I have a shit ton of ideas for tanaka cause hes my favorite hamster in funger

Tbh these ideas kinda give him the plot armour funger never gave for our shonen anime protagonist so if you don't like that, feel free to scroll past

What would Tanaka be like as a playable character?

Here are my ideas:

Since he is a latent soul, he can get the skill trees of others without killing them (of course it will take longer to obtain them rather than killing them, though).

This mechanic will basically be asking others to teach you how to do their stuff TM

So because of this there will be a 'friendship' system for Tanaka. (Canonically, Tanaka won't see this as friendship, tough guy since four and all,... but my fanon heart says that yes he will. I will force Tanaka to be emotionally vulnerable for my fanon heart, and I say this as a threat.)

Some characters are more unwilling to share their skills with Tanaka, depends on persuasion and first impressions (based on what dialogue you choose and how good you are at observe).

I think a special case would be Daän as I theorize that Tanaka asking for his knowledge and skills would remind his relationship of himself and Eihner Von Dutch... probably if you play as Tanaka on a run he would be the first person willing to bring him under his wing, so to speak.

You can probably gain multiple skills from others at once, but for characters that we know do not like each other, if they do realize that Tanaka is also mentored by the guy they don't like, they'll stop teaching him and his persuasion won't work as well on them. Also 'friendship' decreases with them. Sometimes both characters pull out which would be a great loss. (Like anyone with pav, karin with the magicians and daan, if you attempt to learn from caligura in front of any contestant, etc.)

Really big point here: we know that Tanaka is unprepared for the Termina festival, thus being the weakest contestants in the beginning. You'll have the most opportunities for death playing as his character, especially so on harder modes, and that can easily end your run.

Also why Tanaka is the hardest character to play as, because you need to stay alive (which WILL be hard, as both mind, body, and hp are significantly lower. Remember, unprepared hamster not ready for the fears of the jungle) for long enough to be able to start learning from others (would think that this studying starts at day 2, or day 1, which if I remember are the days with the most amount of events that Tanaka could die).

I would like to think that him learning from Marcoh would always be canon, even in any multiverse. He really needs the hp boost.

As you learn more and more, these can be things that naturally give Tanaka increase in body, mind, hp, and any other stats. You can still get these stats from items though.

Because Tanaka never experienced something like termina before, his mind stat is irreversibly capped less higher than other contestants. I think that could be a great way for the game to signify that Tanaka is really traumatized by these events. And also went a bit mad for his late meeting lol.

I really think we should bring back "handsome rugged looks" skill for Tanaka. It would be really funny if he were to be the only contestant that could seduce. Will also increase affinity with Sylvian.

With this "rugged handsome looks" skill your persuasion would be improved, and you can make certain enemies skip their turn using that.

Dialogue would probably be like "... is shocked at your vulgar display." I think the moonscorched villagers were raised in pseudo-christianity where they probably said sex isn't ok and the only exception is for Sylvian cultist/sacrifices for sylvian... and I believe in my heart that this skill is obviously not for that god. (a/n: considering that funger has shown rape, I don't think that this would be realistic... probably still effective, but not THAT effective).

Would think that enemies like the Sylvian trooper would either be unfazed or say some flirty stuff idk (skill won't work)

Also! I really like the extra coin toss skill that other folks think would happen with non npc! Tanaka. Really neat.

Speaking of persuasion, Tanaka would have more effective persuauion than other because he is a salaryman. It's basically his job.

On the 'friendship' system, based on different friendship stats you will get different b endings as what your skills are are directly affected by who teaches you. I would also like to think that once Tanaka's latent soul 'awakens', he won't be willing to go back to his old job with new skills he isn't going to use. (a/n: this is where the op part kicks in. Realistically, his b ending would just be the same: only how fast you defeat Termina and if you did succeed would be affected. Still, I like dreaming for my favourite boy to be happy for once. And leave his family cause they really were not good to him, even though they are miles better than other families, they still suck).

When one of the contestants that teaches him moonscorches, if you encounter them he won't fight them, no matter what you do. He will never fight the person that helped him from the ground up. He can never bite the hand that feeds, even if the hand tries to choke him. And that is written in his stubbon nature. (a/n : he was raised to NEVER reky on others, and even if learning from others DO go against this pesson, it will become his character arc to depend on someone else to be stronger. However, I do think canon!Tanaka does still have some self-preservation, and in this case canon Tanaka would probably prioritize his life over morals like this. But my fanon heart is a sobbing girl that likes to think that it's favourite characters would rather kill themselves than kill their friends, and honestly it needs more angst to feed from).

