I really need to consider closing shop for a while after this month. I'm just so continuously burned out and depressed that all I do is work and sleep. but never fast enough. I'm off my medications. I'm always behind. I can't draw any more. I've lost feeling for everything that makes me happy. All I ever do is try to work on non-drawn things to sell to cover all my expenses for the month.

I have savings because I've been very strict with myself this year but I'm always worried if I close shop, it won't bounce back. But I've never been in a pit like this before. My friends don't even hear from me because I'm so depressed I just can't bring myself to talk any more.

All I can really say is thank to my Patrons making things less scary right now. I'm so thankful for the patience for new art while I'm trying my best to just function. And thank you to people who've been patient with my orders from the shop. I'm trying my best

Why do driver jobs pay so little? Do they think a perk of the job is the driving?? They literally expect you to make your wages in tips. $10.85 - $30/hr (employer estimate), $12/hr (emoloyer estimate) you have got to be kidding.

The blood courier wage for Red Cross is only $15/hr and they expect you to transport blood and medical equipment AND maintain the vehicle. Required to lift 10-50 lbs and push carts up to 100 lbs. Able to withstand blood storage temperatures. Operational flexibility required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.

And everything else is a subcontractor for Amazon.

jobs will say they're mental health friendly until you actually have to miss work for it

jobs will say they support you taking time off until you actually do it

capitalism is a sham and employers do not and will not ever care about you, and if you're chronically ill, sucks to suck

i have an average of 1.5 absences a month and i'm tardy an average of twice a month, and somehow that's still too much.

18 absences in a year if i go at the current rate. 18. out of the 208 days total that i work (4 on, 3 off, with a 3 hour commute each direction.) 18. days. of absences. and that's too many.

and god forbid i be more than 15 minutes late.

#it's because we're horrifically understaffed #animal rescue is understaffed and underpaid and burnt the fuck out #but where else am i gonna go #back to retail? my body can't take that anymore #a decade of 8 hours a day on my feet has quite literally crippled me #i called out today because i dared to have fun over my weekend and my hip pain flared so badly that i couldn't put weight on it #i should stay home and rest it tomorrow too #but i'm not #because my boss already texted me today to inform me that my absences are “alarmingly too frequent” and “becoming problematic”#i took fmla for a month and a half last year because i couldn't handle existing #i've been back for 3 months #my shelter laid off 15% of our staff within a month of me returning #critical teams were cut entirely #and my team #the adoptions team #has seven people total #that's not enough #that isn't NEARLY enough #not for an animal shelter of our size and animal volume #that's why me calling out is “problematic”#because HR won't greenlight us for more positions #because of a problem THE CEO caused by driving us into the ground financially #and if i leave i have to start all over somewhere else #i have to wait a year to be eligible for fmla at a new job #i lose my benefits #i don't even know if i could FIND a job #the market is awful and i will literally collapse if i have to work a standing job again #i made it six months at my last one #because i was so dizzy and in so much pain all the time #undiagnosed issues of course

ugh it was so fucking unfortunate to be demoted to a 13.5 literally less than 2 weeks before my meds kicked im enough for me to be able to work 18.5 again. if id gotten the CHANCE. now i have to wait for them to open an 18.5 position again but theyre not hiring part time for a LONG time due to budget so just. OK ! worst timing ever

#luckily i have my market job which is 60$ every other wkd. but i make $5 less an hr at that job & its harder on my body #but i NEED to keep that one bc its under the table technically so if i have to quit & apply for disability at least i have that little bit #while waiting for it. which it doesnt look like ill have to for now but at least until im back up to my full hrs i need the extra $#🐇
