s autobiography was replayed in glorious colour, interspersed with touches of homespun philosophy.

Putting it this way I can see why Yeldham chose the visual arts over cinema, although he has never totally abandoned the medium, as revealed by the very accomplished short film that concludes this show. The journal acts as an intimate, unconventional exhibition catalogue, full of notes, poems, sketches, memorabilia, artworks and snapshots.

Most of the work in this survey was completed on the Hawkesbury, including paintings, sculptures, drawings and engraved photographs. The latter are among Yeldham’s most innovative pieces. He prints a photo on a large slab of homemade paper, then carves back into it with a belt sander, which he uses with the delicacy of a fine etching tool. Trees grow patterns that resemble indigenous inscriptions on burial poles. Webs and pinpricks of white light cluster and sparkle amid the grey tones. Even his children get the treatment, being given white tattoos that cover half their bodies. Perhaps this is good parental psychology: they may be less tempted to get real ones when they’re old enough.