And this part is REALLY, REALLY plot-armoury and really not canon, but in my heart, and even my head, they both agree that Tanaka's b-ending (in my ideas) wouod be the most canon b-ending, as other contestants 'live on' through Tanaka. He carries their memories, and skills, and he uses them to fight Per'kele.

Note: I still like the idea that the logic god ending is canon and what would happen in the 3rd installment, though.

Missy the gaming PC (she's an MSI) is up and running and both Sims and BG3 are working beautifully, which means I can give my poor laptop Aquafaba (they're an HP Pavilion -> pav -> pavlova -> meringue -> I'm vegan, so... aquafaba) some breathing space!

Granted, it did take Missy a full twenty minutes to load all my Sims mods for the first time last night, but it was nice smooth sailing from there on, and in BG3, everything!! loaded!! No weird or missing textures! I can finally play through endgame without the Withussy!

Have also uninstalled the EA App outright, since I literally only used it for the Sims. Will keep Steam on Aquafaba, though, since I have no problem with most other games. I'll also get Bloodlines and Subnautica (and Below Zero) set up on Missy too, minimum, since it'll just be a better experience on her. BG3 and TS4 were just the priorities, since TS4 was taking up a huge chunk of real estate on my rather limited 265GB SSD, and BG3, well...

Aquafaba didn't even meet the minimum goddamn.

This is SUPER niche and silly and something I wrote the other day because I was missing London, but I thought I’d publish it for @docholligay​ who’s on the mend today and hopefully will enjoy some OW goofballs.

Tracer and Pharah argue about potatoes and bread.

Fareeha Amari tolerated London. The large, sprawling cityscape with narrow streets and fast moving cars, cramped upon one another. So cramped in fact, they had to stack the buses on top of themselves to ferry people around. The whole place was constantly under grey, rainy skies that soaked your clothes and hair through from the constant drizzle. The pubs were warm at least and found on every corner, but dark. Dark wood, dark beers, dark food. The best way to eat your dark meats is with more dark sludge from their famous “brown sauce” that is supposed to go on everything. 

“Not everythin’ Fareeha, don’ be dramatic. I like it best on breakfast sandwiches.”

Pharah sat in Lena Oxton’s small, east London flat, watching the friend she flew halfway around the world to visit butter two pieces of toast and stuff the contents full with hot, thick chips fresh from the oven. 

Fareeha shook her head in disapproval at the final dousing of HP sauce over the buttered spuds. 

“How can you eat a sandwich like that? Isn't it too starchy? There is such a thing as too many carbs in a meal you know.”

Tracer paid her no mind, digging into her chip butty with satisfaction. Fareeha sighed, picking up the morning newspaper and taking a sip from her cup of coffee. 

“I don’ see what you ‘ave against potato and bread together. It’s a classic combination, everyone knows that.”

“Oh, classic combination, you say?”

Fareeha took another sip of her slightly burnt, black coffee, disappearing behind the business section of the newspaper.

“Mhmm. Bread and potatoes are staples throughout history.”

“Well yes, but not necessarily served on top of one another in that fashion.”

“Well why not? Why they got to be separate? Seems to me a person should be able to enjoy all their carbs at once if they want.”

A familiar sigh escaped behind the quiet crinkle of paper as the pages turned, Fareeha hidden behind the latest political scandal splashed across the front page.

Lena continued to munch on her sandwich, regarding the walled exterior of her opponent/good friend with a calculating gaze. Fareeha was too stuffy not to poke fun at, with her penchant for rigid stances and arbitrary standards. All Tracer needed was an opening, and then the fun of having Fareeha in person would really kick off.

Fareeha folded the paper inside out and turned it over, a wall of brightly colored ads and coupons now facing the Brit and her sandwich. One restaurant name in particular caught her eye, and Lena’s lips quirked up in a devilish grin. 

“You knooow,” Tracer called out in a sing song voice, “it’s big an’ mighty of you to snub your nose at my sandwich, when I know you love those vada pav’s when we go to Dishoom. Vada pav’s bein’ just a fancy chip butty and all.”

In a sharp movement, the newspaper crumbled in half, the hawkish stare of Fareeha Amari appearing over it’s folded ridge. 

