Pre-med Results

It has obviously been a hot minute since A level results have been out. However, I thought writing in general about my O level results, A level results and other exam results would be the best way to start this little blog of mine. I will also take this opportunity to introduce myself a little.

During o levels, i wasn't exactly hard working. I had gotten burnt at some point during grade 8 and a personal experience in graded 9 pushed me further away from my studies. I do intend to go into those details some time in the future. For now, I will stick to my study methods and the results this gave me. Despite my lack of interest in studies during this time, I always paid attention in class. I was that girl who would maintain eye contact with the teacher, mostly because it helped me stay present. I did not have many friends and that definitely aided me in staying focused. I did have a few crushes on boys but this did not really affect my studies as I did not talk to them. I might go into more detail about this later. The memories are pretty funny when I look back. Anyways, luckily I did not do too bad on my exams. I got A*s in Chemistry, Biology, Math, Computer Science, English and Physics IGCSEs. I got As in Dhivehi and Islam SSCs.

My grades during O Levels were not perfect. I had not reached my goals. I had thought that that was to be expected as I had not tried as hard as other people my age, and promised myself to try harder in the following years.

My A levels started off to a good start. I was implementing methods which worked for me as well as avoiding methods I had tried and found not to work. In hindsight, some of my goals were pretty unrealistic and I believe that played a key role in my diminishing motivation and discipline. However, I remember feeling embarrassed when people would see me working hard and studying. Other people did not seem to be working as hard and this made me feel insecure. Gradually, I stopped studying completely and lost track of all my assignments. Talk about peer pressure huh. This also happened to be a point in time where I was dealing with a huge identity crisis and this only added to my stress. In the end, I got pretty good grades, but far from what I had hoped for. I got As in Chemistry and Biology A levels and a B in Math A level. I also got 2 As in Dhivehi and Islam HSCs. This was really unfortunate for me as in my country those who got all As received a full government scholarship to study in quite literally wherever they chose. Regardless, the B in math was deserved, I would say, as I had been a careless student.

After many tears, I decided not to dwell too much on the past. My parents and I went to a higher education fair where we spoke to a few medical schools in Malaysia. Namely, NUMed, Cyberjaya and MSU. I ended up really loving NUMed and MSU was a close 2nd. I was advised by all of them to take the IELTS and so I did, and recently received my results. I got an overall 8.0. (Listening: 8.5, Reading: 8.5, Writing: 7.0, and speaking 8.5)

Bless me with motivation (please)

I don’t know about anyone else, but finding motivation for anything is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I’ll blame that on my executive dysfunction.

If you don’t know what executive dysfunction is, here’s Google’s definition: “Executive Dysfunction is a brain-based impairment that impacts a person's ability to analyze, organize, decide, and execute things on time. It causes assignments to be lost, deadlines to be missed, and projects to overwhelm”

Yeah, it’s a load of fun.

Imagine procrastination, and make it x100.

Throughout my whole school life, this had been a major issue for me. (lucky me finished my final HSC exam a few weeks ago, no more school for me)

Think of people with Executive Dysfunction as the rulers of procrastination - the Kings and Queens of failed time management.

Take right now for example. I’m sitting in my room, on my bed, with two baskets filled to the brim with washing that I have to fold before someone gets home. Yet here I am, typing away on my phone and chilling on a Discord call.

It’s not that I don’t want to do the task (I mean who wants to fold washing, but that’s besides the point), I just really want to get it over and done with so I can relax while snacking on a bowl of corn chips.

I just can’t bring myself to physically do it.

I’m not purposely trying to avoid it, but the task itself is too overwhelming for my brain to cope with.

I know folding washing doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but with executive dysfunctioning, it feels like one.

Small tasks become extremely overwhelming and even thinking about them is enough to make you want to curl up into a ball and cry.

