HEART OF HAWAII
WHICH ISLAND WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
Hello Travelers!
The American writer Henry Miller famously said, "One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." Doesn't that quote capture Hawaii perfectly? The Aloha Spirit, literally meaning, "the presence of breath," is the philosophy of living with love, compassion and grace for others. This makes Hawaii the perfect environment to create meaningful memories with friends and family... no matter which (if not all) of her picture perfect islands you choose to experience. With that said, if you have Hawaii in mind for the winter holidays, now is time to be thinking about reserving your space for festive travel. Please get in touch soon, as availability is quickly becoming extremely limited for many popular warm-weather destinations.
OAHU: SNORKELING AT HANAUMA BAY
THE KAHALA HOTEL & RESORT
If you want to get acquainted with hundreds of tropical fish and marine life, no matter your snorkeling level, take a 20-minute transfer from The Kahala Hotel & Resort to the famous Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. “Hana" is the Hawaiian word for "Bay" and "Uma" refers to the curves of the indigenous canoes. The bay was declared a protected marine life conservation area and underwater park in 1967. It remained one of the premier destinations in Oahu, featuring majestic green sea turtles, vibrant parrotfish, and more. When you return to the resort, continue getting up close and personal with sea life at their private dolphin lagoon.
KAUAI: A HAWAII & SOUTH PACIFIC CRUISE
CRYSTAL CRUISES
Wrapped in magnificent beaches, draped in lush rainforest and kissed by translucent waters, the gem-like islands of Hawaii and the South Pacific have long been the treasured muses of great artists, captivating all with their serene natural beauty. On this journey of locales, you’ll pause in Kauai, better known by its well-deserved nickname, the "Garden Isle." Fewer people live here than on the larger neighboring islands, but Hawaiian residents and out-of-state visitors alike are attracted to its acclaimed beaches, rugged emerald-colored cliffs, cascading waterfalls and magnificent sandy shores. Secluded coves are found all along the island's irregular coastline and a luxuriant rainforest flourishes on the "wet" side of the island, Kauai being one of the wettest spots on earth.
LANAI & BEYOND: ISLAND HOPPING IN FIVE STAR LUXURY
FOUR SEASONS RESORTS HAWAII
Island hopping has never been more of a necessity when you have the opportunity to experience four distinctly unforgettable island settings with unparalleled Four Seasons luxury, cuisine and service. Furthest north, the authentic yet contemporary Oahu property is nestled in the upscale vacation community of Ko Olina, known for its gorgeous sunsets and lagoons. In Lanai, explore the rugged terrain of this unspoiled island on horseback or ATV before Maui takes you in with her lush tropical landscapes and prime views for epic whale watching. And lastly, the beautiful Hualalai property is a natural sanctuary set on the exclusive Kona-Kohala coast of The Big Island.
THE BIG ISLAND: LAVA & RAINBOW FALLS EXCURSION SHORETRIPS
If you love nature, history and drama, this 5 1/2 hour tour might be a perfect add-on for your Hawaiian adventure. Located in Hilo, Hawaii, Rainbow Falls (known in the Hawaiian language as “rainbow water”) is an 80 ft tall masterpiece where the Wailuku River rushes down into a large pool below. On sunny mornings, this natural phenomenon projects rainbows as it flows over a natural lava cave. From here, you will head down the older back roads of Hawaii through mango groves before arriving at the lava flow that caused an evacuation of the town of Pahoa in 2018. Although at first glance it can look slow moving and harmless, lava can be incredibly hard to contain. At Kaimu, you will have the chance to walk on old lava flows that covered what was once a small beach town with beautiful black sand beaches. Lastly, in one of the most unique spots on the island, you’ll see where lava once burst out of fissures onto Ohia trees, leaving fascinating lava molds.

