Good Afternoon! Apologies for the bad photo, but at least I ate in the dhall this time!

For some reason, Friday lunch is always mid. I'm not sure why, but for some reason it feels like the menu just gets sad at Fri lunch specifically. Maybe it's because I remember how good the Engineering Friday Lunches were? Sigh...

I saw a HUDS worker do this so I stole the idea from them: Using the grilled chicken from the hot dish bar, you can then make a sandwich with it! I added pickles, tomato, lettuce, and mixed a sauce of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Honestly, it wasn't that bad! I felt pretty proud of what I had made; normally i just do a ham and cheese and call it a day.

For veggies, I decided to be brave and try the asparagus and swiss chard. It reminded me of the vegetables my mom would cook growing up: healthy, soggy, and improperly seasoned. (I love you mom, but man do I not like the way you cook kale.) As far as vegetables go, not the best, but definitely not the worst.

Here's to hoping dinner will be more exciting.

Good evening! I snagged dinner to-go again today; I swear I don't always do this! Anyways, I thought I'd try sampling a wider array of foods this time.

Let's start off with what was good: THE GRITS. Holy jesus christ these things were good. Oh my god. I want to go get another takeout container just full of grits. I want to kiss a dining hall worker on the mouth. A+++

The Buffalo Chicken Seitan Mac and Cheese is probably delicious, if you like buffalo chicken. I found it too spicy for my taste, but the mac and cheese in general was very creamy and tasted good!

Green Beans are always hit or miss: HUDS either nails it or over/undercooks them. This was a very good day for the Green Bean Enjoyer Community (me).

The rice was alright, it's got some spices but it still feels under-seasoned to me. Either add some salt or eat it with another food, such as...the pork! Not the best I've had, but it was definitely jucier than HUDS pork usually is. The sweet cherry topping or reduction or whatever it is goes nicely with it, so make sure you get some. Lastly the kale: I don't usually get HUDS kale but I tried it today and y'know what! Not too bad.

Anyways, final verdict is definitely make sure you get the grits next time you see them. If you disagree with any of these takes, please tell me about it! Come argue in my inbox or the replies; I'm open to discussion.
