ok i survived yom kippur. but it took every single scrap of strength in my body and i’m not completely better yet
#purrs#food#ask to tag#got my period thursday… bad cramps friday and saturday to the point where i had to go home early saturday (we were working lol 🤪)…. woke up#sunday with a. headache that got worse and worse throughout the day… 5-6 hours into the fast was in agony and felt like i was going to ****#so i… broke the fast and ate something at like 1am. then woke up in agony at 5am and then again at 9am and had a breakdown / fight with my#mom and then spend the whole rest of the fast deathly nauseous and my head hurting worse than ever. broke the fast an hour before everyone#else did (only ate a tiny bit) and then during the fast breaking dinner i started freaking out bc eating wasn’t making my head hurt less so#my grandpa told me to go lie down with a heating pad on my head and i did and slept for like 2 hours and it helped. finally feel better but#my head still hurts faintly and im scared it’ll come back. also i didn’t do my homework and missed class today to fast so im fucked#ive had headaches like this before but this is the worst one in a LONG time. it wasn’t a migraine bc those are in one specific spot iirc but#this was like… my ENTIRE face and the source of the pain migrated from my jaw to my temple to the bridge of my nose to the back of my head#etc etc and it kept moving around and was so sharp i didn’t even have the strength to open my eyes or walk around. and i think it was making#me interpret hunger as nausea. also i took my temperature bc i was flashing hot and cold and was like 2 degrees under normal body temp and#felt so weak and shaky and had body aches too. lol 😍 hpefully the worst of it is over but my head still hurts a little and im so scared itll#happen again. that was by far my worst fasting experience ever#delete later

SO NEW YEAR. I need to start practising things that'll actually improve my art 'skills' right? WELL. How do I do that
yeah of course !! i guess it really depends on what you want to improve and how seriously you want to dive into learning new techniques. i seriously slacked in motivating myself last year, so you and i can work to better our art together !!
most importantly, you should aim to draw every single day. ideally, i would shoot for at least 30 minutes a day, regardless of what you choose to do (sketching, working on a larger project, coloring, scribbling to improve line strength and arm movements, etc.). that might not always be attainable due to a busy schedule/life in general, but i think even a good 5 minutes at the very least can be beneficial in disciplining yourself to take a moment to focus on ur art. especially when you feel like you can’t/don’t want to draw. sometimes you’ll dread it, but once you lay down a few lines, you slowly start to get into the groove and it ends up not being so bad by the end of it :-)
next, i recommend working on developing good warm-up habits! before you even draw, take a few minutes to stretch your arms and wrists. address your posture, relax the tension from your body. and when it comes time to pick up the pencil, start out with very basic lines, circles, curves, etc. work on pushing and pulling your lines when appropriate. grow your line confidence & stop relying so much on quick repetitive strokes to complete shapes. shade different areas w various pressures, etc. essentially just scribble and doodle on scrap paper to loosen your grip & toy w the very very basics.
then, take some time to focus on observational studies ! they are so important. so important !!!! it’s so easy to look @ these and push them off in favor of what you rly want to draw but promise me you’ll at least do one a week. at the v least. take the time to look at shadows and structures around you . pictures can be great resources for things you dont have immediate access to, but observing how objects exist in three dimensions w perspective, light sources, etc. will do exponentially more for ur improvement than pictures ever will. if you intend to draw people, this includes gesture poses. i recommend looking into nearby life drawing resources in your area that offer weekly sessions (usually for a v low price, usually
in addition to that, consume a lot of media !! find movies, shows, comics, fanart, etc that you really really enjoy. such gives you the opportunity to incorporate different aspects of the things you love into your own art in order to evolve your style. furthermore, it just widens your grasp on new concepts, topics, and ideas.
and @ the end of the day, draw for yourself. satisfaction w ur art comes when you’re not worried w how others perceive it. obs if you’re posting your art online you can’t rly shake that nagging thought but like. draw what you want to draw. in the styles you want to draw them in, w the colors you really adore. if you want to try something rly rly new but are scared of how it might turn out, experimentation is such a wonderful tool that’ll also push you towards improvement. if it starts to become more of a chore than something you find pleasure in, ask yourself what’s holding u back and what you can do differently :-)

I created something kinda cool by accident? XD
I don’t know what to say if I’m honest xD
Is it possible to interpretsomething into this... whatever this is...?  For a moment I was really frustrated and sad because i thought my drawing skills sucked... so i just randomly drew anything. Drawing sad, agry or depressed stuff always helped me to come over bad feelings and drawing this made me feel a little bit better again vwv maybe I’m going to draw more of this strange style..? Hpefully I can create more of it xD
This picture fits s3/stump day Marco, too I think. I love drawing him ‘cause he’s really easy to draw for me :3c
