A new idea I had the other day was to start taking photos of bookstores and libraries that I visit. Both have always represented places of peace and happiness for me, and even as an adult one of my favorite things to do is aimlessly wander for hours on end just perusing the books.
To kick this project off here are some quick snaps of my local bookstore, along with a few purchases.

Someday, I'll be able to walk into a bookstore and only buy one thing. Not today, obviously, but someday.
Quick snaps on my lovely Athena and Aphrodite statues. Athena sits atop a bookshelf guarding my library while Aphrodite enjoys sunshine on the window ledge.
I recently finished ready Sarah Perry's "Melmoth." It's awfully hard to follow Miller's "Circe" and "Song of Achilles", but I did enjoy Perry's unique and often chilling story. Strongly recommend, especially for a cold winter evening. The night I finished it I had surreal dreams of Melmoth. Needless to say, I'm not certain I want to know what that means.

While I was checking out at the bookstore today, I wound up chatting with the store's lovely and sweet cashier; I was laughing about how I never stay within my budget when I buy books. In response to this, she smiled and said: "Books are the one thing I never feel bad about splurging on." It was a simple statement, but it made me feel so happy and only adds to my list of reasons why I love libraries and bookstores.