On the opposite side, I’ll have moments where I hyperfixate or hyperfocus on a particular thing (hyperfixating being intensely invested in whatever I’m doing for a long period of time, hyperfocusing being intensely invested in whatever I’m doing for a short period of time); like reading, or drawing, or researching a special interest (we’ll cover that in another post). And if something or someone dares to interrupt me while I’m hyperfixating. I struggle big time to leave the task I’m doing to focus on something else.

Being forced to leave something you’re hyperfixaded/focused on is very agitating, and all you want to do is go back to that task.

It can be a good thing, and a bad thing.

If your hyperfocus kicks in when you’re writing a school paper, then it’s very much a helpful thing. But if you’re hyperfocusing on a blog you’re writing when you have a bunch of washing to fold -

Not so much.

Different people have different experiences when it comes to executive dysfunction and hyperfixation/focus, not everyone experiences it the same.

But those who do experience it can relate to others that do too.

Whether you have experienced these things or not, I think most of us can relate to lack of motivation and procrastination.

And to that I say,

MHT CET Full Form 2023: Exam Dates, Admit Card (Soon), Mock Test, Syllabus, and Question Papers

Introduction

The MHT CET Full Form is Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test 2023 PCM test will be placed from August 5 to August 11. There will be two shifts for the exam each day. Both PCM and PCB groups have received their MHT CET 2023 admit cards. The MHT CET PCB exam 2023 will be held between August 12 and August 20. Candidates can access the MHT CET 2023 admission card download link here.

Three exams will be given in the MHT CET 2023 : Paper 1 in mathematics, Paper 2 in integrated physics and chemistry, and Paper 3 in biology. Papers 1 and 2 are required for applicants to Engineering programs (PCM Group), while Papers 2 and 3 are required for applicants to Pharmacy courses (PCB Group). When completing the application form, the applicant was required to select the paper type (PCB or PCM).

The MHT CET 2023 will be comparable to the JEE Main exam in terms of difficulty. The MHT CET 2023 curriculum pdf, which was provided by the CET Cell, includes themes from classes 11 and 12 of physics, chemistry, and math/biology, with class 11 topics receiving a 20% weighting and class 12 topics receiving an 80% weighting.

MHT CET Exam (Everything You need to know)

The entrance test known as the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, or MHT CET, is used to select applicants for admission to undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programs at different universities throughout Maharashtra. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell holds the exam each year. In Maharashtra, more than 400 institutions accept the MHT CET scores for enrollment in their various engineering and pharmacy programs. Candidates from other Indian states may also apply to take the MHT CET exam, in addition to those from Maharashtra.

“For the academic year 2023–2024, the Maharashtra State Government has proposed new regulations for admission to BTech and other professional degree programs. According to the article, starting in 2023, class 12 scores in addition to MHT CET results would be taken into account for admission to BTech and other programs. Class 12 and CET scores will carry equal weight.”

MHT CET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2023

Along with the release of the application, the organization in charge of administering the test announced the eligibility requirements for the MHT CET 2023. Candidates who apply for MHT CET 2023 must make sure they meet the requirements for admission; if they do not, their candidacy will be withdrawn.

All applicants who meet the requirements — having passed or shown up at the HSC/12th Standard or its equivalent and possessing Indian nationality — are qualified to take the MHT CET exam. MHT CET 2023 Testing Locations

Around 100 cities in the state of Maharashtra as well as a few places outside of Maharashtra will host the exam. The admit card will contain accurate information regarding the candidate’s MHT CET exam location. Based on the exam city selections made by the candidate when filling out the application form, the individual will be assigned an exam center. Once chosen, the exam city cannot be altered. Candidates are therefore recommended to carefully complete the exam city preference field on the application form.

The MHT CET 2023 will be held online in nearly all of Maharashtra’s districts.

The capital districts of the chosen states, such as Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, may serve as testing locations outside of Maharashtra.

Candidates will be assigned a test center depending on the preferences they indicated on their application forms.

Once assigned, the exam center cannot be changed for any reason.
