A: I love to be curious and live an experimental life. We are living in an unprecedented time where companies can be created faster and cheaper than ever and we think we have a formula for building businesses with less time, less capital and ultimately less risk. More than anything, I love what I do because I get to work on innovative ideas and build great things with great people. Q: How has the closest person in your life inspired you and your business? A:My brother Carter also happens to be my partner so he inspires me daily. It’s a special thing to be able to work with family especially your brother who has always been your best friend and when you have your brother and your peers to look up to you get to share and learn new things with each other. Q: When business has got you down, how do you stay positive? A: Realizing that I am fortunate to be able to pursue any opportunity in almost any industry I want so... if I don’t like it, I can always change the conversation (as they say). Freedom in business is being able to do whatever you want to do and however you want to do it, and we’re lucky we now have M13 to help accelerate businesses. Q: How do you keep yourself and your employees open to new ideas? A: I think openness comes down to humility. Humility is about being willing to learn from anything and anyone and I learned that from my dad. But it’s not just about humility, it’s also about hustling and staying hungry because that’s what keeps everyone not just open but motivated to do something with the ideas. In terms of our employees, I try to be the best version of myself and believe when we each do that, people follow suit. That’s our goal with M13, to be the best in class and in different functions.