It was true Fareeha was not much of a fan for the traditional British food, but there was one British staple she looked forward to more than anything on her trips to London. Dishoom. The atmosphere, the spiced food, the breakfast or lunch or dinner. It was delicious and worth the long lines if you forgot to make a reservation for the restaurant. It was Lena in fact who introduced her to the place, Fareeha not having eaten much Indian food before she started frequenting the city. 

To compare the carefully crafted, labor intensive dish of a vada pav with the buttered potato sandwich before here was absurd.

“Vada pav are not chip buttys.”

Lena’s lopsided grin deepened, the spark in her brain latching onto its new target. She continued in a measured, casual tone but her warm brown eyes betrayed the mischief taking shape. 

“How they not, Fareeha? There’s a toasted bun, an’ in between, a blob of fried potato. By the very definition, that there’s a chip butty!” Lena waved her half eaten sandwich around for emphasis. “You can dress it up how you like, but there’s no escaping the facts!”

The tea cup full of coffee clattered against the saucer it rested on as the newspaper slammed onto the table, Pharah’s full attention on Tracer.

“There’s no way you can compare the delicious, crisp exterior of the potato dumpling in a vada pav with those squishy, sad chips you have slathered in brown sauce.”

“Well, these aren’t fried because baking ‘em is healthier. But a proper fried chip butty is just as crisp as any old vada pav.” She took another bite to emphasize the point.

“Oh, of cooourse,” Fareeha crossed her arms in a huff. “Okay, another question. Where did you get that bread, hmm?”

Lena looked down at the nondescript white bread in her hand and shrugged. 

“Dunno. Just somethin’ picked up at the shop, I s’pose.”

Fareeha slammed her hand down on the table. 

“Exactly! A chip butty can just use whatever is available. White bread, a bap, whatever! While vada pav needs a pav, not what happens to be lying around the back of your cupboard!”

“I won’ pretend pavs aren’t delicious. You know I love ‘em with my ruby chicken! But they’re still jus’ bread. Delicious buns, you mind, but toasted bread! And bread with a fried potato between it’s...A. Chip. Butt-y.”

“Argh!! You’re so infuriating! The spices are clearly essential in a vada pav and non existent in…

Emily popped by the apartment in the mid-afternoon to fetch Lena and Fareeha for tea. When she entered the kitchen, the small table was littered with scraps of newspaper covered in crude drawings of sandwiches and potatoes. Fareeha stood in the corner, furiously typing away on the screen of her tablet, mumbling under her breath while Lena thumbed through a stack of old takeout menus she normally kept stashed in a drawer. 

“Um, everythin’ alright, loves?”

“Ah ha!” Lena shouted, oblivious to the soft question from her girlfriend. “Look ‘ere and weep, Fareeha. Says so in the official Dishoom description, ‘Bombay’s version of London’s Chip Butty..’”

“Wha.. well..that’s obviously just worded to make it seem appealing to you Londoners so you have something to relate to!!”

“SO YOU ADMIT IT’S RELATED TO A CHIP BUTTY”

“THAT IS NOT WHAT I -

Emily glanced between the shouting duo for a moment before she buttoned her coat back up, and turned to the door. She considered writing a quick note for Lena, but on second thought looking at the scribbles all over the torn up newspaper on the table and shouting about the merits of spices in vada pav vs brown sauce, decided it best to just leave and come back for tea tomorrow.

*I believe Dishoom calls theirs “vada pau”, but from what I’ve seen online vada pav is a bit more common usage? Seem to be interchangeable but I apologize if I assume the term is one for one and is not.

Well, I did get it to work, however not my this method. After trying it several times and failing, I figured I'd just use the laptop without the battery, since it powered the laptop without the battery in it. Then the idea of just placing the battery back in the laptop while I was receiving power came up. So as the laptop is working I placed the battery in and SUCCESS the AC adapter no longer was blinking and it was successfully transferring power to the laptop and battery.

Now, however, several days later, in a similar library, I noticed I wasn't receiving power again. When I unplugged the adapter from the laptop, the light on the adapter continued to blink. The AC adapter's light turned solid green means ac adapter have a solid out put. When the light blinking, it means that the adapter is trying to output again and again, and it keeps flashing to indicate that the output was failed. You need check laptop dc jack or a MOSFET on laptop motherboard. Usually one laptop model develops this kind of fault and then many of the same model start to fail.