Discovering Hawaii: 5 Family-Friendly All-Inclusive Resorts You Must Visit
Tumblr media
Let's be honest: when you think about a family vacation, the enchanting shores of Hawaii are hard to beat. I mean, sun-kissed beaches, mouth-watering food, and the adventures. Sounds great, right?
If you're up for the real deal, diving into the best all inclusive hotels in Hawaii can make your dream vacay an absolute breeze. Ready for the insider's scoop? Then, let’s take a look at five of the best options for your family vacation in Hawaii.
1. Four Seasons Resort Hualalai: Where Luxe Meets Local
Just saying the name "Four Seasons Resort Hualalai" feels like an escape, doesn't it? Perched gracefully on the Kona-Kohala coast, this resort seamlessly blends the warmth of Hawaiian aloha with world-class luxury.
For the golf enthusiasts in the family, the award-winning golf course will be your sanctuary, offering views that might just mess with your concentration. For the kiddos (and honestly, adults too), you’ve got a choice of seven pools. Each of them promises a unique experience, so whether you want a serene dip or some splashy fun, there’s a spot for you.
As for food, prepare for a culinary journey. Remember, over 75% of the food served here is sourced straight from Hawaii Island. So every bite feels like a true Hawaiian embrace. And when the day winds down, retreat to your cozy room in an intimate two-story bungalow. Can you hear the waves already?
2. Turtle Bay Resort: North Shore's Finest
If you've heard tales of O‘ahu's North Shore, they probably didn't do justice to what Turtle Bay Resort brings to the table. Spread over nearly 1,300 acres, this resort is a slice of untouched paradise with historic vibes.
Mornings here could start with a calming walk on five miles of pristine coastline or perhaps with a family hike on one of the twelve miles of trails that promise breathtaking views. Given its expansive space, there’s always a private spot waiting, whether you’re a sunrise enthusiast or a sunset chaser.
Once you’ve soaked in the natural beauty, the resort pulls you back with promises of holistic dining, drawing inspiration from native culinary traditions. And if you're itching for some off-site adventures, Turtle Bay’s location is unbeatable. From the ancient stories of Waimea Valley to the iconic surf breaks that have shaped legends, you're in the heart of it all.
3. Aston Kaanapali Shores: Your Home Away from Home
Beachfront beauty is one thing, but Aston Kaanapali Shores takes it up a notch. Nestled on the golden sands of Kaanapali Beach, this resort is a confluence of comfort and Hawaiian charm.
Every suite feels like a home, and they all include complete kitchens. So if you ever fancy whipping up a quick family breakfast or a midnight snack, you're all set. And for those who prefer being pampered, the in-resort dining, especially at The Beach Club Restaurant, promises island flavors that’ll dance on your taste buds.
But what truly sets this place apart is its cultural heartbeat. Throughout the week, the resort is alive with traditional activities. From hula lessons that’ll get your hips swaying to ukulele tunes that’ll have you humming along, there’s a slice of Hawaii waiting to be discovered. And if you're in the mood for some retail therapy, their Thursday Craft Fair is a treasure trove of local crafts and keepsakes.
4. The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue: A Royal Hawaiian Retreat
Step into a world where luxury intertwines with the genuine spirit of the Garden Isle. The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue is a sight to behold, with Kalapaki Beach as its picturesque backdrop. If the name alone doesn't give you a hint of the majestic experience ahead, the resort itself surely will.
Fresh from a whopping $50 million upgrade, every nook and corner of this place radiates charm and sophistication. Each guestroom and suite has been meticulously revamped to offer guests a stay that's nothing short of royal. Imagine waking up to the gentle sound of waves and the sight of the golden sun rising over Kalapaki Bay. Sounds dreamy, right?
Beyond the confines of your room, adventure awaits. Whether you're teeing off at the adjacent Jack Nicklaus championship golf course or unwinding with a sumptuous spa treatment, every moment here feels like a celebration. And oh, for the foodies, the on-site restaurants promise a culinary journey that’s as enchanting as Kauai itself.
5. Hilton Waikoloa Village: Dive into Island Grandeur
Ever dreamt of a place where vastness meets vibrancy? That's Hilton Waikoloa Village for you. One of the world's largest and most splendid resorts, it's a veritable playground of Hawaiian wonders. Nestled amidst a beautiful expanse that includes lagoons, pools, water slides, and more, this is where "larger than life" meets the "aloha spirit".
The guest rooms here are more than just accommodations: they’re a promise of restful nights with dreams filled with Hawaiian lore. As you wander around the resort, you're bound to stumble upon a plethora of restaurants and bars, each offering unique flavors and vibes. From tropical cocktails to hearty Hawaiian meals, your taste buds are in for a treat.
And if the resort's internal charm wasn't enough, its location amplifies its allure. With every sunrise and sunset, the surrounding landscapes narrate tales as old as time, reminding you that while the resort might be a man-made marvel, it's nature that truly holds the magic wand.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is a dream that just got dreamier
The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is a dream that just got dreamier
By: Josh Sens January 14, 2023 Pick your launching pad on Nicklaus’ volcanic par-3 17th. From the tips, it’s a 164-yard blast. Evan Schiller Hale means “house” in Hawaiian, but it implies more than a roof over your head. The word (pronounced hah-lay) carries a deeper sense of island welcome, with the promise of warm greetings and generous offerings of food and drink. What it doesn’t guarantee…

A Romantic Getaway at Holualoa Inn, Hawaii
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Set on the slopes of the Kona Coffee Belt, the inn offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Holualoa Inn is the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hawaii is the ideal place to experience my first Bed & Breakfast. When most people think of Hawaii, they picture sandy beaches, palm trees, and clear blue waters. While these are certainly some of the most popular attractions that the islands have to offer, there is much more to see and do.
Holualoa Inn is a hidden gem for those who want to avoid the mainstream resorts and have an amazing time in Hawaii. The service here will make you feel like royalty, with every detail thought-out by its staff members so that they can provide residents feeling at home. Homages to Hawaiian culture are prevalent in the artwork throughout the property.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perched at 1,400 feet on the cool slopes of Mt. Hualalai, Holualoa Inn takes advantage of natural ventilation and cooling. The accommodations at the Holualoa Inn are both comfortable and stylish. The Inn offers a variety of amenities to make your stay special, including a private lanai, a whirlpool tub, and an outdoor pool. The most impressive feature of this 30-acre property boasting 5,300 Kona coffee trees, is the Sculpture Art Garden.
The Sculpture Art Garden is an immersive and interactive experience for guests to explore, reflect, and relax. As you wander through the lush greenery of Holualoa Inn, you can admire the silhouettes of specially-commissioned sculptures meant to inspire peaceful meditation and thoughtful transformation.
Breakfast

Upon arrival, we were served fresh juice made from lilikoi (passion fruit) grown in their garden. While you can expect fresh fruit every morning, the breakfast entree is always a surprise. The ingredients are either grown on the property or traded with their neighbor's farms. I was especially delighted by the baked goods every day at 4 pm.
Gardenia Suite
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We stayed in the Gardenia Suite, which is 1 of nine rooms available at Holuloa Inn. The Gardenia Suite features a sitting room with ocean views, a bedroom with garden views, a private lanai, and a spacious bathroom.

One of the best ways to experience all that Hawaii has to offer is to stay at a bed & breakfast. These intimate lodgings provide visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the islands and meet the friendly locals. Many bed & breakfasts are located in historic buildings with fascinating stories, and they often feature Hawaiian-themed decor and furnishings. No trip to Hawaii would be complete without experiencing the famous hospitality of the local people.
PS- Holualoa Inn is also a wedding venue!
