I don’t know if this is weird to say but you’re an inspiration for my creativity!

I haven’t been able to make anything for a while but I have stories I want to tell and seeing you just lore and inspo dump for your story makes me want to do the same!

Is it okay to follow your lead?

The story is my own but like I can’t get myself to take even the first step out of like my comfort zone.

Can I mimic what your doing in the sense that like of your posting about different wings oh let me post about my characters tail or just something of the same vein.

Following someone else’s footsteps is a lot easier then making my own right now lol

But if not that’s okay still want to let you know really like your story can’t wait to see more of it!

Sharing my characters/lore/story is not something that anyone owns- so of course you should go for it! Genuinely- once you just start spouting about your characters and stuff that makes you happy, without caring about if people interact or not, you'll attract the right people. The important part is not getting bummed when it takes a while for those people to find you. Be patient! And go be self-indulgent <3

The only thing to keep in mind is not to copy anyone's methods TOO closely- to the point where the two of you would be mistaken. I have a friend currently dealing with a copy-cat that's been hounding her for 2 years and it's really disheartening to have people mistake someone else for you. So just make sure that while you use someone for a spring-board, make sure you don't copy their methods too closely! It's best to take inspiration from multiple sources so you become a unique mixture of different sources.~

hello buckwheat hopping into your asks to tell you how much i love your inktober art . i love your traditional coloring (the blue shadows, the lighting, the insane backgrounds) and the concepts (the birth of mairon art: i mf gasped) and the anatomy is sooooooo good ...... you are a huge inspo . also can i ask u what materials u use bcs i love the look and texture of the pieces 🤲

Hiiiiiiii aaaaa thank you so much 😭😭😭😭 it means a lot because as much as my background is in traditional art, I would rarely create full illustrations this way and tbh I didn't know how to make them look effective. this inktober is me forcing myself to really practise and create finished pieces in their own right within my sketchbook and like. Stop running away from anatomy and perspective lmao. I'm glad to know that ppl enjoy the results!!

I should take some photos of my materials, but essentially the whole turquoise theme begun almost by accident as i decided to finally use That Sample of a Sennelier Ink Brush Pen I've Had For Ages And Never Used Because It Was Green-ish. And it turned out to be the perfect shade for uhm.. constructing a piece in layers of plain colours as if i was doing screen printing or woodblock (I'm not sure if any of my rambling makes sense xhxhxh).

So for the turquoise palette pieces it's a processed of outlining the sketch + filling in all the dark areas with The Brush Pen, the rest being coloured in with alcohol based markers (red going on top of turquoise gives a nice shadow),,, i used gouache/white ink in some pieces for touch ups & Fuckup Coverage,, black lines go last where I think I need them.

I hope this makes any sense and can be helpful in any way, the whole thing is a bit of a string of happy accidents i feel i have zero control over gjcuffufufuf

god YES i follow so many but they're all on instagram fnsdjg and tbh a lot of them are multifandom and no longer focus on aot specifically but...

sonagee_ -> i fucking love the way they draw people in general but especially levi and erwin. ive fallen in love with all their eruri pieces especially the college au ones

solarfry -> they capture levi and erwin so well omg. they have a tumblr too and im subbed on their patreon and just the way they draw intimacy and anatomy is so..pheeeew its very nice :')

I don't know if I've told you this before, but I just want to make sure you know that you're a huge inspiration for me, and I love all your drawings and your style and how you portray all the characters you draw. Thank you so much for this comment ;; I'm always really happy to hear that people like my portrayals of their faves (or just anyone in general). I try really hard to keep things at least vaguely in the realm of IC though I'm bound to tip out of that (especially for ship content cause almost everything i love is noncanon, lmao) so I'm glad my lean-aways are fun for some people!

And for my OCs-- I'm shy with sharing publicly but I always love when I'm told people like them sldkjfe so uhh this is Romy! She's scared of almost everything but determined to get better and make up for a past mistake her cowardly nature caused (in her mind. really, it was inevitable). She's a street performer that specializes in juggling, and later uses this skill to fight with her friends against the dark.
